Speaker 1 (00:03):
Everybody clear the throats. Are we on? Garret? Are you
a recording right now? We speak? We are? Okay? That
means Ron Jake, are you with us? Okay? So it's
just the three of us. All right. I'm gonna hit
the button and uh we're just gonna go from here.
Are you ready? Okay? We are a go for launch
in three, two and one. Don't hit the button. I

(00:26):
want three three to one the mouth. It doesn't work, man,
it doesn't work. Okay, recording, I got it? Yeah. Um,
this is n it's flow rida. This one here says spring. Nope,
that one's idol fifteen in the morn show? What would

(00:47):
you talk about on your on your podcasts show? Ladies
and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. I'm
Greg t in the room with me now in the studio.
I've got Garrett here, and I've got Jake, our fine producer.

(01:12):
All right, so I'm gonna lower the music and we're
gonna dive right on in. Um. And you know the deal.
Every time you hear um me and or Garrett or
Jake or your Ritsa or whoever um, you're hearing uh
something that you're not supposed to be right that. What
happens is that, like we always say, is that Elvis

(01:32):
Duran Morning Show needed to go interview a celeb or
do something for a later air date. So therefore, while
that's going on, I was told to come host the
fifteen minute Morning Show podcast. So who knows what we're
gonna get into, Like we do know, there's one subject
I do want to get into, So let's start right there.
The reason why Jake the producer is with us right

(01:54):
now is something that you guys should know about behind
the scenes. Is that right before vacation, right before the
Morning Show leaves for the end of the year, like
it's over two eighteen or a couple of days away
till it's complete over, we go on a nice vacation
from Christmas till New Year's But what what a lot
of people like to do, which I don't understand now.

(02:15):
Garrett and I have talked for many years. Garrett knows
how I feel. Garrett, when we get close to vacation,
where do I go? You mentally check out? I am
checked out. Your body is here, great, the frat boys
is here, but the passion to deliver entertainment is checked out.
For the year a man knows. So the out the

(02:37):
man lives eleven and a half months out of the year,
that's right. The other half gone not here, and with
all our vacations, he probably lives a good nine months
could be. But you know, like a lot of people,
when they see a vacation coming up, whether they're going
to uh An Island, whether they're going to Disney World,
whether they're going wherever, that's what happens, people check out.

(02:59):
So here we are. We've worked the whole entire year,
and you know that we've tried to tell the audience
how hard we work behind the scenes that you know.
The audience of course doesn't know. They just think us
of us having fun for four hours. But behind the
scenes there is a lot of work to be done.
So now Jake is sitting in our meeting, because we
always have a post show meeting. Show ends at ten
am bam. Post show meeting, everybody comes in and we

(03:20):
go around the room. We talk about what's coming up,
what we have to do, who's doing what, all those things.
Jake informs us we have to do X, Y Z
and this and that, and we also have to dress
in black on one day and then dressed an infestive
outfit another day. So I say, Jake, why tell me why? Well?
The problem first problem here is that you check out

(03:41):
before Thanksgiving even happens, correct, So that makes it out,
makes it impossible for me to get anything done. Includes you.
But we have my whole thing, Garrett, I told Jake before,
we have all year. We know that Thanksgivings coming, so
we know that the holiday is coming. So just like
an artist records a Christmas song July, you, Greg would

(04:02):
like to take this holiday photo sometime in and around summertime? Did?
He says? Exactly? Play Michael blue Blay does not record
a new Christmas song in December around I told you
that we were doing a holiday shoot in July. You
would come to me and you say, I don't have
my Christmas health for here. How am I supposed to
have that in the middle of the summer. Doesn't have

(04:22):
trying to do it during Christmas would? And You're like,
it's too close to the time that we have on vacations.
So how am I supposed to cut dress up? Fair enough,
But if somebody would mind a solution to you, if
somebody would say, hey, listen, one of the things we
have to do before we get away on vacation. We
need to take a Christmas shot so we can put
it on a Christmas card and send it to people.
We would all be like on board, no problems, We're
not doing but we would all be on board, and

(04:42):
then next year nobody would be on nobody is It's
it's impossible to make every single person happy here, so
I gave up on trying to do. Okay, fine, what
else do we have to do. We have to schedule
all of our rerun Best of Moments shows for the
past year. That takes a lot of time. That's another
thing you aboudy doesn't know is that that falls on
my coming. Dude, seriously, a lot of complains. That falls

(05:06):
on my shoulders. I, me and producer Sam have the
schedule all of these best of Year round moments two
weeks of best It takes almost a full month. I've
already begun putting together templates. Okay, that's all it takes,
all right, until you started that. Let's let's look at
this and there's a Christmas party. Can I tell you
what I'm asking of people I know to take a picture?

(05:28):
Nobody know. You didn't explain exactly what we're doing for
holiday photos. I said, I need everybody to come and
dressed in all black, yes, and also have a festive outfit.
We're taking a holiday photo and video, and we're doing
a New Year's photo and video and video. There for
you guys is to show up, dress up. Then all
of the hard work. If I don't want to wear

(05:50):
black to work that day, so now I'm in a bag.
I gotta carry something else into work. Yes, And what
you also just said is now it's a video. Wasn't
just a picture. But that doesn't affect you at all.
But now we're doing the video. Bring in your all
black outfit in July so that you're ready by the
time I want to if we descend, what if we
take his photo in July and then into the photo right,

(06:13):
so you know there was a complaint, but do you
realize it's just a photo. It's a photo in a video.
But we can photoshot because he has so many other
things on it. That's right. Have too many things on
my plate one year to freak out around this time
outside of work, like at home. But I'm not alone.
Everybody does. But that's not everybody. But this did you
look at the stats. The stats on people freaking out

(06:33):
and doing crazy things happens. This one is poll. It
says Wikipedia. It happens more right around this year than
it does in any other of the year. Just because
they did a poll doesn't mean you need to feed
into it. I'm not. I'm living in no but you're
feeding into it by by complaining about taking a photo.

(06:54):
Take the photo good. We also have things to do,
like the family. I have things to get done to
the house. Plus we have to travel this week. We
have to go to Philadelphia. We have to go to Miami.
We have to go back here to New York. There's
shows to put on. We have to host the all
the jingle ball concerts all over the place. There's there's

(07:15):
there's flying, checking into hotels. What do you have to
do for jingle Ball? I have to go to Philadelphia.
I have to come back to New York. I have
to do. I don't go to Miami because I don't
like to fly. So although next year Elvis said that
I have, I cannot. It's been too many years now
Now I have to go. Well, you're lucky, because I
was gonna fly us somewhere to do our Christmas picture.
But I was being considered because I was like, Greg

(07:37):
Tea really hates playing, so I'm not gonna. I'm not
gonna make us fly. We also have to get in
all these last minute interviews. That's why we're hosting right now.
That is a lot, okay, right, every single record label
artists and they all they all want to bring them
in now instead of bringing them in, you know earlier
now in December, they want to bring them in. This
makes you enjoy January so much more because then we

(07:58):
come back in January and everything's like and then you know,
Brodie's got people recording songs. I mean, on top of
we have to were still to crank out phone taps.
There's Danielle, Come on in, Danielle. Danielle. He's checked out, Danielle.
How crazy do you get this time of year? Oh
my gosh, what do you mean that we're doing with

(08:19):
it is? It's just a lot to do right and
a little. When you're a kid, the holidays are so exciting,
but it takes forever to get there. Right. When you're
an adult, the holidays are still so exciting, but they
come so fast and there's never enough time to do, correct.
So I was asking Jake about wearing this black outfit
and the holiday outfit and recording songs and doing all

(08:41):
these things that the next two weeks we got stuff
every day, things that we should do it in the
summer to prep for the holidays next year. You know,
that's how they that's how they do catalogs and stuff.
And you know what else, Art brought up a great point,
tell him about like Michael Bublake, tell me what you
told me before the Michael Boublet, as we know, doesn't

(09:01):
record his holiday Christmas album in December. No, of course
not so. So Gregg te proposes, that's right that we
take this photo in July. And because why because where's
Greg team mentally right around? What would Greg t say
if I said to everybody in July, I need you
all to come in in festivalfits tomorrow. It's like, listen,

(09:29):
I'm just saying that he is the thing to take
it one day at a time, thank you. This is
what I've taught myself, actually, my husband's taught me to
go ahead that if I look at everything I have
in the next two weeks, I'm so overwhelmed, right, But
if I take things two days at a time, and
I go, Okay, I know I have to go to Philly's.
I know I gotta pack, and I know I have
to leave a list for the kids, and Okay, well,

(09:49):
I'll worry about Thursday when I get home on Thursday,
and I'll worry about Friday and Friday, and you just
you just you only look ahead a couple of days
and then it's not as overwhelming and you feel like
you can actually get it done. It sounds great on paper.
So right now you shouldn't even be thinking about our
holiday photo because it's over a week away. Yeah, I'm
not thinking about it. I all I know is okay,

(10:10):
on that day, I need a black outfit. But you
also still have to fly to Miami, to go to Philadelphia,
come back to New York, checking the all these hotels.
There's a lot going on. There's the Christmas party, right,
there's other client things you have to do, right, and
then there's dressing up in black and a festive outfit
and recording songs with Brody and and still doing our
podcasts and phone taps. I mean, when does it all?

(10:34):
It's part of life. You just got to get it done,
all right. Another job. You know what, it would be fun.
You guys should go to other places and see what
they do in these offices. It's very quiet. You got
a lot of work done. I think that would drive
you insane. I like being in the obnoxious office. You
would be You would literally go insane if you had

(10:56):
to work in a quiet office. He cannot schedule anything
like December. He's already on vacation. He's a vacation mode.
He's checked out, checked He does other than appearances where
he can make extra cash, and and and putting together
all the best of all the best shows. Other than that,
he's not here anymore. Can you eat anymore? Can you
do anything? Don't ask him to film anything? Why don't know?

(11:16):
Every year we take a holiday picture. You know last
year we did it. Keep on putting Starburst in your ut.
He was checked out before Thanksgiving, so it's not possible
to make him happy that I was not checked out
before thanks getting no no thanks? Evings a little too
early out now, yes he is. The starburst is relaxing
as soon as as soon as jingle Ball is over,

(11:36):
that's where great Tea checks out. Yeah, right, so we
have two days to make and you know him. He
doesn't go to Miami at all, never goes to Miami.
So his week after this week, he's done, Alice told me.
Alas told me privately, he's been too many years. And
then next year I have to go to my good
too bad down you can drive. We have a great

(11:58):
time in Miami. It's so much. It's fun. I mean,
I don't go every year, but I try to go
more often than not. It doesn't feel like Christmas in Miami.
It does to the people who live there, So you
want to take our holiday picture in the summer when
it doesn't feel like Christmas. And a lot of our
listeners are in Miami and they celebrate Christmas. I see
joggers running around in red and white, you know, outfits
with shorts and a hat on and palm trees. Right,

(12:20):
they look like Santa Claus and shorts. It's not the same.
It's not the same with palm trees. And because for
the Floridians it's the same, you know, I feel like
we've seen that song to them in Florida. Do they
know it's Christmas time? That the difference that was her
charity and that one's a whole different meaning. I will

(12:42):
never forget the year that we went down to Miami
and it was Christmas time. That was like ago, and
I remember having a balcony and I'm going out on
my balcony and I'm here watching the waves crash and
there's women running in the bikinis in December, and I'm like,
do they know? I told you when you time comes,
I'm going to be the first one to go to
the hospital and ask for your brain to be donated.

(13:04):
Oh my god, I'm no, no to science, to science.
Well listen, hey, how did the interview? Guys got that?
You guys did CRUs You had to go. She's wonderful
and she will be here. She's actually gonna be up
in studio Monday. Nice a new line with Converse. Oh yeah,
I don't think shoes. But she didn't ask our sizes.

(13:26):
Song as I know, you know what is what is
one of the biggest? Like you know, I need a
gift idea And I'm a Garrett if you need it
for your wife or Ali, But I can use some
gift ideas for Trish for the holidays. I'm saying, so
speaking up and shake. You have a girly friend, right girl?
A friend who's yeah. So we're saying you need ideas?
Are are you a good gift giver? I feel like

(13:48):
I'm a very good gift giver. You are, You're creative,
but there's too many people to get gifts for. And
I don't even have a huge family, so I don't
know how you guys do when you're married and have
children and everyone. I like have to get from my
sister and my brother. I want my sister law and
they're two kids, and I'm like, what am I supposed
to get their whole family? Now? If you saw my list,
you would we throw up. I love it though. I
like finding just that perfect thing for someone you need,

(14:10):
like a personal shop. I do all my topics topics.
I's almost done. I have a couple of things left,
and half my presents are rapptor. Let's talk about licking
envelopes make you feel Wait wait, wait, listen, we have
a minute a half left, Danielle. I need to know
what is a good creative shoe or something that I
could possibly get for church? For the want a comfy

(14:31):
shoe or does she want comfy? I would go with
it with Vans. No, unless you're getting post blogne I
don't think vans are good for the winter. But see you,
just y, I have a pair of vans with fernside them.
Really drives me crazy. Ch she have a pair of
those one of those rainboots. Everybody loves the girls, the rainboots,

(14:52):
big high rains. They all the girls. They got. You
just asked Danielle to give her advice. She gives the advice,
and what did you do? She's not gonna like vans.
I have a pair of pink and beige vans with
fur inside. Really adorable. Really, I don't know if they
were approved. Interesting. All right, maybe I'll try that. I'm

(15:12):
just saying, you know, this is the jewelry. Uh you
know what she did say? A matter of fact, it's
on her list. She wants a simple chain to wear
around her neck some more every day, a simple chain.
I have to call what's the guy's name that we
hate to Steven Singer? Why do people hate the guy?
I hate? Stephen Singer? I gotta call that dude. All right, listen,

(15:33):
we're about to wrap up. Yeah, there's ten seconds. I'm
gonna donate your brain now. No, al right, guys, thanks
for hanging out in the five am it show that
was horrible way to end things.
