Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Z one. We have a sunny day, so
we can actually see where we need to go today.
And I think this has been a great four hours
so far. Now the bonus hour here is the one hundred.
What's my weather today? Scary? It's actually gonna be a
beautiful sunny day, as you just stated, highs in the
low seventies and then tomorrow clouds with sun again, high
seventy four. It's sixty one degrees right now, it's Z
(00:23):
one hundred. Hey, um yesterday, no, no no, no, no, Saturday.
I was on Instagram and I posted something and I
sort of misspoke, and it as usual, it's I made
a mistake. But because of my mistake I got to
meet a lot of great people on Instagram. I simply said,
rather than sit here and talk talk talk on social media,
I'm gonna shut up and listen. And a lot of
(00:44):
people thought, well, that means you're not gonna say anything,
You're gonna be quiet. And know what that means was
I wanted to stop talking so I could hear what
people are thinking in their heart, their perspective, everything. So anyway,
I met a lot of great I have new friends
I made on Instagram and one of my friends I
met is Kim. Kim is in Brooklyn, and Kim's like, hello,
you need to use your platform to get a message
(01:06):
out there. You can't be quiet, She says. I look
forward to seeing how you use your radio platform to
motivate change. I say, Kim, come on, don't be nervous,
come on the air with us. So we say good
morning to Kim. Hi, Kim, how are you hi? Good morning?
How am I is a loaded question, but yes it is.
I am. I'm okay, I'm I'm doing as well as
(01:27):
I can be considering everything that's going on. Um on
top of that, I'm frustrated, I'm sad, I'm angry, I'm annoyed,
I'm I'm pissed, and you know what, I feel helpless
a lot of the time. But it doesn't it's not
going to stop me from doing what I need to do.
And that's you know, keep going well, Kim. That's the point.
(01:47):
You know, you are many things. I'm glad you didn't
use the word tired, because I know that's one of them.
But this is no time for any of us to
be tired. And I really like your point. You're saying, Hey,
you know what you see a lot of people on streets,
in in their homes, on social media who are outraged.
You don't have to be black to be outraged. I
want you to touch on that for us. Yeah, so, um,
(02:09):
you absolutely do not need to be black to be outraged.
I mean I scan your social media pages a lot.
I I go through and me to comment sometimes. And
I know earlier you are having a conversation that people
are uncomfortable, and you know what, I'm okay with them
being uncomfortable. It doesn't bother me that other people are
uncomfortable when having this conversation, because growth does not come
(02:32):
from being comfortable. You have to be uncomfortable as hell.
To growth, you have to leave your comfort m And
you know, as black people, we don't get to turn
our television off. We don't get to erase social media
and just enjoy the day while the whole world burns
literally and figuratively. We don't get to do that. And
(02:54):
you know the problem still exists for black women, for men,
and for children. And that is a scary part. So
whether we're paying attention or not, things are happening. And
if it takes people being uncomfortable to be able to
have change happen. That's just what we're gonna have to do. Good.
And you know what, let's talk about men and children.
(03:16):
I know you have a man and you have children
in your life, talk about talk about how you're feeling
about them and how they're in the lane today. I'm scared. UM.
We are tired of being hashtags. UM. And I want
everyone to close your eyes for a minute, like close
your eyes. Not if you're driving. If you're drivings, don't
(03:36):
close your eyes, but did claimer uh close your eyes
and just think about the person or the people that
you must that you love most in your life. Picture
that they're being beaten in the back of a police car,
that they're arrested, that their faces smashed on the concrete,
They're they're bleeding, they're screaming for their mother, there's a
(03:57):
knee in their neck. These are the things that happened
that every time they happen. I think of my husband,
I think of my children. I think of my friends
and my family. I have a father, I have uncles,
and these are the things that I have to think of.
(04:17):
These are the things that we have to deal with
on a day to day basis. My my sons walk
in and they're looking at CNN and they're like, oh again.
And I don't want this to be their normal. It's
not fair. I should not have to say to them
when we walk into a store taking hands out your pocket,
we don't want people to think we're taking something. Make
(04:38):
sure you say hi. You don't want to look like
you're a threat. Take your hood office. It is not cold,
because when we walk in stores, antlers go up. This
is not the kind of life I want them to live. Wow.
You know, I had to say thank you, thank you
for being a part of our show today. And uh, look,
you know we we don't of answers. And if I
(05:01):
would be a big liar if I said here and go,
well I've figured it all out, because that would be
just a stupid, stupid statement, because I haven't. And I
do know that holding people accountable for their actions and
not letting them slide is a good step forward. And um,
and that's what we're seeing in this case with George
Floyd and this police officer well not even a police officer,
just an evil man. And accountability with all the officers
(05:24):
that the accountability for them in that scene needs to
take place. But with that said, well, yeah, I just
I'm so happy that you you agreed to come on today, Kim,
and thanks for thanks for talking to me, and thanks
for letting me listen to what you had to say
on while everyone else on the Instagram was beating the
crap out of me. You were very, very kind and
(05:46):
very You've made so much sense to me, and I
appreciate that. Thank you for being the light. Thank you
very much. Of course you know what I saw that
and and I get a lot of it too. I'm
not afraid of anyone, and so if I have something
to say, I will say it. And it bothers me
that people are more angry with the looting and even
the peaceful protesting, like people are not trying to hear it.
(06:08):
People are more upset about that than the fact that
a black man died at the hands of a police officer,
not a black man, another black man. And so when
I see things like that, it makes my blood boil,
because again, we are being deprived of our basic human
rights every single day, whether it's being recorded or not.
(06:31):
And for that reason, I cannot be tired. I have
to keep going because I have two kids that needs
to grow up. They're going to become teenagers, they're going
to become men, and you know what, as sad as
it is, at some point, they're gonna have to go
out into the world on their own. I can always
(06:52):
be there for them for as long as I'm on
this earth, but I cannot always hold their hands. I
need to know that and I let my kids out
into the world and that they're doing the things that
everyone else is allowed to do. I have to know
that they're not being taken advantage of that, they're not
being looked at as a threat because they're black. And
(07:15):
I have to know that if there is an emergency,
that they can call nine one one. As black people,
we have to think long and hard before we call
nine one one. Why Because we need to make sure
that we are not going to be seen as a
threat once that officer arrives on the scene. And that
(07:38):
is something that needs to be fixed. Our justice system
is broken. It is broken. It is broken to the
point where I think that there are some people who
don't think that it can be repaired. This is why
people are angry, this is why people are protesting. And
until those other officers are sorry, I'm gonna let you go,
(08:01):
but as no, no, no, no, no no, I want you.
I don't want you to go till you're done. This.
This is yours today. You go right ahead. Sorry, It's okay.
When the other officers that are responsible for George Floyd's
murder are held accountable, and I don't mean just fired,
they need to be charged. They are an affectively to murder,
(08:23):
if not murderers themselves. Because there are different views to
that video, I think that's when people are gonna let
up and say, Okay, we got what we wanted, because
this is the point of the protests. The point of
the protests is so that our voices are heard. We
should not have to protest every single time this happened.
(08:44):
I don't want to see another long lift of hashtags.
I can't even begin to lift the amount of people
who have suffered but at the hands of law enforcements.
And I don't want anyone to think that I am
saying as the police. That's not what I'm saying. I'm
(09:04):
saying that being against police brutality does not mean that
you are against police. It means that you are against
the injustices that burden black people every single time we
are trying to do the things that are considered normal
for everyone else. If you think of people like both
of them, John Brianna Taylor, Are Tatiana Japisis Sanda Blair.
(09:25):
I mean I can go on forever and I don't
have all that time, and you don't either. But this
is the problem. We are all hashtags just waiting in line,
and that's not the way it should be. Kim. Thank you.
Your perspective is the most important perspective today and I
(09:47):
do appreciate it. I know you moved a conference call you,
you moved a lot of stuff around for us today,
but to have your message on especially calling in from Brooklyn.
How far from Barkley Center are you? I am like
a thirty ish minute drive. Not too far. All right, Look,
be safe and be strong, and never ever ever you
(10:10):
may think you're tired, but you're not. You keep going, Okay,
we need you to keep going. And thank you so
much for being a part of our show today, Kim.
Thank you so much for having me. I appreciate it.
You have a great day, and you know you know
our secret number now, so whatever you need you call us. Okay,
all right, thank you so much. Thank you Kim there
(10:31):
you go. Hey, you know so important. You know, we've
been doing this show all day today and we have
lost along the way. We've lost a lot of people
saying they can't listen and okay, well actually I'm not okay.
You needed to listen to this today. If you had
time to listen, you should have spend time listening to this.
But people saying we'll never listen to you again, those
are the people I'm questioning, like, what what do we
(10:51):
see forever from? I wish you would go look in
the mirror and ask yourself, why do I not want
to listen to them? Because it is I think there
could be answers there. Hey, uh, Alex is here. Good morning, Alex,
good morning. He right made me, made me a burrito.
I made breakfast this morning? You did, And you're you're
sending lunch of course, Alex Staten islander in the house. Uh,
(11:14):
you're sending who's sending lunch to the precincts instead island tomorrow?
So um this week? You know, and I know the
police officers are first of all, I want to start
off the four It should be charged with murder, you
know there he had to protect us police officers are
he had to protect us, and one could have easily
(11:35):
got up and said, hey, man, get off of him,
you know. And that's what they here for, you know,
to protect us, not hurt us. And my dad was
a police officer for twenty two years in New York
City Police Department and he was a good cop. And yes,
we do have bad apples in the group. But this
(11:56):
week I'm sending lunch to all the priestsincts on that
an island just to show them that, you know, we
still care about them. We're not putting them all down
and stuff. We need them. Yeah, we need police officers,
and yes, good ones. No matter what, uh it could
(12:16):
be to fight a potman or mt A whatever. There's
always bad apples in the group, you know, even professes
or no matter what. But I'm gonna be sending lunch
to all the priests iNTS on Staten Island this week
just to say, hey, you know, people are still on
(12:36):
your side even though there are bad apples in the group.
Thank you for doing that. By the way, you keep
feeding people on Staten Island. They're they're they're getting heavy, heavy, heavy.
There's a lot of a lot of eating on State Island.
I don't know what you're doing. You you should not
put up a Peloton dealership or something. But anyway, that's
great and thank you so much. And you look, that's
making a statement because you know a lot of people
(12:57):
right now saying that we can't trust the police, look
at what we're seeing on TV. But no, no, no, no,
there are so many police that we need in as
we know. It's the bad cops. They're bad for the
good cops. Yeah, and I'm hoping that is a lot
more good cops than big cops. No, there aren't, there are,
you know, but they're gonna be eating a lot this
(13:19):
week thanks to you, and we appreciate it. I love you.
I love you. With that said, let's get into the
three things you need to know from Gandhi. Gandhi, Hello,
what is going on right now? Well, the city is
still picking up the pieces after this weekend's protests. Police
officials are still processing a huge number of arrests. As
of six o'clock this morning, police say two and fifty
people were arrested, including Mare de Blasio's daughter, and a
(13:42):
number of officers were actually injured as protesters classed with
police for the fourth straight night. Here there were storefronts
damage damaged and businesses looted, especially in Soho. The number
of number of people arrested is around one thousand in
total since Thursday. Dentists can reopen in New York today
with social distancing measures in place. Dentists and hygienists will
(14:04):
be wearing masks, eye protection gloves, and protective clothing. It
almost sounds like they're gonna be in hazmat suits while
they're doing your dental procedures. But there will also be
staggered staff and a fewer people in the office at
a time, So if you need to go get some
things done with your mouth, finally you can get your
get to your dentists. And we talked about this earlier.
A lot of police officers were using TikTok to send
messages of support. But now TikTok is catching a little
(14:27):
bit of heat because users noticed that the hashtags black
Lives Matter and George Floyd were not able to be
tagged and videos were unable to be viewed. TikTok is
saying it was a random glitch in the system that happened.
It wasn't us censoring things, but a lot of TikTokers
are still unhappy about it, and they have lost some subscribers,
and those are your three thing. Hey, you know what,
(14:47):
I think that the dental hygienists and the dentist should
have been wearing hazmat suits all along anyway, because I
know when I go get my teeth clean, it's like
an entire port shop will fly across the room. I'm like,
can you like a waterfall of spin? Can you would
imagine what they encounter. I'll never do that job. I
can never do that. I'd be gagging in your mouth.
(15:07):
It would not be good. All right, Well, at least
the dentists are open, I'm sure. Gosh, with all the
time that we've had not we haven't been allowed to
go the desentist a lot of cleaning. They're gonna find
a lot of real estate between those teeth. Uh, let's
take a break. We're back after this. And by the way,
this is our last week of doing the Bonus Hour
on You're listening to a bonus hour of Elvis Durrand
(15:33):
in the Morning Show. Here's Elvis see one hundred the
Bonus Hour. A beautiful sunny day. Because I just got
a text from Brody said, you know what, I really
miss pandemic news. Okay, Uh, you know, Governor Cuomo did say, uh,
New York has gone through hell and back with a coronavirus,
(15:54):
but we are on the other side. An additional fifty
six deaths reported, so it's not over. We're just also
saying that after all of these rallies and all the
protests going on in New York City and in the area,
we're wondering if there's going to be a spike in
two weeks, and if there isn't, We're just wondering, like,
what's going on. I'm not saying I don't want to
(16:15):
I don't want to spike. I don't want that at all.
But you wonder they've been telling us we can't leave phone,
can't leave phone, can't leave home. And then now people
are in close quarters and for good reason most of them.
And then now if it doesn't spike, it makes you
wonder like, well, why is it not spreading? Uh, We'll see,
you know, if this is all you know what, believe
it or not. Through the news and through the the protest.
(16:36):
This is an experiment in a way. We gotta keep
an eye on that. Of course, it's happening for different reasons.
What's Max doing? You know what you know, working from
home and taking Max out for a walk. Everyone so
els be peas on the tree and running back in.
That's a lot of fun. Um. I want to get
the perspective. Hey, Nate, you and Scary and Scotty B
had to come find a way into Tribeca today and
(16:58):
it was like working a puzzle, wasn't it? Tell us
what you saw when you arrived after a last night's protests, Yeah,
it's soho as you probably heard three different news outlets,
was really just decimated. I mean they you know, a
lot of the stores were broken into, looted, a lot
of the high end retail and as a result, they
shut down most of the streets around that area. So
(17:20):
it took me about twenty minutes to go five city
blocks because so many streets were shut down. Traffic it
was only going in one direction. And as you're driving
along you see broken glass windows, boarded up, people still
hanging out on street corners, police officers everywhere, lights flashing
reflecting off the buildings. It's uh, it was it was
(17:43):
concerning same coming in from Jersey. It was the same
thing coming through the Holland Tunnel. Um the area by
the first precinct blocked off, of course, on both sides,
and then I went through a battery of different streets
to get over to the radio station, and uh, yeah,
people was still out from last night. And uh, you know,
(18:04):
you know, we do what we can, so but I'm
happy I'm here today. And uh that's it. I'm happy
you're all here today. Thank god. I'm happy to see
your faces on Zoom. Well hello, well, I mean I mentioned, uh,
this is the last week of the z On Bonus
Hour for now. Anyway, we were originally just going to
(18:24):
do that for a week. You know, how long have
we been doing that. We've been doing this for a
while a month. Someone was someone was asking, why are
you gonna stop doing it? I was like, I'll tell
you because mama needs a nap. Uh anyway, Wow, large
(18:45):
crowds of protesters expecting again today and uh, let's let's
see where the day takes us. And you know, it
was first Saturday night. I was thinking, let's let's hope
this is the first night where the protests are peaceful,
because those are the important ones. And then it didn't
happen that way. Then then last night, maybe tonight to night.
Hey it's Sunday, maybe people are no so here we
(19:08):
are it's Monday night. Let's let's see how it goes tonight. UM.
I do find it interesting. And I said this earlier
that we we do. We do so so appreciate the
world of peaceful protests and the ability in the need
to do it. But when you have a violent protest
that so happens to happen in front of the Gucci store,
(19:29):
this was like, wow, you know that didn't happen in
front of learners. It was in front of no offense
to learners. You know. I'm just wondering how the governor,
the governors of our states will address today. I'm very
curious to see what they have to say after this weekend. Uh,
let's go around for some Let's can we go around
the room. Do you guys have been around the room
(19:50):
in yet? I think you music is scary hit a Maestro, Hey,
Froggy and beautiful Jacksonville. We'll start with you. What's going on?
You know, I I saw your post. I know you
took it down on Saturday night. You were talking to
Max and you were envying him not being able to
understand what is going on in our world. And so
when I look at my puppies, I see the same thing,
(20:11):
innocence and love, and they don't understand. And my neighbors
that live next door and we have two younger children,
and I watched them yesterday playing and I just thought
to myself, what I would give to be young, or
be a puppy and not have to deal with any
of this and just live your life in your own
little world and you're just happy and everything's okay. And
as you get older, you realize what's going on. And
(20:32):
I hope that as these people do get older, they're
the change that we need so that we can stop
going through this over and over and over again. Amen. Amen,
Well you're not a puppy and you're not a kid,
So let's let's get to work. We're doing it. Hey, Gandhi,
what's up with you today? I want to hear what's
on your mind and in your heart? What's up? Ah? Man?
(20:53):
I just wanted to say I love you guys so much.
I mean, I already know that, and we talked about it,
but when I started off this morning, I knew it
was going to be an interesting day, and I sort
of braced myself for it to be a bad day,
and I started off in a really bad mood, and
obviously when we started the show, I was a little
teary and just anxious and not in a good place.
And as the morning has gone on, I feel so
much better. I don't know if it's just talking about
(21:14):
it and getting things off my chest and hearing that
there are other people who agree with me, or if
it's that you guys make me laugh and I just
love you so much. But whatever it is, this show
really helps me personally out a lot today and through
a lot of things. And I appreciate you guys so
much for that. I love you. We'll back at you, Gandhi,
we love you. Hey, Scary, what's up? Well? I just
I just wanted to say that I liked coming in
(21:36):
here and listening to everything today. All the callers that
called in, I hung on every word. Um, my eyes
are opened. I wanted I want to make sure that
that we stay on Brandon on message and and and
um we don't forget the memory of George Floyd and
uh and I want I want to make sure that
you know these protests remain I'm hoping we have a
(21:58):
peaceful night of testing and and it doesn't go beyond that,
because so I don't want the news headlines to take
over like they have this weekend with other things. That's all.
You're all right, my sister, Danielle. You know, when we
started the show today, I was very very worried about you.
You seem like you just had no oxygen left in you.
(22:20):
How are you doing today? Now? I'm doing better, And
I just want to say that I love seeing the pictures,
and I posted a couple of them off like a
black child and a white child hugging each other or
just like being friends and sucking each other's cheeks and faces,
because it just shows you that you're not born with
(22:40):
hate in your heart, and you couldn't care less as
a child to one another person looks like exactly, And
you know, it's just shows you how much love little
kids have for one another, and they just want to
play with each other and have a good time. And
I just wish that we could go through our entire
lives that way, feeling like children do like that, And
(23:03):
it's just it's so awesome to see all those cute
pictures and I just wish that, you know, everybody could
start at home and just teach the right things and
teach you know, to love all and how much you
could learn from each other and just you know, to
be happy. It's really all about love and loving one
another and learning things. And I don't know. It really
(23:26):
should be easy. It really should be. It's just sad
that it's not. It should be. And you're saying you
wish we could be like the kids and just kiss
each other. We can't do it. Doesn't mean you can
kiss kids kiss right now. You need to wear a mask.
So you know you shouldn't be sucking anybody right now.
But you don't know what I mean, Dude, You shouldn't.
(23:50):
You shouldn't be sucking anyone right now. Oh, I can't
wait till the day. Hey again, you know, one of
the wonderful moments of our day was having Dr Michael
Eric Dyson on earlier and that interview is already posted
at Elvis Durand dot com. Uh, that was just what
a moment or two we had with him. And I
believe we're gonna start putting it up on another social
(24:10):
as well. Listen, we gotta take a break. It's our
last week of the Bonus Hour and one hundred. But
we're back with you. You're listening to a bonus hour
of Elvis Durand and the one hundred Morning Show. Here's Elvis.
It is the one hundred, it is the Bonus Hour.
It is a beautiful day. Uh gosh, you know we're
hearing reports from Philly that, uh, you know, their fire
(24:32):
department in Philly reported to over three hundred fires since Saturday,
three over three hundred. Governor Murphy and Murphy and New
Jersey says they are pushing for a careful opening of
Atlantic City July on. You go, scary, you can spin
(24:53):
a whale. Going back to here we go. Let's get
into the daniel for Danielle. You've got lots of good
stuff today. Where do you want to go? Where do
you want to start? All right? So, first of all,
celebs of course uniting with the world and demanding justice
for George Lloyd Christ Jenner, Dwayne the Rock, Johnson, Reese Witherspoon,
Vanessa Bryant, all taking to social for all different things,
(25:16):
and um, some of them just saying don't ignore something
because it makes you feel uncomfortable, simple as that. Uh,
Kylie Jenner. By the way, this is for everybody who
just needed a little break from everything. We are finding
out she's not as rich as she said she is.
My good look at that. Forbes actually did an extensive
(25:36):
investigation into her wealth and they said that the numbers
were inflated. She is actually disputing it right now, but
they're saying nope, sorry. Uh. Lady Gaga actually canceled her
Chromatic A listening party because everything that was happening. She said,
obviously right now, that is not what's important. Also, we
are still following everything with COVID nineteen and David Guetta
(25:58):
wanted to do his part, so he hosted a hashtag
United at Home, n y C this weekend. He wanted
to get people up dancing uh, and he wanted to
raise some money, so he didn't manage to raise about
four hundred and fifty thousand dollars UM, so that was
pretty cool. Some celebs that were out and about at
some rallies that were going on machine Gun Kelly, so
people saw him there without any like um security. He
(26:23):
was by himself. So one person that was tweeting that
he was there waited until Machine Gun Kelly left and
then tweeted that I'm waiting till he leaves because I
don't want people to know he's here because he doesn't
have security with him, so he didn't want to alert
everybody that he was there on his own. So that
was nice to do, you know, because you never know.
You never know what's gonna happen. Also, some things that
(26:44):
I was following, okay, so I thought that it was
kind of interesting. Actually, you know what, Now, I'm gonna
do this story tomorrow. Celebrities that are the same age
but you would never know it. I'm actually gonna say
this story for tomorrow. I found it very interesting because
some of these celebrities you look at them and you're like,
there's no way that the same age, but they are.

So Viacom CBS is actually gonna do their part their platforms, CBS,
B E, T, and MTV. They're gonna go dark today
for eight minutes and forty six seconds. They're gonna mark
that marks the time in which George Floyd was brutally killed,
and that's going to be a tribute to him and
other victims of racism. So that is going to be
going on later on today and that is my Danielle Report.
(27:35):
We've had so many great moments on this show today,
but I have to say one of my favorites was
uh in talking about the evil at that time police
officer who murdered George Floyd. Gandhi looked up and said,
let's be honest, he's just a butt holes. So much
more than that, but that's exactly like. Okay, I'll take that.
(27:58):
I'll add that to the list of things. He is
a butt hole? Yeah, yeah, because you know the word
butt hole, it's just so descriptive. I mean, it reminds
me of a cat walking away. You see it. You know,
it's like your cat, Damne, the tails are up and
you see this puckered up little thing. It's like, anyway,
thanks for being so descriptive. I appreciate that. I want
(28:19):
to play a song. What time do we have to
be out for? You said? Would be nice? Man? Why
are we always leaving? Makes me crazy? Uh? What do

of spreading love, spreading animosity, lack of understanding leading was

(32:44):
hour today. I leave you with a very special song. Now,
this is a request from a dedication to So when
I met on Instagram this weekend Dr Williams, I wanted
to have her on today, but she's she's very busy.
But I spoke with her last night on the phone.
Dr Williams moved to New York from the Caribbean twenty
years ago, and she reminded me in our conversation that,
(33:05):
you know, Elvis, where I lived in the Caribbean, there
was no skin color. Skin color wasn't a thing. It
was just you had skin. It's really what it was.
She says it wasn't until she came to New York
twenty years ago that she saw that there definitely was
an issue with people of different skin color against people
of different skin color. Now she has a doctor, she's
a mom, she's she's great. I love talking to her.
(33:28):
And and she said, first of all, please play the
phone tap tomorrow. She said, I know you're planning on
doing it. We need a phone tap. I said, okay,
what do you say, Dr Williams. And then she said,
there's a song I want you to play that all
of us in the Caribbean are very familiar with from
the one and Only Bob Marley. It's called Redemption Song.
It's a matter of fact, this is a song that
a lot of musicians look up to, saying it's probably
(33:49):
the most perfect song ever written for many reasons. The
history behind this song, part of it, anyway, is at
the very end of the nineteen seventies, Uh, Bob Marley
was uh he was he was dying. He had cancer,
cancer of the toe, which is I remember hearing that story.
I'm like, I've never heard of that before. But he
was obviously going through a very frightening time in his life,
(34:11):
and he was such a big influence, especially across the
Caribbean and around the world. He wanted everyone, Bob Marley
wanted to let everyone know he was going to be
all right in his next journey, and he wanted everyone
to know that his in his own Rastafarian faith, it
was giving him the strength and what must have been
a very time of pain and fear for him. And
(34:32):
as the song progresses, he turns his gaze outward and
when I said, Gays g a z e outward towards
his fans. And I'm reading this, I'm reading this on
this from online, and he says he wanted to give
words of advice that you need to emancipate yourselves from
mental slavery. Only you can free yourself in your mind.
(34:58):
And that's what this saw is about. So as we
leave you on our bonus hours E one hundred, we
give you Bob Marley from a very special time in
his lives, in his life, and as we give it
to you at a very very important time in your life.
This is Redemption song on Z one hundred. We'll see
