All right, let's let's start out on the North Freeway

the West Fork right, let's call it Crichton Road. Outbound,
not inbound. All of your main lanes are shut down.
I'm seeing lights all over the place and emergency responders
on part arsy blocked here.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
But it's outbound. All lanes are closed.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Nothing good's happening, and I know we'll know more at
five ten. Also, we've reopened that ramp on the north
loops six ' ten at the east text. We had
that crazy wreck yesterday where the tanker thing fell off.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
I'm Skymike and the.

Sunshine with a high today right about eighty eight. You'll
notice it's a little cooler this morning when you get
up in about at least it feels less human. We'll
get the forecast details with Terry Smith at the Weather
Channel latest on Milton when we talked to her in

it's time down for the news. Here's Sheriff Ryer and.

Speaker 6 (01:41):
Good morning everyone. Is now five o two on news
radio seven forty k t RH. Our top story this hour.

Speaker 7 (01:48):
Anti Semitic bigotry has no place in a civilized society.
It has no place in the United States.

Speaker 6 (01:55):
President Donald Trump in Florida yesterday speaking on the first
anniversary of the October seventh terror attacks on Israel. Kamala
Harris's husband, second gentleman dug him Off took a different tone.

Speaker 8 (02:07):
May we see the day when the war and bloodshed cease.

Speaker 6 (02:14):
Just hours later, at a pro Hamas protest in New York,
it was actually a mob there beating up a pro
Israel's supporter. At least six anti Israel rioters were arrested.
It's five two coming up in five O three, election day,

(02:37):
exactly four weeks away. JD Vance's debate departments last week
has a race what polsters claimed was a four point
lead for Kamala Harris. Yahoo now calls the race a
dead heat. I get ready for a repeat of twenty twenty.
It's starting to look more and more like we're gonna
be waiting days once again, even weeks to get the

(02:57):
counting done in this election.

Speaker 9 (03:00):
So how long should you expect to wait on November fifth?

Speaker 10 (03:03):
Certainly conceivable. It could take a couple of days, and
it's not outside the rem of possibility. It could take
a few weeks, but hopefully not.

Speaker 9 (03:10):
Former Texas GOP chairman Steve Monastery told KTRH the election
being incredibly close could also slow things down more.

Speaker 10 (03:17):
Anytime you have a razor thin margin, no matter what
technology you use, it can prolong the result. If it's
by a wide margin, it won't.

Speaker 9 (03:26):
Monastery says that the timeline will probably look different for
each of the swing states, and whoever loses will raise challenges.
Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
A victory for Texas abortion law at the US Supreme
Court Justice has decided they will not hear the Biden
Harris attempt to impose federal mandate over Texas law, which
by the way, already provides medical care for abortion emergencies.
Continued existence of the High Court, though, is on the
ballot this November. If Democrats get control of Congress in

(03:57):
the White House, they want to pack the court and
institute term limits on justices, basically subjugating the court to
political control. Former federal prosecutor Andrew church Caskey tells Fox
term limits they would require a constitutional amendment.

Speaker 11 (04:15):
However, the Constitution demand the Supreme Court justices have a
term for life, So that's an initial hurdle to this idea.
But it shows the extreme policies and ideas coming from
the Biden Harris camp in trying to essentially undo laws
they don't like.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Yeah. In fact, Oregon Democrat Senator Ron Windon has already
introduced to Bill and Congress to add six more justices
to the US Supreme Court. Five oh five is our time.
Hurricane Milton has weakened somewhat to a one hundred and
fifty five mile an hour category for hurricane It was
a Cat five Briefly landfall expected along the west coast

(04:54):
of Florida near Tampa sometime tomorrow, with a trajectory across
the entire peninsula into the Atlantic.

Speaker 12 (05:03):
The Hurricane Center tells us this will be an unprecedented
historic impact to the Tampa Bay region.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Polk County, Florida Emergency Management Director Paul Womble there Kamala
Harris is turning this storm into a political issue, calling
Florida Governor Ron Dessanta is selfish for not taking her
phone calls regarding federal response efforts and the governor's reaction.

Speaker 13 (05:29):
She has no role in this. In fact, she's been
Vice president for three and a half years. I've dealt
with a number of storms under this administration. She has
never contributed anything to any of these.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
Efforts political grand standing. There Dessanta has told kg R
A Joshan Hannity that Harris was quote delusional. More than
one hundred and fifteen thousand people in North Carolina still
don't have power, some don't have water or food, nearly
two weeks after Hurricane Helene hit them. The death toll
remains two hundred and thirty two for now. White House

(06:02):
response and priorities were called out yesterday by Fox reporter
Peter Doocey at the White House.

Speaker 14 (06:10):
The administration has money to send to Lebanon without Congress
coming back. The Congress does have to come back to
accrew money to send to people in North Carolina to
have that right.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Well, spokesperson Karine Jean Pierre didn't like the question. She
called it misinformation, and she stormed out of the briefing.
She just refused to answer. Doucy also mentioned Lebanon. You
heard with the Middle East on fire, the CIA now
looking for new informants spies for them in Iran, China
and North Korea and Shara.

Speaker 15 (06:44):
They have actually posted one ads online and even on
the dark Web.

Speaker 16 (06:50):
It's macks of desperation to me, honestly.

Speaker 15 (06:53):
That is Max Dribbler, a former senior intelligence officer, who
says this almost sounds like a movie, but it's real.

Speaker 17 (07:01):
Not just looking for Joe to work at a ramnfactory
and looking for special skills.

Speaker 16 (07:07):
You know, it's some does mimic a movie.

Speaker 15 (07:09):
Apparently the CIA has plenty of informants in Russia, but
not with our other adversaries. Chuff Biggs, News Radio seven
forty kt H.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Back to our money. How strongly does the Biden Hears
administration want all of us to drive evs? Taxpayer funded
subsidies to the Greenies will be topping two billion dollars
this year.

Speaker 18 (07:32):
FOURD is losing one hundred and thirty two thousand dollars
per ev that they sell. And how are they going
to make that up? They're making it up by raising
the cost of gasoline vehicles.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
There you go. Carson Clayton with the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
He adds Americans don't want to be forced into electric cars.
It's five oh seven Houston Rockets loss or preseason opener
one twenty two, one thirteen in Utah. Last night they
played the thunder in Oklahoma City tomorrow. I'm sureber Rye
on news Radio seven k TRH.

Speaker 19 (08:03):
Come Ala, fight, Fight, Fight.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
This is where you get.

Speaker 19 (08:07):
The very latest the presidential election.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
On news radio seven kt rh spiball waits our time.
Here in Houston's warning news, you can gamble your lottery winnings.
Way doesn't sound real smart. Mega Millions Share is making
changes starting in April.

Speaker 6 (08:27):
Okay, and they're gonna somehow keep the billionaires from winning it.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Here's no, no, nope, here's here's here's what they say
they're doing and why they're doing it, and then I'll
tell you why I think they're doing it. First of all,
they say that, oh, there's gonna be a price change.
You know that two dollars ticket five, they're taking it
to five dollars. The last time they made a change

(08:52):
was twenty seventeen when they went from one buck to
two bucks. So now it's gonna be five dollars starting
in April to buy a Mega Million's ticket. But your
odds are going to increase, yes, but from one out
of three hundred million to one out of two hundred
and sixty million, So your odds are still, you know,
roughly worse than getting hit by lightning. But the real

(09:16):
reason why they're doing all this is because they can
see what's happened with the powerball jackpots getting into the
billion dollar range. That is now what it takes to
get people's attention. People don't want to be millionaires anymore.
They want to be billionaires. I want to win a
billion dollars. Millions is not enough. I need billions. So
they're going to have higher jackpots. It'll start with a

(09:38):
higher number, it'll multiply at a faster rate. They'll get
to a billion dollars quicker. That's why they're doing it
all odds or not. They've got us.

Speaker 6 (09:47):
Hold your fire until you know you might if you
chance that miracle.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Well maybe maybe they just anticipate a Harris administration, in
which case it's going to take a billion dollars in
order to be able to feel like you're a lottery winner.
You know, five hundred million won't do anymore.

Speaker 6 (10:04):
Well, nobody wins, nobody pays taxes.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
That's true, that's true. That's the good news.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
Don't forget half of it goes back to the government.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Oh right, right from the get go five to ten,
Time for traffic and weather, Get off, Get off for
forty five? Yeah, which way.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
The outbound before conro everybody, here's the deal. We've got
a truck situation. I'm gonna I'm gonna let Andy from
Conroe tell you about it on the I'll talk to
you about it on the tip line first, and let's
do some reroutes. This is right around the Sanjacenta River Andy.

Speaker 14 (10:32):
Good morning.

Speaker 20 (10:33):
The freeway is closed northbound a river plantation.

Speaker 21 (10:36):
There's a truck fire on the theater.

Speaker 20 (10:39):
They got to.

Speaker 12 (10:40):
Close down because of the smoke coming across the freeway.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
All right.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Also, I've got word that this truck was actually going southbound,
so something happened. He got all the way across, and uh,
whatever's going on. There's nothing good at the Sanjacenta River
Bridge going northbound up to Conroe. And we've got so
little for alternate too. Forty nine to thirteen fourteen. I'm
sorry thirteen fourteen people. That's going to make things crazy,

(11:04):
but it's all we've got for now. I mean, if
you could do things via the East Text Freeway sixty
nine to get out.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
Of there or to forty nine.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Don't forget about the forgotten freeway that's outbound. They have
cleared up most of our problem on the north Loop
six ' ten. At the East Text we had that
crazy wreck where the tank thing fell off the truck yesterday.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
Did some pavement.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
They're still working on the ramp that goes northbound, let's
say from downtown over to north Line. You can get
down the middle of it, just you know, watch those
barrels there. The North Loop itself is now reopened. So
tough start to the morning.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
Skymike and the Generator Supercenter, dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Well that's done, a good start from our KTRH top
tax Defenders twenty four hour with a center. Terry Smith
is here ready to talk about Milton.

Speaker 21 (11:47):
Now.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
A category four hurricane. Is that what we're expecting come landfall?
Or could it grow back to a five? What do
you think?

Speaker 22 (11:53):
Dearing At this point, it most likely will hold on
to a categor four, possibly five.

Speaker 6 (12:02):
It's gonna hover right around there.

Speaker 22 (12:04):
It's at one fifty five right now, which is the
top end of the category four. So all it needs
to do is just strengthen a little bit more and
it'll be a five. But it's it's gonna hover around
where it is right now, likely for the next twenty
four to thirty six hours, and then it makes landfall,
likely as a category four hurricane in the Tampa area

(12:27):
around that area, so mass evacuations are underway. And they've
taken down the tolls and they've implemented left shoulder usage
for traffic to proceed with those evacuations. It looks like
the worst of it'll start to pick up tomorrow, but
tomorrow night and Thursday could be when the West coast

(12:50):
gets it, and then it's going to move across the
Peninsula as a hurricane into the Atlantic, so most of
central Florida it's going to experience hurricane can editions as
Milton makes its way across Florida late Wednesday and too Thursday.

Speaker 6 (13:06):
Our weather, it's.

Speaker 22 (13:07):
So peaceful, and it's a little less humid, that's the
nice thing. Temperatures today just slightly cooler, in the upper
eighties to low nineties. What you'll notice with the low
humidity is at night we get a chance to cool down.
So tonight upper fifties to upper sixties, so just about
everybody's in the sixties, and there'll be some places in
the fifties.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
We stay sunny and.

Speaker 22 (13:27):
Dry and warm through Saturday. Highs in the afternoon upper
eighties to low nineties through Saturday.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Temperature right now seventy one at your official severe weather station,
News Radio seven forty k TRH.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy and Sherah with the
info you need to take on the day.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I think there's almost universal agreement that FEMA has not
done a very good job in North Carolina or Georgia.
Will they do any better of a job in Tampa,
because on Friday, we're going to be talking about probably
ten to twelve feet of storm surge. Think about that.
You know, I was kind of comparing last night. I'm
sitting in my living room and you know, they're talking

(14:09):
about the storm surge going up to twelve feet, and
I'm going, Okay, I've got nine foot ceilings. I'm imagining
the water three feet above those ceilings. That's a pretty
scary proposition. So anyway, more on this story come up
by oh Biden. President Biden yesterday got asked about, you know,
about the storm response. Why do you hear what he said? Basically,

(14:30):
he said, they have everything they need. Yep, those folks
in North Carolina, they're happy. They've got everything they need.
Reaction from the folks in North Carolina to that they've
been coming up first traffic and weather together, We're checking
out the drive again, your skuy Mike, already a big problem.
I'm forty five.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Seriously, Jimmy, it's northbound. They've shut it down south to Conroad.
This is northbound at the San Jacino River Bridge Crichton Road,
if you know where, that is complete closure. All lanes, mainlanes,
feet are everything. And of course with the river there,
there's not a lot of options what this is going
to do. By the way, this wreck, nothing good's happening there.
It had a big truck caught fire. The word I

(15:07):
have was that you went across the southbound crashed and
burned in the northbound feeder roads.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
So here we are what this is going to do.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Those of you who live around Lake Conroe, Montgomery, You're
going to see all kinds of re routes through your woods.
Add those of you who live back roads, Porter cut
and shoot and all that the east part of the
Loop three thirty six. That's going to make things crazy
for you people trying to reroute that way. And I
expect more traffic, especially if I send you there. The
East Texas is going to be a lot heavier today

(15:36):
on the outbound northbound side.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
So we've got a lot to do this morning.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
We're right back with some more details at the five
thirty Skymike and the classic few at GMC traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
From our KTRH top tax defenders, twenty four hour weather
centers sunny for today, Tomorrow and Thursday eighty eight to
day ninety tomorrow ninety two Ryan Temperature on Thursday, tempature
right now seventy one. If you're official severe weather station.
News Radio seven forty k TRAH. We're checking out some
of our top stories on this Tuesday. Here's share it.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
Good morning everyone. It's now five point twenty three on
news Radio seven forty k TRH. These headlines are sponsored
by Morrow Mechanical Well. Laws were passed in Austin to
reduce our property taxes, but Harris County Democrats managed to
raise them by thirty percent over the last two years. Anyway,
we'll explain. A building that houses the Saudi consulate in

(16:25):
the Galleria was evacuated last night due to a suspicious
package that turned out to be a false alarm. Texas
General Land Office officially has taken ownership of the Alamos Cenotaph.
Commissioner Don Buckingham has promised to preserve it rather than
reimagine the landmark, as was pushed by the former Land
Commissioner George P.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Bush.

Speaker 6 (16:46):
Latest News anytime at KTRH dot com. Our next update
will be at the bottom of the hour.

Speaker 19 (16:52):
Kamala Fight, Fight Fight.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
This is where you get the very leadest the presidential
will elect you on this radio seven k t RH.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
So we start this segment with the President being asked.
You'll hear a little noise in the background, you know,
this chopper noise in the background, being asked about whether
or not the storm response versus going what storm? That
feels you full of confidence? And then we go to
Sarah Carter last night was talking to residents in North
Carolina about the FEMA response.

Speaker 23 (17:25):
What did the stage of.

Speaker 19 (17:26):
The storm zone?

Speaker 24 (17:26):
You need MChE President both, what are the station of
the storm zone?

Speaker 25 (17:30):
What do they need after what you call today?

Speaker 19 (17:34):
Oh on the storm zone?

Speaker 26 (17:35):
Yes, sir, I'm learning what storm resolving wrong?

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah, they said, and everything they need.

Speaker 20 (17:42):
We're very happy. Off the board.

Speaker 27 (17:44):
Did did you get in touch with FEMA right away?
Where is there any government officials that you've seen over
over these days since since Hurricane Helene devastated your home,
has anybody been here to help you because this is
a big question. Sewn just played a clip of President
Biden saying that you all are getting everything you need.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
What is FEMA?

Speaker 28 (18:07):
Right?

Speaker 3 (18:07):
I mean it's literally what is FEMA?

Speaker 29 (18:09):
So my daughter whose house got completely wiped out, she
has no flood insurance, meets with a FEMA person, applies
for everything she gets, doesn't get the seven hundred and
fifty that Kamala says that she's supposed to get, gets
approved of three hundred dollars for personal items.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
What is that going to do? That's literally what she got.

Speaker 29 (18:25):
Her entire first floor is wiped out, we hault, all
everything off is gone.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
So what is FEMA?

Speaker 27 (18:30):
And being a mayor so they didn't even give her
the full seven to fifty.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Didn't give her something fifty denied.

Speaker 29 (18:35):
The seventh gave her three hundred, three hundred dollars that
won't cover what's the refrigerator.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
There are areas we're still looking.

Speaker 30 (18:40):
We have urban search and rescue and cadaver dogs and
teams from Pennsylvania, New York.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
City Police and fire.

Speaker 30 (18:47):
The outpouring of individual agencies and people just coming down
and helping us. It's been wonderful citizens helping citizens, neighbors
helping neighbors is how we've gotten by. The initial response
was very slow, and I understand no one could prepare
for this.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
But on the fourth day.

Speaker 27 (19:03):
Your National Guard natural regard, so you understand what response
should be.

Speaker 16 (19:08):
Right?

Speaker 19 (19:08):
Was it what it should be?

Speaker 31 (19:09):
Well?

Speaker 30 (19:10):
The motto of North Carolina National Guard is give us
twenty four hours, will give you an army.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
I was.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
I retired from the Guard.

Speaker 30 (19:15):
As an empy first sard and did four disaster missions
to retired police chief.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
It was very slow.

Speaker 30 (19:19):
I finally contacted State Senator Warren Daniel, who has been
assisting our area. We're overlapping legislative districts.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
You get help.

Speaker 30 (19:28):
He finally contacted the National Guard, but he asked me,
what do you need? We originally had a handful of
soldiers in vanner Elk and I said, we need more
than a handful. We need military, police, doctors, nurses, medics
or purification technicians, general sold What about SEMA, FEMA and
engineers and heavy equipment. What we're doing in their instead?
And some finally did roll in. But we're just getting

(19:49):
volunteers coming in with equipment and helping people.

Speaker 27 (19:52):
So but what President Biden said is that the case.

Speaker 30 (19:55):
I'm not certainly not going to call the President United
States a liar, but I've seen no evidence that it's
fun the way he's given a glowing reclings recommendation of Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
The mayor at that point said, I will, I'll call Mallaire. No,
we don't have everything we need. Five twenty seven. It
is time to take a look at your money. Courtney Donaho,
good morning.

Speaker 6 (20:14):
Well, good morning, Jimmy.

Speaker 32 (20:15):
We're looking at a slightly higher open on Wall Street.
Dow features are up sixty points at this hour. Coming
up later this week, inflation data is do out on Thursday.
This will give investors a better idea in the Federalserve's
next steps. Meantime, earning season kicks off this Friday with
quarterly financial results from some of America's largest banks, including
JP Morgan. Yesterday, is selloff in some of the world's

(20:37):
largest tech companies dragged down stocks. The Dow drop three
hundred and ninety nine points to finish up the session.
Hurricane Milton barreling toward Florida, bearing down on a region
still struggling to recover from Helene. According to Anky Research,
Milton could cost as much as eighty billion dollars in
damages and losses. Landfall expected tomorrow, and Taylor Swift has
hit yet another career peak, becoming the rich. What's this

(21:00):
female musician in the world. According to Forbes, her net
worth is estimated at one point six billion dollars. Rihanna
is number two Courtney's on a Hope Bloomberg business. On

thirty percent or Hatscott nice should say a thirty percent
tax in Greece over the last two years. The port
strike settlement it's temporary. In coming up at five thirty eight,
Elon Musk will pay you to sign his free speech petition.

(21:52):
Details in the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First,
we're taking out our morning drive with sky Mike.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
All right, we've closed down both feeder road and the
main lanes on your in car navigation here. This is
I forty five northbound between River Plantation and Crichton Road.
It basically covers the Sandra Center River Bridge going up
into Conroad.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
It's outbound, not inbound. All lanes closed.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
If you live in anywhere Montgomery County East or the
Lake Conra area, expect your back roads to get really
crazy this morning, because I think this will be here
a while. I think there's going to be a lot
of rerouting, and realistically there's not many ways around it
other than the East Texan two forty nine.

Speaker 5 (22:26):
I'm Skymike. This is your classic Buick GMC traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
From our KTRH Generator Supercenter. Twenty four hour weathers under
plenty of sunshine today with the I temperature about eighty eight.

now seventy one. If you're official Severe weather station News
Radio seven forty k TRH, it's time Now for the news.

(22:51):
Here's Sheriff Ryer.

Speaker 6 (22:52):
Good morning. Everyone is now five thirty two on news
radio seven forty KTRH. This new sponsored by all Star Construction.
Now our top story are the local Democrats taking our money.
Harris County Commissioner's Court passed an eight percent property tax
hike last month, on top of the last two years
during which the Democrat majority raised rates by nearly thirty percent.

Speaker 33 (23:14):
Rice's Bill King is raising the alarm, warning that Euson
and Harris County, because of these high tax rates, could
turn into another Democrat led city.

Speaker 31 (23:23):
This was the path to short start it down. They
kept raising taxes, they wouldn't cut expenses, crime got out.

Speaker 19 (23:28):
Of control, and the population plummeted.

Speaker 31 (23:31):
The population of Detroit in nineteen fifty was almost two
million people today at six hundred thousand.

Speaker 33 (23:36):
Not only is Harris County raising taxes, but the city
of Houston is talking about it too.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
And Commissioner's Court will be meeting again this morning. Democrats
claiming victory after the port strike was paused into January,
but it's a signed. The left's foundation is cracking. RNC
Committee Woman debut Georgiadis as unions are seeing the Dems
don't really care about American war workers or the economy.

Speaker 34 (24:03):
They can see the Democrats don't stand up for them,
and they see Donald Trump does. You're trying to keep
the economy strong, keep America workers strong.

Speaker 20 (24:11):
Leadership of the unions have.

Speaker 34 (24:12):
Been rattled by this shift among their membership, who no
longer think the Democrat Party is their ally in politics.

Speaker 6 (24:19):
She says that pause also being used as a crutch
to buy some more time for Kamala. It is now
five point thirty three.

Speaker 28 (24:28):
Please prepare quickly and get out of the city. Tampa.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
Mayor Jane Castor, she's a Democrat. Hurricane Milton now Category
four with one hundred and fifty five mile per hour winds.
It briefly went to a Cat five overnight, now making
a bee line for the Florida Peninsula. Expected to weaken
further but still be a major hurricane, making landfall near
Tampa tomorrow. Now Milton strikes as the Biden Harris regime

(24:58):
is still not caught up to the devastation of the
entire southeast from Hurricane Helene. Louisiana, Republican Senator John Kennedy
criticizing VP Harris for not allocating more aid to recovery efforts.

Speaker 24 (25:13):
The Vice President puts out this tweet that she wants
to send one hundred and fifty seven million dollars to Lebanon.
Lebanon is run by Hesbolah.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
We're at war with.

Speaker 6 (25:26):
Hesboulah, Kennedy on Fox. More than one hundred and fifteen
thousand people in North Carolina still with no power. It's
been two weeks since Helene hit. Texas Governor Greg Abbott
directing lone Star resources to Florida ahead of the storm
there now Abbot also sending aid to the state of
Tennessee to help with recovery from Helene. States with Republican governors,

(25:48):
you might note who do accept for, ask for and
accept our help. The people of North Carolina still in
a fight to survive from the Hurricane Helene catastrophe. FEMA
still under fire for its mismanagement.

Speaker 23 (26:06):
Unfortunately, what you've had is somebody asleep at the wheel.
Nobody knows who's in charge, and I think it has
delayed the provision of necessary resources to the people of
North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
They're angry.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
The governor of North Carolina is a Democrat, Ohio Senator
of VP candidate jd Vance, calling it out, says it's
the result of FEMA resources being used primarily to take
care of illegal aliens. It's now five thirty five. Texas
Attorney General Ken Paxton he sent a letter again requesting
the federal government provide data on the illegally registered voters

(26:41):
in Texas. Paxton wants the list of names registered without
a Texas driver's license or valid ID as required in
Texas law. Texas has more than eighteen million names on
the voter rolls, an increase of almost nine percent from
twenty twenty. Political scientists Mark Jones says it doesn't mean

(27:02):
that Texas is any closer though to turning blue.

Speaker 20 (27:05):
Texas's population is growing, therefore its number of registered voters
is growing. Those registered voters, though, are more Latino and
less white. Thought the Republicans are doing better among Latinos
than they were four years ago.

Speaker 6 (27:18):
Harris County has more registered voters than any other county
in Texas. Jones does predict wins for both Donald Trump
and US Senator Ted Cruz here in November, but Cruz
says the Democrats are throwing everything they have at him,
specifically two hundred million dollars.

Speaker 35 (27:35):
They are coming after me with everything they have. Bernie
Sanders and AOC were in Texas this week. AOC said,
if we flipped Texas, we transformed the country for a generation.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Cruse with kJ Rachis Sean Hannity last night. Now, the
polling group five thirty eight dot com has Cruz leading
Colin allread here by just three points forty seven to
forty four percent. It's now five thirty seven. The jury
in the sentencing phase, a former HPD officer Gerald Goins,
resumes deliberations today. Legal analyst Joe Venus says he doesn't

(28:07):
think that Goins will be waiting long for the decision.

Speaker 25 (28:12):
I think they'll come back quickly one because their guilty
verdict was quick too, because they heard everything from the
defense last week. Today all they heard was from the state,
and they also had that extra four or five days
to make up their mind.

Speaker 19 (28:25):
So I think they're pretty much there.

Speaker 6 (28:27):
Goins convicted of murder in the deadly twenty nineteen Harding
Street raid and faces life in prison. Turney for the
fort beIN County Judge KP. George filing a motion to
quash last my last month's indictment against him now handed
down to him. George facing a misdemeanor charge of misrepresenting
the identity of a candidate. That's the official charge. During

(28:49):
his twenty twenty two re election campaign, George publicly claimed
he was the target of quote racist and xenophobic attacks,
and those were proved to be fake, allegedly engineered by
his former chief of staff terraal Patel, who was arrested
in June. I'm sherebff Fryar on news radio seven forty

Speaker 3 (29:10):
More with Jimmy Barrett and Sheriff Fryar. This is Houston's
morning News. Elon Musk is putting some money where his
mouth is. He's got a pack. He's America Packed, offering
forty seven dollars to every registered voter who refers another
to sign a petition supporting the first and second amendments.

(29:31):
The initiative, launched by Musk America Pack, seeks to gather
one million signatures from voters in key swing states including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin,
and North Carolina. Deadline to participate is October twenty first,
Elon says, it's easy money. What he's doing is perfectly legal,

(29:52):
by the way, perfectly legal. There's nothing illegal at all
about what it is that he's doing. And again he's
asking you a sign of the supporting the First and
Second Amendment. Of course, he would like you to know
that there's one candidate who supports the First and Second
Amendment while the other one does not. And he's trying
to bring this attention in these states where hopefully he
can find people who don't realize just how much is

(30:16):
up for grabs in this election. And by signing the petition,
we'll realize and turn out to vote. In order to
participate and get the money, all you have to be
is a registered voter in those states. Five forty time
for traffic and weather. Together, we're checking out the drive again,
Sky Mike, big issues for so early in the morning, Mate,
And I'll.

Speaker 21 (30:35):
Tell you what.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
We're having a real discussion off channel.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Honestly, we're talking to our basic competition here and Jump
and Joe's working with those two dinosaur parts across the street.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
He's saying, send everybody down thirteen fourteen.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
The problem is forty five north south of Conrad north
found Sandjacino River Bridge.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
That's a big truck accident.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
He's crashed and burning the feeder there, and they've shut
down both the feeder and the main lanths. Nothing goods
happening there, and I think this is going to be
there a long time.

Speaker 21 (31:03):
You know.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
Joe's like, well, why don't you send them up thirteen
fourteen because he talks like that. I'm that's gonna be
an insane asylum if you do that.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Realistically, there aren't many bridges that go across the west
fork of the Santra Center River, so Cleveland or Tombole
Montgomery probably your only real re routes if you're trying
to get out of town. I would probably just stop
and have a nice breakfast for now. Let some of
this stuff get sorted out. It's all lanes outbound Conrode.
Also our other big problem north Loop six ' ten.

(31:32):
That was a closure, that crazy thing with the tank
that fell off the truck six ' ten north at
the east tax ramps. They still have part of that
ramp under construction, but they're letting you go right down
the middle.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
This is northbound leaving downtown that.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Goes up toward I forty five the gallery furniture exit here,
so watch out. This is eastbound. All of your main
lanes are open. The ramp is partially open. It's just
going to take a little longer.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
I'm SKYLIKEE and the Generator Supercenter dot.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Com Traffic Center, Bromo rh Generator super Center, twenty four
hour Weather Center. Terry Smith joins us to talk about
our forecast is pretty simple. Is the folks in Florida.
They have a difficult forecast here for the next forty
eight hours or so.

Speaker 22 (32:10):
Yes, exactly, And of course we're talking about Hurricane Milton,
which is a Category four hurricane going through likely going
through a eyewall replacement cycle at the moment, and may
strengthen a little bit. It's going to wobble between a
category four category five.

Speaker 6 (32:30):
Here's the bottom line.

Speaker 22 (32:31):
If it's one hundred and fifty five mile an hour
sustained winds or one hundred and sixty mile an hour
sustained winds, it's not going to have that big of
a change of the impacts once it hits Florida later
tomorrow Tomorrow night and makes its way out into the
Atlantic by Thursday. So it's going to go right through
the Central part of Florida, and the main concern well,

(32:52):
already they're having issues with flooding and this is not
related to Milton.

Speaker 6 (32:57):
There's a stalled front that's been bringing them the heavy rain.
Similar set up.

Speaker 22 (33:01):
To Helene and what happened up in the Carolinas with
that stalled front and the heavy rain that preceded the
rain from Helene. This is heavy rain that's preceding the
heavy rain from Milton. So flooding is an issue. Storm
surge likely to be record levels, especially areas that are
extraordinarily shallow like Tampa Bay. And then of course the winds,

(33:21):
and this isn't just a West coast storm. This is
a central Florida storm. It's going to affect the east
coast of Florida as well. Melbourne is in the path.
Cape Canaveral's in the path. Daytona Beach is in the
path on the east side of the storm. So we're
watching it carefully to see what happens. And thankfully, our
weather is not a problem. It's a little warm, but

(33:43):
we have less humidity and that's something to celebrate. I'm
excited about less humidity. Upper eight east to low nineties
today through the rest of the week.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Good three point two million people in the Tampa Forida area,
though that certainly makes it tougher right now.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
It is five point fifty now here on Houston's Morning News.
Maybe one of the more interesting things to come out
of the White House press conference yesterday was when Peter
Doucey started questioning Cringeean Pierre about FEMA money and Kamala
Harris pledging one hundred and fifty seven million dollars to
Lebanon while not pledging money for hurricane relief, and does

(34:39):
FEMA have money or not? There's there's there's also story
going around that they're sitting on about seven billion dollars.
They've got money, they just choose not to spend it
on this things like storm.

Speaker 6 (34:50):
Pretty ear mark for all those non governmental entities that
bring in an illegal aliens and work with the cartels
these isn't that interesting.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Beyond beyond discussing anyway, More on this coming up next
five to fifty time for traffic and weather together. Skymike's

Speaker 5 (35:06):
Yeah, east text outbound issues. It's an accident at Little York.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Let's call that. Yeah, let's call it Little York. And
it's outbound again. Here a lot of banana stickers. Roger
RC Trucking, Holly Porter Nicole from Dickinson Holly, I wish
you gave me a little bitter sound quality because I'd
really like to run you. But this is outbound Little

zoom it.

Get some exact laneage at the six o'clock report. Also,
you have the North Freeway I forty five south of Conroe.
This is northbound over the Sandracenter River. All lanes are closed.
Nothing good's happening there. Big truck fire and okay, I'll
give up. I give up thirteen fourteen. If you want
to do it, do it. It's just not going to

All right, sort of the viral moment for yesterday's White
House press conference. It was Peter Doocey, you managed to
ask a question, you got green. Jean Pierre so upset
that she just ended the press conference. She gave a
passing answer and then left the room. Let's take a

(37:18):
listen to that.

Speaker 14 (37:19):
President Biden is fond of saying, show your budget and
I will tell you what you value. If he's got
money for people in Lebanon right now without commerce having
to come back, what does it say about his values?

Speaker 19 (37:31):
There's not enough money right now for North Carolina. That's
not misinformation.

Speaker 36 (37:37):
Wait, no, that is your whole your whole premise of
the question is misinformation, sir?

Speaker 19 (37:42):
What you don't Yes, yes, it's misinformation.

Speaker 28 (37:46):
I just mentioned, I just mentioned.

Speaker 36 (37:48):
I just mentioned to you that we provided more than
two hundred million dollars to folks who are impacted in
the area.

Speaker 19 (37:53):
The president's letter is not misinformation.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Would you agree?

Speaker 6 (37:56):
No, the way you're asking me the question is misinformation.

Speaker 36 (37:59):
There's money that we are allocating to the impacted areas,
and there's money there to.

Speaker 19 (38:05):
Help people who truly need it.

Speaker 36 (38:07):
There are survivors who need the funding, who need the funding,
and it's there information.

Speaker 19 (38:12):
That's what this president wants, and that's what the Vice
president wants.

Speaker 37 (38:14):
Thanks everybody, Well again, it's more lies from the White
House to cover up their priorities. One hundred and twenty
billion dollars to Ukraine and no money from Americans that
are suffering. And all you have to do is ask
people in my district that just got impacted by Hurricane Helen,
who are about to be impacted by Hurricane Milton. And
people in North Carolina, Georgia, Hey, is FEMA and the
federal government been here for you?

Speaker 19 (38:36):
And the answer is no.

Speaker 37 (38:38):
So we will be much stronger under a President Trump.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
That is represent Greg Stuby from Florida. And Milton is
bearing down on Florida. So what's the real story here,
Secretary of MAJORCUS, you said you have no more money
for hurricane relief. Do you have money for the victims
of Milton or don't you?

Speaker 6 (38:57):
You know, Secretary of MAJORCA is pretty interesting. In charge
of the Secret Service, he's in charge of the border ultimately,
and he's in charge of this. Okay, what has he
done well and why? And why did Schumer protect him
from impeachment.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
I was gonna say, we already impeached.

Speaker 6 (39:17):
Him, tried to get him out of office.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
We already impeached the House and beached him for for
the border. I mean, you had it all up.

Speaker 6 (39:25):
And immediately quashed it.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Of course, of course, it's just it's it's amazing. Who
knew that HHS, that that that secretary was that powerful.

Speaker 6 (39:37):
He's Homeland Security DHS. Yeah, well, you're right, Sarah is
AHHS right.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
But you know, I guess maybe we'll pay more attention
next time there's somebody who's nominated for, you know, the
Apartment of Homeland Security. Considering all the things.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
Second Airborne, the Rabid Response Team. They've got plenty of aircraft,
they got plenty of helicopters. Where were they? What all

Speaker 6 (41:56):
Six oh one on news Radio seven forty k t RH.
This news sponsored by All Star Construction. Now our top
story this hour. Hurricane Milton now a one hundred and
fifty five mile per hour storm Category four targeting the
west coast of Florida is actually the entire peninsula there
central Florida. Landfall expected near Tampa sometime tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
The most important thing at this point is to save lives,
and we can do that by moving to a safe
place and shelter if you are ordered to evacuate.

Speaker 6 (42:29):
That's Saint Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch Kamala Harris making this
oncoming disaster all about her, however, claiming Florida Governor Ron J.
Santas won't take her phone calls and calling him selfish.

Speaker 38 (42:42):
Desatus responded for Kamala Harris to try to say that
my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish,
is delusional.

Speaker 6 (42:54):
He also told Katie Riha Shan Hannity, it's the first
time in four years that Harris has bothered to call
him before a storm. At other words, the call was
a political stunt. Death toll from Hurricane Helene meantime remains
for now at two hundred and thirty two, still expected
to rise. However, when finally help gets into those areas,

(43:16):
more than one hundred and fifteen thousand people across North
Carolina still don't have power. The Biden Harris administration doesn't
like being called out over its lack of response to Helene,
specifically sending one hundred and fifty seven billion dollars to
Lebanon while giving Helene victims a paltry seven hundred and

(43:36):
fifty bucks a piece.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
Exactly what I just asked about, and you said it
was no information today.

Speaker 36 (43:43):
What you're asking me is why Congress needs to come
back and do their job.

Speaker 6 (43:46):
White House spokesperson Karine Jean Pierre there, she had a meltdown.
She left the briefing after that question from Fox's Peter Doocy.
It is now six 'h three. That was New York
City police clashing with anti Israel protesters in the city

(44:09):
last night on the anniversary of October seventh, the terror attacks.
There were at least six arrests. They came after Donald
Trump called out these radicals for their anti Semitism.

Speaker 7 (44:21):
We never thought we'd see it, and we certainly never
thought we'd see it in this country. And a lot
of that has to do with the leadership of this country.

Speaker 6 (44:30):
Trump hosting a remembrance of October seventh in Florida. Kamala
Harris claims to support Israel, also says she would hold
Iran accountable for the funding of the terrorist Hamas and Hesbelah.

Speaker 19 (44:43):
Which foreign country do you consider to be our greatestablishary.
I think there's an obvious one in mind, which is Iran.

Speaker 6 (44:53):
That was Harris on sixty minutes. But don't forget she
boycotted the speech to Congress by Israeli Prime Minister Jim
and Nettan Yahoo, and she helped make Iran rich with
hundreds of billions of dollars, which is what allowed them
to attack Israel. Under Trump, Iran was broke. What sounds
like a spy movie plot, the CIA has started a

(45:15):
new online recruiting campaign hoping to land spies from other countries.
Informants Max Dribbler is a retired senior intelligence officer.

Speaker 17 (45:27):
I do think it speaks to a bit of desperation
and it comes on the heels of you know, CIA
recruiting LGBTQ. Plus maybe they're so desperate that they're open
to recruiting foreign nationals.

Speaker 16 (45:39):
To do this job.

Speaker 6 (45:40):
Yeah, the CIA is trying to recruit spies from Iran, China,
and North Korea. Six oh five is our time. The
Trump advance ticket was got a bounce after the VP
debate last week, as are Republicans, who now have a
two point lead over Democrats on the generic ballot to

(46:00):
retain control of the House. That's according to Resmussen. Polsters
tell us though the presidential race is a tight in
every swing state and now those primarily Democrat governed states
say expect the counting to take longer again.

Speaker 10 (46:17):
I certainly hope that this is not like George Bush
versus al Gore, But in that particular case it ended
up taking weeks and weeks and going to the court.

Speaker 6 (46:26):
Yeah, that's the former Texas GOP chairman Steve Munistery told Kjerry.
So the only way to keep the results from being
drawn out is for one candidate to have an overwhelming
sweeping victory swamp the vote. As Donald Trump says, it
is now six oh six, the Texas abortion law stands
us Supreme Court will not hear the Biden Harris law

(46:48):
fair attempt to impose federal mandates on top of the
medical exceptions already given here in the Texas law. That
is basically an abortion ban except medical exceptions. Jim's aren't
waiting for November to reveal their plans, however, to pack
the Supreme Court because they keep getting rulings they don't like.

Speaker 39 (47:10):
Oregon Democrat Senator Ron Wyden Is introduced a bill but
would add six justices to the Supreme Court and impose
new conduct restrictions on justices. Former federal prosecutor Andrew Tcherkawski
tells Fox Democrats should be careful what they wish for.

Speaker 11 (47:24):
Imagine if they were to pass that right now, then
the Trump administration could if he gets reelected and now
have a super duper majority on the Court.

Speaker 19 (47:32):
So it really can spiral into silliness. I think this
is just a plug for votes.

Speaker 39 (47:36):
President Biden and Vice President Harris are proposing term limits
for Supreme Court justices, which would require a constitutional amendment.

we have a homeowners association where we are, and I'm
sure there's somebody named Nancy in the neighborhood who's walking
around with a clipboard looking for violations, you know, so
you can get your little little enugh from You need
to cut.

Speaker 6 (49:12):
Your grass, you got too many weeds in.

Speaker 3 (49:15):
Your flower bed, that kind of stuff. But this is serious.
What's going on in Florida right now, and not just Florida,
all around the country is a lot of senior citizens
go to condo life when they don't want to have
to do the outdoor maintenance. Anymore. You know, it's just easier.
You've got somebody else to cut the grass and to
take care of all that stuff for you, and in

(49:35):
return for whatever they give you in the way of amenities,
you pay a fee. Well, condo fees, especially in states
like Florida, have gone through the roof and they're pricing
seniors out of their own homes. For example, in Miami
Dade County, the average association fee homeowners association fee in
twenty nineteen condo feed five sixty seven a month, which

(49:57):
is pretty steep if you asked me, that is gone
to an average of nine hundred dollars a month in
twenty twenty four. That's almost doubled. In Tampa, the median
monthly HOA fee increased to six hundred and fourteen dollars
in twenty twenty four. That's a seventeen point two percent
increase from the previous year. If some of this is
being driven by new laws passed in Washington, d C.

(50:20):
Through the form of special assessments in order to get
up to code, or if you have storm damage, the
storm damage that's not covered by the insurance company for
the condo association, they have to do a special assessment
to the owners and the cost of the insurance. Yeah,
and the cost of the insurance has gone up too,
So there you go. You got all those things working
against people. So condos, for example, in Jacksonville, Florida, are

(50:44):
selling for eight percent less than they were a year
ago because of the very fact that people are having
a hard time affording them. Therefore they're selling them, and
people are going in and saying how much of the
association fees? I don't think so. Six ' ten. Time
for traffic and weather together. Check out they're driving in here.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
Mike, all right, I've got a tip line number coming
up for you shortly if you've never called before, and
a quick.

Speaker 5 (51:05):
Request in Jimmy, it's not stairway to Heaven.

Speaker 4 (51:07):
We've got forty five north closed over the Sandracino River
the West Fork. I am near Conroe right outbound. That's
all lanes blocked here. A lot of discussion. Is there
any guind of alternate?

Speaker 3 (51:18):
Not much.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
You could take two forty two to thirteen fourteen. I
hate to do that to the people in Porter. Another
shot I've got here is fourteen eighty eight toward Magnolia.

Speaker 5 (51:29):
You could go down, honey, Egypt Road.

Speaker 4 (51:31):
If you're driving down something called Fish Creek Thoroughfare, you
know you're going to the woods.

Speaker 5 (51:36):
But that's that's a way around it.

Speaker 4 (51:38):
I mean, realistically, Tomball, Cleveland are your best ways around that?
This problem is going to be there while it's all
lanes closed shut down forty five northbound south of Conroe.

Speaker 5 (51:48):
I got Larry Sugarland dude.

Speaker 29 (51:50):
Good morning, sky Mike north found on sixty nine before
Chimney Rock.

Speaker 14 (51:55):
We got six lanes of stop it.

Speaker 4 (51:58):
Oh that's right, there's a wreck there that's just now cleared.
We're still packed up from Hellcroft. Katie's looking good. Looks
like a great alternate there twenty eight minutes from Graham
Parkway Andrew most City dude.

Speaker 21 (52:08):
Basically on the forty five north that is down one way?

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Do you mean the east text because we had that
deal with the tanker yesterday.

Speaker 5 (52:17):
They did have to pair that down. But all your
ramps are reopen.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
Quick request here guys, if y'all can work on ditching
the speaker phones because I'm having trouble hearing a lot
of you seven one three two one two tips. I'm
skylike and the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic center.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
From our KTRH top tax Defenders twenty four hour with
this center, time to check in with Terry Smith. You know,
as we look at category four Hurricane Milton bearing down
in Florida, I'm thinking, you know, there's nothing good about
any of that. But the storm surge in particular is
problematic for a place like Tampa, Florida. If you're talking
about twelve foot storm surge, you're talking about a lot
of stuff underwater, aren't you You sure are?

Speaker 22 (52:54):
I mean, if you think that the average first floor
of most homes is somewhere between ten to twelve feet,
you're talking at least the first floor being completely inundated.
And here's the thing that you have to think about,
and this is part of the reason that storm search

(53:16):
is hard to understand, is because we don't ever experience it, fortunately,
But what you essentially have is a rush of water
that moves into your first floor and continues to push
against the house, and then you have waves on top
of that. So it does impact the foundation or the
stead fatness of the house or the building or wherever

(53:36):
it works on that it loosens it up, it compromises
the structure. So even if you're like on the second
floor and you're dry. It doesn't mean that first floor
is going to hang around very long.

Speaker 6 (53:49):
And I was just looking.

Speaker 22 (53:50):
We've been looking at some of the records, and this
is the thing that's frankly alarming. The storm searche that
is predicted. This range of ten to fifteen feet is
record levels. It's higher than Helene was in areas like
Clearwater Beach, where their previous record was six point six

(54:13):
feet of water, so we're talking almost double that. So
I'm glad to see there's so many people who are evacuating.
I know personally firsthand there are people who are thinking
about staying, and I just hope those people have good
insurance policies.

Speaker 6 (54:32):
You know, I have to wonder. Forty trillion gallons of
rain got dumped with Helene, and this storm is picking
up moisture as its coming. It's not just the winds
in the surge. It's got a lot of rain in
it well. And it's a very similar situation to Helene
in that.

Speaker 22 (54:50):
For several days prior to the arrival of the hurricane,
Florida has been experiencing almost widespread daily rain and having rain.
So there's been you know, they have already laid the
foundation for a very soggy peninsula before you get the

(55:11):
tropical rains, which could amount to easily four to twelve
inches of rain across the peninsula on top of what's
already fallen the last several days.

Speaker 6 (55:22):
So there are multiple problems at play.

Speaker 22 (55:26):
Almost and I hate to downplay the winds, but the
winds are actually, to me personally, the least concerning. The
winds are going to knock down the trees and the
power lines. That's not as life threatening as the flooding
and the surge the trees and power while the power
lines can be repaired eventually, But the flooding and the surge,

(55:47):
the damage that does.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
Yeah, that's a nice around here. A better story.

Speaker 6 (55:50):
Yes, completely dry all week long.

Speaker 22 (55:53):
It is warm, but less humid our temperatures in the
upper eighties for the most part, but there'll be some
places in the low nineties this week.

Speaker 3 (56:19):
So what are the chances the morning after the November
fifth election that we're going to know the results? Slim?
Let me, let me get slim and none and Slim
just left town. We're gonna talk to Steve Mon's story
about this. Here's the angle I want to talk to
him a little bit about, because you know, the longer

(56:40):
you delay results, the more the conspiracy theories kick in,
the more the election has been stolen, claims kick in
for fraud and that too. Yeah, all of those things.
So that this strikes me is that an election where
the morning after, regardless of who the winner is or
the leader is at that time, there will be questions
about those results. We'll talk to him next. First, we've

(57:02):
got traffic and weather together here from the stretch. Go ahead, skoy, Mike.

Speaker 4 (57:05):

Speaker 3 (58:26):
You're reliable forecast. Next on the ten on seven forty KTRH,
Steve mos Terry joins as former Texas GOP chairman and Steve,
you know, the longer you have to wait for the results,
the more you start to internally question the results that
you're getting. So what do you think is going to
happen the morning after the election?

Speaker 10 (58:47):
Well, if any race is any state has a race
that's close, you have to remember that overseas and military
ballots are counted after the election day so long as
their postmark before the election day, and each state has
different rules at about that. But in Texas, for example,

(59:07):
overseas and military ballots are counted up.

Speaker 19 (59:10):
To six days.

Speaker 10 (59:11):
But if there's a holiday, and this year there is,
military ballots that are coming in Texas can be counted
up to one week after the election day, and regular
mail in ballots can be counted up until the next
day until five pm, So all the votes won't even

(59:31):
be in theoretically for a week. So if you have
a close election, one like we had Michigan with the
ten thousand, I think it wasn't sixteen eleven thousand in
Georgia last time. It could certainly be a week, and
then you have situations like Bush versus Gore that want
weeks in weeks.

Speaker 6 (59:52):
Yeah, and I was reading about this. We call them
military ballots, and we all want our military to be
able to vote. But that's just a small percentage of
what the foreigners abroad that living in foreign countries abroad Americans,
and some of them have never even lived in America,
but they have American citizenship and they are able. And
the Democrats are doing a program now, they're trying to

(01:00:13):
get nine million of these votes.

Speaker 10 (01:00:17):
Well, and the Republican Party in the past, but I'm
not sure they have a program now. But when I
was on the RNC, there was actually Republicans abroad and
it was a regular group that met and organized, and
you know, we very it was legal, but we try
to harvest all those votes. And I would presume that

(01:00:38):
the Democrats are doing the same. So if for anybody
that worries about mail in ballots, I'm one that always
worries about mail in ballots in a close election, those
ballots could be the difference if you have a razor
thin margin, and if you look at the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania,
and Wisconsin right now, and even North Carolina. Those are

(01:01:02):
all races that look like they're on the razor's edge.

Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
Yeah they are. It's gonna be interesting, to say the least. Steve.
Thank you, Steve nis Teri, former Texas GOP chairman. Six

your money. Hortney Donaho is here.

Speaker 6 (01:01:14):

Sheriff Ryer.

Speaker 6 (01:03:57):
Good Morning is six thirty two on news radio and
forty KTRH in our top story this hour. If you
crunch numbers, Harris County Democrats have managed to raise our
property taxes by about thirty percent over the last two years.
And you combine that with the city of Houston now
raising taxes. Possibly, political analysts Bill King things, we're this

(01:04:18):
city of Houston could become another Detroit.

Speaker 31 (01:04:22):
That's the kind of decline you'll see if we don't
start creating a value proposition for living in the county
and the city. And right now we're clearly not doing that.

Speaker 6 (01:04:31):
Yeah, the motor city, because of its high taxes and
its crime, saw its population drop from two million people
in nineteen fifty to six hundred thousand today. Well after
being backed by Democrats, the port strike seems to have
come to a temporary end quickly.

Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
Biden claimed victory. But there's deep dynamics at play.

Speaker 34 (01:04:53):
The Democrat Party has become pro globalists. They support globalism
more than they support the American economy. American worker and
unions are starting to perceive this.

Speaker 40 (01:05:03):
W George Otis of America Can We Talk says they're
seeing how little the Democrats help the economy. They're also
noticing the Republican logic.

Speaker 34 (01:05:11):
So it's a bigger sense I think of Donald Trump
and the Republican Party are now on the side of
the American people, the American worker.

Speaker 40 (01:05:18):
Many unions this cycle of not endorsed a candidate, including
the team Stirs. Andre Perard, News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (01:05:26):
It's now six thirty four.

hundred and fifty five mile per our winds has a
Florida Peninsula in its site. Now the system expected to
weaken a little bit more, but it will still be
a major hurricane when it hits the central Peninsula tomorrow.
Texas Governor Greg Abbett sending resources from Texas to Florida

(01:05:55):
ahead of this storm, on top of the eight already
in Tennessee assisting in the recovery effort. It's there from
Helene Milton striking, of course, as a federal FEMA response
remains lacking to those Helene victims, specifically in North Carolina.
Is bringing the haye to Kamala Harris.

Speaker 41 (01:06:13):
Vice President Kamala Harris pledged to send more than one
hundred and fifty million dollars of additional assistance to Lebanon,
an hour before she pledged one hundred million dollars.

Speaker 6 (01:06:23):
In aid to North Carolina.

Speaker 41 (01:06:25):
This as North Carolina residents are pleading for more assistants
from the government to help them recover from Hurricane Helene.
The FEMA administrator confirming to Fox News that the agency
does not have enough funds to last beyond immediate needs.

Speaker 6 (01:06:40):
Brookes Sengmann, reporting, there, So, what does that call from
your familiar senator in Congress? The one from Louisiana.

Speaker 24 (01:06:52):
Helene was a monster storm. We saw it coming. The
federal government had time to prepare. It wasn't prepared. We
don't have nearly enough soldiers and military helicopters rescuing people.

Speaker 6 (01:07:08):
Yep, Louisiana Senator John Kennedy. The death toll officially remains
at two hundred and thirty two, expected though to go
up in the coming days. They're still recovering bodies. It
is now six thirty six. Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas,
he sends another letter asking for information on the illegally
registered voters in Texas. He wants the list of names

(01:07:29):
who were registered without a Texas driver's license or valid ID.
With twenty seven days to go to election day, Texas
has already surpassed eighteen million registered voters, and the left
believes this is going to reshape the election.

Speaker 15 (01:07:46):
Shara Mark Jones, Professor of political science at RICE, does
not agree.

Speaker 20 (01:07:52):
We get these stories about every two to four years.
The reality is the Texas population is boomy.

Speaker 15 (01:07:58):
Growing even faster than Florida, but not changing blue.

Speaker 20 (01:08:03):
The reality is, I think we're looking at another election
where Donald Trump wins by somewhere between five and seven
points and Ted Cruz fire round two to four points.

Speaker 15 (01:08:13):
Republicans have not lost a statewide race in thirty years.

his own identity. During his twenty twenty two re election campaign,

Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
This is the summertime Michigan song and story as it
turns out I thought i'd share because I have a
theory on this, and maybe I'm showing just how cynical
I've become by sharing this. But the Attorney General of
the Michigan Attorney General, her name is Dana Nessel, prosecuting
four people, charging them with a felony for voting twice,

(01:10:16):
once with a mail in ballot and once in person.
This happened in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, which is a
upscale suburb of Detroit, more Republican than Democrat. So I
have some suspicions she's a staunch Democrat, Dana Nessel is.
So here's what she had to say about the charges.

Speaker 28 (01:10:38):
In phrase twenty four in.

Speaker 43 (01:10:39):
The August primary election in Michigan for Saint Clair Shor's
residents voted twice. So he's a crime, and my office
is prosecuting the four voters and three municipal election employees
for crimes related to double voting.

Speaker 28 (01:10:59):
One person, one vote.

Speaker 43 (01:11:01):
It's a simple but highly important American value we've all
known since we were children. When people violate this principle,
they violate state law and undermine the most basic tenets
of our American democracy. But four individuals in Saint Clair
Shores did just that. They voted twice, once by absentee

(01:11:22):
ballot and once again on election day at their local
polling places. Here in Michigan, we have significant barriers in
place to keep this from happening. But on August sixth,
twenty twenty four, those vital protections failed because three election
workers violated the law by ignoring systemic warnings and knowingly

(01:11:44):
willfully allowing double voting to occur.

Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
By the way, the mayor Saint Clair Shores themselves said
he didn't want them charged because he thought it was
purely accidental. I don't know if that's the case or not.
But here's what I do know, or what I suspect.
I know that the reason why the people were prosecuted
so that the Attorney General of Michikin, who is very progressive,
could come across as running a fair election. See oh see,

(01:12:10):
chiefs prosecuted people who tried to vote twice. We don't
have to worry about what happens in November. So that
makes a great smoke screen for that. I also suspect
that these are people voting in the Republican primary. Nowhere
in any of the stores have found. Do they identify
which primary August sixth primary these voters were voting, and
were they voting in the Democrat primary? Were they voting

(01:12:31):
in the Republican primary? That's not identified. So if you
prosecuted a couple of Republicans for cheating and then you,
you know, come across as being willing to prosecute, then
that kind of takes suspicions away. If you come out
in November, say yep, everything was on the up and
up and everything was fine. Nothing to see here, That's

(01:12:51):
what I suspect. Time for traffic and whether together, let's
get the latest on the drive. Here'sky Mike. I got
a lot of.

Speaker 5 (01:12:58):
People to thank this morning. Jimmy, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 4 (01:13:00):
We were the first to know about the east text
problem that cleared Parker Road, stay the course, forget it. Also,
well we had the details in the laneage on the

This is a truck fire wreck and nothing good's happening.
The whole thing, mainlanes, feeder, guts, feathers and all. It's

(01:13:21):
all closed. So people are saying, well, why don't you
jump off for the thirteen fourteen thirteen fourteen? Thank you,
Chris from Conrod, thirteen fourteen's pretty disastrous right now. One
little secret hack might be fourteen eighty eight go the
other way, go west to fourteen eighty eight, Hony Egypt Road.
You're still going through the woods, and realistically, I mean
Cleveland and Tombar are your best alternates.

Speaker 5 (01:13:42):

You turned down the calls from both Biden and Harris.
Are you saying you're not aware of that? And if so,
how are you not aware of that?

Speaker 13 (01:18:36):
So Biden called me a couple of days ago with

Speaker 19 (01:18:41):
I didn't have any issues. They had helped us for
what we've done.

Speaker 13 (01:18:44):
I'm not aware that he's tried to call since then,

But the continued existence of the High Court is on

and the White House, they plan to pack the court
and institute term limits on justices. Basically, they'd be subjugating
the court to political control. Former Federal Prosecutor Though Andrew

Speaker 11 (01:26:00):
Constitution demand the Supreme Court justices have a term for life.
So that's an initial hurdle to this idea, but it

an in flight entertainment system, you know that basically you

(01:30:12):
get to pick TV shows and movies and different things
that do you want to watch for your little individual screen.
Well that wasn't working, and they had a handful of
movies that the crew could pick from to show to
so at least there'd be something going on because it's
a long flight. And you're trying to keep people distracted
a little bit. So they went around they asked the passengers,

(01:30:33):
hear the movies that we can pick from which one
would you vote for? And evidently, by a majority vote,
they decided. I don't know why the majority picked this,
but they picked a movie called Daddy O Daddyo. It
was made in twenty twenty four, starring Dakota Johnson and
Sean Penn. Straight to video kind of movie, I guess.
And so they put the movie on and they started

suspicious of the whole strike in general? There's some people
who think that maybe this whole thing was a setup

(01:37:12):
so that the Biden Harris administration could quickly solve it
and look good.

Speaker 34 (01:37:18):
I think a lot of people are thinking that. I
also think they'll probably try to claim that, But there
are a lot of deeper dynamics going on. I mean,
the unions normally support Democrats, and Democrats support unions, but
the very things are changing in this world, and in
particular the union world that used to always support the
Democrat Party isn't doing that so much anymore. Teamsters Teamsters

(01:37:42):
recently voted and members voted sixty to thirty eight that
they prefer Trump over over Harris. So I think the
battle going on right now between the Union and the
and America really is. I think the union people figured
out this is not going to play well if we
strike during an election season, going to hurt people, and
they didn't want to be unstrike. I think the economy

(01:38:04):
is really bad, and they already recognized people the American
people would turn against the unions if they really mess
up our supply chain. So I think they decided it
was a bad time to strike. But I also think
they think Republicans are friendlier to unions than they used
to be friendlier to the American people.

Speaker 6 (01:38:21):
The American workers, not so much the union leadership. You know,
the minute all those stories started getting thrown out there
about the head of the union and his salary and
how he lives and what he drives, all of a
sudden that it took a different narrative, didn't it, Oh
it did?

Speaker 21 (01:38:41):
They lived?

Speaker 34 (01:38:42):
You know, the union leaders with Bentley's and yachts. It's
always offensive. But you know, I'm trying to say why
I have this plays in the politics. Is Donald Trump
has managed, in the time he's been prominent in the
political world to convey a message to American families, American workers,
we either Republicans, we care about the people, we care
about keeping jobs in America.

Speaker 5 (01:39:04):
We care about.

Speaker 34 (01:39:05):
Families being able to put food in the table, and
the Democrats have made a very leftist, globalist turn. The
whole party is more concerned about globalism and less concerned
about America and Americans, and I think that is really
resonating within union membership in this country. I do think
the Democrats will try to claim this is a big
victory for them, but I think the long term dynamic

(01:39:27):
favors unions began to realize it's Republicans who want to
keep their jobs safe and keep the American economy safe.

Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
Well, that became very evident with the Teamsters, as you said,
because they pulled the Teamsters membership and it was over
sixty percent in favor of Donald Trump.

Speaker 34 (01:39:41):
Isn't that just staggering? And you know, they did three
different polls. I think they were trying to figure out
maybe that was an anomaly. But yeah, I think you know,
hard working Americans, whether a union member or not, you
can see what the Democrat Party is doing to America.
They are globalist minded, They're fine with jobs going over
and American workers want the jobs here. They like the

(01:40:03):
message of Donald Trump and today's Republican Party we believe
in the American economy, the American worker keeping jobs here,
and will adjust our policies, our trade deals to make
that happen. That's a great message to working people and
union members, and I think it really is resonating.

Speaker 6 (01:40:20):
Well, it's not just some members, it's a group that's
negotiating the contracts and holding the contracts. Are multinational and
they're globalists, and you know, we're going to get to
revisit it again January fifteenth.

Speaker 19 (01:40:32):
We are.

Speaker 34 (01:40:32):
They put off resolving the automation issue, and they settled wages,
which was a big piece, But in the automation parts.
You know, on the one hand, unions already have a
lot of automation in their ports. They're not physically lifting
these massive crates off of these carriers and physically carrying
them onto the docks.

Speaker 19 (01:40:52):
There already using automation.

Speaker 34 (01:40:54):
But I think there's a concern and I think it's
justified if you could automate so much of what worked
due And again, if you're a union person, you're saying, who,
which party here is going to care that there aren't
jobs in America? Which party is going to help us
get either push more American made products make the automation
products in America, so jobs go there. They want to

(01:41:17):
hear from the parties. I care about the American worker,
and the Democratists are not conveying that anymore. Put me,
the automation issue will come up in January fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
I think it is all right, Debbie. Thanks for joining
US political analyst Debbie. George Gatis joining us at seven
twenty seventy. This time to take a look at your money.

I'm Jimmy Barrett along with Sheriff Fryer. Among our top
stories this f hour, average Harris County homeowner has had
a thirty percent tax increase over the last two years.
The port strike settlement, it's temporary and coming up at
seven thirty eight. Five things that frugal people never buy.
Details in the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First,

we're checking out that drive again. Here's a very busy

(01:43:39):
Sheriff Pryer.

Speaker 6 (01:43:39):
Good morning, everyone, is seven thirty two on news Radio
seven forty KTRH. Our top story, this is our local
democrats taking our money. Harris County Commissioner's Court. Yeah, they
went ahead and passed at eight percent property tax HI
last month. The Democrats who control everything, on top of
the last two years during which again the Democrat majority

(01:44:00):
raised rates by nearly thirty percent.

Speaker 33 (01:44:03):
Rice's Bill King is raising the alarm warning that Euson
and Harris County, because of these high tax rates, could
turn into another Democrat led city.

Speaker 31 (01:44:11):
This was the path to short started down. They kept
raising taxes, they wouldn't cut expenses, crime got out.

Speaker 19 (01:44:17):
Of control, and the population plummeted.

Speaker 31 (01:44:19):
The population of Detroit in nineteen fifty was almost two
million people today at six hundred thousand.

Speaker 33 (01:44:25):
Not only is Harris County raising taxes, but the city
of Houston is talking about it too.

Speaker 19 (01:44:29):
Cliff Saunders News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (01:44:33):
And Commissioner's Court meeting again this morning. Democrats claimed victory
after the port strike was paused into January, sign of
the less foundation cracking. However, according to RNC Committee Woman
Debbie Georgiatis, she says unions are seeing that the Democrats
do not care about the working class American workers or
main street economies.

Speaker 34 (01:44:55):
They can see the Democrats don't stand up for them,
and they see Donald Trump, You're trying to keep the
economy strong, keep America workers strong. Leadership of the unions
have been rattled by this shift among their membership who
no longer think the Democrat Party is their ally and politics.

Speaker 6 (01:45:11):
And she told us this pause is the crutch for Kamala.
It's now seven thirty four.

Speaker 28 (01:45:19):
Please prepare quickly and get out of the city.

Speaker 6 (01:45:25):
Tampa Mayor Jane Costeor Hurricane Milton Category four one hundred
forty mile one hundred forty five mile per hour winds,
making a bee line for the Florida Peninsula, expected to
weaken further but still be a major hurricane, making landfall
near Tampa tomorrow. Milton strikes even as the Biden Harris
regime hasn't caught up to the devastation of the entire

(01:45:48):
southeast from Hurricane Helene. Louisiana Republican Senator John Kennedy criticizes
Harris for not allocating more aid to the recovery efforts
here in America.

Speaker 7 (01:46:01):
North Carolina is a disaster and it was also hit
very hard. But they don't have the people and they're
complaining there's no people around to help.

Speaker 19 (01:46:09):
That was a horrific storm.

Speaker 6 (01:46:12):
Oops. That obviously was not the Louisiana Senator John Kennedy,
he did that. That was Donald Trump with Fox's Laura Ingram.
More than one hundred and fifteen thousand people in North
Carolina don't have powers still, it's been two weeks almost
now since Helene hit. Texas Governor Greg Abbott is directing
Lone Star resources to Florida ahead of the storm. Milton,

(01:46:36):
Abbot sending aid to the state of Tennessee too, helping
with the recovery from Hurricane Helene. There states with Republican
governors who ask for and accept our help. People in
North Carolina they're still in a fight just to survive,
to recover from the catastrophe. FEMA under fire still for mismanagement.

Speaker 23 (01:46:57):
Unfortunately, what you've had is somebody asleep of wheel. Nobody
knows who's in charge, and I think it has delayed
the provision of necessary resources to the people of North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (01:47:07):
They're angry.

Speaker 6 (01:47:09):
Ohio Senator VP candidate jd Vance there. He says it's
the result of FEMA being used, it's resources being diverted
to care for illegal aliens among us. Seven thirty six
is our time. Our Attorney General Ken Paxson sending a
letter again requesting that the FEDS provide data on the

(01:47:30):
illegally registered voters in Texas. He wants the list of
names that were registered without providing Texas driver's license or
a valid ID. Got more than eighteen million names in
our voter roles here, an increase of almost nine percent
over twenty twenty. Political scientists at Rice University Mark Jones

(01:47:50):
says it doesn't mean Texas is any closer though, to
turning blue.

Speaker 20 (01:47:54):
Texas's population is growing, therefore its number of registered voters
is growing. Those registered voters, though, are more Latino and
less white. Thought the Republicans are doing better among Latinos
than they were four years ago.

Speaker 6 (01:48:08):
Harris County more registered voters, we don't know whether they're
legal or not than any other county in Texas. Jones
predicts wins for both Donald Trump and US Senator Ted
Cruz here in this state. But Cruse says Democrats have
thrown everything they have Adham specifically what two hundred million
dollars can buy.

Speaker 35 (01:48:28):
They are coming after me with everything they have. Bernie
Sanders and AOC were in Texas this week. AOC said,
if we flipped Texas, we transformed the country for a generation.

Speaker 42 (01:49:06):

this speed of Houston right now. Suston's Morning News continues
with Jimmy Barrett and Sheriff Fryar.

Speaker 3 (01:49:21):
Here's the question to start with this, Sheriff Fryar, let
you get your thoughts. What is the difference between being
cheap and being frugal? Yeah, that's a fun one, isn't it.

Speaker 6 (01:49:34):
My mother's My mother's way of referring to herself was
I'm Scotch. I said, no, mother, that's a drink. You're Scottish.
I'm Scotch.

Speaker 3 (01:49:45):
Boy. She really played it.

Speaker 28 (01:49:46):
She was tight.

Speaker 3 (01:49:47):
She played into that stereotype, didn't she. Oh boy about
the Scotsman being tight, tight with the butt. I think
the difference between personally, the difference between cheap and frugal
is it's just a matter of perspective, right when when
cheap is often seen as a negative, you know, you're
you're a type one.

Speaker 6 (01:50:05):
You won't you're going for the bottom line rather than
the value, right.

Speaker 3 (01:50:08):
Well, frugal is more of a your wise with your
money sort of phrase. Right, you value your money exactly
to me, that's the difference. Here are five necessities. We're
told that frugal people do not buy number one on
the list of new cell phone. If you are the
kind of person who gets the latest technology when it

(01:50:29):
comes out.

Speaker 6 (01:50:29):
If it were.

Speaker 3 (01:50:31):
I only, I only get new technology when I are
new cell phone, when the other ones, you know, at
the point where it it just has to be replaced,
I'll do it. Then I'll get the latest and greatest
at that point. But I'll wait until that point.

Speaker 6 (01:50:45):
Or they stopped doing updates for you right in order
to force you to buy a new one.

Speaker 3 (01:50:49):
Yeah. Single use bottled water is something else that frugal
people don't buy. If they're going to buy bottled water,
they'll buy by the you know, by the multi gallon jug,
versus buying it in in single use work lunch. They
don't go out to eat for work. In other words,
if your work and your co workers go out gaba
bye the hamburger stand or the cafeteria or wherever, they don't.

(01:51:13):
They bring a brown bag from home. They pack their lunch.
They don't buy their lunch. They don't have an Amazon
Prime membership. They might buy things from Amazon, but they're
not going to spend the money on the Prime on
a Prime in order to get free delivery. And the
last one that made the list was supplements. This is interesting.

(01:51:35):
Nearly seventy five percent of American adults take some sort
of a dietary supplement or vitamin or what have you
on a daily basis. A bottle of supplements can cost
anywhere from a few dollars to over one hundred bucks.
If that money is a meaningful investment to your health,
it's not something to cut from your budget. But the
scientific evidence of supplement benefits is unclear. In other words,

(01:51:55):
if you see that vitamin is something that is expensive
in your not sure.

Speaker 6 (01:52:00):
For a special concoction brought to you only, and you
have to watch this video and be sure you sign
up right now and you can save even more money
if you buy six you set.

Speaker 3 (01:52:09):
Is three or signed for a one year subscription round.

Speaker 6 (01:52:12):
Yeah, I fall for that stuff. It's not frugal at all.

Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
I was gonna say frugal people don't seven forty one
time for traffic and whether.

Speaker 4 (01:52:19):
It's like had divorces to that list it's not good
financial planning to get divorces frugal cs.

Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
Frugal people oftentimes are shocked by their divorce settlements, are
they not?

Speaker 4 (01:52:29):
Yeah, I won the last one though. All right, let's go, Sarah.
I need a glass of Scottish. By the way, this
is two ninety. We are two ninetyed up now. It's
an accident. Everybody's okay at the Beltway and we're packed
up all the way from Cypress Rose Hill or Cypress
North Houston on the inbound. So that's about a twenty
five minute spackle in. You know what, jump over to

(01:52:50):
two forty nine if you can. I'm going to Reroute
forty five. Hang on, you still have the problem on
it in East Mercury, the East Freeway. That's two right
lines packed up from Normandy two eighty eight. Clear that
wreck at the belt Way, stopping and going now from
McCart northbound forty five north outbound frontage at west Road.
Nothing's good happening there. All the lanes are blocks southbound.

(01:53:10):
They cleared the stall at the belt and the inbound
wreck that's there, but we're all spackled up from air techs.

Speaker 5 (01:53:16):
I've got forty five.

Speaker 4 (01:53:17):
North We've had a lot of discussion on how to
get around all that suckage, because whatever's going on at
forty five with the truck, nothing's good. It's going into
Conrod from the Sanjracino River Bridge. The whole thing is
shut down.

Speaker 26 (01:53:29):
Jim from Kingwood, Guy, Mike, Jim from Kingwood to get
around the forty five Miss thirteen fourteen is no longer
a good alternate. It is packed up approximately a mile
and a half.

Speaker 21 (01:53:42):

Speaker 5 (01:53:42):
I don't want to say I told you so, but
I knew that was not good. Old Houston Road.

Mango from Willis gave me that Old Houston Road to

we'll have more reroutes becuse this will be around a while.

you're going to notice today. In the next couple of days,
just a little less humidity and a little bit cooler

Speaker 3 (01:56:27):
We'll ask you about that in the second, Will, But
why I get your thoughts here on what's been going
on the kind of the war of the words right
now between FEMA, the director of FEMA, Governor Ron de
Santis in Florida, you know, the Biden Harris administration saying
they he won't accept their phone calls. Get a little
battle royale going on over what's been happening with hurricane

(01:56:48):
relief with Helena And I'm sure after tomorrow anyway, what's
happening with hurricane relief with Milton.

Speaker 19 (01:56:55):
Yeah, good morning, Jimmy, Good morning Sarah.

Speaker 46 (01:56:57):
That's gonna be a double punch that I'm Americans that
North Carolinians, Georgians, Floridans, Florindians just don't need when it
comes to these hurricanes. The little battle royale you're talking about,
you know, it's a shame. It is a shame because
Americans need help in these moments.

Speaker 19 (01:57:15):
A year ago, you know, I grew up. It sounds
like I'm about to do a Kamala Harris answer, doesn't it.
I grew up in a middle class family. I grew up.
I grew up in the small town north of Dallas.

Speaker 46 (01:57:28):
But in the summers, I was fortunate enough with my
dad and started doing this in nineteen seventies, started going
to Hawaii and we went to Lehina, Maui, and I
grew up around that community. So you'll remember, I think
most people listening in will that that town eighty percent
of it burned down last summer.

Speaker 19 (01:57:45):
Just it was a really, really sad story.

Speaker 46 (01:57:47):
And I got to see, honestly in the way that
lot of people from Houston probably seen and experienced natural disasters.
I mean, you guys have seen hurricanes down there, and
I got to see firsthand, first of all, the devastating
off of these things. But secondarily, it is beyond inspirational
to see the way Americans treat one another. And I

(01:58:07):
truly do think, while it's also human nature, it's uniquely
and profoundly American neighbors jumping into the breach to help
neighbors putting out fires in North Carolina run helicopters.

Speaker 19 (01:58:19):
So what I'm getting at is, you know, I do
agree Jimmy.

Speaker 46 (01:58:22):
It's first of all, we need to be able to
criticize the response of government bureaucracy without being accused of disinformation.

Speaker 19 (01:58:28):
We just need to be able to.

Speaker 46 (01:58:29):
We also have to be responsible enough to tell the
truth about what's happening, both critically and positively. And my
biggest thing when you see this, having been there on
the ground, when you see this stuff, you need to
look at the awesome and inspirational nature of your neighbor,
your fellow American.

Speaker 6 (01:58:47):
Well, we've provided it, We saw it. We did it
firsthand here in Houston for Katrina victims. But we ran
into bureaucracies that we're trying to shut down. You know,
forty thousand volunteers that were already ORG and Eyes through
the Houston Live CEC show and rodeo, and we had
to wait on approval from bureaucracies in order to be
able to step in and give these people help. I mean,

(01:59:09):
it was crazy.

Speaker 46 (01:59:10):
It's a great That is such a great point, and
I appreciate you reminded me of that because from a
huge community perspective, I don't know that you could ever
point to anyone more than Houston.

Speaker 19 (01:59:19):
You took in almost an entire town. And look, yeah,
when I say that, it's not me trying to be
you know, come by, y'all, let's all look for the positive.
There is definitely problems. Look, femis slow to react.

Speaker 46 (01:59:31):
Their first instant, in their first instinct is to clamp
down and exert a bureaucratic power. I saw it in Hawai.
We're seeing it in North Carolina. Sadly, we may see
it in Florida soon. So therefore you're going to see them.
They requisition goods, and sometimes it's with good intentions. The
requisitioning of goods is to ensure, oh, not too much
is over here at point A when some of it

(01:59:52):
needs to be at point B. But it gets in
the way of getting things done. Often when the first
instinct needs to be you know, there's a congressman from
Florida and Corey Mills.

Speaker 19 (02:00:01):
I mean, just jump into the.

Speaker 46 (02:00:02):
Frame and start swinging your start swinging your fist, and
I mean that metaphorically, of course, and getting stuff done,
getting action done.

Speaker 19 (02:00:09):
