Speaker 1 (00:00):
Human h.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Final Hour, Friday Football Feast, Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple Valley,
and here we are. I mean, what a what a
hell of a crowd here at six and a radio.
But we're about to find ourselves at w at the
Giants this Sunday of MetLife and continue this party here.
Uh may I may I ask you guys some things
NFL at large related bits of course, if you allow
(00:59):
me to bend your year momentarily. So just kind of
becoming fascinated as our team finds its way out of
the playoffs and just how things, especially after last night's game,
just kind of looking at season awards. Now you know
MVP is gonna get the biggest talker. And I am
kind of curious after last night, by the way, because
it's still the MVP favorite Stafford and Drake up top.
(01:19):
But I wonder if bo Nix and Darnald, who are
both one hundred to one, Like there's this massive grand
canyon chasm between the top two or three favorites, Josh
Allen towards the top, but then you got bow Knicks
and mister Darnald at one hundred to one. I just
wonder if those odds start to change over the next
days and weeks.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Bo Nix has another really big spot this weekend against
the Jaguars. Yeah, it's kind of an interesting game. The
Jaguars have been pretty hot. I could not believe last
week when I checked the scores. You know you're journeying
to the Arlington Stadium. I mean you check the score,
you see bow Knicks against the Packers had that type
of game, Like, I just couldn't believe that because bone
(02:00):
Nicks for me is like sometimes I think he's good.
Sometimes I'm like, what the heck? And I mean that
was that was highly impressive.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Well, I'm glad you brought up the Jaguars because that's
where I wanted to start. So Coach of the Year
and this could be a flavor thing, this could be
wherever you want to take it. But the list as
it is now is Vrabel's the favorite. I don't have
the specific odds. They're actually locked out, so maybe change
is on the horizon here at FanDuel Sportsbook, But it's
Vrabel into McDonald into Shanahan with the Niners.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Into Cohen, No Ben Johnson.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Ben Johnson's much farther down the list. No Ben Johnson,
And that was so a that was surprising to me
be this this Coach of the Year award has kind
of changed into who makes the biggest turnaround and therefore
Ben Johnson and the Bears should be part of that conversation.
But Vrabel up top again, massive turnaround, Drake May second year.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
McDonald for me needs to be part of it.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Shanahan's lying in the weeds, but Cohen and Duvau.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
What he's been able to do year one is super
remarkable and impressive. Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
They traded for Jacoby Myers like a month ago and
that has really just altered the course of their offense.
And then they just paid Jacoby Myers like extended him
to a three year, sixty million dollars deal.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
I was watching the film the other day, The Jaguars,
which couldn't get a touchdown for the Foundation.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Yeah, of course he couldn't.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I was watching film for the of the Jaguars recently,
which is not something you ever really probably should find
yourself doing, but really great. Yudinsky and Liam Cohen have
Jacoby Myers almost in the Justin Jefferson role that he
plays in this offense, so they really trust him, you
can see that. But you're right to. I mean, to
go this route, Liam probably has to be in there.
(03:42):
I'm still a Vabel guy, just with how quickly he
shifted what that culture and that team has. Yeah, I
mean with Gerrod Mayo like they were being laughed off
the field, and then Mike McDonald, like you can't overstate
what he does for that defense. And then just for Seattle,
I mean, that was another team that that was kind
of teetering towards maybe another you know, a bygone era,
(04:06):
and now here they are in the spot for the
number one seed. So really impressed by Seattle and what
they've done too. But Ben Johnson shouldn't be lost either.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Well, Ben Johnson, here's where it's at fourteen to one,
he is versus.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Cohen nine to one. Vrabel the favorite at plus one
eighty five.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
I I'm gonna take Kyle Shanahan, Ormis losing Fred Warner,
dealing with Brandon Aiyuk, losing Nick Bosa, because I think
they're going to win the rest of their games and
I think they're gonna beat Seattle and get the one
seed in the NFC. Okay, So at the end of
the equation, yeah, I'll take I'll take next level Shanny
(04:45):
in the in that situation. But the Sean Payton, I
mean it's Vrabel or Peyton, you know you and Peyton's
in the mix too. Well yeah, I mean it's it's
got to be a fifty to fifty there. It's he's
got a second year quarterback, just like Rabel. But they
went to the playoffs last year. Yeah they got didn't
They get killed that first game against Buffalo?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
I believe they did.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
But I mean if you in the season fifteen and
two as the one seed in the conference, how do
you beat that?
Speaker 1 (05:14):
You know?
Speaker 4 (05:15):
And then for San Francis, So I think the Coach
of the Year comes from a one seed. The question
is who is the one seed going to be? It's
a pretty good, I mean mix of guys, yeah, buying for.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
The spot because like again, what if if the Jaguars
beat the Broncos this weekend and then run the table
and Liam Pane So it's yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Still lean towards Vrabel And that's kind of why I
brought it up. Like, listen to the angles that you
guys are presenting. Again, this award has truly turned into
just who had the crappiest season a year Ago who
has a much less I mean the fact that was
it true. I think it was nine to six and
one or nine seven in one Brian Dable, Yeah, he
was coach of the Year.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
I mean, could it be anything else?
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Beat by O'Connell in the penultimate Oh my goodness and O'Connell,
Joseph Merry Christmas thanking o'donnald didn't even he wasn't even
included in like the five, the five on whom.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
They were voting.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Even with that Dono phil So Coach of the Year
is one thing that truly interested me.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Now we mentioned it is interesting because it's analogous to
what the playoffs could be like in the NFL, where
we just talked out like nine different things, and it's
that there is not a Tom Brady New England, that
there is not a an Andy Reid Mahomes With that
NB three with Chris Jones and Travis Kelcey, you know,
(06:35):
it did definable.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Number one and you know what, the Titans really need
to find a coach like Mike Grable.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Brilliant, that's brilliant offensive Rookie of the Year and it
was brilliant.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
So Traveon Henderson has come a lot. Now, shaky half.
There was a fumble at one point they weren't putting
him on the field, but Remandre Stevenson starts fumbling in himself.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
And then now Travion's going.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
For sixty five with Drake May plowing the road in
front of him, and he's racking up the stat sheet
like nine hundred yards uh in total offense, rushing, in receiving,
and eight or nine touchdowns. But then you have Amika
Abuka in Tampa who actually has kind of taken the
different course where he started out red hot and has
now come back to the pack.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Right, And that was when Baker was MVP.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Now they're losing a bunch of games, including most recently,
I mean, what a heartbreaker against Kirk and the Falcons, Right.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Todd Bowles had a broken heart? He did? Indeed, would
he show it though?
Speaker 3 (07:34):
I mean, my goodness, no, he saw the postgame press
conference he dropped nine f bumps.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Oh he did?
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Oh my, gosh, oh wow holes did oh Todd Bowles?
Oh my, never heard him talk like that. Oh boy,
oh boy, did you.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
See mcveigh's postgame press conference? And like the Puka stuff
and the Anthony apologized and then somebody told him, well,
did you know they were at your facility?
Speaker 1 (07:56):
And then he looks over immediately like what they were there?
Who said yes?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
And then media person says the boss is what we
were told, and he goes the boss okay, I had
no idea that was it was aggressive.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
So is it Less Snead or somebody else that's getting
absolutely torn by McVeigh today.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
After that, I don't know, but I could not believe
the vitriol from the RAMS media core, Like I didn't
know the Rams media had it like that, right.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Lights, Big City. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
I thought, I assume, like you know, we're relaxed, comfortable,
We're just cruising the four h five.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Kevin Modesky from the LA Daily News was just getting
after it.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
I mean they were. It was like, was this a distraction?
Speaker 3 (08:39):
And McVeigh go'es, did Pokah look distracted?
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I really shoot him up and then he caught himself.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
It was a great It was a great scene of
composure midway.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Through that yours He's so right the way he described that,
it's worth watching. McVeigh looked it was a lady right,
I believe write it like the Eileen Wasson or the
Mary kay Cabin of Southern Californian said, did he look distracted?
He chewed him up? Anyway, next question it was the bomb.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Ye I wonder if it was specific to the topic though, yeah,
given to me act that Okay, So he's on this podcast.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
We don't know who the podcaster is.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
It sounds like there was something anti semitic being done.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Wasn't anti semitic? Was it intended? The podcasters Jewish? You know?
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Like the back and forth over the last thirty six
hours with that has been my numbing.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
You know.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
What's interesting is like I always wondered how did Puka
at his level of talent fall to that round?
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Like I always I know you're not mad. I never understood. Well,
that's the bit. It's interesting at the comp.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
I was texting some people in the league last night
who evaluate college prospects and how is Bucky Brooks And
there was no like some people who actually work four
teams in the league at the moment, and one of
them did say to me, is like there were a
lot of questions about people around him.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yep, Like even.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
By U staffers had questions which I I'd never I.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Always kind of thought.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Puko was this like, you know, soft spoken, happy, So
it's it's been pretty and not to sway the Mecca
conversation and you.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Know this is all man, this is six and a radio.
It's NFL fodder.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
But like I never knew Puka was a little bit
of a wild man the way that it feels like
we're kind of finding out. Well.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
I think he's got a couple of brothers, yes, that
play as well.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
And I was king something. I think one of them
is like in legal.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Trouble and they one just stole a car of like
a Lakers player.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Yeah, it's been one of the weirdest weeks for a
player of Puka's stature in a in a I mean.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
It's wild, okay.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
So with the with the the car, with the offensive
Rookie of the Year, it's it's like like when Nordo said,
you know, he wants to go over this with offensive
and Defensive Players of the Year. For offense, I eliminated
quarterback from Offensive Player of the Year because they always
win MVP. Yeah, so do we do the same thing
for Rookie of the Year. You can open it up, right,
(10:57):
I think Rookie of the year you open it up.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
However, it's still gets because the way I was gonna
go with this, Tyler Shuck.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, I think it's Shuck. He's playing great.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
That's That's the thing though, is the way that you
were talking about dart Pa and kind of acknowledging the
head injuries and the EBB and flow. They had this
really cool moment with Skataboo. Then the thing feels like
it's unraveled. Well, Shuck's got this team. They've won three
of their last four or something like that.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
And he's not killing games a little bit.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yeah, well he's the guy with a rookie right, yeah, yeah,
with the viral video where he overthrew some cat at
the combine by about twenty yards on a simple or
a slant or something like that. But now they're they're
winning games in the bye you I can't remember. At
one point we were doing while you were loving on
the Jags, which was right, I was like, if you
can give me the over under at one and a
half for wins for the Saints, I will go under
(11:45):
all day.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
I'll do the limbo on that thing every single time.
And now Shuk has him playing. Yeah, I mean Tyler. Shucks.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
I wouldn't have thought of that, probably off the top
of my head. But I don't know how he couldn't
be one of, like, I mean, one of the favorites
for the award. There's there's no doubt the Saints in
general are just weirdyah Win.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
I didn't realize why. No, but he is on fire.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
I mean six touchdowns, five interceptions, two rushing touchdowns the same.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
What about tet Ted McMillan, the Panthers receiver. He's in
there as well.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
But but the reason I think Travion gets the edge
because it feels like everything's so.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Momentum based, yep.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
And they're on the team with Coach of the Year
potential guy that we were talking about, Like, I think
that plays into it more and how he's changed the frame. Really,
you should be talking about Travion as you speak to
Drake May's second season as well. So but but Shook,
It's just I I never saw myself talking about this guy.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Or even I mean Jackson Darts has twenty touchdowns this year, okay,
in nine starts, twenty touchdowns, thirteen throwing, seven rushing. I
don't know what his odds are, but I'm putting twenty
on Jackson Dart because it's not favored Henderson with Rabel
and he might be coach of the Year and they
might be the one seed. That's how it works, generally speaking.
(13:02):
This guy got this, they did this, they have him.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Sure, I'm gonna see you three days after this game
Sunday at the Feast next week in Roseville. We're gonna
revisit this after you've seen Jackson Dart play in person
against Brian Flores. Okay, okay, just just just keep that
in your mind.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
That's fair. That's fair.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Well, let me let me hit you a last last
thing of this segment, and you you hit on a
PA offensive player of the Year, So I'll just put
it here. What's your flavor because I know you know
Gibbson McCaffrey.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Can be talked about a bit.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Jonathan Taylor, I'm glad you want the defensive Rookie of
the Year like you said you were going to, because
that was a freaking quagmire looking up those names. Well,
I actually think the defensive Player of the Year and
the Rookie of the Year can come from the same team.
Carson Sweeshinger, Yeah, and and then Miles Garrett, of course,
on the cusp of a break in the sack record
offense tough.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Who's your flavor, Pooka or Smith and Jigba. That really
feels like that that's gonna be the end. They're they're
statistically like Smith and you can talk about him because
I think the stat into last night's game is he
is he has been responsible for like forty five percent,
like almost half of all the receiving yards of Darnold's
(14:11):
coming from Jackson.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
So it was forty eight and a half until he
ran into Flores.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
I'm not kidding. It was of their home. Of the
offense ran into Flores. Everything went.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
I looked like it was gonna do that last night
until the second half. But then you have Pooka who
you can just do everything with, and in a lot
of cases when you have those tandems like Davonte. I mean,
Davante's fantastic in the red zone specifically, but he can
make plays and when you take one of those away,
it's like, Oh, what's gonna happen? The Seahawks can just
focus on Puoka. No, No, you cannot, He's gonna go
(14:44):
what two twenty five and a couple last night. Yeah, no,
he's not gonna run away. He doesn't have that track speed,
but he can find himself free. And I mean, best
of luck trying to tackle him.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
So Jonathan Taylor was sixteen rushing touchdowns dead, he's twelve
to one, he's thirty.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Okay, they've kind of fallen off. I mean the Colts
in general, I think have lost their steam.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
But yeah, I mean Pooka.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
It's it's it is interesting, it's your flavor. I think
I would probably go Pooka for the award. But Jackson
Smith and jig But does some stuff where you're like,
how is he always open?
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Like that?
Speaker 3 (15:17):
It's kind of the Jamar Chase effect where sometimes they
throw to him so much and he still catches the
ball and you're like, how is this guy always open?
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Why with Justin.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Jefferson, does it feel like they're playing a triangle in
three against Justin Jefferson or whatever? And but for some reason,
these other guys are just open. It's hard to understand.
But that's what i'd say. And Poopy i'd be Pooka
as well. So Jami or Gibbs not in the chat,
he's in the chat. Sixteen total touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Ian mccaffreys sixteen total t What about McCaffrey though, mc
McCaffrey's got more all purpose yards and fourteen tds.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Wow, and I got them winning the What what are
his odds?
Speaker 2 (15:52):
His odds right now? Just give me about twenty seconds here.
His odds as of this moment are he is forty
to one. Okayah, that's why I put it the way
I did. Though, is Smith and McAffrey are both less
than four a large, they're both less than two to one.
Then Taylor's twelve to one. McCaffrey and Gibbs jumped to
forty to one.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Man, you harp if I think the Niners win the
rest of their games?
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Oh yeah, and they become the one seed, you know,
then forty to one on McCaffrey.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
That that just has to happen.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Well, and what he's had to carry the onus, whether
it's mac jones or it's Purty iuk.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
You mentioned that's been a disaster.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Juwan Jennings does his part, but he's kind of a
meat and potatoes guy, so they basically and then Kittle
has been in and out a bit from a health standpoint.
McCaffrey has carried the Boulder in a big way for
the Niners.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
This is the Friday Football Feast at Buffalo Wild Wings
Apple Valley. That was our Steves Appliance's marathon segment. Steve's
Appliances dot Com thanks for helping Alec and sponsorship during
the Friday Football Feast into the penultimate after the eleven
(17:35):
thirty three welcome back to nine to Noon. This is
the penultimate segment before we say goodbye for the weekend.
Alec and I head to New Jersey for a Vikings
game against the New York Giants.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
It's the final road game.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Then we have a short week for the not only
the football team, but the football feast. Buffalo Wild Wings
Roseville on Wednesday for Christmas Eve feasting, then the Vikings
and the Detroit Lions on Christmas Day around three o'clock.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Uh, it's yeah, can we get Snoop Dogg calling?
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (18:09):
I mean, if we can get Snoop Dogg to the felt,
I want. My Christmas wish would be that you and
Snoop call part of the third quarter on Thursday night afternoon.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Excuse me, I was gonna ask you that's what it
would sound like with Snoop and you would point it out.
But what how did the Snoop thing come come to fruition?
I've been meaning to ask uscribe that I don't know.
I was like, this is a Netflix game, right, Yeah, okay,
so is it tied into that?
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Yeah, it's they do like a they do a performance
at halftime. I haven't talked to death Row Records to
understand the machinations of how that came together.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Probably the prison probably probably probably.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Jeff Anderson sat with the president of death Row Records.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
But what, I would you know what it happened so frequently.
I think it's an out definitely, definitely not a balanced question. No,
I just have no idea. How like, is the halftime
going to be long?
Speaker 3 (19:02):
You're no, I don't know completely. But will you are you? Like,
are you a Snoop Dogg guy? You gotta be a
big Snoop Dogg guy. I like Snoop. I just you've
heard him like common take gaze before. If you put
him in the booth with you, I mean I it
would be the best.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
It would be.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Jared would take video of it. It would be circulating
the internet.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Nick Bad and the promotion staff phenomenal. Yeah, I think
it's the it's the Netflix presentation bumped up the other games.
He's doing the intro. I believe of the whole Netflix winner. Uh,
I believe the sideline report. Dian Or scene is gonna
be on the sideline as one of the reporters, Relly, Yeah,
it's it's this is gonna be exciting. It annoys me
(19:44):
to say this because I hate the fact that we
got to jump to fifty different platforms to watch an
NFL game. But but the production last year with Netflix
was actually really good.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
And I know they they you know, when they were doing.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
The live fights and they had some streaming related or
buffering issues and such, they've cleaned all that up. It
was a pretty great presentation. What was it Chief Steelers
last year? Maybe believe so.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
I used to be kind of a or I was
like last year, man, now I gotta get Peacock. Now
I gotta get And it is still somewhat annoyed. But
even Amazon, Yes, but even Amazon, I mean they've done
a good job.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Like with the NBA.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Kevin Harlan is obviously incredible in the NBA, and then
they're halftime and postgame shows in the NBA are pretty
good on Amazon, So uh.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Oh, they're fantastic. Prime game ye yeah, yeah, win games
are sweet.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
So you got Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, Okay, that's Prime dirt.
You Donnis Haslam Yep, yep, Taylor Rooks, Yeah, how about Haslo.
It's fantastic. They do a really good job on Prime.
Has there been a better pro career than Haslong?
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Basically, I think he was with Miami for nearly two decades,
win some rings, et cetera. Yeah, and then he just
sitting on the bench making like two million dollars a
year for about.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
Half a decade. Is the Bobby Bonia of the NBA.
And he just rolls it every year around April or
may you see the Bobby Bonie. He got this sixty
year thing from the Mets and he gets like a
free two point five million dollars.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Or still twenty thirty five, he gets a million bucks
a year. Are you kidding me? It's thirty five. I
think it's for another decade. I'll be proven wrong maybe,
but I think that's right. That's impressive.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
But I look Snoop Dogg Pa in the booth in
the third quarter and the call Thursday afternoon.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Whoever rolling out and half with Snoop sipping on gin
and juice.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
This is a very popular radio station from what I understand,
so there's got to be somebody listening with some kind
of connection to make this possible.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
I'm just trying to put it out there.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Snoop's first big record is what got PA back and
forth from California to Minnesota in the nineties.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
You listen to that freaking thing though, but I can't
remember the name of the album. Well it was Doggy Stock,
Doggy Stock, Yes, it was Doggy's a Bomb.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
I don't feel comfortable with you, guys say, I mean
it was back when when it was.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Hatch back, He's got a sleeping bag. So you have
you have.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Eight tracks in common and Boreros days. Then you get
to My Day and you got cassettes. Okay, that went
into CDs. Well the CDs, I mean traveling around the country,
that was it. Yeah, that was awesome and the Doggy
Style CD was terrific.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Yeah. I like Snoop.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
But we we teamed up somehow as the station when
the Chiefs were in town, and I can't remember how
it worked, but didn't we try to cholt this Taylor
Swift to.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Come that twenty twenty three the box box or something.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Yes, we tried down, Yeah, Greg sweat down. It was
like tweet and reached out. It was at hashtag in
the mix.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
There was this massive appeal and right end Josh Oliver
fumbles it on the first possession of the game and
no Taylor Swift in the booth that was buying them with.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
The four inch vertical.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Yeah, or I should have picked it off against the
JA He's on another team now, right, Come on with
that with the when we dissect the doc, Alex sends
a document with what I mean pertinent information is one
way to put it.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
It's changed as the season has gone on. Yeah, I've
noticed that. So what what dissect your dop?
Speaker 4 (23:02):
What was interesting within the document that you think would
resonate not only with us but the crowd.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yeah, I mean interesting is I'm not sure the best
most apt word that I would use for it.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
I I'm curious when I watch these other.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
Teams, just what they look like, what time types of
schemes they run, what their defense is like. It's it's
just an interesting like the Giants and where they're at
as an organization is it feels like every time the
Vikings and Giants play, they're at like two transition points
or organizationally on both sides, which is kind of interesting
to me. But as far as watching the Giants on film,
(23:41):
part of me was just like, what is Jackson Dart?
Because there's a lot of narratives and noise around Jackson Dart.
So what do I think of him on film? And
what I think is okay?
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Well, I.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Think he wants to be cool. He was good at
Ole Miss. Yeah, he loves the backpedal in the pocket.
He's going back, back, back, back, back back. You think
he's Chris Berman calling the home run derby always. But look,
let's get him mylak neighbors with Scataboo.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Let's see what we can do.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Yeah, I mean, that would be great and it'll be
interesting to see who they hire.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Uh their GM.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
It feels like it's gonna keep his job, Joe shane
I don't know how that. I mean, Look, Joe Shane's
he's he's had that job.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
For a long time.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
I don't know how much they won, but he's had
the job for a long time.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
And that's doesn't.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Scataboo feel like that's got a short shelf life yet
and I'm not rooting with the way with the way
he plans man. I just like I can't see that
twelve year thing.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Dark has been in.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
The medical tip to be checked for concussion. I believe
at least four or five times. There's just not a
sustainable like play style. So you asked about the doc
and watching the film, I'm like, yeah, that's a great
seven yard scramble like Bravo, great athleticism, but you had
a fifteen yard over route up in the middle of
the field that you miss.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
So how much can I compliment you? Got you?
Speaker 3 (24:59):
And I watched these other teams film with with not
a ton of grace, whereas with the Vikings there's a
lot of graces. I watched and talk about this the
So it's fun to get to do it and just
kind of be a be a fan and evaluate this.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Ali Lewis the Athletic Nord nine to noon and I'm
Paul Allen. Final segment Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple Valley is nat.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
I cut it cut wait until the morrow.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
Hey, everybody enjoyed the Vikings game this weekend, It's at
noon on km A M. You got the program coming
up around the Corner and the Wolves and OKC Tonight
the Wild take on Edmonton at x I make that
Grand Grand Casino Arena Saturday, then on a back to
back catch Nathan McKinnon and Cale mccarr and the Colorado
(25:47):
Avalanche five o'clock on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
That's super cool. And Eric Sinek and Ericson.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I used to think it was Ericsson or I used
to think it was Eric sinec Ali Okay, then I
learned it was Eric's neck.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Sorry to interrupt.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Do you prefer on Sunday Justin's School Michael Jurgens and
Blake Brandle at the right tackle? Or do you prefer
Justin's School Blake Brandle and Walter Rousse at right tackle?
Because that's gonna be what JAJ if we want JJ
mccarthury continue taking steps on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
What that moving company looks like they're gonna have. They're
gonna have Ryan Kelly and Brian Do you think Ryan
Kelly's gonna be fine? Ryan Kelly and Brian O'Neil will
be playing in the game.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
So they returned, Okay, yeah, yeah, they came back yesterday
of practice, so you'll you'll have it'll be justin school,
Donovan Jackson, h Ryan Kelly, will Fries, Brian O'Neill on Sunday,
which will.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Be huge if if we were gonna do in honor
of Paul, and we were gonna, I mean I had
an opportunity to. Actually I couldn't take Jordan Mason because
well I did that earlier in the year.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Couldn't do it.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
If I could, would taking Jordan Mason and or Aaron
Jones on Sunday be an option?
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Yeah, I mean, look, the Giants have the worst run
defense in the NFL by pretty all I mean all metrics, numbers,
eye test, it's really really bad. Yes, they have Dexter Lawrence,
Yes you're gonna have to double team him out of
the way, but their linebackers Bobby Ocarake is capable, and
then the other off ball linebacker, Dorian Mossaw is not
pretty to watch on film. So I mean, yeah, whether
(27:22):
it's Aaron Jones Jordan Mason, this has to be and
it probably will be a heavy personnel run it right
at him. And if you could have taken either probably
Aaron Jones or Jordan Mason, and I hop you feel
really good about it.
Speaker 4 (27:34):
The well they give up during that eight game losing streak,
one fifty three per eleven rushing touchdowns they've allowed during
that eight game losing streak. You know, they they actually
they have some some numbers, like their red zone offense.
They have some numbers that are not bad, you know
that are like wow, they they've lost eight consecutive, but
(27:56):
they did beat Philadelphia. They played Denver and Chargers right
down to the wire. You know it, just forget about
them for a second. This I think for the Vikings,
this is a tricky one. Yeah, so you're probably right.
It's the it's the human nature gets to win thing
where I just bring it up frequently and just so
people won't have their ears out for it, so to speak.
(28:18):
And you know, when you got that darn old game,
you got a Packer game around there, Sunday night football,
and you got Christmas Day football, and the Packers on
the horizon, oh right in the middle, by the way,
a two win Giants team at noon that nobody nationally
cares about.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
This is this is just a tricky one on the road.
You're probably right.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Like the way I've talked about this game is that
if you don't turn the football over and you stop
Tyrone Tracy in the run game, you're gonna put yourself
in very good position. But you're right in that, Like
I was on the way here, just considering the psychology
of where teams are going into games. It does matter,
So it'll it'll be a pretty impressive spot if they
(28:59):
come out out and do what they're supposed to do
against this team.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Do you think when we were doing Vikes bikes, we
had we had our Vikings fan over here asking you
know how cool it would be to ruin seasons and
break hearts around holiday time with our division folks. Do
you think you speak about the psychology of teams? You
think that's in the heads of the Vikings at all?
I mean, I mean, you're so busy preparing for games
and stuff. I'm not saying it's on the whiteboard per se,
(29:23):
But I just wonder if if that's in the heads
and in part of continuing that momentum or whatever it
can be taken as momentum into the offseason kind of
the idea, Yeah, let's let's beat up these guys.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Yeah, I mean, definitely, when you get to next week
and you get to week eighteen of the season and
those are the games, and those are the opponents on
your on your schedule, like getting up for those guys,
no question, but this is the one for sure. It's all.
The good thing about this is you have a quarterback
who is driving like the want to prove, the want
(29:54):
to continue to show an ascent in development, and so
like the man at the control is going to have
a lot to play for and so that usually will
flow to the rest of the team.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
And and Naylor is about to be an unrestricted free agent,
you know, so I mean you're gonna get every It's
it's when you get into this conversation without mentioning names
for what it's worth. My with my experience with the
team or the NFL is it's the veterans who have
made a ton and they're nursing a little something that
(30:28):
that that's that's where you look.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
You know, yeah, no question, but I I mean, just
to land the plane, as you would say, feel really
good about this game. If they don't turn it over
and they stop the run, That's that's where it is.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Hey, God bless all of you, thank you for coming
out to the Friday Football Feest. That's Alec Lewis. He's Nordo.
