Speaker 1 (00:12):
Now all right, I can't find the analyst.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
The analyst, but suk Up manufacturingsuit up dot Com thank
you very much for the season long sponsorship of The
of the Monday. At about ten oh five, we mentioned
the last segment Ben Johnson.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Coach of the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
He gets the Lions to close things and at Soldier Field,
Ben Johnson gets Dan Campbell at home many many weeks
several months after the Detroit Lions Week two put fifty
two points up on the Chicago Bears of Ford Field.
The Chicago Bears will do their darnedest this weekend to

(00:57):
score seventy that game. So those listening in Nordo's Prize
picks Covenant.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
I always love that one.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Make sure make sure you've been informed. Our work is done,
yours has just begun. They're going to try to score seventy.
So every Loveland, every Dj Moore, I mean, you've got
to get deep on this thing. If Manong Guy's healthy,
you got to get Manung Guy into the mix. And
Nordo's prize picks Covenant because it's going to come from

(01:26):
everywhere and all the time. Now Nordo. Nordo mentioned at
the end of Ike's bites. Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Flores can I clomp on you for a second, of course,
going backwards here to the Bears, back to the Bears,
and then Flores flow, Let's get Let's give five though,
to be flow what you would say, you would say,
discretion is the better part of valor.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Five ain't happening, I mean and no, but no, I
think I mean the team I do five, we do
three for me? Or make it in unison with O'Connell's deal,
which ooh, I don't exactly know, but it was four
or five, yeah, something like that, two or through twenty
twenty nine, something like that.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Yeah, okay, so with let's go. Yeah, let's start with
three for me and see where it goes for me.
I need I need b flow in my life with
this team. I understand the discretion is the better part
of valor. I believe that's a term I've heard Pete utter.
I've heard you say it as well, the idea of trying,
and I know exactly why you're saying it, and I

(02:34):
think that there's a high likelihood of it happening.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
You want to beat the Lions.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Week eighteen, to assure yourself that two seed as the
Philly Flyers are hosting the Commanders week eighteen, so you
want to keep the Birds down. Yeah, But in the
same sense, I mean, if Manung guy's got let's let's
let's keep Manung guy fresh. Let's keep some of these
guys because you know, yeah, yes, I know the.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Two seed matters. I see what you're saying. But it's
like the seas that you had.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Everything that's gone right Nixon taught you saw Noah Suwell
go out last night with a non contact injury in
that game against the Niners. Jeez, the defense that has
struggled with health over the course. I think Nashawn Wright
was out. What world are we living in? By the
way Nashawn Wright gets hurt last night and then Tyreek
Stevenson rolls in.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Wow, I mean, what a change.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
And all respect to right the season that he's had,
But I wonder, I wonder if at some point, can
I see what you're saying, Ben Johnson in his in
his in his first year as head coach, and feeling
so good for himself and for this team, can he
pull back the reins? That'll be an interesting test coach
when they stake that lead, and I think they will
stake a nice lead in that game against the kiddies.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
I see what you're saying, but I don't think you
understand what I'm saying. I always love that one with
the prize picks Covenant. Yeah, okay, like they're really going
to jack up the overs on Bagent DuVernay.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
That's a good point.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
J Day Walker Durham smythe first touchdown this year.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
First touchdown in three years? Durham smite, who knew? Nordo knew?
So you got that? I mean, I mean.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Caleb will play until they're up twenty five and then
Beiging comes in and that's where Nordo's prize picks Covenant
slides in the back door with the over one half
on Tyson Beige in touchdown.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
How good would that be?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
It is It is actually fun to handicap some of
these games, because on the other end of it, Alama
Day's the key is who knew? You think Campbell wants
to end the season with that massacre that occurred on
Christmas and then double it up by getting embarrassed at
Soldier Field on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
He has no choice. He might run Gibbs forty times.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
He has he has no choice. Ben has this sucker
just absolutely rolling. You were fifty two points on Ben
Johnson before he had these Bears even.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Close to up to speed. All right, well, well now
he's got him up to speed.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Pagent fades the fire looks right, Fire's left caught Devin
Duver and he he never plays. Oh, he flips it
to Durham smythe who runs.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Into the end zone inside the five touchdown. Bears fade
to black.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
I wish there were and it's the smartest way for
the NFL to do with betting and everything included, but
that some of these games wouldn't be at the same
time because I assume Bears Winter Bears, Oh, Bears Sunday
three twenty five, when's.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Philly got the same time? I'd guess see there you go.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Yeah, see would have been I mean that the best
I know. That's why they do it, and it's the
smartest way to do it. But maybe maybe Philly just
lays it in or just actually.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Mails it in.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Yeah, loses to the Commanders and then suddenly I don't
know who the secondary. I mean, you got Hendon Hooker
out there startingdon Hooker. You got baging of course in
the Bears game. Rather Yeah, no, that'd be that'd be
an interesting one to watch. I lean towards your end, though,
Ben Johnson's gonna want to put a stamp on this
regular season and do it on the forehead of Dan

(06:15):
Campbell and the kiddies.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I I will leave you with this, maybe pay it
off a little at the eleven and uh more tomorrow
when we're at Twin City's Orthopedics Performance Center for the
final t CEO Tuesday nine to noon, twenty twenty five
season given. So, with Brian Flores in his contract, all right,
nobody is shooting down that coach Flores and his contract

(06:42):
is up at the end of the season. So therefore,
since there's been no you know, no inside or no
no pushback, it's fair. It's I think it's fair to
say that his deals up at the end of the year,
and it's fair to lay it out like this for me.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
I don't I don't know what Brian makes and I
don't care what he makes.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
I don't envision Brian Flores becoming a head coach this
next cycle coming at US. I'm not even sure that's
what Brian Flores wants at this stage of his career.
He has kids in Minnesota sports programs. He and his
wife absolutely love it here, and I'd be shocked if

(07:26):
Brian is not here on some new swanky deal. So
That's where I'm at with her right now my chair.
A little more later when we return Border Battle Sinny
nine to Border Battle.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
I sending good morning, Good morning man.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
David sennekan at TC head Cheese via x Packer, Packer
preview the radio show, Packer review the podcast via the
vast and never expanding. iHeart Audio Network. Uh, Saturday Night?
What what hurt? What what hurts you? On Saturday Night?

Speaker 4 (08:50):
How long we got this segment as much as you need, ma'am.
It's the defensive lack of anything. That's the defense not
showing up in a game that still had a lot
going for it, even though the ticnic got punched thanks
to the Vikings. The fact that that run defense seemed
to have no interest in dealing with Derrick Henry and

(09:11):
the Ravens in the home season finale at your place
in a big spot with a backup quarterback needing your help.
Really disappointed because that has not been a problem for
this team. This year, and you know, granted, I know
there's some guys out, but it was a really bad
way for the defensive line, for the linebackers, and that

(09:31):
lack of carrying, that lack of even wanting to be
out there by that side of the ball really bugged me.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
I owe you a FISA fairness and siniact. You know,
when DeVante Wyatt went down might have been in the
Vikings game, but right around there, the one in Lambeau.
I thought you over sold it a little bit how
significant he was with his omission and into the equation.
I think you're absolutely right.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Well, yeah, he was playing at a level that was
going to be garner him some Pro Bowl votes. He
was really becoming a dominant inside presence, and they needed
it so much because obviously they traded Kenny Clark in
the Michael Parsons deals, so they didn't really have a
contingency plan. They didn't prepare to deal Clark, and then
you know, at draft picks or any kind of free

(10:21):
agent capital to augment the defensive line, they were just
got really thin when they traded Clark, and then you
lose Wyatt and you're counting out a bunch of day
three rookies and second year guys who just aren't ready
and the linebacker, I mean, kay Walker may have had
his worst game as a Packers Saturday Night. Cooper wasn't
much better. It just wasn't a good night for the
front seven. And yeah, when Watt went down, it was

(10:43):
a sneaky big loss for this team because they started
getting moving up the power rankings as his play got better.
Nobody really talked about him much but didn't have a
backup plan for him, and that's really shown the last
couple of weeks Clayton Dune.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Though, are we going to get Clayton Dune this way again?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
I would have to think there's a good chance. Willis
obviously banged up late in that game, his shoulders not great.
There's a slight chance he plays. I can't imagine the
scenario where Jordan Love plays in this game. But matl
Floor has not made any proclamations because why would he
on Monday? But yeah, it might be the Clayton Tune
Max Brosemer show for the Border Battle to close out

(11:23):
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
So you're probably going to get the Bears at Soldier
Field Wildcard Round?

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Right? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Really good chance of that. The Bears would need to
lose to the Lions and then Philly wins for Philly
to get the two seats.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
What do you think of that?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Well, we played one hundred and twenty minutes against the
Bears this year. We've got to trail for one minute
against them. So if you're asking me which team would
I like to play most, it's the Bears by a mile.
I have unfinished business for how that game ended a
couple of Saturdays ago. I give them a lot of credit.
It's not going to be an easy game, but I

(12:01):
know the Packers who love another shot at him. I
doubt the Bears would love to face Green Bay again,
but yeah, that's the matchup I absolutely want by far.
It's either it's either at Chicago or at Philly. I
want nothing to do with that Philly defense and that
road trip. Give me another dating soldier field for a
little tayback.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Well with with K nine guy in Valentine, how are
you going to handle Ben.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Valentine was atrocious Saturday night. The guy cannot tackle. He's
he's a decent cover guy, but he gets benched for
Nate Hobbs, and then Nate Hobbs got hurt, and then
come O hadn't got hurt, and Green Bay basically had
one and a half cornerbacks on their roster and the
other the half of the High Bow Mountain who is
playing wide receiver. So there's a real issue a cornerback.

(12:46):
And yeah, there I have to there. It'd have to
deal with with Caleb for sure, but you know, I'll
take our chances. We'll see if Caleb can handle that
big spot. A cornerback is a pressing need for this
organization as a has been for a few years. It's
the number one for sure going into next year.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Sinny in your faith, Milackey.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Ken outside of the Covenant, I can't imagine we were
just discussing it. I can't imagine what Ben Johnson is
going to do to Detroit in the finale after the Lion.
They scored fifty two on him in Week two when
his squad wasn't ready, and clearly it's markedly better now
than it was then. I mean, seriously, he might try

(13:28):
to score seventy on these Lions no matter who plays
Williams or Beijing, know.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
What I mean?

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Yeah, I agree for sure, And it's funny I thinking
about what we were talking about this yesterday to the
Lions three years ago and into Week eighteen with nothing
to play for, and they went into Greek Bay and
an end of the Aaron Rodgers era and kept the
Packers from the playoffs. They always have fight at him,
but that was before they became like these NFC contenders.
They were still a little engine that could, trying to

(13:54):
prove themselves. Now, going into that game with a completely
deflating year after being the one CD year ago and
half those guys booking their trips to Cancun, it it's
got bludgeoning ridden all over it. And Ben Johnson will
have a lot of fun lighting it up against that team,
for sure. But you know, Bears had Luther Burden on

(14:14):
a card at the end of that game. They have
receiving issues, so I'm not sure how fancy he can
get with his offense, knowing that a much important game looms,
likely the following Sunday against the.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Pack Cinny Border Battle Weekly at TC head Geez. If
Green Bay loses its first playoff game, is Matt Lafleur
a cinch to be the head coach next season?

Speaker 4 (14:38):
You know, in any other year, I'd say, yeah, probably
you know, why do you make a move, But I
don't think it's a cinch with that policy now running
the show in Green Bay for the first time, and
you know, we don't know what's going through his head.
We know he's not going to let him dangle on
the last year of his deal saying thing for Brian Guditus.
So they're either going to get extensions or they're going
to be shown the door. And I don't think Goody

(14:59):
is in danger of being shown the door, especially after
making the big trade and knowing what that means for
draft capital the next couple of years, and the way
the team was built and how they were playing before
Micah got hurt. I mean two weeks ago, heading into
the Denver game, Green Bay was nine to three and
one and looking like the dangerous team nobody wants to play.
So I think the team has been built correctly. I

(15:19):
think that you look at the guys that you mentioned
Wyatt and Parsons and Craft and Jenkins, and we can
go on and on that have been lost to injury.
I think Goody's safe. But yeah, if it's an ugly
first round playoff loss, if the Bears drill the Packers,
I would not be stunned. I don't know who he
would look at if he's got any guys in mind
that you think would be the right guy to usher

(15:40):
in the prime of loving persons to get. But yeah,
I do not think it's a since Lafleura's back. If
things go completely fair shaped in round one of the
playoffs for the Pack.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Your squad obviously got the worst of this. But Derrick
Henry is I mean, when he's chugging man and when
they're caring about things, he is one to customer, isn't he.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Well, he's yeah, I mean he's King Henry. You know,
he's he tied a record that Ap and Sayers and
Peyton had, you know, two hundred yards that at lambeau
Fields only happened four times. It was the best rushing
performance ever at lambeau Field by an opponent. It's just
he hasn't looked like that all year. You know, they
they lost so much of their offensive line. They put
in new guys that weren't really cohesive. He's fumbled a

(16:24):
million times. I mean the fact that he was able
to do that with a backup quarterback when Green Bay's
number one goal should have been let anybody but Derek
Henry beat us. Yeah, you could say the Packers, you know,
didn't bring it, but you have to give some credit
to that guy. And then what a stunt he is.
He's he is a problem. He's going to be a
problem for Pittsburgh Sunday night. And that team that started

(16:46):
one to five and looked dead in the water a
month ago. They're going to host a playoff game and
they're going to ride the legs of Derrick Henry when
he's when he's chugging. Man, there are a few guys
more fun to watch.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Time for two more in the silence you here is
Lambo's field?

Speaker 4 (17:00):
For sure?

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Did it all fall off when when Micah got hurt?

Speaker 4 (17:07):
I mean you look at that. Blake Moore and I
were saying this on Sunday halftime in Denver. Green Bay
has two hundred and fifty yards of offense, they're up
eight points, they're looking at a signature road win, and
then Micah goes down, and you know, unfortunately, Rashaun Gary
has been on a milk carton since the season started
and has not been able to make up for that absence.

(17:28):
So there's really a lack of pass rush and just
not enough talent healthy on the defensive side of the ball.
So yeah, second half in Denver, Zach Tom gets hurt,
Christian Watson gets hurt, leaves the game, and then Micah
goes down, And that just felt like the season kind
of crumbled. Not to say they can't pick things up
and make a little run here and have some fun,
but it's hard to envision after watching the last two

(17:49):
and a half games all right.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Lastly here player inclusion Sunday at US Bank Stadium. I
mean it feels like no Josh Jacobs for sure, but
like any like what hits you like, what hits your
heart right now? Wow, I don't think these people should play.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Yeah, I mean offensively, it's hard to bench too many
of the lignemen because they're just not very deep. But
obviously Zach Tom, who's missed the last couple of games
at right tackle, he won't be out there. I don't
think Jacob's, Watson or Love are out there. Maybe Dobbs
as well, who's had nurse some injest. Even Shane Reid,
you know he's been ursing injuries. You know, it might
be the Matthew Golden Show. Maybe he'll actually get more

(18:28):
than three targets in a game, which might be, you know,
ready to pop the champagne if we actually see that,
you know. And then defensively there's there's not a whole
lot you can do. But I would I would rest
the safeties McKinney and Ben Williams, and I would, you know,
certainly maybe Lucas Fennez, who had the best game of
his career Saturday and they got lost in a terrible

(18:50):
defensive effort. He's been banged up. I'd like to keep
him healthy. So, you know, seven eight nine, guys, I
think you have to rest and get ready for Chicago
or Philly. Uh. You know, the schedule comes out this
week eighteen. Border Battle. You hope. So much is on
the line and this is what we got. It's a
little deflating, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Border Battle Sunday noon, US Bank Stadium, Border Battle. Nordo
and Cindy got something up their sleeves this weekend.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
What is it? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (19:17):
I wanted to hit this on the radio with you, Sinny.
Border battle dot org. That's where you can find out
about an event taking place Sunday morning, just a couple
hours before the Border Battle. It's at the old Toll
Bridge in downtown Hudson. It's a tug of war contest
between Vikings fans and Packers fans, and it's a charity

(19:39):
that is generating funds to support the first responders associations
from both sides of the Saint Croix River. The winner
of the tug of War event receives the larger portion
of the sixty forty split hashtag Tug for a Cause. Cinny,
you and I are going to be the respective MC's
of our favorite teams.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
What pum up about this event on Sunday?

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Probably get into my favorite watering hole in Hudson afterwards
and imbibing a bit and watching the game. I can't
wait for that. I can't wait to meet a whole
lot of Packer and Viking fans and have some fun
with you. And you know, there's so many great causes
out there. No one we're raising money for brave first
responders on in the Stillwater area and the Hudson area.

(20:24):
Makes my heart swell.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
A little bit.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
I can't wait to do it. I'm gonna zip over
there as soon as Packer preview is done. It starts
at ten o'clock on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Morning.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
The fact that our game is at new and makes
it perfect as the dessert following this event. But it
should be a whole lot of fun, big time tug
of war between Packer and Viking fans, you and I
hitting it up a little bit and raising money for
an awesome cause. I can't wait now.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Thanks for including me in this, Sinny. I'm excited about it.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
And then they can find out more, donate and support
the cause at border battle dot org.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
It's going to be a blast. Thank you, Jenny.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
Yep, you got it. Guys.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Happy New Year, see your brother, Happy New Year.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Border battle dot org, like Nordo said, Old toll Bridge,
Downtown Hudson, ten am and from a registration standpoint, you
can register via Venmo. Thirty dollars must include your name,
phone number, email, perinent information. Just just cut us in
the Zel covenant right out, didn't they. The I just

(21:21):
said that for you. The event benefits.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
First you, the second host of the fan that I've
confirmed uses Zel first responders.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Let you decide who the other one is.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
The event benefits first responders associations from both sides of
the Saint Roi River. Winning team gets us sixty forty
Nordo mentioned and afterward afterwards watch football game at one
of the fine establishments in the Saint Roix Valley. Well
done with his website border battle dot org. Help out
border battle dot org. That's next weekend. What about the

(21:54):
previous weekend? Let's wrap Scott Hendricks and Hoffman Cooling and Heating.
Thank you for everything during twenty twenty five and here's
to a winning twenty twenty six too. These guys in
Scott the owner of Hoffman Cooling and Heating, Scott Hendricks,
They're awesome and they're very kind, So give them a

(22:17):
try for all your heating and cooling needs because they
work hard, they are honest and not part of a
big chain. They stand alone with their company and they
stand alone with their reliability. Hoffmanheating dot net. Let's weekend wrap.
PJ sky Yuma. PJ is seven to zero Bowl games.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
From about this spot he found Jalen Smith. In the
first half, Lindsay.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
Waits out of the pistol straight drop, has time throws
toward the end zone.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
It is a diving attempt and time touchdown. Jalen Smith
zone off on a baseball field.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Uh dope dope call at the end there by grimmer,
but Lindsay's pass sweep. Uh. So that's a weekend wrap
on the Gopher season where the fan base knows it
has a young, improving quarterback who has talent and a
recruiting class. That's bally hoot nationwide. We look forward to
our chats with the head coach next year. Congratulations on

(23:25):
winning the rate dot com boll. Let's keep weekend wrapping
with the positives. After basically never beating the Winnipeg Jets,
and especially north of the border. Now your Quinnesota wild
are is showing off.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Here's Caprice soft cutting through the neutral zone. A real
capriceoff in on side work at the U Center. Police
score over dripping one over the crossbar.

Speaker 7 (23:56):
What a beautifully set up passing by and the wild
stunt that's and they went at four to.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Three and overtip.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
That wasn't even fair. It was so beautiful. Freeseoff to quinn.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
To Boldie Sea Boldie right down the slot and there's
your dagger. The Jets are having some problems, not New York,
well yeah, New York, but Winnipeg also having some problems
this year. But absolutely gave their best, but their best
was second best. This time, the wild grab two and

(24:27):
beat Connor Hellibuck for the first time ever. I think
Hellabuck need see seven zero to one or something like
that against them. The boys are at the gold the
Vegas Golden Knights tonight. That's nine o'clock FN one hundred
point three KFAM. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves had beaten the
Ratty Brooklyn Nets six and secutive times.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
But then Saturday night happened. What it sounds it? That'll
do it? Brooklyn seven and three in the month of December.

Speaker 7 (24:58):
They were impressive tonight, led by as many as twenty one.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
They win it by sixteen. That's a kick in. That's
a kick in the old cohesion. What happened happened? Benchi said.
They took bad routes at the point of attack, gave
up way too many pain points, and had their butts
kicked in every category the nets. The Brooklyn Nets improved

(25:22):
to ten and nineteen. They won seven of their last ten. Said,
how are at Chicago tonight? That one is on the
Timberwolve's iHeart channel and expected to be a game of
the over whelming variety.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
I wonder with ant because I noticed there was some
postgame locker stuff.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
I mean, that's ugly to lose to the nets the
way you did the other night. Now, Ant is kind
of well known.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
He's always very connected with the media almost there's a
casual openness, stream of consciousness with Ant.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Yeah, but I've noticed kind of a.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Theme after awful losses like this, it's almost as if
he turns up the charm a bit more. I don't don't.
I don't know if you've noticed that per se, but
very much. And people were kind of reacting negatively, like, oh,
I'm just nobody cares about losing terrible games like this.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
I think Anthony cares.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
But there's almost like in these moments he almost puts
a veneer on a little bit. I'm hoping for a
big bounce back from mister Anton company with this next
one here.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Well, the approach personally speaking, I think is brilliant. And
I've shared this before, Like, if I ever get called
down to a corner office here or at one of
my jobs, the whole conversation is neutralized right out of
the gate when you just remind the bosses how grateful
you are to work here and how.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Much you love them. I always love that one.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
I told you lately, how much I love you and
your family, and then all of a sudden everything's neutralized.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
I always love that one, and then we're back to
nine to no.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
You roll in with three compliments on a note card
and changes the entire frame of things.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
That's what Anthony's doing after losing to the Brooklyn Nets,
which is a kick in the old cohesion. Yeah, all
right to the NFL. Yeah, we just talked to Sinny.
But that's not bad. Dropping a late lump of coal
into that packer stocking.

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Derrick Henry is back in the backfield in the power
eye formation. He'll get the carry on the toss, gets
around the corner.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
He's in the twenty.

Speaker 7 (27:24):
Ten five touchdown Derrick Henry, And with that run, he
breaks the NFL record for the most games with two
hundred yards carrying.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
He surpasses O. J.

Speaker 7 (27:38):
Simpson and Adrian Peterson and becomes the first NFL running
back to crest the two hundred yard mark seven times
in his career.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
On play by play for the Baltimore Ravens, that is
the right, Jerry Sandowski, I'm the wrong, Paul Allen Sandusky, Sandusky,
that is three two, that's the right Jerry Sandusky, I'm
the wrong, Paul Allen the right, Jerry Sandusky with an
excellent call.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
I always love that one.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
So the the border battle this week in at New Clayton,
Tone though Green Bay with a Derrick Henry going immortality
on it. Then you get to a team of a
different shade in the division. The Chicago Bears are division
champions and last night played the forty nine Ers right
down to the wire.

Speaker 7 (28:28):
Perty's in the shotgun with Robinson beside him, with the
Bears thirty eight yard line, second down, Pretty drops back,
pretty steps up, pretty close middle Pis Jennicks.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
He's got it intside the twenty the time he's gone.

Speaker 7 (28:43):
The touchdowns back in front.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Next level Shanny, I need Papa back. Next level Shanny
has gone to a plus one thirty favorite to win
Coach of the Year.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
George truly be.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Shipping in black chips on that selection. He's now favored
plus one thirty. I think he gets it now. The
Niners host the Seahawks for the NFC one seed Saturday
Night Football Darnold Week eighteen one seed road.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
What possibly could go a mess? I always love that one.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
The New York Giants for whatever the reason gave the
first overall picking the draft to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Giant lead is now twenty to ten with two thirty
one to go on the third kick comes to the
near side. Banks fields it at the five past of
the twenty east of the thirty.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
There goes Banks along the left. He's a crushman field.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
It's a foot race.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
The take Banks for the twenty ten five touchdown Giants,
And that's.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
How you respond.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
After giving up the fourth and goal touchdown pass, Banks
takes it to the house.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Yeah, he gave, he gave, took seven away.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
This wasn't a football game. Honestly, it was a war
of attrition. WFA in New York must be so loud
right now with the you idiots. You're supposed to quit
and lay down and fix the game and lack professional
pride and forget about achieving whatever bonuses you may have
in front of you. The Giants didn't. Those giants didn't care.

(30:23):
They played hard, they won, And that's how the NFL works.
And just when you think you have it all figured out,
a big underdog starting a rookie quarterback against a Hall
of famer in a game, said hof really, really, needed.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Jumps up and steals the show.

Speaker 6 (30:43):
Fourth and goal SEVN yard line, no timeout, Browns up
thirteen to six. Week seventeen twenty one, ticks to go
brown tet two timeout.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
That does not matter right now. Rogers empty wings the
weather like Kadewell. Rogers recording to everyone.

Speaker 6 (31:02):
Right side, complete the bug denzil Ward of a coverage player.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Tamark pro Bowler Crowns.

Speaker 6 (31:12):
Thirteen to six. They're taking over on Town and they
can't take a knee.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Rogers left feeling opened twice in the end zone for
the game time scores. DeLand got opened twice and then
he threw three consecutive times to Mark wes Valdez scantling
and lost the game because of it.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
I was like, Wow, what point are we making here?

Speaker 2 (31:35):
I mean, you talk about moonwalking into a division championship,
A divisional championship game that's Sunday in Pittsburgh, Sunday night football,
Ravens and Steelers for all the money in the North,
and the loser stays home from the playoffs. Same scenario
with Carolina and Tampa Bay. That's a Saturday afternoon game.
A couple of moonwalkers me meeting Sunday in Florida for

(31:58):
the NFC South title and the loser gets the off season.
Eagles beat the Bills end of one three in a
row and the Rams play Kirko Chains tonight on Monday
Night Football. That is your weekend rep thanks to Hoffman
Cooling and Heating and Hoffmanheating dot Net. Noordo produces and
I'm Paul Allen use Donorda's next on FM one hundred

(32:20):
point three kfamyll with it now, Buddy.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
News denord brought to you by v Casino at Canterbury
Parkcanterbury Park dot com the poker, blackjack and table games
all year round, having SIPs at chips and live racing
is going to be kicking off again in the spring.
I always looking forward to the twenty the Springtime and
Live Racing twenty twenty six edition. Come in your way
Canterbury Park dot com for all event related details. We

(32:55):
will continue on with the NFL conversation mentioning Bears and
Niners and I mean, what a horse race that freaking
thing was last night and the Niners coming out on
top and still controlling their own destiny, not just in
the West, but in the NFC but the Bears coming
out of it feeling good about that offense, but tough
with injuries. Luther Burden, Yeah, has suffered a quad injury.

(33:19):
On the final play that the bounce passed to, I
think it was is a jday Walker yep. As Caleb
was scrambling and buying himself as much time as he could,
Burden was laying on the turf in the end zone
and had to be helped off the field. That's something
to watch, not just into the weekend, but moving forward.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
But Noah Sewele, Noah Sewle, brother of Penay.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
I think there's four Seols playing football, not all in
the NFL at this point, but the Sewell family is
certainly an athletic. One may have torn his achilles last night, Pa,
So you remember seeing him a couple of times this year.
How important that he was in various stints for this
defensive unit who has suffered a ton of injuries in

(34:01):
twenty twenty five. But Noah Sewel, it sounds like may
have torn his achilles, and of course then would be
would be done for the season, massive loss for the Bears,
and they would also then be on Burden watch as
he he showed up in a big way last night.
He's a playmaker, super talented and impressive game for him
until the injury. Well, the what you said an hour

(34:22):
ago about discernment being the better part of valor, you
sold you sold me on it then, I mean, but
now you're getting me over the hump because they're going
to have a home playoff game. They're going to want
to win because they're going to want to get Green
Bay in week one. Yeah, the or the Super wild
Card weekend weekend weekend.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
But now with TJ Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
So they were going through some injury related l's during
the year, TJ Edwards specifically early in the year. Yeah,
Noahsuel filled in for him, played with his hair on fire.
So I'm not a exactly sure if TJ. I know it,
Tremain's playing, but I don't know about TJ. Yeah, that
depth piece right there. That ain't cool for Dennis Allen's defense.

(35:10):
The way the Missouri rookie is coming on with, specifically
with Roma Doonsay missing games. Yep, So I ain't count
on Roma Doonsa playing against the Lions, but absolutely would
count on him against the Green Bay or in the
first round of the playoffs. But you're right, the injury
situations is muddling things a little bit for Ben's Bears.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
I know it's bad for business.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
To say complimentary things about the adversary.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Oh, that's actually good for business.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
It's bad for business to win fewer games than you
would have in a season when Josh Jobbs was your
quarterback for a fair amount, or finishing last at any
time in any division, very good for those bits are
bad for business.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
You know who's come on for them. Austin Booker for
the Bears. I think he had two or three batted
pass last night. He was up in perties business all night.
Now you're looking at a forty two thirty eight game,
so tough getting loud about defensive prowess now in a
score fest like that. But in moments I thought Austin
Booker has been terrific And as you look at these injuries,

(36:17):
guys needing to step up a fifth rounder from last year,
that's a nice little coin in the pocket of Dennis
Allen and those Bears.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
He's up.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
He's their best down lineman pass rusher at this stage.
From what insiders tell me, better than Montese wet so
Booker is really really finishing well.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
Nice hit NFC West, you mentioned it.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
It's it's Niners hosting the Seahawks for not just the West,
but the one seed.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
What we gonna do here? I mean it's I'm leaning
on the Niners.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
I mean, I just believe Niners at home with this
freight train of an offense they have going right now,
all the right strings being pulled at the right times.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
If Smith and Jigbuck, Cup and Barn wiggle their ways
open inside the ten, yeah, and Darnold hits them, I'm
gonna have to turn the game off.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
It's gonna be PTSD.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
I'm gonna have to turn the game off if he
all of a sudden is hitting these guys in a
Week eighteen road game for a one seed.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
You mean just like you did in primetime against the Rams.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Coming over the No, I mean the Lions game last year.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
No, no, no, I know, I'm just saying doing what
he did in primetime against the Rams where he overcame
in the spot.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Now, this is.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
All Yeah, that's regular season for show. This is for
all the toasted does so. This is one seed for
the dough.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
But the but That's where I was gonna go with
the Rams is we've talked, you know, best division or
toughest division. The Rams have an MVP leading them offensively,
Puka Puka, and we're all being satisfied fantasy wise on
a weekly basis. And the defense and what they're able

(37:59):
to do, they're the odd.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Man out oddly enough.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
So you're you're watching tonight's game, and it's it's gonna
be fun from an entertainment standpoint, specifically if you're rooting
for high end offensive performances from a Puka Nakua and
door Stafford certainly maybe a maybe a Bjeon Robinson. Yeah,
maybe Bejeon is your flavor on the Atlanta side.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
But you think you think Couz buzz thinking.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
About one more year next year for a team that
might need a Philip Rivers or an Aaron Rodgers to
come in and throw the ball around.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Well, how inspired it is he was. Do you think
he's gonna be handing off the ball.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
I mean, we'll see how many times Cousins throws, but
Bejon catches.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Jon Jean will have he should have twelve receptions tonight.
Let's just let's put him up now, Rivers bad.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
That's ridiculous. Rivers was fine, Rivers is forty four.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
I know again, it's still the it's still the I'm
just a roob and a child in awe and they
pump up the mics. Maybe they're doing that intentionally as
as we were talking about it. They did it again yesterday.
But just listening to him, put all the pieces on
the board and he gets to the he gets to
the line quickly enough to do that.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
You never see that anymore. You just really don't do
you stick with the opinion. Last time we chatted on
the radio was Wednesday at the feast. You banged your
fist down on the table at Buffalo Wild Wings Roseville
and said, this team is thirteen and four with Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
No, I don't. I don't believe that. I might have
been Warren.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
So if if if Rogers is happy and healthy, we
are we are a playoff team right now. I mean, well,
we'll play more talkback say I don't. I think just pragmatically,
you have to say that this defense, with what it
has done on paper, it's a roster to win. Now,
all those July and August conversations leading into the September

(39:51):
Boom and Soldier Field. The crux of the issue with
the team remains its ability to execute an offense and
that that comes from the the guy at the top
of the totem pole and the offense happens to be
the quarterback. If Rogers is our QB, we are having
we're having a playoff feast.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Okay, Well, when it comes to the where did we
go wrong? How much of it can just start and
stop by saying whatever fiasco was surrounding Christian Darisaw this season? Yeah,
that's like the start and the stop of where do
where did we go wrong? Because offense doesn't stay on
field long enough. Defense stretched at bad times. Defense gets

(40:32):
used to being stretched right three in a row for
b flow overcomes things and then it becomes the Minnesota
Vikings defense right now against teams, ascending teams trying to
win big games. It's one of the very best overall
defenses in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
It can't be argued.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
It's it's one of the most underrated stories at the
end of the twenty twenty five because of the record.
I mean no there, just think about it. The Lions
had eight give aw all season. B flows unit took
it six times. I mean that right there is that
that's a topic material if you're a playoff team, but
they're not, well, I would like that route better then,

(41:12):
because darisaw fiasco. Vough for me to go back in
time and say, if we had if we had actually
you know whatever that looked like inside a room somewhere
and it was a little dimly lit, maybe there was
an ash tray and just a half you know, half
smoked cigarette sitting there, and they're just absolutely lighting the
midnight oil on fire with conversations about whether or not

(41:34):
they were going to bring Rogers in.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
I have no idea how that all worked out, but
they didn't.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
Obviously, it's tougher for me to go back in time
and saying, well, if we would have added Rogers, that's obvious.
I do believe there's probably better results in tow there.
Certainly you can stop and start conversations with the offensive line.
The twenty I mean twelve million combinations of whatever it
was Justin's School early, Justin's Cool Middle actually had some

(42:01):
really good reps Justin School Lake Okay, and and then
everything that went into that will fry everything evolving into.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
Maybe our most consistent guy.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
In twenty twenty five, Brian O'Neil still love him very
nicked up, Ryan Kelly and the concussions, the rookie, the
ups and downs of a rookie campaign, darrisaw Willie won't
he the whole season?

Speaker 4 (42:24):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (42:25):
You could, certainly, I think stop and start the conversation
with whatever. McCarthy was like, whatever this, you know, do
we get the torn Labraham's shoulder situation with Carson? If
the O line's better, right, you can, I mean, maybe
all of that starts with just I mean, what a
disaster the offensive line was.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Sadly, in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
The Thanks the Christmas Day Game was on Netflix, So
close circuit to are you rocking?

Speaker 1 (42:53):
To Snoop to the Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
I mean I was in the back of the booth
for a little bit. Then all of a sudden it
was bump, bump, bump. I'm like, eye, did you some
veggies and some chicken tenders and right up right up
in my spot came into the second half on on
the on the audio leader. Well we just we just
experienced or Snoop just shared with us as nothing but
a g thing for the vikings that are hoping it's

(43:15):
nothing but a w thing and boom. Second half is
in the air. But it was a Netflix game. Uh,
there're there are three people who are gonna understand this
narrow cast, you, me and Abbott. If he's listening, Diana
Russini was the sideline analyst for Netflix right for the
athletic yep, all over that Aaron Rodgers stuff. I started

(43:37):
coming and I started like taking the other side be
a social media which I basically never do. Rusini walks
by me on the Viking sideline two hours before the
game and goes Rogers.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
I always love that one sniff sniff. Okay, that didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
That didn't happen, But for it, maybe Abbott smiled, Nordo chartled.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
It would have been it would have been all the
time Rogers, what happened? Rogers? Huh, yeah, that would have
been great. That would have been special. I've already I've
already lost where I was.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
Ravens and steel Well, you mentioned Ravens and Steelers. That's
gonna be capping all of festivities, and that's that's really
where we're at from an NFL standpoint.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
We have Wolves at Ravens minus three on the road
on the road.

Speaker 1 (44:28):
Yeah, their favor their favorite.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
So some lines are starting to come out now that
smell like a Lamar appearance.

Speaker 3 (44:35):
I don't know. I don't know that it matters. It's
the impotence of that offense without DK. Yes, yeah, that's
the a topic for me after. I mean, they just
went to Cleeve. With all due respect to the call
they just went to. Now, division games.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
Division games are different, man, They always are different, no
matter if the if the divisional dog decides it wants
to play divisional games. Because of the familiarity, they are
markedly more even than points spreads would indicate. Yeah, with
Miles Garrett trying to run down that straight hand sack
record that he didn't get, well, there was built in motivation.

(45:13):
Cleveland was all wound up, played a great game, but
no DK metcap definitely definitely hindered and hampered what the
Steelers offense was trying to do. If Pittsburgh runs Warren
and runs and throws to gain well and hits prior
moth every eight plays, it should not lose this game.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
I think TJ is t J watsdown right. TJ Watt
had a collapsed along. I think, oh, it's ir there
was a little ambiguity around it. Well, I don't think
he's ir because they're keeping it. It's like return, you know,
we're still thinking about the playoffs, so we want to
keep that. Whatever the return timetable is, he would not.
I don't believe that he would be likely to play.

Speaker 1 (45:55):
Though.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
This is not a shocker that the NFL, with his
forward thinking, is just really really good with final week scenarios.
I don't remember when it happened, but when they shifted
that final week to nothing but division games a plus
maneuver with that, Yeah, they didn't know Vikings Packers, you know,

(46:16):
would have the Vikings missing the postseason by a half game,
Green Bay going and battered. But nevertheless, you got Dan
Campbell and his Lions at Soldier Field to take on
Ben in the in the final game of the season
for both teams. It also ends up with Dave Canalis,
head coach of the Carolina Panthers, going to Tampa Bay

(46:39):
to win the division and the loser stays home. Canalis
former offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And now
you've got Darnold take two on the road. Week eighteen,
one seed at stake Divisional game.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
It's unbelievable. And three five slate you got Chiefs and Raiders. Hey, hey,
you got Chiefs and Raiders and the Chiefs are vying
for play it.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
I'm still trying to Raiders figure out. I didn't watch
any on a Christmas Day. I think that was the
game after US Chiefs and somebody Chiefs and Broncos. Yeah,
the quarterback for Kansas City. I mean I looked at
his name one time.

Speaker 1 (47:16):
A lot of coon or that who it is? I think?

Speaker 2 (47:18):
So it was a lot of coon? Well, why no,
minshew dead, my home's dead.

Speaker 1 (47:22):
I think that's why.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
A lot of coon though, that's who a lot of
coon is? Okay, maybe like Clayton toone and we might
see on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
That's uh. I took way too much time, but that's news.

Speaker 3 (47:31):
Denard brought to you by Canterbury Parkcanterbury Park dot com.
