Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is it really about personality? Maybe it is, Maybe it is.
You know, for people who don't like Donald Trump, it
usually is his personality that turns them off. But you'd
like to think that I don't need to like personally
the president of the United States. I need to respect
him and I need to like where he stands on
the issues. But that's just me. Anthony Russo joins this

(00:20):
political commentator. If you had to put a percentage on
and Anthony, how many people do you think vote based
on personality more than on the issues.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Ah Man, in today's day and age, I would I
would go eighty percent or more.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Wow, possibly even higher. That's why I think the most
important voting block is.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
That five to ten percent that each election goes either
direction based on the issues. The rest I mean, I'd
have to say the cult personality when it comes to
the president, specifically the president, I think is higher than
any other voting voting a stage or block.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Okay, So we have a very interesting situation right now
in that Kamala Harris, prior to her coronation this week,
was the most disliked vice president basically since polls were taken,
and now all of a sudden is this going to
affect the.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Vote in terms of, you know, the cult personality theory.
I think it is an interesting one to look at,
specifically with Kamala Harris, because it's still the reason why
I think it's so high specifically going into this election
is because of Trump, because of Harris. People that somehow

(01:34):
in the last two weeks, the mainstream media has found
a way to make Kamala Harris likable enough to actually
be a candidate.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
They'll say, here's our choice, here's Kamala Harris.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
But the true cult personality in this case is whether
you do like or dislike Donald Trump. So the culture
personality is very true, just more specifically.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
To Donald Trump in this case.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
But what they've done to polish up that bag of
whatever of Kamala Harris last two weeks shows that they
have actually created kind of this weird cult following for
a woman that two and a half weeks ago is
number ten on the list of potential candidates for VP
or for a fight or I'm sorry to replace Joe
Biden's president.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
All right, well what happens if you don't like the
personality of either candidate.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Well, then you got you can look at RFK but honestly,
I think that one always outweighs the other. You can
have a conversation with somebody like, I know you don't
like your who's your lesser of two evils? And whenever
the word evil comes up, you're starting to Typically in
today's world, you're gonna hear Trump is the more evil,
which is which is painful? And I'm gonna be honest,
this is what I've noticed. This is what this is

(02:44):
what I had an epiphany in the last couple of days.
The reason why Kamala Harris is a dangerous candidate is
because of something we don't ever see. She didn't have
to primary, and I know that sounds simple on the surface,
but what happens when you primary is you have to
take platform issues that are that are far towards your

(03:05):
side's base. So it's like Donald Trump did an impressive
job to try to avoid the abortion pro life issue,
But if you're going to be a candidate for the
conservative side, you're gonna.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Have to talk about stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
If you are a pro choice candidate, most likely you're
not going to be able to get the denomination from
the right, whereas.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
From the left.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
You go through the whole process, and you have to
put all these far left ideas out there, like you know,
gun buybacks, which is something mandatory gun buybacks, which is
something Kamala Harris has talked about in the past. She
didn't have to primary on it, and then now she
could just say that's an old issue for her.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
She doesn't agree anymore.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Getting rid of ice doesn't have to I don't feel
that way anymore. So all these things are something that
her campaign has come out with in the last five
to seven days that essentially shows the fact that if
you don't primary, you get to look like a moderate
candidate if you want to. It's a very dangerous position
for somebody to be in when they never had to
actually set up platform for the last year in order

(04:02):
to get their party nominator.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
With the assist from the mainstream media who are all
on her camp ap saying she's calibrating. She's not lying,
she's calibrating.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I like that term, Anthony Russo. We have to leave
it at that for today, But thank you so much,
political commentator, Anthony Russo. It's five fifty seven
