Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time to go around the room with Elvis Duran
in the morning show on the.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Room we go because it's my favorite part of the day.
I will start with you, CONDI, what's going.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
On all right?
Speaker 4 (00:09):
If you are feeling stuck mentally, and a lot of
people are right now because the holiday has caused that,
you know, paralysis analysis, you have so much going on,
get up and take a walk. That is one of
the best things that you can do to reset your
brain and reset your frame of mind. Even when we're
in here in the morning. If you are feeling like,
oh man, I just need some different inspiration, walk around.
It increases blood flow to your brain, It helps you
(00:29):
breathe better. It's important. Steve Jobs used to do it
all the time. When he couldn't come up with an idea,
he would get up take a ten minute walk. So
I highly recommend doing it for everyone. And we all
need to move around a lot more than we are
actually moving, especially here in the morning, So take a walk.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I think I may leave for a walk right now. Bye, okay, bye, okay,
what's going on? Producer Sam?
Speaker 5 (00:50):
I want to mention my two favorite, well two of
my favorite moments from Friday jingle Ball, and it happened
at the pre show, and both of them involve Scary Jones.
So I went on stage to give out a pair
of jingle Ball tickets, which felt amazing, and I was
told stay on stage because the boys will join you after.
So I finished giving them away, I made an announcement.
I turned around and I said hi to literally no one,
(01:11):
and I see Scary and a couple of other people
chatting backstage as I'm still on stage waiting for them
to join me, and I was just being the mic
hell out guys.
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Hell, hey, yeah, we didn't get out cue.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Sorry translation, they were not paying attention.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
One of the two.
Speaker 6 (01:29):
That's one.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
The second one happened moments later when Scary was on
stage handing out tickets. He said that he likes effort
put into signs people who brought, you know, signs to
jingle Ball, which makes a lot of sense, But what
he had to do was deliver trauma when he pointed
to literally the youngest boy in the crowd and said,
you didn't even put any effort.
Speaker 6 (01:47):
Into it, you don't get the ticket.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
And this kid was like twelve, and his sign on
cardboard said my first jingle ball.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Scary, He wrote a cardboard box and Penn wrote, give
me jingle ball tickets.
Speaker 6 (01:58):
I'm like, that does not get.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
You a child and said my first jingle baw got
to learn sometimes some people not to work into their signs.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
You were with the need to be called out.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
You gotta learn the school of hard knocks.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
And you know what, and that's why you're here to
teach him the school of a hard knocks. Thank God
for you plan better? Okay, my lord, hey straight night,
what's up with you today?
Speaker 7 (02:27):
In New York City when it snows, you are legally required,
if you own the building, to create a four foot
path on the sidewalk so people can get by, and
nobody follows that rule. You are walking around today and
it is nothing but crusty ice and old stomp down snow.
So please, if you're walking around in New York City
checking out the holiday decorations, be careful.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
You go a slip and fall, and then you've made
it called top dog laws.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
All right, Please be careful, amen, topdog law dot com
check him out.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Hey us scary, what's up with you today?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Well, we've heard this story time and time again from
artists who were once watching the show and then they become,
you know, part of the All Axis Lounges pre show
and then they hit the main stage. People like you know,
the Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga, They've all told the story.
My favorite clip was watching Conan Gray from the crowd
going crazy in twenty twenty three, watching Olivia Rodrigo on
(03:25):
stage and here he was one of the headliners of
this jingle ball.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
Dreams do come true, folks. It was awesome to see.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
That, to see that because I remembered that, and they
put that throwback clip up online over the weekend.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
Kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Wow, that was That's so cool to see see all
these artists do that and Conan great.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
Look at that. The School of hard Knocks didn't hit
him that hard, did it. Hey, he earned it, you
work for it, you get it. Here you go, Danielle,
I'm around the room to you.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
I would like to thank especially Diamond, but a lot
of the people like Andrew and people that were behind
the scenes at the ZE one hundred single Ball, because
for me, I wanted to meet Melsey so bad and
tell her how much I appreciated her book and what
it meant to me. And I was on stage at
the time that she came back and died and found
(04:14):
a way one to get my book signed, but to
kmar there until I got back there. And when I
got back, she was still there waiting for me. And
it was so sweet. And so everybody who made that happen,
thank you. You guys are the best.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
Wow, look at that. It was a great night. It
was awesome.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Hey, so we're gonna go to Froggy now as we
go around the room, and this is about Footy.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
You know, Footy.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Did Why one hundred morning show in Miami from the
nineteen seventies until two thousand and six when we took over,
and that's it was because of Footy employing Froggy that
Froggy is with us today and we have him to
thank for that. But Froggy Footy passed away over the
weekend and Froggy knew him very well. Go ahead, tell
(04:56):
the Footy story. This is great he did.
Speaker 8 (04:58):
I worked with him from two thousand in two until
two thousand and six when I started with you guys,
and we started on Y one hundred and Miami, and
he had been there since nineteen seventy four, so for
thirty two years he woke up Miami. He was on
the radio every day and started his athlete's foot as
he was named Footy.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
He did sports.
Speaker 8 (05:16):
And outside of outside of the radio, he was a
philanthropist and he did a lot. He did a whole
lot for the community of Miami. He ran a drug
rehab center called Here's Help that still runs today, helping
youth who have lost their way get back into society
and helping them get a job at educating them.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
And it was a full on like that.
Speaker 8 (05:38):
You live there, you go to school there, they employed,
they taught, it was It was really an amazing place
to go there and see what he had built there.
And so he left the world a much much better
place than where he found it. And he really was
just a good person. He was great to me. I
was twenty seven years old when I met Footy, had
the pleasure of working with him, like I said, for
(06:01):
from two thousand and two to two thousand and six,
but our friendship carried on. I spent a lot of
time with him and his sons, and how much he
had done there in South Florida. And so the takeaway
from this is that I know that he knows what
an amazing impact he had on so many people community,
whether it was through the radio or through his working
sit Here's help, and through just the people he came
(06:23):
in contact with, the way he treated people, the way
he made you feel. And just let people know in
your life how important they are, how good they are
for you, how good they are for society, and the
things that they do. Because don't wait until it's too
late to let them know. Because now I'd give anything
to be able to tell him one more time what
I felt about him, how I felt about him, what
(06:44):
he did for me, the lasting impact he made on
my family and the community that he worked and lived in.
But don't wait until it's too late. Footy, God bless you.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Man.
Speaker 8 (06:52):
I know you're racing boats and racing cars up in
the sky and you're at that casino, and I put
it all on seven and let it ride.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
Man. I just I miss you. I love you.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Awesome Footy, the character Footy. So if you're listening to
us on Y one hundred point seven, you know Footy
was such a major, major, major part of the heritage
of this radio station, which is in and of itself
a heritage radio station. This is a very important radio
station we're on in Miami. Very important. We hadd awo
point seven. You know, we changed a little bit to
remind you where on the spectrum we lie and he Footy.
(07:25):
I tell you what, taking over this show from Footy
was a frightening thing because he was so deeply, deeply
connected to the community in Miami and Fort Lauderdale in
South Florida. They were like, they were like, are you
really want to do that? You want to take over
for Footy? You're stupid, no do it. But you know what,
he was so supportive to us, and he said, hey, hey,
(07:47):
I had a great run at HY one hundred. Let
these guys do their thing. They're gonna they're gonna do
a great job. And he was awesome. So when you
when you wake up to your favorite shows every day
here and there different shows, not only ours, but I'm
sure you listen around.
Speaker 6 (08:02):
That's what normal people do, you know what.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
We are here to have a good time and just
kind of you know, tell fart jokes and do whatever
we do. But we're also here to serve you the community.
That's what we're supposed to do. We're actually licensed by
the federal government. That's why we can't say the F word,
but it is our duty to come in here and
take care of you. You know, whether it's just getting
you to work every day and with a smile on
(08:27):
your face, or if there's an emergency in the community,
we're here to take care of that. And Footy was
just you know, he was a leader, and we're so
so so proud that we could we could take the
range from him and keep it going. So to Footy,
raise your glass.
Speaker 8 (08:42):
He used to end every show with have yourselves a
great day, because I know I'm gonna That's how he
ended everything.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
We love you, Footy,
