(00:00):
What I do trust is our chiefmeteorologists from Fox thirty one, Dave Frasier,
who I have to Oh, hey, hey, oh, it's like
you just appeared in a cloud oflightning, Dave. So exciting. Dave,
please tell me this smoke is goingsoon. It is. We're we
are within hours later this afternoon andcertainly through the evening of seeing this kind

(00:21):
of migrate a little further east ofColorado, so you should start to see
improving quality. I'm looking at itfrom space right now, and it is
a little thinner. It's obviously stillnoticeable to the naked eye, but it
is a little thinner. The thickestsmoke is already shifting towards the eastern border,
so you should start to notice laterthis evening and certainly tomorrow less and
less smoke in the air. Well. I just found out this morning that

(00:43):
there are a couple massive wildfires atOregon, like massive, So are we
going to is this going to belike we don't have smoke for a few
days, then we have smoke again. What does our future wind projection look
like in the next couple of weeks? Because I have I have like seventy
five friends and family coming in fromout of town next week for Chuck's birthday,
so I want them to be ableto see the mountains. Are they

(01:03):
going to be able to see themountains? Yes, So what we're having
happen is, as we get there'san area of high pressure to our west
and circulating around that clockwise, theair is picking up the flow aloft is
picking up the smoke from up intoOregon and also the Canadian wildfires, and
it's pointing it over the eastern planes. That high is starting to move to

(01:25):
the east, which means the pointingof the smoke is going to go more
into the Midwest. And then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we have rain
chances, so we're not anticipating anysmoke coming back our way. The question
is early next week, if thathigh pressure slides a little farther west and
they don't get a handle on thefires, and that's the forecast question that
we can't answer, then yes,we might see some smoke trickle back in.

(01:49):
But if they can get a handleon the fires, or they can
get some help from other nature andkind of lower the amount of smoke from
those roaring wildfires, then we won'thave to worry about. But I will
tell you at least through the weekweekend you should be okay. What about
next weekend? Do we know anythingabout that now? And somebody wanted to
know how you got into space. You said you were looking at the smoke
from space, and they're like, how did Dave get into space? How

(02:10):
do you get that gig? Dave? Yeah, I actually wouldn't be a
bad gag. Now I'm looking atthe satellite picks. I'm looking at a
visible satellite from space, and youcan clearly see the smoke in Haye.
As far as next weekend, it'sa little too far outside of the seven
day to give you any type ofsomething that I would you guarantee. But
at this point, you know,it does look like we're going to transition
out of July and go into August. Above normal normals around ninety so we're

(02:35):
thinking somewhere around ninety five degrees eachday. Seem to be a lot of
rain. Friday Saturday this week isour best chance. But even then you're
only talking to thirty forty percent champsof scattered storm, so we could use
some rain, There's no question aboutit. We'll keep an eye on the
smoke forecast. We've been using itnightly to kind of depict with color coding
where the thickest smoke is. ButI've already been looking at that and it
has improved dramatically from where we wereyesterday. So again it's still out there.

(03:00):
Well, if you're sensitive to thatkind of a thing, you want
to limit your time outside from midafternoon to early evening. That's when it's
generally the thickest, and then afterthat it disperses that you should notice rapid
improvement tonight and certainly tomorrow. Nowlet me ask you this. The National
Weather Service just came out with thekind of three month forecast and they say
we are going to be hot anddry. What are your thoughts on that,

(03:21):
Like, overly hot and overly dry. Yeah, I mean that's been
the outlook for the summer, andI wouldn't I'm not surprised to see that
for the next three months. Butagain, we talk all about those long
range outlooks. It tells you nothingabout the day to day weather. So
June ended up being a little abovenormal and dry as we know, so
that verified July is running a littlebehind by half an inch. So we

(03:44):
are a little dry, and itdoesn't look like we'll be able to pick
up that moisture, so July willcome out dry as well. But it
doesn't mean we're completely parched and baked. Okay, buttures actually believe it or
not. You know, two weekendsago we had those a ninety nine to
one hundred degree day, which tippedthe scale to warmer than normal. But
then last weekend we had that refreshingchange and that tipped the scale back to

(04:05):
normal. So the temperatures are goingback and forth again the day to day.
Yeah, we're going to have bouts. I remember we're in the dog
days of summer till about the middleof August, and then we'll start to
see rain chamsons increasing. Of course, welcome September October with open arms.
Well, I just had one lastquestion before I let you go, and
it is about last weekends like torrentialdownpour. This person said, what kind

(04:29):
of storm was it? Some peoplesaid a squall, some just said Colorado
in the summer. Curious if youhad any details from that storm specifically.
It was a little of both.It was a cold front that came in.
Everybody noticed the difference between the temperatureswhich were in the eighties. On
Saturday, the humidity had come up, cold front came in and along that
axis it kicked up a pretty goodsquall is a good way to define it.

(04:51):
A line of showers and thunderstorms thatwere pretty vigorous. They were dumping
rain, the wind was blowing itsideways. It came down and hard for
a period of time. It hadthe hail with it, which is never
fun. The moisture content that wegot half towards was pretty good. That's
what got us kind of closer toback on track with the month of July.
So one day event we picked upthree quarters of an inch. That's

(05:13):
a lot one day. So yeah, it was definitely due to the cold
front. And then of course wehad those refreshing temperatures with fifties in the
morning on Sunday and only seventies inthe afternoon. I loved it. It
was fantastic. Dave Frasier, we'lltalk to you next Wednesday for a full
and proper weather Wednesday. But inmy giant half hour show, I'm going
to try and get some other stuffin here as well. I'll talk to
you later, my friend. Allright, go Rockie, all right?

(05:35):
That's Dave Frasier.
