Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, what would you talk about on your on
your podcast Elvis Presents Show. Well, it's just the men
or the boys and Great Tea. Hello everybody. Yes, well,

(00:23):
Elvis is signing books live on the YouTube right now
on Elvis d rand Uh the Elvis Durrant Show on YouTube,
and Danielle and Gandhi are hosting that. So that leaves
us with the podcast in the other the old studio,
the old morning show studio. By the way, Great Tea
is still here. Yeah, he's here until next Monday, which
is the seventh, right October seven? Yeah, well the six

(00:44):
whatever it is, um, whoever you are that feels the
need to change our Wikipedia page. You don't work here,
don't change your Wikipedia page. Who does that? Over the weekend, somebody,
somebody made you pass tense former. They put you into
former member to the Trains topic, Well, nobody, that's why
it's a Wikipedia. That's what Wicky means and could change.

(01:05):
They made they made topic train a former bit on
the show. They took you out a list of members
of the show. Perfect, Yeah, no, thank you. But I
put him back. I undid all the edits and put
him back. How do you undo the edits? Anyway, dude,
Come on, man, I don't know how to use Wikipedia.
How do you That's what a wicky means. Fire. It's
like a Google doc. You go there, you hit edit

(01:27):
and you change. You know, you could do that. Anybody
can get on any Wikipedia anyone, But you really is
this a podcast? Or before the podcast? Jacket and natawearing jackets.
So I'm figured, my guess is getting scary? Is going somewhere?
Doesn't want us to know? Where are you going? You're
going somewhere, aren't you? Maybe it's else where you going?

(01:49):
It's one of those lunches not everyone's invite transparent. Well,
it's all about if you must know know? Yeah, what's
the big deal attempt already the studio where we do
our show and where I keep my jacket, I was
gonna be off limits because they're recording their thing with
Gandhi and Danyelle. Okay, doing a live stream for I

(02:10):
was his book signing on for lunch with who I'm
not going for lunch anywhere? Why you gotta wear a jacket? Well,
because my jacket was next door and I got it
out of there before they started using the studio. You
could have just held on to why do you have
to wear it? Because, as I said, Nate and Garrett
were in there, so why shouldn't I wear mine? He's
such a follower, man, God, can't just carry your jacket?
I got to wear the jacket. Why are you making

(02:30):
a big deal about this? Who cares? He wants to
put on his jacket? Protesting? Protest that scares wearing a jacket.
As of Tuesday of next week, four hours of this
on another radio. By the way, can I just say so,
when Greg Teas announcement was impending, we're like, well, how
long should we give him on the air? Three weeks?
Two weeks? And Elvice is like one right right, by

(02:54):
the way, So one of his future co workers was
on the radio yesterday promoting the fact that right T
starts today on the other station. Yeah, maybe someone should
have told them that any way to get him over there.
They're launching the new show tomorrow. We we have some
changes to make over there. There's some changes or some changes.
Do you feel like, what do you think it's gonna

(03:15):
be the biggest challenge being the boss? Um? And I
know you're not the boss, but I mean you're you're
you're seriously you're in charge of the show now along
with Carolina. UM. I think that there was a way.
I don't know the words. I don't know. I don't know, no, no, no.

(03:39):
I just don't know who's gonna listen to this, So
I don't know if I should say it out loud.
That's why. So I don't know who's listening to I
don't know who listens to this, And I'll be like, right, right, um,
I there's just a way that that that Elvis has
taught us how to do things in the business, and
there's there's a certain standard that Elvis um wants us
to can maintain right and work in that kind of

(04:02):
environment at a certain standard. And I think that other
radio stations, not just the one I'm going to, but
other ones, you know, across the country or whatever, may
not be up to that kind of a standard, or
they think that the standard that they're working yet is sufficient.
But when you've realized, when you've worked with Elvis and
you've worked here at the flagship station of ZE one hundred,

(04:23):
there are certain things that get done in a certain
way and the other stations I don't know that. So
that's the hardest part that I've already running to are
you a missionary? Are you saying that, I'm not saying
you need to go there and fix them. I did
not say that, And that's why I'm watching. They have

(04:45):
running water down there right the toilets. That's why I'm
watching every word I said that. You know what I'm saying, like, um,
having I think I'm the only one in this room
they can really speak to this having been at other stations. Yes,
you know exactly what you're talking about, right is in
radio terms, this is the New York Yankees correctly correct,
correct of radio stations. But those news is a large

(05:08):
part of the people where you're going have worked here,
not only some of them, no one. That is to
greg T's point, Um, we are accustomed to a pace
and energy in the morning. We know that there's It's
like every morning is like an hour glass where the

(05:30):
sand starts at the top representing all the listeners, and
as it goes to the bottom, we're losing listeners because
people are getting into work and hold on, hold on,
hold on. So we are action packed in the morning.
This show doesn't sit on its ass. This show is
always doing a lot. Greg T wants to inject that

(05:54):
lightning in a bottle, those those energetic moments into what
he's doing. Because other morning show, let's face it, Nate
can speak to this point, aren't as as they don't.
They don't do their show with convictions, with with time.
You don't say everyone, no, no, don't put you said

(06:18):
other morning shows, I don't know what we're talking about.
Is the one he's going to know. What I'm saying
is there's a sense of urgency on this show to
entertain and be active and take it away. I think
safe safe translate some of that. So yeah, I think
partly because we provide at the end of the day
two hours of content in addition to another two hours

(06:42):
of songs and commercials. Of the two hours is a
very long time to be speaking. Coming up with hundred
and twenty eight minutes of unique content every morning, of
which Greg t showed a lot of other morning shows
maybe thirty five, and that's not insignificant. That's still a
lot of material. Yeah, I just think Elvis also like,
do you know, we've worked with consultants, We've worked with

(07:05):
people that have you know, taught how taught a big
group of people how to work, how to not always
talk over each other. How to maneuver within a conversation. Well,
there's been a lot of practice through the twenty five
years we've been together. There's been a lot of practice
of roles, role playing and who talks when and what
do you talk about? And how do you stay on conversation?

(07:25):
What makes a phone call ring? You know, like just
all these kind of things, whereas other places may not
know those things. So that's what I was saying. Yeah,
So I think the most difficult task is to not
put anybody down and not say you're doing it the
wrong way, but to try to interject, Uh, some of
the things that I've learned working with the Yankees of radio,

(07:49):
I will say, is you won't get the things that
happened here and work ethic andtality over there. But by
no means get a slam to other shows around the
country anyone. But it's just a different vibe at different pace.
He wants to inject some of that into where he's
going now, and I respect that. The one thing I

(08:09):
did learn from Elvis, and I really and I said,
I even told Nate this, I did. It was like
last week we talked. I said, the one thing I
definitely learned from Elvis is that Elvis is very methodical.
He does things super slow, and when it gets perfect,
then he will advance to the next the next level.
But when we first started the show, it was not
quite how it is today. We started years ago, it

(08:31):
was like you can fart on the microphone and everything
was just fine. Now we've kind of like manicured in
a little bit. Microphone is gold, microphone is gold time
right now it needs radio has changed yet, rating right? Everything? Yeah,
And you know, and also think about this. You know,
the the one um advertiser that we work very closely

(08:54):
with almost you know, kind of like runs their company
in the same way. So PC Richard and Son, for instance,
when PC Richard's son when they open up a new store,
which we've all learned, uh, they and they take over
an old spot, they don't immediately come in there and
like change the face of it or change everything. They
keep the face and everything the way it is and
they just put their their logo on it. They don't

(09:14):
want to scare people away as if we're brand new
and this is the way it's gonna be done. They
still want that community to feel like that store that
they were used to is that store, but you're gonna
get better service now because now you've got PC Richard,
you know, is the flagship of that you know that
storefront now. So what they do is instead like if
let's say it looked like I don't know, let's say
it looks like a Coals at one point, you know,

(09:35):
but now Coals is not there, and PC Richard takes
it over, chopping companies just to take him over to
your new show. You know what I'm saying. They don't know,
They don't They don't change the the outlook of the
whole entire store. They just put their logo on it.
Right sitting here, like, no outside the business want to
know what shows sit on their ask that you were

(09:56):
talking about, so you know what they So I'm not
looking to come in there and like change things up overnight,
you know. I'm looking to come in, get my feet wet,
figure everything out, and then maybe a little by little
I can insert some ideas. So are you getting your
next tattoo after your last show? Here? I am gonna
get a tattoo. Yeah it's coming up. Really wore at

(10:18):
this show? Are you gonna go straight and get I
don't know exactly when, but it's gonna happen within the
next weeks. Is it going to be a tattoo of okay, tattoo,
It's just gonna be a little something, a little something
about you know that will always remind me of what
I've been going through and having to make a tough decisions.
And let me just get a shirt with our logo
on it. I want a tattoo. Hey, Garet, did you

(10:40):
did you remember to plug your mic in today? But
oh good, because last podcast you were off of it
and I had to answer all that. By the way,
I'm the official guy that people tweet when something doesn't
work ahead that don demand shows not up at David
Brody go, yeah, we'll ask Att Garrett vo because he's
the past. I understand that. But they're like, hey, some
guy didn't have his mic in, Like, let me ask

(11:01):
you guys something. So let's so Monday is my last shot, right,
what's it gonna be like? Tuesday is a Tuesday morning? Comes? Oh,
that's easy, It's like tunesday when you're it's like a
Tuesday when you're doing wave of claims on fantasy you
won't be here and then so what I think Thursday
will realize you're not here. But have you given that
any thought? Like what's that feel like? Yeah? Like the

(11:21):
days that you sit at your desk with your head down,
just more in a row. You don't have to like
you have to figure out who's gonna curse the copy machine.
Other than that, when you're replaced, gotcha, gotcha? All right? Yeah,
I think by Thursday, because I really will miss you guys.
Come Tuesday. I'm gonna miss you too. Tuesday is gonna
be weird you. Yeah, yeah, don't at all. I was

(11:43):
getting a club now because when when you're when you're
just going to commercial, you're gonna call the hotlines and
they can hang up on you. But I'm trying to
just get Greg teet prep to put him on the phone,
and he starts. You go into this long explanation of
what's happening, But there's a cookie on the floor, Nate

(12:03):
and over there was Was that really an open invite
for you to take the job back in six months,
because that's what Elvin sounded like. I think it would
be a minimum way. Elvid shed it on the air,
I heard the same key said, if if if this
just show fails across the street in six months, and
you want to come back in your old job back,
You're more than welcome. The doors always open. He said that.

(12:24):
I gotta be honest. I think you know. I'm not
really sure, you know, because sometimes he knows tongue and
cheek he says things. Sometimes he like what he said
we would all be co hosting two weeks ago. Jesus
like when we all go on vacation with him. Yeah, anyway,
is there anyway that we could play some of those
clips that we were looking for before, like the one
word the paper I gave you. You can't do it

(12:48):
in a minute last, but you've been going through the
computer times. He called people for phone taps as you
to them. Oh that's so funny. So I called people
to phone tap them because they they set up. They
emailed us they wanted a phone tap. Got to the
phone tap, just hit on him and he was scary. Jones. Yeah, yeah,

(13:08):
heard this before. And the women that are yeah, I
only want to hit on I only do phone taps
on single women. Are you single? Are you where it's
in the system. I can't believe you hear this. I
didn't know he did this. I completely forgot that I
did this. I don't think we did this on the air. No,
I don't think we re we aired either. It is creepy.
It is so funny, funny. And the women that I

(13:30):
called there like, I'm married. I didn't expect this. I
just expect this from Scary Jones or a phone tap.
I emailed you about a phone tap. And I don't
feel comfortable right now. And I'm like, you know, come on,
I'm Scary Jones. And I'm like, and I'm trying to
make these to hear. You've gotta here, you gotta hear.
It's great. At least let him off the hook that
it wasn't me. No, it just hangs up. Missed those antics.

(13:51):
But the news is the good news is you can
tell to a new audience now like your Chicken conspiracy.
You're landing on the moon. You know you're you are you?
You are a different Greg Tea. Now, well, no, I'm
still gonna be funny. Well people keep asking me still,
you know it was funny. I I it was. It
was funny. I I bumped. I was in home depot

(14:12):
and I was at there. I was looking at the
wall for the for lights you know. And I was
getting light bulbs and a guy was in the paint section,
and I guess he happened to notice me, so he
yells Greg and I turned around, huh And I turned around.
I'm like, yes, who's calling me? And then this guy
at the paint section goes go over here and I go, hi, um,
what do I know you? And he comes over and

(14:32):
he shakes my hand. He goes, let me tell you.
My name is Bill blah blah blah blah. I've been
listening you guys with twenty four years. He's like, I'm
so fucking proud of you, man. You go out to
get your own job. That's right. And I'm like, okay,
did this really happen? I swear to god he was
very passionate. What's his last name? I don't know. It
happened so fast, It happen so fast. Now, yes, yes,

(14:54):
that's funny. Are you taking that the fifteen minut the
Morning Show? You? Oh? Yeah, definitely, guys, right m
