Speaker 1 (00:00):
I got you. How are you gonna look at it?
If you're looking over here? Three to one go? What
would you talk about on your on your podcast? Firm
Elvis Presents fifteen minute morning show Down down, all right, guys,

(00:24):
so while you know where you going? Hello, what are
you doing? That's pretty messed up? Guys up, that's messed up?
All right? That's fine ladies and gentlemen, boys, girls, children
of all the age. Just how worried today? Uh? When
you if you hear my voice, then you know only
one thing? That means that the whole entire show has

(00:45):
left me? And uh you got me? Greg Tea here
in the building. Oh now you want to come back?
Oh there you dog? Garret's back and there's Brody. Have
a question. What's up? You have a question? You know?
The question is what would you do with your podcast?
If you had one? I would turn down the volume
I on that one. I want to know why you
say whole entire? They mean the same thing, whole entire? Yeah,
what are you talking? When do I say that all

(01:05):
the time? You say whole entire? You everything about mixing this?
Watch ready? Like if you you say I hate the
whole entire pizza. But if you ate the whole pizza, well,
the entire pizza, but you don't need both, right, I'm
just wondering why you always do that. I don't know.
It's a crutch. I guess it's just always the way
I talk radio professional. Also speaking of crutches, people don't

(01:25):
know this, but every time you're about to record, you
always go three. It's time. But you did that before
this podcast. What is it timing for? You know what
that's from? Right? What is it fronts from? Like old
time radio where people how to start to tape, like
you give them a heads up where you're gonna start. Okay,
but let me just tell you something about old time radio. Okay,
but you you would never put all time radio? Of course,

(01:46):
what are you talking about? Yeah, but even when you
get into radio is all digital? What That's not true
at all? You're according to pro tools. I was here
in the days of when you had the real two
reel machines. You gotta be kidding me. I was taught
how to edit on real to real machine. You know,
I always here what's splicing? And obviously it's all analog.
I've been listen. The bottom line is this You took
radio in school though, right for like a semester? Did

(02:08):
they teach you three to one? Now, so where'd you
get that from? Why are you interviewing me like this?
We're doing the podcast. Here's the thing, if you're gonna
do something old school, that's not something to shy away from.
If you think about it, if you think about the
old school ways of doing things, there is a a
more real feel, a the right way to do things.

(02:30):
It's it's now that we've decided to change things. And
sometimes change and morphying into the future is not the
best thing. Sometimes doing it the way they used to
do it, you know, back in the day is the
best thing. So to be embarrassed about being old school, right, No,
I think you shouldn't be. I'm saying old school. No. No,

(02:50):
it's like radio like it isn't It's like, oh, the
handed Burke just exploded three to all just a poll listen,
you know, speaking of those old school sound. Speaking of that, though,

(03:11):
do you ever go back in time like on iTunes
or something that you and you a Japanese cannot speak.
I find sound from from history so intriguing, Like I
love that old school sound of the audio. The way,
it's sound like crack old and suffer humanity. I have

(03:35):
no control, just like ask not what your country you
can do a country. I think that's very cool. I
like that sound. I like that audio, you know, I
really it spooks me out to the point that I
think it's really neat to hear old school audio of
things that happened in history, like those moments that are captured,

(03:55):
you know, on tape, you know, because we don't have
tape anymore, are so historic and so cool. Anywin, you know,
I'll be real puzzles the listen. Let me let me
say Something's something Elvis always says to us. You stop
it out of the studio price playing traffic. Guys, listen,

(04:15):
I'm telling you to kick yourself out. There was something
that Elvis says on a daily basis. You have given
You've got you have been given the power to use
these microphones and to sit here and to say something
and to talk about something. So what will you create?
But right now we're just creating, you know, making fun
of me. That's not all right. So here's the You

(04:36):
have the power right now for the next let's say third,
let's say for the next twelve minutes. You have something
here that you can create and molding to something that
can make a point. So starting after this will be pointing.
Earlier in the show, Elvis made it clear to you
that you are not to read his entire book, and

(04:59):
you have the book right now. You. I caught you
looking through the book as you wear his glasses that
are fitted for his head and not your round head. Alright, alright,
he stretched them out. I did not stretch. Yes, I
have the book in my hand, but I gave Elvis
my word that I would not read his book. Did not.
I did flip through it because I'm looking for my name. Okay,
what chapter there's gonna be a chapter like named after you? Right? Guys,

(05:21):
have you ever been in a book before? Not just Elvis's,
but have you ever been mentioned in a book? But
you have? You? Really? Do you know which book it
has been? Charlemagne the Gods? You were mentioned book? Really?
Were you? Wow? Alright? In what context about a Kanye
interview that I did right after him? Brody, you've been
mentioned in a book. I'm writing a book, so, um,

(05:42):
I know you're writing a book, but I mean, have
you been mentioned in the book? No? But a morning
show I worked on was mentioned in a book. Okay,
but so when I was on Elliott in the Morning. No,
but it didn't, but didn't mentioned Dave Brody. No, but
I was proud of that show. Okay, fine, But what
I'm saying is is James Pattison novel and in the
audio book he says the radio was tuned to Elliott

(06:03):
the Morning, and I was part of that show. Okay,
fair enough, I'll give you. I'll give your name is
somewhere in Elvis's book right now. Listen. I know that
we're in radio and and some would say, oh, you
guys are famous or whatever. We're not. But but so
what I'm saying to that point is that we also
have our own weird Yeah, we have our own bucket list.
And at a bucket list, it would be cool to
to a put out your own book or baby mentioned

(06:25):
in the book. It's weird to me. Even though it's
like we're in our boss's book, we're still in a
book that will be in bookstores. That's what I'm If
somebody flipped through it, they might see my name. That's
what I had this conversation with my wife. That's what
I'm saying it's weird to me. Hold on, Elvis's assistant
Andrew just walked in. Andrew just so you know, wait,
come on, okay, no, no, no no, even know. I need

(06:45):
to know you understand it's as it is exactly. I
need the book. And was in charge of the book.
He just talked the book. I'm not gonna I'm not
going to read the book. I'm gonna at it. I
need it for the podcast that we'll continue. I know
that Elvis told your book it's a podcast, teach. Pretend
he still has the book. I need the book. What
do you need the book for it? Because if I
want to go to the book, I want to play

(07:06):
around with it. You never know what could come out.
And you give him a different book so you can
make the paper sound when just get him a book.
I know it's like the same. If you have that creative,
you'd fake the book. I need the book like I
need it. You gotta have it, so you holding the
book has nothing to listen. Every radio professional knows Elvis

(07:30):
will the first to tell you if you're going to
talk about something, you need to have it in studio.
He would never do a topic or a quote unquote
a bit without that minute. Twenty years ago we made
a career. We did a bit about the Stanley Cup
and we wasn't even here. That's different. That was a
quick little hit. You can imagine that one cup was
like on your head because I need the book just

(07:50):
for all intensive purpose? Sam, But what words did you
just string together? All intensive purpose? You just combined that
made one word? I did not. I said clearly all
intensive purpose. Okay, for the people to say at all
he's trying to see, trying to say, for all intents
and purposes, all intensive purpose and intensive, all intensive purpose, intense,

(08:16):
all intensive purpose, inten, that's not what I'm after. Yes, Andrew,
read the Come on, Andrew, read the part of the
book that you're about to read. As Sean Mendes, let
me let us go back again. Let us go back
together to one. Oh Charles gets crossing the Delaware right here. Look, okay,

(08:37):
let us go back again. Twistlack how I started in
this podcast by saying, he said three to one, you
guys don't realize the god given You know, god given
God didn't put us in a radio station. You've been
given an opportunity to use these microphones and instead you've
decided to just fart all over it. You you should
just I mean, there is there is beauty to expressing

(09:02):
yourself and creating what I would associate as its called art.
I've heard you show in New York. Yes, you have
the mic and you speak. It's entertaining. But I like it.
But do you consider that art? Well? Is that the
best use of the radio for the airwaves? Garret? There
are days that we come out of there we go.
That was a good show, right, I think that was art? Yeah? Art,

(09:24):
there is? You have to like radio Hall of Fame
kind of. I need the book for real? But what
are you talking about his book having having the conversation
can go. But you holding a book and not looking
in for the context? Did you want to read like
the chapter names? I'm asking. What I'm saying is you
don't know where this conversation can go. What if I

(09:44):
had the book in front of me and then I
decided to hold you never do this? I have the book, now,
go ahead. I decided to like go into a topic
with you guys, like, hey, what if I read the
last page? Do you think Elvis would be upset? Like?
What if you know we could like play that and
like all of a sudden, I have the book and
I go and I go, okay, but and then it's
it's the podcast starting the end, and I go and

(10:06):
that was my life. And I'm you know, I'm saying, like,
you don't know what I can get out of that book.
That's what I'm saying. That's the reason why the horse.
But that's the bit, guys, that's what I'm trying to take.
But this isn't television. You could pretend to have the book,
but don't understand it's part of what we do. It's
really amazing that I am a very good jackass on

(10:27):
the show. But yeah, I am really and truly blessed
with a talent to be a very good disc jockey
and and a and a morning show host. And then
I that I have this ability. I'm actually a very
good talent at creating content. But you guys aren't seeing that.
And all you're seeing is you don't need the book.

(10:48):
You don't need the book that anybody could do. You
don't need the book. But when you have the book,
there's there's almost a whole chapter about you. Listen, Elvis
and I have had history. He talks about you hoping
in the studio. It's right, I would expect to be
a little bit more worthy of of a better sentence. Guys.

(11:09):
I'm just saying, you, guys, have we still have a
little bit more time left here? I mean, and by
you holding the book and acting like you're going to
read is supposed to carry this I'm holding it. Tell
me what I should do because I have the book
now I'm saying, and I don't know what you're supposed
to do, But what you could have done is you
could have made this time on the podcast more worthy
of our listeners paying attention to it. But right now

(11:30):
they're just sitting there going is there any point to
this today? That's what's happening. The audience is saying, is
there any point? And there could have been a point.
I'm serious. Think about that. Think about the opportunity that
the three of us have or still had, or had
or still have to make something happen in this podcast.

(11:54):
And all we've done is decided to just fart in
the room. Okay, I'm looking at a page. It's in
the one nineties. He's talking about a celebrity encounter. Well,
this is a good book. You're right to having the
book in front of you. Very helpful. It is helpful,
I said, I just looked, he's got a celebrity story.
My god, I didn't realize he did that. One day,

(12:14):
One day, ladies and gentlemen, one day I will have
this opportunity to give you a good show, to make
radio history day. I know, I know in my heart,
I know September one. But what it's worth, I totally
believe one day you will wut on a great radio show.
On the second day, I'm not so sure about. Here
comes Gandhi. Maybe Gandhi can help us out. Absolutely. Gandhi's

(12:36):
talking to one of the interns outside right now. We
can see here we have Florid ceiling windows here, just
so you know, and painting the picture that window. That's
not a Florida ceiling window. It's not Gandhi. Would you
call out window floated ceiling window? Okay? That one really
a Gandhi? How you doing, Gandi? What microphone have you
on right here? Uh? Got you? We're making we're making
radio history. That's kind of neat that you have your

(12:57):
own microphone with your name on. I know, I was
so excited when I got here. Did you take a
picture of that. That's pretty cool, right, it does not?
It says Elvis, Gandhi Danielle. Then there's one for Froggy,
and then it says guest. Guest, Oh yeah, it does
a great Take look at that and take the picture
of it. You never saw that. I never knew that,
my hold on to how cool? That's pretty funny, I swear.

(13:21):
How cool is that I have my own It took
me all those years. Have a microphone, you had your name,
You've had your name on a button since eight I
didn't know that. I really didn't know that. How cool
is that? I came in here my name. I was
trying to actually make something happen, but these two jokesters,
all they want to do was rip on and make
fun of me the whole entire time. So we've had
the whole entire hold stop playing the victim. Elvis said

(13:46):
on air, you're not allowed to look at the book,
and you're not allowed to open the book, and took
the book away from him. All I said, and I
wasn't going to read the book at all, but I
needed the book just in case I wanted. Something came
into my mind was like, oh, play a funny joke
and read like a sentence. You know what I'm saying.
But now I can't even do that. He's not allowed
to read anything of the book. But radio tjs need product.
Do you need things in front of scary here's the

(14:08):
radio profession. Mary's back, Sam's back. Finally, yeah, back, coming back.
If you wanted to talk about Elvis's book, Is it
possible to do a podcast and talk about Elvis's book
without physically holding it your hand? Of course it is.
But right, he's a method actor knows me. He's just

(14:29):
walked experience. Wants to talk about Elvis's book. He needs
real life experiences. He can't fake or be imaginary or
pull things out of thin air. He doesn't have an
imagine when he went down, Elvis, So when he went
down that when he went down, Elvis's kimn. That's not it.
That's not it. That's not it. I hear the sound

(14:50):
comeback on this podcast. That's right. I mean again, you guys,
let me tell you, do not be pround of yourself.
You were given the opportunity to do something, do something, microphone,
you do nothing to hey tweets, let us do the
