Speaker 1 (00:00):
Rita Aura is finally he's here.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Good morning and New York. The traffic, you guys, we
need to figure this out. Okay, I'm so sorry. You
know how much I love you, right, and you know
how much I love all of you guys. Hi, everyone,
This outfit would make you guys happy, but realistically, there's
no excuse for this. It's disgusting behavior.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Dare you? I told them I was playing a song
I said, when Rita walks out, I gonna go where
the f have you?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Well?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Good morning everyone listening. My name is Rita Ora, and
I am late, and I really apologize, just.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Like the Queen of hearts. I think it's fabulous.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Thank you. Tis what we're here, we're doing a promo run.
I'm all in red off.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
With your head, with your head. You're fine, you're fine.
Let's not spend our time together regretting the time we
did not spend together.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
That's oh, that's so lovely, Elvis. Deep wait, it's eight
o four and we've hit the deep end.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
It's okay, you're fine, you're fine. No, no traffic suck.
I was talking about driving you today.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
You did, didn't you.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
I'm still looking at it. I'm still I need a
shot up something goodness track, Why did you do that
to yourself? Why do we choose to live in New
York is the question?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Because it's fabulous, is it? It really is? I mean
it's always been fabulous. There's nothing really like it. I mean,
I'm from London, but there's still nothing like it. I
mean every time I come here, all the shows that
I do, they're always so jam packed, Like in the
anywhere that I'm at, whether it's a small place or
like on the streets, everything is just so vibrant and
like they really appreciate talent and creativity here.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
London isn't shabby.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
London's all right, it's great, it's great.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Speaking of this, this comparison between London New York, you
actually were talking about the masked singer. Yes, how you said,
you know, the masked singer over there is great, but
the one here is better.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Did I say that? You? Did I say that?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I was told you. Well, you said it's bigger.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
It is, okay, because it's a bigger country, bigger better.
Hold on, Hello, America, where dreams are made of it's
basically the same. Let me just correct that before my
UK followers start thinking I lost touch.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
I'm sorry, did I just fart on the elevator.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
No, it's just you know, it's it's different. It's like,
you know, here is like, you know, the talent is
so vast and there's so many incredible talented people here,
and so when they unmask here in the United States,
I'm just kind of like, how did they get this person?
Because there's such big names. You know, we just wrapped
actually season twelve, and I can't believe who's been behind them.

(02:32):
I mean, I'm like I used to sort of like
listen to them growing up when I can't speak, because
I don't I.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Can't be fair, to be fair. When singers started, yeah,
they would go, You'll never guess who's behind this mask?
And they take up to mask and you're like, who
is that?

Speaker 6 (02:45):
I think started in the beginning, when it first started,
I think a lot of people didn't know what it was,
and I don't think they could get the quality that
they get now.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
The concept is definitely bizarre. Yeah, you know, but I
think at the end of the day, like you've seen
the growth and I love being on the show. You know,
we've got Ken Chong, We've got Robin thick Jenny McCarthy
or another thing about New York is being here. When
I when I did the ball drop for New Year's
I mean, I will never figet that I hosted it,
this last one, and I was just sort of like, wow,
I need to be an American.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Well Americans love the new song.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
By the way, Oh, thank you so much. You've always
been there for me, supporting me, so thank you so much.
This song is a real great summer banger.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I like thinking, is it's a bop?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah? The bop is bopping to me.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Bop is like a burb Really make make the noise.
God you're using when you're.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Like you guys, I'm loving. I just can sit and
listen to you guys all day. Please do talk about
everyone's just know it's the radio and here we are.
That's what we do on the radio.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Hey, I wish everyone and we are going to if
you don't mind, get some photos you. You were so
beautiful today.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
You know I needed to hear this today. I had
a really tough night last night.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
You know, when you know you've got so much going
on and you can't relax and fall asleep.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Have you ever heard that that was my day yesterday.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And you just feel like you can't, like you know,
just completely quiet your mind. And that's kind of what
happened last night. I knew I had to see you,
which made me feel better because I know because you
guys are like so easy.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Well that was yesterday and that was na ast night.
Today is your day. You're so right, So yeah, you
own it.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
So can you believe even people? You know, everyone goes
through this stuff, right, I think, no matter who you
are and what you do, and sometimes the day just
gets ahead of you and you're just sort of like,
I can't do anything today, you know, And I think
it's just really good to just be open and honest
about it. So if anyone's feeling like that today and
you're driving anywhere, just know that it's a choice and
you can make it right exactly.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
But but do not regret yesterday. Yes, we all need
a day where we kind of kick ourselves in the
yes a little bit or just like because you need
the next day today to go why was I? Why
was I doing that?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
You know?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
I really should be better myself.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
And I think again, it's like when you have new
things you're putting out in the world like the film,
or I don't know the music, or if it's a
conversation you have to have with someone off, you know,
you start overthinking and here we are, But we are here.
It's a new day. It's not even nine o'clock. I'm
gonna change. We're changing our mindsets.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
We control our minds.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yes, it's interesting.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Let's talk about the film. Yes, Queen, the Queen of
Hearts is sitting right next to me, her head.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
How it's fun was it to do Descendants? Because all
those movies look so much fun.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I realized it was a I mean, listen, the movies
are fantastic, but I realized it was a really big
deal when you know, the trailer hit eighty nine million
views in a couple of days, and I was thinking, whoa,
this is a big, big amount of people. I loved
the films always, and this is a great transition into
something different, the Rise of Red. So I play the
Queen of Heart's iconic role helenam Carter and all these

(05:37):
incredible talents that have played her, and then again, I
have a daughter, which was also a reality check. I
was like, oh, this is what it feels like to
be a mum in a movie.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
In a movie, it's different when you're not in the movie.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I mean I can see
a lot of my friends have kids are like I'm
constantly stressed.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
It's a part of it.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
But I have the I had the best time, you know,
with the car and the film. It's all original music.
It's like a musical and I've had it was just
an amazing experience. We shot it in Atlanta. It was fun.
I love Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
By the way, if you're wanting to see what Rita
is Warring wearing this morning, we are live on TikTok
and Instagram right now.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
If I can give you an explanation, it's like a big,
fluffy red what do you even call it?

Speaker 1 (06:20):
It looks like a couch.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Touch it. It's actually no, it's more like it's more
like a scrub the thing you scrub your body was
it's a I.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Actually thought it was like fuzzy, but it's not fuzzy.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
You know, it is a loofer.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Everyone get in a line and touch Rita's ufa.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
You guys, I'm here for the It's nice.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
You could say, I can't read it.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
What no that's another thing. Well, that's why I probably
give it. I give it back where all this stuff go.

Speaker 7 (06:50):
So when you have an amazing outfit like this and
you're not gonna wear it again because social media ruins everything,
what do you do with it?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I save it? I like Celine Dion does. When did
you have to watch her documentary fascinating? Oh my goodness,
it was unbelievable. But she has a storage, you know,
with all of her clothes. So Nardashians do that too.
I kind of do that all for the special things
like shows and for the oscars and things that I
feel like our memory. I just sort of like save
the dresses and the others. I either give to charity

(07:18):
or put on an auction for a charity.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
I just woke up and realize something. Yeah, Rita wore
something that's so special, she's going to put it in
her vault for us. She wore this for us.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yes, oh you mean this loofer?

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yes? And I said, yeah. We are live on TikTok
and Instagram right now at Elvis durand show. So if
you need to see the loofer, the living loofer.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Hello, it's the top end. It sure is. We come
in detail honey, everything is so I'm going to have
to make an effort for you guys, are you kidding?

Speaker 1 (07:47):
You did? And it's paying off. I would love for
you to walk down the streets of New York and
watch behind it. Just watched people's reaction.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
It just did actually walking into your building.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Did Do you notice when people.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Go, well, sometimes I turn around on this sort of okay,
that means I did well.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yes, you got to get their attention.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
Do you notice hear though, that even when you're walking
down the street looking like this, looking fabulous, people leave
you alone more than another place is Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Maybe because they don't think. I don't know. Maybe they
think that I haven't I've done it all nights, or
I haven't slept or something, because you.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Know, this is your walk of shame, walk of shame.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
But no, it's actually what I chose, and I've had
a full night sleep, so that might be questionable. Maybe
the thing with New York is I don't think anything's
out the window. You can't just I think anything goes here.
Oh yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
They weren't Sex and the City back in the day.
We were all like, what the hell?

Speaker 2 (08:34):
And it's crazy you walk down the street and you
see them filming it. I mean, New York is it's mad.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I needed to hear to hear you say that, because
if you live here, it's a it's a different thing. Yes,
And we went through a pandemic and all of that
in the city just hasn't quite bounced back to what
it was. And I have a tendency to kind of
beat the hell out of our city.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Really I do well because maybe because you're here all
the time, why not, But I.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
You don't want to beat the hell out of yourself
all day because after a while you're going to believe it.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
I mean, it's the same thing that happened to me
this morning. That's kind of what exactly.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
And I don't want to beat the hell out of
my city because New York City is it is what
it is.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
There's a lot there's a lot of people I've known
here because you know, I moved here when I first
signed my first record deal when I was about nineteen,
and I lived on alone in Brooklyn and it was
really scary. I mean, I didn't really know anyone, and
I had this huge sort of like life that was
given to me with my record label and a great apartment,
and I was looking at the Brooklyn Bridge and it
was just like a dream, and I was thinking, hello, look,

(09:34):
I didn't have anyone around me. It was a very
so my association with New York was kind of lonely
in the beginning.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
You needed that, Yeah, it was a part. It was
a part of your.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Journey, right, And so I was sort of thought, oh, gosh,
I could never live here. You need to know a
lot of people and friends, because it just that I
think the life will just pass you by in a
town like this and a city like this. And so
I came back and then I decided and I made friends,
and then you know, I've changed my whole aspect of it.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Where do you spending the most of your time?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
I'm everywhere, guys, I'm in and I'm just in a suitcase.
I mean it's crazy, like, I don't know how will
my clothes fit in the suitcase and me as a
human body in the suitcase.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
You travel in a suitcase?

Speaker 2 (10:14):
No, I mean technically that's kind of what I do now.
I mean, I just am a never in one place
I do. I mean, if they're like, where do you live,
I'll say London, but you know, I'm never really there
for longer than a couple of weeks, and I just
I'm leaving. I'm going I've got to show in Portugal
after this, and then in Rome and Europe because it's
festival season, so there's like a lot of festivals.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
You're working, and you're when's the nest time you took
a vacation.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
I think I'm going to do on the end of
this month.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
What do you think a couple of days Asia? I
see Asia.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
So my husband Tiger, he's actually in Italy right now
with his two kids, and obviously he was like, good
luck on your crazy schedule. I'll be in Italy having pasta,
and you know, he facetimes me and he's like, oh, look,
we found a piece of stuff. Like I mean, I've
never really done in Italy holiday, but that's apparently amazing.
So I'm going to do that for about five.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Union to do that. Yeah, we just go back from Bali.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Yeah, I want to do that.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Bally was on f in reel Is.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
It's really far from here.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
It was nineteen hour flight to Singapore and then two
hour flight to Whoa. But it's okay. On the on
the Singapore airlines. You sit there and they have us food,
you drink, you watch a bad movie.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
When you know you've got somewhere to go, that's amazing.
I don't think it matters. When I traveled to New
Zealand and it took me three days to get there,
that's a lot like. No, I'm exaggerating. It took me
about four days. It was.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
It was far from Did you enjoy the experience?

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (11:33):
And then I got there and I thought, wow, it's
like being on Mars. It's beautiful. That's where my husband's from. Guys,
that's why.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
He's from Mars.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Husband, Yeah, he's from.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Mine is from Uranus.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
I've got one called Do you know of my best
friends have a satin tattoo? You do? Why is that
because it's the closest planet to Uranus? Why not?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
All right, let's do let's let's get you to know.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Oh yeah, sorry, can let's do this. We play music.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
We're gonna play your song. Do you have to leave?
Are you late for another appointment?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Well, now the whole day has become Oh my god, Elvis, please,
can you guys forgive me?

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Could I tell you a few stories? One time Katy
Perry was late was she and we put her back
in the.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Car away first, but I think you have a self
school for.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Well no, but here I have a very.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
And this has never happened and I will never do
this again.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
We didn't let her in the building because the show
was almost over. In no way, there was no segment
for her, so I said, don't even bother coming up.
And that happened with Nicki Minaj.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
To but Kat came back the next day.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
She did, she did.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Sorry, Nicki Minaj brought me a piece of like.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
I felt, actually one in the car.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
You don't give that to you. Here we go getting
to know you ask Rita any question, Okay.

Speaker 6 (12:57):
I want to know if you're if I know you
said home is London. But if someone says, okay, well
what do you do for downtime?

Speaker 4 (13:03):
What would your answer me?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
If I could sleep, it would be just to sleep.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Nothing wrong with that, you know.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
I'm a I love a good sleep.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Yeah, okay, we're getting you to no red Ora, go ahead, Gandhi.

Speaker 7 (13:14):
I'm always going to be about vacationing also because you
said you're gonna take a break.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
But do you do adventures stuff? Are you like a
bungee jumper, like there's a side like there's an itinerary
on your holiday or.

Speaker 7 (13:24):
Just you know, things that maybe your record label would say, Hey,
we don't want you to do that, ye ventorus I do.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I like. I like doing things like that. I like experiences,
So yes, I'll be that girl that jumps out of
a plane with you if you want. Yes.

Speaker 7 (13:34):
Okay, So you don't have you don't have a contract
that says hey, you can't do these things.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
But I'm showing a movie and things like that. But
the movie's done, so so yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Turn off the music. I've got questions. So when you
signed to do a movie like you did, Yeah, there
are I guess insurance for insurance reasons.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Well, yeah, you can't like become a Formula one race
car driver, you know.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
I mean, how do they say that in writing? What
does it say?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah? I think it's it's like insurance basically on your body.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
You can't do stupid stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Basically like yeah, for the duration that they need you.
So it's sort of like, you know, don't do anything crazy.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
It's kind of funny the contract I signed with. iHeart
where we are now. They're encouraging me to do like
dangerous death.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
They're helping the life to speak to the bosses up
there because maybe they're.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
He's sitting right behind you.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Oh yeah, he is.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
He already has someone ready to take my place.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
It was like he's watching you, just waiting for the downfall.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
He's helping his evil glare will kill me.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
He's like, Oh, I guess not not today, Let's try
again tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
I have a question from Scary for Rita or this
is from our ig TikTok lives going on in Elvis
Durran Show. What is your dream collab because you've been
collabing with so many artists. Oh my goodness, collabing?

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Well, I mean, would you guys ever do it like
a record with me?

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Oh my gosh, yes, she's only one that can. These
two can sing.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
I mean listen, everyone can sing. It just depends on
what parts you get in the song.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Well, you know I'm in a song, oh Elvis, remember
it takes two? Yeah, I I'm in that one too. Wait,
hold on, I'm not sure in everybody? Everybody?

Speaker 2 (15:03):
How many songs that? Oh?

Speaker 1 (15:04):
No, do you do you want to?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Why do I don't know? This?

Speaker 1 (15:07):
May I audition for you?

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (15:09):
I mean do you want to do the whole most
about situation.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Wait, hold on, listen to what I sounded like in
the song first.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Okay, okay, gonna close, mind is sucking, recognize it?

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Okay, okay, the owl that is not me, owl is
not me. But a minute, you're gonna hear who listen
to this? That's me.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Listen close right right here, right.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Here, that's me.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
It makes me Finally, will they use me?

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Sorry, they used me in the entire t.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
I wish this was me. Okay, the owl is not me,
but the is men.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Listen, I can't hit they edit me out.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
The hook is there like a top line or a
verse or I've wrote this song before, haven't you?

Speaker 3 (16:06):
There we go, Okay, that frigging me.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I'm pud you used you and test used me as well.
Boom box that's me saying the word boom box in
the test.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Said you just have a samples after samples.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
I don't know about me?

Speaker 3 (16:31):
What do you?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
What do you think about me?

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Let's give I mean should I do someone that? What
did you guys.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Thinking or something?

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Yeah? I mean yeah, like I don't know about the
spit part.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
But spinning is very big, right, you.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Can do anything you want on my records, did you hear?

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Okay, enough about let's talk.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Just get back to you, Okay, clap, let's think for real,
for real?

Speaker 1 (16:54):
No, no, no, no, I don't want to coll well, I
have the attorneys handle that.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
But just real quick. Post Malone, Shahboozy, just some just
all the kids that feel like they're just doing whatever
they want right now, which is awesome.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
I love that you and post Malone.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Well you do know that like I look like him?
Right you deny what part of you? Wait? Hold on?
When I put tattoos on my face and I did
the whole thing, have you guys all seen my postmal
and Handoween outfit? No?

Speaker 1 (17:20):
No, it was so similar, were.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
So similar to post Malone that that my photo became
the nomination photo for post Malone. When you got nominated
for the Grammars and they used they used me instead.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah, OK, that's pretty impressive.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
I do a search right now, Rida or post Malone?

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Yeah? Can I tell you? Also another thing, this was
how I did my whole show. I performed like that.
It was like I did like a Halloween bash and
I performed my full set looking like that.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Actually, you know, I find post Malone very attractive in
that photo.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Yeah, right, by the way, my body was like postonally,
I was acting like him. I was, I was amazing.
I loved it anyway, So yeah, maybe I don't know
how that made him feel exactly because my photo went
absolutely everywhere.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
He never responded directly to you.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
I can't. No, no, actually he didn't. So yeah, you're welcome.
Sad time he follows, but he follows me, he follows you.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
So at least he saw it.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
That's a positive.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Well I think he does.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
He didn't. Even I had dinner with some friends us too.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
No, there was.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
There was a table of us.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Yes, there was. You remember that or you're asking me to.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
No, we did, we did. Sarah Sarah was there.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Yes, there was a lot of people there. Sarah was
a couple of the iHeart crew and yeah, we had
a good time. It was a long time ago though.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
And Mario Carbone was there.

Speaker 7 (18:40):
Oh, it sounds like our birthday list in the morning.
A random assortment of people.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
It was. It was, but it was good. There was
a food fight of some sort, it was, and it
was yeah, you know, I'm there. Free food, we didn't
pay so was good?

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Complimentary? Oh okay, okay, movie and music? Yes, please, let
let's get to work. Because Lee leipsners over there, rolling
his eyes because we're not staying on point with the
asking the questions he wants us to ask.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Well, that's the radio pluger for you.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Lee and I have a great a great pastor.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Hence why you've allowed me to come in a couple
of minutes late. So thank you again.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
You did it. Wouldn't allow you to come in late.
We want you here no matter what time you get.
Don't tell everyone that I don't want to want to
be late for the interviews.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
I love you guys.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Okay, okay, yeah the song?

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Should we do about the song?

Speaker 1 (19:21):
I love this song? Getting getting to know you? You didn't? No, no,
where did it go? Okay? Well asking you, she'll receive, Yeah,
what I did? I have this new pickup truck. I'm
a gentleman farmer now. But when you listen to a
track on your phone, you can put it on a repeat.
I repeated this this song for over an hour.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
No, thank you.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Have you ever done that with a song? You're like,
I'm hoping my neighbor. Doesn't hear me listen to this
song five hundred times in a yew because I'll think
I'm a whack job. Yeah, I did that with your song.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Oh my gosh, thank you so much. You probably got
me so many streams, count every single one of them?
I don't think so, Oh my gosh, I don't know.
I think that there's a thing when they put I'm
not quite sure, but I don't think he counts if
you put it on repeat like that.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Look, I'm not a musician, but I'll tell you why
I loved it, Why I love it so much. It
made me feel good. It was definitely like a like
a gay banger, you like in the club.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
We do it for the for the girls and for
the gays.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yes, I mean it's all about that. I just did this.
I had an incredible is it kind of maybe?

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
My last record was really emotional. It was very sort
of like I had to really tap into my feelings
and everything, and so with this record, I didn't want
to do too much. I was like, sometimes, you know,
it's not that deep. You just want a great record
with great people that make people feel really good. And
if you followed my career over the past decade. All
my songs are sort of upbeat, dance love records that

(20:44):
are acceptance of anybody can come to the show and
be who they want to be and not feel judged.
So that's where I'm at with my music.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
I see, this is why I think, Yeah, don't be offended.
I think you would be a great parent.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
You're so sweet.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
No, no, no, I know I will be one day. Okay, Okay,
I not trying to rush it. Trying to rush it.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
You my mom, You and my mom Elvis. Okay, have
you spoken with my mom? Yeah? I mean I'd love to.
But that's kind of where I'm at with my music.
I just wanted to make people feel really good and
free and accepting because when I go to a show,
and actually I went, like everybody else on planet Earth
to the Taylor swift Eras tour, and I was in Australia,

(21:23):
and I was there with Katie Perry and we were
there doing separate things, but we both went and watched
Taylor and it was amazing and I just felt like
everyone around in that stadium just felt really safe. It
was just a really great community of people, and I
just thought, Wow, she's done such a good job and
making people feel safe, and now that's really kind of
half of the battle, you know. So the music you make,

(21:45):
whatever it is, you just want people to feel like
they agree with you. Next on your left and on
your right side, so you feel like you're part of something.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Well, that definitely was quite a tour that meant safety
and meant unity. And a friend of mine went to
see the tour and just loved seeing these two little
girls sitting to his left. He saw that to it
and they were with their dad, and so it was
a she was watching this moment of a father with

(22:12):
his daughters and it's so cute. And then to the
right there was like this one single guy watching kind
of pervy in a way, like when Scary was second row.
You were second row at Taylor Swift, and so they
all thought, who's this guy. I don't know, keep an
eye on that. But you know, it was a room
of acceptance. And but what I'm hearing you say about
this album is sometimes we need songs that don't really

(22:36):
have to dig that deep. It's okay to like enjoy
what's growing out of the surface of the earth exactly.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
And this is like a three sixty was written by
a friend of mine and made. Her name is Ray
and she's like a really upcoming, incredible, like young artist
and she's from the UK and she kind of she's
just done this whole transition in music where you basically
like she wasn't getting what she wanted from her label,
and she always wanted to be an artist and she
was a writer for so many big, big names. And

(23:05):
I met her a long time ago, and I've always
seen her as an artist, and so I had her
come on tour with me back in twenty seventeen and
she was like, what how I don't know people don't
really even know my songs like that, and I was like,
it's not about that. You want to be an artist,
will come and open up for me and like do
your thing. And it was just one of those relationships
where I've seen the struggle because I've been through it myself,
and I've also appreciated the songwriting and she's just one

(23:27):
of the best songwriters in the business. And then you know,
she sent me this record and I just thought, Wow,
it's kind of crazy. Three sixties. She's won all these
awards now, so and the people respect her. She's got
huge like songs on TikTok and things like that, and
here I am now you know, seeing her shine. And
now we've got this record together. Well even though she's
a songwriter, but on it still it feels like a unit,

(23:48):
you know, like like girl power, and it's just nice
to put this record out.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Yeah. And she went against everyone, the labels, everything, and
she proved them all wrong.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
So these labels, who needs them.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Oh, it's just a different time you need them, don't
get me wrong. We love you guys. But there's also
ways of working around At Shahboozy, he's on an independent label.
You know, all these amazing artists nowadays. You know, there's
just different ways of working.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Now, can we talk about Albanians?

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Oh my god, that's another reason why I love New York.
Shout out to all my Albanians in New York City.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Well, okay, let's talk about all the great music that
come from Albanian.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Yes, exactly, there's a lot of us.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
Now, give me the list. Our friend Biby.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Bb Rex, so we love her, obviously, another huge artist.
Do a leaper she and who else? Have we got
the max?

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Just four or five of you let's say is enough,
that's a lot.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
It's crazy.

Speaker 7 (24:45):
We did at twenty three and me and found out
he was Albanian who are arts manager?

Speaker 1 (24:48):
And this is how we call people here. Watch this.
When they built his place, they didn't put soundproofing in,
so he's coming a reason to call them, just screaming,
welcome to our hell. This is it's a beautiful building.
It's falling. It's falling in this board here will catch
on fire? On time? Is ready late for the the

(25:14):
next interview.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
I do have a bunch of promo stuff, but you
guys do all that matches, So I'm fine.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Where's where's I think the party?

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Oh? Andrea is like, you know what, you guys are
too insane and I don't want to come in and
and good news.

Speaker 7 (25:26):
If you stream something repeatedly, it does count no way,
That's what this is.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
So I streamed your song at least at least fifty times.
I'm an hour and a half. Thank you so much
an Albanian. At the end of the.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Day, hi, I tell Albanian, how are you feeling about
your Albanians Three men revolution?

Speaker 1 (25:47):
So it was actually in front of me the whole time.
My dad comes from the town in Italy is from
they speak an Italian dialect of Albanian.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Yeah, I know, there's a whole community of that.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
So it was right in front of us the whole time.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
That is what Hi, I'm mum. You can't speak yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
No, he can barely to do English.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
By the way, it's interesting the connection that you reader
Aura have with Andrew Paglie. Why well, because you were
scheduled to come on the show today and he didn't
put it on my calendar.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
You were coming yesterday and we were like, yeah, Rada,
are you kidding?

Speaker 1 (26:21):
I had to drive into the city. I'm sorry. Sorry
obviously not looking up for other Albanians, but.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Also I'm loving that this. If this has been just
off the cuff, it's been fantastic. If you haven't done
a niksul planning, no prep, Yes, it's great. That's what
we do. That's like why you guys are the best?

Speaker 4 (26:37):
Can I tell an Albanian story?

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Absolutely, Welcome to the Albanian in the Bronx.

Speaker 6 (26:42):
Which is the Yeah, and I'm part you never knew that, right,
I didn't actually you and Jaylo Yeah, exactly so. And
because I am not Albanian, but Yugoslavian part because all beautiful.
So in school, all the Albanians let me wear their color,
the red and black. Ye, you were not allowed to
wear red and black together unless you are an Albanian

(27:04):
in my high school. But because I was Yugoslavian, they
were like, you know what, you're close.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
You're close, you're allowed to and they would protect me.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Oh that's good.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Yeah, we like that.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I love it. It's like it's like a gangster.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah, you sound like taken, but the reality is we are.
We're a great group of people. We have your back, man,
and we're just we're very, very like strong loyal friends.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Now, Gandhi, let's talk about relations between Albanians and Indian
and Indians. Oh that's a great question.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
I'm not really sure I know anything about that, but
I mean neither between us.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
It seems good. I need to do my history. But
I do know a little Illyrian story because that's kind
of how it all started on the Eastern Europe.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
So it's just like a heavily like a politically.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Political Actually I was found out about this through Vin Diesel.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Weirdly is the Albanian.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
I think he's got some sort of like everyone connects
back to Albania some Okay, No, I'm kidding. In my dreams,
we do. But now he was telling me that there's
there was a lot of history and he had a
connection in the Illyrium sort of upbringing. And that's when
I went down a whole sort of history hole. But
thanks to Vindie's will figure that out.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Look at you Albanian and beautiful.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Oh my goodness, don't make me crying on.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
The biggest radio show.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
And I know, look at this New York City, Hello,
New York. I am rita Aura your.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Diary before you leave, I want to do I do
want to read something to you. Yes, you know one
thing that Andrew did do the Albanian over there. He
came up with the Rita aura like a little chi okay,
And usually Nate will sit down with our guest and
spend ten minutes of quality of time.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
We didn't have that time today.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
I didn't have that time. Sorry, So now I have
to rely on this. But there was a word, the
word titular was used.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
What par titular?

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Here it is.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
She is set to portray the villainer's queen of hearts
and mother of the titular character. Read do you know that.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I've never even heard of that word titular? Yeah, what
is that word? It?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
It's like the title character. No, no titular?

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Yeah? Is that what that means?

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Okay, because we heard the t I t wor.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Something else means when you're important? Yeah, I mean, I
don't know. I find it up with a number one
act darling you are. I mean, I've just had the
best time. It was. Yes, I play the Queen of
Hearts and it's just like on Disney Plus. Wait, what
days it out? July twelfth?

Speaker 1 (29:22):
I think Friday?

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Oh, yes, out Friday. Course that's quick.

Speaker 6 (29:27):
After you filmed it, were you're really going around just
saying off with your head to everybody?

Speaker 2 (29:30):
I was, and I had to train for it too,
because it's such an iconic line and it was just
let me try it. How do you find that it's
done it for a couple of months?

Speaker 1 (29:39):
How do you find that grind?

Speaker 2 (29:40):
But it's all from the gut, so it's sort of
like off with her head. Wow, that's pretty good. Wow,
I haven't done it in a while. I needed to
warm up. And it's also eight thirteen in the morning.
Have you seen the movie already?

Speaker 3 (29:54):
My one?

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Yeah, yeah, of course, Yeah, did you like it? I
loved it. I mean I was like, no, it's it
was amazing. It's cool because it's so like, there's lots
of characters for you to fall in love with. If
you're part of the franchise or you've been following it,
there's a whole new like group of people that you
can fall in love with. And it's nice to see
Cinderella and Queen of Hearts have this relationship. Cinderella's played

(30:17):
by Brandy and she is my queen and we sing
in the movie. And it was just awesome working with
her because I've followed her career since I can remember.
I'm a nineties baby, and so R and B is
my fine.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
I'm going to shell out some cash for Disney Plus.
I mean she was bitching about Disney Plus's a thing earlier,
weren't you.

Speaker 6 (30:35):
I was talking about Genie Plus at Disney World and
trying to figure out how to make it work, and.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
We'll be at the parks.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
We don't get it.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
I know, I'm still waiting for my free pass from
Disney Plus. And I've done a movie with them, and
I'm kidding, You're not kidding. I'm like, can you guys
let me just do a fun day in the park. Now,
I haven't even asked them yet, but this is this
is asking them.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Have you ever been to Disney World?

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Is it awesome?

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Awesome? Are you kidding? All the fireworks that you do
in the display? I take Tiger and his kids, my
step kids now to the and it's fun. There's like,
there's nothing like being a kid. I just want to
be a kid forever.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
I think going to Disney with Rita Aura would be like.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
The ultimately if she's dressed like the Queen of Hearts.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Oh no, I wonder to where this, guys, I don't
want anyone to know what she's there.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Well, they shut it down. They can shut it down
for that is fancy. I don't know. You've been saying
you're going to take us to Disney for a long time.
We should all go together.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
I got to play the song. I just pushed the
wrong button. We almost played someone else.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
You guys have been in this room for years, and
it's like, wait, it's not the right button.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
I don't know with this this equipment, you know, the
button rarely works that it.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Does look like it's been here for a while.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
It's awful anyway, Rita, it's so great having you.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Oh my gosh, thank you for having me and not
letting me like sit outside the room and just wait
because I was late.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
That would be so much fun. No, but you know,
we know having you here.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Imagine if you let that happen and then you would
just dig tating everything I was doing live on air,
but not actually letting me in the room to have
a chat.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Did you did you pop it edible before.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
You came out. I'm just delirious. I'm half asleep.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
You're awesome.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
I love you.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Thank you, You're stunning. And the song if you haven't
heard it, when you hear it, you will do the
same as I will as I did. You will stream
it multiple billions of times.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Well, they're going to hear it now, right, they're.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Gonna hear it now. I don't know where you're going next,
But don't say where you're going. I don't want I
don't want people turning us off and turning you on somewhere.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
No, stay on this show. I can't wait to hear
this on the radio. Thank you so much for playing
this record. It means a lot to me.
