Speaker 1 (00:00):
He's head was cruising last night, that's for sure. Seven
(00:02):
twenty two start time here in Houston's Morning News. You know,
doctor Robin Armstrong, first of all, thanks for joining us
and gett up this morning. Always appreciate it. But the
thing always is thank you, you bet. The thing is always
strikes me about Tedy Cruz. Everybody knows what a great
debater he is, so I guess you have to give
Callin Allred a little bit of credit for even going
in there against him, don't you.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Uh you know, I'll tell you. I think cal Red
gets no credit at all for running in this race.
I mean, he is such a radical leftist, just like Kamala,
just like Joe. And I think Cruse was fantastic at
pointing that out. He used his own record, and I
think it's really he used Colin Alred's own record to
actually run against Colin alright, and just performing master class
(00:44):
in this debate last night. I thought it was fantastic.
Colin was so upset, he even was getting angry. It seemed.
I was thinking, oh, lord, crew's better be careful. This
guy is pretty big, you know. I'm thinking you better
hurry and get out of there. Pretty quick. But I
think that Cruz was just a master class and how
you use some one's own record against them in a debate,
and how you just point that out how radical he is.
(01:06):
And I think he did a fantastic job. I was
so excited about the debate performance.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Do you think it changed anything? You think Democrats maybe think, oh,
what are we supporting here?
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah? No, I tell that. You know, the Democrats are
are stuck on stupid, I think, and so I think
they're going to get forty five percent who are going
to vote for Collin all irrespective. I think who it
does affect is the people who are undecided in the
state of Texas or the people who are unsure with
Senator Cruz. I think that it clearly the people who
were watching that debate last night. It clearly points out
(01:41):
to them that Colin is not in line with most
independents in the state of Texas and certainly not in
line with most Texans, and so I think that'll be
pointed out. I hope to see this this race get
up to ten percentage points. I think it will help
Cruise quite a bit because I think he just pointed
that out. You know, if you look already commercials. He's
running as a moderate, but clearly his record is not moderate,
(02:05):
his votes are not moderate. He is very radical, and
I think Cruz pointed that out very effectively last night.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
What do you think Senator Cruz's big weakness is. It
seems that the Democrats have been very good and I can't,
for the life of me explain how one issue like
abortion can have the kind of impact that it does.
But that seems to be the one issue that Democrats
are winning on in our hammering home and it seems
to help them.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
You know, it is the only issue that they have,
and it's white, suburban women. You know, unfortunately that that
issue is very effective with and so but I think
that Cruz was able to deflect that last night. If
we noticed that was the first question that they asked
last night, Cruise very effectively pointed out that, look, there's
a whole lot more issues than abortion, and we need
(02:49):
to make sure that he pointed out already's radical record
on abortion as well. And I think that's something that
we as Republicans have to focus on a lot more,
pointing out the radical nature of the democratsditions on abortion.
And I think that that most ladies Will Will Will
not agree with that.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
It just seems to me they're an awful lot of people,
you know, they're talking about people will vote Republicans, will
vote for Trump, but they won't vote for Cruz down
the line. And that strikes to me is that's a
problem from Rhino Republicans, the people whose noses are they're
part of the Unit Party, who'd rather be part of
a Democrat group than be pushed to the back of MAGA.
(03:26):
You think there's that at play here too.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Well, I think it is a little bit. And I
think you know, Trump's gonna actually pull higher just because
he's at the top of the ballot, and he's going
to turn a lot of people out who are not
who have never voted Republican before. And so he just
has personality and charisma and all of that. And I
think Cruz is he suffers from a little bit of
(03:51):
just being attacked, you know, so often over the last
few years, and and and and and he you know,
he is a likability factor as well. Think there but
but but Cruz is a great guy. He's a nice guy.
I think people if people could get to know him better,
I think they would see that he's a fantastic guy,
very personable, but I believe that that he's going to
(04:11):
come out ten percent of points plus ahead defeating Colin
all Read. Remember early voting starts on Monday, the twenty first,
and we've got to get out and vote early and
and and vote on election day.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
All right, sir, we'll see what kind of polster you
are pretty soon. Thanks for joining us, appreciate it. Doctor
Robin Armstrong, GOP National Committee Man,
