(00:00):
We're gonna get back to that ina second. I just remembered a Rod.
A Rod comes back from the RNCwith us on Thursday, and then
he kisses his wife, changes theclothes in his suitcase, and off he
goes to Cooperstown where he had theopportunity to watch Todd Hilton be inducted into
Baseball's Hall of Fame. And nowA Rod joins us to talk about it.
How awesome was that? A rodManny? It was. It was

(00:22):
pretty pretty darn epic, pretty darnepic, so epic that I didn't I
didn't get into last night, backinto Denver until two thirty in the morning,
shut the front door. Fantastic delay. And then and then back in
this morning, which is why I'mnot with you today. Back in this
morning to run the morning stuff atabout five thirty. So yeah, you
know, a couple hour turnaround. But it was, it was incredible.

(00:45):
It was incredible. Mister Rocky, the franchise leader in just about every offensive
category is officially in the Hall ofFame. And you know, Cooperstown is
no joke. It is awesome.Population usually I say of eighteen hundred,
and I was told about thirty thousandpeople who descended upon the city of Cooper's

(01:08):
Town, and that was a lot. But Cooper's Town is cool, the
museum is spectacular, and and ToddHilton's speech was was something else. You
actually had a chance to sit downwith Todd Hilton tell me about that.
I did. I did. Iwas very very grateful to the Rockies helping
to make that happen. It definitelyhad to be a perfect timing because a
lot of us, including myself andand folks with the Rockies had had to

(01:32):
get on planes that that night, just like a lot of people that were
going to this thing. But yeah, I got a chance to chat with
him first and foremost. A weekago, he had mentioned that he doesn't
he doesn't feel like a Hall ofFamer, And if you've ever listened to
Todd Hilton speak to the media,he's not. And I say this,
it doesn't sound it doesn't sound likethe way it's gonna sound. But he

(01:55):
doesn't. He doesn't like talking themedia. He doesn't like the spotlight.
This was a guy that in theseventies years here. He he's a baseball
first guy. He's a normal guy. And you even heard it in his
first in the first few moments ofhis speech on Sunday that he said he'd
rather be doing anything else. Butin my interview with him, he was
super gracious with his time. Iasked him about whether it feels like a

(02:16):
Hall of Famer now, and hestill thinks that he hasn't sunk in yet,
But he was grateful as he saidto me, and I quote,
I'm just glad it didn't didn't peemyself up there, which is which is
good. But then I also askedhim because he this is a guy that
I think it was it was veryimportant to him to be a one franchise
guy. He is obviously very famouslysaid he much have rather gone to the

(02:42):
World Series with the Rockies and lost. It's just basically just gone to the
World Series of the Rockies versus winningwith anyone else. And he just loves
the city of Denver. He stillhas his fifteen hundred square foot ranch up
in Well County that he a weekago had mentioned that it's his favorite place
on Earth. Yeah, and sohe just reiterated that love for love for
Denver and and and he really likeshis role now with the team that he

(03:06):
talked to me about about how he'sAh, I believe it's uh basically a
mentorship role in the organization. SoI chatted with him about that, and
he he loves doing that. Andwhen I asked him, uh, when
I asked him, now that you'rea Hall of Famer, I mean you
already were, Todd Helton, youalready were mister Rocky. But now that
you're a Todd Hilton Hall of Famer, do you think these guys are gonna
listen to you even more? Andhe was response was, well, their

(03:29):
little ass is better of listened tome before I was a Hall of Famer.
So he was, he was,he was, He was himself.
He's a normal guy and the fanslove him for it. Uh you know
what it's I'm thrilled for him becauseof everything you just said. You want
the down to earth guys to getthe accolades, and a lot of times
they don't. You know, it'sthe superstars. It's people like Barry Bonds

(03:51):
who are jerks in the media. But Todd Helton was our guy. And
what a great thing for Todd Heltonand the Rockies that we now have Todd
Helton cooper Stown. Well does there? And I'm thrilled that you got to
go up there and cover it.If you don't follow our social media,
you probably missed all of the videostuff that a Rod posted on Koa's Twitter
page and his Facebook. So checkit all out because it's all there,

(04:12):
and I will see you what nextweek when you're back on a normal schedule.
Yes, yeah, we've got alot of crete stuff going on this
week, and we've also got ourtraining cam coverage. And I will say
across any platform if you want aneasy way to search it, we use
the hashtag Koa Helton Hof that showsall the different content. I have my
little tour of all the Todd heldoneditions in the in the in the Cooperstown

(04:36):
and Hall of Fame museum that isthere. It's it's it's a lot of
fun. Obviously, the exclusive interviewto sit down with one on one with
Todd, all the stuff from allthe fans. A lot of Rockies fans
made the trip to Cooperstown and theyall said, you know, this is
our guy, Like they were veryhappy about Larry Walker going in four years
ago, but this was this isthe home guy. He's not from Denver,
but he basically is because he wasthere his entire career. So I

(04:57):
have a lot of different cool soundbites and snippets from all the fans that
traveled and and and loved their lovetheir trip and did it for Todd and
so oh yeah, all that contentacross all of our platforms at KO Colorado.
It was. It was a treat. I I loved every single minute
of it. Very much worth theone hour of sleep I got last night.
All Right, man, I'll seeyou next week. Audios, think
that is a ride.
