Speaker 1 (00:00):
Guess what we gave the in terms of podcast Wait
we did what Whose idea was this? The dram clan? Hey,
I'm Ben, I'm Kayla, and I'm Kloe And where the
clan with Celia again? Hey guys, unfortunate Leilani is not
(00:21):
here today, but Celia's feeling in for her, so it's
all good. This weekend, I went to Didn't Typhoon for
the first time ever. I'm jealous. It was so good.
I had never been and we literally got like everything,
like I couldn't even tell like it just like so much.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Did you get the chocolate albuns?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Did I got the chocolate bl buons? Like don't ask
dumb questions? Literally so good. Oh my gosh, what was
your favorite?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
If you had to pick one thing.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
The cucumber salad was really good. It was like spicy
and like yum. The chocolate albums were really good, good,
so worthy. We got like spicy vegan noodles as well.
Oh my god, yeah, so far all that was yeah,
and the drinks were so good, like.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yes, the balbons though, like with that sea salt foam,
what the hell? It's so good?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I know all about it now and it's not that
far from you earsoul we go.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Yes, it actually is really close. And like I know,
I've been saying I need to go. I love Noboo,
like I love Nobu, and the one is like the
Nobu is right by us, Like I really really would
like to go.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
The one right bias would be the no bo.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
It's like it's like hit it in the city. It is.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Oh well Taylor Sofa just had the downtown one, so
yeah she was that's tea. Yeah, I really would like
to go. What did you got or how much times
have you gone where no Boo?
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Oh I've gone a lot. I my mom loves to
say in like the Noboo hotels like in Europe, you
know those the there's like one in Shortach in London.
Oh my god, They're all like so perfectly designed. They
all are like very Japanese and like have these really
cool like just convenience, you know what I mean, Like
(02:12):
the architecture is just convenient and I love that. Like
I will always pay more for convenience, do you know
what I mean? Like there are other things I'm like, Okay,
no that's not worth it, but like I will pay
for something that will make my life easier.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Yeah, I bang for your book.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah yeah, I went for the first time a couple
months ago, Fire the Downtown one.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Would you get the Krispy Rice?
Speaker 4 (02:37):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:38):
I got it?
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Rhyme. They're Chrispy rice is what they're like famous for
because it comes in the little six and you dip
it in. We'll just have to go back.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I always have to go back. I got the shrimp
and like vegetables, like shrimp and fried vegetables, and it
was fire And then we got all a couple of
rolls for like the table.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
But wrong, you ordered wrong.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Excuse me? Not all of us can be. No book
on a sword would be.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
So black cod, the yellow tail scallion, the Crispy rice,
and the waguh okay, no notes. I went for Christmas
Eve with my family. Oh so good. That was like
the best stuff. Best meal I've ever had was just
(03:28):
that one. For some reason, like we just opened a
Nobu in New Orleans because we opened a Caesar's Palace
and it's like in there.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Naturally, I know.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
I was like, wait what and you guess why we
did that? For Taylor Swift. That all we did, all
those renovations to New Orleans, like we used to have
used to be called Harrah's and then it got turned
into Caesar's Palace and then there's like a tunnel to
the Superdome. And it was like a four hundred and
seventy five million dollar renovation because we built a four seasons,
(03:57):
the Caesar's Palace, NOBO all in one, and it was
all just to be done in time for the air
tour to come to New Orleans. The airstor made New
Orleans like two million dollars. It was crazy. And then
the super Bowl was like a couple months after, so
they kind of it was perfect because they did it
for both of them together, and the super Bowl made us.
(04:19):
I think it was like seven point three million. Thank god,
we needed that, especially after January as ah of course. AnyWho, so,
what's everyone's favorite part of being an intern here so far?
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Thank go ahead.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Definitely the people and the vibes are awesome and seeing
new guests all the time.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah, I like that answer. I would definitely say the
people as well. But I also think just like living
out what you've done in college or trying to do
in college like in real life is really fun. I've
never been behind the mic for like a radio show,
but I have for sports. So just doing something like
this to expand like my career is really cool to me.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, it's like super rewarding.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah the people are great. I feel like a broken
record saying that, but it's just true. And yeah, it's
just like a fun place to be and it's nice
to want to go to work. Yes you know what
I mean.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yes, yes, you can.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Be tired, you can be in a bad mood, you
can be whatever. But like I'm never like, oh I
don't want to go. Yeah, Like it's never that I
I'm like, oh I don't want to go do what
I do?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yes, Yeah. I talk about that with my roommates a lot,
because one of my roommates is in like insurance and
then my other groommates like just doesn't really love her
job and like they both actually we're like literally texting today,
like I can't ever do this, Like I have to
peel myself up on Mondays, like I just stare at
the ceiling and think about how much I hate my life.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Like wait, that's so sad.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
It's so sad. And I'm like, the thing is is
if you just chase after your passion, like sometimes you
won't make as much money, but like in the end,
it's more rewarding to like be fulfilled and like even
we're lucky to like have known our passions. Like I
asked some of my friends sometimes like who are even
(06:29):
if had like been working for five years and I'm like,
do you like your job? And they're like, you know,
it's fine, Like okay, well, like what are you passionate about?
Like what would you really want to do? They're like
I'm trying to figure that out, Like wait, what, Like
I don't know what I would do if I didn't
know what I wanted to do? You know, yeah, yeah,
it's a blessing. We live a very blessed laugh, like
(06:53):
knowing that we want to do like anything, even to
do this with this is like amazing.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Some sort of no star for sure.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Really is amazing.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
It's your favorite part?
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Sorry?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
What's your favorite part?
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Like literally the same thing. The people are my favorite.
I love everyone I love. How like I'm able to
have kind of like separate groups of friends where like
I can have my friends from you know, my social life,
personal life, and then I have like friends here, so
I never really feel like lonely when I feel like
(07:34):
that's like such a huge theme I think in New York.
Even though it's like so crowded, it's so easy to
feel lonely for sure, but I always like have someone
to talk to, like or I don't know, I just
feel like I have a really good yea, yeah, for sure.
I like love all of my friends, including all my
(07:56):
coworkers here who are also my friends.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
You know, it feels very like group family dynamic, yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, you see that.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
And when you like walk in like as a first time,
in turn, you see it right away. Absolutely absolutely looks
like a family. Everybody is there for one another. And
I instantly felt that when I came here.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yeah, I mean I remember. I don't know if you
know this, but I interned two years ago.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Yeah I saw some of the videos cause I've been
archiving though.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, so I saw it. It was Diamond's intern and
it was like literally the best thing ever. Like the
internship is so fun and like so rewarding, and like
everyone is just always like what were you doing? Like
that just seems so cool, and it's like I don't
even know what I was doing, like living, living, that's
all I know.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I also feel like because everyone is like so close.
It is easier to like get close with everyone because
you're like just more inclined to like adapt to that.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
I jump in. Yeah, so and everyone is really like inviting.
Even though everyone is really close, I think people are
still really good at like being welcoming and open to
new voices and personalities. And I love that.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah. And I feel like when I started this, I
was like, yeah, I'll got like experience and it'll be
great and it'll be fun, and you know, I'd got
new pals.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
It's like so funny, it is. It's so it's really
so special, and like I genuinely after like postgrad and
you like talk to your friends who are working, you
really understand how important it is to have an environment
like this because your life really it's like a lot
of my friends are so miserable and like can't pull
(09:39):
themselves out of that even on the weekends, because it's
like all I'm thinking about is I had to do
this again on Monday, right, and like, oh my god,
what a hell? Like I it's I don't even know.
It's it's just so important to like follow what you
actually want to do. Yeah, for sure, And I'm glad
that y'all are doing the same thing.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
I really want to plan, like a really like yours workouting, Yes,
let's do it. I've been like trying to do it
and then I just I'm like, let's do it. All
you do and something like cute and fun and good.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
What do you want to do?
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I don't know, like nothing crazy, but just like like
a happy hour. I mean, I don't work Friday. It's
like I'll come up.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah. Well, the thing is, it's just so weird because
people come in a different everyone leaves at a different time. Yeah, aka,
like really early. So it's like what what happy hour?
Like coffee hour?
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Like I don't like a like a like a we
meet up later or even like a three a three
Like It's like I feel like people leave it like
three yeah, depending on the day.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
People who like aren't on the show.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yes, yeah, yeah, but like I don't think like like
Daniel wouldn't come to our happy hour anyway.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
You are not getting tickets to this show.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
She's like, oh, baby, no, I'm going to a Broadway show.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah exactly.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Oh no, I'm going home.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
No. I think that'd be really fun though it honestly is.
So it's so fun to like hang out outside of work.
I feel like you kind of get to it's a
whole different side of people, even though they are the same.
I don't know, like we all act the same in
and out of work. I think like I would be
talking like this if I was on my couch.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
You know for sure. Well I think that's like the
environment too, is like we're doing like you're either on
air or you're like working with your pals or reporting
a pod or whatever. It is like you kind of
just like have to be yourself. And if.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Truly, I don't really know how to act in a
professional setting now, Like I like I'm a really big
cursor and I like to use like lingo of course
jargon if you will, of course. So what the hell?
Like what do I do later in life? Like what
(11:48):
if I have to have a corporate job and like
I have to go to a meeting? No, what happens then?
I know, like my dad is very corporate like America
final boss, and like he is so confused as to
like what we do all day. And he came and
visited in last August, Holy wow, And I brought him
up here. He was like wait, what, Like I thought
(12:11):
y'all were all crammed into one room, like all of
us everyone including like interns, like producers. Everyone was like
all crammed and run one room and like we were
like some startup. Oh my gosh, no ouch, Like and
then he walks in and he sees we have like
twelve floors. He's like, you're in the big shots, baby,
(12:33):
what are you doing? Like, you know, he does not
under can at all. It's actually insane, but he loved it.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Wow, well now he knows. Now he knows your truth.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Yeah, now he knows him. Actually, I am also a
girl boss, just maybe not corporate America. Okay, does anyone
have anything fun coming up? What are you all doing
this weekend? I guess it's only Monday, but what are
you all doing this weekend?
Speaker 1 (12:53):
It's one of my friend's birthdays today, Happy birthday, Jean.
Well this is going to date the pod, but because
this won't come out for like four fucking weeks, episode
didn't come out last week, so that's fine. Yeah, but
happy birthday, Jean. It's her birthday today and we're celebrating
on Friday at her apartments, having a little party. So yeah,
that's so fun.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Happy Birthday, to her birthday. Jean, what are y'all doing
the same?
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Honestly, I think it's just a birthday era right now
because my little brother he just turned eleven, so it's
like to me, he's like a baby stove.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
But it's so hard to see.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Him be eleven.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I'm like twenty five and it's like, yeah, we're so
spread apart.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
But Saturday he has like a nerf gun party type
of vibe going on.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
That's the Storna do that.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
I'm gonna bring my boyfriend and We're going to have
a time, have to play.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Well, yeah, of course I'm gonna. I'm really gonna have
so much fue.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Yeah, I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
I'm jealous. What about you.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
I don't have plans yet for next weekend, but I
actually have a funny story from this past one. We
were at the Jersey Shore at this horse race called
the Haskell and we saw TJ from Love Island.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
I just always ticked off there. Oh he posted something
and a chicken fry and stuff. We're all there too,
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
He literally like my uncle.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
He always goes to these horse races and he has
he had a table there and TJ just like came
over and was like, yo, can I sit there? Took
my like seat because I like went up for a second.
I think I was like in the bathroom. I come back,
I'm like wait what There's like so many chicks like
trying to get his picture. And then they left, and
it was so funny because the person next to us
(14:34):
was like, Oh, how do you guys like know him?
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Is that your family?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
My uncle's friend was like, yeah, I'm his grandpa.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
I was like, yeah, I'm his cousin.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
I didn't even watch She's in seven because like I
couldn't watch him kiss so many girls.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
I just made that up.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I love lying the strangers. They were like, oh yeah,
I mean I went there. I love lying to strangers.
I was I was going to a party this weekend
and my uber was like I was with my friend
and was like you must be famous or something like
just because we were going to a party with like
a line or something, and and my friends started to
(15:13):
say like no, and I said, yes, we are, like yeah,
actually I have like twelve million followers on TikTok, Like
you don't know who I am, Like, look me up,
and I pulled up my I pulled up my username,
like handing his phone back and got out the car.
Because I'm like private, have like one hundred followers. I
pile pictures like me as a child on a boat,
like strangers is the best? Yeah, Bestianna, Well that's fun.
(15:41):
Nobody asked me what I'm doing. Yeah, thanks, I'm doing
habachi in the Hamptons. So they do, like they come
to your home and like set up the haibachi for
you in my sharehouse of twenty people, and then we
are throwing a really big party and then in the
(16:02):
Hampton's would you like to come out for the party.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
No anymore, I don't want to just intrude.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
So but then we're literally like sprinting and like leaving
the promises after the party. Wait, it's our last weekend
and after that, I don't want to see it. I
don't want to see the house after what's about to
occur there?
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Wait, do you have to like clean it?
Speaker 2 (16:24):
We have cleaners who we've been hiring. Oh they were
there last week for fourteen hours. My goodness. We gave
them a very hefty, hefty, hefty tip, and we love them.
But we tried to clean, like we cleaned first and
then that happened, Like there's just I mean there's thirteen
boys and like nine girls. I mean, what are you
(16:46):
supposed to do about to Yeah, Bess, we tried.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Are they friends from high school?
Speaker 1 (16:52):
With them?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Is like my best friend from like childhood, high school?
All the above and then the rest are like mutuals
that we know. Just being Southern, we just gonna like
no everyone in like certain cities and it just worked
out so fun.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
That's really fun. Are you excited for your big last weekend?
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Are I'm a little nervous to have a party, Like
I don't like how my stuff is gonna like we
need to get like your doggate, like to go up
to the stairs because I don't want any of our
stuff to be mexaing. No, Okay, could you put in
your car? We do not have that. We take the
train and we don't have any car, so we just
(17:34):
like uber and stuff. Okay. Yeah. However, actually, coincidentally, our neighbor,
like next door neighbor is somebody who we know, like
with his parents. So I'm like, perhaps we could drop
it off there and y'all can come, including the mom
and dad if you like, that's awesome. Yeah you should
invite them. Yeah, but then I'm going to go shopping
(17:56):
on Saturday and then I'm getting the hell out of there.
Audio see you.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Next summer going out of the bank.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yeah, I love that. I know I've already like I
spent too much money in that city.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I found myself on the ally r R this past weekend.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Where'd you each?
Speaker 1 (18:22):
I did not go to the Hampton's, but I went
to the beach. I went to Jones Beach.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Oh was it?
Speaker 1 (18:25):
It was? It was so gorgeousyeah, and so like quick, yeah,
it is quick, Like it was like forty minutes on
the train less than on the way back. Okay, when
and well we almost got kidnapped?
Speaker 2 (18:43):
What elaborate?
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Well, we didn't because we're smart, but like if we
weren't smart, we could have been. Okay, but also like
I know that this is the thing that people do,
so like maybe he wasn't going to kidnap us. But
basically we got off the train and the beach was
probably like a ten minute drive away from the train station,
so you can take a bus or you can get
a taxi or whatever, and the bus had like just
(19:07):
left the train station. So we were like, oh, we
just missed the bus and we were like okay, it's fine,
we'll just like call an uber and this like red
car pulls around and they were like twenty five dollars,
I'll bring you to the beach. We were like ollo.
He was like, yeah, twenty five dollars, I'll bring you
straight to the beach. And we were like that's okay.
We called the car already like it's really okay. And
(19:29):
then he like drove down. That was like his like scheme.
He was running. He drove down to these like two
older women and he was like twenty five dollars, I'll
take you to the beach, and they got in and
they were like no, and they were like what and
we were like no, he's not real. And then they
got out of the car and they were like thank you,
and maybe he was just maybe this is side hustle, right,
(19:50):
But like if you're not associated with like uber uber
left a taxi like service, there's like know accountability, like
you could be like kicking yeaheah and killed.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I can't even lie. I mean my friends and I
do that New Orleans like all the time.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Well is that like a thing. Like the people were
like no, okay, it's.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Actually like very dangerous. But like if there's a music
festival or yeah, music festival, then like there'll be like
cars outside being like holding things up, like do you
need a ride?
Speaker 1 (20:23):
And yes, I mean I know people do that, like
the airports and whatever, but I don't know that this
is like a randomly yeah somewhat like not very busy
train station. I mean I think like my group of
like five people probably would have been fine against this
one driver if something had gone wrong. Yeah, but like
you never.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Know, But like I don't really I can't understand, like
why would you not go about it the way? I
guess you get more money if you don't use Uber,
Like if the driver didn't use Uber, right, because they
don't they don't get shit. I actually saw like one
person bought like a sixty dollars Uber and they asked
their driver, like how much money are getting from this
seven dollars? So they canceled it and then just said
(21:03):
I'm gonna pay you the money myself and just drive
me there. And honestly, like my dad has like kind
of taught me, when you're like in those situations, if
you have an Uber on the way there, get their
number and be like pick me up on the way
back and I'll pay you cash.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Well that's what we did. Yeah, our uber on the
way to the beach. Martine. He was so fierce. Yes,
he was so fine. He was like, do you guys
want to play music like at the each day whatever?
We're of course we're playing Bongos Bank Bank and it
was so good. And I was like Martine, like pick
us back up, joking and he was like, okay, what time?
(21:38):
So we got his number. He was like, just text
me like an hour before and I'll come and pick
you up break out the same spot, and he didn't.
It was fabulous. Well, then we were like, how much
would you charge us to like bring us all the
way back to the city likes like downtown Manhattan where
you go there, And he was down like he was
(21:58):
like for sure, but it was like he was going
to charge quite a bit as he like almost like
two hundred dollars, which is fine.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
We're divided by five, but.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Like the train is like ten dollars maybe.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Like we were like, that's all right, my friend's ubered
back from the Hamptons and oh my how much was that?
Oh my goodness, like six hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
No, absolutely, Oh they got it like.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
That not I and I said to fly, I'll be
on the l I will transferring at Jamaica.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
I love the LRIC.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Okay, well, frankly, I had a great time with you guys.
Speaker 1 (22:40):

Speaker 2 (22:40):
This is all over the place, but I kind of
enjoyed that.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
