Speaker 1 (00:02):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
represents show? Elvis just walk into the room just in
time to start the podcast. This is the worst podcast ever.
It just started. It can't be that bad, all right,
(00:23):
So what are you guys talking about? I have one?
What is it okay to like your own posts on
Insta and Twitter? I think so? This was said in
by a listener They texted it into us. I accidentally
like it all the time, like when you know when
you're scrolling, you know when you're scrolling and then you
(00:44):
accidentally hit Like I'm trying to like figure something out
on my post or edit it or something that I
always hit the heart. It always happens. I think it's
okay from time to time, but there are some people
in this room that do it more often than none.
By the scary Yes Scary Jones and he he I
think he likes to see the numbers grow so by
adding plus one and makes him look better. I don't
(01:05):
always like my own post. If you if you like
your post, doesn't it move it up or something in
the feed? See? I figured if if it's not getting
enough traction on its own, I'm like, I gotta help
this thing along, so I hit the like button and
then I see other people starting to like it more
because I've now created a notification in other people's feeds.
(01:26):
It said Scary Jones likes a picture, So like, what
picture is that? I think I'm gonna like it too.
Now do you have a secondary Instagram account that you
switch over to, then like your picture and then switch back. Yeah,
it's called the Elvis Durrantio account. Wow, you like your
own pictures with the Elvis durant Show Instagram account. I
should start going to Max's Insta and let him like.
(01:47):
I should go to Minerva pers In staff. Yeah, likes it.
He likes everything I do. Well, so do you really Okay,
do we do? We really put post up because we're
trying to see how popular they can be. Because the
answer if you if you say not, not a lot
of people like your post, so you take them down,
(02:07):
then the answer is yes, you're you're simply a post
hor Well, I've never I've never taken the post down.
But true, I've never unless I was told to take
it down. I took one down this week. Would you
take down? Well? I gave into a listener being mean
to me, and I took down a post, and I'm
kind of not proud of mine. I'm very disappointed to
myself for doing it because I posted a picture of
(02:28):
myself at our I Heart festival and the lighting was
weird on my leg, and so somebody made some rude
comment about my leg, and instead of just being like
fuck this, who cares? I gave in and I took
it down and fixed the picture and put a new
one up. When I really should have done was just
posted a one not cared. But if I really wanted
to get back at them, just posted a picture that
I sent bethany of my legs and said, shove this
(02:49):
up your ass. But I didn't. And also you should
have given me their user names so that I could
have had three minutes with them. The good thing is
that usually the listeners right away come to back for us,
and so I knew that would happen. The listeners would
be like, shut up, stop being stupid saying mean things.
But it's all it takes is one person to like
mess your day up and ruin your day. And if
(03:10):
you don't have anything nice to say, then don't comment
on the post. Just shut your mouth. The same thing
happened I got very affected by a listener, which again
I should not have. But someone was that that fucking
coat that I love so much, and when I was
people give me no end of crop for it. And
I was wearing it in a picture and somebody said,
(03:32):
I agree with Elvis, it looks like ship, but you
do you? I never said that look like shit. That's
what they said, and so I was like, why did
you say that? Who said that? I like it too?
But so then they were doubly mean because they put
words in your mouth which aren't true. So pick up, yeah, bitch,
(03:52):
don't don't do the like you do you the sorry nuts, like,
don't hide behind yeah, but whatever you did you that.
I called someone out for insulting me. They gave me
a ship sandwich I got. I read it to you
guys in the room. They said something really nice about me.
They insulted me, then said something really nice about me.
So I tweeted them back. I said, you know that
really wasn't very nice, and they wrote back, you'll sleep okay, ton.
(04:14):
I don't worry about it, like I it's not gonna
ruin my day. But it did. Because now it's a
week and a half later, and I'm still bothered by
I don't. I don't think it's nice to compliment and
an insult and the compliment just go. Well, the compliments finks,
insults finks I complimented them. Here's what I love. This
is my personal rule for social for social media, and
we all have our own rules. I never ever put
(04:37):
negative things up on social media. I never get political.
I never tell anyone that they're stupid. I never say
your side is wrong. I put pictures of cake, pasta, dishes, whatever,
Max blowing out his chicken. Parm Know. Sometimes I'll, you know,
I'll say something, hey, you know, these people need our help.
I feel all for these people to help them out.
(04:59):
But I never ever want social media in my world anyway,
to be negative. I don't just don't want it. Yeah,
but if you put up these people need help, what
happens every time you say something nice on the air, Well,
what about those other people? Come? You don't think about
those people? Don't know, but that's their problem. But I
think what you're saying is like you're trying to cultivate
a culture of like positivity within your own Instagram feed, yes,
(05:20):
or social whatever, social media. And so when somebody just
lashes out. It's even more evident because it's like, that's
not what this is about. If you come into like
your world, it's about positivity. It's not about being being
mean to people. Look, we know people that go online
and they use social media as their platform to just
crap on people, just ship all over. They hang there,
(05:44):
they hang their ship on everyone. In my opinion, I've
never done it. I have never done that. In fact,
I love one of the things I love is when
somebody says something negative about me or one of us
on our Instagram or Twitter. I love the listener. That's
the good Samaritan says, Hey, you don't ever right to
say that. You think that back, you don't know that person,
you don't know that person. Well, you know, I love that.
(06:06):
But using social media to like just pound the crap
out of people, it's just well, I think he speaks
volumes about about that person, about what they're going through
in their life. But no, we'll keep in mind that.
You know, we all have opinions. We all have opinions
about politics, we all have these opinions. We all have
opinions about people who do bad things. They should be
they should be shamed or whatever, but we don't. Some
(06:27):
people don't use social media for that. I don't, but
some people do. Fine, Okay, great, but it's just I
don't like it. I think more and more people want
to feel good when they go online. Like I look
at um Uh, the guy who wrote Hamilton's the guy
(06:48):
who wrote Hamilton. If you look at his Twitter feed,
it is nothing but positivity. It is lovely. It is
like congratulating other people. It is talking to you and
calling you amazing and view to lift me up, but
lifts you up. And he has so many retweets every
single time because that's how people want to feel. But
how do you keep that positive feeling going every single
(07:10):
day or just don't post negative day? I wish you
like I've been thinking about it recently. As you do
that you love to go on great tea and say
negative ships sometimes. Well, I noticed that there are people
that have a great personality where they can like let
things roll off their back and it's no big deal.
And I don't know how they do it, and I
try to think about it, but sometimes things just weigh
(07:30):
you down and it's on you constantly. Hey, Greg, we
were at all I'm not saying that we that we
don't get into bad moods or get piste off at
something and we want to say something to people, we
just don't use our social media for that. I mean, so,
I I feel like sometimes that someone's using me as
a whipping boy because they're in a bad mood. They're
gonna like just like like take a a p in
(07:53):
my Coco pops. No, you know what, if you're in
a bad mood, go deal with it. Don't sit here
and slap me around with your your post. Yeah. Just
I tried. If I'm in a terrible mood, I just
try to stay off of social media because I know
that I'm going to see something that's gonna make it
even worse and I'm gonna lash out. But Gregory, if
you're in a bad mood and you start going off
on social media, which you have, it's like it's it's
(08:15):
it's very negative pollution. Yeah, I gotta tell you, like, like,
for instance, like tonight is the start of This is Us,
you know, like I actually crave it. I can't wait
for because I just think like that's gonna be an
hour of just such innocent you know, storylines and so
good and warmth, like I'm craving that tonight. I can't
(08:36):
wait to sit there and watch that because I need that.
Sometimes there's so many things is way you down. I
just can't take it anymore, you know, I want to
go I think everybody feels that way, that everybody wants
to go wrong. But if you go wrong and you
affect other people, it makes them want to go wrong.
By the way, I find that I have one. I
run out of things to post because I don't have
They don't post. I don't have kids or pets, and
(08:58):
I feel like that's like a major part of people's lives.
And I'm like sitting there, like you want a kid
and you want a pet, just to post about it.
I have, Yes, that's the only reason he wants a
kid or a pet. I have three kids and two dogs,
and in the past five years I've posted about my
dog once, my kids never. So I don't know what.
Maybe you're just boring in fairness, I said, maybe he's boring. Hey,
(09:27):
but here's a thought. If you don't have something to post,
then don't post. There's no here. If I go three
or four days without a post, I feel compelled to stand.
Makes you feel like you're irrelevant if you don't have
something to post at all times. What's up Garrett? He
talked about his summer was wasted. Scary felt like because
he was scrolling through his feet and realized he didn't
(09:49):
post any a ton of stuff during the summer. I
didn't intend to why he went on a three different
location vacation of bender vacation just to w on a
posting bender, a posting bender, just to fill that void
of the summer. Because he said he was at home
scrolling on his while he was sleeping after he woke
up from from a nap. He was scrolling through his feed,
(10:10):
saw nothing and said, I need to do something about this. Scary,
I haven't posted on um chat with chat what the
hell is it called? Thank you? In five days? You know?
Scary was thinking about we have a green Spain room downstairs. Scary.
At one point, Scary was trying to get people and
let him in the green Spain room so he could
take pictures with like Hawaii scene to be behind him,
(10:30):
like like it looks like over the world. He's like,
we do we have the leaning Tower of Pizza. But
I do find it interesting that we do live in
this culture now with social media, that where if you're
if you aren't posting, then you're not there. You're you're
you're absent. You know. I noticed that, and I think
that's silly. People get in touch with me more. The
(10:53):
more active I am posting, because you're you're it's top
of mind. It's weird, and I'm not that I'm pining
for that. Like my phone will go dead for like
five six days and like nobody's texting me, nobody's calling me.
I'm like that because I haven't posted on I pray
for those days to happen. I'll be singing in my
house out here being I'm like, fuck, what who is it? Yeah,
(11:16):
I don't want to hear from people, usually binging when
I have bread crumbs on my fingers. My text always
goes off. If I'm running late and getting ready, no,
people will go all day without trying to reach out.
But if I'm oh my god, I have to be
in the car in five minutes, I'm I'm bursking my
hair burstha, And of course I'm like what dollars? Like,
(11:38):
what's wrong, daddy? That's what Yesterday was such a gift
when I kept my phone turned off all day long,
talk about it was the best. It was the best
because I just kept it turned off till Scary couldn't
handle that. So great. I think you need to let
your phone die one day, just die. Just give me
your phone. I'll give about you tomorrow. Let's see how
can do stop it now? Danielle has THEE tomorrow. If
(12:06):
you keep yourself busy, if you keep yourself really busy,
You're not gonna really notice that you're not on social
media because you just you have so many things to do,
Like for instance, today, like I know, I got I
have to get home to greet my allergy shot. Then
I have to go to to go buy a faucet.
I have to replace the faucet in my kitchen because
I'm not having a leak right now. Then I have
to scrape I just put some lights into the ceiling,
so have to scrape all of the sheet rock down,
(12:28):
and then I have an appearance later on. So like,
I was so busy that I have no time to post,
and I'm not going to miss out on it. I
kind of want to see the sheet rock show that
I kind of want to follow Scary on Twitter. Now, Offense,
what are you trying to offense. But that's okay. I'm
not afraid to tell you. But I have a question.
(12:54):
So today's my second day of having having a tunafish sandwich.
Is there any truth? I don't they say you can't
have so much tuna fish like it's like so many
days in a row. It's like the mercury levels and
the over extended period of time. I think you're okay
to day, so we're good two days about tomato. Garrett
(13:16):
check his mercury level. But how do you know if
you've had too much? You know you have to go
get a blood test to fund out. And some people
never get elevated mercury levels because of their makeup. You know,
unless your mercury levels are retrograde, then you have a problem.
Because I love tuna fish. I mean I would have
tuna fish. Are you? Are you a chunk white or
a chunk white guy? It's a chunk white like telapia
(13:38):
like albacore tuna and water but alo oil or water
not no water, no water. Walking out of a podcast,
But I love it with tomato and a pasted white bed.
I make great tuna fish. Thanks to Scottie you who
(14:00):
brings the cereal in every day. I just had Cocoa
crispies mixed with the Reese's Peanut butter Puffs cereal, so
like having it was like having a peanut butter cup cereal.
Oh my gosh, it was so cereals that the Reese's
cereal is peanut butter cups. Then I added, yeah, but
(14:22):
there wasn't do you can't taste the chocolate. It's just
peanut butter. So you add the coco crispies. Oh yeah, girl.
But I want to congratulate you, Danielle. You've gone how
much time we have left? What fourteen and a half minutes?
You haven't mentioned Aaron Judge hitting fifty home runs. Yeah, well,
if you didn't have to be, you just didn't you.
