Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
firms show, They say you keep your friends close and
your enemies closer. Friends enemies closer. How did that start?
Dumb Godfather the freenemies that's a friend of me. But

(00:25):
the term to keep your friends close and your eneme
is closer from the Godfather of the film The Godfather.
It's right what it did start there? Yeah, but they
didn't use the word freenemies and the god not just
wouldn't be Also Ginormous was not in the guard. Well,
why would you keep your enemies closer? Because because you
keep a watch on them, right, Plus they don't know
that you're the your enemy because he's like, oh, he's

(00:46):
hanging out and he's my friend, keeping close so you
keep an eye on him, but also getting a false
sense of security. Then when it's time you pounce. Plus,
nobody thinks that your enemy when you knocked them off,
because you're like, he wouldn't have killed him, he was
his buddy. It's a came. Business Week wrote an article
about with the workplace and and people, you know, backstabbing,
and that's where it came from. According to Wikipedia, uh

(01:06):
Freud once said an intimate friend and uh a hated
enemy have always been indispensable to my emotional life. Not
infrequent friend and enemy have coincided in the same person.
So the thing is, I don't think I've ever been
anyone any friends with anyone under false pretenses, Like I
can't fake that. How do you fake being a friend

(01:27):
with no I've seen you'd be fake with people when
they have something. If they a restaurant, there's a different
or they're in sales, yes, those are in friend of
me is though that's just him be y fake friends.
I have seen, like somebody will bring up a product
that I know you couldn't give two ships about normally.
But that's the best things in sless bread come on

(01:51):
the business sense. But I'm talking about my everyday life.
I can't walk around and forge a relationship. I can't
spend Why would I spend my time because they have
something you want? So you think that I have friends
that might let's say someone owns a restaurant, Yes, you
specifically have friends concert promoter. I have one friend who
only has friends, is friends with people that can get

(02:13):
her places or like get her one up in life,
and once she's finished with that person, she doesn't talk
to them anymore, and I'll go, so whatever happened, And
they go, oh, yeah, we don't talk anymore because you
know what you want. We listen, we're very we are
very privileged. If we missed, stop for a second and look,
shine the light on us, look at us from afar,
and we we have all that stuff already. We have

(02:34):
a lot of great perks. So why would we in
this room? Because that because even even Jeff Bezos owns Amazon,
who became the richest person on the planet this week,
needs something. Just because you have a nice couch doesn't
mean you want You dont want a better couch. You
have a nice car, you want a better cards where
the world works, just like you have a nice TV,
you will always want a better If you think about

(02:56):
this the way we're talking about you friending other people
of something they want, you might have people doing that
to you and you don't realize it. Well that that
was my next question. I think we all do in
this room, especially, we're very vulnerably. I don't have any
fake friends. You don't have people in your life that
are clingers on because I don't have anything. I don't know,
I don't can't do anything for them. No, No, I don't.
You don't think that maybe of somebody in your life

(03:17):
that wouldn't be in your life if you weren't associated
with the show. No, because because all of my friends
are prior to when I worked. You don't think there
are people that continue to talk to you and hopes
that maybe something you'll get them a job. No, because
none of my friends are in race especially now. Yeah,
I don't know. I think there are there are former
employees and interns that that probably keep in touch because
you know, it's networking. But that's about friends here between

(03:40):
networking and fake friends. Fake friends are like, oh, let's
go to dinner or let's go networking, and how many
times to a networker is not a real friend then
to reap the benefits in the future, you know their networking.
If you think someone's your friend, then you find out
they just want concert tickets. That's not that's not networking,
that's using you for tickets. Daniel, I think in this room,
I think you can agree. Scary and Brody are the

(04:01):
two guys right now with an open seat in our
room have gotten the most Like, Hey, you haven't talked
to you in a while probably yeah, yeah, oh yeah,
but but they're not. They're not blatant saying hey, I
want the job. They started with the empty chair, the
empty position. Yeah, um, you've seen it. It's happened. It's
at least happened to you, guys. I'm not asking for

(04:23):
a specific no, but I haven't had anybody. I haven't
had anybody reach out to me that that really hang out.
I'm not finished with what I'm saying. I haven't had
anybody who didn't want to hang out but didn't mention
it like they didn't. It wasn't covert, it was over.
They were like overt, yeah right, it was like, hey,
you know, how's it going. I saw you have a position.

(04:44):
I love to talk to you about it. We should
hang out. They don't be like, oh, I want to
buy you a dinner and like I don't know, like
I know why, but they say it. They go listen
love talking about that. Not because they're kind of person
say is that a worse worser human? Nos, a worse
worser because they're honest about at it. They're like, listen,
we have a connection. You know. The people that sugarcoated,
the people that cloak it. Why would you want to

(05:08):
work with them? Why would you want to work with
someone because then the next time they ask you to
dinner if they get the job, they'll be like, oh,
it's going to dinner, what do they want now? Right?
Every time? So then I'm gonna start losing friends once
they fill the position. Is that what it is? Well,
I think you'll hear from less people. I don't have
one person that I can tell you reached out to
me and said, hey, you know I would be you know,
other than someone who was kidding around thinking they were

(05:30):
being funny because they know they're not other aspects of
your life. But you're not in the position, Daniel to
hire that that person is a good word, But what
about other aspects of your life? You you know, you
could do stuff for people your your husbandman, he's a
powerful realtor. I tell you, my friends really very rarely
ask me for anything. And that's why they're my friends.

(05:51):
Were asking for a favor. Isn't fake? Friend? Every now
and then, like a girlfriend that I've known for years
will say, hey, you know, my daughter really wants to
go and I don't mind that, especially if you're my
good friend and I've known you, and I know that
that's not what you're out for. If you're constantly asked
me for something, that's a problem. My best friends never
asked me for ship. Well, I got acquaintances of course
that asked for the world. I'll tell you what pisses

(06:12):
me off. I don't care if my friends or family
ask me for something if I can do it, you know.
But I've had friends and family asked me to get
them tickets for friends of theirs. Yeah, that I don't like, like, oh,
my friends want to go to this concert, Like, oh,
you got me tickets, but can you get them tickets
to get the funk away from me? Like if you're

(06:32):
asking me for yourself, because it's not. And then my sister,
you know you just you don't like for you. We
don't have piles of tickets. Sometimes we're like, if we
go to jingle Ball, we're given like two tickets, and
if my family doesn't go, then I've got two art tickets.
But my family always going, right. If I know you,
I want to help you out. I don't want to
help your friends out exactly. We talked about this on

(06:53):
m on was it this was the Brooken Boys podcast.
Who do we call into the room, this happened? We
give it away? Oh? Your Ritz and Garrett Garrett Garrett
invited uh set to go to a show, and she goes, oh,
I can't go, but how about I let my friend go? Yeah,
So that's putting Garrett on the spot to give his
tickets away when he probably has a thousand friends that

(07:16):
he'd rather give them to before your friend. Yeah. Yeah, no,
I was like, yeah, no, they just want to They
want people from the show going. Like, why would Garrett
want to sit next to strangers at an event? I agree?
I agree. It wasn't like he had been burning a
hole in his She could have done the wrong thing, though,

(07:37):
and she could have just taken them and then give
them said oh I couldn't make it the last minute.
But she was at least honest about But even then
if it, let's say Garrett gives you ris to the
tickets and your Ritz is like, I don't really want
to go. I'm gonna give me my friend. But if
you're sick, your first call has to be back to
Garrett and say I can't go. We want to do
with the tickets because Garrett might have a cousin or
a friend that he wants. It would have been his

(07:59):
second choice. It's not up to you to give the
tickets away. But at that point, they're my tickets. At
that point has given me that, I would probably say, hey, Garrett,
just so you know, I'm feeling like crap, I'm giving
someone of the tickets. Hope it's okay, and then just
leave it at that. No, because what would you say,
Garrett at that point? But here, but at that point
do you want the aggravation of that now having to

(08:19):
get the tickets back someone else? But if my friend,
let's say, my friend Mike, I'm from whatever from Mike,
and Mike wants to go, and I would rather Mike
goes than your Ritz's friends and my kids, your Ritch's address,
go pick up the tickets. If Mike really wants to go,
he'll get the tickets. I don't want to sit next
to you. Ri's his friends. I don't know them. I'm
sure they're nice people. I'm sure they're nice, but you know,

(08:40):
I want to sit next people. I know if I'm Garrett, right, Garrett,
of course I would want to sit next to me too, right,
Garrett's good people. I want to sit next to Garrett
if it's justin timber Lake concert. No, you don't. I
scream little girl. That's cool. I love being a little girl.
I had three. I screamed my head off at Edge Shearon,
and I screwed my head off at um. Oh my gosh,
the Aunt music Sam Hunt. That was a good one.

(09:03):
And I got to meet him before. Yeah, that was good.
You got to meet him, Yeah, it was good. He's
very tall. You're short, Yeah, well, everybody's tall, Like remember
when Kristin Chenniworth was up here. Yeah, she's tiny, she's tiny.
So she was on Kelly Today, Kelly and Ryan. Yeah,
she was on with Jimmy Fallon leastlie one of them.
He's got a new show. Yeah, and and uh it

(09:25):
was no, it was Stephen Colbert, Steven Colbert l Night
And uh, he's the normal height, but she's so tiny.
He had like bend down and tiny tiny. Yeah, she's
on the new show. Um starts with it sounds like
the rest of the podcast second season, don't text me
already know what it is. But John Lithgow was the
criminal last year. Now I got to look it up.

(09:45):
You know, did you just started? I just started watching
The Center. How's that with Jessica Bill? Oh what show?
It's on Netflix? So is that the one where she
she stamps a guy on the beach? Yes? Right, okay,
and it all makes sense by the end of it.
And the other one I just started watching on Netflix,
which is like Guilty Pleasure. It's called Nailed It. It
is a cooking show. First season was good, but the

(10:05):
second season the same. Let me tell you about Nailed
It though. Nailed It's Coming comes from a YouTube series
where they take all these decorative cakes made by Jack
Torres and and they give average ordinary people who claim
that they're bakers at home to try to compete to
replicate these cakes, but they're complete fails. So they spend
three hours trying to build this dinosaur cake or a

(10:27):
shark cake, and then they compare it to what Jack
Torres did or Oh my gosh, nailed It is nailed
It is anyone nailed it? No, not at all, far
from it, and and it's only for like ten thousand dollars.
But it's one of those shows that you get into
and you start watching every episode because it's only Nailed
It on netflixing of shark cakes? Have you seen the
commercial for the new shark movie Meg. It's like a

(10:49):
mega shark. Uh so is it a shark week? No,
it's a movie, so it looks it's in the theaters,
so it looks like a Jaw's type. You dropped out,
like twenty what do you? You were on your phone?
So we went on, Yeah, you know he did. He
went through his a dress bookoking at s who his
fake friends were. He's got three left and we're not them,
all right, to talk about shark. So this is shark.

(11:10):
It's like a dinosaur shock. They thought it was extinct.
So it's like the size of a boat. It's a
massive shark. So it's eating people like a hundred at
a time. Are you out of ideas for movies? Yes?
The movie is called Meg. If your name is Meg,
you're gonna get abused. You need people, Meg. It looks terrible.
Speaking of jess and Timberlake, going back to him for

(11:30):
a minute, his Instagram account was yesterday was so cute.
He was on a boat with Jessica Biel and she
was fixed. She so he was taking videos of them
and he she fluffed her hair and he stops and
he goes, did you just did you just fix your hair,
and she goes, yeah, of course I did, and then
they both started laughing. But it made them so real
because if we all do it right before, you know
someone's going to take you on Instagram video of you.

(11:52):
You fluff, you make sure your makeup good, you make
your stick good. Always running my fingers through my hair. Yeah.
So she was doing what everyone and every person does.
He even though she has a good deal and she
is a normal person, but he just made her more human.
She can't look on a track, she cannot look like
she's got a fluff for head. She can't look I'm
saying she's not allowed to celebrities. If they post something

(12:14):
where it'll look good, they get ripped on social media.
Have you been watching Agla's Instagram? All she's doing is
posting pictures of her butt and twerking. Yeah. I'm not
a fan right through her. Yeah, but I like her
almost attention to her. It's so sad. Her no single

(12:34):
was good. I liked her. It was so great to
be on the radio right now. Well, sometimes we don't
speaking of For some reason, she reminds me of Paris Hilton.
I don't know why. She just does Paris Hilton came
out this week. If you saw it, and she said,
I'm just like um uh Kylie Jenner. She said, I'm
a self I'm self made. I made my career. I
made myself unto I am, I made my own money.

(12:57):
I made this money. You didn't know. You didn't you
started off as a fucking Hilton. Your family. No. No,
When you went to the clubs and you were getting paparazzi,
it was because you were a Hilt. Okay, but how
do you know that? Her father, Mr. Hilton didn't say
you're going to make your own money. She did the
reality show. I'm sure she banked it. Then she's an

(13:18):
incredible DJ. She makes so much, but nobody, nobody was
caring who Paris Hilton was until because she's a Hilton
and she was driving in Porsches and going to expensive restaurant.
If she was Mary Smith, she wouldn't have been able
to do that. And she's really a great DJ. Or
she playing MP three's like everybody else. I don't know.
I haven't seen her at the club that's trying. Who

(13:38):
knows if she's a good DJ? Who could tell if
anyone's a good DJ? Speaking of billions, He throws cakes.
I'm sorry, I'm just mesmerized. The airport, everything, every picture
on here. I mean I could spend the next hour
on here. I mean, she's got a beautiful but I

(14:00):
don't look at this. She's saying a lot, and Shearon
doesn't need to do that. At the New Classic, I
don't want to see what you want to see anything.
I don't know. I don't want to see it. So
you know what we're talking about. But no, but that
looks the story. It looks photoshopped that it shouldn't be
that big. We've seen her imagine being their friend. I

(14:21):
didn't say it's not real big in person. Do you
mind filming this for a minute? What are you doing?
I just got I got a tork on the on
the bathtub. I like her as a person, we've met
her a few times. I'm just I don't want to
watch her. She's always naked, she really is. And body
she's getting dressed. Oh that wasn't a bathing suit, that

(14:42):
was her underwear. All right, now we've lost. At the
New Classic, she was going to the event to hear
the music than a lot of followers. The fifteen minute
