we do hear you, Houston, and uh we are good

to runway four one niner and you're gonna be taking
off and you can be shooting out through the west
(01:28):
heading on up to the moon and enjoy your flight.
All good there, z one Fox. This is the one
foxnotch Houston. We roger that copy and we are ready
to coach to the moon. Over are we recording? Oh
we are or live? Okay? All right, ladies and gentlemen,
(01:50):
it's me Greg T again and Garrett. I love how
you said. And Garrett right, this is what we do.
We have fun with the microphones. And now we're ready
to hit the button. Which button, the green button? And
now that one, that one right and after I hit
this one, just like last time, Uh, you never know
what's gonna happen after I hit the button. Here we
(02:11):
go aga, No, stop hitting the button long button, use
use the use the mouse, use the mouse, use the mouse?
And which one do I hook up with? I don't
understand the one that says fifteen minute morning show. None
of them are here. None of them say fifteen minute
(02:32):
morning show. Not one of them, not one. Oh that one, yeah,
that one does. It clearly says I was looking you
know what, I was looking for the number fifteen, not
the word FA. Okay, right, what would you talk about
on your on your podcast? I don't know morning show?
(02:56):
And I am Greg T and that's Karen over there.
I love how we're gonna act like none of that
happened right before we hit the play button. Well, don't
you like edit that out so they don't hear those
now that stays in? Why why would you call that?
It's like a cold open on SNL. I know. But
what you're supposed to do is you're supposed to go
back and re edit that so that the audience doesn't
see that many things behind the curtains. But I think
(03:19):
the audience loves to look behind the curtain from time
to time, just like they like to go backstage at
our concerts. Oh, they love to see what we do
before we hit go. You know what I like, I
leave to crack up the music. We can come up
with a rap the fifteen minute Morning fifteen minutes, or
leave the rapping to the professional. Why this is if
you were to try to wrap Greig Tea and I
(03:40):
think you have not exactly so why Yes, it could
be funny, but I don't you would take it seriously.
I would take it as a joke, but then you
would be offended that I'm not taking a seriously. I'm offended.
Let's try it again. It fades down, by the way.
Oh it's totally gone. Yes, Oh, yoh, that's not fun.
Oh I really wanted to do that one more time. See,
(04:01):
I don't know, I don't know. See that's the perfect
out for you to go. Oh, man, I wish I
could rap because the music's gone. Fiven minute Morning Show.
I'm Greg Tea. We got Garrett over there. We are
in jeopardy because I say, we don't know what to
talk about. What do we want to talk? Come about?
So here's what's happening again again the Elvis Durand Morning Show.
(04:23):
All the important people of the show need to be
in another studio and they need to be taking care
of some business while the two of us are expendable.
So basically that's what it is. You know, our executive
producers streaking in is like you two go, this could
be interesting. Where would you put yourself and I or
me expendable on the totem pole. It's hard to say
(04:45):
because we both do different things. Of course, there's too
many There's different things that are needed and asked of
both of us at different times. So I don't know
really where we put each other. I think I think
Mount Rushmore on the show. You're on the show, really
Mount Rushmore. I'm up there. My face is there four
on the show? Elvis, Danielle. You I don't know the
last person on Mount Rushmore of the show is you know.
(05:06):
It's it's almost you need an interchangeable face. Really. See.
You can argue scary because he's been here though the longest.
Well he's only been here longer than me by a
month and a half. I don't think he's been there, Okay,
so yeah, technically he's been there. That aside. You gotta
you gotta figure who would be the Mount Rushmore of
the show. Obviously Elvis being Elvis, Danielle just being right
(05:29):
alongside right you doing what you've done in your career
on this show. I'm riding on the heels of my legacy.
I think I think it's a variable fourth face on
the Mount Rushmore of the show. Well, you know, it's interesting.
Just the other day, I mean, Gandhi, you would think
Gandhi would be the fourth face Mount Rushmore. You can't
throw on Mount Rushmore day three yet day three, but
(05:51):
you would think that there would be a placeholder that
says Gandhi on Mount Rushmore of the show. So just
the other day, I was having a meeting with Coast
with Josh Yes and we were talking about, you know,
what some of us have done here with our careers,
you know, with the morning show and uh and and
I said, I said, dude, I've done nothing. I've earned
(06:13):
no stripes. And then he and he started laughing, and
I said, what are you laughing at? And he said,
I'm not going to sit here and tell you everything
that you've accomplished, and I'm not going to go down
that road with you. And I said what road? Yeah,
it is is pretty much like a pity party because
like you you want me to tell you t like no,
remember the time you got arrested at Martha Stewart, I
(06:34):
guess and you know you did it. Well, here's the thing, Okay,
let's let's talk about it like with with athletes, for instance,
like Wayne Gretzky. We all know Wayne Gretzky, right, he's
a household name. Right, he doesn't play anymore, is retired,
but still everybody knows the name Wayne gretz of course.
So when Wayne Gretzky was playing, do you think that
he looked at himself as Wow, I'm Wayne Gretzky at
(06:57):
the time, the way the fans looked at him and
was like, oh my god, that's Wayne Gretzky. I don't
think he does. Like you know, today we had Josh
Grobin on the show, right, and we can all agree
Josh Grobin is his voice is so voice of an angel,
voice of an angel. Right. He is such a a
list personality character. He's he's a super celebs, he's an
(07:21):
amazing is iconic. Right, he is a legend, He's a
living legend. Right, you would say, I would say he
is up there in the voices. Right. So's if there
was ever this this grand Hall of Fame one day,
Josh Grobin, his path is already paved right. So do
you think that he walks around and says, I'm Josh Grobin,
(07:42):
like I know what I've accomplished. I don't think he does.
I think he knows what he's accomplished. I mean, he
said this morning that it's been about twenty years. He's
busted his butt right now he can pretty much, you know, yeah,
But does he realize that people look at him like
he's a legend? That a legend. I don't think you
look at it, but you know you're a complishments when
you get to that level. Just like Lebron James knows
(08:03):
he's he's a very good basketball player. Does he realize
but he's Lebron James a living legend. He he knows
he's a very good basketball player. Michael Jordan's at the time,
Did Michael Jordan know that he was a living legend?
Josh Grobin and Josh Game an artist, they pretty much
they know that they've accomplished a lot for their success
that they've received from the things that they've done to
get to the point in their career. With jay Z,
(08:24):
does jay Z realize like when he wakes up in
the morning, is he just a normal person? Or does
he realize he goes, Wow, I'm jay Z, I'm a
living legend. I don't think like if you think that way,
it kind of makes you conceded. But you do realize
your accomplishments of your career. I mean, and I'm not
saying that I'm a living legend. I'm that so what
I'm saying. But like, you know, this is what Josh,
(08:45):
this is what coast Woo Josh and I were talking about.
It's what you kind of started to allude to with
the Mount Rushmore kind of thing of the Morning Show. Now,
I don't see it like that. I don't feel it
that way. But you don't feel it because you're so
invested in the product itself. Now, if you and I
went on the street and started talking to people just
having downstairs, I was in Starbucks. I literally went downstairs.
(09:06):
I went to go get an egg sandwich and I
was waiting there behind the counter and the guy that
was Starbucks. We have so many great delis that get
nobody was right downstairs and good egg sandwiches, and you'll
go to Starbucks. I just wanted to run. You know,
you're living legend, and when you can afford an egg
sandwich at Starbucks. Listen, if it was if it was Harry's,
I would have went there. It didn't matter what it was.
I would have just I wanted to go quickly. Well
(09:27):
you're a namehoor too. You love names. It has to
have a name attached to it for you in order
for you to eat it. I do like, what kind
of blowpop do you have? Like listen, I'm just saying. So.
When I was down there, the guy behind the counter goes,
he goes, yo, are you Greg Tea? And I go yeah,
and he goes go, man, I love that show. And
I'm like, well, thank you. Then I turned around and
then I was leaving and a girl overheard him say it.
So then she came up to me and she says,
(09:48):
Greg Ta, I'm sorry. I just heard him say your name.
And I was wondering if I can get a picture
with you. So I'm like, yeah, sure, no problem. It
wasn't a big deal. Like and to me, I'm like,
I better hurry up and get upstairs or else Elvis
is gonna get mad that we don't. We're not in
the me. So I was like, So I didn't think
of myself as like wow, that just happened. So you
played it off. You played it off like you were
you're doing something the business. You were getting an egg sandwich.
Why would you just say, I'm sorry, I was getting
(10:10):
a next sandwich. But see right there, that's what I'm
talking about, where you we can get out of this
bubble of the radio station and you could personally see
that you have affected positive or negative, depending on how
you want to look at it. People's lives. There's got
to be other people outside of the entertainment business that
are their own, you know, I guess, living legends of
(10:33):
their industry. Whether you're a doctor, I'm sure in if
you're I love how you're having this conversation about living legends.
But you want to preface I'm not talking about myself.
I'm not talking about me, but I'm not. But then
how I get what you're saying. But you're also trying
to include yourself into this conversation. We were talking about you.
You not realizing I try to get out of it
when it's all about me. I try to get out
(10:53):
as fast as I possibly can. Why though that, I mean,
the conversation is we're talking about the mountain USh Moore, which, yes,
I haven't heard if you agree or disagree, or if
you have a fourth face on that. I want to agree.
I don't want to disagree. I I you would. So
I feel very uncomfortable about myself in this situation, Like
we're not talking about yourself, we're talking about the show
in general. So iHeart iHeart media, iHeart radio. Comes to
(11:17):
the show and says, hey, we've we've we We're gonna
put up a billboard. No no, no, no no, We're gonna
stick to Mount Rushmore, Mount Rushmore. Yeah, we're gonna put
a Mount Rushmore up of the morning show. Yeah, okay,
we need everyone's opinion, right, Okay, obviously we're going to
include Elvis and Danielle. I want to everybody, but no,
you only have four faces. I like that everybody can
get a rack Mount Rushmore. I will. Yes, that's a
(11:39):
whole other topic that you love to give everyone something? Yeah?
Uh but who what are the other two? Then? If
you're not going to include yourself, you said you want
to take yourself out, who would you put on if
I'm not including myself? Well, no, you can whatever. I
don't know, man, why wouldn't you put yourself a part
of it? You are a part of this show. You
you've been a part of it since day one. But
I bet you that there are I bet you Elvis
(12:01):
Duran listeners that would disagree and they would say, you
know what, Greg T, Well, those are the ones not
good enough. I bet you, like you can cough on
air and people will hate you for that. We've come
to realize, right, That's that's what I'm saying. Specifically, you
are a hit or missed type of person. That's why
I realize. And that's why, Garrett, that's why I take
myself out so fast, because I keep a level head.
(12:23):
I know that there are people listening to this podcast
that have already turned it off and said, I can't
stand Greg T. I gotta get out of here. I
don't want to listen to I want the rest of
the morning show here. I know that they're they're not
getting it. I can tell you that spoiler. But I
but I know that there are people that that don't
like me on the radio. They don't let don't enjoy
it happens. But you tend to go to this negative,
(12:43):
not negative route. But you find the negativeness in a situation.
You find the negatives in this situation where what I
think that keeps you level headed when you find the
negatives if you don't feel that you're negative. But if
you don't enjoy the accomplishments, what's the point of enjoying
the accomplishments when you spend all day looking for the
negative in a situation? Wow, that's really good. I gotta
(13:03):
tell you I have, and Elvis will vouch because I've
had many of quiet conversations with him. I have not
enjoyed look the private moment. I have not enjoyed anything
any of the accolades that have really, But you know,
you'll come along with this and I've earned I haven't enjoyed.
(13:24):
But what you have is you've put on a soapbox
at times, more of the negativeness of a text message
or a tweet. I have. That's right, right, So so
take that time. I mean, I think we've all said it.
Elvis says it to me a lot. He always says, Tea,
let yourself off the hook and enjoy the successes of
the show and yourself. And I have yet to ever
(13:45):
really do that. I just I have think how much
you would be enjoying the situation at times and not
looking forward to you know what someone's going to think, Garrett,
You're absolutely correct. I'm not kidding. I'm not looking appreciate it,
but I'm just saying you're right. I'm not going to stop.
And I think know too. Everybody has an opinion. Obviously
they're They're like a holes. Everyone has one, and you
(14:07):
just can't let those affect you as much as it does.
So I ask you again, thinking about it, you have
Danielle Elvis on Mount Rushmore. Ye, do you put yourself
on there? I would put you on there. I would
put Scary there. I guess that's three faces. So you're
telling me you're gonna put Brody over you? There's well,
I mean, Brody's he's been there a long time, he's
(14:27):
been a big song. Brody's going to get the face
on Mount Rushmore and you are not. You don't think
that people realize how much Brody does. Brody is he does.
And I'm not knocking that, but I'm talking. You know
how many people were there when they were assigning the constitution. Yeah,
but just because we're the faces doesn't mean that we
are the most creative. It takes a lot of us
to make the show creative and I'm getting so successful.
(14:48):
I get that, but you're killing this the argument by saying, well, everyone,
you do a lot on the show, of course, but
the audience doesn't know half the things that you do
behind the scenes. But that's the thing. The masses are
not going to say. When they walk by the statues,
the faces, They're gonna be like, oh, that's that's Garrett whatever.
What about Nate? Nate's are an executive senior producer. Again,
(15:08):
I tell you, I ask you this. So you're gonna
go for cult man, so you're not gonna put yourself
on it. What did we just talk about? I guess, Okay,
I guess listen, Oh my gosh, I guess if it
came down to it, there's Elvis, of course. And I mean, yes,
me and Danielle and Scary. We are the the ogs
(15:28):
of the group. We're the originals, right, Okay, we were
here Sree day one that we turned the show on
day one. That only took ten minutes to figure the
four of us have been day one, all right. So
I guess if you had to look at the show
like that, I guess you would say the original four
would have to be there. I guess I don't even know,
and I'm not playing that sure, then I think a placeholder.
(15:51):
I would be fine. I'd be fine. If they said
you're not on there, I'd be I'd be like, all right, fine,
So then I've upset. When I retired, the rest of history, yes,
would would just totally go out the window. Like people
would would not know you, they would know they would
know someone else who your face should be there. But
I often think that when I am, when I'm gone,
that from the show, not on earth either way. When
(16:13):
I'm gone, I just hope that I have made a
lasting impression on everybody good enough that people will speak
highly of me when I'm gone, and that they will
say that, you know what there was. He wasn't just funny, right,
He wasn't just a funny dude. But I actually got him.
I think about it now, and I get what he
was trying to do. I get what he was trying
(16:33):
to say. That's real, That's what I think. Would I
would like that at the end of the day. This
is kind of creepy, knowing the fact that you're scared
going into lightbo tomorrow. That's right. If something happened, oh
that's why why you have to ask you one thing.
God forbid, something should happen to me while I'm going
to get this lightboat done, which nothing's gonna happen, but
God forbid. So my anniversary, my real wedding anniversary, talk quick,
is almost done here. My real wedding anniversary is Friday. Right,
(16:55):
So if I'm not around on the twenty first of
September next year, can you please get a dozen cow
lilies to deliver the trish and just tell her I
would have given it to her anyway, well, because I
always say yes the order so that they're coming already Friday,
I will say yes, but I so just one more
time would be good. Yes, I will never. I hope
(17:17):
I never have to come to that. I try. What
I do is I try to get her the flower
that she held on the day that we got married,
and that was Those were cal lilies, So every universe
regular cal lilies to hold on to. All right, listen,
I'm gonna quote this sandlot for you. Remember, kid, there's
heroes and there are the legends. Heroes get remembered, but
legends never die. Follow your hard, kid, and you'll never
go wrong. That's nice. Man, that's nice. Love please everybody.
(17:39):
The fifteen minute Morning Show
