Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
Firms morning show. Well, here we go. We missed you,
did you really? I really did. I don't know if
anyone else did, but I didn't. Let's talk about I was.
(00:24):
I was gone for a week for my honeymoon, and
all I heard, by the way, I was not checking
into social media at all. Everyone while maybe once a
day I go okay, okay, good bye. But I heard
nothing but great things about last week's shows, and I
just again, thank you guys for holding it down. Nate,
thank you for your leadership and and and the fellowship
and fun. This is the best wedding gift we could
(00:45):
have given you. As a week off. We know what
we're doing. You know, if we have a week off,
I think you could do better. I know I didn't
want anything about another week off. I'm kidding. I'm kidding anyway,
but thank you, thank you. I heard the show last
week was great, and I'm assuming that behind the scenes
everyone everyone got along great, tied and cause any problems.
(01:08):
He was trying to snitch us. I didn't feel like
you needed to be notified of what was going on.
Here was only vacation. When I'm on vacation. I don't
want to hear anything. I know. But the thing was
that they were like just running the show as they
wanted to. That's the point. But you would never have
done those things. It doesn't matter, you know, at some point,
(01:29):
at some point, you know, when your daughters learned to
drive and they get their driver's license, you just you're
going to give them as much information as you can,
and then you've got to let loose and just hope
that everything just works out without you watching. Well. I
tried to stop the Mels. I tried. He tried to stop.
What Garrett. You know, we talked about the things you
missed while you were away. The one thing we forgot.
We gave great Tea a history test. History test. You know,
(01:53):
he's not He doesn't do well with his studies. He
does never did well. What this This came off of
the fact that he was trying to help which Ella.
I think, oh my god, that's right. I forgot your daughter, Ella.
So he's trying to help Ella with her homework. And
he was saying that the fur trade, you know, your
history of is the fur trade. Having six beavers in
Canada because people were cold, so they needed fur and
(02:14):
right the heat. So in sixteen though, heat didn't invent
heat yet. This is this is when he had her
right on her report. I just explained that they needed
for for heat. So then we decided to give him
a history test. And so, how well did you do
(02:36):
on the history tests? Got to right to right? They
didn't have heat, didn't My favorite was trash though, yelling
from the other room when he was doing this, you know,
he did like an instant story and she's like, yes,
they they didn't. They had fire, but don't heat. Well,
(02:56):
that's what heat is outside by fire. Every day they
had to fire. That's not the same. Alright, alright, alright, okay,
so you know it back in I tell you it
wasn't even that long ago. It was in my grandparents day.
They actually had these these things. They put hot coals
(03:16):
in these pants and they put them under the sheets.
Really yeah, you could actually burn yourself on them and
that would keep your sheets warm underneath heat. But that
wasn't six But anyway, so so last week we had
the great history test. What about you, Brodie? What happened
last week that we need to talk about? Uh? It
took three days for Nate to want to look at
a note. Okay, so yeah, I mean you're used to
(03:39):
writing notes and jokes and things to me, right, so
I would I would put like, oh you should mention
this guest coming off, or what things popped into my
head trying to help him. The first day was well,
and the second day was and the third day was
I want to do that? Can I explain? Yes, it's
you've got a lot going on here running the board,
(04:00):
you're managing the room, you're carrying on conversation, and they
were giving me useful notes Brody and scary, but my
mind doesn't work as fast as your know. Well, no,
my my mind doesn't work. Plus so in every once
in a while, his handwriting is not exactly legible most
of the time, so there would be a conversation happening
and Danielle would be speaking and I'm trying to read
what Brody wrote. But then Danielle finishes, and I would
(04:25):
totally lose my train of Now it is it is.
It is a dance you have to do. But by
by Thursday, well oiled machine, welled up, he was nailing
it so good. So next week when you host again,
then you and Brody have a great relationship Gandhi. Yeah,
you and Danielle, is anything you want to discuss about
last week and anything we could do better or and
(04:46):
I say it's not me, I won't won't be here
for it. But I was actually pretty impressed at how
smoothly I thought everything Like. I didn't notice the brody
jokes not getting used. I didn't notice some of that stuff.
It just seems like it was good. Didn't happen, Yeah,
it seem like it last week weird? Okay, well look
(05:06):
so so in my absence in the future, you guys
do a great job. I have no problem with that.
It makes me feel you know what, though we miss
you because there's I don't know, there's just an energy,
a flow totally. Is this an energy that was avoid Okay, look,
it's naturally going to be different, And it's the same
when Danielle is out for a day or whatever, we're
(05:27):
Gandhi's out for a day. It's because it's all of
us together make the puzzle completely exactly. So when someone's
missing there's something wrong. There was a feeling that eventually
you're going to be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Elvis. Yeah, that
was our theory. Wow, there's a good idea. We were
theorizing is going to drop Monday first, then Friday and
then both. That's a good idea. Don't give me ideas anyway. Okay,
(05:49):
so that's done. Now we're back doing our live shows
and I'm still in my I don't give a fuck
mentality from my my week in my Yorko. And I
think it's good. I think you how does when you
go on vacation you want to try to hold onto
that I don't give a flying fuck attitude for as
long as you can. I'm just waiting. I'm just waiting,
like what day? What day? Will you guys push me
(06:10):
to the edge where I just want to start tomorrow.
I think when when I want to start, like spanking people?
I don't know. I felt like Nate had you close
a couple of times. Yeah, no, listen, it's I don't know.
I've got So we pushed off a lot of stuff
that was supposed to happen last week because you're here now,
and they're like, well, we paid for Elvius to do this.
(06:32):
So I was just trying to make sure a lot
of things got done, and Garrett was trying to help
me on a couple of things, and some sales people
dropped the ball, so stuff didn't happen to a. But
that's fine, all right. For almost seven minutes, we've recapped
last week. So let's let's look to today and look forward.
What do we have coming up? Any new news? Great,
t new news? See anything new going on? Nothing? Really?
(06:52):
Anyone else. Look, I gotta tell you, coming back to
it was a difficult thing because, ah, my Yorka, I
say everyone should visit, and can I please ask you go?
Where is Yorka? I don't get it, Maora, Mayorka is
your Orka? No? Where is where is Yorka? I always
(07:14):
set to myself. I looked at it. It's my Yorka.
I know you love it. But where it's it's my Yorka.
I know it's yours. It's an island, it's off the
coast of This is my new York in the Mediterranean. Right, Okay, Tee,
you've done it again. What did I do? What did
he do? I said, Okay, Tee, you've done it again.
(07:36):
Mayorca is a beautiful island off off the coast of Spain.
And even though it is a Spanish uh, it's a
Spanish property or island or whatever. They really have this
crazy autonomy where they have their own government there and
it's really just a beautiful place, beautiful people. It was delicious.
I suggest everyone go. Can you explain with all the
places in the world, you could have gone every beach,
(07:57):
every private resort, every caban, every little you know, because
ultimately it's sun and pool and whatever. You could have
gone to the Bahamas? Why why there? Why? I always
wanted to go? And you know what we're looking at September.
We didn't know what the weather would be like in
different places. I didn't know. I didn't know, so we
just we just picked. You've never been there before, No,
not my Orka. I've been to Spain, though, but I've
(08:18):
had friends who been and I loved it. This is
a boring pott. The most glowing endorsement for Majorca. Your
text to me, never ever coming back. The best vacation
we've ever experienced, zero pressure, rarely look at the phone, sleeping,
eating the best food and drinking incredible wines. The hotel
is stunning. We just sit on the bar terraces and
stare at the mountain or the sea without the need
to speak for long periods of time. Yeah, okay, let's
(08:40):
talk about that. Do you have a relationship with anyone
where you can sit there and for not negative reasons,
because you're ignoring each other, but for reasons you feel
comfortable and you love each other. You don't feel like
there has to be a constant conversation. That's how I
judge how close we are as friends. If I can't
either take an app when you come over or sit
in a room in silence, we're not that close. If
(09:01):
I come to your house and you take a nap,
I'm gonna be that's gonna be a little weird to
come over and we just nap. If the no, no, no,
if they nap with you. But if I go to
your house, I'm just sitting there money own business, and
you're snoring in the corner. So to that point, though,
I've never been in a relationship with someone where I
(09:21):
could do that, I always felt like there needed to
be a conversation. There needed to be oh, hey, what
do you think of this? Or we would just sit
there and look at this beautiful mountain or over here
to the ocean, have our cocktails and just kind of,
you know, observe and just sit there. It's great. Try it. Yeah,
try something. Did you in Sheldon do that decomfront without
(09:44):
the kid. Yeah, we can totally just relax and not
say a word and just know that we're in each
other's presence. It's nice, Garrett. Yeah, this weekend around a
fire pit with a bunch of beer and seltzer and
you just sit there. Yeah. Yeah, great to you and Trash.
Yeah we could do that. We do. We constantly doing.
As I said, you're doing it for the right reason.
(10:05):
The silent treat It's just it's important to know that
you're you're on the same level as you're not saying anything. Okay,
it's like the ultimate level of comfort. Yeah, you don't
feel like you have to impress each other. You're just
enjoying it. You know. You have to keep in mind,
by nature of what we do for a living dead
air is dead late on this show, if you have
(10:30):
that much dead air, people are like, what what, what?
What happened? Something's wrong? And uh I used I guess
I carried it off. Carry that into my real world
where you always felt like if there wasn't a conversation
going on, the other was the other person was bored,
Like I don't want to bore Alex. I want to
make sure there's a conversation going on. The problem with
constantly coming up with new conversations as you say something
(10:50):
that pisses him off or he says something that pisses me,
so it's better not say anything. I'm with you. I
think too much conversation is actually boring. You just weren't
out of things to say. We don't need to keep
talking exactly, just we should do you know, good morning,
thanks for listening to our morning show. The phone taps
coming up in twenty minutes. Let's just sit here. That's
(11:10):
a great experiment for tomorrow. Do you just say you
guys are friends that listen to us. Let's just be silent.
We can't be silent, that's our problem. You mentioned that
you sat by the pool or whatever and looked at
the mountains and the ocean or whatever. Yet I did
not see one picture of your feet with the mountains
and the ocean behind the money. Is that important because
that Alex always does his feet in front of the
(11:32):
pool postes, I'm like, I didn't post. I posted one
bowl of limouse. They say, if the feet or didn't
happen it's true. If your feet weren't there, you weren't there.
How is riding the donkey. I didn't ride the donkey.
We pet the donkeys. You would have love the donkeys.
They're in love. Don't refer to it like that. Riding
(11:54):
the donkey. I got it. I think not posting pictures
on your vacation is a sign that you're actually enjoyed
in your vacation. I have a question. Yes it was.
It was the best vacation we've ever had. Because when
people have like an Instagram story that's little dots because
it's so long, you know that they didn't sit there
and enjoy the vacation. They spent their entire time recording
the vacation. And you know you can do that, you
(12:15):
know what, Gandhi, we were so relaxed. There was not
one argument or disagreement for an entire week. It was weird.
It was fabulous. So it was a honeymoon, but you've
been together for eight years. Was there a lot of
honeymoon sex. I'm not going to have this conversation. You
gotta think. I mean, you don't have to say anything,
but we just assumed. I just assume anything you want Okay,
(12:37):
there's a lot so there's a lot of non talking.
So well, it's not nice to talk with your mouthful,
that's what I say. I don't know. Oh no, it
was great. I just I now feel like all those
other vacations I took when I was stressed out because
we had to keep friends happy or stressed out because
we weren't stressed out because we had to pick a
(12:59):
restaurant for the night. There was none of that. It
was heaven. I love it. You're so happy today. I
hope his last I'll be admiral asshole before they before
the end of the way. Have you gotten used to
saying I have a husband, I am a husband. No,
I'm trying. You know, it's been In fact, when you
(13:20):
come back into the country, you can actually if you're
with your family, you can all come in together on
one immigration not immigration form customs. And we did that
and no one questions were like should we do that?
Should we not do that? We did it, but of
course they know. We got to the hotel and there
was a big note Mr and Mrs Durant welcome. So
(13:42):
he's like, Mrs Durant, I'm saying no, no, it's a mistake.
It's we still live in a world where if if
they find out you're married, they just assume it's a
male and female. But I did introduce you at the
wedding as uh Elvis and Alex Duran. No, they said
Duran Car, Duran Car. It was yeah, they says many word.
(14:03):
I think it was Tiffany, the drag queen. It's Tiffany, Well,
the drag queen. Tiffany kept making me laugh because she
didn't know the name of the band, and she's saying,
let's bring back the fabulous bandlous. She kept saying, let's
give away that car. I said, don't say what it is.
She couldn't care less, and that's why anyway, So I
guess my my words of whatever. Next time you take
(14:27):
a vacation, try to put yourself in a situation where
you don't have to make a lot of decisions, where
you don't have to keep other people happy, and you
just sit there and enjoy the company where you're with
because you're surrounded by a great place. Probably if you're
on vacation, I'm assuming this is a really boring place.
I know you want to be overall the w stuff,
(14:49):
but I have so many other questions podcast. You can
sneak them in any way you want. Alright, guys, have
a beautiful Monday fifteen minute morning show m
