Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time to go around the room with Elvis Duran
in the Morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
We're about to do a round the Room segment. Usually
do it like an hour from now. Today we're gonna
do two of them because I love them so much
and we had so much fun yesterday. If you don't
know what they around the Room segment is, because you
only listen at this time. Every day, everyone in the
room has a moment to just say something that's on
their mind. It could be, Hey, I heard this great
story I want to share with you, here's a joke

(00:26):
I heard, or here are words to live by And
I don't know. I find it enlightening every single time
we do it, and it's just it's a mix of
just different things and ideas and I like that. And
so today we're asking someone to actually be our special guest.
So we're gonna go to Lauri in Omaha, Nebraska. In
a few minutes. She's our special guests. All right, hit

(00:47):
the music, let's do it. Let's see what's on the
mind to the people in the room. Froggy, I'm gonna
start with you, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
You know a lot of times you will think the
worst of things. And for example, yesterday, the weather forecast
was awful for my event, my charity event yesterday, and
I thought all week last week it was going to
get rained out.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I was so nervous.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
And then yesterday, Elvis, you said, you know what, sometimes
you just have to let go and let things be
what they're going to be and have a positive outlook.
And yesterday it didn't rain and everything went off incredible.
And so I realized that sometimes letting go and just
letting things be and having a positive outlook and thinking
things will turn out the way they're meant to be
and the way they're supposed to be is really the

(01:26):
best thing you can do. And that's what happened. So
thank you allus.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
There are all those things we cannot control, so why
try to control it?

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Some time worrying about things and worrying and worrying and
the things you can't control. And in the end, a
lot of times the things that you really stress out
about the most never end up happening.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
If you just figured out that, you know, if you
stop worrying about these things, when when challenging things roll
your way, you can handle them better absolutely, rather than
freaking out.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
And worrying about things kind of makes them happen a
little uh more often than not.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I think you're right. Oh, I'm worrying about worrying about things. No, okay,
we'll talk Danielle. What's up with you?

Speaker 5 (02:04):
So?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I love telling you when I've read a good book.
So Deanna suggested this book to me, and it was
so good I read it in two days. I could
not put it down. It's called The Crash by Freedom McFadden.
And yes, you know, I buy the book and I
listen on audible because I do both. It's about a
pregnant woman who's looking for some kind of refuge in

(02:25):
a remote cabin during a blizzard, and she finds out
that her hosts have a little bit of a sinister agenda.
It is cool, incredible. Again, it's called The Crash Freedom McFadden.
You are gonna love it. Pick it up or listen
to it however you do your books. You know, it's funny,
so good.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I love the term sinister sinisters is so many things?
Give me? Hey, what's up straight?

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Eight?

Speaker 6 (02:52):
Okay, So you know a lot of us on the
show have had health problems, right, I know Froggy's had
how many aneurysms now two, three, four, I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
One brain zimmer.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
There you go. I've had a couple of strokes, two
heart surgeries. Here's my advice. If you're ever unfortunately diagnosed
with something, listen to your doctors, but also do your
best to find somebody that has had the same issue.
I just saw a text roll by, and I know
several people have reached out to me saying they're having
open heart surgery, and it's always good to talk to
somebody that's gone through what you're about to go through.

(03:25):
Because doctors, as great as they are, they've never been
through an open heart surgery, most of them, so they
don't know exactly what you're going to be going through.
So do your best, try and find somebody, reach out
to them, and I guarantee they'll be very happy to
talk to you about their experience and let you know
what to be looking out for in woods in store
for you.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
So there you go.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
Hopefully you never have to take that advice, but if
you are in that situation, just do what I say.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
You're in the club together though you're in the heart
desad club. Yeah, Froggy's in the aneurysm club. I don't
mean to laugh. Is that you understand that he's like
people all drive jeeps and wave at each other. It's
a club. It's absolutely What's I'm scary. I'm in a dilemma.

Speaker 7 (04:07):
I see these videos going by of everyone going to
the Sabrina Carpenter show at the Garden. She's in the
middle of playing five shows here tonight being night two,
and I really want to go to see her. Here's
the thing, nobody I know my age wants to go
with me, because I'm a grown ass man.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
Now. You know you guys.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Always say, hey, do it on your own, just go,
just be by yourself. Nobody cares. That's what I'm saying.
This is a bad, bad situation because if I want
to and show up, do it, I definitely do. Stop
thinking about what Daniel. Don't tell him not to do it.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Sitting in between a dad and his daughters, and everyone's
gonna be looking at him like a good time. But
the dabble, the dad's gonna say, don't go near that guy.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Exactly what a freedom? What's scary?

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Do you want his daughter coming near you anyway?

Speaker 8 (04:55):
No?

Speaker 7 (04:56):
No, But the thing is, I just want to go
and see the show, buy a ticket in piece and hang.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
But the thing is, this is one of those things.
I don't think I.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
Should go to a loan.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
You know, you know you still have tenure by yourself.

Speaker 6 (05:05):
Go to the seat.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I mean, the fact that we spend this much time
on it is very telling. You shouldn't be thinking about it.
Don't give it another thought. If you want to enjoy
a Sabrina Carpenter concert, go it doesn't look go it
will look awkward. You're problem. Who cares what it looks like.
By the way, keep in mind, no one's looking at
you there. No one's saying good away from that creepy
old man. Believe me, they're not doing it. They're not

(05:28):
doing it. They're not doing it. Don't don't drive you
white man. There the sound the soundproof man at home?

Speaker 6 (05:36):
Where is it look like you work?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Okay? Stop I don't mean to be mean and saying this.
Stop thinking people give a crap. Stop thinking people really
really care because they do and duct tape at home
they don't. Don't listen to Danielle Daniell is bad.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Stop it.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Danielle, all right, you're gonna all right, well, listen to her.
Then I think that's really great advice. God, Scotty Bee
is here, Scotty, what's on your mind to This is
not going to be as deep as yesterday. And I
know exactly what Elvis is going to say when I
say this, But does anyone in this room know how
much a stamp is currently?

Speaker 4 (06:14):
I know.

Speaker 9 (06:16):
What it's seventy eight cents. Yes, I went to I
Wish to get a I was out of stamps. I
went to the post office because I had to send
Froggy his birthday card. And it was seventy eight cents.
And you know, they changed the rates so often now
that they don't even print the numbers on the stamps anymore.
They're only forever stamps. You can't get one that says
seventy eight cents. Wow, And that's crazy. I know, you know,

(06:36):
seventy eight cents to send something from here to California.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
What a deal? I know that's a bargain. Seven eight
cents to take my letter to California?

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Remember when they were a quarter?

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Wait?

Speaker 9 (06:47):
Can I add something about the post office which drove
me crazy? Also, so it's not a shipping center. This
is not a ups store. The post office is where
you take your package that's ready to go, and you
ship it. This dude was in there with golf clubs
and he was packing it up and he was holding
up the entire line and it drove me insane. So
just bring your ready to go package to the post office.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Amen. Uh gandhi, what's up with you today?

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Mine is pretty much the opposite of Danielle's. It's not
a book that's gonna make you feel better about life
or even enrich you in any way. I saw the
trailer for a movie I think we should all see.
It is called Kracoon, and it is about exactly what
you think it is. It's based on true story, by
the way, about people who discarded some drugs in the

(07:31):
woods back in Ohio and a raccoon got into it. Now,
of course, here's where it different is this raccoon loses
its mind and attacks people and it becomes, you know,
a bloody rampage. You can watch it on screen box.
I have zero vested interest in this, but I was
watching the trailer. I showed Danielle and she was like,
oh my god.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
It's like a stuffed animal and they put it on
its neck and it's the raccoon's attacking.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
That's how bad.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
I don't think I could get enough of it.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
It's a raccoon the name of racoon a movie. I'm
gonna start calling people crack use crack cooon. Get out.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
I think we have finally found a better consultant. Hag,
what a krackoon, I'm using.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
It, I'm using I'm a bar it again, craccoon? See
you today.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
And now our special guest Laurie calling you from Omaha, Nebraska.
She wants to be a part of the around the Room. Hi, Laurie,
welcome to the show. Well, Martin, thank you, well, thanks
for being all right, so you you know how this works.
What's on your mind today, Lurie?

Speaker 8 (08:31):
I want to know do you have to get a
baby gift every time a coworker has a baby.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
Or just for the first week.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Like a coworker, do you have like a baby machine
working in the office with you?

Speaker 5 (08:47):
People had his tenth tenth tenth baby.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
We're on a team of about fifteen people, so every
dyom time someone has a baby, they're we're being asked
to pony up.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
No, yeah, do you give them one big gift together?
Like does everyone put in a little something?

Speaker 8 (09:12):
Well, Yeah, everyone goes in and they say, oh, it's anonymous. Normal.
Ill no, if you give or don't give. But there's
only fifteen people, so you know, if everyone gives ten dollars,
you don't get one hundred.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
And fifty dollars. Yeah, I think I think you're in.
I don't know, that's just me. I think ten babies
geez uh, Yeah, I don't know. What do you guys think?

Speaker 6 (09:31):
Have you actually seen these babies? Is this a ruse
putting this stuff up on Eva?

Speaker 5 (09:39):
No?

Speaker 4 (09:39):
I think ten babies is ludicrous. I don't need to
give a gift again.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
This person should have everything.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, yeah, ten of them, precisely.

Speaker 8 (09:48):
Yes, And I only have dogs. I've never had a
baby shower. So I feel like I'm being you know,
churned for money that i'll never see.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Yeah, I feel well, I don't know, is this guy
gonna have more babies? I mean, here's what I would do.
I would say, hey, here's something, it's great. It's gonna
be a great hand me down when you have your
next kid. So at least you know, the eleventh baby comes,
you're you're covered. You're not gonna give anything.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I'd give him a contraceptive.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Kids like most of the time, if you have like
a boy and then you have a girl next, maybe
you would have a little sprinkle shower, that's what they
call it. Or if you had like but if you
have the same sex like you, like we said, you
have everything. So I feel like if they have no.

Speaker 8 (10:32):
All right, well I'm also okay with an oops baby,
so like if you have a baby here, but then
eight years later you're like, oops, well you don't have
any baby stuff anymore. So I'm fine with them.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Up to you should get together and give him a second.

Speaker 8 (10:47):
You should do.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Here, you hold him down, give me thee I well,
thank you. That's a very good point, Laurie. I keep listening.
I'm sure people are gonna start texting and answers for you,
God bless you. But they're asking for ten dollars to contry.

Speaker 8 (11:00):
Is that it? Yeah, they don't give an him out,
but that I figured that's fair.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Okay, ten dollars.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
I mean if you can do it, you know.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
If you can, I mean, eventually they're gonna stop, aren't they.
I don't know. Really not crazy? Oh, good luck, Loriie,
hold on one second, Laurie. Yeah, that's a good one.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
With Cannon.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Oh my god, yeah, I stopped giving him baby shower
gifts a long time ago. And there you go around
the room, thank you for participating, Laurie. Let's do this
again in an hour, can we do
