(01:34):
Radio seven forty k t r AGE, Huge News morning, Good morning,
Sheriff Fry, Good morning, Bob. Friends, Welcome. It is now
five o two on news radio sevenforty ktr H and our top story this
hour is it Joe ever change thatare hurting the American people and destabilizing our

(01:56):
country in the world. John Southco to Governor Christy Nome There, Joe
Biden officially has dropped out of theelection by letter after being pressured by his
own party no less than three dozenDemocrat members of Congress yesterday calling for Joe
to go. Sadly, this waspredictable, and not only was it predictable,
but I got to say I predictedthis ten months ago on my podcast

(02:21):
Verdict with Ted Cruz, I said, the Democrats are going to pull Joe
Biden off the ballot because he can'twin. Texas Senator Ted Cruz with kat
rhs Mark Levin took Biden releasing twostatements, however, before he came out
on the second one endorsing Vice PresidentKamala Harris, but former President Barack Obama
has not endorsed her yet. TheDemocrat infighting apparently though something the Trump campaign

(02:46):
says they can deal with. Asfar as we're concerned, from the Trump
Campaign and the RNC, our visionand our mission is very clear. We
are running Donald J. Trump asour president. RNC CoA chair Lara Trump.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly oneof those who wants an open convention,

(03:07):
meaning she's not endorsing Kamala Harris either. The nomination would be determined at
the convention Democrat convention next month inChicago. Biden is the first incumbent president
not to run for re election sinceLyndon B. Johnson in nineteen sixty eight.
It means that Biden is now alame duck president until January twentieth of

(03:27):
next year, the inauguration not goodenough for how Speaker Mike Johnson, who
has now called for Biden to stepdown for the presidency immediately entirely. Of
course, all of this has beendone by letter from Joe Biden, no
video or photographs, even phone callsfrom a living, breathing incumbent to reassure
the American people and the world thatthis is actually his decision. And as

(03:51):
if all this weren't crazy enough, could the Democrats actually try to pull off
yet another October surprise too? Democratalways have some salacious story in their back
pocket. The problem that they haveis that they have to find so many.
America's very tribal and people tend torevert to what they've done before.

(04:12):
Melissa McKenzie of The American Spectator saysballot harvesting issues might haunt Trump, but
the results are pretty much baked inalready. Most people have made up their
minds on how they're gonna vote.If there is an undecided voter out there,
I'd like to meet this person.I don't believe that. She says
there will almost certainly be an Octobersurprise this year on Ray Ferrard News Radio
seven forty KTRH. Maybe we justhad it a lively. Donald Trump returning

(04:36):
to the campaign trail this weekend. He had a rallige in Grand Rapids,
Michigan. They keep saying he's athreat to democracy. I'm saying, what
the hell did I do for democracy? Last week? I took a bullet
for democracy? What did I doagainst democracy? As you can hear it?

(04:57):
Crazy once again. Houses of supporterson hand for Donald Trump, his
first rally since he attempted assassination inPennsylvania. He confirms he was never told
the Secret Service was actually looking forThomas Matthew Crooks at least an hour and
then immediately in the ten minutes beforeDonald Trump took the stage and became a

(05:19):
target. No one told you notto take the stage. No nobody mentioned
that. Nobody said there was aproblem. And I would have waited for
fifteen They could have said, let'swait for fifteen minutes, twenty minutes,
five minutes. Something. Nobody said. I think that was a mistake.
Trump with Fox's Jesse Waters. Bythe way, recent polling shows that one

(05:39):
in three Democrats nonetheless believes that Trumpfaked this assassination attempt. Fox News reporting
just yesterday, an unified man ina suit directed the video agents were filming
of the dead shooter be texted toa phone number that was linked to the
ATF. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobaccoin Firearms got many and increasing questions for

(06:01):
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheetah. She'scalled to testify before Congress later this morning
about the many failures and anomalies ofSecret Service protection of Donald Trump. Nearly
two dozen lawmakers have already called forher to resign. Republicans accept a single
Democrat, Brendan Boyle of Pennsylvania. That hearing will start at nine am Houston

(06:21):
time. Texas Governor Greg Abbott yetto call a special election, by the
way to fill the seat of theTexas Democrat Congressman Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston.
She died Friday battling pancreatic cancer. She was seventy four years old.
It's now five oh six. Stockmarket future is largely unchanged after Joe Biden's

(06:42):
announcement that he will exit the twentytwenty four election The Dow lost nearly four
hundred points in trading on Friday.Economy struggling under Biden's economic policies, Robert
Hennicky with the Texas Public Policy Foundationsays, well, look, biden Omics
has been nothing short of a majorfailure. If you look at the total
package of the regulations and mandates fromthis administration, that really the goal the

(07:06):
Bide administration progressives is that they wantwarking middle class Americans to buy last,
demand less, and to expect less. Yeah, Hennicky says, average Americans
are just trying to survive and theyare being we are being crushed by inflation.
Center Point still has hundreds of customerswithout power this morning. Some five

(07:27):
hundred were told after the hurricane.Mayor John Whitmyer was promising to get answers.
It's been two weeks since the hurricanehit. Storm has hurt our nine
to one one. It's just reallya mess. Our nine to one one
emergency call in thing. Harris Countyhas been played with nine one one outages
in recent months. It's five sevenAstras lose to the Mariners six Ford last

(07:51):
night. They're back in the firstplace tie now in the American League.
West. It'll be taking on theA's tonight pregame seven thirty on Sports Talk
seven ninety and you'll hear it hereas well on KTRH and recapping our top
story. President Joe Biden withdrawing fromthe twenty twenty four presidential race, endorsing
Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee, with a Democrat party not announcing what

(08:15):
they will officially do. Now,I'm Sherber Fryer on news radio seven forty
KTRH. I live in the Heights. I live in Spring Kingwood. Next
on the ten Your Faster Commute onseven forty KTRAH. Alrighty eight minutes after
five o'clock. Now, wow, what a morning. Easily the biggest news
story of the year, and quitefrankly, we are watching history unfold.

(08:37):
Literally, the lasts eight nine dayshave been historic. These are things that
will go down in history books.A former president seeking reelection in a non
consecutive term is shot in an assassinationattempt just last Saturday. He survives that
attempt. Seven days later, thecurrent incumbent president announces he will no longer

(09:01):
be seeking the nomination as he foldsin the face of relentless pressure from his
own party. He folds and cavesin after not only do sitting members of
Congress, including the House and theSenate, but party leaders and most important
party donors massive massive amounts of moneyat risk if Joe Biden does not step

(09:24):
down. Defiant, I've got aheadline excuse me from one week ago today
that didn't age very well. Bidenexplodes during disastrous NBC News interview, declares
I have command of all my faculties. One week later, that same president
says I'm no longer seeking the seekingre election, apparently because he doesn't have

(09:48):
control of those faculties, or atleast he is no longer able to fight
those who know the fact that hedoes not. So this is in large
part a palace coup. The manand the party excuse me that continues to
call Donald J. Trump a threatto democracy has literally destroyed democracy within their
own party. Over fourteen million voteshave been cast in Democrat primaries, although

(10:13):
they weren't real primaries because no onewas allowed to challenge him, no one
was allowed to debate him, noone was allowed to be recognized as a
challenge to the king. There werestill primary votes held fourteen million of them
said Joe Biden is who we wantas our Democratic nominee. Those people have
now been kicked to the curb, those votes rendered null and void. There

(10:35):
is now going to be an openprocess for choosing a nominee to replace the
income and president. The endorsements ofKamala Harris by Joe Biden, Bill Clinton,
and excuse me at Hillary Clinton, excuse me, some of the strongest
leaders in the Democrat Party certainly givethe vice president a leg up in this

(10:56):
process. But obviously this is byno means over. Barack Obama, perhaps
the most powerful man in the DemocratParty, did not, notably, in
a very very lengthy statement yesterday, did not endorse Kamala Harris, leaving a
lot of people speculating whether or nothis wife and thus he himself, might
be interested in the oval office.I think that we really need to point

(11:18):
out consistently though we did not heara statement as we did from Lyndon Johnson
when he decided not to run,We did not see, we have no
photographs of Joe Biden. We don'teven know where Joe Biden is at the
moment. We had a letter,a very lengthy letter. Two of them,
Yeah, two of them separate,by the way, and you pointed
that out in your newscast too. These were not back to or excuse me,

(11:41):
these were not contained. These twostories of his own withdrawal and the
endorsement of Kamala Harris were not containedin the same letter. They were two
separate messages that were sent out.And yes, the story, the official
story is he has COVID and thushe is still kind of in isolation if
you will, in Delaware. Butelection insiders and political analysts say he is

(12:01):
too livid to have given a videomessage and said anything. He is so
furious that he is being forced toabdicate his throne, if you will too.
Where is the White House photographer? You can take a still photo.
That is a great question. Whereis that again? Well, they don't
want the White housepital for of course, to catch COVID m away with a
telephoto lens, you can do it. We have so much news to get

(12:24):
into this morning. We're going todo our very best to bring you the
very latest breaking news and analysince. We have a full program for you.
So thank you so much for beingwith Okay sky my go ahead, Bob
let's test your knowledge of Houston's morningnews very quickly. You have stopped on
the freeway. Something's wrong with yourvehicle. What do you have in your
your fan built? You haven't hada possum in my fan. It's north

(12:46):
loops six' ten. He's foundan airline. They've moved into the side.
But that's a sticky spot. You'retrying to merge to go downtown.
Skymike and the generators Supercenter, dotCom traffic center. All right, and
Terry Smith at the Weather Channel hasour forecast. Hi, Terry, Hey,
good more. Well, it's goingto be a soggy stretch around here.
More rain, heavy rain at times. Eighty percent chance of showers and

(13:07):
thunderstorms developing again today. It'll belate in the after morning and then into
the afternoon when those thunderstorms do showup. Upper eighties to low nineties today.
Sixty percent chance of the thunderstorms overnight. More showers and storms, heavy
rain tomorrow and Wednesday, Thursday aswell, even Friday. We still are
dealing with a sixty percent chance ofmore rain. All right, seventy eight

(13:31):
degrees in partly cloudy. Now,it's your official severe weather station is Radio
seven forty kt erh Buckle up.It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you
by New South Windows Solutions. Nowback to Jimmy and Sherah with the info
you need to take on the day, all our Jimmy's got the week,
Bob France sitting in for him.Glad to be here and try to break
this down a little bit for youthe best we can too. As I

(13:52):
said at the top of the showafter our newscast from Shara, we are
watching history being made right now. These are things that we'll be written about.
The attempt on Donald Trump's life, the survival, the convention literally being
just forty eight hours after that assassinationattempt, massive, massive rally and show
of unity for the former president atthe convention, and then after that incredible

(14:13):
week, a story broke by MarkHalpern on Friday said Joe Biden will be
out of the reelection campaign and raceby Sunday. Is early as Saturday,
as late as Sunday. Not awhole lot of people put faith in that.
Halpern, however, is very verywell sourced, of course, having
been the ABC News political director foryears and years before of course becoming part

(14:35):
of Newsmax. But Mark Halprin sourcestold him it was happening yesterday early afternoon.
It did indeed happen. Joe Bidenis out of the race, Fueling
and Share. This is something we'regoing to have to discuss after traffic here,
Fueling calls by many Republicans for JoeBiden to leave the presidency. If
you're not competent and qualified to runfor reelection, cannot run the country for

(15:01):
the next six months either. Manywant him out. That is a strategy
that is in question. We willdiscuss right after we check that traffic in
weather. Now, here's Scott Mike. All right, I've got the East
sam between Generation Parkway and Westlake HoustonParkway both ways. If you're coming down
from a task Asita, let's dothe North belt. Do the North Belt
over to the East text. AndI realize the East text is going to

(15:22):
be a little heavier this morning,so let's get an early start. I
got to turn your snooze off thetask Asita and Kingwood again. That's Generation
Parkway to west Lake Houston Parkway.Complete closure. They're putting you on the
feeder roads for now, and we'llkeep you Updated's s Gottmike on the Generator
Supercenter dot com traffic center. Allright, thanks very much, Mike.
Terry sporecast calling for a lot ofrain and storms this morning. The storms

(15:46):
will hit high of about eighty eight, mostly clouding in the afternoon, Scattered
storms developing after midnight as well, low as seventy six rain and a high
of eighty five Tuesday. More stormsWednesday, Thursday highs in the low eighties
and right now seventy eight cloudy atyour official severe weather Station's radio seven forty
KTRH. Schrif's got those headlines.Good morning everyone, is five twenty one

(16:07):
on news radio seven forty KTRH.Joe Biden has quit the presidential race for
twenty twenty four after three days offlight of issues thanks to the CrowdStrike Microsoft
ottage outage at global airports including Houston. Now this morning only a handful of
delays and cancelations out of our airportsthis morning. The US Postal Service has

(16:29):
released a new stamp to honor thelate TV game show host Alex Trebek.
Latest news anytime KTRH dot com.Our next update will be at the bottom
of the hours. The hottest happeningright now the hottest news happens right here.
It Stay alert and be prepared onnews radio seven forty ktrh Okay.
A lot of people share a friarin the Republican Party, including some of

(16:52):
the most powerful members of the Senate, Ted Cruz, vice president presidential candidate
jd. Vance. They're all saying, if Joe Biden isn't competent to run
for reelection, which they are nowessentially admitting that he's not, which is
why he has exited this race forreelection, then he cannot run the country
for the next six months. Theywant him out. Is that a mistake?

(17:15):
Or is that because a lot ofpeople are saying, look, if
you do that, you give KamalaHarris six months of incumbency to run on.
She will then be able to sayI'm the incumbent, well not six
months but four months before the election, but I'm the incumbent president of the
United States. Is that a smartmove? Do you think? I'm not
sure I'm raising the same question.I mean, this whole thing just sounds

(17:36):
like a constitutional crisis to me,because Joe Biden as early as yesterday morning
was saying, no, he's thecandidate and then next thing, you know,
he's not the candidate. Haven't heardit from his lips. I feel
like every time I read that he'squit the race, I want to say
allegedly, because we haven't heard itfrom him, We're hearing it from everybody
else in the DNC who's running thecountry, who has been running the country.

(17:56):
Where is Joe Biden? And whydoesn't he present himself? A number
of people yesterday myself included on socialmedia asking this question, has anybody awakened
Joe Biden yet from his nap tolet him know that he's no longer running
for president? It was this doneand it's only partially tongue in chic.
Was this done with his approval?Did they write this letter in his name

(18:17):
and not tell him? Or didthey tell him and force him to send
it under pressure? Because, asyou say, as early as ten thirty
or so yesterday morning Eastern time,Cedric Richmond, campaign co chair, was
on live television saying that it isfull steam ahead. President Biden looks forward
to officially becoming the nominee and heis running, you know, for his
office. And less than three hourslater we get that letter. As you

(18:40):
point out, correctly, which wasdelivered via Twitter, not via you know,
direct press release, not not aspokesperson for the White House saying President
Biden would say this himself, buthe's under the weather with his COVID.
Just nothing except the tweet and thenthe second tweet of a letter which you
know, again was unofficial letter,I guess, but saying that the greatest

(19:02):
decision I ever made was to chooseKamala Harris and she has my full endorsement.
Yeah, and all the mainstream media, I mean, I'm the headlines
in the paper, and all ofus on the radio and all of us
on DV are saying that Joe Bidenhas dropped out. Okay, fine,
he's dropped out. Kamala Harris isgoing to be addressing the public, apparently,
Fox is reporting that this morning. She's going to be addressing the public

(19:23):
sometime this week. She will speakpublicly before Joe Biden does. Is he
that ill who's running the country.Well, that's a very good question about
running the country, and I'm notsurprised that they're not going to let him
speak. Look after the disastrous debate, they tried on multiple occasions to try
to you know, revitalize his campaignto try to repair some of the damage.

(19:45):
The first one was with George Stephanopolis. It didn't help. He sounded
justice out of it and just asconfused as he did on the debate.
Then it was Lester Holt. Thisone was worse. As you listen to
him, not only in his slow, you know, cadence of speaking and
his raspiness and everything else that soundedidentical to the debate. He could not

(20:06):
formulate thoughts and he could not completesentences. So every time they tried to,
you know, reinvigorate his campaign andsay, ah, the debate was
just a bad night, it's aone off, it failed. And this
is why, of course, speculationgrew and the number of Democrats, prominent
Democrats, including many in purple districtsin Congress, started to call for him

(20:26):
to step aside, and the donors, the donors started pulling their money.
I mean, that got the attentionvery fast. You're the decision makers,
one hundred percent right, one hundredpercent right. But are these donors going
to be all in for Kamala Harris, whom we need to remind everybody and
we will. Just four years agoran for president against Joe Biden in the
primaries, and she finished so farbehind Biden and Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

(20:52):
She was at two percent. Democratshated her. They saw her against
other Democrats and said, what achance, what are you kidding? She
was out on December fourth, twentynineteen. She didn't even make it to
Iowa after the first of the year. In the election year, she was
so bad and so disliked. Shehad two percent. And now they're all
going to rally around her and saywe love her, I'm with her.

(21:17):
They're bringing back the Hillary line.I'm with her, I'm with her.
No, you hated her just fouryears ago. What has changed in four
years? Nothing excepts except a disastrousrun as vice president. So this is
of course what the Republican Party andwhat the Trump campaign is going to have
to tell everybody. All Right,we're just getting rolling. We have a
massive amount of news to get to. But right now it's five twenty six.

(21:37):
Let's get to a Bloomberg Business Reportand say good morning to Courtney Donahoe.
Hey there, Bob's so nice tohear you this morning. While we
kick off a new training with stockspointing to a higher open death futures up
fifty points. Markets already had plentyto deal with US the summer kicks into
high gear now Investors are assessing PresidentBiden's moved to end his re election campaign.

(21:57):
Earnings are also a major focus Thisweek. We get reports from Tesla,
Google, Pair Into Alphabet, andCoco Cola, among others. Stocks
fell on Friday to wrap up awild week on Wall Street. Last week,
the SMP had its worst week sinceApril. The dellfelt three hundred and
seventy seven points. The faulty softwareupdate from cybersecurity from CrowdStrike affected eight and

(22:18):
a half million devices globally that relyon Microsoft Windows. The crowd Strike update
crash systems around the world, paralyzingbusinesses and governments for hours, and Delaware
is the best state in the nationto retire. According to Bankrade, Delaware
ranks near the top for diversity andnatural disasters are also rare. West Virginia
came in second, Texas running towardthe bottom forty second, dragged down by

(22:41):
its ranking for wellness. I'm recordingdown a Hope Bloomberg business on news radio
seven forty ktrh are own Houston's news. Why there are Traffic plus Breaking News
twenty four to seven. This isNews Radio seven forty KTRH Trive Everywhere.
More of what's happening now from theJohn Morris Services Studios. Joe Biden endorses

(23:07):
Kamala Harris for president while ending hisre election campaign, and Secret Service leadership
is under scrutiny as President Trump hitsthe post convention campaign trail. Good Morning,
Bob France in for Jimmy Barrett,Sheriff Fire has the details on those
stories and more coming right up.But first we'll do traffic and weather together.
Here's Skymike. We've got the EastBelt close. It's going to be
like this for a while. Two. This is between Generation Parkway and Westlake

(23:30):
Houston Parkway totals shut down. Fornow. It's not a big thing because
I'll put you on the feeder laterthat becomes the thing. I'm Skymike in
the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center. Scattered thunderstorms this morning, mostly cloudy
this afternoon high of eighty eight.More scattered storms developing overnight with a low
of seventy six. The rest ofthe forecast is up to Terry Smith to
tell you in about nine minutes rightnow, seventy eight degrees. It's your

(23:53):
official Sevir weather station. He's Radioseven forty KTRH. Now the morning news
here, Shery. Good Morning Oneis five thirty one on News Radio seven
forty KTRH. In our top storythis hour, our campaign and President Trump
are prepared to defeat Kamala Harris orwhomever the Democrat Party elite passed their torch
to at that disastrous convention next month. Caroline Levitt there on Fox. She's

(24:17):
the Trump campaign spokesperson. Joe Bidenthe first incumbent president since Lynda B.
Johnson in nineteen sixty eight to dropout of a presidential race. The decision
yesterday, some think the Democrats shouldgo a step further. There's a constitutional
process, the twenty fifth Amendment. If Joe Biden can't run for president,
he can't serve as president. Andif they want to take him down because
he's mentally incapable of serving, invokethe twenty fifth Amendment. That's VP nominee

(24:42):
Ohio Senator jd Vance, Donald Trump'srunning mate. On Fox. Biden released
a second statement yesterday too, endorsingVice President Kamala Harris, but Barack Obama,
former Speaker Nancy Pelosi Senate Majority LeaderChuck Schumer have not, while yet
other Democrats now considering their own runs, like West Virginia Senator Democrat now independent

(25:06):
Joe Mansion. Hours before President Bidenmade it known he would not run,
Senator Mansion said on CBS Face theNation, there shouldn't be an anointing of
a nominee before the convention. Ibelieve that there could be an open primary
process and let the cream rise. That would mean bypassing Vice President Kamala Harris,
whom President Biden endorsed. Grnald Scottreporting there, Donald Trump, reacting

(25:30):
on true socially posted that quote crookedJoe Biden was not fit to run for
president and is certainly not fit toserve and never was end quote Trump on
the campaign trail this past weekend forthe first time since the assassination attempt in
Pennsylvania. When I'm back in theWhite House, the way they will sell

(25:52):
their product in America is to buildit in America. They have to build
it in America, and they haveto use you people to beild it.
Thank you very much. Trump inGrand Rapids, Michigan, playing to a
crowd of thousands, and then yes, he revealed he was never told about
the threat before he took the stagethat day in Pennsylvania. Secret Service agents

(26:15):
knew that there was a problem. They were searching for Thomas Matthews Crooks at
least an hour and even in theten minutes leading in so allowing nonetheless Trump
to take the stage. Lots ofquestions for the Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheedle.
She's going to be facing those atnine am hour time this morning,
testifying for the House Oversight Committee aboutwhat took place and what didn't. Secret

(26:41):
Service didn't attend the morning briefing thatmorning of the rally. Lots of things
are being revealed. American's more onedge, understandably than ever after that assassination
attempt. A new Reuter's pull fromlast week shows eighty percent of Americans believe
the country is spiraling out of control, including similar numbers of Republicans and Democrats.

(27:03):
Political analyst Luke Pasias says, peoplesee both domestic and international unrest.
They know that we are in severechaos, and the promise of Joe Biden
when he ran was elect me andI will restore our nation to sanity,
and we've only seen domestic and internationaldisputes on the rise since then. The
poll also finds eighty four percent fearthere will be political violence around the election.

(27:25):
Corey Jolson News Radio seven forty KTRHour News Time Now five thirty four.
Of course, we had more violentcrime here over the weekend. A
fourteen year old boy shot to deaththat his body found in a car in
our city. A man found deadwith gunshot wounds after a major crash on
Harris County Freeway as well. Violentcrime wave has been going on for years

(27:47):
and here is getting even worse afterHurricane Beryl. It's something that Andy Kahn
has been keeping track of at crimeStoppers and right now I am over people
that have now been charged with breakinginto a business during a disaster, which
from my perspective is a better asthe blow as you get. And because

(28:08):
of that, con says it's timeto send a message so it doesn't happen
in the future. Because of theseoffenses occurred during a disaster, they are
subject to enhance penalties. We needto set an example. We need to
send the message and don't use thestorm as any kind of an excuse Jeff

(28:29):
Biggs News Radio seven forty KTORH.Yeah, when we talk about customers,
it's residential customers as well as businesscustomers. And right now this morning,
still fifteen days after the hurricane, five hundred Centerpoint customers without power, no
air conditioning. Eight anti Israel protesterswere detained and cited after demonstrating outside Mayor

(28:52):
Widmier, the Mayor of Houston's home, on Friday. They, however,
were not arrested. Looking at ourmoney, gastline prices around Houston three eleven
this morning ten cents higher than theywere a month ago. Staffing shortages we've
been talking about for years aren't gettingany better either. Production, manufacturing,
maintenance are hardest hit. And thisis all across the country. Basically,

(29:17):
it's jobs that require some level ofskill training, typically not a college degree
in most cases, but some levelof skilled training. Yeah, Texas Economists
Repairman says, we're seeing more kidsgraduate high school and go to trade schools
though these days, and they mayhelp resolve staffing issues down the road.
Home sales have may be cooled offa little bit, very quietly, though

(29:40):
home equity has doubled over the lastseven years. American homeowners are sitting on
a record amount of home equity, and a lot of that is attributable to
the fact that home prices are upby nearly fifty percent just since twenty twenty
and bank grades. Greg McBride saystapping into equity not as easy though as
it used to be. Home equityrates are at their highest levels in decades.

(30:02):
It's now five thirty seven. TheAstros back in a tie for first
in the American League whist because theylost to the Mariners six to four.
They're going to be visiting Oakland tonight. Coverage is seven thirty on Sports
Talk seven ninety and here on KTRH. And as we recap our top story,
we got President Joe Biden not runningfor the twenty twenty four e election.

We'll have reaction from RNC committeemen doctorRobin Armstrong at five point fifty.
Coming up in this aura just afew minutes. I'm Sheby Fryer on Houston's

Sugarland dot Com, be Elite, buy Elite. You like free stuff?

(30:44):
We all like free stuff. Guesswhat our iHeartRadio app is free and free
never sounded so good. All right, five thirty eight now Bob Frand sitting
in for Jimmy Barrett. Good Mondaymorning to you. Thanks for being with
us. The lead story, ofcourse, is obvious, but lest anyone
forget, they tried to kill DonaldTrump last Saturday, and this morning,

(31:08):
there will be a reckoning of sortsthe very very questionable Secret Service protection of
Donald J. Trump that resulted ina sniper being able to scale a very
very very close nearby rooftop and takea shot and take several shots at President
Trump, wounding President Trump, killingone and wounding critically to others. The

(31:33):
Secret Service protection was awful, andeverybody is asking why. So today there
will be a hearing in Kimberly.Cheatle, the Director of Secret Service,
will be testifying before the House OversightCommittee. That'll be at about ten o'clock
this morning. Meanwhile, Senator RonJohnson has released a preliminary finding of a
probe into that assassination attempt. Theyfind this and I find this just as

(31:57):
important as that Biden news this morning, because they almost killed Donald J.
Trump. The findings determined that theSecret Service did not attend a security briefing
given to local swat and sniper teamson the morning of July thirteenth. Local
law enforcement said communications were siloed andthey were not in frequent radio contact directly
with the Secret Service, and thatlocal law enforcement notified command about the shooter

(32:22):
Crooks before the shooting and received confirmationthat the Secret Service was aware of the
notification, but that Secret Service wasseen on the roof of the American Glass
Research Building with local law enforcement followingthe shooting. The investigating investigation has also
found that photos of the shooter hadbeen sent to ATF for facial recognition.

(32:42):
Local law enforcement said Secret Service wasinitially not planning on sending snipers to the
rally. Questions about their commitment toproviding President Trump with all of the resources
they needed for protection are going toabound this morning at this very important Overset
Committee hearing, So we're going tostay on top of that as well.
These are extraordinary times. So weare in right now. Okay, it

(33:05):
is five four, and they'll forgetthat share it just said. We're going
to talk to doctor Robin Armstrong comingup at five point fifty about all of
this. Right now, let's talkto Sky Mike and check the traffic.
So far, so good. You'vegot the roadwork on the East Sam.
I think this is going to bea lifestyle from Generation Parkway to west Lake
Houston Parkway. You do it earlyenough, you can get on the feeder.
It's no big woop. Later onthat might become kind of a kerpuffle

(33:25):
if you're coming in from a Tascasitaand you're not quite ready yet. About
forty five minutes from now or aboutthirty minutes from now, I'll jump on
the East Texa instead and get aroundthat stuff. We've got lovely shot here
of the Southwest Freeway at the westLoop six to ten. My friends at
Houston Transtar doing their thing. Welook good so far. Let's check all
the way back to the Brass River. It's a twenty six minutes stroll for

(33:47):
now. Katie Freeway pretty much going, and North Freeway. Getitar, Dave
Mark. If you're going anywhere east, put your visor down. Man.
The full moon is out and thewear wolves and everything. There are no
were wolf's children. Nord's freeways good. Twenty four minutes into downtown SKYMIKEE on
the Generator Supercenter. Dot Com trafficCenter. All right, thanks very much,

(34:08):
Mike. Let's check that forecast now. Terry Smith at the Weather Channel,
Hey, Terry, Hey, goodmorning sky Mike guitar day. Forgot
to mention the many vampires. Whatoh yeah, yeah, yeah, only
if you're in Liberty County though, kids. Well, I'm told we have
many vampires in the form of mosquitos. Oh oh boom bampowright, great,
look out there. That has beena thing on the north side too.

(34:30):
What's going on? Okay, Sowith all this rain, the mosquitoes are
going crazy and we're scrambling to findthe umbrellas, and it's day soggy all
week long. We have an eightypercent chance of showers and storms today,
Tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday, and heavy rains possible with any of these
storms, like heavy rain that maycost some localized flooding. So we'll watch

(34:50):
that upper eighties to low nineties today, mid to upper eighties tomorrow, and
Wednesday and Thursday. We all maybe only in the load to mid eighties

it's a good start. We're inthe Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.

Doctor Robin Armstrong, RNC Committee onjoining us now with reaction and analysis.
Robin, good morning, Good morning, How are you all right? We're
all trying to process this now.Share has raised a really interesting question this
morning, and that is why havewe still not heard anything from the mouth

(37:07):
of Joe Biden. The only thingwe have seen is a tweet that contained
the picture of a letter saying I'mout, and then a second tweet saying,
by the way, I endorse Kamala, What are you reading from that?
Dr Armstrong? Well, I thinkthat he's probably not prepared to make
a statement. Maybe physically he's notprepared. Mentally he's not prepared to make

(37:29):
a statement, you know, oryou know, maybe some of his handlers
are pushing this and he's not involvedat all, you know. I think
it's unfortunate how they have handled JoeBiden over the last few months and years.
It's just shameful. And so itleads us to make these speculations that

(37:49):
maybe he's not involved in this decisionat all. We don't really know how
many decisions he's been involved in becauseof his cognitive state, and so we
questioned that. So I don't knowwhat to make of it. I think
there's a chance that he doesn't evenknow what decision he's made, or he
hasn't been told, you know, what decision has been made about this whole
thing is shameful, but we needto know he needs to speak today or

(38:12):
tomorrow at the latest. Instead,we're being told that Kamala Harris probably will.
While Kamala Harris is not enjoying theendorsement yet, of Chuck Schumer,
the leader of the Senate, norNancy Pelosi, who basically is quietly still
running the Democrats in the House, nor President Obama, the former president.
So this uncertainty and the lack oftransparency, this is just shameful. Beyond

(38:40):
that it cannot possibly be constitutional, right, it is shameful, But the
Democrats have no shame at all theway they've handled this entire process. You
know, we don't even know thatthey're going to accept Kamala Harris. It's
what it is. It's chaos. And I believe the Democrats they love chaos

(39:06):
because they're not a constitutional party. They fly by the seat of their pants.
They make decisions. They've got apresident who they've been making decisions for
the last few years. And soit's just really, really shameful that they
care so little about the Democrat processthat they've allowed this to go on like
this for so long. They haveknown that Joe Biden is cognitive coositively has

(39:31):
deficits. They know that he's beendemented over the last few years. They
haven't said anything about it. Well, this is about his power for them
all, it's about his power. They want to make sure, they maintain
power, and so they're willing totake someone It has nothing to do with
his cognitive state. So they carelittle about the country. They care more
about their power. The only reasonthey're pushing him out is because he's going

(39:53):
to lose in November. He wasgoing to lose in November. That's the
only reason why, well, doctorArmstrong. You know, as recently as
Saturday, Joe Biden's Twitter account said, quote, it's a miracle, folks.
Donald Trump told the truth for once. It's the most important election of
our lifetimes, and I will winit. He said that, or at
least his team put that out underhis Twitter on Saturday. Yesterday morning,

(40:15):
as we know, Cedric Richmond campaignco chair said, he is in it.
He's going to be the nominee. He's going to be the guy.
We're not stopping anything. So,I mean, is it really possible they
sent all of these people out withred herrings or did they literally not know?
Is there that much dysfunction between campaignand party that some of the Donald
Trump surrogates and those who are workingon his behalf or excuse me, Joe

(40:37):
Biden surrogates and people working on hisbehalf, did not know that they were
forcing him out. Well, Ibelieve that the more likely they didn't know.
They said that Joe Biden changed hismind. They sent out his communications
director as well. I mean notas communicating, but they sent out his
campaign manager, who they never sentout. You've never seen her face.

(41:00):
Day was on the Saturday on Sundaymorning shows telling us that he was still
in the race, and so Ithought he was still there on on Saturday
evening, and then all of asudden, he pulls out on Sunday.
I believe that the Democrat Party isan absolute chaos. They're self destructing before
our eyes right now, and Ihope that the American people make them pay

(41:20):
in November. Because of the lackof transparency of the lies, the everything
that's happened in the last few weeks, I believe that they should be punished
in December. I'm hoping that thiswill be a Donald Trump landslide and we
get this horrible time in American historyover with. We don't know what's going
to happen. I think Chicago isgoing to be like nineteen sixty eight.

(41:43):
They're likely going to have riots overthe Middle East issue, and so I
believe it's going to be very chaoticconvention that they're going to be contested,
it's going to be open where they'regoing to have multiple candidates in It sounds
like Joe Mansion's trying to get intothe race, and so I think it's
going to be chaos on their sidefor quite some time, and we just
have to just just ride or rideor die with Donald Trump. That's what's

(42:04):
gonna happen. We're gonna have toelect him in an overwhelming landsline in November.
Last thirty seconds here, doctor RobinArmstrong. We haven't heard from the
chief spokesperson for Joe Biden over thecourse of the last couple of weeks.
And that's Jill. Not a wordfrom what I understand. She has been
his defender, she has been hishis spokesperson. Why have we not heard
from her? You know, there'sa lot of there's a lot of turmoil

(42:25):
in this camp right now. Iimagine Jill and Hunter and not very happy
that this decision has been made forJoe. And I've said it that way
purposely though. This decision has beenmade for Joe Biden because he cannot win,
and so I'm sure they're not veryhappy about it, and so I
would like to hear from them toget their take. Younger this doctor very

(42:47):
quickly. Younger brother Frank just goeshealth. That's about it, right,
health? Right? What does thatmean? Right? Absolutely? Absolutely,
It's shameful. It's shameful what theBidens are doing, what the Democrat Party
is doing. And as I said, I hope that the American people punishes

(43:07):
them in November for their lack oftransparency. They care more about their power
than they do about the country, that's clear. And so I think that
that the electoral map on a fabrush Tran ministry should be a landslide election
in November because of their lack oftransparency, because because of their irresponsibility,
well, they're going to pay aprice to fact is they have Kamala Harris

(43:29):
potentially as their nominee. So thatis a price enough. Remember she was
two percent in the Democrat primaries fouryears ago. Doctor Robin Armstrong, RNC

important morning news from Sheriff Frock.Good morning at six oh two on news

(45:20):
in our top story this hour atthe end of the day, Republicans novel.
Our candidate is Donald Trump, who'snot a puppet, and that's why
he's going to win. In November, Missouri Senator Josh Holly there Joe Biden,
whom we still haven't actually seen, has withdrawn from the election, dictated
by his own party, ending amonth of speculation about his ability after that
disaster of a debate performance. Ialso predicted it the night of the presidential

(45:45):
debate. That night, I dida special podcast that night, and that
night I said this will go downas the most consequential presidential debate in American
history. Texas Senator Ted Cruz onFox. Biden endorsed by the way Vice
President Kamala Harris to pick up thereins, but it took him two statements

(46:05):
released on x Twitter to do so. Joe Manchin, the outgoing West Virginia
Senator, may actually step in andrun now. Many are warning about the
dangers of a Harris presidency. Ifwe cherish peace and freedom and if we
love our country, we must voteagainst Kamala Harris in this election on November

(46:25):
fifth and vote for Donald Trump.Former Democrat Congresswoman Tulca Gabbard. Of course,
George Soros is endorsing Kamala Harris.House Speaker Mike Johnson wants Biden to
go ahead and resign now. Ifhe's not fit enough to run, that
he's not fit enough to serve who'srunning the country. I know the Democrats

(46:47):
are in total disarray, and Iknow the Republican Party is united like never
before. Yeah, Speaker Johnson onABC's This Week. Donald Trump has past.
Saturday did his first rally since theattempt on his life life in Pennsylvania,
and he also predicted there Biden's withdrawal. Sort of interesting. This guy
goes and he gets the votes, and now they want to take it away.

(47:08):
That's democracy. They talk about democracy, let's take it away from him.
Yeah, Trump was in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Well, October surprises.
Did they cut? Is this it? Did it come early? Or
do we have yet another one instore? Maybe that's the only thing left
to stop a second Donald Trump presidency. Melissa McKenzie of The American Spectator says,

(47:30):
well, expect the Democrats to attemptanother hail Mary. Keep in mind
that this can be made up.It doesn't have to be a real thing.
When they had the October surprise withBush and it was the Dan rather
misinformation that was wholly made up,there could very well be a made up
thing in October about Trump. Yeah, he says it won't sway. She

(47:52):
believes it won't sway voters. Mosthave already made their choice. We'll see
Secret Service Director Earley Cheatles. She'sbeen called to testify for the House Oversight
Committee this morning about the lack ofSecret Service security for Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.

(48:12):
He walked in with a ladder,he had a range finder, he
had a weapon, He got ontoa roof that was within short distance.
All of these failures are obvious failures. And that's clearly why the Secret Service
needs needs scrutiny and the director needsto be fired. Why did they let
Trump take the stage. Ohio RepublicanMike Turner their House Intelligence Committee chairman.
He was on CBS Face the Nation. All of this, of course,

(48:35):
coming just before the news broke aboutBiden quitting the campaign, we quickly quit
paying attention to it. State Republicanshave some different questions too about what happened
in Pennsylvania. Senate Republicans. I'msorry, as snipe Pertine, there's in
the AGI billion. They're the firstones that went up on the roof that
they were the first to encounter thatthe dead assassin. At that point in

(48:59):
time, other people join them, and somebody told them to send the pictures
they had taken to an ATF agent, which I think is very strange.
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson says, well, that ATF agent has gone dark,
can't find him, can't talk.Closer to home, we've got funeral arrangements

(49:19):
pending for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee,who died from pancreatic cancer here on Friday.
She was seventy four. Governor GregAbbott has yet to set a date
for a special election to fill outthe rest of her term. Between now
and January, it is six six. Well, if you thought Bidenomics was
bad, The New York Times writestoday that a president Kamala Harris economy would

(49:42):
be even more progressive and radical.During the twenty nineteen Democrat debates, Harris
attacked the Trump tax cuts and proposedreplacing them instead with tax credits for the
people who don't pay taxes. Seehow that works. It's now sick seven.
It's been two weeks since Hurricane Beryl. Centerpoint still has more than five

(50:05):
hundred customers without power this morning, and we do have storms expected throughout our
area through this week, at leastthrough Thursday. Crime is also up post
barrel nine to one one outages bothnationwide and here in Houston are affecting the
ability of police to respond to emergencycalls, and there's a lot of stress
on the dispatch over this. Whatwe have to do, then is rely

(50:30):
on our dispatchers to manually do it. And that's it's really harder than you
think to manually collect the data youneed to send alfers where they need to
be. Yeah, Doug Griffith withthe Houston Police Officers Union. He says,
it's because we've got underfunded agencies usingold and outdated systems. For nine

Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy Barrettand Sheriff Fryer. All right, eight

(51:14):
minutes after six o'clock about Branson ForJimmy Barrett this morning, responding, reacting
to, and analyzing and looking foryour thoughts on what's going on with the
suspension of the Biden campaign. I'dlike you to follow me on Twitter if
you could, and send me amessage in response to this question. Do
you believe that Joe Biden should beremoved from the White House now? Should

(51:37):
he have to resign as president ifhe is acknowledging by way of his pulling
out of his campaign that he cannotserve anymore. Obviously, you just heard
from Shara in the news. Youheard from several prominent Republicans saying he must
be Speaker Mike Johnson, Senator TedCruz, vice presidential candidate, and Senator

(51:58):
JD. Vance all saying that JoeBiden should resign as president. And the
thoughts on this are mixed. Twothoughts. One is that he cannot serve
over the course of the next sixmonths because he is obviously physically and mentally
incapable of doing so. So it'sin the best interest of the country to
have him step down. Let's seewhat it looks like for four months before

(52:19):
people vote under Kamala Harris. Maybeshe'll be good, maybe she'll be awful,
but let's see what happens. Butthe other one, the other thought
here is why give her incumbency status. There is a certain element of that
that is positive. If you arean incumbent president. It's hard to beat
an incumbent president. Why give herfour months to potentially shine? Watch them

(52:42):
put every single ounce of their effortinto making her successful. Watch some metrics
change a little bit, and thenshe goes into the election as do you
really want to vote out the firstblack or minority or what do they call
her, since she's jamaking an Indianperson of color female exactly stress a female
in stress the identity politics there. She's already raised almost fifty million dollars overnight.

(53:08):
The donors are coming in, thedonors, the one the ones who
said, we're not sure. It'sall about the money, Biden. It's
all about the donors. It's allabout having their control and not losing their
power. And so here we are. We've got a little Soros Foundation backing
her. And you know what's funnyabout that. By the way, when
Elon Musk pledged to donate forty fivemillion dollars a month for the rest of
the way, which would be aboutone hundred and eighty million dollars total.

(53:30):
Before the election, the Biden campaigntweeted several times, we will not let
the Republicans buy this election. That'sliterally what they said. Never mind the
hundreds of millions raised by you know, like you said, Sorows and you
know, Bloomberg and Kates and allof these other extraordinarily wealthy left wing billionaires.
But the Republicans can't buy the election. But I want to know from

(53:52):
the people Houston listeners, I wantyou to tell me. Should Biden resign
right now and give Kama Harris' incumbentstatus going into this thing if she is
the nominee, or do you thinkhe should stay on and let them just
continue to suffer and struggle over thenext four months making it easier to beat
them. Uh So let me knowat Twitter. On Twitter, I should
say at France rants f r An t z r A n t z

(54:15):
or just look for my name BobFrance and you'll find me there and let
me know what you think. ScottMike, Hey, we found you in

Looks like two trucks on the leftside. They'd moved this to the shoulder.

(54:37):
But you see a bit of aFishmechal northbound right after Aldan, Aldan,
Westfield, al Meta, Genoa, all these all these names here,
you've got north Sam westbound at AldeanWestfield. There's my wreck here. We

Crazy news day. Let's not turnour attention away from the safety of

Right now, I've documented about fiftypeople charged with burglary of a building.
What burglary of a building really meansis if you're breaking into a business,
and you're doing it during a disaster, which is about as low as

(59:53):
you can get. The actual penaltiesin a non disaster, it's just the
state jail felony, meaning you canget up to two years in a stay
jail. But because these crimes werecommitted during a disaster, here is what
we're going to be watching. Thereshould be enhanced penalties, meaning that all

(01:00:15):
fifty plus defendants will be eligible fora third degree felony, meaning you could
go away for two to ten years. And we're hoping that the courts actually
send a message saying, if you'regoing to commit these crimes during a disaster,
we're going to send you a prisonfor as long as we can and

(01:00:36):
you don't get to breathe free air. Is there a pattern to this?
I mean, do you see anylinks? Does this appear to be organized
or these just individuals who are justtaking advantage of the system. Now,
there were like three groups of threeto four sometimes five that would go into
businesses, so no, they knewwhat they were doing. And keep in

(01:00:57):
mind a lot of the offenders bookedin this wasn't their first dog and pony
show. They've been around a system. We had one guy with ten felony
convictions, another guy with five felonyconvictions. We actually have people who were
out on bond for burglary of thebuilding that decided to take advantage of the
hurricane and resume their criminal career. So most of them knew what they were

(01:01:20):
doing, and they ended up workingin packs. Do we even question the
legal status of these suspects For themost part, I haven't seen anything they
would question anything, whether they werehere legally in this country or not.
Most of them again, appear tohave been in and out of the system.

(01:01:42):
This wasn't like, oh, thisis an opportunity. Most of them
have been, you know, someof them. One guy was on at
five felony convictions. He's on probationfor assault with a beating up a pregnant
woman, doesn't show up to hisprobation, and then he goes to another
county. He's charged with two otherfelonies. He gets convicted there. So

(01:02:06):
now he's on probation in Harris Countyand in Kennedy County he gets charged with
burglar of a building here and atone time he actually was given a pr
bund. It just makes a zerosense, and it makes you question whether
we're truly protecting public safety. Keepingin mind, property offenders actually wreck more

(01:02:28):
damage on a community quite frankly, because this is what they do for a
career. Most people, thankfully don'tgo around killing people and doing other types
of violent crimes on a regular basis, But property offenders, this is what
they do. And as you wellknow, the retail industry is suffering so
much, and especially your business community. Yeah, jobs, jobs, people.

(01:02:52):
When retailer stores get vandalized and damaged, obviously they have to close down
and people can't work, they getno hours, they end up not being
able to feed their families. Thenmaybe it leads to even second secondary crimes
now, and that's why I hatethe definition of non violent crime. They
wrecked havoc on communities. Okay, you say you hope the courts will hold
them to justice. Do you reallyhave any belief that they will? Well,

(01:03:16):
I guess what, because I'm goingto be keeping track of them.
I've got every single descendant who's beencharged during Hurricane Burrow with breaking into a
business. So I'm going to leteverybody know, and I think the public
deserves to know what happens I meanit's great. I tell my law enforcement
buddies, Hey, great, youguys arrested them. That's awesome. Now

(01:03:37):
the real issue begins what happens afterthe arrest. And this is where we're
going to come in and let thepublic know what happens. Andy, that's
a true public service by tracking thosedown and making sure everybody knows what each
and every one of these individuals, you know, how their cases turn out.
That's a very important public service,Andy, kay, I thought the
eyes of Paris County are going tobe upon you. Amen to that.

We would be remiss if we didn'tpoint out that. But for the

I just want to point out theywould not be doing this had there not

we know that Joe Biden wasn't runningthings. Yeah it was. It was

(01:14:54):
you know, people who knew, and it's important that people know this,
people who knew the reality of hiscognitive and physical behind the scenes. We're
doing everything that they could excuse me, the Democrats are doing everything that could
cover that. But the people theyknew tried to tell everybody, and again,
that debate just made public. Itpulled the curtain back on what everybody
had been saying, and it forcedthem to confront the reality of it.

(01:15:15):
That's why those donors you're talking aboutleft, That's why the thirty forty members

Had that debate not happened. They'restill going full steam ahead. It just
shows you the full and utter lackof transparency and the overall dishonesty of the

it's only prudent now to examine, just for a moment, the person that
the Biden administration has endorsed, ratherPresident Biden himself and by way of his

(01:19:33):
team, have endorsed to be theleader of the free world. The person
that Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton yesterdayfell all over themselves to endorse to be
the leader of the free world.I'd like you to picture President Harris engaging
in high level meetings with G eightpartners, G twenty partners and sending a

(01:19:55):
message of strength to the rest ofthe world that the United States is ready
to So Ukraine is a country inEurope. It exists next to another country
called Russia. Russia is a biggercountry. Russia is a powerful country.
Russia decided to invade a smaller countrycalled Ukraine. So basically that's wrong.

(01:20:17):
Don't you just feel inspired by theconfidence and the extraordinarily high intellect being shown
by President Harris there. I amhere standing here on the northern flank,
on the Eastern flank, talking aboutwhat we have in terms of the Eastern
Flank and our NATO allies, andwhat is at stake at this very moment.

(01:20:40):
I mean, we're talking about somereally really like next level type of
intellect. And again I don't know. I hear strength, and I hear
strength projected to the rest of theworld from a friend in need is a
friend indeed. Okay, so thistime President giggles boy just is inspiring.

(01:21:12):
I think this would be a fantasticthing. Maybe that's why Sheriff, since
she talked about Joe Biden, washesitant because she doesn't believe she can beat
Trump. Early numbers Trump plus six, you know, hypothetical matchup. If
Kamala is indeed the nominee right now, Trump plus six, that's very similar
to what he was nationwide over Bidenand in most of the battleground states as
well. In other words, nochange at least at the moment. Yeah,

(01:21:34):
that's national numbers, but it wasthe battleground states. He was winning
every one of them. Yeah, that's right, some by last somebody me
know. I think Pennsylvania was likeby two, Michigan sometimes by one or
two, but the others by sixor seven. And of course this is
the issue for them. But Ijust find it extraordinary now that they're going
to try to sell us Kamala Harrisis being qualified to lead the world,

(01:21:56):
and I want to remind everybody. She announced hers campaign for president scident back
in January of twenty nineteen to amassive crowd of twenty thousand people. She
was going to be transformative. Shewas a female of color in the vein
of Barack Obama when he burst ontothe scene. You know, this is
you know, as the first AfricanAmerican mainstream candidate and nominee ended up being

(01:22:17):
the nominee and then the president. So she was transformative. January twenty nineteen,
she announces her run in front oftwenty thousand people, the largest group
to see a campaign announcement at thattime. After eleven months of campaigning,
she went from getting fifteen percent ofthe of the Democrat primary voting support to
two percent. By December fourth, she had suspended her campaign. Eleven months.

(01:22:41):
He didn't even make it to Iowa. She didn't even make it into
the calendar year of the election twentytwenty. December fourth of twenty nineteen,
she suspended her campaign with two percentof the vote. Democrats got to know
her and hated her. Now theywant us to believe that they love her.
Yeah, that you to let everybodyknow what they've got a home month.
We're not talking about the border anymore. We're not look at what's been

(01:23:02):
going on with the news media.I mean, we're not talking about the
things that the voters care about, the things that impact Americans. It's just
all about inside politics stuff. Who'sit going to be? And this happened,
and that happened. And by theway, now they can cast the
Republicans or anybody who supports Republicans asthe racist party. Again here we go,
Well now they can. Also they'reusing Kamala Harris the fact that she's

(01:23:25):
fifty eight and Donald Trump is nowseventy eight. They're saying Trump is the
old man on the race now,not Biden. And so that's that's the
that's the other part of this.Okay, it is six fifty six.

like to meet this person. Idon't believe that. She says there will
almost certainly be an October surprise thisyear. On the right, Ferrard News
Radio seven forty KTRH. Meantime,a very lively Donald Trupp returned to the
campaign trail this weekend with a rallyin Grand Rapids, Michigan. They keep
saying he's a threat to democracy.I'm saying, what the hell did I

(01:29:19):
do for democracy? Last week?I took a bullet for democracy? What
did I do against democracy? Crazy? Trump with thousands of supporters there in
Michigan. It was his first rallysince he attempted assassination in Pennsylvania. He
confirmed he was never told Secret Servicewas actually actively looking for Thomas Matthew Crooks,

(01:29:45):
the shooter, in the moments atleast an hour and then immediately in
the first ten minutes before Trump becamea target on stage, No one told
you not to take the stage. No nobody mentioned it. Nobody said there
was a problem, and I wouldhave waited for fifteen They could have said,
let's wait for fifteen minutes, twentyminutes, five minutes something. Nobody

(01:30:05):
said. I think that was amistake. Yeah, Trump with Fox's Jesse
Waters. By the way, there'srecent polling that shows that one in three
Democrats actually believes that Trump fated theassassination attempt. Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin
has come forth with some preliminary findingsthat really reveal all sorts of questionable activities

(01:30:28):
or lack thereof by the Secret Service, and that Director Kimberly Cheedle has been
called to testify before Congress later thismorning about the many failures and anomalies of
the protection of Donald Trump. Nearlytwo dozen lawmakers have called on her to
resign, including up Pennsylvania Democrat BrendanBoyle. At hearing starts at nine am

(01:30:49):
Houston time, information about it mightbe squashed, with Harris now giving a
news conference about her candidacy. TexasGovernor Greg Abbott has yet to call a
special session, by the way tofill the seat of Texas Democrat congress Woman
Sheila Jackson Lee, who died onFriday after battling camp pantreatic cancer. Jackson

(01:31:12):

the election in November, well actuallyuntil the new Congress takes over in January.

News Radio seven forty Summer Life,KTRH Okay eight minutes after seven o'clock,

(01:32:21):
Bob Frans and for Jimmy Barrett onthis extraordinarily important and maybe historic Monday morning.
Certainly Sunday was historic as a JoeBiden announced kind of kind of Joe
Biden but the Biden team, somebodywith access to his Twitter announced that he
is no longer running for a presidentfor reelection. He has in two separate

(01:32:42):
tweet announced he is not running anymoreand that Kamala Harris has his endorsement.
Have not heard from Joe Biden, have not seen any video or heard anything
specifically and personally from Joe Biden. But this is where we sit right now.
And so the focus goes in twoplaces. One is President Trump returning
to the campaign trail a week afterbeing shot at and in fact struck in
the ear. Then we had theRepublican National Convention. Now President Trump is

(01:33:05):
back on the trail telling everybody thatJoe Biden was the worst president in American
history and that Kamala Harris will beeasier to beat than he was. That
was part of the messaging that hegave yesterday. And speaking of Kamala Harris,
he might be right. He mightbe right, because this woman is
going to have an awful lot toanswer for, not just a seemingly endless

(01:33:27):
montage of word salads that she hastossed over the course of the last four
years or three and a half yearsas vice president, but also statements,
direct statements that I wonder how youngervoters are going to feel when they hear
things like that, What else dowe know about this population eighteen through twenty
four? They are stupid. Thatis why we put them in dormitories and

(01:33:50):
they have a resident assistant. Theymake really bad decisions. Did you hear
that? Eighteen nineteen, twenty two, twenty one twenty three to twenty four
year old voters. Kamala Harris thinksyou're stupid and by the way, at
the same time, she thinks sixteenyear olds should vote. Do you believe

(01:34:13):
that American should have dete to voteat age sixteen? I'm really interested in
having that conversation. I have totell you that I think that there is
no question that if we are lookingat what is going on in our country,
we are putting more responsibilities on peopleat a younger age, and the
larger number of people that we caninvolve in the electoral process, I think

(01:34:36):
the more robust it would be toget that sixteen year olds should vote.
Eighteen to twenty four year olds aretoo stupid to make good decisions. That
is the new Democrat standard bearer, potentially as they head into an unprecedented period
now of trying to find a nominee. All right, ten minutes after seven
o'clock we have. This is goingto be, by the way, the

(01:34:56):
routine for the next several weeks, certainly up until there can and then we'll
see where it goes. Everybody's goingto be going back and listening to Kamala
again. Let's listen to sky Mike. Now on the track two eighty eight
southbound County Road fifty eight, whichis also the Croy Road exit. I
see this red pickup truck. Ican't see what's behind it, but it's
not a horse trailer. He didhave some kind of deal and a jackknife.

(01:35:17):
This is one two. It's reallyall lanes blocked here and they're getting
around on the left shoulder. It'soutbound, not inbound. That does look
like everybody's okay, Nord Sam.This is we cleared the wreck at Alding

Two left lanes are missing here. Also, I've got a truck accident.
It's a minor off the north Freewayramp that takes you to the Beltway,

(01:35:41):
and that's a Beltway westbound over towardVeterans Toll Plaza. And a third problem
north Sam eastbound before two forty nine. That's a two minor car kerpuffle.
It's over on the shoulder here.Katie Freeway is starting to smash up now

good morning, Bob and Skymike.I try really hard not to be
hazardous, but sometimes I just can'thelp myself. The main thing we're looking

(01:36:28):
at that possibility of some flooding, not that it's going to happen anytime soon,
but these thunderstorms are with us throughThursday, and eighty percent chance of
showers and storms every day between nowand Thursday, and some heavy rain at
time, so we may wind upwith localized flooding. And we'll keep you
posted. Upper eighties to low ninetiestoday, mid to upper eighties tomorrow and

(01:36:49):
Wednesday, and temperatures Thursday load tomid eighties. That's the upside to the
rain. It's cooler, all right, Thanks very much. Terry Kamala,
what'd you think of that? Forecast. Okay, a little funny. Okay,

that has taken Joe Biden's re electioncampaign from him and fourteen million Democrat voters.
Pete Seed is a political analyst formerWhite House spokesperson under GW. Bush.

(01:39:24):
Pe Good morning, Good morning foryou. Do you buy that Joe
Biden is behind and supportive of thissuspension of his campaign or did they do
this without his approval? Because hedid not issue any kind of a statement
directly, He did not go onvideo. This is something that was typed
up, probably not by him.Do you think he actually supports this decision?

(01:39:47):
Well, it would certainly be normalfor staff to type up something to
draft this statement, even one ofthis magnitude. And I'm a belief.
I know that there's some skepticism outthere, but I'm of the belief that
this was just a stubborn individual, someone who has been in public service for

(01:40:11):
fifty odd years, who just couldnot fathom relinquishing power and control. And
on top of that, the peoplewho surround him, they did not want
to relinquish control. These are peoplewho have been at his side for thirty
years who finally made it to thepinnacle of politics, and they didn't want

(01:40:32):
to let go of what they finallyachieved. And I think that's why they
were giving him this rosy news alongthe way that yeah, yeah, yeah,
there's still a path, there's stilla path, when every other American
knew there was absolutely no path forhim to win. And yeah, Kamala
Harris has been complicit in all ofthis cover up all the way through,
and now all of a sudden she'sa shining star banner carrier. What's that

(01:40:57):
all about. Yeah, well,I don't know about that. I mean,
look, Kamala Harris could couldn't evenget traction when she herself was running
for president in twenty twenty, shehad a colossal disaster of a campaign.
She's been entirely behind the scenes andout of the spotlight. As Vice President,
she's been the borders are an issueyou all know pretty well being where

(01:41:19):
you're situated, and look at howthat has turned out with Kamala Harris at
the head of that. But Iwill say this, I want to say
this to all my friends on theRepublican side of the aisle. You cannot
be complacent Kamala Harris, and Iwould you could put any other name in
there. Kamala Harris is formidable insofaras she is not Joe Biden. Anyone

(01:41:44):
is better than Joe Biden. Doyou believe that, Jill, Because you
mentioned so many of the people whodid not want to relinquish power. Is
Jill Biden at the head of thatlist? And again, she has been
conspicuous by her silence since the statementreleased on Twitter yesterday. I don't know.
I've heard a lot of comparisons toEdith Wilson. Of course, Woodrow

(01:42:04):
Wilson was bedridden for the last Ithink eighteen months of his presidency, and
his wife was really running the show. There are certainly a lot of questions
and we don't have nearly enough answersabout what's actually been happening inside the White
House, who's in control, who'srunning the operation? And I could see

(01:42:26):
the first lady pushing her husband tostick it out, But however, the
decision was made. It was ultimatelymade, and now Republicans need to focus
on the next nominee, who likelywill be Kamala Harris. So what about
Americans? Americans deserve to know who'srunning the country and we're not being told.
Apparently it's the polit bureau. Youknow, we now have a party,

(01:42:49):
we have a cabal has been runningthe country all these months, and
they have just stepped right in inorder to force a president out of office.
Well, I think the polling iswhat forced the president out of office,
the fact that his disastrous policies haveled to historically low approval ratings.

(01:43:14):
You look at the issues that mattermost to the American people, like the
economy and inflation and immigration, andwhere is Joe Biden. He is completely
underwater. He's at the bottom ofthe ocean on all of these issues,
whereas Donald Trump is viewed favorably onthose top tier issues. So again I

(01:43:34):
fall in the camp of I thinkhe finally saw the light and finally realize,
hey, there's no path forward.I also want to point out real
quick look at folks like Shared Brownin Ohio and John Tester and Montana who
are incredibly in incredibly competitive re electioncampaigns, and they called on Joe Biden

(01:43:57):
to withdraw. Why. I don'tthink it's because they're trying to pressure him.
It's because of political survival. Theywere trying to save themselves they saw
the ship sinking and they did notwant to be a board when it went
down. So you're saying that thepresident still has full control of the nuclear
codes. I'm not there, soI can't tell you what's going on.

(01:44:23):
But look, I've been in aWhite House. I know there are a
lot of checks and balances within thebuilding. I know the people who actually
hold the nuclear football and they aretop notch quality human beings, and they
are going to make sure whoever isin control that nothing bad is going to

(01:44:44):
happen. Well, we're going tokeep our fingers crossed on that. Pete
Seed has been in the White House, White House spokesperson under President Bush.
Pete, thanks for the analysis. We appreciate that, sir. Thanks,
I have a good one. Yougot it. Seven twenty seven. Let's

(01:53:11):
Shara, you mentioned that she's goingto be speaking at ten thirty, and
I think everybody who's going to bewatching to see exactly what she has to
say. I wonder if she willaddress potential running mates. We haven't discussed
that this morning. Of all ofthe elements we've talked about here, who
might be a good second name ona Harris dash ticket. I will offer

(01:53:34):
a suggestion because of the fact thatidentity politics literally DEI and identity politics are
at the core of everything in theDemocrat platform. In fact, it's the
only reason why Kamala Harris was chosenas the vice president your running mate for
Joe Biden because he pledged to picka female of color in order to get

(01:53:54):
James Clyburne, the kingmaker in theDemocrat Party, largely to get his support.
That's what took him over the topwhen he was just a another one
of the candidates in the Democrat primariesin twenty nineteen. He pledged to choose
a woman of color. There youhave Kamala Harris. It's why she was
picked, and I wonder if therewon't be in there a lot of names

(01:54:14):
being floated around. Joshapiro is oneof those, but I wonder if she
won't look to the DEI machine again, pledging diversity the same way Joe Biden
did with all of his bizarre castof characters. He's chosen for administration positions,
including counterpositions, based on their identificationin a certain marginalized group. So
I am hearing and looking at anotherone of her opponents from the twenty nineteen

(01:54:39):
primaries, Mayor Pete now the Secretaryof Transportation. Pete Boodhajig was in that
race with Kamala and Biden and everybodyelse in twenty nineteen. And I wonder
if Harris boodhajidj is in the officevery well be Yeah, you know,
black or a person of color atthe top of the ticket, the first
gay, openly gay person at thebottom of the ticket. And now you

(01:55:01):
insulate yourself from criticism because of racismand homophobia. Yeah, well, I
mean you thought, I mean,I'm trying to figure it out. I
mean, these are suggestions. Whatare your thoughts. Well, I think
that there's also some other DEI typesout there, and certainly ones that can
galvanize the party. And I'm sosure that Pete Boody Judge would galvanize the
party the way they think it would. I think they've already got that faction,

(01:55:25):
that wing of DEI with the Democrats. But we're going to be talking
with political analyst Chris Bagollan. Hetold us about eighteen months ago that it's
going to be Michelle Obama, sowe've got a good reason to kind of
hold his feet to the fire. They're going to have an open convention.
There's there's no guarantee that Kamala Harrisand if they can find somebody to replace

(01:55:46):
her with, we don't even needto be talking about number. Five hours
ago. I would have agreed withthat, but since you reported Shara that
she got fifty million dollars raised overnight, I feel like there is no open
convention in the opera that could comefrom That could come from do well true,
it could have come from sorrows.I mean we still know. Yeah,
but that's a sign. I mean, if that's you know, the

(01:56:06):
endorsement of Biden, the endorsement ofHillary, the endorsement of Bill, and
on and on and on, andnow big donor to endorsements or at least
contributions, I feel like this isall setting up there. Well, she
can cut a deal too, youknow, decide she's gonna withdraw. I'm
really looking forward to the conversation withChris Pagala, which is we need to
ask him about that. I'm sorryI had to step out for a minute.
I had erroneously said that Hillary Clintonwas in addressing the nation at ten

(01:56:31):
thirty. Is Kamala Harris is goingto give a speech at ten thirty?
Our time, got it, andwe're going to be listening intently. Okay,

that keep playing the same old songsover and over. But he's telling me

we should have some exact langage. At seven fifty six to ten, north's

(02:00:26):
welcome Chris Bagala, political analyst,to the program live from Costa Rica with
analysis of the breaking news. Chris, good morning, Hey, good morning.
How are y'all? We're doing great? Thanks for being here at Bob
France and for Jimmy along with Scheraand I am told that you made a
prediction many many many months ago,in fact, over a year ago now
that Joe Biden would not make itto this general election, and as of

(02:00:50):
yesterday you were right. What's yourread? Well, you know, I
just thought it was not going tohappen, even though the media, you
know, the White House mostly almostevery single Democrat, tried to hide President
Biden's you know, issues with hismental acuity. I was not surprised.

(02:01:11):
Clearly, since June twenty seventh, the tube was out of the toothpaste.
The media turned on him immediately,as did the elite whoever is running this
country, because God bless him,we know Joe Biden isn't. But I
was not surprised. You know,I still think Kamala Harris has some has
some work to do. Clearly, the Biden endorsement is strong. The Clinton's

(02:01:38):
endorsement both Hillary and President Bill Clintonis much stronger. And she's got some
strong support already from the Democrats inthe House and whatnot. So she's not
there yet. It's turning on adime this this election. I think you're
going to see a lot more chaos, but I do think Kamala Harris is
gonna is going to be at thetop of the ticket. Time. It

(02:02:00):
prevents the Republicans from making any headway. The momentum is stopped in terms of
talking about what's wrong with this countryand what needs to be done to fix
it, because all the speculation onmainstream media and even some of the lesser
dans has been about it's going tobe nothing, NonStop about who's going to
be running and who's going to bethe running made we don't talk about it.

(02:02:23):
We don't talking about illegal immigration anymore, right and Share, You're right,
it's going to take a lot ofthe oxygen out of the room on
critical issues. But I think thatthe Trump campaign has done a great,
great, great job on sticking tothe issues and they're turning more to got

(02:02:45):
a friend here on the porch here, but they're turning to Kamala. I
think they are. And I thinkafter some of this oxygen gets out of
the room, maybe in a fewweeks, everybody still is going to be
focusing on what your trip to thegrocery store, the gas station where else.
Everything is more expensive, and Ithink they're going to also turn to

(02:03:06):
border and those issues that will getthere. It's just going to be a
little bit later than normal. Well. I think they hit it pretty hard
actually yesterday, I mean the dayof the announcement. By last night,
they had an ad released, athirty second ad by a Trump pack crushing
Kamala, obviously pointing out that shewas part of the cover up of the
Joe Biden cognitive decline, but thenalso hitting the policy, saying she owns

(02:03:29):
them, including border and inflation, every bit as much as Joe Biden does.
So I don't think they're letting toomuch grass grow underneath their feet here,
No, I agree, Bob,and I think they've done a good
job already, and previous over thelast two weeks, they were doing the
same thing. Look, inflation's adisaster. The border security is a disaster,
the disasters on foreign policy. KamalaHarris is a part of all of

(02:03:54):
that. And that's what the Trumpcampaign has done, and that's we're going
to do. That's what they're gonnado even more so in the future.
And also they've taken a few digs, you know what, interesting thoughts from
Kamala and you know, a littlebit of satire there but showing some of
her gaffes as whatnot. But Ithink that'll continue. The Trump campaign has

(02:04:15):
done a very good job. They'regoing to sit back a little bit right
now leading up to the Democratic Conventionbecause I think there's still some chaos to
ensue. We'll see, and thenwho's going to be the second person on
the ticket? If Kamala Harris isthe presidential candidate for the Democrats, who's
going to be the second And it'salso possible, I don't think it's going

(02:04:38):
to happen, but it's possible thatPresident Biden could step aside and Kamala Harris
could be president in a few monthsand therefore maybe a little extra boost.
Yeah, you know, she's basicallyan underdog right now. Her own party
is making her sort of an underdog. Trump's got to be very careful.
He can't attack an underdog because Americadoesn't like down stick to the issues,

(02:05:01):
and I think they will, aswe say in Texas, stick to your
knitting. And I think President Trumpand this overall campaign is going to do
a very good job. And Ithink jd Vance even goes higher now.
He's going to be so impressive outthere on the campaign trail. He has
already whoever they put up against himon the other side I don't think can

(02:05:25):
stand up to him. His storyis amazing. He's an exceptional communicator.
I think the choice that Donald Trumpmade for jd Vance is an excellent one.
I do too, and I thinkit's jd Vance is probably very disappointed
he may not get to stand acrossthe debate because I think he was looking
forward to that, and look athis jobs. After what Tulca Gabbert did
to her in twenty nineteen, youcan imagine what jd Vance would have done

(02:05:46):
to her in a vice president.I wonder if should be bothering to even
debate with Donald Trump now. Hesays he wants the next debate to be
at Fox not ABC. Right,He's got conditions now since they pulled it
out from underneath them with by bootingJoe Biden. He said, now it's
on my terms and this is whatI want. So we'll see if it
even comes to pass. Chris Pigala, thank you for the analysis there from

(02:06:08):
Costa Rica. We appreciate it.Nice job on the prediction. You nailed
it. Let me know when you'replaying the lottery next time, and I
want the numbers, all right,Thanks y'all, all right, thank you,
Chris Sheriff, thank you. We'reout of time bird squawk, and
I hope. I was worried thatmaybe throttled it, but it's okay.
I'm in for Jimmy all week. We've got a lot of analysis to do.
Thanks for listening. Stay here onHouston or on news radio. So
