(00:00):
Five fifty two. Our time herein Houston's Warning News, we welcome Congressman
Troy Nailes to our program here thismorning. Congressman, what were you thinking
when you first heard the news thatthere was an attempted assassination attempt on President
Trump? Good morning, Jimmy.I was actually at home with my family
and then started receiving the reports, and I was absolutely shocked. I mean,

(00:24):
we know that Donald Trump has beenattending rallies for several years, and
we get we see tens of thousandsof people show up to his rallies.
I've been to some of those rallies. I've been tomar Lago in Bedminster,
and I've seen quite incredible security footprintswhen you go and visit the president or

(00:46):
go to these rallies, attend theserallies. But it just seems like there
were some some real issues surrounding thesecurity apparatus that they had set up there
in Butler, Pennsylvania the other day. Very concerent learning in many ways as
a congressman, what will you do? What will the Congress do? Or
is everybody so busy trying to getthemselves re elected that they're not going to

(01:08):
really hold people accountable for this obviouslapse in security For Donald Trump. No,
I think there will be accountability here. I mean, how could you
not. I mean, Donald Trumpis our leader of our party, denominee,
and I believe favored to be theforty seventh president. And when you

(01:29):
have a security incident like this wherean individual what one hundred and fifty hundred
and sixty yards away with a longbarrel rifle is able to take a shot
at the former president, I meanthat that's a security failure and intelligence failure,
and I believe it will be addressed. Obviously, we're not up there
this week. We have the conventionthis week, but when we get back

(01:53):
the following Monday, I can assureyou that Oversight and Homeland Security will be
holding hearings on this to try toget to the bottom of it. At
the actual convention itself, supposedly,President Trump is reworking his speech. It's
more about unity than it is goingto be about a party platform. I
guess he's going to leave that upto some of the other speakers while he
focuses on the unity issue. Idon't know how long they show of unity

(02:17):
lasts, especially amongst the Democrats,I would expect it's probably going to last
at least through the week, butI don't look to it to last a
whole lot longer than that. Orare you more hopeful than I am?
No, not really. What we'veknown with the Democrats, going back to
the Summer riots of twenty twenty andeverything, there just doesn't seem to be

(02:39):
a whole lot of unity and alot of peaceful protests. I think that
when you think about Democrats, withmany of them talking about a violence in
not condoning the violence, they condonethe violence when you see something like this
take place, what we saw theother day with President Trump being they tried

(02:59):
to assassinate him. So yes,I think that may last for a few
hours, but I tell you,for the next ninety days, it's going
to get in my humble opinion,it's going to get ugly. With this
election. It just is. Thereare Democrats that will do anything and everything
to make sure Donald Trump is notbrought back here reelected as the forty seven
president. So I am concerned aboutsecurity for this country over the next ninety

(03:22):
days, for President Trump's safety, and we just have to make sure that
we are on the lookout. Weare aware because there are a lot there
are a lot of bad mbrees outthere. There were some calls at Congress
stay in emergency session instead of takinga recess during the election time. Would
you be in favor of that.Yeah, I'm in favor of doing everything

(03:43):
we can to try to save ourcountry, and we need to do everything
we can. We beaning the RepublicanConference in Washington, d C. To
make sure that Donald Trump gets reelected. That means to be out there
in our districts, getting people tovote, getting them registered, and getting
them to vote, exercising their godgiven right. I'm not talking about reaging

(04:03):
elections. They're cheating in elections.I'm talking about just get every individual,
every Republican we know out there togo out and vote and Donald Trump will
win this election. You also needto get unity there in Congress because you
try to defund some of these outrageousimmigration issues, and you had Rhino Republicans

(04:24):
who sided with the Democrats on thatone. Yeah. Yeah, we see
it every week up there when we'rethere, and that's where I've said for
a long time the number one priorityfor our Republican Conference in this country is
to get Donald Trump re elected,I believe we will keep the House.
I believe now we will keep theSenate as well, or we'll get the

(04:45):
Senate back. With what took placein Pennsylvania. And now, the Democrats
can't be talking too much right nowabout trying to find a replacement the Joe,
because everybody's talking about the attempted assassinationof Donald Trump. So they're in
a very difficult situation right now. That may mean the Democrats, all right,
Congressman, thanks as always appreciated.Texas Congressman Troy Nails. It's five

(05:05):
fifty seven.
