Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
firm Elvis Represents show Now, can you do an accent? Said?
They a bit of British one. That's a very shitty one.

(00:26):
I could do better. I need to hear an accent
and then I can always mimic it. But like, off
the top of my head, not so great for me.
It's a keyword crokey and I'm in the my Australian accent,
it's really not that good. That's a word. I got nothing, nothing,
not even Italian. I got nothing that's not offensive, which
is like scary m brody. Whatever accent they do, it

(00:49):
always sounds like every other accent they do. So it's
like their Chinese is, their Italian is their Indians. They're
trying to be the Indian. How bad is that? Because
I don't know what would an Indian accent sound like?
Are you even able to do it? Yeah? I mean
I could do like my parents my mom, so my
mom has a bit of a British Indian accent. My
dad has the Indian Indian accent. He'll always be like,
what's up, man, what's going on? That's really good? Use

(01:12):
r vs. I'll tell you why. My my Indian action
is bad and that is because of watching the Simpsons
all these years. Screwed it up because I grew up
watching a Pooh and like this, would you like a slush?
Because what guy doing an Indian accents? I was like
you right? So? Because that that is what That's what
I emulated. Unfortunately, that is the outcome of my Indian

(01:35):
accent bus rides because of a Pooh. Yeah, every time
I would get off the bus, the entire freaking bus,
thank you come again. Unfortunately, because of Speedy Gonzalez my
Mexican accents. You want to get lucky, man, I don't
even know stereotypes. Unfortunately here did you know Speedy Gonzalez

(02:00):
had a slow cousin called slow Poke Rodriguez? Are you kidding?
He talk like how did they get away with that?
They can't? You can't get away with any of that.
Have you ever watched I tried watching a Warner Brothers
cartoon on the cartoon very melodies. I tried watching one

(02:20):
the other day on the cartoon. I'm like, you would
not be able to do this, and you could tell
it with this, Yeah, it was the Chicken Hawk, Like
you could not do that? Now, I mean I felt
uncomfortable watching it. But as a kid, you're like fun leghorn.

(02:41):
I'll say. So as a minority, I think that we
are getting a little out of control with what you
can and can't say and what people think is offensive
and not offensive. And I will say people get more
offended for me than I ever am. So it's really
not like how do you celebrate another culture? Now, it's
almost like any type of celebration or not all I
can do and then it's cultural appropriate. And we started
on that, and there's certain things that aren't even you know, offensive,

(03:06):
but people are making offensive because they have nothing to
do with it. Like that story that just came out
about was it Walgreens or Beyond will no longer sell
black pumpkins because they think that the black Jack O'Lantern
is offensive because some people said it reminds them a
black face. So just because some people said on social media,
they're deciding, okay, you know what we're gonna we're gonna
step away from this, we're gonna discontinue it. So that

(03:29):
means anyone could say anything anywhere online and it could
be a minority opinion meaning small just like five people
complain about it, and they get the store and entire
corporation to its knees. Well, your your impressions that you
did a few minutes ago could offend somebody, and then
we'll have to take this podcast down now, don't not
doing it. You know the point where I realized there

(03:49):
was no turning back. Remember last year, I think you
were with us last year, Elvis had a problem with
his eye, and we were joking about him being the
one I DJ and making all sorts of pirate jokes,
like you know, we're talking about the fact that he
was detaching and he might have to wear an eyepatch.
That day, somebody tweeted at him and said, as somebody

(04:09):
with one eye, I find that joking offensive. I'm like,
are you kidding me? As I thought you'd have a
sense of humor. We were making a joke. We were kidding.
We don't want him to lose his eye, of course not.
I'm trying to make light of the situation because he's
freaking out a bit. More often than not, it's people
getting offended for other people. So people two eyes are

(04:30):
calling in or texting saying that was offensive. I'm getting
offended for those people. Also. I want to. Whenever people
say how dare you? And when things start with shame
on you, I'm like, you already lost me because I'm
an adult and I don't need you to shame on me.
That's annoying, but it gets to the point where it's like, Okay,
you're yelling at me about thinking this was funny. I
would like to see a list of things you find

(04:50):
funny and tell you how all of that is wrong.
And you're offending somebody somewhere. It's just like you laugh
at jokes. They come from a place of discomfort. I know.
I had. I had somebody that was list thing to
the show one day and we were talking about the
stroke I had, and we made a couple of jokes,
right as we do all the time, as we do,
and as I'm okay with it, and she emails me this,
this really vociferous email about how can you? How dare

(05:13):
you talk about strokes and making jokes about you know,
slurring your speech at lady, I had, I had one.
This is my life. I will joke about my life
the way I freaking want to. And the worst part
of that is that woman will now go start a
Facebook fan page or group page against you and that comment,
and now people will join that because you could pretty

(05:34):
much be a cheerleader for anything in this world, right,
and then people will rally behind you and it it
becomes a cult, just like Nate's heart mine was. I
think everybody was having milkshakes in here, like one of
those crazy asked milkshakes with everything on top, candy and uh.
I think Elvis said do you want some to me,
and me, knowing that I'm a diabetic, said no, I'll

(05:56):
get more diabetes. So that led to people online going
crazy in the sense of how dare you offend diabetics?
And I go, I'm making fun of myself. I'm not
saying that the rest of the world is going to
get more diabetes. If you have said milkshake, I'm going
to get more you know that you cannot get more diabetes. Well,
that's the other part of the stupidity. It's just too far,

(06:20):
it's too far out of control, and I it's driving
me insane. I'm like, how do we do our jobs?
How do we laugh at anything? Someone's yelling at me
about something every single day. I have no idea. Yeah,
I think still doing a pretty good job. That would be.
But you know, I shed a tear every time we
can't play an old phone tap from eight years ago,
because you know, like if sometimes phone taps are you know,
what was funny then is not funny now. Elvis has

(06:42):
talked about this on the on the Big Show. Here's
the thing, it's still funny. Some people are just more
offended now than they were before. There's still a lot
of funny. We're more sensitive these days. I will say,
there's some things where you realize, wow, I can't believe that.
And even shows and stuff I was watching. I've never
really watched The Office, watched the sexual harassment episode and

(07:03):
I'm like, oh my god, I can't believe they got
away with this. It was almost uncomfortable to watch because
I had never seen The Office and taken out of
context watching something like that. It was so uncomfortable because
we're in this society today of you can't do this anymore, right,
You're like throwing flags at the TV flag on the
Plage Diversity Day. The Diversity Day is amazing. The gay

(07:25):
witch Hunt, No, the gay witch Hunt of all of them,
that one is the episode that will put you over
the edge. Okay, scary just got pulled out of the studio,
but it's okay. He doesn't really add anything is going
to push this over thee. But do you think it's
all like the it's the circle of life though, like
everything comes around again where the stuff that we can't
play eventually down the road. Not that it will be okay,

(07:48):
but there'll be a time where it can get played
and no one will like harp on everybody. I don't know.
Maybe at some point, I mean, I think if we're
all at the point where like, I'm sick of this,
this is ridiculous, think there would be a moment Gandhi
where you reach a point you're like, you know what,
I'm not taking anymore. I can't do it, and then
you just stop. You just stopped working, stop because you
can't take the joining us. Because I think, knowing myself

(08:11):
and how stubborn I am, I think before I say,
if I'm not doing this anymore, I'm just gonna start
fighting with every single person that has some ship to
say because I got time having kids. We're talking about
Scotty be just joined us. We're talking about how people
are all snowflakes now and we can't get away with

(08:31):
anything and episodes of our favorite TV shows that would
never be allowed to fly. I said, as a homework assignment,
go watch the Gay witch Hunt from the office and
report back to me. Oh my god, there was There
was an episode of Chips when I was a kid, Chips,
let's get in the time machine, folks. I don't know
why I thought of that, But there's so many You

(08:52):
can't say any of that crappy. Can you give us
an example? No, da, I thought was gonna get No,
I can't. And and all these shows like from We
were kids, like Different Strokes and all those things. You
can't play any of that stuff anywhere, but they still do. Yeah,
did you guys, did you guys talk about All in
the Family? I know that's so old and I was
I was not even born when that show came out,

(09:13):
But to watch that stuff now, it's unbelievable to me
that they even still play it. You know, it's weird
because when I was taking TV radio courses, you know,
an intro to media and all that stuff, they pointed
to All in the Family as a page turner for television.
That's when TV got real with their comedies and dealt
with racism and issues of that day. So it was

(09:36):
actually highly revered at that show at the time time,
and I think people missed because my dad used to
watch that show and he would talk about it all
the time, and he said it was a social commentary
on how stupid people who actually thought that way were,
versus it actually being just this ridiculous. That's what that
was in the textbook, right. But the one that gets
me all the time is he's the one I was
really little. I wasn't allowed to watch TV till I

(09:57):
was like fifteen. He would watch Married with Children all
the time. I DVRR now because I'm like, let's see
what my dad was laughing so freaking hard at and
that show. I can't believe they even played again anymore.
I mean the amount that he goes in on like
fat women, and then it shows the fat women he's
talking about. They're not even that follow like today's standards
of what fat and like obesity is. Those women were

(10:19):
just like big bone, they were like thick. I watched
an episode of that with some friends and it was
do you remember the Newdy Bar episode where he takes
Bud to Theudi bar and every every I don't know,
people our age they know that whole at the Nuty
Bar scene. But I couldn't believe how much they got
away with on that show, and not even what they

(10:40):
got away with what was acceptable back then. What do
you think change? Like? Why is every everyone stole up? Like?
And it really all started with the Super Bowl? That's
where it all started. I think that's was the beginning
of the end. I'm gonna rip at to you all
right there, Andrew Best and Andrew joining us. It started

(11:01):
with Twitter and social media and everyone thinking that the
minute they get a retweet from a news reporter that
their opinion is valid. It's not. I agree, and that
just because you have something to say that you should say.
The minute news articles started publishing people's tweets in the articles,
it gives makes you think that you have a valid opinion.
The minute people started doing podcasts and expressing their opinion, Yes,

(11:22):
let me out there. So there you got the timeline.
There is two thousand seven, two thousand and eight, whereas
the Janet Jackson thing was two thousand four. So I
think Andrew might be onto something. Social media gave everyone
an opinion, and their opinion isn't always right. Now, if
you had to pay to tweet life would be very different. Yeah, okay,
so everybody here believes in freedom of speech, right, do

(11:43):
you think everybody should have a voice though? No, God no.
But when it count your pissing, you can say whatever
you want to do. I think you should be able
to say that. No, I'm not gonna stop you because
it's but most people hide behind, you know, social media,
and there are things that I would never say to
your face. But about that's improved door. But people will.

(12:08):
People will will type or write anything you know, but
they'll never say it to you. Like you think people
that gandhi, people that say crap to you on Twitter,
would ever come up to you and say, dude, your
eyes are freaking huge. They wouldn't. I don't know. I
mean I did go to middle school and that sounded
like but as an adult, I don't think people would
come up to you and just say nasty cry. They wouldn't.
And you notice it because a lot of times some

(12:29):
of the stuff that makes me laugh, especially like the
grammar is terrible, and they're going off on how stupid
I am. I'll repost it, and then they have the
balls to say to me, how dare you post something
like that, I'm getting bullied. I'm like, what planet is
this that you think it's okay to tell me not
to do that? You started it. I hate everyone. Well,
I think if you say that to their face, no,

(12:49):
he says it to me every day. I think if
you're verified account, those are the only accounts that should
be ever put in a news article. Otherwise, like storm
lover for two one should not be honest the ann
article being like, hey, guys, here's what I heard. You
didn't hear anything, no sense? Frogs one, no, why why

(13:12):
do they have any anything? Remember that one with Elvis
one off on Sarah Patriot eighty eight and then she
was like, I cannot believe you guys would do this,
and I'm sorry that you would take it and you
have this same freedom. Weird, it's weird to blame on
that because we gave her validity. We were the ones
who put her out there and shined a light on

(13:32):
you were the news source in that sense, we were
the ones who published it. Everybody has a boiling point,
and I think we all reached our point with her.
You know, it just gets old all of the like,
shame on you, How dare you say that I'm like,
get it out of your word. Police. Yeah, it's just
because you don't want to hear it doesn't make it illegal,
and it doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to
say it. Everything is canceled and the word woke buried

(13:54):
like love Jesus. Complain about stuff don't know about your
or there or any of the right stuff, and it
drives me up a wall. If you're gonna bitch and
complain about something, at least use the right form of
a word right and doesn't take like all your energy
not to right back something so shitty because you're like,
this is gonna make me look bad. But if you
don't know that you're your two two and two, don't

(14:15):
worry about what is going on in my life. Worry
about your lack of education, and you cannot blame it
on auto correct. Look at it before you send it, Michael.
That was voiced to text. My favorite comeback I've ever
had was my girlfriend's got big guys like you gandhi
yeah somebody yeah, somebody said, hey, you your your girlfriend
should really get checked for graves disease. So then I
replied with, well, how about I put you in a

(14:37):
grave like the best feeling I've ever had. And I
normally don't do that ship, but every once in a while,
you just gotta let go, and I appreciate you for that. Nate,
we all all reach the boiling point. How many tweets
do you have in your unsafe drafts? That's a question.
Let's go through Andy's right now, the fifteen minute Morning
