(01:04):
your podcast Firms Morning Show? I love I'll listening to
so much, especially on Twitter, because they remember things that
we've talked about in past podcast and then they bring
it back to you in tweets, like when I said,
(01:26):
remember what I said that I used to get the
end of the year award for best attendance, but it
was like a b S award. Well, by not being
on the podcast on Friday, I ruined my perfect a tenants.
So somebody tweeted at me yesterday, I guess you're not
getting your end of your tenants snus. There really wasn't
a podcast, Garrett spoke, But that wasn't a podcast. What
do you mean, Well, it wasn't like everybody who's in
(01:48):
the room doing a fifteen minute morning show podcast and
you weren't here. None of us were here, and then
Garrett from home recorded audio and uploaded it to cover
up the fact that we weren't here. Oh, is that
what happened? I didn't even so. I feel like it
was a snow day and the nerd showed up asking
if he could have a surprise quiz is what ended
up happening is they were filming something in this studio
(02:09):
that was supposed to take like a little bit and
ended up taking a lot of bit, and so we
all had to leave before they were done, and so
we couldn't do a podcast. So, speaking of Twitter, I
could just slip this in. I want to send a
shout out to uh Vedem. You can turn my mic off.
Punch in the face. Um, I want to shout out
(02:31):
to Vedem Postleleuck close enough, because about a week ago
I had said I had a topic I wanted to
discuss on the podcast about a problem with getting a
table in a restaurant, and we never got to it.
And so every day tweets when he goes, are you
tabling that conversation again? Loving the puns? So we are
(02:55):
tabling it again today. Maybe we'll bring it tomorrow. But
Bethy's got something fanta plastic. From what we're hearing, this
could set back everything we've done previously, back years. This
is going to be the best part about the bar higher.
But hey, do when you do this to me? I
hear that from women all the time. Okay, So here's Okay,
(03:15):
So Scary and I are in a little bit of
a pickle. As you know, Scary and I share a friend. Uh,
Scary claims I poached her, and I didn't. We met
separately through a different mutual friend, but A stopped hanging
out with her. I did stop hanging out with her,
but no, no, you started hanging out with her more
because you were monopolizing her time. So anyway, she's been
(03:38):
hanging out with you. So this friend recently got married
and and she sent out her wedding invitations via email,
like basically like an EVI A lot of people do that, right,
So the issue. I knew she was getting married because
she texted me or I saw it or something on
Twitter or something. I saw that she was getting married.
So I knew she was getting married. But I have
(04:01):
a really hard time keeping track of my emails, and
so I remember, like a while ago, opening an email,
seeing that it was a wedding celebration, and then quickly
moving on, and I think I expected to get something
in the mail or something whatever. So I just went
through my emails and I saw that I got one
on Friday saying we look forward to continuing our wedding
(04:23):
weekend and celebrating with you tomorrow, which was Saturday, which
was the first one that like, I really opened and
looked at and realized that I missed my friend's wedding
completely because it was sent to me via email. Wait
had you so you had an rsv P. I haven't
done anything. I had an rs VP. I hadn't acknowledged
(04:44):
I hadn't nothing, nothing, nothing. Here's the email. I hadn't
even viewed the car, I hadn't opened. Wait, wait, before
he answered that question, this is the rule. If scary went,
he wins the friend back. I did not go. But
then again, I don't think I was even invited because
I'm not on the radar anymore. I don't even think
he got the evite. Well here's the thing, yes, and
(05:06):
that's the thing I got. I didn't even see. I
think this rule, guys, I don't know about you, and
I think, Bethany, this might be where you're going doesn't
really count if they email you a wedding invite. I
think that's way too informal for something so important. I
feel like I understand that a lot of things are
moving that direction, and I get that for me, I
(05:29):
feel like it's really similar to a Facebook invite, which
is I assume that if you're sending a Facebook invite out,
you're sending it to everybody on your Facebook list, and
it's not super personal. I I think I would have
needed in this situation at least a text saying, Hey,
sending out my wedding invites. Keep your eye out for
an evite or whatever. If you get a fancy calligraphy
(05:52):
right invite, you put it on the fridge. Right. If
you get an evite, is your responsibility to print it
and then put it on the fridge. And most of
this him you get a save the date ahead of time,
and I may have gotten now via email and not
and not seen it. And they know a lot of
people do like, um, you know, go to our website
and rs VP that way instead of sending it back.
(06:13):
But usually they at least send yourself. It's got to
come through the mail. I don't count it. I don't
count it. It was well did her family and friends
get a written fancy calligraai? I don't because if you
got like second tier invite, then you're not responsive on
Facebook as invites your birthday party at a bar that
that's acceptable for face by Facebook, and Bethany still won't go. No,
(06:36):
but think about it a second. I might have gotten
an invite and now I must have missed it. I've
been tell yourself that I've been friend commy, friend Commy.
We talked about it on this very podcast. He's like, dude,
you didn't get my my Facebook invite, Like, I'm not
so sure now he said he did, but anyway, they
we scheduled the date and I'm going to that one.
But the point is this, you guys, you have to
(06:57):
realize that that it has to be if it's if
it's in important to you for me to be there,
if it's an expensive party, if it's a big thing,
it's a big celebration, it's a monument, it's a milestone,
send it to the mail. And and to be honest,
for weddings, if I haven't, you don't hear from somebody
that you know you invited. You usually say hey, did
you get my wedding invitation? Because you have to pay
(07:19):
for that, you know, for that plate. And I think
that because I understand your wedding isn't about me, Like
I understand that, like if you want to send an
evite and that's your narrative. That's awesome. You go do that.
It's not about me. But if you want to get
a head count or whatever, you know that. Like I'm
terrible at email, Like I say this all the time,
and it's totally true. I have unanswered emails from two
(07:40):
thousand eight, like me there, I'm terrible at it. And
so I feel so bad. And so then I was asking.
I was out in the living room asking like what girl,
Kathleen and RRISA, So then do you do you send
a gift? Like what what do I do? If? If
here's my rule, if you send me an evite, then
I'm just going to send you a picture of a gift.
(08:03):
I feel that it is so bad because like she's obvious.
I mean, they're they're the best, They're so happy in weddings.
You know you are close to her. She ain't getting
a gift from me because you poached her and she
chose you. There was several years ago, but point did
not poached her. Grian Freedman introduced us, not you, Well,
(08:23):
we introduced you to Brian Freedman. T J introduced me
to Brian Freedman. Fair enough, this is all we I
introduced everyone to but hiring him. This is true Freedman's
fault that Allegra is not getting it, is not getting
a wedding gift. But my babysitter's name is Allgra game.
(08:43):
Maybe she doesn't need a gift because she saves so
much money on invite great head. You know, invite some
very expensive And that's why I get it. I know
that the trend is moving in this direction. I just
think that like it's going to take a little bit
more time as we all figure out the etiquette as
it moves this direction. I'm all for I'm all for
moving forward tech knowledge. An evite is like if the
(09:03):
guy showed up wearing a T shirt that looked like
a tuxedo, Like, at some point, go fancy, or I'm
gonna get you a dinner play a dinner set that's
paper right. You just pretty much undervalued your own, your
own occasion by not churning out inviting the mail. Danielle
is looking at me like I'm crazy, because nowadays things
are different. You need many emails? Do I have that?
(09:26):
Look at the email badge on my iPhone eleven thousand,
seven hundred and six. Yeah, are you crazy. How the
hell am I supposed to find your ship in my
freaking email? I just opened the card. This looks like
it was a lovely wedding. Oh man, should propose your faces.
Just sending a little something. It would have been my
(09:48):
first second Jewish wedding. Can you send a little something?
And I'm more resolutely going to the guilty You're going
to get for nut showing up Jewish and so sorry
she gets a gift, but she gets a less your
gift because you didn't go. I mean, it's not like
I spent the whole time looking for you with my
own wedding. I was worried you didn't call. Can I
tell you how terrible I am at this stuff? Um
(10:09):
My cousin got married two and a half years ago.
I still haven't sent the wedding gift yet. I think, like,
I'm so terrible at this you guys, I'm so bad
A kind of like grown up etiquette stuff and that
Bethany and baby gifts. I have them about five gifts
behind between weddings. What do you look at me? You
owe me two baby gifts. I don't think I ever
gave Garrett a baby gift when Hudson was born. No,
I just Hudson's turning to no. And it doesn't It
(10:32):
doesn't enter my mind as a grown up to do.
It just doesn't enter my mind to do this stuff.
I've given out way more than I've gotten back, that's
for sure. Because I haven't babies. I don't commemorating anything.
I'll get you something for your wedding once again. See
I mean didn't money. I've been doing out money my
whole life. Bethany, I'm with you. It was totally fool.
(10:52):
You don't want to get married, you don't have kids,
but it's your full you're just trying to make those
money making I'll throw some money. I'll throw some money
into your new minivan. You know how, you know how
they do like gender revealed parties and then everyone it's
another excuse to have a party. So you show up
and you give them a present or whatever. So I
think what we should do scary is every time you,
(11:12):
I or your girlfriend takes a pregnancy test and it
comes out negative, we should have a pregnancy test revealed
party where everyone comes, they bring gifts, no gender. Then
we like Papa balloon and it says negative. Yes for
that just a circle, a dash is a minus sign?
Is there a sigh of relief emoji? Like, that's what
(11:34):
that's what comes up. That's what we'll do. That's how
we'll get our parties in that babies either. How many
negative pregnancy tests has Roben taken? What are you doing?
You ever had a scare? No? Really, you're good. I've
had a coppleman. Yeah. Well one scare was that time
they did it with the lights on. You have to
(12:00):
set up for all the jokes. I don't need to
set up. I had one when Sheldon and I first
got when that first got together, but like we were
dating for a while and we were not ready to
have kids, and I thought I would have had like
a twenty something all by. Yeah, that was when you
were living in Sinna. Before that, that is when I
was living in sin Thank you for joining that. Parents
were not happy. They were not let's not go. Did
(12:20):
you teach Sunday school? Did you teach Sunday school while
you were living in And I told him that too.
I told him I'm living with my boyfriend, so that
makes a difference with me teaching. Let me know, I
was honest. Did you show him her ankle before marriage.
Shut up. But I just remember Sheldon asking my mom
for permission to move in together, and he she goes, no, oh, yeah,
(12:43):
oh totally. She said, no, you were knocking boots with
wouldn't even my sister come over and visit. At the time,
my sister found out we were living together because she
called the phone and we were both on the answering machine.
You don't know any of this. And then we bought
(13:03):
a house before we got engaged, and my mom said,
you know, you're doing everything backwards. And then eventually she
was like, okay, you know, I guess if you invested
in the house eventually, Ye, that's what always happened everything. Yeah,
my sister moved in with her boyfriend. They bought a
house before they got married. So then by the time
my dad moved in with his girlfriend, my grandparents were
(13:25):
fine with that because my sister had like paved the
way of sin, I paved the way of sin. Yeah,
together down that road. It was already paid. We just
celebrated date like together twenty years the other day. So
we've been together twenty years, but yeah, not married twenty years.
We've been together twenty years. I wasn't been married. We
got married in two thousand three. I remember your single days.
(13:47):
They were very brief. They were talking about you know,
you've known British, have only known you like twenty something years.
So yeah, you were on Shelton almost as long as
you've known me. Right, two years longer when I started
full time. I was with him before I even started
being like on the air here I was doing. I
was an intern, so two years. I knew you for
(14:09):
two years and you were single, Greg. He tried to
date me. Remember remember you're with one dude and then
you were single and then next thing you know, you're
dating Sheldon. Yes, like nobody had any chance to get
it as I was. No, no, no, I was single
and dating a whole bunch of other people before I
met him. So but I was casually dating a lot
of different But then you didn't get any other time,
any other chance for any other guy. Didn't need it.
(14:31):
I didn't want it. Once I met him, I was like,
all right, well was good. I dated people for a
lot longer than you have. Scary because you said you
didn't start dating till later on. Was you know you
got married in three Gift There are actually a couple
of people. Let's me, we're never going to be getting
(14:54):
kept the physical list. My favorite I know one person,
I know one person was my favorite thing that happened
that one of my favorite things. Two people came up
to us, so wasted. It was so funny. They said,
we lost your check. There was so wasted. We can't
find where we put the envelope. We're gonna put a
stop payment on it and send you another. And they did,
but they were that drunk, not remember where they put
(15:17):
the envelope. Was it the couple dressed as a monkey,
you know? Was it the couple dresses Frank Sinatra? And
they were fired as well. You missed the great wedding
guys there you were there that show that Haytering Hall
has my all time favorite food. If I hear someone's
having a party there, I go. Ever like them or not. Bethany,
I think you would be in the brighter part. Bethany
(15:40):
would be Venian so much. Yeah, Nian the best Italian food.
It's amazing. The place is amazing. The food is out
of this world. It's not the best road getting there,
but once you're there, it's awesome. That road it's like
the minute morning show, oh
