Speaker 1 (00:02):
For what would you talk about on your on your podcast?
Firms Represents Minute Morning Show? Isn't four hours enough? Serious?
Give you four hours every day in addition to all
the podcasts we do. But here's fifteen more minutes. How

(00:22):
we do? We just want to be in your life NonStop.
We want you to be with us and us be
with you around the clock. Don't get sick of us.
We've got a full house on the fifteen Minute Morning
Show podcast today. We'll start this way. Nate is here straight, Nate?
There are you leaving for a meeting? Now? Are you
here for the whole thing? Maybe? Right? Remember what? That's
what's so good about having everyone here. You can just
come and go as you want. Danielle is here. There's Garrett,

(00:45):
who I went to a great party last night. We
gotta talk about that. Uh, there's Dave Brody hello. And
there's Scary who has an empty look on his face?
What's going on? And there nothing empty? Because my stomach
is empty because I'm freaking dieting, okays angry. And then
there's Bettany who's sitting next to Scary, who's freaking bo
I was gonna offer you a protein bar, but you

(01:06):
can't have it. I can't have it. Thank you. It's
gonna offer you chicken palm, but they can't have it.
At least you know that juice that Alex is on.
He's but he's doing great and he has a lot
of energy, but he's not listening right now. So can
we talk about juice for just a minute? Are they
really all that effective? And if they are effective anything,
what is it. I've heard that they're not, but it's

(01:29):
I guess it comes down to who you are, like
how you are built. Chemically. They make me sick and
they I get physically ill if I do a juice
clean perfect some people, but some people they feel really
invigorated and like clear headed afterwards. So I think it
really does come down. I feel like chemical makeup. They
reward you with that cash you milk at the end
of the day. Remember before you go to bed tomorrow

(01:53):
you could try again because the cash you milk is
right there at the end of the day, like a
danglink to shake. It's like a cash you shake like
a good juice because there are juice, it's meat juice.
You can you can start that. It's a new trend
because you know bone broth is such a huge thing
right now. Some people do bone broth for two or
three days. So what were you saying. I like a

(02:15):
juice cleanse because I feel like it kind of kick
starts me into eating healthy. So yeah, I don't use
it to lose weight. I use it to get me
back on track and kind of like clean myself out
a little bit. And then and the second day of
the juice cleans that I do, I always feel clearer
and energy and it's amazing. And that second day I
never feel that way again. That's like the biggest thing

(02:37):
for me. That day is amazing. And you said something
very very key there. You really shouldn't depend on a
juice cleans to lose weight getting it right back. And
there's more to a juice cleans than you know, the
nutrients you're getting and pissing out you're You're also talking
about discipline. So let's say you go on vacation or

(03:00):
you you have a crazy binder. All weekend long, you're
drinking and eating cheese and fried everything. You know what,
if you can find those two or three days where
you can have the discipline to do nothing but the juice,
it really could put you on a path to you know,
take care of yourself. So there could be something to
be said for that. I've done seven day cleanses where

(03:21):
after the seventh day you feel like you could take
on the world because you just did seven days of
doing a specific regiment of drinking juices or soups and
nothing else. And you're like, I could do this again.
But yet you want to have a slice of pizza first,
But it feels like you could do anything outside of
just juices. So there's the mental aspect yet, And another
thing about juice cleanse is uh, it gives you that

(03:45):
crazy euphoric feeling when you start to feel lightheaded, which
I think is the same feeling you get right before
you die. It really is. It's that last minute rush
they say you get right before you expire. So it
makes you want to eat something when you're not supposed
to work out on a juice clans either. Because of that,
probably perfect for you, Elvis, You're raising the h the

(04:09):
point of discipline. I'm just thinking about this now. I'm
probably a complete failure because I do a rigid disciplined
program for forty three days, and that's supposed to teach
me discipline. And what happens after that? I go off
the rails so every and I started getting next January.
So I'm now I'm thinking like I don't have any
discipline whatsoever. I feel like it's ineffective continges for nine

(04:30):
months after. But so you do this once a year, right,
every year? I do my dr fellows. Well, I have
a friend Steven, who works over at Walkers every year
after the holidays between January fifteen and February fift No sugar,
no flower, no booze, And he's the biggest flower sugar
eaten alcoholic I've ever met in my life. And he
turns into a total asshole. But he's our dear friend

(04:52):
and we support him. But you know what, He's been
doing it every year for forty years. But do you
question what the purpose of that is if the rest
of a year he's polluting his body with booze and
and the things that he feels like are not healthy.
I wonder if if there's anyone who knows if it
really does anything for you as far as benefits. Yeah,
I mean, look, so I'm on the website eat this

(05:12):
not that, and uh it says that many scientists, dieticians
and doctors regard detox diets as less effective than fasting
with just water and therefore a waste of money. They say,
if you are going to do with juice cleanse, don't
just drink any old juice you want to do like
ones that are official and they have things in them,
but they have a list of twenty seven things that
you can expect your body is gonna do. Uh, So

(05:35):
your metabolism is going to slow down. You're going to
discover what's wrong with you. So you're going to kind
of see what foods are going to cause problems for
your body once you start reintroducing those foods. So that's
a good thing. You'll figure out, Like I'm allergic to dairy.
You're gonna be more sensitive to cold temperatures. You're gonna
be tired, of course, caffeine withdrawals, which is what I
would go through. Of course, you're gonna drop water weight.

(05:57):
You're gonna feel lightheaded, your skin can dry out and
age more quickly, so moisturize. Yeah. Yeah, but they say
that your appetite calms down, your hair and nails will
stop growing. You're gonna have some short term weight loss,
but that's just water weight. But then you're suddenly going
to have these random bursts of energy because you're doing

(06:20):
like the juice is quick absorbing carbohydrates, so you're like
ready to go, and then you're exhausted. You may feel
a little depressed. They say you could damage your teeth.
Your vitamins aren't getting delivered the way they should. Your
gastro intestinal tract begins to shut down, your breath starts
to stink, You lose muscle mass, like it sounds like

(06:42):
you're slowly dying. This is to see. This has to
be if you're on it for a long time, because
I don't think a three to five. It sounds like
it's positive and negative. It says you can heal your cells,
but you'll also get angry. You could damage your liver.
Your brain is deprived. What does it say if I
drink maple syrup out of the jug? That's called dinner?

(07:05):
What's that website again? It's eat this dot com. The
website is eat this, not that is what it's called,
but eat this dot com. What I'm doing is not
a juice cleanse. This. I have the opposite effect of
all that stuff that you're listening because you're eating food
there's just very specific foods that you're eating. Yeah, I'm
just so you're gonna have good breath. The strict diet,
that's what you're saying. It's interest, it's so interesting. It's

(07:30):
so crazy what your body does and needs to survive.
You don't think about like oh my nails will stop growing.
And I think what Danielle said that does sound like
long term damage effects. If you do a three day clans,
but about seven day cleans, I could see how you
can start to die. You're dying, yes, speaking of dying, Yes, Nate, Yeah,
did you hear about that diet? The breath aians? You

(07:52):
guys do? We talked about what do you think? At
one point this woman in Australia, I think she said
she totally lived off of breathing and sunlight. That was it.
That was her diet. She said, I don't need to eat,
I don't need to drink. I'm a breathe areian. So
they had this documentary which followed her and after three
days she took coma. I think because he attend to coma.

(08:13):
I don't get how the like the woman who's a
hundred and night and they go, how do you do it, well,
I drink Scotch every day. When you drink scotch every day,
to there's more to it than just scott. Course, you know,
we're all different. We have different cell makeup and our
jeans are different, you know, so some people are. That's
why if you sit there and tell well this, tell
your friends, well, this works for me, it'll work for you, guarantee. Well, no,
just because it works you doesn't mean it's gonna work

(08:34):
for every Wise. Yes, some people are from sturdy stock
and they can probably do whatever they want and they'll
live forever. And the one that just turned nineties something
from Yeah, my grandmother. And I don't say this to
be cruel. My grandmother has wanted to die since she
was in her forties. She's just like she's a pessimist.
She just thinks the worst is always going to happen

(08:54):
to her. She's just waiting to die every day. She
just turned nineties something she mad she I mean, she
kind of is. She's just like bored and ready to
go to bed. Around there are people who, you know,
just no matter how healthy they are, they get really thick.
I never got that. Do you have any friends who
always say God, I just don't see myself living past

(09:14):
the age of forty. Alright, you know I'm there forty two.
I just don't know how I lived past forty. I
just couldn't see it. And I just I don't understand
that way of thinking. But a lot of people do
feel that way. They feel like there is an expiration
date on their cart. And I'm just watching a documentary
on Chris Farley, and he said it. He said, I'm
not gonna I'm gonna be like John Belushi, the guy

(09:35):
before me that I emulate, I'm gonna die at thirty two,
and he did. That's because he did you see his life,
He knew what lifestyle he was leading. But it's almost
like he just planned it. He's like, I'm just gonna
just do everything in excess, and did I go ahead? No? No, no,
go ahead. I find it funny when people say, oh,
don't tell me smoking is bad. My grandfather lived at
ninety seven and he smoked every day. Well, maybe he

(09:56):
would lived a hundred and fifteen if he didn't smoke.
You know that doesn't justify smoking. Well, you'll lift the
ninety seven if you smoke, right, so you know you're
going back to what you were saying that if you're
from sturdy stock. My boyfriend Alex is. I mean, he's
just the kind of guy who can just lift his
arm up and put it down and a muscle will grow.
I mean he can just walk out to get the

(10:16):
mail out of the mailbox and come back in and
he's tanned. I mean he's just sturdy big. He works
out every day through physical labor, this and that. So
he's on this jewice clans. It's not going to affect him.
If he needs to lose weight, he can lose it
like that. Me no, it takes me a long time
to get the metabolism up to lose the weight. And
it's a whole different world. A juice cleans would do
more harm than good for me. It would just piss

(10:38):
me off. It would make me obsess over carbs. I
don't want to. I don't need that, not to get
to like woo. But have you heard of Docia's Yeah, okay,
so so if you haven't heard of them before, Um,
it's how's the best way to describe it. It's like
a concept in Eastern medicine, like ir Vedic medicine, that
there are three kind of different types of bodies or

(10:59):
like bio elements, and you want to be in balance
with all three, and you kind of can tell what
you are based on some characteristics. And Elvis, I think
you and I are very similar in the way that
we are because we both we both um have a
hard time like getting in shape easily, we both have
like tempers, we both have skin issues, like, we have

(11:19):
very similar things, and so how do we balance out
to our other two So so in this theory of
viravating medicines about like the food that you eat, Like
I'm not supposed to drink hot beverages because I'm hot
all the time, and so it's cold beverages for me.
It's blah blah blah. Versus my mom is different and
she's supposed to drink hot stuff and stuff that's like
predigested like oatmeal and soups are really good for her.

(11:41):
Soups aren't supposed to be good for us. So it's
really interesting to kind of read into something that sees
us all as different and takes that into account in
the way that we eat. So I guess you can
simply go online and do a do a multiple choice testing.
It tells you what you need less of what you
need more. Yeah, what's that website? It's schoogl the word
dosha d o s h a and you'll kind of

(12:03):
get all of those not doing links different different, That's
what happens to you have do you have the green juice?
It's still cleanse very much so alright, water cleanse. There
we go. We're going down that road. It's a different one.
We all go on a cleanse and just like morning

(12:26):
by mornings, should we all go on a clanch at
the same time. We tried the blueprint the Blueprint cleanse,
remember that I was here that that was. We got
nasty with each other after like the first day. Yeah,
that's just what we need. Great for ratings for I tried.
I tried doing a raw food diet, just raw you juice,

(12:46):
your own supposed to be good for you through the
bags and what the hell is understruck? Yeah, so I
tried that. I last about three hours. It was the
worst experience of because you start just craving prepared food.
You know, when you do this juice, whatever you do
a raw food cleanse, nothing ann even close to being prepared.

(13:09):
It's all the stuff you make yourself. It's awful in
my mind, the mindset you need to be in to
be in a cleanse. You know, my problem is I
obsess over food, and in that same time, every afternoon,
I have that need for something made out of a
bread product. And you know, it's finding ways to trick
the mind into moving forward is my challenge. And I
think that's in any binge eaters challenge, which is my weakness.

(13:32):
So a cleanse, no, I just wish I could get
through the day without having to have carbs to calm
me down. You know, Um, a cleanse would be quite
a feat for me. It would make you focus more
on food. I think I'd obsess over it. Yeah. I
see a nutritionist and she had to say to me,
you can eat whenever you want and there's no such

(13:53):
thing as bad food. And as soon as she said that,
I was like, oh, then I stopped obsessing that, Like
what if I never have cake again? Because cake is
my jam and it's stopped being such an issue because
it wasn't forbidden anymore. And then weird how we think,
and even though we consciously know, we consciously know that
when we're obsessing over it, we do it anyway. Yeah, oh, totally.

(14:15):
I think food is a huge thing in our country,
like we are just we it's it's a cultural thing,
it's a it's a history thing. It's a happier when
I eat too, I think it. Yeah, And it's a
way of socializing for me. That's I communicate through food.
Do you make noise when you eat? Scary wants to

(14:37):
go to the park. If I didn't have food or
drinks or liquor, I wouldn't have anywhere to go. I
would I would have no social life whatsoever. Because in communication,
I agree with you and I don't think we should
punish ourselves because that we we we associate food, drink
with fun. At the same time, it's got to be
just kidding minute morning show
