Speaker 1 (00:00):
How would things change under a Kamala Harris presidency when
it comes to Texas and the United States oil industry.
You think you think Biden's bad, this would be even worse.
Bill Flynn joins US energy market analyst with Price Futures Group.
Pretty well known where Kamala stands on energy. She's anti fracking,
She's just generally anti anything that's not electric. You there,
(00:25):
Phil the.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Energy industry, I am here. Can you hear me? Okay?
Speaker 1 (00:28):
I got you know? Hello?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
There you go, Hey, Jimmy, good morning, good morning. No,
you're right. I mean, this is going to keep people
in the energy industry up at night, and not only
people in the energy industry, but average Americans because her
policies are so far out there, they're so far to
the left. They're so into this green New Deal where
(00:51):
it's really going to increase the cost of energy for
everybody listening to the show, and it's going to make
the economy less efficient. It's going to lead to really
subdued economic growth in this country.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Sure has been a gravy train for all those buddies
I mean in the green movement, the green energy thing.
And she was the one who cast the deciding vote,
by the way, on that budget.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
She did. And there's been billions and billions of dollars
that have been thrown up against the wall, and they
hope something sticks, right, you know, But so far, the
inefficient ways that they've tried to use this money, it
really has been the definition of government boondoggle, right. You know.
They were supposed to be millions and millions of electric
(01:39):
car chargers. I think they've built eight, right, you know.
And at the same time, they're trying to criminalize the
oil and gas industry. Right, people just join their jobs,
you know, are going to get fined, They're going to
be regulated out of business. In for Americans, they want
to take away your stove, they want to take away
your lawnmower, you know, they want to take away your car,
(02:01):
and essentially they want to control your life. And that's
really what this Green New Deal is all about.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah, she's more Bernie Sanders than anything else when it
comes to energy. And then at the other end of
the coin, you got Donald Trump that wants to drill,
baby drill. Can you think of a time when we've
had two candidates more polar opposites when it comes to energy.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
We really haven't. And you know, I mean when I
look at energy, you know, I look at it, you know,
as part of the economy. I look at it as
you know, stability for the country. I mean, world wars
are won and lost by you know, the party which
with the ability to use energy. Let's fase it. And
(02:41):
you know it's so short sighted. For example, you know,
Kamala Harris says, hey, I don't want to drill you know, offshore. Well,
do you realize that drilling in the Gulf of Mexico
is the cleanest way to produce oil in the world,
you know, And so these doo good policies like oh,
we're going to save the planet by driving electric cars
really does nothing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and it
(03:05):
just makes the planet more dangerous.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yeah. The sad thing is too many voters grew up
on all these cartoons all day on Saturday that depicted dirty,
dirty oil refineries and oh, trying to save our planet.
I mean, it's just unbelievable the lack of knowledge of
the voting public, or at least we're led to believe
they don't have this knowledge.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
No, you're absolutely right. And listen, the United States has
made incredible, you know progress, you know in producing clean
energy over the last thirty to fifty years, and we
do it better and cleaner than anyone else in the world.
In this fantasy that somehow we're going to be able
to replace fossil fuels with alternative energies in the foreseeable futures,
(03:54):
it's just it's just a joke. And you know, when
you actually do the math, it really hurts the economy. Listen.
You know, I think you know, the war between Russia
and Ukraine had an energy component behind it. Russia knew
they could act because Europe is still dependent on them
for energy even during the Ukraine War.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
You know.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
And then if you look at the fact that you know,
other countries are trying to you know, secure energy supplies
like in China and India, you know from our adversaries,
that should be a wake up call that if we
want to stay powerful in the world, and if we
want the economy to do well, you know, we really
need American energy to lead the world because we do
(04:35):
it better than anybody else now we do.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Phil, Thanks as always good to talk to you, sir.
