(01:03):
would you talk about on your on your podcast phone
Elvis Presents Show. Alright, alright, pull out your phones, go
to your Instagram feed and what do you have? Like,
what's your top your top feed item right now? Mine

(01:27):
is our friend honey Germans. Why does these look at
these cats with hats? Cats with hats? I love cats
with hats. Scary let's see, oh it is I don't
even know who this person is. It's a listener. I

(01:48):
follow listeners. So what are they doing? They're just just
hanging out in a It's France hashtag friend and Bobby time.
I guess a boyfriend and a girlfriend who listen to
the standing in front of a toilet? Are they? What
do they do? They're standing um over the rocks and
then there's water in the background. Okay, there you go,
standing with water in the back, and they're just like
posing for the camera. Look, my friend Jason, this is

(02:10):
you're gonna hate his picture. He's at the dentist about
to have some some stuff done, and look you don't
have the dentist sets out the tray with all the
knives and the natals. Look there it is. What do
you have, Bethany? What's on the top of your feed?
My friend Ellie Frank, who works with the charity Mr.
Bones and Company, she posted a picture of this pit bowl.

(02:32):
Who's just like lying like a sexual being? There you go,
sexy photo. What do you have? Daniel on your Instagram?
The cats, the hats? Are you one on that one? Web?
Grol Kathleen? Um, My friend Jen who's a blogger. Her
name is Hoboken Girl blog on Instagram. Today she's drinking
a vegan latte. There it is, Gregory. What's at the

(02:53):
top of your feed? Let's see I have It's just
I have stuff about on ESPN. I have stuff on
uh US weekly. Let's see if I go, oh, Garrett,
it has posted something about du chicken palm oh. Isn't
it a beautiful photo of chicken? What do you have
on the top of your feet? Garrett? John varvado Is
just posted a picture of Nick Jonas outside just contemplating life.

(03:16):
There you go in black and white. Live contemplation in
black and white from John Varvados. What do you have
straight and name like Game of Thrones? Not official, it's
the most if you're a Game of Thrones fan, they
have a ho do or doorstop. That's so great. That's good.
This chicken palm that Garrett posted is ridiculous, isn't it beautiful?

(03:38):
Where is that? Where is it from? Oh? At three
restaurant in Rosalind, New York. Oh, I gotta have to
drive all the way to Along Island to try that
chicken parts? How do you get the cheese to burn
like that? Under the broiler? It's a broiler. That's that
the heating element on the top of your oven. Yeah,
it's on the bottom of your oven. Well, you don't
want to do the bottom. No, you need even on

(03:59):
the top. I do out you do. It's called broiler. Yeah,
but if I mine is underneath it, I put broil
on it. You can't broil the top of cheese from
the bottom of the Ovenue's physically impossible. Nath Oh No,
underneath that's an old fashioned stove. When you pull the
drawer out there and put it in there. Oh my god,
that's ninety two. It's fabulous. Now those are those are

(04:21):
fabulous broilers. I've had. I guess, Oh my god, I
want one of those. My mom used to broil like that,
so I just turn it on broil. Yeah, it's called broil.
Here's a kitten licking whip cream off a lot. Oh.
My second post is from the Fat Jewish. He said
it says, I hate when people are eating yogurt and
spend thirty minutes going apes ships scraping the container for

(04:43):
every last drop. It's fucking yogurt, not cocaine. I'm the
same way though, I have to get every last drop.
So I'm trying to get Alex on a Schnauzer Daddy.
It's you know, it's typical. It's it's what you think
it is. It's like guys with their Schnauzers that's so cute,
but in they're not putting him on there. For some reason,
someone there has a problem with Alex's Schnauzer. Look now,

(05:04):
if we get you on Daddy before Alex any type
of way, I would, I would. I can't do that
next thing. It's his thing. He wants to be on Daddy,
not mini snaws your daddy. What well, you have a
mini Schnauzer? Are they just any way you cut them?

(05:27):
I have a friend who runs a labradoodle group for
Instagram and Facebook in Charlotte, North Carolina, and she is
very exclusive about she lets into the group. Why why
are they that way? Right? You know they did a
PBS special on her. It was like so popular. It
takes all the fun out of it. But it's smart
to be exclusive because then more people want to be in.
It's the velvet rope effects. I tell you what, just

(05:49):
for Jones effects, just for this podcast alone, the fifteen
Minute Morning Show podcast. We should have a top secret
whatever what the group group? Facebook group? Yes? Because now
Facebook let's pages make exclusive groups within the page pfull
to answer questions to get in? Is gonna be? So?
Which fun set this up? How can I be a
member of this? Can I get into our my own group? Well?

(06:11):
If I invite, you've created a monster. Yeah, I'm so
excited for this. An exclusive elist and fifteen minute Morning
Show Facebook group. Okay, but what should the qualifications be? Well,
you got to know what we talk about. I know
that we got to start there. But should we have
action of Facebook groups? Maybe you can only get in
if you can answer a secret that a super fan

(06:33):
of Elliston in the Morning Show with now, Oh the secret?
The secret sound quack quick if you know, quite quick?
I know, so, I guess my point being now that
we're six minutes into this. I love this mindless time
with Instagram. That's why I'm very careful only to follow
people i'm interested in, but things that turn me on,
like chicken palm and well, do you guys use the

(06:55):
feature where you can save other people's Instagram posts? How
do you do that? Okay, So, if you're looking at
somebody's Instagram post and it is on the right lower corner,
it's like it looks like a little ribbon with a
V kind of too it. Yes, if you hit that,
you can save the person's post. But not only that.
Instagram just created a feature where you can break it
down into different categories. So, Elvis, you could have like

(07:16):
food and then fashion and travel. So I'm planning a
vacation next month, and I've been searching the hashtags for
my vacation and then saving it into a very specific
folder where when I get to my destination, I have
everything that I want to visit already. Say if there
right now, Instagram, you could I mean used to be
just pinterested that now it's kind of like a pinterest,
I know, do you make your own? So recently I've

(07:39):
been just sort I guess I'm sort of doing what
you're talking about. So recently, I've gotten kind of like
frustrated about things that are going on in my life
and whatever. So I'm trying to find out things that
kind of like relax me, kind of in a good mood, mindless. Yeah.
So what I've done is I've kind of deleted or
you know, hidden everybody that I've you know, I've been following,
and I'm all and I'm also I'm only allowing what

(08:01):
I really enjoy to surface. Cool Material is a site
that I've been going to. It kind of relaxes me.
It's a site that there's a lot of things on
there on a daily basis and it's updated every single day.
That really that I really love, that I really love.
It's interesting you bring this up, and I'm gonna follow
them right, not because you told me to. It's interesting

(08:21):
you bring this up because Bethany was talking about the
time you spend looking through your social media how it
can bend your spirit. It can bend your mind into
a negative or positive place. So what what did you,
what did you hear about? Well, So, I was just
thinking about how often I'm on Instagram and social media
in general, and I realized that I see the people
I follow on Instagram more than I see my own family,

(08:44):
and I also see them more than I see my
own friends. And especially because I'm an introvert, so I
stay in a lot, which means that I'm usually on
my phone versus being with friends. So I made a
conscious choice to start following people who would help me
feel better about things I'm insecure about. So I started
following a lot of like body positive people who post

(09:06):
on Instagram, and it literally, in a matter of two days,
changed the way I saw myself. How did you consciously
know that the change in your pattern of viewing changed you?
Because I stopped looking in the mirror and hating what
I saw. It went like from looking in the mirror
and criticizing and being like, I have to lose another

(09:27):
fifteen pounds to looking in the mirror and being like,
you know what, I want to get in better shape.
But I look like this girl I follow on Instagram,
and she's beautiful enough to be someone I follow, so
I'm probably okay too. It's pretty amazing. I actually blogged
about it on Elvis duran dot com um and I
posted some of the accounts that I follow, like there's
one account called the Body is Not an Apology, and

(09:49):
one of the pictures is somebody with acne on their
face and then they tattooed like they put up temporary tattoo.
The said acne is normal across their face because everyone
gets it, but we feel like it needs to be
airbrushed out of photos. It doesn't. It's totally normal. How
can we think that not being How how can we
actually believe that looking at social media doesn't change the

(10:10):
way we feel about life, the world, us, how we
fit into the world. It's great, you know. I know
that if I'm looking at bubbly cheese on chicken palm,
or I'm looking at great vacation photos. I love doing
like nat geo and travel. We can see parts of
the world that are just so beautifully photographed. This and
that it truly opens my sinuses in my head. It

(10:31):
makes me think more positive, more positively about anything and everything.
And I like the family pictures, like I like if
I see like a dad spending time with his kid
and they're at the park and he posts the picture.
I'm like, oh, that's so cute. I love it. It
gives me this warm feeling. And is there like dads
with kids and parks? I don't know. Well, New York
City has the New York City Dad's groups. You can
always follow them. They're pretty cool. It's just dads and

(10:53):
their kids and that's all it is. Oh my god,
I got a really good group. They've invited me to
so many events. I've seen him out a couple of times.
I'm always thanking the all time. So it's like I
think it's a New York City Dads and it's really good.
But every state is starting to get him, like I've
seen one for like Michigan Dads. I've seen a groups
like that, really good stuff, so like water parks and
do you guys splinter off into any exact like such

(11:14):
such insanely narrow pages, like it's like like nuts and bolts.
I don't know. Something tells me web girl Kathleen has
some crazy ones. I do. I love. I love Instagram
mainly for fashion, but I'm really into nerdy girl fashion lately,
and I follow this account. I check her every day

(11:34):
to see what she's wearing, and I often buy what
she's wearing. Her her name is Rights Like a Girl
w R I t e s like a Girl and
she just has the coolest style and she lives in Austin, Texas,
and I just love everything she wears. So I kind
of like that quirky, nerdy girl fashion. I love Instagram
for that kind of inspiration. I'll throw you another one.
There's one another one I've follen called huck Berry h

(11:57):
u c K b r r Y. So I really
enjoy on that side as well. You guys enjoy that.
And there's you can actually shop on that side as well.
There's some great photos and you can actually do some shopping.
That's awesome. Do you follow supper? A super deluxe? Super
Deluxe is kind of fantastic. It's I mean, it's out there.
I mean some of the stuff is sort of disturbing,

(12:17):
but like in a that's crazy. Right now, they're doing
a guy it's it's called a small dick thing. Speaking
of dicks, Hot guys eating schnitzel, Hot guys eating How
can I not have that? If you type in ht
guys eating, you'll see all the types of food that

(12:38):
guys eat. What about just regular guys eating that are
not hot to start exactly. Guys that will that will
make you laugh your butt off is Gary Jeannette and
all he posts are pictures of Prince George looking scorning
lee at other people. The captions are like, there's a

(12:59):
phote of Prince George and the Queen and it says,
won't you die already? Oh my god, I am. I
feel like I need to up my game in Instagram.
I feel like I'm not following these all these awesome accounts.
That's that's the great thing about Instagram. You can really
just travel down roads that you typically don't travel down,
and it's it's great. It's great. I think it's time

(13:22):
well spent. Look just discovering new things. It's stupid and
quirky as they may sound. And the thing that I
needed to be reminded of is like I love to
follow home, decore, lifestyle and beauty, but it's not all
about that. And that was sort of skewing my vision
of myself because I was only comparing myself to make
up tutorials where the person has perfect skin. So you

(13:44):
have to remember that there's comedy accounts, there's you know,
food accounts. Of course, there's also just photoshopping accounts and
accounts of cute animals, and it doesn't all have to
be how you look or based on how you look like.
It's my get away from ourself, Starry killing gun. Do
you know what I wish Stagram would do that Twitter?
Does you know how Twitter breaks down lists so you
could make like a Twitter list of your friends, so

(14:05):
if you only wanted to see a feed with just
the things that your friends were posting. Um. I don't
know if you guys use that, but it's a feature
that I use on Twitter. I wish Instagram would do
that so I could just hit my friend listen and
see exactly what my friends are posting on Instagram. Do
us a favor, hashtag something so we can see what
people are looking at. We're coming. Let's see uh hashtag
Elvis duran insta Okay, people can tag to show us

(14:28):
what they're looking at on Instagram today. Do that hashtag
Elvis Duran and stuff. I want to see what you're
looking at, because you know there's gonna be some crazy
stuff out there, like chocolate chips. I want to see
nothing but pictures of chips of chocolate. You can splin
that much straight. Ag are were keeping you up today
a little bit. I took a music X and so
I'm out a little bit. Elvis does okay on Musin X.

(14:51):
I take Musin next and I'm jittery and I feel
like I'm in a different dimension. Oh no, I I
get I get shipped done X. That should be They
should be their new slogan, get Shipped done music. I
feel like my body is like three ft behind me.
That makes sense. I always feel like I'm looking over
myself and I'm like, I'm like looking over myself down there.
I am sitting, but I'm hovering like that weird that

(15:12):
Musa X booger is in charge of all of this.
I'm like that hologram that like inhabits another body and
he hasn't walked into that body yet. I'm under the
spell of the Musa next Booger man. By the way
it's going around. I just talked to David Brody. He
said his throat is killing him. His head is pounding. Yeah,
head starting to pound. Don't psych yourself out. Your head's fine,

(15:34):
You're doing great, feel awesome. But the way can I
give you one final Instagram account to follow. I don't
know how much time we have follow Raws The Diva,
r o Z the Diva. She is an incredible woman
who teaches pole dancing here in the city and she
disarms people by singing along to the songs that she's
dancing to on the phole. I got it right here

(15:54):
is wonderful minute Morning Joe.
