Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is five p. Fifty two. Now here in Houston's
Morning News. There are eight American Thinker has another we
love American Thinker, it makes us think. And they have
a piece called eight Primary Forces that threat in America today.
Terry Schilling joins as president of the American Principles Project.
I was taking a look at that piece, Terry, and
I think when you get right down to it, one
(00:22):
of the big things is trust. I mean you can
almost wrap all of this around trust in our lack
of trust of what's going on with the US government today.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
That's exactly right, Jimmy. And the thing is the government
and all of our major institutions have lost our trust
over the years. Right, you turn on the one of
the threats that he brings up as the mainstream media,
right and the education system. These are two prime examples
of how people that have lied to us, who have
taken advantage of us, who have betrayed us. Right, the
(00:55):
education system has not only tried to indoctrinate our children
into Hay country, getting confused about gender, you know, judging
their peers on race, but they aren't even teaching our
kids basic skills like math and reading. And then you
look at the mainstream media. You know, there was an
interesting step that came out a few weeks ago from
the Media Research Center and Brent Bozel eighty four percent
(01:18):
positive cover sha Kamala eighty nine percent negative coverage for Trump,
and he's still neck and neck. People don't trust the
mainstream media because they know they're getting led to. There
are several threats, but they're all most of them are
coming from from the inside of the internal of the
United States.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
We haven't gotten to famine yet. And I mean there
are the conspiracy theories as people who look into the
future are always labeled. With food prices going as they are,
with supply lines being cut, with farmland being sold to
other interests, big money people. It's not such a far
(01:56):
stretch of the imagination, is it.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
No, And and with the price controls, and you know
Kamala Harris talking about limiting price gouging by you know,
grocery stores. By the way, that's totally false. We will
get a food shortage if that's what happens. If they
do price controls. Grocery stores all across the country, they
on average, they have at most a four percent price
(02:21):
mark are profit margin when every time you go to
the store, if you spend one hundred bucks, they're making
maybe four dollars off of you. They're not gouging you.
That's not how those those chains work. But it's it's
very There are a lot of different threats to our
to us as Americans today, and uh, it's going to
be interesting to see if we rise up and do
the right thing.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
The selection well, and one of the other threats is
external threats. We have a lot of external threats. We
have Radical Islam, we have China, we have Iran, we
have Russia, we have North Korea, and we have a
US military right now that appears to be unprepared to handle,
especially if we were involved in a war two front war.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
That's exactly right. So, but the thing is, the foreign
threats don't matter unless the domestic status of the United States,
unless we are weak inside, right, And that's why all
the internal threats are such a big deal. And that's
what Ray I'm sorry sitting Matt Reagan, the other great
American president, Abraham Lincoln, that's what he was talking about
(03:18):
is you know, we're protected by oceans. Our real threats
come from inside. If America dies, it's going to because
we committed suicide. Essentially.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, open borders and war on energy, those are the
two big ones, and if those were stopped, we might
have a chance to survive.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
I think that's right. We're bringing in a lot of criminals,
a lot of bad people that we don't want here.
It's weakening our national trust. Right. When laws need to
be enforced, right, you have to know that laws are
going to be applied equally to everyone. Because as soon
as you start giving special treatment to one group and
allowing them to break the law, other people start to
think that they can break the law. It breaks down
(04:00):
civil trust and it leads to civil unrest, and it's
just a disaster.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, for the state of society today. Not very good, Terry,
Thank you. Terry Schilling, President of the American Principles Project,
is five p. Fifty six.
