Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in The Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
In the Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Hey, does Sex in the City you know the original series?
Does that still hold up? I mean they're running it
again that they're in they're promoting it a lot on streaming.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
No, it doesn't. I watched it, and there's a lot
of stuff that at the time I think was so taboo,
and now it's just like no one cares about that.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Everybody's doing that.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
It's very interesting and kind of some of their views
on certain things are very outdated as well. It's still
a good show, but it's you know, they still.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Want to know how half of them made their damn money,
Like they had these beautiful apartments, they had great fashion
sense this and then where'd you get the damn money
for all of this?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Well, that's always been like a New York City based
show thing, like no one lives like that. They can't
afford it anyway. So, I mean, you know that series
premiered in nineteen ninety eight, damn it ended in two
thousand and four. Wow, and it always uh had her
typing saying I couldn't help but wonder. Yeah, anyway, I

(01:08):
was trying to watch it the other night, and I
remember I used to like it. I thought it was
pretty good, and now it just it seems so dated.
It really does.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
But if you look at it as a dated show,
then it's enjoyable. It's good, you know. Yeah, I guess.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
But a lot of people that listen to our show
and wherever it weren't even born yet, you know. Yeah, So,
so how old were you when Section and C was out?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Gandhi.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
I didn't watch it when it was actually out. I
watched it way after, like the reruns, and I watched it.
I tried to watch it again fairly recently because I
was like, oh, let's check this out because I wanted
to watch and just like that.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, I just you know, not great, yeah, okay, all right,
all right. It's definitely a time capsule kind of thing. Yeah, scary.
The session's great.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
I used to try and be trendy like them and
try and go to all the places that they got
into and stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
You know, because you haven't changed, well, I guess I'm
stuck in nineteen ninety.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
They're still trying to go to the places they used
to go to, right.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
No, really, but they they went to the hottest clubs
and all the restaurants, and they sat at pesties and
and you know the the the place of MAGNOLDI a bakery,
and you know all these clubs, and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
I gotta go, I gotta get in. It was the
hot thing to do. I gotcha.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Do you remember we had a couple of the girls
up on the show before the show even launched. Oh,
we were talking about like this it's gonna happen, and
this is a new show that's coming out, and we
were like and then it blew up. It was so crazy.
We didn't even know what it was and we had
them up. It was awesome.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I think one of the craziest things about it when
I see it Carrie, who is the lead character.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
She's the worst. She's the worst.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
She has like, she's a terrible friend to people. She
was everything about her someone's mom can die and she's like,
but what about me?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
It's oh in an awful judge in men? Hello, Oh yeah,
forget it.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
But they made a whole story about how she needed
to be a bad judge of men because I gave
the other three something to do.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I take care of her, right. Anyways, they been in
middle school.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I think when that came out.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, well, I tell you what, Manola Blank, they really
put the little Blonic on the on the map and Cosmopolitans.
They put Cosmopolitans on the map. I mean a lot
of women in that day. I know, people uh that
we were friends with, looked up to them as the
trend setters that they followed.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah ate what Okay. So I was a fan of
the show back when it originally aired, and I was
so excited when I give to New York City, I'm like,
I'm going to the Russian Tea Room and I know
there and I'm the only person in it. Apparently it
was a thing years.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Ago and more that was actually at the that was
sort of at the end of the Russian Tea Room phase.
I think it's still there if you want to go, Yeah, well,
I'll take you over there for some chicken Kiev and
some Keviar and some and cold vodka. It actually is
a treat to go there because it really is kind
of stuck in time. No, No, it's like eating an

(04:00):
a museum. It's really I love it. I am not
complaining against the Russian team room. Uh so uh yes, Gandhi.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Also, those women were running around New York City, legitimately
running in high heels the whole time. Don't.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yes, that's crazy. You'll get stuck in a great Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
They don't do like women do in New York now,
where you keep your wear, your sensible sneakers, and then
you have your your your shoes in the bag exactly.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, okay,
