Speaker 1 (00:00):
Five fifty two start time here induced this morning news.
Victor of Villa joins US Farmer Ice Special Agent. It's amazing, Victor,
how you can kind of turn morale around in an
agency in a twenty four hourd less than a twenty
four hour period post election versus pre election.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
That's absolutely true, A good morning. I actually talked to
a lot of my colleagues and friends that are there
on the border the following morning after the election, and
it was literally like a flip of the switch where
there I felt like they were like just giddy about it.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Just it's so excited.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
And you're right what you said right now that they
are some that were planning on retiring and putting in
their paperwork are now going to hold off and they're
going to stay, which is what we need.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
And you're right. There's see even some others that want to.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Come back because they know that they're gonna basically just
come back and be able to do their job.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
That's what they've been wanting.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
To do for the last four years instead of being
asked to do enforced in many ways to do things
that are not right and in my opinion, illegal in
a lot of ways, and so You're going to see
an incredible movement, not just border patrol, by the way,
it's kind of across the board.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
With law enforcement. You're going to see recruitment go up.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
You're going to see even all the way spelling over
to the military, because people are going to get inspired
to go back and want to be public servants once again.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
And I'm thinking too, that this all comes from the
fact that I think these folks realize that, hey, finally
I'm going to be able to do my job again.
We're going to be following US law. I'm going to
be doing my job again. In fact, I saw a
story early this morning, Victor the thousands of immigration and
Customs enforcement officials that have been relegated to desk work
processing illegal immigrants are going to end up going back

(01:50):
in the field. That's automatically going to give a boost
to the number of border patrol agents we have out
there protecting our border.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
That's right, and there's going to be what I call
a surge of a lot of this personnel, initially down
to the southern border, even northern border. We can't we
can't forget about the northern border. But you're going to
see a surge not only of border patrol agents and
others that have been, like you said, assigned to desk jobs,
but also you're going to see a lot of temporary
duty assignments from other agencies like the US Marshals, maybe

(02:20):
even Secret Service and other agencies that can afford to
lend us borrow their personnel for several months while we
secure that border initially, but then the interior enforcement is
going to be probably what I think the rest of
the nation. I know, I've been doing a lot of
interviews about what that's going to look like with these

(02:42):
deportations that are going to take place.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
I'm guessing Victor that you know, there's only so much
you can do with any given time. I'm guessing Mission
number one is going to have a lot to do
with the cartel in in cutting the amount of fentanyl
and human trafficking coming across that border.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
That's it. That's that's the priority.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
It's the actual line, it's the river, it's the ports
of entry, but more specifically, it's.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Dealing with Mexico. I mean, we have to know and
we have to.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Understand that there's Mexico plays a vital role here and
they haven't been a good partner there haven't been a
good friend or neighbor, and they're going to have to
be held accountable. And so the diplomacy there is going
to be ramped up and a lot of action is
going to be taking care there from President Trump to

(03:29):
deal with Mexico because whether you like it or not,
we need their cooperation to stop that flow. And the
next the biggest thing I think is that President Trump
will do is designate these cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
That's going to be the biggest game changer because we
as the United States government get the ability to bring

(03:50):
additional resources like DD resources, but not just that, but
different authorities to really strip them of their money and
assets that they have all over the world.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I would think too, that there may be a military
component with all this. The cartels are dangerous and they're
very well armed, but we're going to have to We're
going to have to fight fire with fire when it
comes to the cartels.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
We're going to have to And I understand sometimes people
think that that's the initial thing that we're going to do,
but it really is, and it's going to be.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
It's on the table.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
It'll be something that we get to if necessary which
I think at this point it might be it's going
to be necessary to do some kind of intervention, their
military intervention. But we have so much to do initially
that we just need to stamp stop that flow of
all the illicit traffic, the human trafficking, the human smuggling
right now is out of control because in this last

(04:40):
year different things have happened in Mexico that a lot
of people stopped coming in. You saw some of the
numbers of the numbers of them coming drop significantly.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Why because that.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Doesn't mean they stopped coming, They just means that it
came they started coming smuggled and undetected. And we've seen
that spike, especially in the opasto Ara with over two
hundred and eighty stash houses of human beings being detected
on the US side. And so that's another factor because
the cartouse is not going to want to stop, They're

(05:10):
still going to want to continue their flow. And but
now the enforcement's going to be there's something that we
haven't had in the last four years.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
By Victor, thank you as always appreciate it. Former ICE
Special Agent Victor Avila. It is five fifty seven
