Speaker 1 (00:12):
What's going on, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of
Point Game. I'm CJ. Toldano alongside my co host Isaiah Thomas,
and this week we're gonna preview Christmas Day games, my
favorite time of the year, and of course we're gonna
talk a little bit of an NBA Hall of Fame.
But first it everyone who's been follwing you on socials
saw that you were back in Boston. It feels like
(00:33):
they're showing you a lot of love this season, So
just tell us what was going on out there. It
looked like a lot of fun. It's just great to
see you in that in that arena as well.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
It was dope. It was a cool little time. Me
and my wife went out there. The Celtics. I brought
us out there for they're doing like some legendary moments
things throughout the year of you know, dope moments throughout
I guess guys careers. So we played they they had
brought me out to honor me for the fifty two
(01:01):
point game against Miami Heat years back, a deep tree,
and then they happened to play the Miami Heat, you know,
the other day, So.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
It was pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
It was dope to just like, that's my first time
really being in that arena as a fan, which is crazy,
you know, like that's one of my first times sitting
down and watching the game like a fan. It was
super dope, the love they showed me and my wife.
I got to be next to the new owner like
he was super cool, So the the atmosphere was dope.
(01:43):
Being back in Boston obviously is always cool.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
The love is amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
One thing I want to do though, maybe even later
on this season, is bring my kids back because they
haven't been in a minute, and for them to experience
that type of love at this age would be super dope.
So shout out to the Celtics, man, shout out to
the to the community all. We did a community event
(02:09):
out there too. It was dope.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
We went to a local high school and.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Did a community event just to bring back old times. Man.
In case anybody didn't know, back in twenty seventeen, we
won the NBA Community Assist Award. So anytime I'm back
in Boston, we try to do work in the community
because it's just it's only right. So it was it
was a dope moment for myself, for my wife obviously,
(02:37):
for my family and my time in Boston.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
So shout out to the Celtics for making that haven.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
That's dope and it's obviously much deserved. But you know,
and people posting on social and stuff. I even saw you.
You had quote Tweeter like just sign you already, and
I think I speak for everybody like that'd be dope
to see you get back in that uniform.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Look, it's only right. It's like, man, it makes sense,
just sign me for they ended it, Let me go
out on my own. I help in the locker room.
If you want to play me, I'm ready and I
can definitely help. But if not, it's all good.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
We see all the social posts people are commenting that
as well, so it's not it's not us even trying
to just you know.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
The people know.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
It just makes sense all sides though, playing side business
side is bringing in more brand for you all of that.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
What were there any stories of because obviously we see
the people commenting, We see all the awesome videos and content,
but like, what are people saying to you as you're
just you know, walking in that arena, walking through the
city of Boston, you know, visiting your old spots, Like
are people pulling you aside and just telling you, like
how much of the time you spent there meant to them.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah, it's it's crazy, like you would I always speak
about it, but you would think like I want a
championship there. You would think I want MVP there, Like
anytime I go to Boston. It's crazy. I'm not paying
for nothing. It's like, it's like this time was obviously
like every other time, I just happened to be in
the arena and like it just was. It put a
(04:06):
smile on my face and put a small on my
wife's face. I sent all the pictures in the video
to my parents like that was. It was dope for
my family in general. That's why at some point I
got to bring the kids back so they can experience that,
cause it's it's crazy. My oldest son said that, like
a couple of weeks ago. He was like, man, I wish,
(04:27):
you know, I wish I was this age, you know,
when you was on top of the league, just to
experience that. And I was like, man, if we can
only go back and you could be this age like
that would probably be you know, super cool.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
For them to be able to experience that.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Well, they have to be scrolling and see the highlights
and the edits people were making like what they see it.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
They know what it is, they know, but they don't
give me my like they be hating on me too,
like they don't think they don't think.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
I was that dude at all. But it's all good,
Like it's that's how it's supposed to be.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
My son and I'm not an a player, but my son,
I'll be like, oh, I play pick up the other
day and my my son just very seriously, he's four
years old and just go and you're bad at basketball.
And I'm like, because he knows I work, you know,
I work with pro affics, And he's like, if you
love basketball that much, how can we're not a pro
basketball player. And it's just, you know, these kids say
the darkness things and.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Say they say some funny things. This is crazy, but
it's it's cool for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
It's cool. Okay, let's get into Christmas Day games because
this is one of my favorite times here, like you know,
for me at least, and a lot of fans out there.
Obviously Christmas traditions, but the biggest Christmas tradition to me
outside of spending time with family and opening presents and
giving presents is just turn on the TV and just
getting a whole slate of games. You know, very special,
meaningful matchouts like team you know, the best teams play
(05:46):
against each other. It just there's it's not Christmas Day
unless these games are happening. So wanted to go through
some of the big ones, get your thoughts and predictions.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
The first one we talked about it you actually you've
played in a Christmas Day game, So I wanted to
get your thoughts on what that day and that what
that game, how special was compared to other games? And
you actually played an MSG and remind everyone what was that?
What was that game? Like I think what was it?
Twenty seventeen, sixteen sixteen?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Okay sixteen, Yeah, now we played in MSG. It was
it was like a dream of mine that came true.
Like as a kid, like you just said, like, I'm
in basketball. I love the game of basketball, so I'm
watching it every day. So as a kid, I'm locked in, Like, yeah,
I want to open my presence, but I want to
watch who too. I want to watch Michael Jordan on
(06:36):
Christmas Day. I want to watch Kobe Bryant. Like those
type of guys. So as a kid growing up, that
was a dream of mine. So my first chance we
got I was on the Celtics. We played the New
York Knicks in New York on Christmas. Like we woke
up in New York on Christmas. That's obviously like a
dream of everybody's as well. So it was just the
(06:57):
whole moment, the whole day. I took it in. I
have my boys at the game, like we was walking
through the tunnels. You know, it's really Christmas Day. I
think we were the first the first game too. We
happen to win that game I played. I played solid
like it was a pretty good game and we won
on Christmas. So it was like and then it was
Boston versus New York. You know how that little rivalry is, like,
(07:18):
so you couldn't beat it, Like even though it was Christmas,
it was dope for the family, Like that was an
amazing moment for myself, Like to be in Madison Square
Garden playing on Christmas, being you know, the franchise guy
playing on Christmas. It's a little different when you're that
guy as well, So it was super dope. And then
(07:39):
the next year I actually was hurt when I was
on the Cows, but we were in we were in
Golden State. We played the Warriors on Christmas Day. And
then years later I was on the Lakers. We played
I think we might have played the Brooklyn Nets. We
played somebody on Christmas Day. I didn't get in the game.
I got a DMP. But it's still it's still dope
(08:01):
to be able to play or be able to suit
up on Christmas and you know the world's watching. So
I've had a few little experiences that's been really cool
for sure.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Reminder, in that next game, you had twenty seven. You
guys got the dub. But I also want to bring
back because I was looking at footage of it. You
guys were rocking the Christmas uniforms back when the NBA
I used to do the Christmas uniforms. And I know
we're constantly like NBA listen to us, listen to fan
like go back, and I think the Celtics one and
(08:34):
I'm a Lakers fan, so it hurts me to say this.
The Celtics ones are perfect because they're the green with
that white cursive. That's what I had that year.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Those are so dope.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Those are so dope and I had the red head
band on that gay so oh it was. It was
I don't even like red like that, but it only
made sense to wear the green and the red. It was,
and I had some dope Kobe's on, like the whole
the whole setup was amazing, like walking in the locker
room Christmas d Jersey, like you dream of that as
a kid, Like that was everything, Like even Christmas Day,
(09:06):
the All Star Game.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Gotta go back to wearing your own team jersey.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yes, like all of that type of stuff is just
like as a kid, that was like that was everything.
So for me to experience those moments as a player,
like the whole day, I had a smile on my face.
And then the New York game on top of that,
it's so early. We got back to Boston in time
to celebrate Christmas anyway, so it was it was all
(09:31):
the way around. It was cool for my family.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Bro Okay, so bring back the Christmas Jrese. It wasn't broke.
Why fix it?
Speaker 3 (09:38):
You know?
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Even with the little snowflake hit, I don't think it
was on yours.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Know, we had it on they like it was.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
It was perfect, Like they gotta bring back the Christmas
Day jerseys. It just makes it just that much better. Okay, Okay,
I got my shorts. I'm a shorts collector, so I
got I got a couple of teams Christmas Day shorts.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
All right, might have to mock some up.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
We might.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
We I t you gotta you gotta get us a
pitch meeting with Adam Silver. Will go in there, We'll
walk up some designs. We'll get these Christmas uniforms back
make the day. It's special already, but these are the
small things that made it even more special. And like
watching especially like it's a highlight. Like people are watching
old footage they see the Christmas uniforms, like, oh yeah,
it was special.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
It's only right.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
It's a Christmas it should be one of one, Like
it should be a jersey you don't get unless you're
on one of the adult teams or you're one of those guys.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Yeah, okay, all right. Going into the current slate, Knicks
Calves are playing at MSG. I think the Knicks are
probably in the best shape, uh there that I've seen
them in the last few years. You know, especially with
a week in the East. Jalen Brunson is going crazy.
You know, they just won the Cup. The Calves, on
(10:49):
the other hand, are a little bit struggling, but I
feel like they're they're starting to feel like they're have
a chip on their shoulder. Who do you got going
into this game? You know, because I feel like even
the opposing team they come into like this MSG, they
get almost more motivated to take this dub. So who
do you got on Christmas Day next versus Calves?
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Man, it's tough Christmas Day games because everybody knows the
world's watching. You want to have a good game, you
want to show out. So I definitely I got the
Knicks winning that. But don't put it past the Calves
and Donovan Mitchell putting it on a Christmas Day show
to start the day off, right, So but I got
I got the Knicks in that, And as you said,
(11:26):
those guys have been playing a lot better. It seemed
like they've been yelling a lot a lot better as well,
So we'll see.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
But I got the Knicks.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yeah, this is that. That is easily. It's now we're
starting to get into the territory where these games are
really starting to matter, and I feel like that is
a preview to the playoffs essentially. So both teams are
going to go in, they're not gonna take off, and yeah,
I just feel like the Calves are people are starting
to talk about them of like what happened to them,
like oh, we gotta trade or whatever, Like we're getting
close to this trade deadline too, so guys are gonna
(11:56):
start playing like it's not me, you should be traded,
don't shit me out. So it's gonna be it's gonna
be interesting. The next one that I'm really excited about.
We spent a few a few minutes on the last
pod Spurst Thunder. It's already the match of the rematch
is already happening here. So I feel like the Thunder,
maybe they came in that last game. They came out
and we're like, oh, yeah, we're no one's you know,
(12:18):
one team has beat us this whole season, so maybe
they came in not as prepared, but now they know
who the Spurs really are, so victim Weinberyama actually had
forty two and eighteen last last year. And then actually
it's sg's first Christmas game, and so like that's I
think it's also a part of when players are like
trying to build a legacy, trying to become iconic. They
got to have that Christmas performance. So who do you
(12:40):
think is going to come out? What players are gonna
come out on Christmas Days? First Thunder, it's in okac
and that's one of the craziest amaenas in year.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
That's like a college atmosphere, and they're gonna remember that
last loss. So I'm gonna go with SGA's first Christmas
Day game. He's gonna show out. Winby's gonna do it,
saying like it's gonna be a great game. But I
got okay see, just because the home court advantage like that,
that crowd is really different in terms of their consistency
(13:09):
no matter who they're playing. But for it to be
on Christmas in Okay see, when's the last time they
had a Christmas Day game? Okay see, probably when KD
and those guys was there. So it's like it's it's
it's gonna be it's gonna be some good energy.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
But I got okay see winning that one.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, I just think you know, they played in Vegas
the last time they were playing against each other for
the Cup. But okay see, like I would say, okay
sees home arena that is a factor for sure. And
I might even think SGA, like I said, like this,
we are we got all these like oh MJ on
Christmas or Luke on Christmas, but like SGA has yet
(13:50):
to give us that Christmas performance. So I think you
might go for fifty five.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
That's fifty five.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Oh my, I mean, listen, he's getting close to that
and not even playing for fourty quarters.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
I feel you, I mean to each his own fifty five.
You must know something, you must know something.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
We aren't sponsored by betting channel, but I don't.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah, you know something, fifty five? That's okay, I see u,
s GA. You gotta get it. You gotta get to
it then early.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Yeah, yeah, okay. Moving on MAVs Warriors. Cooper Flag, who's
been he's been playing, He's been playing like the star
of that team. He's actually going to be the youngest
player to play on Christmas since Lebron in two thousand. Okay,
and they're playing the Warriors, and we know they've been
struggling a little bit. So who do you got, MAVs Warriors?
Speaker 3 (14:35):
I got Warriors.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
It's okay, like Curry on Christmas, he's gonna be locked
in Dallas. You don't know which team you're gonna get
with that group, So it's gonna be hopefully Flag does
show out, but it is It is a little bit
of nerves when you play in your first Christmas that game.
And he's the youngest since Lebron, so I'm not expecting
(14:57):
a lot out of him.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, but you never know.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
This is where those young players go. I'm serious, like
you need to need to worry about me. So it's
a perfect match.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
I mean, the world's watching, so it's a good opportunity
to do your thing. But I got I got the
Warriors on that.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Okay, next one Rockets Lakers, which is interesting. I don't
know if Rockets playing on Christmas Day doesn't really it
hasn't been a while, but I feel like Kadi Lebron.
This is one of those throwbacks. This is like early
twenty tens Christmas Day game. But we get Kadi versus Lebron,
and of course Luca's been playing crazy and then Alprinston,
(15:35):
Goude and I'm and Thompson make their Christmas debut. So
who do you got? Rockets Lakers?
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I got Lakers on that. It's in LA and for show. Yeah, yeah,
I got Lakers. On that just because Luca Luca Magic,
he gonna get to it. Reeves is probably gonna have
a thirty or forty piece. Obviously, Kd's doing his thing.
Christmas Day versus Lebron, Oh, that's all that's that's all
the motivation they need. So they're going to be at it.
(16:00):
Lebron's ground probably have a good showing. But I got
in l A Yeah, in La, I got, I got,
I got, I got the leg show, I hope.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
So, but I'm gonna play Devil's advocate here KD. And
you know better than anybody. KD takes these things personally.
He like, I think he called himself the Grinch in
an interview, So he's gonna want to know.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
He gotta meet You're supporting cast. Have they played on Christmas? Right? Right?
Reed Shepherd?
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Have you played on Christmas? All of them like Toms
and Twins, I love I love him? Has he played
on Christmas? That's You're gonna have to sit down on
Luca in front of the whole world. Bro, we gonna see, like,
I hope it's a good game. I got the Lakers
just the fan of me. I'm a I'm a Laker
fan too, so I got the Lakers, but I'm not
putting it past the Rockets. Obviously they got KD and
(16:48):
we know what he's capable of doing for sure.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Okay, last one, we got Wolves at Nuggets. Uh, their
meeting on Christmas for the first time. Obviously, this was
a crazy series last season. So and I think that, honestly,
the Nuggets are playing like their old cells right now.
And then the Wolves have always been just like flirting
with are they gonna is this there finally their year?
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Or so?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Who you got Wolves at Nuggets ant clause.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
This is what I got.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
I got Wolves gonna win that, right, But I got
I got Joker having a triple double.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Obviously a crazy triple double.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
The only reason why I got Minnesota winning is because
Aaron Gordon is out. I think he's a big piece
to that matchup. And also shout out the Bones Highland man.
He's been doing his thing lately with Minnesota, and it's Christmas.
If he gets in and he's putting on the show
against his former team, against his former team, and they
(17:44):
obviously Edward's gonna go. The whole world's watching, so he's
gonna put on the show. I got Minnesota Timberwolves.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
And a reminder that this was a really cool story
that we can revisit later. But Ant was the one
who was like, we need to re sign Bones. So
it's cool that for moments like this when you're playing
you know one of his older teams, his former teams
who sort of you know, traded him, and he's gonna
have a chip on his shoulder. So that's a that's
a good call out, Like watch this game.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
And it's gonna be like, man, put him in, like
let him get to it that they seem like they
got that type of relationship. So like I said, shout
out the Bones Highland, he been doing his thing Christmas
Day game. I know he got that circled on his calendar.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
That's dope. All right, Well, everyone listening to Point Game, guys,
enjoy Christmas, be safe, have fun with your family, and
enjoy those Christmas games. We're gonna take a break and
we'll talk more NBA here on Point Games. All right,
welcome back on Point Game. We are now gonna talk
NBA Hall of Fame because the eligible candidates for for
(18:44):
the class of twenty twenty six just got named and
there's some guys on here who are really relevant to
you some friends of yours. So let me go through
the list of nominees and we can just talk about
some of the names of stand down to it. We
got Jamal Crawford leading off the list, Blake Griffin, Joe Johnson,
Brandon Roy, Scott Skiles, Sheldon Williams, Elena Dela Dawn, Candice Parker,
(19:09):
Michelle Snow and then the ninety six US Olympic women's
basketball team. So just off the rip, I mean, I
know you we've talked about it a million times on
this show. Who are some names that pop out? Whatever?
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Of the names that I just listened, first, you gotta
go with Jamal Crawford, right, fix down.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Want Barbara to Crawford. Crawford for Crude, Tamaal Crawford from Downtown,
Trampon Crawford.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Dow's It Again, Pastor Suck back Board, Jamaal Trufford with
a circuit.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Shot for LA. That's big bro right there.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Shout out to him like it's even an honor to be,
you know, nominated. I know he feels like, all right,
that was an amazing feat obviously to be even be
in those conversations. You got Blake Griffin, who was a
generational talent who changed the game as well.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Shout out to Brandon Roy, who's short.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
That's how much of an impact, you know, he had
to be able to play five years, four to five
years and still be you don't mentioned amongst the greatest
to ever play. And then you got to give a
shout out to Candas Parker who changed the game. Big
shout to her, one of the greatest of all times
in the women's game. Everybody who was nominated, I as
(20:24):
you talked about, but big shout out to the guys
that I have relationships with, Jamal Cropper who Jamal Crawford,
and Brandon Roy and even Blake Griffin, who I've been
able to have a friendship with and be able to
compete against. So it's dope to see those type of
names be honored in that way.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Well, what's so interesting? And this is just you know,
some of those toxic debates you get in with your
with your friends and stuff, is like, oh, why should
this person get in the Hall of Fame. They don't
have rings, they don't got MVPs, and some of these
guys they don't, So like, what do you think makes
that's a Hall of Famer if not rings, He's like,
here's a great example, Robert or seven titles not in
the Hall of Fame. So you got guys like this,
(21:08):
Like what sort of impact, what sort of accomplishments do
you think should qualify you to be nominated for the
Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Man, it's it's tough. The criteria probably changes every other year,
but man, I don't I honestly don't know, because even
you said Joe Johnson, Joe Johnson scored twenty thousand points
in his career, so that he's a what eight time
All Star?
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Like he did he didn't win a ring.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
But it's tough, man talking about that because like, yeah,
Robert Ory won seven rings, but like, individually, did he
have a Hall of Fame career? Yes, he won, He
was on really good teams, he was impactful, he had
a real impact on winning those championships, But that does
(21:54):
that allow him to be a Hall of Famer?
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Like Hall of.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Fame is like, yeah, the best of the best, but
even like a guy like Jamal Crawford, he's only two
guys that won the sixth Man of the Year three times, like,
and he's close to twenty thousand points and he's played
twenty years in the NBA, So like, how isn't he
in the Hall of Fame?
Speaker 3 (22:16):
But how is he? I don't know, Like it's it's
so it's.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Tough, man, Like that thing is tough. That thing is
tough because is it about winning? Is it about your
individual success?
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Right?
Speaker 2 (22:31):
So I don't know, Like I wish I could be
in a room with the guys they vote, Like what
do they see?
Speaker 3 (22:36):
What do they what do they base it off of?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Because even some guys that are getting inducted, not saying
they shouldn't, but like they I don't know, it's a
it's a tough conversation, man.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Yeah, maybe we just got to look into it more
because how do they score these things? Like there's gotta
be like some sort of chart, right or categories of points,
you know, because like and it's like accomplishment stat line
stuff obviously, but like we're talking here, I think Blake
was just like a so explosive. You know, he got
(23:09):
into the culture because of like his dunking style, but
then he you know, changed his game into this post up,
you know, mid range guy. It just was like sort
of important to this new NBA Jamal too. You know journeyman,
but also just like handles no one's ever seen. And
then also yeah, just like revolutionize that six man role.
These aren't things that really show up on paper, but
(23:32):
when you talk to the basketball fan, they're like, oh
my god, favorite player, Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Like it's even like but even not to cut you off,
even like your peers respect is big. Yeah, you go
around and have respect from your peers. That for for
most athletes, the peers respect means more than media means
more than anything because guys, no game recognized game and
who is who got it and who don't. So it's
(23:58):
I wish I could get a list of like the
criteria of the voting, like how they go about that,
on who they vote for, or how a guy gets
inducted or nominated based off what he's done, because I
bet there's a lot of guys.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
That should be nominated, should be inducted, but they aren't.
But I don't know.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
I think one thing, if you're MVP, you automatic Hall
of Fame, like Dereck Rohle should be automatic Hall of Fame,
no session about it, first ballot. If you want an MVP,
you should be first ballot Hall of Fame no matter what.
You could play two years in the league and one
MVP one of them years, you're Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Yeah, I think if you're like the best of a
certain type of player, like this is this isn't self propaganda,
But like I t when we talk about smaller guards
and then accomplishment and sayven if you know you did
it in a small way.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
You know what I mean? Little guards? It should be
six foot in under Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
I'm in there the pack all of that kill you
on that.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
It's just I.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Think everyone is saying it in the comments. You know,
the highlights speak for itself like no one was doing that.
No one was doing it.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
That's funny.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
No, it should be broken up to ship like that
because impact is real.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Impact on the game of basketball is real.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
It speaks volumes other than the stat sheet and numbers.
But I get all the other criterias based on I
just wish we had a direct list on what it
goes on because a guy like Robert Ory's at the
crib like, how ain't I in the Hall of Fame?
I got seven rings, I got this and that. So
(25:41):
I hope in the future we can get what they
base it off of so we can so we can
have our own list of Hall of Famer.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
You think they should open it up to fan vote
a little bit, even if it's.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
No, no, no, no, no, no no no no.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
I got love for the fans because they showed me
the most love.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
But no, no, should be. I don't know how they
do it. Maybe the fans have a small percentage, but
yeah nah because no, no, no, no, it got it.
But the voting system gotta be different to it shouldn't be.
Some of these voters shouldn't have a vote.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
No, I mean, I don't know how much they're watching basketball,
how much they're.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
We don't know who they really like, you know, because
it's really it gets personal as well in terms of
guys who don't like guys. Guys got friendships with guys,
so I know how political that thing can be. So
it's just got to be. I need to be in
the meetings. I need to I need to see what
they go off of.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
You got some playing, You got some years to play
before you you're in those.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Meetings off for sure, in a couple of years. I
need to be in those meetings just to see what
they base it off of.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
All right time. For our DraftKings segment, The Knicks are

we've been just shout out using this this platform to
shout out the players who the media isn't necessarily spotlighting.
You know, they're not showing their highlights and honorn't giving
them awards every week. You get the point Game Award
over here. This is the no days off awards. So
who do you got from watching watching the league in
(28:18):
the last couple of weeks, Who's really showing out and
getting your attention?
Speaker 2 (28:22):
All Right, I'm gonna go with shout out to my
guy over Utah Utah Jazz Kyant George. Yes, sir, Yeah,
been really hooping, been really doing his thing, somebody who
has real hoop game. Obviously the Utah Jazz are not
always in the spotlight, but somebody the league needs.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
To show love to. For sure.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
He's been doing this thing the last couple of weeks,
really been been showing he's one of the young one
of one of the young up and coming talents in
the league. So no day No Days Off award for
me goes to Kiante George. We're there with the Utah Jazz.
Keep doing your thing, slow grind, Stay on your slow grind.
(29:06):
We're watching, if nobody's watching, we're tapped into how you're
killing it this year.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
So stay on it, stay the course, keep doing your thing, bro.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
And I'll add to that. They played the Lakers the
other day, and this is how you know you're you're
getting on the radar even you know, outside of us,
is that they asked Lebron to like, hey, do you
think Kyante deserves me an All Star? And he goes,
I'm just I'm too busy watching golf YouTube. But you
know what, you know, when the back was mind, He's
just like, yeah, Kante took it to us.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Oh he got game. You know, he's a hooper. Lebron
is a hooper. He knows, he knows when somebody got game.
That young that young kid got game. Man, he's a killer.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Twenty four and seven. Let's see, we'll see if.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
He means man. Come on, he got to get a
few more wins in. But he's doing his thing.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
Well that's okay. This is maybe in a sign note
to Utah because we don't really we haven't talked about them,
but like they're in this weird thing where they're like,
are you guys tanking or you guys like, for sure,
you guys got but they got sneaky young guys who
would like, hey, if you guys play a little bit,
like you knock off some of the good teams every
once in.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
A while over there, you know what he's doing. Yeah,
like they they they're gonna show glimpses of beating good teams,
of having good games against good teams. But at the
end of the day, it's it's December. They ain't trying
to win. They're trying to They trying to position theyself
for another high draft pick exactly there.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
You know what it is. They're they're they're they're not
they know what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
But but shout out to the Jazz because they're showing
flashes of being really a really good team.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
They're gonna be They're gonna be one of those teams,
especially with Ange when you get these these like gms
or these guys in the front office who know what
they're doing. They'll be bad, they'll be at the bottom,
they going losing streaks, and the next year they're in
the conference finals and you're like, this happens. It's like
they're building slow grind.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Hey, yeah, for sure they got a strategically build.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
All right, that's been no days off and this has
been another episode of point game. Guys, we hope you
have an incredible Christmas. Be safe, spend some time with
your family, watch Hoop it any any parting words for
