(01:05):
your podcast? Fern Elvis represents show well. As you hear this,
we're out of here. We're on a plane flying somewhere.
I'm going to Wisconsin. Where are you going, Brody? Not Wisconsin?
Where are you going to? Great Tea, Long Island? All right?
(01:26):
Where are you going? Danielle? I'm sorry, I'm going. I'm
actually staying here. My mother in law is coming from France.
All right, so francis coming to you. Garrett? Where are
you going Florida? What about you? Straight name Granada for Granada?
I don't know how anything. I think it's Granada. Isn't
it going that Montana? I'm going to Africa? Okay? So cool?
(01:48):
What else you want to talk about? Did you ask
us where we're going so you could just say whatever?
Everyone wants? Everyone wants to know where we're going shopping?
I know that. I'm I'm a little nervous about it
because when we leave the show, uh, it's all, you know,
the best of programming. It's you know, some of our
(02:08):
favorite moments from the months. You know, we just completed yeah,
I don't know. I miss being I miss being here,
I miss being on top of the news and feeling
the pulse of people live is you have no connection
to the outside world at certain points during your trip
because you're you're going to uh photo journalists gorillas and
they don't hunt gorillas, Daniell's monkeys. No, it's monkeys. First
(02:36):
of all. Hunting is where you like kill them. But
I don't mean that you're going to kill They're not monkeys,
they're gorillas them. No, you're not chasing grillas. I tell you,
you know, you you merge with them in their habitat
and you just let them be them, and if they
come up to you, you just have to look down
(02:57):
and just not react, don't look them in the I
the same way with Greg T. It's the same way
with Greg T, little egotistical gorilla. So you can't you
can't go up to him. Go this is what evolution
looks like. Bitch. No, no, no, you're supposed to just
back off. But you know what, Alex bought these go
pro cameras to put on our wrists so we can
capture the footage of me having my neck killed killed,
(03:22):
my neck split in half gorilla that vide. I'll be
up at Elvis Dan dot com. Is that why you
asked me? If anything happens, can you come into work?
He's going to I don't know of nowhere that are
you go leaving town? And I said, well, I'll be
in towntil this date, but then I'm going to go away.
He goes, well, in case anything happens in the world.
(03:43):
But I think he meant it's something. Why did you
ask me a whole? But if you at your point,
if you kidnapped by a gorilla, I think you may
make the news and people will want to know what's
going on. So we have to come back and report
on your kidnapping. But donkey on a plan. I've already
written a parody to Arms of an Angel. Very uncomfortable
(04:06):
with this conversation. When you're when you're the head of
a show like this, there's a lot of you know,
you are in charge of a lot of people, a
lot of paychecks are tied to the show. We need
to make sure that everything is cool if you die.
If that's the case, you should be worried every day,
Like yesterday, walking home from the bar, I don't even
know how I got home. We were holding our breath.
You should have had someone ready to come in today. No,
(04:26):
I mean we're we're all we're all at risk of
course of you know, not coming in. Yeah, but your
name is on the step and repeat. I want to
know how you got to this vacation because normally when
you're like, hey, where do you want to go on vacation,
you go I want to go either here or there?
So where was that other place you were deciding? This
was a Christmas gift for Alex. He wanted to go
(04:47):
see the gorillas. And he and I have this thing.
You know, ever since I started dating a guy who
works in a zoo, a zookeeper, I've become interested in zoos.
We've been to Singapore Zoo, London, Paris, We've gone around
to zoos in here in a America. We've been to
zoos and other cities and countries and it's interesting. We've
been to quality and poor to hang out with elephants,
you know. So he wanted to go to trek guerrillas
(05:10):
in East Africa and this is our second safari. We
went to South Africa last time. This is so cool
because it's a gift, the one thing about seeing primates
is like you see them in pictures and it's one thing,
but to watch them just doing their thing for a
long period of time, you realize how human they really see,
like the little the little things they do, like scratching
(05:32):
their head or like picking their teeth or what playing.
You know, that's when they seem so so close to us.
I get the same satisfaction just watching Greg Tea. He's
my primate. How hot is it going to be there?
It's warm, it's very humid. Yeah, you have to dress
appropriately because there's bugs and stuff. There's bugs, there's aunts. Yeah,
there's all sorts of stuff. What air conditioning, Uh no,
(05:56):
probably not know. Some of the resorts have, some of
the hotels have him. But I tell you the thing
that I'm most excited about is Tanzania. We're going on.
We're going on the to witness the wild to beast migration.
Every year, the wilde beasts, the wilds of beast rather,
I mean hundreds of thousands of the millions of them.
They all move across East Africa and this old old
(06:20):
camp it's been around forever. Every year they have to
move it because it has to go where to where
the migration of the wild beast occurs. So we followed
them and we go set up camp and watch them.
And they say, watching these incredible creatures all running together
at the same time across the plains, over rivers and
through verbs and things, they say, it's just incredible. I'm
really looking forward to it. It's like one then the
(06:42):
Lion King, when they were all they all, well, they killed,
they killed, but but you know before that, they're watching
them running the movie. That's very cool. That's a stampede going,
so you know. Plus, we're gonna go to the Unga
Ungora Crater, which is an amazing place to go look
at animals as well. Enough about me, let's talk about
pop vicariously through you. I will never see these places.
(07:02):
Where are you going in Florida? Close? Like Commas Animal
Kingdom in Disney World. This is like nothing compared to
But I got a beach house Airbnb in near Jacksonville.
I got a few friends and families stopping by throughout
the weekend, staying fourth of July there. And let's talk
about Wisconsin, Bethany, what are you doing in Wisconsin? Um?
You know, the really cool thing is that ever since
(07:22):
my sister had her first daughter. Every year we take
a women picture, so it's my mom, my two sisters,
me and my two nieces and um. We do it
every year, and we used to do it on Mother's Day,
but once I moved away, I don't get home for
Mother's Day. So now we've moved to the fourth of July.
So the main reason I'm going home is to take
this annual picture with all of the women in my family.
(07:44):
I think it's wonderful, it's really cool. And the first
year we did it, you know, Eliza was an infant
and so my sister was holding her, and to this day,
my sister still holds her in every picture. Even though
now she's like lanky and in elementary school and she's
growing up. My she still holds her. So it's just
a really it's a fun picture, and it'll be good
(08:05):
to see my parents and all of that stuff. Two
weeks of it, two weeks of it. So I'm going
home for a week. I'm kind of struggling, so you'll
be in the city for a week, So you'll be
here for a week. Brodie's gonna be here for a
week and great team. Basically a long, long Island. So
you're here for a week, and Danielle, you're here for
the whole, for the whole vacation. I'm here for a week,
and then we're going away for like five or six. Well,
the thing is you're staying close to home. See I
(08:27):
cannot tell you the last time I was home during
a vacation, and I'm kind of wishing I could do that.
You know, stay cations are great because I don't even
know what New York City is like on vacation. I
have no clue. What's it like. Is it nice? What
did July? I feel like it gets quiet around the
city a little bit, not like a lot of people
go away. There's not a lot of traffic. I mean
(08:48):
for the fireworks. People being in your own house for vacations. Well,
there was that one vacation where I did not leave
my house and it was incredible because you you just
explore everything around you. I would him to do that.
It's really really great, even like the little restaurants around
you that you never go to, you just walk by.
Or we have so many museums here and everybody has
(09:09):
museums in their town, or libraries you never go to,
or art galleries you never go to. It's kind of weird.
In my living room, that's the side of the apartment
that faces the sunrise. I don't think I've ever seen
a sunrise in my apartment really, because if if it's
a weekend, I'm either sleeping through it or I'm out
of town. So it's like, WHOA. I think I kind
of enjoy that. You do feel like a tourist though,
(09:30):
when we're on vacation and you stay stay around because
you get to experience things you normally don't get to
experience or see things for the first time that normally
when you're when you're working, you don't get to see it,
like traffic. I don't want to sit in traffic, and
we never we experience morning drive traffic because we're here.
Have you ever walked across the George Washington Bridge. It's
(09:50):
so cool. Yeah, So you get a completely different view
of New York City in the skyline. So I used
to love taking my bike and doing a bike ride
down there. You go down the West Side Highway down
to their head and your hats in there to the
bottom of the GWB. When you're at the bottom of
the George Washington Bridge, and you gotta make the climb
all the way to the top in order to go
across it. I would love to do that. So, you know,
everyone listening to this, you should consider what you would
do during a staycation. A lot of people do a
(10:11):
staycations anyway, so you should consider, like, maybe you could
drive out of town for about an hour and what's that.
What's an hour away? What can we go do an
hour away? I don't know. I love I love being
in my town for like Fourth of July week because
we have the parade fourth of July morning and they
throw candy at the kids and we get bags of candy.
And then on the fourth July, we always have my
sister's birthday because she was born in the fourth of July,
(10:32):
so we always have a little party for her. So
it's like all these little traditions that we do and
the fourth July fireworks. Of course, is that I'm excited
not to be home on vacation this time because we
took a week off in March I had my wrist surgery.
We took off a week in May I was homesick
recovering from being in the hospital, and so this is
my first time off where I'm not recovering. I thought
(10:53):
you were sticking around. Oh, I'm sticking on the first week,
and then thanks to Johnny Magic in Orlando, I'm going
to Disney for one day. That's it, one day when
you pay for you're serious, you're going to fly your
entire family down to Florida. You're going to just take
you where you're driving, your free ticket and go for
one day with your free ticket, and then you're not.
(11:15):
You're not gonna let your kids going. Where are you going? Bettany?
I have a client who just sent in a last
minute commercial request. You're not supposed to do last minute
commercial request. Don't they know they have a deadline. She
hates my story, but I have to do it. I
have to do it. I'm so sorry. I swear. No
one in this place understands we have deadlines. We have deadlines,
are supposed to meet deadlines. This is why things can
(11:36):
screwed up. Okay, back to you in the room. I'm
gonna we're working on going for four days. I was
going to say, if I was right now, I have
one day etched stone. I used to hate that when
my parents we're going to Disney, but we're driving we drive.
The last time, we had a great time. This time
we're flying as a kid though, because jet Blue. It
(11:58):
was just awesome. And I said, you know what, I
don't like to fly, but I'm geting on Jet Blue.
Jet Blue. Isn't that funny because I've heard someone else
say that they don't like to fly, a lot of
people don't like to fly, but jet Blue is such
a different experience. It's the seats, that the customer service,
the TV screens. It puts me at ease where most
airlines don't. That's good. There you go. What a what
a great endorsement for for jet Blue? Not a commercial.
I just love them. You know what great he's doing
(12:18):
on Monday? What are you doing Monday? Thank got him
in a celebrity golf tournament where he's golfing with all
these Caddy A List celebrities as he's a quote unquote
celebrity on Monday. It's so cool. Congratulations, you have to
be a celebrity Monday. I was set up exactly Elvis
so Garrett and said, hey, man, you want to go
golfing on Monday? And I'm like, hey, that sounds fine.
So he did. I just figured he'd be going with me,
(12:39):
be hanging out whatever. And he assumed it's a it's
a charity, and you'll be one of the v I
p s the celebrities. I'm like, okay, that's gonna be fun.
I wonder who's gonna get me whatever. So then all
of a sudden last week he tells me, hey, by
the way, here's the list of Celebrits are gonna be there.
And I can't golf with you like Rob Blow. The
list is Depp Yankees met right in the A Listers
(13:02):
One Direction reunion. Your celebrity not like that Elvis. No.
And then I said, you gotta get me out of this.
This is embarrassing. I can't possibly be this is wrong,
It's not true. You'll be surprised how many of those
celebrities listen to this show. A lot of people. But
somebody probably paid a thousand dollars to golf with Charles
Barkley and they're going to get great, right. I bet
(13:24):
people would pay more to vote to to play golf
with great teeth and Charles bark I could not imagine that,
but maybe they will, and I'll make it the best
for them. I will talk to hold On who you're
raising money for. Oh that's a White Quayne's Children's Hospital.
Oh my gosh, it's a wonderful, wonderful thing. You hands down,
that is a good thing I feel. But I just
steel bad for the people who want to they're gonna
(13:44):
golf with me, like, I mean, you know, you have
other like Brian Cashman, the organ the general manager of
the Yankees going to be there, and then me, I
don't even know who that is podcast. I would rather
play golf with you. Do they get to pick like,
do they get to pick you? Or do they just
get assigned you? You know they have like a blind date? Yeah,
they they put money off. Someone put money up for you.
The least amount is gonna get me. I'm the blueper frog.
(14:07):
Don't know that. Would you keep an eye on that
when we get back, we'll hear a full report. Yes, absolutely,
keep the pants on. But that's why I couldn't make
it to didn't to lunch to celebrate Sam when she was,
you know, leaving, because I needed to brush up on
my game because I look, I'm gonna look like a
moron out there. I love golf, by the way, but
you're not out there to win a game or there
to just to have fun and raise some money. Like
Froggy is a great golfer. I am half of that.
(14:30):
You know what Froggy says, he's a great golfer. Every
time I've been with Froggy when he golfs, he hits
the ball into the into the woods and starts cursing.
Well he does he I've never seen anyone so frustrated
in golf, and he and everyone says he's always a
great golfer. No, I don't think Froggy is all that
great compared to Greg t he's a great golfer, all right.
I do what I think is golf. You know Alex,
he Alex my guy. He can go like ten years
(14:52):
without golfing and get out there and just beat everyone.
I have asked the golf club he beat, asked him
to go golfing. I wanted to make a nice tea
time for him and I would love to go play
with him. Yesterday I was in his neck of the woods.
I was at the Richmond County Club over there golfing,
and then that it was a great place. I would
love to go golf with Alex. Please tell him that
(15:13):
he'd rather golf with the celebrity and see golfer. You're
a non golfer, right, Brodie, No, I don't got Garrett,
do you golf too much? Walking? And Danielle, yeah, golfing.
I just don't. I just it's one golfer that I
follow because he's funny and he does really crazy things
on Instagram. But other than that, I don't like this board.
But I do like the idea of ride and rent
in a cart and having cocktail at cigar. Good cigar
(15:34):
out there, and you look good and played pants I
look you should see them next to your bed on
the floor. Anyway, So let's hear it for a great vacation, Yes,
our very last fifteen minute morning show podcast for a while,
all right, and when we come back July two, we've
got a major announcement about the Elvin Drain Morning Show
summer back. It's gonna be a lot of fun. All
(15:56):
announcement July t fifteen minute more Big shellf
