Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time to go around the room with Elvis Duran
in the Morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Let's go around the room. I don't see what you're
in your mind? And then Garrett has some sound around
the room. What a busy day? Did we have more
guests coming in? I think we're good. Oh yeah, we're good.
More cheeseburgers come in? I hope, so, oh my god,
that was so good. Daniye all want to start with you.
What's on your mind today? All right?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
So yesterday I ate one of my favorite snacks, which
is those snap peas. I think that's what they're called.
If you ever had them in the little bag, and
they're so they're delicious. And then I have the cheddar
harvest flavor, delicious. I ate the whole bag. I thought
it was one serving. Later on I looked at the bag.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
It's three servings. I was like, oh, I didn't realize
at least it was ten serving.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Oh, but the bag's not very big. It should be
one serving.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
So I have like a bone to pick with this
company because that there should be one serving, not three servis.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
You love that when you read the serving size, it's
like three beans. There's a serving?

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Whoa no uh huh, so good though you had them
harvest cheddar Oh my gosh, because you.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Think it's not bad.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
You're like, oh, this is great.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Sixty calories, oh for serving and the serving as four crackers.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Damn it.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
No, that's the problem.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Hey, Nate, what's up? Does anybody know who wim Hoff is? Now?
Who's you know? Explained wim Hoff.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
He's the guy that does all the cold plunges and
explores how to change your mind and your thinking in
your body at eight to him.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Follow him, to him, wim Hoff. Cold is a construct
of the mind. You can train your mind to overcome
the cold on your body. I am doing it myself.
I walked around yesterday in short set of T shirt
in this forty forty three weather outside, and you know what,
if you tell yourself it's not cold, it's not cold. Okay,

(01:44):
I'm following him. I know him, him Hoff. We gotta
have him on the show. He's got three and a
half million followers. Yes, yeah, but it's your mind is
in charge.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
So he does this retreat where you go you sit
in cold plunges. The end of it, you climb a
mountain in shorts and boots in the middle of winter,
come in here in his underwear. I hope, so me too,
do it. Let's go for a hike today. Let's go
for a walk in New York City in just our shorts,
no shirts. Okay, well, keep in mind of this is
not like a cold plunge. It's it's not that cold.

(02:14):
It's not cold. It's not cold. Tell you so? Where
them off?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
At three point four million followers on Instagram whim haff
following I knew I knew that guy like him, but
mind over matter exactly Duran.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
To a point man ant with no shirt and jacket.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Will I'll pick it off right now? Well, I wish
I had the power of whim Hoff.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
Yesterday I was in the Veterans Day Parade and it
was must have been about twenty degrees that's what it
felt like. But I was there with my dad and
his friends on the float under the Wounded Warriors Project,
and I gotta tell you, thank you for everybody who
came out.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
There were so many, There were hundreds and hundreds and
hundreds of people. Look you look great up there on
the float. Thank you. We even made it on TV.
It was it was.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
It was an awesome day. The smile on my dad's face.
You know what I just that was? That was it
for me?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
That scary.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
He of course represented with his dad. I'm sure you're
so proud to be there with his dad, your dad
and his friends. But he did post online look smile
for the camera. So the float's going by and all
these veterans, you know, they don't really know what a
camera is or where it is. Scary story right in
the camera.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah, I wanted my close up. I was ready for TV.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
But anyway, no, but it was really cold out there,
and there was so many onlookers and posters, and it
was the support that you get back.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Even though I was I never served personally.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
I was happy for the people that did serve because
I was on the float with them and I'm like
they're waving at me that thank you for your services,
and I'm like, I didn't do anything. Thank you for
your service a service, not personally.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
His friends did.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I think it's awesome. We're so proud of you for
being up there. Yeah, he's scary. He didn't serve personally.
Thank you for your services. Hey pretty sure, Sam? How
are you today?

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Oh I'm better after that around the room. Thank you scary.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
You know how they say, fine joy in the little things.
I think I need to scale it back. I think
I need to search for only slightly bigger things. Because
yesterday I was cooking an early dinner and there was
a clove of garlic that I unraveled, and that thing
was almost the size of my palm.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
She sent me a photo.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
I sent you a photo because.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
We were texting. I'm like, you gotta see this. I
saved it for my husband to come home just to
look at it.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
That wasn't it wasn't elepant garlic.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
No, that's why it was so amazing. I always cook
with garlic, it doesn't matter what I'm making. He was like, cool,
I'm all right. I guess I'll save it to cook
with tomorrow. Like, why didn't I just cook with the garlic.
I was so excited about that giant clove of garlic.
I'm like, the think of taking these little joys too far.
I almost named it. I loved it so much, but
Elvis was like.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
That's name that garlic art. You called it art. I
appreciated it. Gondhy, Hello, what's up.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Well, Today's Wednesday, So that means there's a new episode
on my podcast.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Okay, I just say yes.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
For the record, this could be one of the strangest,
most entertaining podcasts you've ever done.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
This guy's out of his mind. Yeah, we know him.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
You guys do know him. His name's Carril, also known
as the slut Whisperer, and he apparently designed the old
logo here for you guys. Yes, but I met him
at a party and he has a fascinating story which
made me think of Kyle and his conversation about the
podcast and my favorite quote from Bill Nye, which is,
everybody you will ever meet knows something that you do not,
So have a conversation when you can, because you could

(05:22):
learn so much from so many people, including our friend
the slut Whisper.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
What does the slut whisper mean like sluts, Daniel?

Speaker 3 (05:29):
He listen listen closely. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
So he sort of popped onto the scene at the
beginning of social media. It was one of the first
adopters and he was one of those guys when it
was still acceptable who was throwing champagne on people. And
he's crazy parties.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
That's scary looks up to those, I have no doubt.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah, he has an interesting story so Sauce.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
On the Slide podcast. It's amazing. I guess you haven't
rolled it through there.

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
