Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Texas border has been certainly more secure than other
States borders thanks to the efforts of Governor Greg Abbott.
You know, he was bussing thousands of migrants north. Are
those buses still rolling? Remember? Is it that the at
least an NBC report, I mean, taken with the grain
of salts coming from NBC, says that there's just not
enough migrants of the Texas bordering more to bust them.

(00:21):
Joining us to talk about it is Art Arthur, former
immigration judge at the Center for Immigration Studies. I know
the flow has slowed significantly, but do you believe that
to be true, Art, that there's no longer enough migrants
so called migrants at the border for US to send
buses north.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Well, there's still plenty. There are enough migrants at the
border for it to be an issue not only for
Texas but for the rest of the United States. But
because of efforts taken by Governor Abbot operation to hold
the line, because the Mexican government on the other side
is actually beating up its enforcement of those third country
migrants passing through Mexico, the numbers have dropped and so

(00:58):
there probably are few or people who are apprehended entering
illegally for Texas to move. But there's an important caveat
to that, and that is that the Biden Harris administration
is now funneling one thy four hundred and fifty other
migrants through the ports of entry, including those critical Texas ports,
every day, more than thirty three thousand people per month.

(01:20):
So yeah, don't let the numbers deceive you. They may
be a bit more diffuse than they were before. We're
not seeing the numbers of people coming in through the
Rio Grand Valley through Del Rio that we've seen before.
But yeah, no, the problem is still there and it's
probably going to get worse as the as the fall starts.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah, it's so amazing to me. We have a federal
government working hand in glove with NGOs, non governmental industries.
They called they're an industry. They call themselves charities, but
they're not. They're working with cartels basically to get people
into this country. I just I can't understand it, and
I can understand why patrol officers now are running at

(02:02):
great risk of committing suicide. Not to mention the judges,
we don't have enough judges to have The whole thing
is just totally out of control.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Yeah, no, And I mean that's a huge problem. Patrol
morale has been down for the better part of the
last four years. They know that they're really not valued
by anybody in the White House or at DHS headquarters.
And you know, for the last four years, the cartels
have basically controlled the border. They decide who's going to
come up. Now, for some reason, the Biden administration waited

(02:34):
until December last December to go to the Mexican government
and ask them to kindly stop that flow of third
country migrants who are flowing through their country. Keep in mind,
part of the root cause of strategy that Kamala Harris
was in charge of involved her going to Mexico City
to talk to Andre's Bonwell Lopez opd or the president

(02:57):
of that country and to convince him to beef up
the border. She did that back in twenty twenty one,
and yet for some reason, that never actually came to
fruition until the last few months. And at the same time,
you know, the Biden administration has crafted is completely illegal
court strategy. You literally download an app on your phone

(03:17):
like it's open table. You pick a time that you
want to show up at a port of entry, a
thousand miles away and then you just walk through Mexico
and show up on time. Ninety six percent of those
people who schedule using the app are paroled into the
United States, which means to get work authorization. It can
live here indefinitely while there are asylum claims for being
heard of. This asylum claims take about four to ten

(03:38):
years to hear. So give you an idea how big
a problem it's still.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Facing it well, and imagine how bad it is going
to be come October. If you know, if there's concern
on behalf of these migrants that Trump gets elect because
they know things will change.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Well, we know what's happening here in Texas, but when
you have NBC News coming out and giving cover, nobody
has nothing to see here see for the rest of
the country.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Art, thanks for joining us, Sure do appreciate it. Art Arthur,
former immigration judge at the Center for Immigration Studies,
