(00:00):
I'm trying to is it this longvideo that shows the new uniforms? Is
that? No? What is thatwhere I'm trying to see the new uniform?
Roll down a little? There wego at Kaylee Colorado on any social
platform to see the new brother I'mretweeting it right now. I don't think
there's there. There's not that muchdifferent. Oh there's differences. This is

(00:25):
okay. This is one of thosetimes. And I know that there are
a lot of women who are incrediblypower, you know, strong football fans,
But this is literally the only timewhen you will hear men you are
not gay, dissecting fashion with withsuch authority, if I may, sure,
go ahead. Theniforms had very distinctand very criticizable. Is that a

(00:46):
word. We'll just go criticized becausethey were criticized. They were. They
were very criticizable. Long bar underneaththe armpit on the jersey that is now
gone, Thank the Lord. Itwas the worst thing about the uniform.
Now you have a mountain range stylekind of outline on the shoulders. You

(01:07):
now have the ability and the bestpart about this, the Broncos are going
to now look extremely good on theroad because in the previous years. They
have had the all whites with thestripe down like that would partner with the
top down, the pant leg inlike a bluish color, and then all
white really bad looking. Now theyhave the ability to partner. They still

(01:29):
have the all whites as all whites, I hate all whites period. Now
they can partner the white top withthe blue pants, the white topchanging with
the orange pants. Oh there's ninecombinations, I believe of what I heard.
Correct, I can't see on thesephotos with the sides of the helmet's
just a regular horse logo is thehorse logo? However, the pripe is
gone. Seventies throwback is officially backas an alternate. Now they can wear

(01:53):
a combination of three times total, the throwback from the seventies, and they're
new all blue really dope, allblue ones. But they can only wear
the blue and the throwbacks a totalcombined times of three times this year.
Okay, Now their main primaries areclean. I like the the little so

(02:15):
there's in the numbers. There's abunch of little mini up arrows to indicate
altitude and playing. And the fiftyto eighty on the helmets right there,
Yes, fifty two eighty on thehelmets right there. The stripe from the
helmet is now gone as well,which I don't mind that. I don't
mind. That's been clean overall.I think a lot of people are in
the middle. I really like them. I think they're clean. Again.

(02:38):
The biggest, biggest improvement is thestripe that was previously down the middle of
the top and the armpit down andthen it would match the stripe on the
leg had to go. I needn'tremember any of that, obviously, I
pay attention when I should a rod, I know, And we didn't mean
to start the show with this, but it's kind of a big deal.
As a matter of fact, KOASports is going to be broadcasting live from

(03:00):
the store at the stadium, correct, correct, Yeah, So they're gonna
be there this afternoon. There's abig party tonight, big kickoff party,
so you can go buy your newBroncos gear and get started on this upcoming
season. So there you go.That's not how I wanted to start the
show. I just got distracted bysomething shiny, because when I got here,
that's what everybody was talking about.Yeah, okay, here we go.

I will take your order now. This story made me cry yesterday.

(05:09):
Those are the headlines on the blogat mandy'sblog dot com. And uh,
if you guys yesterday, if you'rea CBS Sunday Morning fan, you know
I love that show and I've beenlamenting the fact that it's been so political.
With Yesterday. There was no politicsat all on CBS Sunday Morning.
It was glorious. It was areturn to form. It was fantastic,

(05:31):
so good. But the last uh, Steve Steve Hartman. I love the
Steve Hartman stories. He just goesout and finds the most heartwarming stories you've
ever seen in your entire life. And yesterday was no exception. This little
girl in Arkansas. And when youhear a rod, when you hear someone
was twenty nine years old and theydied unexpectedly, do you immediately lea think

(05:54):
drug overdose? Because I do,yeah, or some terminal but if it's
an if it's an accident, orcan sir they say her mother was killed
in a car accident, or hermother died of cancer. But when they
just say died unexpectedly, and notthat this means anything in the grand scheme
of things, but I thought aboutthat. I thought about the fact I

(06:14):
make that leap because when you hearof a young person dying unexpectedly young and
there's no further explanation, you're justlike, oh, it was another drug
in overdose, and they're just it'sterrible, what's happening to our young people.
We're losing so many young people.By the way. Stephen Tubbs documentary
devastated about the fentanal Crisis in Coloradocomes out in May. I'm going to

(06:36):
get him back on the show tolet you know how you can see this
movie as it comes out. Butback to what I was talking about.
So, yesterday Steve Hartman did thisstory of a little girl I believe in
Arkansas and her mother, twenty nineyears old, died unexpectedly, and when
they went to the cemetery to seeher mother, her mother only had an

(06:58):
iron plate, just one of thoselittle iron stands, and her daughter said,
why doesn't she have a headstone, and her grandmother said, we can't
afford it. It's expensive. Sothe little girl starts a lemonade stand and
she's selling lemonade for a dollar, and everyone in the community hears about this
lemonade stand and people are coming by. They don't even like lemonade, they're
buying lemonade by the gallon. It'sjust it's one of those stories that is

(07:21):
so tragic because this little girl's losther mother, but it's one of those
stories where a community just wraps theirarms around this little girl and comes out
to support it. And it mademe cry yesterday. So I'm not going
to watch it today because it'll probablymake me cry again. So a little
bit later on the show, myfriend Lynn Coattrell. She is just a

(07:42):
wonder of activity. She's involved inso many veterans' charity. She's also involved
in the ARAPO Lincoln Day Dinner. It is coming up. They've got a
phenomenal young woman speaker who is goingto come to their event, who is
just outstanding. And so we're goingto talk to Lynn about that. If
you want to buy a ticket. And I got an email from somebody last

(08:03):
week and I'm meant to put iton the blog and I forgot, but
it was about It was from aColorado Republican who said, I find the
leadership of the Colorado Republican Party disgusting. So what do I do? What
do I do? Do I leavethe party? And I said, well,
I tried to leave the party ina fit of peak, but I
messed up changing my party affiliation. So I figured that was God telling me

(08:26):
that I shouldn't be leaving the party. I should just be sticking around and
trying to fix it. Unfortunately,I think that there is some serious fundamental
issues and I'm going to talk abouta column Dick Wadhams wrote about the Colorado
GOP's latest scheme, and I callit a scheme to be insulting, to
be clear, their latest scheme tolock out unaffiliated voters. They want to

(08:48):
lock the majority of voters out ofthe primaries, even though the same voters
voted to have a say in theprimaries. And here's the deal. Like,
I don't love unaffiliated voters being ableto vote in a party's primaries,
but I also don't love the twoparty system where they make it damn near
impossible for anybody else to get onthe ballot. So I'm not going to

(09:11):
go down that rabbit hole right now. But they said what can I do?
And I said, well, wheredo you live? And they told
me where they lived, and Isaid, get involved in your local party
because a lot of these local partiesare led by people who do not agree
with the state leadership. And theonly thing you can do is influence those
people to come out forcefully as alocal party against what the leadership is doing.

(09:33):
That's really all the hope you canhave. So if you're in a
Rapo County and you're a Republican andyou've never really participated in Republican politics,
the Lincoln Day dinner would be agreat way to do it, and these
are great people and you'll love it. And we'll talk to Lynn about that
at one point thirty Now, ifyou were listening to the end of Rossa's
show, First of all, Iwant to say happy Passover to my friends

(09:54):
who are Jewish. Passover is oneof my favorite traditions in Judaism. I
am not Jewish, but I havehad the privilege of going to Passover Sata
in the past and experiencing the deep, deep, deep traditions that go along
with a Passover Sata. And Rossand I were joking, like, you
don't go to a Passover Satar forthe food because the food is terrible.

(10:15):
It's all symbolic and then you getto real food later, but it takes
like two hours to just get tothe real food while you have to eat
bad food. Trust me, there'sa reason for the bad food though,
And it's one of the things Ilove about Judaism just overall, is that
in the traditions there is so muchmeaning, and in the traditions you begin
to understand how, first of all, how long the roots of Judaism go.

(10:37):
Because the tradition of Passover started gaulLee, I don't even know.
I don't know the year. Ishould probably know that, but I don't.
But you know, thousands of yearsbefore, a thousand years before Christianity,
so you know, we're like thejunior religion here. And if you
know any Jews today, I thinktoday would be a great day to reach

(10:58):
out to your Jewish friends to justsay, you know what, happy Passover,
and I want to let you knowI will always have your back.
I will always always, And asI've said to my friend Susan Witkin,
who is Jewish and he's getting readyfor her Sator tonight, I will hide
you in my attic if I needto. That's how I feel about my
Jewish friends. And that was aflippant statement for a really long time.

(11:20):
But you know, Ron spent alot of time talking about Columbia University because
that's his alma mater. And youknow, my alma mater, we do
dumb things. I went to FloridaState. We're like the number one party
school in the country. So Idon't have to worry about such things as
talking about rampant anti Semitism that's happeningat Columbia University. I have a lot
of stuff on the blog today aboutthat. I have columns, I have

(11:43):
various things written about it, andyou can read it all there. But
I want to start out, andthis is a very serious way to look
at this. But the reason wehave to not just not just react and
respect bond to the kind of antiSemitic protests that we're seeing right now on

(12:03):
Ivy League college campuses. It isincumbent upon us to talk to these students
that, for some reason have decidedthat hamas an organization which orchestrated an attack
where people at a music festival weremowed down, where women were violently raped,

(12:24):
where they filmed themselves on video beheadingIsraeli citizens with a hoe because they
didn't have anything sharper. They rapedwomen so violently, they broke their pelvises,
They sliced off woman's breast while inthe act of raping her. They
did horrific things that should not everbe said on the radio. And I

(12:45):
never thought I would be saying thesethings on the radio, but here we
are. But more than that, these young people seem to have absolutely no
concept of why Israel believed so stronglyin its defense. And you need only
look back to the Holocaust, Israelwaited, not Israel, Jews waited in

(13:07):
Germany for someone to help them, someone to save them, someone to come
to their rescue. And it tooksix million people being shoved into ovens and
thrown into mass graves before the worldcame to save them. And they vowed,
never again would we rely on anyoneelse to save us. And now
they live in a neighborhood where theyare surrounded by people who not only don't

(13:30):
like them, but wish for nothingmore than their absolute and utter destruction.
And while Israel is raising their childrenin the Jewish tradition of trying to leave
the world a better place, andthat is a very strong tradition throughout Judaism.
While they're over there trying to raisetheir kids to be compassionate and make
the world a better place, Hamasis raising its kindergarteners to learn to grow

(13:54):
up to be suicide bombers. Andthat in their founding documents, founding charters,
it talks about killing Jews wherever theyare found. And this is who
these young people have aligned themselves with. Now, one of the things I
have been doing I don't want tosay to my daughter but with my daughter,
she has a very strong opinion aboutIsrael and Hamas because her cousin is

(14:18):
there. My nephew is her cousin, and she is keenly aware of the
fact that his life and the livesof his children are at stake here.
This isn't some hypothetical thing where we'refighting against some imaginary oppressor. And it's
not enough to tell these kids tosit down, shut up, and go
home, which is exactly what ColumbiaUniversity should be telling them. And if

(14:41):
it were up to me, Iwould absolutely expel every single student that was
involved in these unauthorized protests, because, yes, we have the right to
gather, we have the right tobe heard, but we as a society
have decided that there are rules thatyou must follow in order to protest in
a way that does not disrupt thelives and livelihood of everyone around you.

(15:03):
You have the right to be heard, but you do not have the right
to block traffic on the Golden GateBridge. You don't have the right to
block traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge. That is not what we as a society
have decided is okay, So wegot a lot to do on these ivy
League campuses. And the first thingthat the leadership of these schools must do

(15:28):
is find out where these kids aregetting it. Where are these kids learning
this stuff. They're not just they'renot just coming to school full of anti
sem I mean, okay, ilanOmer's daughter was she came to school full
of anti Semitism. We know thatthat's a given. But you're telling me
that all of these kids. Areyou telling me that the Jewish students who

(15:52):
are out there protesting? And heasked, there are Jewish students out there
protesting as their compatriots are calling deathto Jews. F the Jews from the
river to the sea, Palestine willbe free, which is which essentially means
that they want to wipe all theJews out of Israel. Do you think
they're Jewish parents are okay with that? Although some Jewish parents are okay with

(16:15):
that because they truly have bought intothe narratives that somehow Israel is the oppressor.
Israel the oppressor provides well, didprovides water and electricity and all other
means of having a safe and cleansociety in Gaza? Because Hamas took the
billions of dollars of aid that hasflowed into the Gaza Strip and they used

(16:40):
it to build tunnels to attack theIsraelis. They didn't build water treatment plants,
they didn't build electric generation systems, they didn't build any of that.
They were perfectly happy to let theJews, whom they hate, provide the
basic necessities for the people of Gaza. They're the worst oppressors ever on a
the worst suppressors ever. It wasIsrael who let thousands and thousands of Palestinians

(17:07):
cross the border every day to makemoney to support their families because there was
not enough industry that could do soin the Gaza Strip. And you know
what, some of those same peoplehelped Thomas plan the mask or of October
seventh. We need to be talkingto these kids and help them understand that
they are on the side of evil. They are on the side of people
who have no regard for human life. And more importantly, they're on the

(17:32):
side of people who would very happilyslip the throats of every single American student
at Columbia if it would if itwould further their cause, and do so
without giving it a second thought. And these kids, I mean, at
this stage in the game, ifyou got a resume from a kid from
Columbia. What would you do withit? I told this to Ross.

(17:52):
I'm like, I would throw itin the trash so fast. I wouldn't
even look at the rest of theresume. If you're coming from Ivy League
in the last five years, Idon't want to talk to you. There's
no doubt in my mind that you'regonna come into my business and create havoc
and mistrust and and problems. Wehave really lost our way on this,

(18:15):
I mean really lost our way.You can text me on the Common Spirit
Health techt Ligne at five six six, and I know we're gonna go through
this and so much more. Onthe blog, I'm gonna share some polling.
I'm not gonna do Israel the wholeshow, I promise you, but
I'm gonna tell you part of theproblem, and it's gen Z. A

(18:36):
new poll about gen Z is notgood. All right, guys, you
just heard the news the Broncos havetreated for Zach Wilson from the New York
Jets. So we go right toour man with his finger on the pulse
of everything, Broncos, Ben Albright, Ben, I gotta tell you the
news room, well, me anda Rod we're not excited. And let

(19:00):
me just ask you this, howdoes Broncos Country react to this? Well,
right now, if social media isan indicator, they are none too
happy that. It feels like thatthe social media crew certainly wanted to draft
the quarterback. And I'm not sayingthat that's out of the realm of possibility,
but the idea that they would dothat there at twelve, I think

(19:21):
is certainly out And I think thatthis is more of an indicator that the
team, while they had made somecalls to move up, simply did not
have the ammunition to be able tomove up and get one of the big
four quarterbacks in this draft. Sowhat I was going to say is this,
to me, it kind of feelslike them saying, Okay, we're
going to trade down. We're goingto go and try and get some more
position players that we need that aregoing to be available lower. Did you

(19:45):
feel like that's going to happen? Are they going to stay at twelve?
Well, that's what Nick and Ihave been talking about on Broncos Country at
night since the combine. That wasour kind of our gut feeling that this
team was going to be able todo was either either trade down from twelve
or take a defensive player at twelve, and it looks like that's sort of
coming to fruition at this point.I do know there are some teams interested
in moving up, specifically the LaRams and Green Bay Packers, who would

(20:07):
love to get up to around twelvewhere the Broncos pick to be able to
get their kind of guys, andthat may allow the Broncos to multiply their
picks and be able to get somereally good players when other teams move up
and give them multiple draft picks. So if they wanted to trade down from
twelve and this enables that, Iwould be a fan of that move.
Did you see this coming? Imean, was that I mean, was

(20:27):
that Wilson really on the radar? You know, I hear you guys talking
about it because I do listen toBroncos Country tonight because I like Nick and
just kidding it, But was thisreally on the radar? I mean this
caught us off guard? Yeah,I mean it's been on the radar.

(20:48):
The Broncos tried to make a movefor Sam Darnold. Ultimately he wanted to
go to the Vikings, so hewent ahead and took that move. They
explored some other options Sam Howell, but they weren't willing to give up enough
what it would take to get SamHowell. He went to the the AUK.
So, Zach Wilson is time moreon the Jets. Price tag continued
to drop. Originally they were askingfor like a like a fourth or fifth
rounder, and now the Broncos gethim for a pick swap of a sixth

(21:11):
and seventh rounder. So their patientssort of paid off that. Wilson's the
reclamation project. There's reasons that peopleare on the clearance shelf. Okay,
I mean that's what we're talking abouthere, Ben, Yeah, I'm not
trying to spin this. I'm justtrying to give you the fact here.
What I believe was, you know, I'm not as sold on the move.
However, I can understand the youknow, the framework here as is

(21:33):
you know, letting the patients playoff. Zach Wilson was drafted number two
overall just a few years ago,and so right behind Trevor Lawrence, and
there were guys that thought that shouldhave gone number one at that point in
time. So you know, Imean, if anybody can, I can
do this as a reclamation project service. Sean Payton and the Jets are going
to be paying half of his fiveand a half million dollars salary anyway,
so it's it's a no cost flyerfor the Broncos. Is really the way

(21:55):
to view this sore? What arehis glaring flaws that you think think are
fixable? Like, like, whatwould you like that? What would you
expect Let's just say he gets here, he's working with the right quarterbacks coach,
he's got the right scheme. Whatdo you expect his strengths to be
from what we know about Sean Payton'soffense. Well, he's mobile, he's

(22:15):
got quick feet, and he's fasterthan you think he is. He's a
better athlete than you think he is. He has a strong arm, a
very strong arm. I mean he'sa smaller guy, but you wouldn't you
know, he has a strong arm, and he might not expect that.
The things he needs to work on, you know, his accuracy and anticipation
and letting the game slow down forhim. You know, in life,
when we do a lot of thingsany that we're not familiar with, sometimes

(22:36):
it can feel like an onslaught atfirst, and you know, we feel
like everything is going so fast andthen as we gain familiarity, things slow
down for us. It's the samething in football, processing field slows down
for you. Overtime asks Peyton Manningabout that, and so I think he
needs a situation where they're able tosimplify slow the game down for him till
he can get comfortable and not freneticin his play. And that's what really
really messed him up there in NewYork. The biggest holes right now that

(23:00):
could be fixed or not fixed, but at least potentially plugged with more draft
picks if we do trade down well. The Broncos made another edition today.
They signed corner Levi Washington, whoyou know is going to compete for that
number two spot. I still thinkthey need one more corner. I'd like
to see, particularly an edge rusher, somebody to put opposite Nick Benito,

(23:21):
who's really kind of emerged as theguy. I mean, Baron Browning and
Drew Sanders and Jonathan Cooper have beenokay, but really we need a difference
maker there. Back in the inthe vein when the Broncos had Bond Miller
and Bradley Chubb. So I'd loveto see him get an edge rusher,
specifically Jared Burst out of Florida Stateor Lautu Latu out of UCLA. Both
those guys I think are going tobe available in that twelve range and could
be available later if they trade back. So my guess at this point would

(23:45):
be the edge rush. So whatabout our offensive line because we did not
have it wasn't horrible last year, but it certainly had room for improvement.
Are we doing anything to shore thatup? Because we got a new quarterback
who, as you said, needsto have the field slow down. An
offensive line is critical there. Itis that providing that protection, allowing a
quarterback time that I think the dealthe critical. I think the main thing

(24:06):
is, of course, they investedmoney in the left guard and right tackle
last year, so they're not goingto do anything there. The right guard
in Quinn Minors is very good andhe's going to be a stable that live
for a long time. Harrett Bowlesat the left tackles on the last year
of a deal, so you couldsee a draft pick there. And then
of course the center position where theylet Lloyd Kushenberry go in free agency.
I do expect them to address thatin the draft, and obviously, you

(24:27):
know, the kid from Oregon, you know, could be somebody that you'd
want right in that little range wherethey're going to be drafting. He looks
like somebody that could be. AndNick and I are going to interview Dan
Lanning to night, the head coachat Oregon. We'll get a chance to
ask him about it. So,okay, so we got Zach Wilson.
Not the most exciting quarterback situation.Do you think that this is Sean Payton's

(24:48):
this is what he wants? Imean, I know he's pretty much running
things right now. They've give himhim a lot of leeway in his you
know, first few years here.So is this the guy that Sean Payton
said, I can make it work. I think this is a guy Sean
Payton said, I think, okaywork. I don't know if it's necessarily
the guy MI. Sean Payton's runningthe show and this decision was made obviously

(25:10):
with his input and his suggestion, and he'll say so, But I don't
know that this is the be allend though. I think this is a
guy you take a chance on thisyear, and you trade back in the
draft, accumulate draft capital next year. And if Zach Wilson or Jarretts did
it works out, you look likea genius. Said, if they don't,
it didn't cost you anything, andyou can go get a quarterback next
year. All right, that's beenalbright, our Broncos Country insider. Are

(25:32):
you guys going to be at thatparty tonight for the new unis the Beauniport?
Bill Nick will be there. I'vegot some things I've got to do,
so I'll be in and out,but we'll we'll pick our heads in.
All right. We've got fashion anda new quarterback happening today for the
Denver Broncos. Thanks for making timefor us, Ben, take care.
All right, that's been all rightour Broncos Country insider of course, and

(25:52):
one of the two talking heads onBroncos Country tonight, which I think is
the best sports show on in theevening anywhere in the entire world. Just
throwing that out there. We'll beright back. I will be positive first
and say the potential as Ben saidof a former number two overall pick,
Yep, he was drafted too high, but he was drafted for a reason.

(26:12):
Then for a reason. Yeah,I think there was a lot of
issues with the surrounding cast in NewYork. I think there's a lot of
issues with the offense that he wasrunning in New York. I think he
got a big case of the yips. I think deer in headlights at the
confidence was kind of shot. Withall that said, I was very firmly
I don't think it's any secret onthe train of you're at number twelve.

(26:33):
You don't have all the firepower thatyou would like to have when it comes
to trading up and getting one ofthese top quarterbacks. But this is a
class that even if you land theQB three or QB four, whether that
be a Drake may or JJ McCarthy, those are guys that are QB onees
or two's other drafts. It's notabout saying, well, the problem is
is if you can't make it happen, you can't make it happen. That
is true. Ben Ben just said, can't make it happen. That is

(26:56):
true. You need two to tango, You need a draft partner, you
need someone that says yes the packagethat you offer. So if that is
the case, and this is theBroncos saying we did what we could to
move out, it didn't happen, then I don't hate it as much.
But opting for this over the otheroption, if they didn't want to wait
until draft night and seek that out, then I have some concerns. But
again I will draw back to thefact that there's two big fact factors here.

(27:19):
Sean Payton is an offensive grou.I like what he does with quarterbacks.
I like what he can possibly dowith Zach Wilson. And if he
can get confidence going in Wilson againagain they they acquired Rogers, they move
forward with Rogers because Zach Wilson wasn'tthe guy. Well, I mean,
let's be real, if they givehim number three, they can finally unload
a lot of those Wilson jerseys thatdidn't say, well, they're not giving
a number two war in New Yorkbecause pats Ertan's here and he ain't given

(27:41):
up number two. PS two isn'tgiven up too, So yeah, you
could you can make a lot ofBroncos fans save some money on Wilson jerseys.
Yeah, but there's some intrigue.I like that the price tag wasn't
high. The Jets are paying someof his five point five million salary,
which is good, So it reallyI mean it's a low risk. Yeah,
that point. This is basically ano loss situation because we all know

(28:03):
that the Broncos are in rebuilding phase, right that we If you were expecting
a Super Bowl this year, youare not being realistic. And the reality
also of the situation is that ifit's Zach Wilson versus jarreed' stedham in a
quarterback can't battle. Let's say Wilsonwins that and they aren't that good this
year, then you're looking at atop pick next year and a chance to
be even higher than twelve maybe andgo get the quarterback that you want if

(28:26):
Wilson doesn't pay off. So there'spros. The text messages are very funny.
You can text us at five, six, six nine. Know this
first. This text makes a greatpoint though, Hey, Rod Drew Brees
had five lackluster years in San Diegobefore going to New Orleans. I wouldn't
say lackluster. That he had somespark there with the Charges before he came,
but obviously, yeah, he tookit to another level. Yeah with

(28:48):
the Saints. But again there's potentialthere with Wilson. He has a lot
of work to do and a lotof it is mental and I think I
think Sean Ping could be the guythat helps him get over that. Yeah
problem, this person said, Mandy, his last name is Wilson. Enough
said, we cannot we cannot justdecide that anyone with the last name Wilson
is not the right quarterback for us. That's not nice. This one is

(29:11):
my favorite text of the entire day. Maybe next year we can trade for
Woodrow Wilson next year. Yeah, you'd have to kind of bring Hi back
to life. Yeah, yeah, yeh. I'm good with Zach Wilson,
says the sext. So remember hehad a lousy coaching staff in New York
and they now have Hackett as theiroffensive coordinator. Be positive, go Zach,

(29:32):
and see that is the kind ofattitude that I like to see,
because if this guy does have theyips, and I think you're right about
that, he's got a crisis ofconfidence, right, Because when you play
at a really high level in collegeand then you get into the pros and
you get steamrolled the way he's gottensteamrolled, it messes with your your your
confidence in yourself and your abilities. So let's just embrace Zach Wilson and say

(29:53):
we're here for you. Buddy, let's get this done together. I will
say this, Zach Wilson nothing liketheir playing style, but the story of
their rise and then draft is verysimilar to the guy that I want the
Broncos to draft and JJ McCarthy atBYU. Zach Wilson. He rose like
insane up in draft and then woundup going number two, and there's a
lot there were a lot of questionmarks for him, and there are a
lot of question marks with the guyat JJ that I wanted. So it's

(30:15):
similar in the sense that there's that. But again, we've now seen a
decent enough sample size of Zach Wilson. I'm intrigued because of the ability to
say this is a guy that hada lot of potential coming out of school.
Here's one. Hey, Broncos,go get Drew Locke again too.
Peyton plan and full of fact.Love a Chiefs fan, I know,

(30:37):
I wasn't not opposed to Drew lotcome back. That is not I like
Zach Wilson. Moore, Yeah,a lot more. Anyway, Well,
well, obviously they're going to betalking about this at length on Kawa Sports,
so they're going to have all thedetails as they broadcast live from the
team store at the stadium today asthe new uniforms are being rolled out at
the same time, we'll be rollingout a new quarterback at the same time.

(31:00):
Now, when we get back,I want to talk about the House
passing an AID bill, and Iam so sick of spineless Republicans not willing
to put themselves out there. AndI understand why they do it, but
it still makes me absolutely crazy. We'll discuss that. And I want to
know where you guys are going toColorado. Where in Colorado should my family

(31:22):
go this summer. I've been alot of places in Colorado, but now
I'm looking for like the hidden gems, you know where I should go.
We'll talk about all that stuff inthe next hour. Let's talk about some
news that happened over the weekend. The House of Representatives passed an AID bill
for Israel and Ukraine, and somebodywill go to Taiwan, and in typical

(31:45):
House Republican fashion, they could findninety five billion dollars in aids, so
Ukraine and Taiwan and Israel could protecttheir borders, but couldn't get anything in
there to protect our own orders. And what's frustrating to me about this,
I'm actually in favor of aid toUkraine and Israel and Taiwan. I read

(32:09):
an article and I'm trying to getJonathan hat On or not Jonathan hate excuse
me, Nile Ferguson on the showabout it. I reached out to him
this morning. Great column that it'sPaywalder. I would have put it on
the blog about you know what countryare we going to be? That being
said, we cannot keep deficit spendingbecause Ferguson's law, as he's named it,

(32:30):
says that no country can continue toexist after spending on debt service outpaces
spending on defense. And we areright there right now, and at a
time when the economy, according toJoe Biden, is allegedly booming, we're
still running massive deficits every single quarterand every single year, and we cannot

(32:50):
continue to do this. So thatbeing said, I'm in favor of AID.
I do think it matters because youhave bad actors. You have China
backing up Russia, you have Russiabacking up Iran, you have Venezuela being
backed up by China and Russia.I mean, there's a lot of bad
actors right now, and they arecoalescing together, and if we don't stop

(33:13):
them before they have a chance tofully coalesce, then we end up paying
a much larger price in the formof a world war. And it's just
hubris to think it can't happen again. It's just hubris to think that we
have evolved in such a way thatwe are immune from the possibility of another
world war. And there's no reasonto think that eventually it won't land on

(33:37):
our shores. And that's something thatwe have not ever had to deal with
in the United States. The onlyattacks that we've had to deal with on
American soil were Pearl Harbor and nineto eleven, and they throw our entire
country into a tizzy. They didunite us, which I guess would be
a nice change from where we arenow. But that being said, it

(33:57):
infuriates me that House Republicans are toochicken crap to try and put border security
for the United States of America inthis bill. And the reason they say,
they're like, look, you knowwhat, you send one of those
bills over to Chuck Schumer sent andit's dead in the water. Great,
make Chuck Schumer explain, why makeChuck Schumer explain to people all across the

(34:17):
country who are really tired of beingoverrun by people who have come here illegally
demanding all sorts of things. Waittill you hear the story I have later
in the show about the illegal immigrantsin Denver who say that six months of
free rent is not enough. Ohyeah, oh yeah. Talk to the
American people Chuck Schumer about why it'snot important to secure our southern border,

(34:42):
but it's important to secure the bordersof Ukraine, Taiwan and Israel. Make
him answer the questions, but theydon't even try. Do you know what
is in this aid package? Doyou know what brave Republicans were able to
get into this package that they're outthere crowing about right now. The sale
of TikTok will be will be forcedif this bill goes through the Senate as

(35:02):
it is now and has passed. That was that was the hill they chose
to die on. That was themost important thing to these Republicans. That
was the thing they decided to slideinto this bill that they were pretty sure
was going to get passed by theSenate. I mean, you guys,
no one is trying to protect thiscountry and don't get me wrong. You

(35:24):
know how I feel about TikTok.I would love to see it, you
know, sold to someone, ButI'm not confident that that would change the
platform dramatically. I'm not confident thatwould change anything. I fully believe that
the Chinese communists that put all kindsof backdoors into TikTok to where they can
get whatever they want whenever they getwhenever they want it. They don't need
our permission, they don't need ownership. It's already baked in. But that's

(35:49):
what Republicans thought was so expensive orso so impressive. Yep, that's it.
And then they stood around and theycongratulated themselves and passing this bill while
ignoring what's happening at the southern border. And it's just it's gross, you
guys. Why can't we have peoplein Congress, in both parties who who

(36:12):
just look and say, is thisgood for America? No, it's not
allowing you know, millions of peoplefrom south of the border. We don't
even know where they're from. They'rewalking across the border. We do know
that Chinese nationals are walking across theborder in record rates right now. Why
wouldn't you why would you just doit the legal way when you can just

(36:36):
walk across the southern border and getsix months free rent, which we know
is not enough in Denver. I'mdisgusted with Republicans. They passed the bill
with more I don't know if moreDemocrat votes than Republican votes the Israel,
but nope, very close, onehundred and ninety three Republicans voting for one
hundred and seventy three Democrats voting infavor. It passed three sixty six to

(37:00):
fifty eight. So this is justincredibly, incredibly frustrating, but not surprising.
I mean, this is why wehave to do something about the structure
of DC, because it's a mess. It is a cesspool. It changes

(37:21):
every single person that goes there.I would just love it if before any
bill that was passed, we justasked the question is this good for Americans
or not? There you go,why should we give money? Says this
Texter to Ukraine when they don't allowdemocracy, They don't allow free and fair
elections. This is a proxy war. Be very clear. We are in
a proxy war with Russia right now, using Ukraine as our proxy, just

(37:46):
like Iranians are at war with Israelusing the Huthis and Hamas and has Blah
as their proxies. We are ina proxy war with Russia. We are
trying to starve them, but thereality is that China is feeding them more
weapons, more money through the backdoor in there no limits partnership that they

(38:07):
established right before the war broke out, right before. So we have to
fight this fight lest we allow Russiato continue their aggression with the help of
China, and less we promote weaknessweakness from the West. We all know

(38:29):
that Vladimir Putin is straight up likehe's a KGB guy. He is absolutely
one hundred percent KGB. He wouldtake it right back to the Soviet Union
if he could. You see himon his his his you know, his
pictures of him riding a horse barebackor wrestling a bear, whatever nonsense he's
come up with to show exactly howpowerful he is. I mean, he's

(38:52):
not Kim yung un, but he'spretty dang close. With the kind of
propaganda that he's you know, kepthim in power. I saw a really
funny video over the weekend on Twitter, and I could not find it again
today. Someone in Russia in anelevator in an apartment complex, hung up
a picture of Vladimir Putin and acamera and then film the reactions of Russians

(39:14):
getting into the elevator, and theyall were like, it was not a
good thing. Now. I don'tknow if there were other people who got
in who just ignored it, butthe ones that got in and made a
comment it was not pretty, notpretty at all. So this person said,
no, the aid is just away to line politicians' pockets. We

(39:35):
played chicken poop games instead of dealingwith the problem. There's probably some truth
to that. This text he again, so suspend democracy when times are hard.
Zelenski is a dictator and has noincentive to leave. He's getting more
rich. I don't disagree with anyof that, but what are the options.
Let Russia roll over Ukraine and thenbe right up against Oarnado allies,

(40:00):
and if he moves on any ofthe NATO allies which are right next to
Ukraine, we have no choice butto go into full fledged war with Russia.
This is why it's a proxy war, and a proxy war right now
is better than a hot war.I'm not a huge fan of Zelenski.
I'm not a huge fan. Ido think there's a tremendous amount of corruption

(40:20):
in Ukraine, and I would verymuch like all AID to come with an
auditor, you know, like, where's our money going. We're going to
keep the check book, you guys, let us know who to write the
checks to, but we're writing themdirectly and we're not giving the cash in
the meantime. That would make mesuper happy, but we can't do that
realistically. So yeah, I'm notlike mad at you, Texter, because

(40:44):
I don't think you're wrong. Butin the grand scheme of things, the
enemy of my enemy is my friend, and right now that's Ukraine. And
if we want to keep a NATOconflagration from getting ginned up, then it's
better to fight that battle in Ukrainethan have it eke over into other NATO
countries. Mandy, why are Republicansso in love with the Russians? Not

(41:06):
all Republicans are in love with theRussians. Trust me on this, But
I don't understand. I don't understandthe Tucker Carlson thing. I truly don't.
I don't understand any of it.I really don't. It's almost like
they're just being contrarian to be contrarianI'm genuinely baffled by that entire thing.

(41:28):
The Russians wish us nothing but illwill. There's no win win with Russia.
It's we win, you lose. That's the only proposition with the Russians.
And I don't understand any Republican whois flirting with the sort of totalitarianism
that Putin has put on display, whether it's murdering journalists or any opposition that

(41:50):
might pop up. I mean, more people fall out of windows accidentally in
Russia than any other single place inthe world, and no one seems to
be concerned about that in me.In my case, I look at both
of these nations as nations I wouldnot want to be pals with, right
like, I don't know. Ido want to visit Russia because the architecture

(42:14):
is amazing, but I'm afraid withmy job, I might they might find
something in my bag as I wentto leave, and I end up in
prison for twenty five years, evenif I didn't bring anything in my bag
in the first place, which Iwould not have anything that could possibly remotely
be construed negatively. But ultimately,we have to look at the bigger geopolitical

(42:34):
space, and you have to lookat what happens next if Russia is allowed
to dominate and roll over Ukraine.I just don't think it ends well.
I think it is. It isso empowering to Russia in so many ways
that you would continue to see moreaggression, more aggression, and more aggression,
because in Vladimir Putin's mind, hewants to get the band back together,

(42:55):
he wants the Soviet Union, hewants it's the Iron Curtain to come
back, and that doesn't stop withUkraine. So there you go. This
person said, as an unaffiliated voterwith views on both sides, it makes
me sick. Crappy bills get passedthat don't protect the border. Need term
limits for every member of Congress andrepresentative in DC. I agree wholeheartedly.

(43:20):
But they will never, never, voluntarily do that to themselves. That's one
of the things that you've heard theconversation about the Convention of States last year
or last week. That's one ofthe things that the Convention of States does
is it would allow us to createand put forth a constitutional amendment that would
force term limits on members of Congress. But even then, you guys,

(43:43):
even then you still have the bureaucracyand the bureaucracy is so entrenched. This
is one of the reasons that Iam all for the decentralization of various agencies.
Now, when the Department of NaturalResources was moved to well, no,

(44:04):
wait a minute, wait a minute, Bureau of Land Management. Yeah,
BLM was going to be moved toGrand Junction. I don't even know
what the status of that is rightnow. It was the best idea I've
ever heard. Why do all ofthese governmental agencies have to be in the
same city? What technology today? There's no reason that the IRS needs to
be in DC. There's no reasonthat all of these different putative agencies need

(44:24):
to be in one place. Thebureaucracy is all intermixed with each other,
and the bureaucracy will be there now. There's some need for continuity, right
You can't have an entirely new cropof members of the House of Representatives who
know nothing about how the system works. You've got to have some continuity.
But it does not need to beas insidious as it is now. I

(44:47):
have a story today about Bill Barr. Bill Barr, former Attorney General.
He was, you know, inTrump's good graces until he refused to crap
all over the Constitution and try andkeep Trump in power. And then he
was he was out of favor withTrump. But now after saying in twenty
twenty two that he wished there wereanother candidate on the Republican side, he's

(45:07):
now come out and said, youknow what, I'm voting for Trump.
And he's voting for Trump because hefeels like the Biden administration and I love
the phrase he used that it hasuh buh buh buh. They have a
totalitarian temper. They've brought in theprogressive music or movement, and they're trying

(45:30):
to swell chop position in free speech. Part of this, the difference between
Trump and Biden being in office isthat when Trump's in office, he has
the entire bureaucracy working against him. When Biden's in office, he has the
entire bureaucracy working for him, andthat is far more dangerous than having one

(45:51):
man trying to disrupt that bureaucracy.BLM is currently a Grand Junction, but
they have threatened to move it again. Okay, that's great, great,
Mandy. That's why I left theRepublican Party. Neither party is good,
they're both awful, and that's whyI'm unaffiliated. Now, I agree with
you that there needs to be changed, but it's only getting worse. And

(46:12):
not to be a Debbie downer, but I don't think it's ever going to
get better. Love the show, keep up the good work. If you
want Russia, says this texture tobe more powerful, just limit the production
of energy in America in the world. Oh wait, old Joe just did
that must be he's a secret Republican. That is an excellent point. Excellent
point because now this person said, unfortunately it's easier to trust Putin than Biden

(46:40):
and Zelensky. That that's just anignorant statement. I don't mean to be
disparaging, Texter, but that's ignorant. I understand not trusting Biden, I
understand not trusting Zelensky, But whyare you giving Putin any credence at all?
Put him in the same level. What in the world, What in

(47:01):
the world would make you say that? In what respect has Vladimir Putin shown
himself to be trustworthy in any way, shape or form? In what aspect
has he demonstrated himself to be agood world citizen in any way shape that

(47:21):
you would give him any credit inany way, shape, or form.
I mean good gravy. I hopeyou don't share that with other people,
because they're going to think you're afool mandy. I find Zelensky to be
very forthright and eloquent in his remarks, and please for support. What don't
you like about him? There isa ton of corruption in Ukraine, and

(47:42):
there's been a lot of stories asof late, especially in international news,
about various members of the Ukrainian militarybuying Italian villas, buying real estate around
the world, and how in theworld are they getting that money. I
would guess he paid for it allin American green backs. There was corruption
in Ukraine before Russia rolled into Ukraine. There is a thriving Nazi movement in

(48:07):
Ukraine. All of these things canexist, and yet I still think we
need to support Ukraine because again it'sa proxy war with Russia, and that
alone is enough to say, thereyou go, there you go. This
person said BLM did move back toWashington, but did maintain a larger presence
in Grand Junction than it had beforethe initial moved to Grand Junction. Democrats

(48:31):
return the bureau back to DC.I know because I worked for BLM in
Denver, so you, sir,get the final word or Madam Putin is
not woke? Is that it?Oh? God? I hope not.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I can't stand the woke garbage that
is going on. But that's notenough to make me embrace a dictator who
happens to share that same feeling aboutthat ideology. Good Lord, good Lord.

(49:00):
Why are we also giving aid tothe Palestinians. They are Hamas and
they are terrorists. No innocent Palestinianshave to pick a side. I am
all for ending aid to uh Gazaone hundred percent. And don't get me
wrong, I say this knowing thatthere are children starving in Gaza right now.
I know this saying that there arepeople suffering mightily in Gaza right now.

(49:22):
But you know why we dropped thebomb the bombs that we did in
Japan to bring a warrior people, the Japanese who were thought to maybe never
give up that fight to their kneesso decisively that there was no doubt,
no claiming victory in any way, shape or form. And that is what's

(49:45):
going to have to happen in Gazabefore Hamas can be rooted out of every
aspect of the life of Gazans, because otherwise, if there's any way that
that Hamas can claim any kind ofvictory, then we're just putting off the
next time this happens a little bitfurther, Hamas has to be utterly destroyed,
and frankly, the Palestinian people haveto be brought to their knees.

(50:07):
And I take no joy in sayingthat, but that's the truth of war.
And Israel didn't start this war.Hamas decidedly started this war with the
help of Palestinians on October seventh. So there you go, Mandy Wrt supporting

(50:27):
Putin. Normal guys always let youdown. At least the psychos are committed.
You know what, there's some truthin that, some truth in that
one. There's a ton of corruptionright here in the good old USA.
Correct this text or hi, Mandy, you can always trust Putin to look
out for Putin. I guess thatmakes them trustworthy. Yeah, not for

(50:49):
me, Mandy. Maybe after eightyyears we should let europe police Europe amen
to that. But unfortunately they're incompetentand they don't spend enough on defense.
Hamas are not warriors. They areterrorists willing to fight to their last civilian.
Maybe I was talking about the Japanesepeople being a warrior culture, and
at that time, the Japanese peoplewere very much warrior, warrior culture,

(51:12):
a lot of honor in the warriorculture. I certainly was not referring to
Hamas as warriors. I think theyare. They are the worst of humanity,
all wrapped up in a ball witha scarf ond And now that version
of humanity has infested Ivy League schools, bringing it full circle. Uh,

(51:36):
the Russian Ukraine War is the equivalentof the Spanish Civil War in the nineteen
thirties, a test bed for weaponsand tactics maybe, And that's disconcerting because
that means World War three is probablyright around the corner. When we get
back, we're going to go ina totally different direction. Because my friend
Lyn Koshul reached out to me andsaid, you've got to talk about this

(51:57):
girl who's coming to speak for theIrapa Ho Lincoln Day dinner. She's dynamite
and I'm going to talk to Lynnabout it right after this. You can
still buy your tickets. We'll talkabout that next. If you are a
Republican in a Rapa county or elsewhere. There are great things happening in local
Republican parties. And joining me nowis Lynn Cottrell to talk about what's happening
with the Arapahoe County Republican Lincoln DayDinner. Hi Lynn, Hi Mandy,

(52:22):
thanks for having me on. Well, you guys in a Rapo County.
And this is when I said thisearlier in the show. I get these
emails from Republicans who are very upsetat what the state leadership is doing,
and I tell them get involved inyour local organizations because there are great people
working really hard locally at you know, on the ground that are not insane.

(52:45):
And I'm not going to ask youto comment on that comment, but
that's my comment on that. Andthis is a perfect example, and the
Arapa County Republican Party is planning afantastic annual dinner. Tell me a little
bit about your keynote speaker Isabelle Brown. All right, Isabelt is a gen
Z And in fact, you werecommenting on the gen Z generation of Mendigo,
did you. I did not.I got distracted by the Broncos trading

(53:07):
for Zach Wilson and it threw thatout the window. But I'll come back
to that later in the show.Okay, because is felt she wrote a
book called The End of the Alphabet, How gen Z Can Save America.
She is speaking in college campuses activistorganization. She's finding gen Z is kind

(53:30):
of like kids rebel against the previousgeneration. Gen Z she's signing is rebelling
against the present one and what's happeningin our country. She said, They're
wanting to get married, They're wantinghomes, the e by homes, they're
wanting children. She's seeing a dramaticshift, which I think is so encouraging

(53:50):
and uplifting, which I think wouldbe fun message to hear, because there
isn't a lot of uplifting and hopefulthings going on in our party right now,
especially in our state. So,but you're absolutely right. The county
party is not the state right. We are very separate from that, and
I'm long agree, totally agree withyou about things. And we are working

(54:13):
very hard to elect candidates to thestate and the state level and county level.
So we encourage people to support usand help us do that. So
we're excited about her. She's theysay she's a rising star. Well,
it sounds like and it's always nice. Ross had on a young man named

(54:34):
Coleman Hughes earlier today, and heis a young, incredibly smart young man
who happens to be black, buthe is also an incredibly thoughtful young man
when talking about conservatism in a waythat I do think resonates with younger people
who are who are caught up inthis nonsense len of of having to deal

(54:57):
with the alphabet and all this gendercrap and and just general crap that doesn't
make any sense. And they're verymuch in my mind at least, I'm
looking at my daughter and her peers, and they're very much sort of drawn
back to the common sense that youand I grew up with, well exactly,
and that's what Isabel does. She'sreally empowering her generation to embrace conservative

(55:21):
values. And she's all over thecollege campuses. Interesting. She went to
CSU. She's originally from here, and she was very outspoken at CSU,
and she was being threatened and hermother would go with her to class,
not to protect her, but towitness anything that might happen to her.
I mean, she's a bull. She will speak out and take shoes,

(55:43):
doesn't back off. So we needpeople like that out there getting her message
out. Well. And you canbuy Isabel's book and get it signed at
the event, I guess yes.Or you can buy the ticket online and
buy the sign book in advance.Oh there you go. Yeah, yeah,
but she will be there or shecould personalize it for you. But
it's just twenty five dollars online andthirty dollars at the event. So yeah,

(56:06):
when you buy your ticket, getthe book. I did. And
tickets are one hundred and ten foran individual, two hundred for a couple.
But if you're twenty five and under, the tickets are just ninety dollars.
I like that. Yeah a lot. What are you guys using this
money for? Oh well, wesport the candidates. Getting out the vote
for our Republican candidates. This mostimportant thing our county party can do.

(56:29):
Lynn, I'd like to see.I'd like to I hope anyway that if
you're in a Rapaho county and you'reone of those people as are registered are,
but you've never really been involved withthe party, right, this would
be a great opportunity to come andmeet some people and learn a little bit
about what local party politics looks like. And I can assure you that for
the most part, not everywhere. There are some pockets and wack of noodles

(56:52):
in my mind, but for themost part, the local parties are where
you're just going to meet really nicepeople who just want to spread conservative ideals
and believe that they're best for thevoters. Absolutely, I call them the
more normal people. It's like therhinos, you know, Republicans the name

(57:12):
of sanity. Yes, yes,Lynn, that's exactly what it is.
That's exactly what it is. Well, I put a link on the blog
today if you'd like to buy tickets, you can go do that at the
blog or just go to a Rapahorepublicansdot org and that'll take you to the
main page and you can just clickon the event page and find them from
there and all the information is there. So Lynn, I so appreciate you

(57:37):
spearheading this. I know you gota lot on your plate, but you
are just a non You're like theenergizer bunny of raising money for the causes
that you believe in. And Ijust so appreciate you. Well, thank
you, Mandy. I appreciate thatand so joy to me. And you
know, it's it's an honor tobe able to do these things and as
long as they can. All right, Lynn, Well another thing, man,

(57:59):
go ahead, like people to bringtheir kids. Oh yes, you
know that would be you know yousaid we have under twenty seven, but
you know atgen Z's are twelve totwenty seven, right, so you know,
bring any kids and just grab somekids off the street. Just bring
some kids. We we got todo something because I don't know what's happening

(58:20):
to them, because they're acting likeidiots at college. So true, yeah,
so true. Okay, many, thank you so much, No problem,
Lane, We'll we'll talk about anotheramazing event in the near future.
I'm sure, all right, thankyou. All right, that's Lynn Control.
You know, Lynn and her husbandBo are fixtures in fundraising circles for
Veterans' causes and for other things, and they are just incredible. They're they're

(58:47):
those people that the rest of itjust just kind of take for granted that
they're going to do all the work, because they do. And it's just
an I admit it when I saidit was an honor to have her on
the show. I have a lotof admiration for Lynn and her energizer bunny
stance of everything. Now I wantto ask this question. I don't want
to spend a ton of time onit. But I was thinking about this

(59:08):
because when I first got here toColorado, one of the first things I
did when I was doing my morningshow on KHW was ask people like,
what do I need to see inColorado? And I got this huge,
comprehensive list, and we've seen alot of stuff. I have not made
it over to Masa County, thewestern Slope Paonia. I want to do

(59:29):
that. I haven't made it aGrand Junction yet, and I haven't made
it to Four Corners, So thoseare basically the areas that I'm going to.
But I saw a story on theColorado National Monument and it looks stunning,
absolutely stunning. So I'm putting thaton the list. And I was
just wondering, where are some ofthe hidden gems that maybe you guys know

(59:50):
about or recommend, but aren't likethe you know, the biggies that everybody
goes to. I also have alink on the blog today about reservations for
Hanging Lake. Hanging is still underconstruction, so you have to have a
reservation, and the reservation system opensat the end of this month. So
if you want a reservation a HangingLake. The sad part about that is
is that most of us that havevisited Hanging Lake just stop by on the

(01:00:14):
way west. You know what Imean, Like, Oh, let's stop
by Hanging Lake. The last twotimes I have stopped by, we were
unable to get a parking space andjust kept going because we just we couldn't
park. So those two things. But I'm wondering if you guys have any
suggestions, We'll get them in thenext segment and you can hit the text
line at five six six nine.Oh, I'd love to know where you're

(01:00:36):
hidden gems that you think people shouldknow about in Colorado, but not too
many people because we don't want itto be super crowded. Secret locations in
Colorado coming up next. Do youguys never let me down when I ask
questions about Colorado. And I lovethe fact that everybody loves this state so

(01:00:57):
very much. So here we go. As Colorado native. I like treating
myself to Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resortin Nathrop south of Bunivista. Heaven on
Earth. Billy from Strasburg, Billy, I share that with you. I
love Mount Princeton Hot Springs. Likewhen we first moved here, it was
one of the first hot springs thatwe went to, and I was ready
to buy a place in Bunavista, and I should have because now it's just

(01:01:22):
so expensive down there. It's insane. One of my absolute favorites. We
go there as often as possible.Mandy. I'm a native from southern Colorado
up close to Colorado Springs. Igo to Lake San Ismael and Bishop Castle
for day trips. I still havenot if you've gone to Bishop's Castle,
have you done that? Aron,I haven't done that. Yeah, And
uh is it hell? What?It is so unsafe? It's scary.

(01:01:46):
We cannot go that high. Noone has died there yet. Keyword.
Yeah, I'm just saying, haveyou a freak path? Now? I
know I haven't. That's when Iwrote that down. I wrote that down
on my own my list. Meknow when you go and tell me I'm
wrong. Yeah, Hello, Mandy, Cassa Beanita, y'all, I am
still on the damn waiting list atCassabanita. I have not gotten my email.

(01:02:09):
It is not calm. I'm sickof it. I got my email.
Shut up? Yeah, well doyou get to go. Well,
we're gonna we have until like midJune to accept and go, so we're
gonna go after we're done with acruise. How did you get yours?
Because I got mine? You know, we sign up the second that you
were allowed to, and you've gotlike my fifteen fifteen email accounts on there?

(01:02:32):
Hang on, I haven't gotten mine. I get their marketing crap.
But what did your email subject linesay? Stand by you gotta find it?
Hang on, hang on, hangon. The weight is over.
Oh my god, I got mytoo, I got my two. Yeah,
you have through June for I do. At least hang on doesn't say

(01:02:55):
when I have through, it saysthank you for signing up for email list.
The wait is finally over and Ihave through June fifteenth to clang on,
hang on looking right here. We'renot going to go on a diet.
So we got they expired? Yeah? Oh when did you get it?
When did you get it? Ididn't want to talk about it.

(01:03:15):
When did you get it? Howlong? O? Oh it was my
spam folder? Wow? So there, Yeah, you got it. You
messed up. Well, still notgoing to Castevanina anyway. Best place in
Colorado is when you enter Nebraska reallymay. Severity is on my list as
well. We have not been toSeverity Beautiful when I was a kid.

(01:03:36):
Yeah. Is that where they havethe cliff stuff? Uh, the the
cliff stuff? Yeah, it's likeinside yeah, the houses or whatever like
inside the like yeah yeah yeah.Bishop Castle, that's another one for Bishop
Castle. Let's see. Let mego down to the bottom. So I
make sure Strawberry Springs Hot Springs outsideSteamboat. I want to go there,

(01:03:59):
but I'm get nicked around people, and that's a nicked place at night,
right. I really want to throwout one and be nice, but I
don't want to get too overpopulated becausethere already is. Was the last time
you went to Glenwood Hot Springs? And I mean the same way. I
love Glenwood. Well, you loveGlenwood, but have you been to the
newer No, it's their open stuff. Oh Mountain Hotsprings. Yeah, we'll
go there the next time. ButGlenwood has actually got they got a whole

(01:04:21):
new pool system opening up, sothey've experienced. Say this with all due
respect, because I do love GlenwynHot Springs and it's the og once you
go to Iron Mountain Hot Springs andGlenwood. Yeah, I'll never go back
to the other one. Okay,it's got like at least thirty I think
they doubled it private ten person pools, all at different temps. Yeah,

(01:04:42):
way more enjoyable experience, getting todrink, have some fun. They're adding
a drinking pool back at Glenwood HotSprings. I mean Glenwood Spring. I
love Glenwood the original, like thebig giant pool. Everyone thinks so,
but Iron Mountain. I had togo and get more text message just show
because I've got so many in therecoming in so fast. Uh. Durrango
Silverton Railroad. We already did.We did that as a show trip actually,

(01:05:04):
and it was fantastic and I lovedit. And Creed Antler's Lodge and
campground. Where's Creed Creedy anything?I don't know anything in Colorado? What
anything in Colorado is? What thishappened to? You know? Just hidden
gems like not your biggies, right. Indian Hot Springs and Idaho Springs.
Okay, you know I've been there. That's fantastical. Nice. Uh,

(01:05:26):
Durango Straight or Hotel stay there. We've been to Durango, Indian Hot springs.
You get to go in the poolif you get a massage too.
It's like included. Oh nice, like one hundred persons. Very nice.
Let me scroll down here, letme go up here? What's that one
amusement parker on goes to you anymore? Which one the one hearing the mess?
No? Not? Ye? Whichis the other one? Oh?

(01:05:46):
Lakewood? Like no not lakeside, lakeside lakeside? Yeah, that hidden because
no one goes there anymore. Iknow it's it's very much there. Mandy
Grinnelli's Pizzeria and Castle Rock, Chicagogo style thin crust pizza. My husband
does not like Chicago thin pizza. He likes Chicago thick pizza. Well,
Chicago thin is kind of a doublenegative one. No, it's the Midwest.

(01:06:11):
Pizza can be almost cracker like thin, or Chicago pizza can be deep
dish. Yeah, but you saidboth in one pizza thin and Chicago.
Chicago has a thin pizza. That'sweird. Chicago can either be super thin
or it can be deep dish.I'm all in a thin pieza either one.
Mandy, just go to downtown Denver. It's like a third world country.
No, no, yeah, Leadvillewhat's in Leadville? I've heard of

(01:06:32):
it never been I don't think whatis in Leadville? What is? Why
should I go to lead with LeadvilleAirport has the cool restaurant the party place
now yeah, yeah, we justhad them on the air. I would
recommend Mesa Verde, which is closeto the four Corners. I would also
recommend going to Grand Lake. Binthere beautiful scenery, fund vacation area.

(01:06:54):
You can take boat rides on thelake. We actually rented a boat on
Grand Lake, which was the mostglorious day. Oh crap, I'm lake
for a break. I'll be rightback. I have swapped a rod for
Grant. It's okay with me.Hey, Grant, how you doing,
Grant? I just asked my listeningaudience to send me like hidden gyms of
places they had gone in Colorado, and I am I have an embarrassment of
riches right now on the text line. So I literally on the break,

(01:07:15):
I photographed because I I can't writethem down fast enough because they came in.
What are some of the places thatyou went to that you liked that
you feel like that's maybe underrated,a really underrated town. And I'm sure
you'll get some interesting comments on thistown after I bring it up. But
Trinidad. I had a fantastic mealin Trinidad. Where were we going.

(01:07:39):
I've done that a southern part likeI've done Pueblo, Trinidad. I've Doneisade.
I have not. That's another planet. I don't know if that's necessarily
a hidden gym though I know,I know, but there's But the Trinidad.
There is a an Indian restaurant ina days in right on the interstate

(01:08:00):
that is so good. We didnot check that place. What is it
like? Hang on one second, let me make sure that it's in Trinidad.
Sunset Grill, Trinidad. I thinkthat's it. I had a really
cool's bar and grill and the foodis crazy good and it's in a daz
in. All right, Well nexttime the next time. You know,
it's right on the interstate, anduh, that whole area, Like,

(01:08:23):
there's stuff to like about every place, you know what I mean that you
go to, there's there's stuff. And I try to remember this because we
we spend a tremendous amount of timeplanning these amazing vacations other places, you
know, but then people other placescome here to plan their amazing vacations,
and there's still stuff that I haven'tseen yet. Yeah, Trinidad had a

(01:08:44):
very very cool downtown area, somecool shops, antique stuff. Yeah,
we stumbled upon there was an OldWest like shootout going on. Yeah,
of course, I don't know whatholiday it was. Yeah, that's fine,
Old West shootout whatever, it justbroke out, were hanging out.
I do want to get one storythat I was gonna get in the two
minute drill, but the link wasbad. But I remember enough about the

(01:09:08):
story to share it with you.And it's about the woman who was looking
for a threesome and ended up gettingarrested. Yes, yes, indeedy.
The problem was that she didn't justgo to whatever website people go to to
find threesomes. She just walked intosomeone's apartment and they finally got her to

(01:09:28):
leave, but not before she createdsome kind of havoc. They called police.
The police track her down at CircleK, which I heard is where
everyone goes to find a threesome. You just head on down to the Circle
K. I'm kidding. I don'tknow of anyone who actually got a threesome
because of a Circle K, butnonetheless, the cops caught her there.

(01:09:48):
She was arrested in charged with likebreaking and entering because she just walked into
the people's apartment all kinds of stuff, and I'm sure some other stuff as
well. So here's the lesson andon that story. If you're looking for
a threesome, do not just walkin someone's house and ask. That is
not the way to do it.Now, I am not the right person

(01:10:11):
to tell you the way to doit, but that is not the way
to do it. Oh thank youthe person who said, Mandy just finished
by Colonosco being clean, don't needto have another for ten years. And
don't you feel lighter, you know, just but parsonal because they're all full
of gas, but lighter nonetheless atall. Trinidad is the sex change capital

(01:10:32):
of the country. Grant. Thereyou go. That was the interesting text
I was referring to for Olivia andI where we secretly got married before our
actual wedding was down in Trinidad ina little cabin. Okay, did not
know that? Yeah, I figureit's past. It's it's in the past
enough now that I can say that, Like what Saratoga, Wyoming, I've

(01:10:55):
already been there as well. Andthat's not in Colorado, that's in Wyoming,
and stop sending me stuff because Ican't. I can't write anymore down
You guys brought brought the goods.I will do a blog posting about that,
specifically some of them, although Iwill leave off because people said,
don't tell anybody else about this, and I know that well, being from
Florida where I'm from in Florida,I'm not from the beaches part of Florida.

(01:11:19):
I'm from Great Smack Dab in thecenter of the state, in the
north. But what we have aresprings. We have these natural, gorgeous,
always seventy two degree year round springs. And when I was a kid,
there were springs that you could onlyget to on horseback. There were
springs that you could only get toif you have permission to go on someone's

(01:11:40):
private property, and it was amazing. And now they've all been like taken
over by the state and made intostate parks, and it's horrible, absolutely
horrible. So I don't want todo that to people's private places in Colorado.
You know, I want to keepit so you can still go there.
But nonetheless I still want to knowbecause I want to go there when

(01:12:00):
we get back. Oh, man, I have a bunch of stuff on
the blog that, Oh, wegot to talk about this illegal immigrants demanding
This is my favorite line from anillegal immigrant who broke into the country and
made his way to Denver. Hesaid, and I quote the mayor doesn't
represent us. He needs to listento us and work with us to a
better solution. Do you know whatthey're complaining about? Six months free rent?

(01:12:25):
Grant? When you got your sixfree six months of rent when you
got here, did you complain aboutit? Nope? Did you get free
six months of rent when you gothere? Nope? Oh so weird,
so weird, so strange. Yeah, we're gonna talk about that a little
bit when we get back right afterthis. And Bill Maher has been on
fire as of late, and Iasked on Twitter, like, do people

(01:12:49):
on the left listen to Bill Maheranymore? But apparently they don't like him
anymore because he speaks the truth. And his latest in True Intro, he
does like a monologue. Excuse me, I got a hiccup here. He
does a monologue at the beginning ofa show, and this latest one,

(01:13:10):
I wish you wouldn't just he dropslike two F bombs into it, you
know what I mean. It's like, Bill, throw me at bone,
buddy. I'd love to play someof this on the air, but your
F bomb has just come out ofnowhere. But in this one, he
talks about the new series Quiet onthe Set. Have you seen this show?
Grant? My daughter Q said, can we watch Quiet on the Set?
And I'm like, yes we can. That's a Nickelodeon documentary and it
is about the dark side of children'stelevision. And Bill Maher, who does

(01:13:33):
not have children and actually says Idon't even really like children, finds himself
in the untenable position of having todefend children from this hyper sexualization. And
what I have to give Bill Mahera lot of credit for, especially in
this one, is he actually says, remember when Ron DeSantis called out Disney
for this and all the left wingersfreaked out, But now we see a

(01:13:55):
show about it on Nickelodeon and everybody'slike, oh my god, this would
be on the pale. Essentially,Ron DeSantis was right, And in this
one he goes even further, andhe directly goes after those on the left
that are all you know, havethe vapors to find out that Nickelodeon was
a hotbed of child grooming. Butat the same time, and the joke

(01:14:20):
is really funny, so I don'twant to ruin the joke, but he
makes the point of like, theseare the same people that are like,
uh, Drag Queen Story Hour,And he asked the question, is Drag
Queen Story Hour for the kids oris it for the queens? And that's
essentially the core of my issue. Why in the world does a drag queen
want availability of children? Why dothey want access to children? I mean,

(01:14:47):
I'm an adult, you guys, and occasionally we do these events like
the event we did with Ross.I don't care if you bring your kids,
but they're not events for kids, not because anything salacious is going on,
but because they're just not appropriate forkids. And as I've said many
times before, I've been to alot of drag shows. They are not
appropriate for kids. So why isit important that drag shows and drag queens

(01:15:08):
have access to children, Because itdoesn't make them any tolerant For your rank
and file gays, you know,a better way to do that is to
expand your circle of friends to includegay people. Living normal lives and not
wearing exaggerated makeup and being over sexualized. That's the best way to establish kindness

(01:15:28):
with your children. He even makesthe point, which I think is a
great point, that if you reallywant to teach kids to be tolerant,
have disabled people read stories to them. You know, this is one of
the things that I love about theunified sports programs in schools that are happening
today. This didn't happen when Iwas young. But in unified programs,

(01:15:48):
you have kids that have varying degreesof developmental disabilities and they are playing sports
with kids who have typical development. So you have kids that are, you
know, typically developed, that arenow dealing with kids who have some developmental
challenges. That is what gives themcompassion. That is the thing that causes

(01:16:10):
acceptance. How often is a kidgoing to run into a drag queen?
But Bill Maher is firmly on theside of not sexualizing children as I am
as I don't understand why any parentwould be against this, but here we
are. I really, you know, when I was a kid, we
didn't have to worry about any ofthis. The only things we worried about

(01:16:31):
is a kid were potentially being bombedto oblivion by Cuba because I grew up
in Florida, so we were only, you know, one short missile away
from total annihilation all that. Idon't know why they would bomb my hometown.
There was nothing going on there anyway, but we didn't have to worry
about this garbage. And we're puttingthings on kids that they have no business

(01:16:53):
having put on them. You know. I read a story the other day
that I thought was really interesting, and it was about how many famous people
now have kids that identify on somekind of trans spectrum. Ben Affleck and
Jennifer Garner's daughter has now come out. She shaved her head and she's going

(01:17:15):
by Finn now and she's non binary. There is a real housewife of Beverly
Hills, Heather du Brow, whohas four children and all four of them
are on some kind of either gayor trans or non binary or whatever.
You're telling me that before now afraction of a fraction of people were transgender.

(01:17:38):
But now you have four kids inthe same family, what do we
do into our children here? Andyou've got to watch this thing by Bill
Mahre. It is absolutely fantastic.I mean, just fantastic that is on
the blog today at mandy'sblog dot com. I've got to do this story about
the illegal immigrants here in Denver.Now. We know that because we are
a welcoming city, as the governorsays, we're a welcoming city that Colorado

(01:18:00):
and Denver specifically has bent over backwardsto assist these people who have walked over
the southern border and made their wayup to Denver. We have spent millions
and millions of dollars sixty eight milliondollars helping these people who have walked up
South America or wherever they came from, most of them from Venezuela. But

(01:18:24):
it is not good enough. Nope. Our new asylum seekers program that is
not good for any new arrivals afterApril tenth, has now been slammed as
being not generous enough. Yeah.Yeah. The program as it stands now,
will provide six months of free housing, food assistants, workforce training,

(01:18:47):
and more to the approximately one thousandmigrants currently in the city's shelter system as
they await authorization to work, whichdue to federal asylum seeker laws, can
take up to one hundred and eightydays. Johnston's office said, after more
than a year of facing this crisistogether, Denver has finally a sustainable plan
for treating our newcomers with dignity whileavoiding the worst cuts to city services.

(01:19:11):
But the problem is is that it'snot good enough for the migrants. Advocacy
group house Keys Action Network decried thechanges, telling local ABC affiliate that the
shift would overwhelm groups working to helpmigrants. Every new migrant that is going
to be left to fend for themselvesafter twenty four to seventy two hours that

(01:19:32):
from the hand spokesman, it's aslap in the face and an offensive period
of time. Migrant Willie Bastidas saidthe policy would only exacerbate the homelessness crisis
families are facing. He told thenews station, I think it's insufficient.
The mayor doesn't represent us. Heneeds to listen to us and work with

(01:19:55):
us to a better solution. Igot it to tell you, guys.
That is I wonder how that landedat the Mayor's office. I would have
loved to a bit of fly onthe wall to see that when the mayor
read the mayor who has bent overbackwards to make sure that he was as

(01:20:15):
welcoming as possible, spending millions oftaxpayer dollars on people who have not paid
taxes, people who did not comehere the right way, people who walked
across the southern border because Joe Bidenrefuses to secure it, and they're demanding
more because this isn't enough. Howmany of you moved to Colorado in the
past ten years and got six monthsof free housing, workforce assistance, and

(01:20:39):
all of that stuff just for free, no cost to you. How many
of you did that because I didn'tget that when I moved here. This
is the kind of stuff that isgoing to end up backfiring and take It's
going to take big hearted liberals andturn them into people that they don't want
to be. It's absolutely insane. What's happening. That is linked on the

(01:21:05):
blog as well. By the way, that was a New York Post story,
not a local story, not alocal Denver story. That was a
New York Post story. So thereyou go. Democrats in Colorado are voting
on bills that they want to workon next year, and surprise, surprise,
y'all, every single one of themthat they named a priority has one

(01:21:29):
thing in common. Whatever it isit takes Tabor refunds to pay for it.
They hate our Tabor refunds so much, and they hate them so completely
that they want to make sure there'snothing left by spending it on other things.
Now, genuinely, I don't knowhow taking our taber refunds to spend

(01:21:54):
on something else is an attax increase, because it is because our Tabor refunds
are just that, And if theytake our refunds, then they have spent
the money that is ours without ourpermission. Now, if you want to
know what they want to spend yourmoney on, they want to provide a
tax credit for converting a commercial buildingto a residential structure. They want an

(01:22:17):
omnibus bill that includes expansion of thestate earned income tax credit and the childcare
expensive Tax Credit. They want todo an expensive tax credit bill which provides
a family affordability tax credit that wouldcost six hundred and fifty five million dollars.
By the way, they also wantto do a rural jumpstart program,

(01:22:42):
and they want to do a seniorhousing tax credit. All of those would
come from our Tabor refunds. Soit doesn't matter what we say, it
doesn't matter what we do. Thetable refunds are going to be used to
pay for everything that they want todo because it is just there's no one
to stop them. There's no oneleft to stop them. And Dick Wadham's
longtime GOP guy here in Colorado, has a column that is almost on fire.

(01:23:11):
It's so scathing about the latest move. Now we are in an election
cycle, there are going to beRepublicans running for office, and instead of
raising money for those Republicans to supporttheir runs, as we near November,
the Colorado Republican Party is trying toraise fifty thousand dollars to send to California

(01:23:32):
Attorney John Eastman to continue a alreadyfailed lawsuit targeting unaffiliated voters who make up
nearly half of the Colorado electorate. Now they're still trying to stop the ability
of unaffiliateds to participate in primaries. They're still trying to stop this. But

(01:23:56):
here's what's going to happen. TheDemocratic candidates are still going to be on
the ballot, and that means thatthe Republican Party is basically told all of
the unaffiliateds that they have to winthe votes of in order to win.
In Colorado, Republicans are hopelessly outnumberedin terms of party affiliation. So you
cannot win a race in Colorado.Well, maybe there's some smaller districts where

(01:24:19):
perhaps you could with just Republicans, but you certainly can't win a statewide race
or a congressional race. Even Idon't think there's any congressional districts that are
so lopsided that you could just winwith Republican votes. So instead of trying
to expand the reach and figure outa way to appeal to unaffiliated voters,
they are trying to lock them outof the process. And this column by

(01:24:43):
Dick Wadhams takes no prisoners. Letme just read this one paragraph. It
doesn't take the proverbial rocket scientists tofigure no candidate Republican or Democrat can win
a general election in Colorado without winninga majority of unaffiliated voters. Current state
Republican leaders, and that's in quotationmarks are intent on telling unaffiliated voters to

(01:25:06):
get lost. They believe the partymust be purged and purified not only of
unaffiliated voters, but also of thoseRepublicans who refuse to worship at the altar
of stolen election conspiracy theories. Theconspiracists who run the state party have very
creative theories as to why Republicans havelost every state wide election since twenty eighteen

(01:25:28):
while Democrats build massive state legislative majorities. They ascribed these losses to unaffiliated voters
being allowed to vote in the Republicanprimary. They ignore the reality of how
deeply disliked Trump is by the unaffiliatedvoters, which is infected virtually every Republican
candidate. Laughably, they contend ifRepublican candidates had just campaigned more like Trump,

(01:25:51):
they would have won, despite thefact Trump himself lost Colorado by four
points to Hillary Clinton in twenty sixteen, by fourteen points to Joe Biden in
twenty twenty. You can't get moreTrump like than Trump himself. But then
their conspiratorial fallback is led by failedtwenty twenty two Senate candidate Ron Hanks,

(01:26:13):
who claims the Chinese stole Colorado fromTrump. It's not a good time to
be a Republican because the state wideleadership is a mess. But get involved
at the local level in your localcounty parties. They are doing good work
and they're actually trying to get Republicanselected here in Colorado, and that my
friends is going to be an uphillswing for the foreseeable future because of the

(01:26:40):
state leadership. Doesn't mean it can'tbe done. But as long as you've
got wack of noodles like Dave Williamsrunning things, it's going to be very
hard to get Republican. You know, I'm just gonna say this, part
of me, and I'm not surehow large a part part of me,
wants Steve Williams to be successful inpurging the party of a decent, level

(01:27:05):
headed, moderately thinking, realistic Republicanswho love the state and want to get
things done. And I hope hegets all of his candidates on the ballot,
and I hope they get their asseshanded to them on a platter in
November. It would be more shortterm pain for long term gain, because

(01:27:25):

Republican Party gets pulled back from thebrink. Here. Until the party is
purged of people like Dave Williams,we're never going to get anywhere in this
state. So there you go.It's you know, if that's going to
make it happen. It's like rippingoff the band aid, right, just
rip it off. Then the newsman'sin here for his daily beating. Just
