Speaker 1 (00:02):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
Firm Present Minute Morning show. So we just sitting here
and stare each other wondering who's going to talk first.
I liked when we were talking about whether or not

(00:23):
you can be friends with your ex now move on.
Well they can't. I have not friends with any single
one of my ex is not one what percentage desperately
wants you back? Exactly? They all want you back. You
broke up with all of them. Wrote a song about now.
One girl I know definitely wanted me back. He doesn't
know this Get the city Lights. It's called city Lights.

(00:45):
That's a good song, to be honest. It was so
I was dating this girl in California, we broke up.
I had still lived in California for like maybe a year,
and then I moved here and uh so we were
off and on for like five months. You know how
that goes. You date for a day and then you
break up for a week and you date. It was awful.
So I moved to New York City. Six months later,

(01:08):
she moves to New York City. She moves to New
York City and gets a job right over there, across
the street from our building. Was this on purpose. I'm
assuming so because she didn't tell me this. She didn't
whatever my friends showed me on social media. Hey, she

(01:29):
just moved to New York City and she's working at
this place, which happened to be right across the street
from our office building. So in doing so, she started
because she was a kind of a musician. So she
wrote a song about me and sent it to me.
And it's a good song, a song it could have
been a hit. Here it is. Where's the songs called

(01:58):
Shitty of Lights? Yeah, the demo from Nate's ex girlfriend.
We're gonna play the whole thing, ready to hit. Oh
it already sounds sad. Yeah, it's in the key if
I hate you? This is a long intro. Remember wearing
your outy? I replay on the men, Yes you did

(02:21):
have that as a big bang hear, Oh my god?
So mentor by the truth? Is there something I can't undo?
A very thought of dream? It's me my back to you.
Ifen know to make dreams come true and mine you

(02:48):
sounds like it's a good song. I want to hear
all of her heartbreak. I like the war that she
says you loved me. She never said that she didn't
kill me? Bullshit? What because Los Angeles is also a

(03:13):
city full of lights, Los Angeles Breaklights, city of Angels
angel So she sent this to you? She sent if
I remember correctly, where's Andrew? I think she sent it
to me And I just rolled my eyes and like,
oh god, really. So I played the song for him
and then he can you send me that? I want

(03:35):
to listen to it? And then they put it into
the system. I love the light. Can we talk about
songs that somebody wrote that it's not okay, you have
to understand it. It's about more about the lyrics. The

(03:55):
lyrics are really bulls Okay, so we just heard Heartbreak,
We're about to hear No Eye Break. I may not
be the best singer or but the best writer, the
best musicians. The lyrics really though. But he's very good
at stalking. It says. I'm friends with all of my
exes on social media everywhere. I like to drive by
their houses A little behind the music. This song is

(04:16):
about the restraining order. That's right. This is about Kim
Kim Hanson. Because Kim Hanson I mentioned her name. Why
she should we still talk? She texts me every now
and then you want the no No, No No No
VG remix, the one where Mike Friend and Nelly jams
on the on the guitar. But wait a minute, wait,
hold on, also scary. We also have the Chris Martin remix.

(04:37):
I think Mike Friendly dropped the guitar. You can't play
the song, the melody, the melody about the band members.
Dump this off of cassette. This is a guy, I'm
gonna start singing. Were into a four track. Ladies and

(04:58):
gentlemen brings the friend boy have to sleep. Morning starts
to year times by the trees, don't up here in
the dark, to the life, get wild? Stand it's time
and in a side time to pass by? Over to bad?

(05:23):
Time passed by. I'm happy and sad. Everyone says the
riding is good, wrong is bad? Stop listen? How still
the way? This is the best? Where your father's daughter
got a training owner bid happy take sheets playing in

(05:49):
the same time, trying to play last by the way.
My favorite line is morning starts to near. Why can't
you say morning jaws? Dear, I don't know what was good?
Time passes by? What was the five passes by? All over?

(06:11):
Good and bad? We didn't like you know that there's
good people as bad people's everything. I think I got so.
For the longest time, Nate and I have been trying
to get any artist that has walked through these doors
to record that song. I think now with the number
one podcast, apparently according to the commercials on I Heart
song Land is the TV show on NBC, Ryan Tedtor

(06:33):
is very close to my heart. Now, I say we
get Ryan Teddor to take over this song and see
what he can turn If anybody can turn it into
a gym, it's Ryan now. But we have Chris Martin.
We also have listened to he declined that song. How
did listen to? Leroy? Get ahold of this? Who is this? Oh?

(06:58):
And also both Frank Rannie did Oh that's right, great
studio jam of all time. I love this. By the way,
what you just heard was listeners submitted by Loyd Lee Roy. Okay,
so I've got to find Ronnie. Oh I have bald freak.
You did a good one. This computer would ever catch
up with me? Oh? Here it is. This is Ronnie
doing time passes by. Yeah, already an improvement. Yeah it

(07:22):
was the way it was. This is what you got
in your head. This is what I meant to, I
just couldn't. That's exactly what I want you half a
sleeep morn it stops to times by, don't Disappear lyrics

(07:48):
and we stand this times and outside crazy. Thank you
for the reburb passes By happen right there, everybody. Yeah,

(08:22):
we were just playing your song in the podcast because
it's the only good version of Greg t song time
passes By. Yeah, so we miss you. I wish you
had picked up the phone. We would have put you
on the podcast. Alight, love you, Mr big shots at NPR.
Now we can't answer the phone. Yeah, that's hilarious. I
love when people take something not that your song was ridiculous.

(08:42):
It wasn't it, but when people take something ridiculous and
then turn it into something else. I love that. I
was going through such a hard time. It was really tough.
Did that song work? No, her father still had the
restraining order? Podcast Elvis Duran, Yes, So what do we
talk about today? We're listening to songs that people have
made for other people on the show, or songs a

(09:05):
show member has made for someone else. Yeah, we're a
talented punch, aren't we know? We're not. We We just
argued about time passes by and tease, choice of lyrics,
and the song nates ex girlfriend h Yeah. We also
played a little bit of Nate's ex girlfriend song Yeah
the Psycho. We've had a lot of great musical moments

(09:28):
on the show. Yeah, and actual musicians sometimes stop by.
I'm like up, all right, I'm gonna hang up now, okay,
by checking in on the podcast, Yeah, checking in. Okay,
So Nate that that song didn't work for you? Which
one the one back? I think. I think when somebody
gets to the point that they have to write you

(09:48):
a song your it's not gonna work. That's seriously. Any
eighties rock band has tons of them. Did they ever
get the girl back? No? No, you were you were
settled here with the but let's just say you weren't working.
Would not have that song now, would not have worked. Home,
would not have worked, would not have worked. But it
was a good young no you, the song was good.
Don't scared. One of Scary's ex girlfriends wrote him a

(10:10):
song too, Do you have it? What could have been?
Young girls? And serious question? Who are who is the
girl on this kid? Let me look at a obvious
shocked shot shot shod I'm not shot, do do let

(10:46):
break up? Bring it back? Memory scary? You don't want
the dum version? God, please God, Now I'm not going
to play the medium version. I bet you had we
played that song at our live broadcast down in New Jersey, there,
the place would have gone off. Would have that's you,
you know, your song like that and everybody's drunk, So
we should have played that. Could you imagine the place

(11:06):
where I'm not yours this weekend? If I could call
the cops on a song, it would be that song.
I thought we meant to play your song at Jenkinson's
just this morning was starting to near. We can play

(11:28):
the school. They needed to clear the place outlayat. You know,
they're a very hard curfew two o'clock. Everyone's got to
be on the street, so that will definitely get them there.
You're right to play that. I enjoyed your song, to
be honest, a really tough tough time. How old were
you in that song was written? I was I was
eighteen and she was seventeen or sixteen seven? Right winger

(11:53):
swear and yeah, I sang to her. We played at
a party and I'm like, this song is dedicated to
Kim Hanson and she was at the party. Yeah, she
was on the stairs that night. She gave me my
she gave me a Metallica c D and Nirvana. I
was so excited. It was my birthday and everything. Oh
my god, this is the anniversary. If that's it's your birthday,

(12:15):
it just came out. Holy. You should go make out
with her now. But it was really bad. Her father
misjudged me completely. How many of us would take out
of a stranding order against I wrote a dirty letter
to her. It was an f It started out with
I want you to That's where it started. That was

(12:37):
how you romanced her, was demanding an act. I didn't
want to write the dirty letter. Her friend got a
dirty letter, so then she's like, can you write me
a dirty letters? So I remember seeing there writing this
dirty letter, and then I gave it to you. I
thought it was gone. It was like months before. Then,
all of a sudden, I came over from college and um,
I had a fault a message on the answer machine saying, um, Greg,
this is Cliff. That was the father, Like, you'd come

(12:58):
up to the house. I'd like to talk to you.
I look okay. So I went up there and when
I walked in the white answer and she says, oh, Cliff,
Greg's here, and I said, hi, oh, just wait right here.
Then she left, and all of a sudden he came
out and I heard like like thumping up the stairs,
and he comes up, and I noticed, coincidentally on the

(13:19):
kitchen table was all the stuff that I had given her.
Now like there was like there m walk down memory
lane and I'm like, just like date line and there
was like take all this ship and never come back
to my house again. When did the restraining order come
into play? Well afterwards, because what happened was what happened.

(13:43):
By the way, can I just say I've tried to
get a restraining order get up for me personally? But no,
it's not that still got a job right across the street.
Got to show proof and everything. You know, you got
hold on It's very easy to get one, as apparently
a great tea has learned. But to get one on someone,
Nate said, it's very hard. You must have done a lot.

(14:05):
I didn't he forbid us to see each other, but
I was devastated. And then you know my it was
we were sneaking around constantly, and then he threatened me
at the school. When I went to go see her.
She was graduating and I want to wait for her.
And he caught me in the school because he knew
i'd be there, and he put me up against the
locker and he goes, did I tell you to stay
with my daughter? Like dad? He said to me, And

(14:26):
I was like. And then he drove to the police department.
And then two days later I was delivered papers. They came.
The guy goes, hey, are you Greg Tinder? He writes that,
and I said name. I said yes I am, and
he goes, here you go, You've been served, and I
was like, So then I was like, you know what,
I'm gonna go to the police station. And then I
served in papers at work and then he had to

(14:47):
go court. Could you make a song out of that
dirty note you wrote? Her fifteen minute morning show m
