Speaker 1 (00:02):
What would you talk about on your on your podcasts show? Okay,
we got a really full house today, so cool. It
never happens. The most special guest is Daniel's son, Spencer's

(00:23):
here high. What's up, Spencer. Great to have you here.
You're gonna be hosting some of this too, So all right,
but I do want Andrew the Okay, so Andrew. Anybody
that doesn't know Andrew and our staff is the biggest
Survivor fan. I know I am that I am, and
so I want you to make some introductions, right, absolutely,
So we have the winner of Survivor thirty six, Wendell. Yes,

(00:45):
of course, our favorite doctor Mike season five. Guys, you're
a doctor of what Mike? I'm a urologist, but I
think I'm known as like the sex doctor. Yes, right, yeah,
I just wanted to clear if you missed that podcast
we did Dr Michael rather graphics. I thought his wife

(01:05):
was going to kill him Fencers here. We have to
be good. He needs to learn. He lives with me,
he knows it all. We also have Brody, we got
great Tea. We got Garrett, Danielle of course and me.
So Andrew, Yes, this is your big opportunity. I know,
so go ahead. I mean, I'm really impressed with like

(01:25):
the actual buff things. How did you actually clean those?
Um carefully? I guess I just threw him in the
I threw him in the watch a few times. They
still have the the original scent kind of because it's
hard to get that out. But you know, it's what
you should describe what the buff things are for people
who don't that they wear for like the full thirty nineties,
but like you sweating them, they get right here, kind

(01:48):
of like infinity bandanas, so they just go in a
big loop. But you know, now, did you ever wear
I didn't see the whole season. Do you ever wear
it as a tubetop like some other people do? I
didn't do that on the What about a speedo speed
I had my own speedo. Actually I didn't need the
buff as a speedo skirt. Were you ever tempted to
use the buff as toilet paper? That's a good question,

(02:10):
and it would have to go around my neck or
around my head after that, the butt buff maybe next time.
You were a huge fan of Survivor, just like Androids
before you got on the show. Yeah, I was. And
didn't you say you said. I heard an interview where
you said, like you really just wanted to prove that
you could go without food for that long and all
those things for that long. I wanted to prove to
myself that I could do that. I growing up, I

(02:33):
used to build treehouses and build forts outside. I like
being outside, so I wanted to see if I could, uh,
you know, withstand those elements. And now when they give
you a million dollar check, how much it comes out
in Texas and can you accept it like the lotto?
Can you get a lump sum or can you get
it like split up over the course of like ten years.
They just give you the lump sum and they let

(02:53):
you do with it whatever you wanted. Did your photo
copy of the check? I have a copy of the check. Yes. Nice.
So let's back up here. Wendell uh winner of Survivor
Season thirty six. Dr Mike, you participated on Loser of
Democratic Way, But um, now, Andrew here has been You've

(03:16):
been trying to get a survivor for him your entire life.
He actually got in front of Jeff Probes recently. I
think that's the closest you've gone. But we had to
have Jeff come here though, No, he actually went out
there and audition. Okay, so we have a winner and
a loser from Survivor. What tips can you give Andrew?
Because he's been trying everything, including I think sending stuff
to Jeff Probes's house. How could he get on this show?

(03:39):
What I did? I remained persistent. I applied for like
eight nine years, I said, in many, many tades. I
went to many casting calls. But you're you're in the system.
Now you've been out to l A, you know, so
they're going to keep an eye on you, and you're
gonna get on one day. Good things are going to happen,
and just feel it. Yes, Jeff will be dead, but
I mean Walt Disney, he'll be dead but still doing

(04:01):
the show. I feel like Andrew's that guy too, that
like he you think he's gonna be the nice guy
and then he's going to be really dirty the way
he plays. I feel, yeah, that's probably gonna happen. So, Wendell,
you said eight years you went back to audition, like
try to get on the show. That last year you auditioned.
What do you think it was that sold you for

(04:22):
them to say, you know what, let's give him a
shot on the show. I made kind of a lifestyle change.
I went to law school and I was clerking for
judges outside of the law um after law school, and
then I decided to like start a furniture company and
I started building and kind of being creative. I grew
my hair out, grew my beard out, and I'm like
living my fullest life. And I think when they saw

(04:43):
that version of Wendell, they were like, this is the
guy that we want on the show. So Andrew needs
to grow a beard. Uh yeah, he's got the hair going.
Yeah yeah, So he just say he just needs the beard,
he said, But well, I was just saying I have
a patch in my beard. So I don't know how
that's you. You said you applied eight time. I know
how I would have handled it. Did you watch each
season on seasons you thought you would have been on

(05:05):
right and go, oh, I'm glad I wasn't on this
season because I wouldn't have won that. And did you
watch some of you go there's a bunch of suckers.
I could have definitely won this season. Yeah, there are
there are some seasons that I look at him. I
see some of the characters and I'm like, jeez, I
wouldn't have wanted to play with him. That's a tough guy,
or that's a guy that seems he seems like the
kind of player I would play like. I emulated my game,
my game off of a guy named Jeremy Collins. He's

(05:27):
a very tough player. He won. And uh so, Yeah,
there were seasons that I would not really want to
go on, and I think my season was the perfect
season for me. Actually was there? Who know? Andrew would know?
Who was the one person that you said I would
never play against them? Like the scariest Dr Mike No I, Um,
I guess eight gay in Um. The guy's name was

(05:50):
Tony Oh, the cop from Jersey City. He was fantastic,
my all time favorite. He hidden bushes, he spied on people.
He was the and he was funny about it. He
found all the idols. He lied about idols, I mean
the immunity as how much Survivor trivia do you know? Like?
Who do you know who the original Survivor winner is?
Everybody I want to know. I want to know that

(06:12):
the stupid was the stupid one? It was it Tina? Yeah,
and that and season two gave us Elizabeth Hasselball. Oh
my gosh, Elizabeth's legs. I remember when she came back.
She had so many bites, like she was a mess,
that poor thing. Yeah, well, it's s Spencer. So you
watched the show at home with mom every week. Do
you have any questions? Yeah, I actually have one question

(06:34):
that I've been wanted asking for a while. Was it
hard to like adjust back to your normal lifestyle after
you finished Survivor because you haven't had much food on
the island. So yeah, so I was. I was starving
out there. I did win a couple of food rewards,
so I was lucky, but I still lost twenty six
pounds out there. Then I came home twenty pounds and
I'm not the biggest guy already, so I came back

(06:55):
a hundred fifty something pounds, and everyone was like, what
really happened on that I in Man, they kind of
thought that I did pretty well. And I come home
knowing that it ends in this historic tie, and like
a day, like twenty four hours earlier, I just came
from Final Travel and I think that I won the game,
and now I'm back into my normal, normal life. So

(07:17):
it was it was kind of a crazy transition. I
was kind of on a high because I really felt
that I won. Um, but then I have to keep
this secret for almost a year, which is crazy. Yeah,
that's the floor I did not know. I enjoyed my bed.
Did you sleep on the floor a couple of times?
Did you? Did you have to monitor what you bought?

(07:38):
Like you knew you were gonna win, and you were
pretty confident. You're like, I want to get a new car.
But if I get a new car, people are gonna
know what I want. So were the things you snuck
in that you bought? Like small stuff like a ring
or something or um, I didn't well, I mean something
small you could hide in your draws. Pe people are
gonna know we want a trail. Well, I would need

(08:01):
some money to buy a porch. They didn't give me
the check until the finale, however, however, Um like I bought.
I bought a Rihanna shower curtain for like sixty something dollars.
I love Rihanna, So that was my one big purchase
before I won. No one's gonna be suspicious. People were saying, like,
that's what you spent your money on? Them? Like, I
mean I love so I have one you touched on

(08:25):
before you said you want some food challenges. The one
thing that we don't see usually on televisions, like after
you eat like a snail, you know, like nobody just
eats a live snail, you know, nobody eats some of
these things that you know, like goats, brains or whatever.
It is, So like that night, after you've gone through
eating all this stuff, is your stomach like just gargling.
Are you sick? I mean I've gone to like White
Castle where I'm like make way, make way, and that's

(08:47):
like cooked on a stove, you know, but like you know,
where do you you know? How is your at the
end of the night, right, and you've eating those live food,
disgusting things. So you're not eating a lot of those
disgusting things. You really you're starving out there. And the
small amount of snail or um, hermit crab or whatever
I was able to salvage out there, it does go

(09:09):
through your system. But it's not like you have to
run to the facilities or out there was the ocean,
you wouldn't have to, like ye, but but but they're
all like mixing in together, like it's like mush in
your stomach. Now it's like, how do you survive that?
I think what great he's getting at is you're all
cuddling the shelter, it's really cold. You start farting. Is

(09:29):
somebody owning it? Or you like? Who did that? Who
did that? And everybody's just quiet. Um, I don't remember
the fart situation in the bed. Well, go going off
the food question wendoles So and Mike too. After you
eat crap all right, and or a day after you're
you haven't eaten in two days? You see Jeff Probes

(09:50):
come on set. He obviously just slept in a hotel somewhere,
had had room service, air conditioning, air conditioning. How do
you not want to punch him in the face. Provost
is a likable guy, so it's very likable. But he
just lived a lifestyle and you are fighting for a
leaf to eat well, I mean on reward challenges, he
would you know, he put something delicious in front of us,

(10:13):
and fortunate enough for me, I won quite a few
reward challenges, so I was able to sometimes I was
able to eat pretty well. Do you ever get hungry
on the island though? You gotta control those emotions, yeah,
you do. You wanna like there are so many different
aspects and different things that make you upset, especially hunger.
But it's like, man, in the game of Survivor, you

(10:33):
gotta be there's a there's a social component to the game.
So so where do you go from here? Whe's your
fifteen minutes of fame taking you? Now? Um? Well, before
this I was designing furniture and building furniture, and um
see a spike and sales in your furniture after Yeah,
we have quite a few orders. Um yeah, it's it's
going pretty well. But now I'm like doing a lot
more interviews and a lot more press and stuff, so

(10:55):
I got to really manage my time with that. Well,
what's your furniture? You might as well. The company's called
BEEF that's b E v E. And on social media
it's BEA unlimited. So go check us out. You'll see
all of our amazing furniture out of reclaimed would our
Our hashtag is hashtag let's talk about your bed? Okay,
that's that's fantastic. I know Dr Mike is very jealous

(11:16):
because well, you lost. I really think that's nice to
keep rubbing that, Mike. I tell Nate how you finished
it in the show. What number I finished fifth? I
only made it thirty seven out of thirty nine days.
That's really good. That's like winning the silver medal in
the Olympics. Yeah, you should be so lucky. I'd rather

(11:38):
have if you wouldn't last a minute, if you were
running second in a in a race, you'd slow down
to come in third because I would know that I'm
that much closer to winning. And I just didn't do it.
I think somebody was a lot not when the bronze either. Really,
I wouldn't even run the race. There's a reason my
knee up voted out when we played with Jeff on
the shower. When you were watching this sucker, Mike, did

(12:02):
you think Wendell was gonna win or did you have
your money on another person at the show? No, I
think Wendell was probably my winner pick. It was definitely
my He was definitely my wife's winner pick. And so
yeah we are. But but Mike, I thought you were

(12:24):
telling me during the season, like, there's no way you
can win this. Well, I just I kept trying to
come up with reasons why I didn't like, why he
wasn't going to win. That's what a guy that came
in fifth place, says to a guy that we were
at home, kept saying I wanted to win the whole time,
so it was your dominic, But dominic he was. He

(12:44):
played too dirty for me, Like he just he's a
New Yorker and I'm supposed to have no support my
New Yorkers. But he there are certain things that he did.
I was just like, ah that, My question is, how
did you become so close to him? Because most people
hated his guts on that chop. Well, we were in
the same casting way back, and then um, there was
a point you're not allowed to talk to each other

(13:05):
in casting. But there was a point that he and
I got in the same van and we're both in
the back of the van. I sat down first, I
looked at him, and I gave him a fist pound
real quick. We gave each other a debt, and I
was like, that was my little interaction, and I was like,
we're gonna work together. Then we end up on the
same tribe to start, and the way the numbers fell,
we just we gravitated towards one another. We're both kind

(13:27):
of older North Eastern guys, and uh, yeah, that was
our little connection. Did they make him look more of
in like the editing process the bad guy? Like do
they sit there and go, Okay, Dominic is going to
be the villain, let's edit him to look like the villain?
Or is it pretty much what you see is what
you get. What you saw was kind of what you got.
Um he. I think he could have went into many

(13:50):
seasons and done very well. He could have. I think
he kind of changed his game a little bit for
our season, because like he could have been a real villain.
He could have been like a Tony out there and
really just took hold of the whole season. But because
he's on the season with a bunch of like friendly
people and whatnot, he had to be the family guy.
Do okay, do you think Tom's fatal flaw was not

(14:10):
voting you out? Yeah? You should have got me out
of there. Why didn't he? I mean, he's obviously a
really good player. Why didn't he say this guy has
to go home? Kind of I think for the same
reason why Laurel didn't get any of us out there,
because once one of us goes, I think the rest
of Like, if I vote him out, then I'll go
early because I will be the threat it was. Do

(14:32):
you still talk to him? We only have about fifteen
seconds here, but I do want to get a winner
and a loser from Survivor. I want to get your take.
Do you think Andrew would do well on the show.
I think he would. He's a very likable guy and
I've known him for twenty minutes. Thank you. I think
he would do great on the show. Okay, the tribe
has spokenated but minute morning show
