Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
The morning Show.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
All right, we have a special guest for the fifteen
minute Morning show today.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
This is exciting. Yeah. Should we introduce him?

Speaker 4 (00:22):
No, No, let's do the whole thing without introducing.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Let's talk about him like he's not here.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Let's just secretly judge him.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Starts here, sir, Oh my god, we want to say.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Miguel from the Miguel and Holly Show. Yes.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
Yes, you guys are in Charlotte, North Carolina, by way
of Tampa. Yes, and I met you guys at the
iHeartRadio Music Festival. We had an awesome afternoon at the
day State.

Speaker 6 (00:51):
You took us around and introduced us to everyone. You
were super, super nice.

Speaker 7 (00:55):
He was the mayor of the day State.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I thought he was.

Speaker 6 (00:59):
It was introducing us to everybody because you were.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
You know, not only new to that radio station, but
you were new to the company, knew to iHeart. So
I'm like, you know what they must felt like. At
one point they were the enemy because they worked for
a computer radio company, and now here they are in
the family. That must have been stressful and difficult for you.
So I tried to ease your emotions and and kind

(01:24):
of welcome you into the iHeart family.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Some places you get a fruit basket, you get something
nice and warm. We send scary to.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Why din't you take it back to that?

Speaker 5 (01:34):
You know that that time, what was your first impressions
of the you know, coming into the.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
iHeart fam It was scary and enlightening because you know,
y'all are the big dogs. Everybody wants to work for iHeart.
But I thought where we were we were going to
be for a long time. And so then when they
approached us, my co host Holly and I, I mean,
it was a few months where we were like agonizing
over the decision because we had built up a nice

(01:59):
radio family in Tampa. But with everything that iHeart does,
with how big it is and the digital assets and everything,
we were like, why not?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
And then I feel like.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
After the pandemic, everybody was ready for a change, and
I was like I told my husband, I was like,
I know, we literally are about to get married. But
then two weeks later, we're going to move to a
new city. As we were also building a house and
filming a reality show in Tampa at the time, right
there was like so much going on at the same time.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
It's hard when it's comfortable and things and you're being
successful for you to just make a change like that,
I mean, that's got to be like and how.

Speaker 7 (02:34):
Did you convince him to do it? Like, you know,
what was I mean other than being married to you?
What was in it for him? Like, hey, come on, honey,
let's go.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
He knew.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
I mean when we first got together, like that was
the first conversation, was like, hey, you know I working radio.
You know, I think we're gonna be in Tampa for
a long time, but like, you never know what will happen,
especially in a contract year, and so as it.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Was approaching, I was like, I just have a feeling.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
And like the final final conversation we had, he was like,
you have to do it.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
You're not happy.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
You need to follow your dream.

Speaker 6 (03:07):
You've literally spent your entire life wanting to do radio,
and so why would you hold back because of me?

Speaker 7 (03:13):
Let's go, Wow, and what is this reality show? You
guys were working on.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
One hundred day Dream Home on HDTV. Yeah, so we
were literally building a house at the same time that
all this was going on, and so it was just
there was a lot of stress at one time. Wow,
when you told your husband that you are were moving
to Atlanta. Did it start with, hey, we have to
have a talk or did like, like was it one

(03:39):
of those like you came home and you're and it
was like how do I deliver this?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Like doing well, it was sort of like the first
because you're married for two weeks at this point.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
Well, so the conversation happened before, like as we were
like planning the wedding and building the house, and it
was like our agent called and was like, hey, like
iHeart has.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Reached out and I was like, oh gosh, okay.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
And so she was like our agent was like just
have a conversation, and so you have an agent.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yes, that's the one thing we're missing here guys. And finally.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
It works now.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
And so we had that one conversation and he was like, well,
what do you think is going to happen? And I
was like, I think this is really positive. And so
there was like a conversation with someone at iHeart. There
was a dinner and it was just like the whole
time we were like we're just being very casual about it.
And then it was like when it came down, it
was like that around the holidays when it was like
we got to make the decision.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
You're flirting, but you couldn't commit just yet.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Being recorded by the competition secrecy.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Yes, yes, it was all very It's so funny because
it's like what we do is just so fun and
then you have the business side of it, and I'm
not a business person, and so it was all very
scary at the same time. That's why you have an agent,
right exactly help you do all that stuff. Because I
was just like, oh my gosh, it was just very
nerve wrack in the entire process.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Oh my god, I thought.

Speaker 7 (05:06):
Geary had a follow up question.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
This is a first fifteen minute mo is your podcast
like a moment of silence? That was our pregnant pause,
unexpected for like five six seconds.

Speaker 7 (05:19):
No one spects.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Usually we're jumping on top of each other. I shut
it down, right, I wanted to. I'm sorry.

Speaker 8 (05:27):
I was silent because I was looking up these one
hundred day dream home So how much do they actually pay?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Oh no, you pay for everything.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
They don't pay.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
They don't give you any So you do get ten
thousand dollars towards a special project and.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
You're landscaping, so that's all they do. That's it. You
pay for everything else.

Speaker 6 (05:47):
But you do get a lot of really cool add
ons from like their sponsors, so like our lighting because
we still own the home. So like our lighting package
was like ten thousand dollars. We would never pay that
on our own, so you do. And then they did
like our really cool design on the back patio and
like a little bar area.

Speaker 7 (06:05):
It really sad to leave that house because of what
they just do it.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
So we never got to live in it, and so
like literally they were building it as our wedding was happening,
and then the next week we went a honeymoon, announced
we were leaving, and so I had to actually fly
back from Charlotte to Tampa to like film the reveal
of the house and so on the episode you see
us like getting emotional, but it was because we knew

(06:31):
we would never live in the house, and it was
just like, oh my gosh, it's so beautiful. But we
do own it, and we do get to go back,
like we go for Saint Pete Pride and we like
have our friends and we spent the holidays there.

Speaker 7 (06:41):
Okay, do you rend it out?

Speaker 5 (06:42):
The other day, I was unexpectedly in town for Saint
Pete Pride. In a couple of years ago, my friends
and I we were going, no, we were going to uh,
you know, stay in Saint Pete, Saint Pete Beach, and
then we're like, hey, let's uh, let's go into town,
let's hang out.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
And there I was right in.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
The middle of all of it. I'm like, oh my god,
this is great. Every night was a party, every afternoon
was a party. It was a good time there.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
It is technically the largest pride in Florida. It's bigger
than Miami.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
And so when we were Holly and I were there,
we were the media sponsors, and so we hosted the
parade for like six years, I think, and that was
just the most exhausting but loving day. But the like
fun times would get a little too fun because, like
my husband, there was one time when because our friends

(07:36):
were bartending at the bar next to where we were hosting,
and so the parade is like four hours and so
as I'm like the Saint Pete Fire Department is coming
down woo, my husband comes over with a drink and
he was like, are you ready to go home?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
And I was like, we still have three more.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Hours, so we know what type of drinker your husband is.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
Absolutely, and so literally like the Lay's chips came and
I was like, please get like five bags of chips,
have some water, and sit down.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
But it's like such a fun time though.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
So what are you doing up in New York?

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Then? Is the question?

Speaker 1 (08:10):
So visiting or Yeah?

Speaker 6 (08:11):
So my husband is originally from Buffalo, New York, but
his brother, my brother in law, and his soon to
be wife, Isaac and Kara, they live in Queens and
so they're getting married this fall and so we were
here just visiting them for the weekend.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Is your husband a Buffalo Bills fan? He is a
like go bells? Yeah, all right, So he hasn't been
through a table? Yeah he has not.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Okay, no, no, because most people from Buffalo have been
through a folding table at one point in their life.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
And I'm like, that's what fans do.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
That's what the Buffalo Bills fans do.

Speaker 8 (08:43):
And Buffalo Bills fan well, just go through a table.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
They have another weird tradition too, during pregames where it's
like with mustard and ketchup and the yeah, they stay
on top of a car u and then they just
squirt mustard and ketch up.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
If you get a hot dog, it's a weird.

Speaker 7 (09:05):
Traditional hope it lands on your hot dog.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
It's like a right.

Speaker 6 (09:08):
No, it's a right of passage. It's a right of
passage up in Buffalo. See what you're missing out?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Like the wings and the pizza.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
I'm about but not that.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Okay, So back to this home thing.

Speaker 7 (09:24):
To know.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
I watched all these shows like Farmhouse, Face Leift.

Speaker 7 (09:28):
Why didn't you try to get on there?

Speaker 8 (09:29):
We tried at the time, and the pandemic was happening
and they weren't doing any production.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Well now they are, Well, we paid all of our
own money to do these.

Speaker 7 (09:36):
Ship some renovations.

Speaker 8 (09:38):
You could still we get that basement that smells like
dead mice. But anyway, so you only.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Got that's all they gave you.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
By the way, my dreams are shadowed now these like
like bar Rescue shows like that when they fix up
the bar.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I'm like, well wait a second.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
Now I'm wondering if people are responsible for some of
that tab you know, when we do it.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Or what was the old show with uh hey bus
driver movement? Yeah yeah, yeah, makeover right? Yeah, so you're
telling me that was all farce and well, it all
depends to them.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
It depends on the network too.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
ABC is a little different than HGTV, where HGTV can't
afford with makeover Ken on ABC.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
But also the problem was for some of those houses,
people couldn't afford the taxes after they renovated the house
because a.

Speaker 9 (10:24):
Lot of those shows are treated like game shows and
you have to pay tax, yes.

Speaker 7 (10:27):
And your tax goes up on your house when they
put in all this extra work and stuff, and people
were losing their properties because of that.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
So it's not all like wine and roses. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (10:37):
Well, I mean, especially like with ours, there's a production
company that like runs it and then I think they
like lease it from the production company, so like you're
never under cause like the whole premise is that like
you go to the host uh Mika and Brian and
she's a realtor and he's a construction guy, and then

(10:57):
they help you build it, so like you're paying for
everything yourself, and then at the end they're like, here's
the extra things.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
We gave you are the extra things that you wanted, so.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
You don't live there anymore.

Speaker 6 (11:11):
So it's okay, we really wanted a pool in the hotub.
But they do say up front like that's not gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Okay, got it?

Speaker 7 (11:20):
Okay, now wait did we ask this? Did they come
to you? Do you look go to them?

Speaker 6 (11:24):
So we were in talks because we were like, knew
we wanted to build a house. Yeah, we went that
we have the main house and then we have a
garage with the mother in law suite on top where
his parents could come from Buffalo, my mom from Atlanta,
and they could have like a little place to live.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
And so we at the time.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
That's a reality show. That is a reality show.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
That actually would be really interesting my mom from Atlanta's
parents from Buffalo. But no, and so we went to
our builder and they contacted him like, hey, do you
have any clients that you think would be good for
the TV show? And so we thought the process when
we started it was gonna be like a whole year.
And so once we auditioned for that, then everything just

(12:06):
like sped up exponentially because it's one hundred days and
so it.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Went really really fast. So it actually is one hundred days.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
Yes, I mean now, when we did it, it was
during the supply chain issues, so it was like one hundred.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Ish days, one hundred and ninety nine days.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
But yeah, it was a really really really cool experience,
all right, Danielle, I.

Speaker 7 (12:29):
Know, seriously, curtain, I want my basement done. I've got
so much crap down there with you awesome. I want
like a I kept saying, I want like because the
kids are older now so they don't need it as
a playroom. I want like a media center with like
you know, the chairs with the.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Movie come is that you're gonna have a media dude,
I live in a one bedroom apartment.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
I just want to feel like I'm not living in
a hotel.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Danielle, You're gonna build that media center, and you're still
gonna hear crickets.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
You're right, you're gonna hear crickets.

Speaker 7 (12:56):
They all died because the beauty dragon is now gone
for a while.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
One crickets still alive, thanks Eric. One cricket is still there,
still going.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
We'll get or something.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
And scary. You could afford to get yourself a house
at this point.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Lazy, I don't I hear that.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
There's a lot of problems that come with houses, A
lot of expenses, a lot of unplanned things, and a
lot of things to tend to outside of your walls.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
How many bags and malts did you have to get
this past week?

Speaker 9 (13:24):
I put down thirty five bags of mults yesterday. My
back is killing me and I have to go back
for more today. So you know what, It's a blessing
and a curse to own a house.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
I don't have any time for that in my life.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yes, you do.

Speaker 7 (13:36):
You go home in the afternoon and you nap.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
You're a place to eat and sleep.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
That he doesn't do his own laundry.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
True, I send it out a girlfriend.

Speaker 7 (13:47):
Rob like to move into a nice place.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
I do have an in unit. I'm sorry. I have
an in unit. Wash your dryer and I don't use it.
I use it.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
What house, ol chiors? Do you actually do for yourself?

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Do you have windecks in that you dine out?

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Like?

Speaker 7 (14:02):
You clean the bathroom at all?

Speaker 9 (14:04):
No?

Speaker 5 (14:04):
No, I have somebody that does that, but she comes
when every I have.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
I hire somebody a cleaning woman.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Every week or every every.

Speaker 7 (14:14):
Clean your toilet for two weeks.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
What if you pee on the seat? Oh no, no,
I clean it myself. I'm in between cleaning.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Do you change your sheets?

Speaker 7 (14:23):
No, she does it, so every two weeks to change
two weeks.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
I go months.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Sometimes I go to bed clean.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
It's that's why you're in a studio.

Speaker 7 (14:35):
And you have like well, your skin comes off at
night and stuff.

Speaker 9 (14:38):
I wash it off in the shower before I go
to bed.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
It's nasty.

Speaker 7 (14:41):
I can't I do it to every two weeks, two weeks.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
What are towels?

Speaker 7 (14:48):
No towels? I do a couple sometimes a couple of.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Times a week, once a week, three weeks.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Okay, you know Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Each tower
gets used like two three times.

Speaker 9 (14:59):
And and my box pro just frosh saying yours it
