Speaker 1 (00:02):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
Firms Represents show. You can just imagine this for a second.
You go to work every day. Let's say you're a
school nurse, or you're an accountant, or you're an assistant
(00:23):
for an executive, or you drive a truck or you
put gas in people's cars, and then all of a
sudden someone calls and says, I need to interview and
talk about about you know, what you do for a
living second. It's the most foreign thing being interviewed, because
you know, we interview people on this show every day
and they used to it because they're artists. They go
around like Jennifer Lopez is on the show today, She's
been interviewed a billion times. But like, if you think
(00:46):
about the concept of everyone looking at you and asking
you and asking you questions. I'll ask you a question, Gandhi,
you'll answer it. Then I'll ask you another one, you'll
answer it. It's all about me asking you about you
and what your feelings are. Let's just an odd concept,
am I high? Right now? I think it's extra odd
for us because we're typically the interviewers, But I don't
think it's as weird for a lot of other people. Yeah,
(01:08):
I don't know. I think a lot of people are
fine talking about themselves. Do you guys like to be interviewed?
I never know what to say. I always feel like
I'm coming across like really dumb. You know. I'm like,
after I answer the question, I go, did that even
make sense what I just said? All the time in
my head, what makes me nervous is when people just
pull like one line of something you say and just
post that because we have we have a Twitter account
(01:31):
actually that does that. They'll pull like one sentence of yeah,
of quotes, and then when you read it back outside
of the context of what you were saying, and you
see just that line, You're like, damn, my sound like
a dick. That's just Is that just me? I'm completely
comfortable comfortable being interviewed one on one. But if I
was to just walk in a room full of people
(01:53):
with cameras and everyone's staring in my one direction, That's
when I'd be a little nervous and think it was awkward. Look,
you know, I bring this up because look, we're just normal,
average people who just happen to have microphones in front
of them. We're we're not superstars were not actors. Actually,
you know what I'm saying. We just come in and
actually interview those people. We were fans of those people,
and we're representing listeners in bringing the answers to you
(02:16):
that you may have questions about with these artists and
so to be interviewed. To me, we interview these people
and I try to put myself in their place, like
what's it like to be have these like a machine
gun of questions coming at you. It's got to be
the most terrifying, uncomfortable. Think what carrot. We're just talking
about that Twitter page that quotes everybody from the show.
It is uh if you want to follow them at
(02:38):
Hello Ladies one hundred and it's Elvis Duran show quotes
Ms Durran show quotes. Yeah, they listen to on demand
show go Back and pretty much quote everyone. It's crazy.
What about you, straight and age? You like being interviewed? Hate?
I hate being interviewed. I hate talking about myself. I
don't think you're like looking at yourself looking at myself. No,
(02:59):
I don't like. I don't like talking about myself. It's
one of those things where I'm telling a story and
I don't don't think people are interested. Okay, well does
anybody else find that a story? And like, I don't
think anybody gives After a while, you just start answering
it because they want to know. And there's but these
artists that come through here, I guess they know it's
part of what they have to do. They have to
be interviewed. It's a part of their promoting their albums
(03:20):
and whatever. And we've had conversations about that. Some artists
and people we interview are better at it than others,
and we've always said behind the scenes, they got to
get better at interviewing if they want to continue in
this business. Right, Yeah, is there a particular reason you're
asking this question? Because I was just interviewed by and
you guys were in here watching me get interviewed, and
I'm like, I'm just in the middle of interview. It
(03:42):
popped my into my head, like why why are they
interviewing me? I should be interviewing them, that's my job.
I think people need to get better interviewing in the
media of social media, in the time of where now,
because if you go on one late night talk show
and you tell a story like it just popped into
your head. But then you go into the late night
talk show and tell the same story like it just
popped in your head. Or even in radio, we've had
people on the oh my god, we were talking about
(04:03):
this yesterday. I'm not gonna mention names or that person said,
oh my god, I grew up listening to with this
an honor my life goal to be on this show,
and then went across the street to a different company
and said, oh my god, I guld listening to you
guys has been honored my dream on the show. One
guy who um, okay, well okay, I'm gonna out a
(04:24):
guy with a guy on our show named Richard Cheese.
Richard Cheese is like a comedian lounge singer, right, So
Richard Cheese was like, I love you guys, you performed.
You're my favorite every time I mentana want to do
you guys, You're the best show ever. Then he went
across the street to a show he used to be
on the air called Opian Anthony kind of a shot
shock show, and he went on, he us, yeah, I
just said that morning Zoo show across the street, what
(04:45):
a bunch of woses and and and use the H
word and the P word and because like, I can't
believe I do that crap. Oh my god, you guys
are so much cooler. He said that about us. Yeah,
that's why he's banned. Is he banned not? I followed
him online, talked have the audio that was like ten
years ago. I like him anyway that of all of us,
(05:06):
you've done late night shows, talk shows, the Today's Show,
do you have that that that story? Do you start
to adapt like, hey, I'm going to tell this story
when I'm on the Tonight Show. I do. I do
repeat myself a lot. But do you have like because
you run out of stuff to say, Well, that's the thing,
do you start thinking of stories to come because that's
what most celebrities do, Like Bertie was saying, they have
the story to tell when they sit down and talk
(05:27):
to Colbert. I have no story. You don't have stand up,
you have sit down. I have. I have a book
coming out, a bunch of lies. Well, I do want
to change subjects. Okay, by the way, you're turning this thing,
this conversation into what it was it's supposed to be.
We're interviewing you. All I'm saying is this we radio.
What we do is so different than what Jimmy Fallon
(05:49):
does and what any of the superstars are doing. And
because we're not that, we don't want to be that.
It just so happens. Sometimes we have to do those
things to promote what we're doing here, and we do
it okay, but it's just it's at the end of
the day, I'd rather it's just come in here and
in our T shirts and our in our sweatpants and
just do a show and leave and not have to
do those things. I could live in a baseball hat
for the rest of my life. I'd be a happy part.
(06:11):
I know. I just want to come in and just
hang out with you guys. That's what I'm saying anyway.
But I think I think it's interesting to be on
the other side of things sometimes and watching the interview,
I thought you did a good job, so I thought
you told a bunch of bullshit, okay, you know, on
know those side of things. I think it is kind
of cool to be interviewed because I think it'll give
you a chance to maybe change your perspective about yourself.
(06:33):
Because sometimes you just look in the mirror or you
go through it your every single day life and you
think of yourself in a certain way, but nobody really
sits there to ask you questions about yourself, so you
don't hear yourself speak about yourself. If it's a good interviewer,
they can get that out. Yeah, right, and then it
might change. You might say, oh my god, I just
said that. That's why you got to write a book.
This is why I keep saying, write a book. Read
(06:53):
back through your stories and you'll you'll look at them
from a different perspective and learn about you. Some of
the people that come up here have a list of questions.
They the publicists will tell us, hey, don't ask about this,
that's what I want, right, or they'll say they really
want to have Camemil t ready when they get there. Now,
you've been on shows, You've been on a lot of
talk shows. Have you ever said, don't ask me about this,
(07:14):
or you ever said I'd really like green M and
M's in the never nothing never asked for anything, nothing's
off limits. What do you think? What do you think?
My answer to that, well, if you walked out on
kathy Leenhoda back and when they were together, and they said,
so tell us about the Tony Dances story, what would
you do? I would just tell him, no, I'm not
going to tell you that story. Read the book. By
the way, it's not in the book. The reason I
(07:35):
was reading the book, sorry, are you paid for it?
If Barbara Walters asked you what celebrity you slept with,
would you tell her? Would you cry? No? Daniel asked
your question. Okay. So I saw somebody in church in
the basket that comes around for the collection, put like
a twenty in and take change. And I thought, oh
my gosh, you can't do that. That's terrible. And I
(07:57):
was telling a lot of people here and asking what
they thought, and and a lot of people think I'm crazy.
They think that it is fine to do that. I
think it's totally fine. I'm with you. I think it's fine.
How do I know you're not taking more than you
put in? Well, here's the thing. I'm assuming you're at church.
God's going to see you do something bad and then
you'll end up in hell. So because of that, I
assume they're taking the right amount out. Also, people are
(08:17):
watching them. Right. The way I look at it is
that if you don't have it, give next time double
Like That's how I like, don't go and get changed.
Just okay, I only have like a twenty this time,
So next time I'll give you you next year, but
for a week. Who cares? God God knows I told
him next week I get you. You just answer the
(08:39):
question who cares? Why do you care? Because I don't?
Because I don't. I just think I don't. You don't
like seeing someone physically taking money out of the give?
Are you judging? You're in church? The whole point is
why haven't you forgiven? Let me give you several ways
to look at it for my for my opinion is
my opinion. So if I've put a twenty in and
(09:00):
take out a ten, that means that week I could
afford ten dollars. Okay, so they got a tent, which
is better than nothing. Secondly, in answer to another thought
you had, if I put a ten in and take
out a twenty, obviously I needed it and the church
helped me out there. God helps those who help themselves. Okay,
I'm gonna help myself to attend. Thank you God. I
(09:22):
can't even I don't know. I just I was like
my face was like, you know what I think it is?
I think it's, like I said, just unusual to see
someone taking money out. I guess if it was a
normal thing that people did all the time, I wouldn't
feel that way. But I've never seen it before. I mean,
at someone need a huge hero in churge one day.
What if I put in a hundred and took out fifty.
(09:43):
That's a fifty, donar. What if I put in a
hundred and took out Ninety's a two dollar bill and
you really wanted to dollar bill, you put two singles in,
take a two dollar bill? Just doesn't does it weird
out the same way? At like a place it is
where there's a tip jar at the counter, Like what
if I have a five and I only want to
leave you too, and I put the five and I
(10:04):
take three? That that's not as bad because it's not
church like. To me, it's a chee. I'm afraid to
take money out of a tip jar for change because
I'm afraid I'm gonna they're only going to see that,
They're gonna not gonna see the money I put in
to begin with. That's why you have to make a
big deal, are you, or ask them for change and
(10:24):
then put to what do you? Because you don't care
as much as some of us. Do you put tip
money in the tip jar when their backs are turned? Yeah,
I mean they have to see you put that money
right now, you have it slowly. I'm putting this right here. Okay,
(10:45):
there's nothing wrong with that. Have coins? You throw them
into the look, you know, keep in mind coin, it's
not only a money thing. You're actually saying to them, hey,
thank you for thank you for giving me great service
or whatever. So I want them to be able to
look at me and go, oh, you know, thank you
for acknowledging that I do a great job for you. So, okay,
I can see the importance of letting them see you
put money in the I don't. I don't put it
in the tip drawer. I put I lay it down
(11:06):
next to it and let them put it in. I
was getting the valet a tip the other day, uh,
and I had a five and I felt awkward, going, hey,
can I get four bucks back or three bucks back?
So I ended up just forking over five bucks, and
I was like, what do I do? I I'm screwed.
I didn't have money, I didn't have singles on me.
So I will tell you, Garrett to that the art
(11:27):
of having changed this is something that Alex and I do.
We just started doing this several weeks ago. We have
we go to the bank and get changed because now
at Chase you can tell it like what denomination is
to give you, Like if you want to take out
a hundred, it will give you so many twenties, so
many five, so many ones whatever or whatever. And uh yeah,
so I always look look at Brody already has five ones.
I'm ready to tip. That's five days worth. I don't
(11:51):
tip them. They tipped me to leave. I mean, don't
you have changed? How much money do you have in
your pocket right now? I just showed you the five singles.
That's it. We'll see. I have a lot. I got
a five. I don't carry cash, I think in my pocket?
How do you tip people? You know? If I have
to go somewhere, then I'll make sure I have it.
But like on a normal day, I wouldn't carry cash.
(12:13):
I would water, breakfast, somebody pick up the horse. Elvis
just choked? Did I tap that for you? I have
eight singles and some twenties wrapped around. I'm sorry. My
mom gave me this hundred for my birthday and I
haven't spent it yet. There you go. I have forty
eight dollars. Alright, let me double. I have a lot
(12:35):
of cash. But you know what, you know where I
got the cash was somebody in this room gifted it
to me for Christmas and I still have it that
real fast, Yeah, Disney got all right? So as you
see Gandhi leave the building, did they roll her? You
lost your wallet recently? No? I lost my wallet a
year ago. Yeah, but that's recently in your life. Why
would you carry money around your wallet? Loser? Because I
(12:56):
purchased some art this weekend and I was maybe going
to pay for it in cash, so I brought it
with me and then I just haven't transferred yet. Is
so curious about why she has cash. I usually go
to an A t M on Friday, so on Fridays
I'll take out what I think I might need for
the weekend Friday ships. Everyone. I can't hear what you're saying. What,
(13:19):
So I'll go go to the A TM on Fridays
before I go see, Uh, you know, no, George the
barber first, because I have to get money to pay
him as well. You don't have hair, but how much?
So you buzze your head? Yes? How much do you
pay for George the barber to buzz your head every Friday?
Oh my god, but he does my eyebrows. You sit
(13:44):
there and talk that job at time? You pay for
bro talking? Yes, if you understand. For myself though, it's
a good forty five minutes for me to sit and like,
you know, be guys and kind of do that. To
do that it's worth then it's worth every penny I
get it. Give you a drink at least once let
(14:05):
him speak. Let him speak, you guys, are it took
you three minutes to do it? Did? Once I leave,
then I don't. I won't be able to do bro
talk anymore. I had that kind of moment because then
it's like, onto my normal weekend plans whatever. So that
is more to me than just getting the head shaved.
(14:25):
You get the eyebrows, plush your hang and a therapy session.
It's prostitution whatever it is. And because you have girls
at home and so you feel like you need No,
it's just that that's my time to be with the
boys and hang. I appreciate it. They only went in here,
that does, but I appreciate it. No, please don't say
whatever it's like let's have a show where everyone speaks
(14:49):
at the same time. That's in the podcast Okay with
You I Wrong, The fifteen minute Morning Show
