Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, we are back, and you know, I don't
know if you guys realize this, but the election is
so close to being here. A few more weeks and
then we'll have at least three to four weeks before
someone else declares for twenty twenty eight. So we've just
we'll enjoy it while it's over. But before that, there
is a big old rally being planned for November two.

(00:21):
It's a Sunday at Pike's Peak Motor Speedway. And joining
me now to talk about that is Natalie Tennant with
Never Surrender.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hi Natalie, Hi, Andy, how are you? Oh?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
No, my pleasure. I want people to be able to
market on their calendar, and we'll remind him as it
gets closer too. But what don't you tell people a
little bit? First of all, what your organization is all about.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
So we're a lot of things that's that's kind of
hard to pack, building community within community. We're America first.
We support a lot of things that are happening in
our communities, and we gather support for those things, whether
it's small routes, small convoys people. You know, the government

(01:03):
tried to take over Pelosi Farms or you know, all
the hot topics like you know, what's going on in Aurora,
so we try to bring attention to that and we
try to bring support to that. But it's just patriotism.
It's you know, we believe in America and we want
to stand on America first values and we want a rally.
So let's make rallies great again, is what I say.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
So tell me what's going on before the election, A
big get out the vote rally.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
It is. Yes, we will have John Fabricatory, our lovely
Lauren Bobert, Valdimir Archiletta, pretty much most of the CV
candidates as well as some local candidates. We have the
mayor of Magaville for Giada, Blow has come in to
perform for us. We have so much more to unpack

(01:54):
and that we're working on to try to get out
appreciate the whole team putting this together. So there's more
to come, but it's already getting big and it's getting bigger.
So I ask people easy way for this is to
go to our website, which is Never Surrender National dot com.
You can have links to our Twitter and our Facebook

(02:16):
so you could stay updated on more to come, as
well as find the link on the website as well
as the social media to buy the tickets, and they're
early bird pricing right now ten bucks. Ten bucks to
go to an all day event to be with like
minded conservative patriots and just have fun. We'll have booths
their educational informational boosts. It's going to be a beautiful day, Mandy,

(02:38):
It's going to be a very beautiful day.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Well. I put a link on my blog to the event,
and yeah, so people can go straight to the blog.
It's right at the top there.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
One of the things that is happening here in Colorado
is that we are you know, we've got to like
Republicans to our state House and our state legislation because
we're perilously close to a super majority of Democrats in
both houses. And as much as I am not a
fan of the politics of our governor, he did veto

(03:10):
the worst of their impulses, right, So if they get
a super majority in both the House and the Senate,
there's nothing to stop the worst impulses of those in
the hard left that are in the legislature.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
So I agree with you. I go ahead one million percent.
Because I got very active this year with this organization
and this group and the thing that's killing me right
now is the illegals. I got together with my Board
of Commissioners in La County and it was a long fight.
But what ended up coming out of that is Ordnance

(03:44):
twenty twenty four h zero five, which means, well, county
is not giving out our tax are county tax dollars
to these illegals. They're not going to get anything here.
So I have a huge passion with that now. Because
of that, I've also lit have fied Mice to repeat
some bills, So there's a lot of bills out there.
It's very important that we do flip seats and we

(04:06):
get these Republicans elected so we can get out of
that minority. We could start to make a change here
in Colorado. I mean, God bless john Sabrigatory and all
of them out there fighting this because this is a
hot topic for me as well, and I know you
speak on it a lot.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Oh It's it's been a very hot topic. And we
started out today talking about the fact that Daniel Drinsky
begged in a city council meeting for the governor to
call her, and the governor called the cops. Instead. It's ridiculous,
it's beyond ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Republicans yep, so elected.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Yes exactly, well, Natalie, change vote read yes so. Tickets
are just ten dollars. It's an all day event two
pm to ten pm at Pike's Peak International Raceway on Saturday,
November two. Again, I put a link on the blog
and Natalie we'll touch base again right before so we
can remind people about it.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I appreciate Mandy, thank you so much.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
