Good morning five AMSR time Here on Houston's Morning News.
I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories. As we get
started this morning, the shooter's attorney says he's seen no
evidence as client did the crime. Well, Trump and the
Left's censorship, and coming up at five away, the US
Postal Tief gives himself an a details in the minutes ahead.
You're in Houston's Morning News. First, let's chick out the
(00:40):
morning drive. What great do you give yourself this guy, Mike,
I would give me a B plus. I think I've
been fairly reasonable. You know, I have to count off
from my hair.
Speaker 6 (00:49):
Let's go to Iten East and they've had this hoopa
stankory overnight for the last week or so. It's really
interesting all this different equipment on the outbound lanes right
after bud plant six ' ten and they've taken up
multiple lanes here, but looks like they picked all of
that up.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I'm gonna double check it, but.
Speaker 6 (01:06):
I'm not seeing any smushery this way now the East Loop,
they did shut down the exit ramp overnight to Lawndale
that was going back toward toward the east end, and
that looks to be like they're going to pick that
up shortly too.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Shouldn't affect you too much on the main lanes, main length.
Look good. I took a little ride around the loop
and we look good.

KTRH top tax Defenders, twenty four hour Weather Center for today.
Lots of sunshine with the hegh temperature right about sixty two.
Didn't get as cold last night as everybody thought. National
Weather Service had a freeze warning out. I don't see
anything close to freezing. Well, doctor Terry Smith about that
in about eight minutes. Right now, it's forty at your officials,

Speaker 7 (01:48):
Here's Eric Sharp, good morning five oh one on news
radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Our top story this hour.
Speaker 7 (01:54):
The twenty six year old Ivy League grad charge to
the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson is fighting
extradition back to New York for trial. Luigio Manjoni, his lawyer,
told reporters his client is innocent.
Speaker 8 (02:08):
I haven't seen any evidence that says that he's the shooter.
So that's you know, like I, like I said earlier,
and I wasn't kidding around a couple of things. If
you're going to report something, report accurately, and remember, and
this is not just a small thing. The fundamental concept
of American justice as a presumption of innocent and until
you're proven guilt to be on the reason of doubt.
Speaker 7 (02:28):
Mangioni is contesting extradition to New York, but New York
Governor Cathy Hockels says that she will sign a request
for a governor's warrant he faces his murdered charges in
New York. He's being held in Pennsylvania on weapons and
forgery charges without bail. More Trump cabinet nominees were on
Capitol Hill Tuesday, meeting with senators ahead of upcoming confirmation hearings.
(02:48):
Incoming Senate Majority of Leader John Thune says it's important
to get Trump's picks confirmed so that new Senate can
get to work.
Speaker 9 (02:55):
It's time, high time that we started getting the American
people's work done. And if the Democrats and Center Schumer
in the last waning weeks of this year are going
to do it, we will take it up, and we
will take the pile up that they've left us and
deal with it next year.
Speaker 7 (03:09):
This week, Trump Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth picked up
support to Bio, with Senator Jona Yarns bolstering his chances
of success. There's a lot of big expectations for their
Trump administration. One of the top items on their to
do list is ending the left wing media bias.
Speaker 10 (03:26):
That bias and censorship is a problem that has become
undeniable in recent years.
Speaker 11 (03:30):
We have seen a number of lawsuits against a corporate media.
They've really ratcheted up the game to the point of
absolute election interference.
Speaker 10 (03:40):
Matt Kittle with The Federalist says some of these displays
of left wing bias could even be illegal.
Speaker 11 (03:45):
These are real issues and real violations of equal time
rights with the FCC and campaign finance laws.
Speaker 10 (03:53):
Kittle believes that the mainstream media's bias has irreversibly damaged
their reputation. Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven to forty.
Speaker 7 (04:01):
Republicans on Capital Hill pledging to help President Electrump and
his plans for Matt's deportation of criminal illegal aliens. During
a hearing tuesday, Texas Senator John Cornyan says that this
will send a strong message.
Speaker 12 (04:12):
We have to make it absolutely clear to prospective illegal
immigrants that we will enforce our immigration laws.
Speaker 7 (04:19):
Democrats call in for protections for so called Dreamers who
were brought to America as children. As President Electron prepares
for the legal fight over birthright citizenship, Mark Recryan with
the Center for Immigration Studies telling KTRH he will be
able to end it with an executive order.
Speaker 13 (04:36):
So what the President can do is, through an executive order,
tell the State Department not to issue passports to newborns
unless the parents can show that at least one of
them is a US citizen or a Green card holder
in the Social Security Administration not to give soci Security
numbers to newborns.
Speaker 7 (04:54):
But ultimately, he says, the issue of birthright citizenship will
be decided by the U. S. Supreme Court. KTRH news
time is five h five a merger between grocery chain
Kroger and Albertson's being blocked a judge signing with the
FTC two day, which argued the merger would have eliminated
head to head competition between the two chains. It also
says it would have led to higher prices for shoppers.
(05:16):
The merger was set to be where twenty five billion dollars.
All housing prices continue to climb, but not a slower pace.
Speaker 14 (05:24):
Redvin is projecting a four percent rise in the median
home price next year, with home sales expected to rise
by less than ten percent. Texas realtor Cliff Freeman says
the market is finally settling down from its post pandemic cycle, and.
Speaker 15 (05:35):
There seems to be a consensus that there's a normalization
instead of this crazy accelerated market that we've seen the
last four years. So I think that that four percent
number is probably pretty reasonable.
Speaker 14 (05:48):
However, he believes factors like higher insurance costs and elevated
interest rates could keep a lid on price growth here
in Texas. Corey Ulson News Radio seven forty KTRH and.
Speaker 7 (05:57):
Holiday tipping is of course back in While p are
still generous, the rates have stayed virtually the same for
the last few years. Ted Rossman of Bank Rate says
that people have been hit by inflation, keeping the number
of relative their numbers relatively flat, and if you can't
afford it, there are some tips for giving tips.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Tip equivalent to one service. That's a really nice.
Speaker 16 (06:18):
Holiday gift if you can afford it.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
These are people that we interact.
Speaker 16 (06:21):
With regularly, so it can be nice and it can
also help to get better service next year.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
He says, people are more out to tip at the
holidays because we know the providers rather than a faceless transaction.
All this time yesterday we were telling you about Mattress
Mac preparing for surgery. Now we're happy to tell you
Stavid was released yesterday afternoon, saying Mac was out of
open hard surgery and doing well. He'd like to thank
all the community for their support during the time, and
(06:49):
he says please continue to keep him in your thoughts
and prayers as he focuses on recovery.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
We will definitely be doing that.
Speaker 7 (06:55):

quarterfinals of the end seasoned Tournament. Coverage at seven point

I'm um, money, why don't you call more?
Speaker 17 (07:12):
We all avoid it, but you'll better understand the world
around you if you check in with US News Radio seven.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
KTRH five oh eight is our time here in Houston's
port news. What has your luck been with a post office?
Not very good? In my case, it hasn't been so
bad in Houston. But when I lived in Virginia, I
remember once I sent a set of documents, insurance documents.
(07:43):
I had to mail them back, and they were going
to the same city and state that I lived in.
In fact, I probably should have in retrospect, I should
have just dropped them off rather than stick them in
the mail. But you know, they had sent me a
you know, the field down envelope, and the poste already paid,
so I thought, well, all right, I'll just sign this
and I'll put it in the mail. It never arrived.
(08:05):
Well I take that back. It did arrive six months later,
back at my house, and it had been stamped that
it had gone through Indonesia. I don't I'm not sure
how that happens. How do how does something go through
Indonesia to go to the same zip code as where
(08:26):
it was coming from but it did. And you know,
the Post Office has had its fair share of problems,
ten billion dollars in debt. So when you got the
Postmaster General who's testifying in front of your committee, you're
oversight committee, and you ask him, how would you grade
(08:47):
the job that you're doing? In other words, how would
you grade the Post Office? He gave himself an A.
He said he thinks he's done an excellent job, to
to which Georgia Republican Representative Rich McCormick started criticizing his performance.
Mister de Joy being a grown ass band. His reaction
(09:10):
to that was to take his hands and put them
over his ears, like a six year old child would
do when when you're telling them something they don't want
to hear. He just put his hands over his ears.
No I can't hear you. That's quite amazing for somebody
in that position. It seemed to me that act alone
(09:32):
should tell you everything you need to know about the
Postmaster General five to ten time for traffic and weather together.
Speaker 6 (09:38):
Mad at me one time because I'm like, oh, my
package is somewhere out in space.
Speaker 18 (09:41):
They're like, well, so we got procedures and regulations. Your
package is not somewhere out in space, so I don't
know where you want to go. It also wasn't at
your house that was the problem. That's true. That's true.
Let's head out for the Katie Freeway. Poke around here
westbound at six ' ten.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Now, if you're passing Denny's and Ihop and Silver Eagle,
watch out, there's a stall on that ramp. And boy,
if you're going to have a stall, band, don't do
it there. That's where all the merging craziness is. There's
no backup whatsoever. I almost wish there was a little
bit because people the rest of the world is flying
by like me. And so watch out outbound this Katie
Freeway outbound the ramp to six ten looks like they
(10:16):
picked up that ramp closure on the east loop off
the ship Channel bridge that goes to Lawndale. If you're
trying to go to work right there, that was the
Lawndale ramp that goes westbound back toward Westside and all
that business. And also they picked up all that habitashery
outside the butt plant on it in eastbound and that
was They're doing this every night from six to ten
(10:37):
back out to about I want to say, John Ralston.
It's not been causing a problem since they've been doing
it overnight, unless they leave it hanging for a while.
By the way, Terry, I know you keep a lot
of statistics in the golf ball. I neglect it to
tell you to make a note. But yesterday, December ten,
was the first day that Jimmy wore pants in twenty
(10:57):
twenty four.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
So that's a weather statistic.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
That Actually that's not quite true though, because I wore
I wore pants in January and February of this year,
so I had this. This is not the first appearance
this year, just the first appearance.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Of the pants. It's like groundhog Day, that's right.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
That's that's when you know it's time to flip on
the furnace. From r KTRH Top Tax Defenders twenty four
hour Weather Center, Terry Smith is here.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
He's all right.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
If I send a nasty graham to the National Weather
Service out they set out a freeze warning, right, and
so you know, I hauled all those plants inside. Right,
it's forty degrees outside right now, right, we are nowhere
near freezing well we aren't.
Speaker 19 (11:36):
But we didn't have a freeze warning in Harris county,
Montgomery County did, Grimes County did, and so it was
for our counties mainly to the north. But you're right,
but let's see where's condra right now, thirty six. They'll
probably drop another degree or two.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Still not freezing. No, it's not freezing.
Speaker 19 (11:56):
And usually with the freeze warnings, so what they're letting
you know is that it's going to be freezing for
a couple of hours, not just like an hour or
two of freezing temperatures. That doesn't usually call us massive problems,
but if you have several hours of freezing temperatures, that
can be a problem. Listen, the plants don't like the
cold weather. If it's frosty out there, they're not going
(12:18):
to be happy. So you did your plants a good thing,
even though it's not quite as cold as you were expecting.
So we are warming up gradually. The plants will be
happy to be back outside. After tonight today, another sunny,
cool day, low sixties today. Tonight, the temperatures are back
down into the thirties to low forties, so it is
(12:39):
kind of chilly tonight again, but starting to warm up
with southerly winds tomorrow. Alt the mid sixties and Friday,
Saturday clouds roll in. We've got some rain forty percent
chance of showers. Friday sixty percent chance of showers and
some thunder. Saturday and Sunday. Not much rain, maybe a
shower or two, just a twenty percent chance to getting wet.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
I have a story coming up here in a couple
of minutes. To me, it's a head scratcher, and maybe
there's somebody who can help me out with this. Though
I don't quite understand people who hire non dentists to
perform dental procedures, or people who hire non physicians to
(13:37):
do things like botox injections. I get the saving money idea,
but there's so many horror stories of things that have
gone wrong. You would think that nobody would try to
do something like that. But we have a Houston woman
who had lip injections of what you thought was botox.
It wasn't and it didn't turn out so well. More
(14:00):
than that story coming up first though, at five plenty
traffic count bat your mom does with your hair? You know,
traffic and weather together, Scott, can you what can you
tell me, sky mike why somebody would hire a non dentist,
for example, to pull your tooth.
Speaker 6 (14:12):
I wouldn't even touch that. I know, there's no way
I wouldn't go there. Let's go to Let's go to
the west Lipp six y ten and it Katie Freeway
outbound and well man, I don't like having a stall
right there in that interchange ramp right in front of
Denny's and ihop. As you're going outbound, watch out for them.
Hopefully they'll ninja that. Sure would like to see a
bigger light response here. Is there anybody in the world
(14:33):
that doesn't know that after the tone? If you live
in a grass hut, you know that after the tone,
start talking and when you're finished hanging up. I mean
that's tide pod level stupid. Anyway, I fixed that on
the tip line message. So call me at seven point
three two one two tips and just get right down
to business. I'm sky Miikee on the generator Supercenter dot

Speaker 20 (16:20):
Not.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
First of all, I have a granted I'm male. I'm
not female, proud to say I'm a man. I truly am.
I don't mind that I have a few lines. I
don't mind that I have gray hairs. I don't really
need plastic surgery. I don't think even the most skilled
plastic surgeon could improve my looks that much.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
So I'm just I'm happy with who I am.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
And maybe this is a sign of as a society
that we're just not all happy with who we are,
young women in particular. All you know, it's amazing about
cosmetic procedures that are being done, liposuction, botox injections, all
those types of things. And if you have the financial resources,
(17:08):
and this is how you choose to spend your money.
God bless you spend your money as you see fit
as your money. But when I see young parents in particular,
and that's what this story is all about. This is
a young woman. She speaks Spanish, she doesn't speak any English.
She lives here in Houston. And in the reason, you know,
we've seen these stories about unlicensed you know, dentists and
(17:31):
I put that in air quotes, pulling teeth for people
and doing root canals, you know, and it generally involves
members of the Hispanic community. I don't have not spent
enough time in Mexico or Latin America America to note
this is normal. You know, Do people normally just have
their neighbors pull teeth for them or do root canals,
because it seems like it would be a little more
(17:52):
complex than that, or is it a matter of, you know,
we don't have the money to go to a real
licensed dentist. In this case, this woman got a botox
and Jack got her lips plumped up. And it's not
like she didn't spend the money. She spent four hundred
and ninety nine dollars on this procedure. Here's the report
from kp RC two. See what they have to say
(18:13):
about what happened to this woman and what's going to
happen next.
Speaker 21 (18:17):
Daniella, this victim tells me that she's had cosmetic procedures
done in the past and always does her research, but
this time, in a hurry to get flip filler before

inside that business, police say they found fake botox.

Speaker 21 (19:35):
Doctor Richard Laconi owns the anti Age Institute and says
the market for cosmetic procedures is growing, but he hears
about bad procedures, sometimes influenced by social media almost every week.

Speaker 5 (20:26):
Okay, well she learned a lesson. I guess there's something
we said for that, or maybe the overall lesson here
is to take a look in the mirror, look at
what's staring back at you, and learn to be happy
with that without having to do all the cosmetic stuff.

Speaker 12 (23:02):
The American people are fed up with the lawlessness of

Speaker 7 (23:12):
Texas Senator John Cornyn says that there are more than
one million illegal immigrants who remain in the country despite
a final court order for removal, that he says is
a good place to start. In recent years, sanctuary cities
have become another focal point to the border crisis. Thankfully,
that could also be finally coming to an end pretty soon.
Speaker 10 (23:31):
It looks like the Trump administration has plans to crack
down on these cities.
Speaker 26 (23:35):

Aren't they looking out for Americans? And if we asked

The cost of car repairs keeps going up, and that's
got more than thirty million people putting off normal maintenance,
according to a new Carfax survey. As we learned this
election season, a vast number of people that worried about
the economy. However, ktrh's car pro Jerry Reynolds said delaying
maintenance may look good short term, but it's not a
good idea.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 30 (26:41):
I know it hurts right now to rotate those tires
or to get that all changed, but in the long
run it's so much cheaper if you want to make
a car last.
Speaker 7 (26:51):
Car pro says delaying routine maintenance will end up causing
more expensive repairs in the long run. Out the battle
the Biden inflation, a new report said more people this
year are doing part time holiday work.
Speaker 20 (27:04):
The biggest concerns people talk about are the economy and
worries about their personal finances. University of Houston professor Stephen
Craig says part of the worry is that the world
seems more uncertain today than in the past. But working
a side gig to pay for the holidays is smarter
than running up the credit cards.
Speaker 24 (27:22):
People have been talking about how great the economy is,
but you know, I mean, in the political season that
we just went through, one of the things that the
government's I'm thinking about very much in general is that
on average, people are a lot more nervous than it
used to be. You know, just the world is unsettled.
Speaker 20 (27:38):
But the fact that the retail industry needs seasonal workers
could indicate optimism about the economy a good thing, Professor
Craig says. Michael shilohe News Radio seven forty k TRA.

Five thirty seven.
Speaker 5 (28:14):
Our time here in Houston's Morning You may have heard
about this story this Milby High School student, fifteen year
old student Sergio Rodriguez, who died on Monday morning while
trying to cross the train tracks in front of a
slow moving Union Pacific train. Mayor whitt Myers decided to
get involved in this. He's asked the Department of Public
(28:34):
Works to estimate the cost of a pedestrian bridge near
that railroad crossing. Estimate the cost of that, and then
he says he's going to go to Union Specific Pacific
and ask them to pay for it, because, after all,
the safety issue is their safety. Issue A couple of
(28:57):
things about this. Having dealt with the rail roads before,
I can tell you that generally speaking, the attitude is is, well,
you know, we've been here a lot longer than you have.
Why'd you all build a school right next to the
railroad tracks? Or, in the case of a place I
used to live, why did you build a subdivision just
(29:17):
on the other side of these railroad tracks. You knew
the tracks were here, they've been here all along. In fact,
in fact, in the community I used to live in,
we had a they routinely would run, you know, long
trains with more cars than you were supposedly allowed by
(29:38):
ordinance to have, to which the railroad said is we
didn't make that rule.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
You did.
Speaker 5 (29:44):
We've been here longer than you. You can rune us
a ticket, we're not paying it, and they didn't, and
they basically got their way. Now I don't that that's
the case here. But if you go to the railroad
and you say a kid got killed, we want you
to build a pedestrian bridge, here's what they're likely to ask. Okay,
(30:07):
did the kid get killed because the gate malfunction? No,
the gate was working, fine, Did the kid get killed
because the train was speeding in exceptive speed. No, the
train was moving slowly and doing what trains do when
they come to intersections, to tooting their horn. So the
train did everything the train was supposed to do. The
student just made a bad judgment or wasn't paying attention,
(30:31):
and the railroad is likely to say, how is that
our fault? Why should we pay for that? So good
luck to the mayor in this one five point forty
nine for traffic and weather together, strick out that drive
once again. Here's guy Mike.
Speaker 6 (30:41):
All right, let's take you around the horn that cleared
that star. You know it was a small deal. I

Speaker 6 (31:26):
I'm a native Houstonian and it seems like something I
should know about, So Kristin, the golf ball is actually
the National Weather Service Doppler tower next to Hook's Airport.
It's right over by twenty nine to twenty and Graham Parkway,
which just happens to make it a landmark. You know,
when I'm telling you what's going on on the Grand Parkway,
we don't know what they're.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Doing in there.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
There's no doors or windows. I think they're up there

than yesterday. But the freezing temperatures. Have to go look
and see where the freezing temperatures are. I think I
see freezing at Crockett right now. I'm going to go
see where else we might find some very cold air.
But here's the deal. Cooler, dryer air today and tonight,
(32:25):
then slowly warming up and eventually some rain. And that's
when the golf ball starts to go to work. When
we get the rain Driday today, low sixties tonight temperatures

are out and they're asking people in government, Hey, what
what's up with these drones? And nobody seems to know.
Nobody has an answer. The governor of New Jersey said,
why don't.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
We don't know?
Speaker 5 (33:31):
You know what these drones are is, but I don't
think it's anything to worry about. Well, if you don't
know what it is, how do you know it's not
anything to worry about. I mean, this is in New
Jersey right by New York City.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
You know what?
Speaker 5 (33:44):
What? What? What groups or individuals or government entities are
using these drones? They belong to somebody. They're there for
a reason. Maybe somebody should find out about it. Is
that ever an appropriate answer? By the way, from the FAA,
we don't know what that is in the sky. Yeah,
that's not a good answer. Five to fifty. We'll talk
about it next five to fifty. Let's get the update

Speaker 5 (36:05):
Yeah, we don't know, we don't know what they are
are the UFOs. They're pretty sure they're drones. I assume
they're making that little, you know, that kind of that
be buzzing noise that the drones have a tendency to make.
Although they look like they're pretty high in the sky
and they also look pretty large. But what are they doing?
Somebody should know the answer to that, and at the
(36:26):
very least somebody should be able to say, we know
what they are, we know what they're doing, we just
can't tell you. I might accept that answer, depending on
who's giving it to me. But now this odd. We
don't know what they are, but you shouldn't worry about it.
Representative Texas Representative Tony Gonzalez on News Nation he's not
(36:48):
sure what they are either, but he sure would like
to find out.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Do you have a sense of what this is? It's yeah,
it is. It's madness.
Speaker 31 (36:54):
I mean, the fact that we don't know what's in
the sky, and maybe you know.
Speaker 32 (36:58):
Even you don't like members of Congress, you're right, you're
asking the questions I had.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
I had a list of questions.
Speaker 31 (37:03):
I asked some very very simple questions to the FBI,
to CBP. I'm talking about, you know, high level of
government agencies.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
I got zero answers.
Speaker 31 (37:12):
The answers was like, I don't know, we don't kind
of know.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
No, that's not good. That's not good for anyone.
Speaker 31 (37:17):
And what happens is the American people deserve to know
what's happening, deserve to know the truth. Otherwise they're going
to make up the truth. Right, these half truths are
going to give me spun into lies.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Who knows what's going to happen.
Speaker 31 (37:27):
But one of the questions that I asked specifically to
the FBI.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Was how what is your budget?
Speaker 31 (37:32):
I said, on appropriations as well, what is your budget
for counter uas connor drones?
Speaker 3 (37:38):
He told me five hundred thousand. I mean that's a drop. Clearly,
they're way way behind.
Speaker 32 (37:43):
So either they're they're way behind, or they're or you
guys are in the dark, all.
Speaker 31 (37:47):
Right, guys, and you guys is us yeah, not the country?
Speaker 28 (37:51):
I mean.
Speaker 32 (37:51):
Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House, was asked that
basic question today and he said he didn't think so.
But it gets to the point of is the US
government doing something in the dark that we you're right,
are just not aware of.
Speaker 31 (38:02):
Well, I mean this goes goes back to kind of
dose you know, dose is getting all this attention. Everyone's
going like, wait a second here, so many Americans are going,
what do you do here? Where is our taxpayer dollars going?
When you don't even know what's in the sky, why
it's in the sky? What's drones? Is not a new technology?
I mean this is an old tech. You can go
to Best Buy.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
My four year old has a drone, right, okay? If
we don't even know.
Speaker 31 (38:25):
That it's in our backyard, this is a problem.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
This is once again where we're going to.
Speaker 31 (38:30):
Have committee after committee, a department after department come before
the Congress and say, what.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
Do you do here? Tell us why you know you
need to have this, that or the other on this budget.
So how do you get answers? You basically don't stop.
Speaker 31 (38:43):
You can't just go, oh, well, we didn't get any
answers today. You got to keep pushing. But to me,
I look at it, it's all about the power of
the purse. You'd be amazed. And when you start going, hey,
I'm going to erase some zeros from your bank account
because you can't prove what you're using these dollars for.
On how quickly you respond and then you go okay, wait,
a second.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
This is what we're doing.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
This is one of the many things that makes us
frustrated about government is not being able to get a
straight answer or being told well, you shouldn't worry about that,
when it's obviously something that residents in New Jersey and
New York are probably worried about. I mean, we know
what has happened in New York in the past. We know,
thanks to the Biden administration, we have terrorists who are
(39:26):
living in this country. Is it too far fetched to
think that maybe it's a terrorist testing on some drones
for an attack. No, not at all. So they need
to come up with answers. They need to know and
somebody who somebody at the FAA needs to speak out
about this, or somebody within the Biden administration just needs
(39:46):
to grab the bull by the horns and say, we
need to know what this is. We need to fully
investigate this, We need to alleviate people's fears if we can.

that happens, but I mean as far as getting to
the airport and checking through security and all that stuff,
and then realizing that if you don't run to the gates,
you're not going to get there in time to board
the plane. I've never had that happen. My wife is
also habitually early, so her belief is we get there
an hour and a half two hours ahead of when
the flight is supposed to take off, and generally speaking,
(48:03):
that works fine. In fact, usually we end up, even
if the airport is really busy, we end up at
the gate probably forty five minutes before it's going to board,
which is kind of boring, but okay. At least I
know she's happy that we got there early. But this
got my attention because I've never arrived this early. Delta
Airlines evidently is and routinely telling its passengers to arrive
(48:28):
three hours before the flight is supposed to take off.
One passenger wrote about it on Breddit, wondering if it
was real. Is this real or is this some sort
of prank?
Speaker 3 (48:41):
You know?
Speaker 5 (48:41):
Three hours? Are you kidding me? They got it an
alert that said the Delta Airlines TSA baggage screening systems
at the Orlando Airport are currently operating at a reduced capacity,
causing longer processing times. Please arrive three hours prior to
your scheduled departure to drop off your check luggage. Hey
that's nice, that's informative. Yeah, that's not unusual. Yeah, it's
(49:03):
routine to get there two hours ahead of time. So
if they're having a problem at the airport, like maybe
there's construction going on like we have here in Houston,
then yeah, I mean maybe you need to build an
extra time flying on one of the busiest flying days
of the year for Christmas. Yeah, you should get there
at least two hours early, maybe even earlier than that.
You know, they should be instead of going Why would
(49:24):
they tell me to do that? You should be going. Well,
thank you for telling me something's wrong.

his hands like a petulant child, put his hands over

(52:19):
else they probably don't want to hear. The post office.
We have just fifty five postal inspectors for the entire

So Lloyd the Joy he is the Postmaster General and
Chief executive Officer of the United States Postal Service, gave
himself an a yesterday, and when other members of Congress
disagreed with him on the A, he, like a petulant child,
held his hands over his ears. He didn't want to

would you give Louis de Joy an a grade?
Speaker 3 (55:06):
Congressman? Can you hear me? Are you there?
Speaker 36 (55:13):
Sir?
Speaker 3 (55:13):
Hello? I don't can he hear me?
Speaker 5 (55:18):
I don't. He stopped responding. Okay, maybe he's doing something else.
Should I just like keep talking until I get his attention? Listene, Congressman. Hello, Congressman, Hello, Congressman.
Are you there?
Speaker 36 (55:33):
Sir?
Speaker 3 (55:34):
All right?
Speaker 5 (55:35):
He can't kevidentley, he cannot hear me. I don't know
what he's listening to, but he can't hear me. All right, yep,
I'm here. Can you hear me?
Speaker 13 (55:43):
Now?
Speaker 28 (55:43):
I can hear you?
Speaker 2 (55:44):
Oh?
Speaker 28 (55:44):
Yes? Or I've been hearing you?
Speaker 5 (55:45):
Okay, well now I can hear you.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
Sorry?
Speaker 5 (55:49):
Sorry, he took us as long to get that figured out.
Welcome to the show. I think the question I was
asking was about the Postmaster General, Louis de Joy. Would
you get he gave himself an A yesterday from the Congress.
Would you give him an A?
Speaker 28 (56:02):
Well, I probably can't say on the air what I've
given him, Jimmy, but it would not definitely be a
You know, we've dealt with the USPS now for several years.
We actually went to the facility over in Forbinton County
a couple of beout a year or so back working
with Trail and myself and Al Green was supposed.
Speaker 3 (56:20):
To be there.
Speaker 28 (56:21):
He couldn't make it that day. We wanted to know
why was the hold up on all the packages? And
do you know, we knocked on the door. We were plied.
We held a press confidence you know, the news was
there and we said, look, we'd like to get an
explanation of this. Can was the postmaster for this facility
come out and talk to us crickets. We waited there
five to ten minutes. We knocked again. The guy behind
(56:44):
the counter. They said, well, I don't think he's going
to come out. This is the kind of attitude you're
a US Postal Service has and people want to know
why their mail is not getting delivered.
Speaker 5 (56:53):
Yeah, I think what's particularly disappointing to me about all
this is, we know what kind of problems we're going
out of the Post Office. Before Louis de Joi took over,
he came from the private sector. He ran the Logistics,
a very successful nationwide logistics company. So why hasn't he
been able to translate or transfer that over to the
Post Office and make it run more smoothly?
Speaker 28 (57:16):
You know, Jenny, what I tell people, it's because of
the idea that the environment there for federal employees. And
I know you know this, You've heard this, You've probably
talked about it. A lot of them aren't even working
after COVID. They went home, they work from home. They
don't even come into their federal office. That's the culture there.
I actually had a talk with Speaker Mike Johnson Sunday.
(57:39):
We were at an event with him, and I said,
one of the things we're talking about and getting our
budgets straight, getting our spending under control. One of the
things I said is, look, what we need to do
is make those employees come back and work from their office.
You know, there's one guy. I don't know if you
heard this. There was one guy who was taking a
picture of himself in the bathtub while he was working
from home. And I said, make these guys and gals
(58:01):
come back to their federal office work from the office,
so they can pick minus the pictures of the bathtub,
of course, so that we can hold them accountable and
we can make sure that they're working for the American people.
And of course I know the poster carrier. They get
out there and they work from facilities and they deliver
the mail. But it's the same attitude. They don't care
the ones we dealt with that they're having problems with
(58:24):
stolen checks.
Speaker 13 (58:25):
You know this.
Speaker 28 (58:26):
Yeah, I had a check stolen myself last year from
my campaign account. They're paying some bills. They washed it.
It was like, I don't know, three or poine dollars invoice.
They washed it and put fourteen thousand dollars in the line.
Guy walked into Wales Fargo and wrote it. They gave
him fourteen thousand dollars in cash. And yet the Post
(58:47):
Office acts like, as you pointed out, that everything's peachy.
You can't make this up.
Speaker 5 (58:53):
They lost ten million dollars, so they have become a liability.
Do we actually need a United States Postal Service? Why
can't we begin the at least the process of privatizing this.
I know we have a lot of people on pensions
and a lot of people like that that government job.
But it seems to me it's time to blow the
post office up.
Speaker 28 (59:11):
Well, Amazon can deliver stuff the next day, sometimes the
same day, you know, and so, and you know this
up you know ups And of course you've got all
these other trade companies like you've pulled out the joy
ahead of successful trade company. You can actually do this stuff.
Why the Postal Service itself can't do it? I think they.
I mean, let's face it, I think they love their
(59:33):
course job. They've gotten lazy. When the post office, when
the postmaster and a facility will not come out and
talk to a couple of members of conference, something is wrong.
Speaker 5 (59:43):
Yeah, something's very wrong. Thank you, sir, appreciate your time.

Good morning. It is six thirty one on news Radio

elect Trump promising to declare a national emergency on day
one and begin carrying out mass deportations of criminal illegal aliens.
Democrats spoke about the effects of mass deportation and how
it would have on the economy. Republicans praise the move
during Tuesdays hearing on Capitol Hill.
Speaker 12 (01:02:02):
The American people are fed up with the lawlessness of
the southern border, and in November they tasked Republicans the
job of cleaning it up, and that we will do.
Speaker 7 (01:02:12):
Texas Senator John Cornin says that there are more than
one million illegal immigrants who remained in the country despite
of final court order for removal, that he says is
a good place to start. Sanctuary cities have been falling

Now.
Speaker 7 (01:02:27):
Even New York Democrats are starting to reject these open
border policies.
Speaker 26 (01:02:32):
Mayor Adams is famous for saying that the migrant crisis
would destroy the city, and he surprisingly is actually one
person who may be open to some sort of compliance
with ICE.

Joey Chester with the Federation for American Immigration Reform told
KTRH if other Democrat mayors don't fall in line, they
could face consequences from both Trump and their voters. President

Speaker 33 (01:04:47):
It's something that Congressman Randy Weber has been trying to
deliver on.
Speaker 29 (01:04:52):
It's absolutely something needs to be discussed. You know, things
are bigger and better in Texas and we've got a
really big problem obviously with our postal service in Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
And it's something he knows firsthand.

Speaker 7 (01:05:24):
The most recent election cycle, showing a large number of
people are worried about the US economy and summer saving
money by putting off routine car maintenance. The car pro
Jerry Reynolds, heard weekends here on KTIH, says he always
advises people to get the maintenance done, even if it's expensive.
Speaker 30 (01:05:41):
You will end up making more repairs and more expensive
repairs if you don't. It's very short sighted to think
they're saving a little bit of money. Doing maintenance right
now is saving you money because it's hurting the life
of your car, and that's just the way it is.
Speaker 7 (01:05:58):
Reynolds says, for example, it doesn't cost much to have
the tires rotated on most vehicles, but it can add
ten to twenty thousand miles of use to a set
of tires. KTRH News Time is six thirty six more
people taking holiday jobs and setting upside gigs this Christmas season,
largely because of the concerns about the economy and with
consumer debt skyrocketing, more people need those part time johnts
(01:06:21):
and according to the University of Houston professor Stephen Craig,
to work through the holidays rather than take on new debt.
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
That's what most people are trying to do.
Speaker 24 (01:06:29):
You know, just the world is unsettled, and so you know,
one way to cope with that, of course, is to have,
you know, have something in the bank. And so would
you rather extend yourself by working some extra or would
you rather take on debt and pay it off over
the year.

Wow, don't invite that, dude. Six thirty eight is our
time here in Houston's porting news. All right, it's the
time of the year where we're asked to remember all
the etiquette listens, etiquette etiquette, pardon me, etiquette lessons, you know,
the family post, the etiquette lessons, the dear an Landers
kind of thing, the etiquette lessons that our moms tried
desperately to treat us as children. Did your mom do
(01:07:40):
that for you? Did you have a boot camp? My
mom had a boot camp. You know, we were taught.
You know what fork do you use? And you know
what side of the table the napkin goes on, and
pulling up a chair for somebody, and all that kind
of stuff. You know, manners. So here's here's here's a
list that you can pass along to members of your
family they did not learn any manners for whatever reason,
(01:08:02):
before they come to your next holiday gathering. These are
the eleven rudest things that you could do when showing
up to somebody's party. Number one touching and moving things.
You know, when you come into the home and they
say make yourself at home, they don't mean, you know,
take the TV remote and leave it in the bathroom.
They don't touch a bunch of stuff and don't move things.
(01:08:25):
Number two. Expecting a tour. Don't demand a tour of
someone's home. Wait to be invited by your host. Number
three overstay your welcome. That's also difficult as a host.
How do you without being rude yourself? How do you
let people know other than why sure's late, other than
that fake yawn thing. How do you let somebody know
(01:08:46):
it's time for them to go? You gotta go? Number
four hiding a mess. You know you spill a little
red wine on the carpet, or you know you have
a problem in the bathroom. You know you should fess
up to it. Knock over a lamp and break it. Yeah,
use the last world of toilet paper? You got that
kind of stuff? Number five snooping, you know, like going
(01:09:06):
into the medicine cabinets or the kitchen cabinet's looking at
what kind of stuff they got. Number six bringing an
uninvited plus one. Never show up with an unexpected plus one.
Number seven waiting to share dietary restrictions. They're making the
meal ahead of time. If you have if you're gluten free,
please tell them you're gluten free before you get there.
(01:09:27):
Number eight feeding their dog. First of all, they may
not normally allow their dog to eat the things that
you are feeding them, So don't feed their dog. Number
nine disrespecting shoe rules you know, if you can see
that other people have taken off their shoes and the
host likes you, prefers you without wearing shoes, then take
your shoes off. You know you're in their house. Number
(01:09:47):
ten interfering with the setup. Don't switch place cards. If
they've taken the trouble to have place cards so they
have a certain seating order, don't try to change it.
And number eleven finally showing up empty handed. Never show
up at a host home without a little token of
your appreciation. Six forty Time for traffic and weather together, SI,

This week, Trump's Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth picked up

Speaker 5 (01:26:42):
Seven eight Our time. Here in Houston's Morning News, I'm
looking at a Crown article that's kind of make me going.
Really they made an article about this? Okay, here's the
headline from the Houston Chronicle. Houston Mayor Whitmeyer usually fires
or hires city hall staff on a Friday. Why is
this the case. Okay, not everybody, but usually on a Friday. Well,
(01:27:06):
I think I can figure out the fired part, right,
I mean, do we really need to ask the question
about why why people get fired on a Friday?
Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
Maybe?
Speaker 5 (01:27:18):
Why would anybody get fired out of Friday so that
they can hand you a box with all of your belongings,
escort you to the door, and get you out of
the building before the weekend starts. Just about everybody in
my business gets fired out of Friday. Isn't that true
(01:27:41):
for much of corporate America? Do most people get fired
on Friday? I don't think that's unusual. Now, as to
why where Mayor Whitmeyer would hire people on a Friday,
I'm not quite certain why that would be. Maybe maybe
maybe it's a case of in his case, I think
it's a lot of department heads that have been replaced
(01:28:04):
for the mayor's office. And probably if you're firing people
on Friday, which is the normal routine, then you are
hiring the person to replace them on the same day
In many cases, I would guess that would be my
explanation as far as what's going on. But I thought
everybody knew that. You know, if you're going to get fired.
It's usually on a Friday, seven to ten time for

necessarily want a sanctuary city or there to be sanctuary cities.
They don't want government to hide the illegal aliens who
should be back in their country of origin. Joining us
(01:33:57):
to talk about Joey Chester, communications doctor at Fair. You know,
it was pretty overwhelming. The immigration was, if not the
top issue, certainly number two to the economy in the
presidential election. And I think the election results speak for themselves.
So how how much longer can these sanctuary cities ignore
all this joy?
Speaker 26 (01:34:19):
Well, it totally was a mandate for both President Trump
and Congress.
Speaker 36 (01:34:25):
And look, President Trump ran.
Speaker 26 (01:34:26):
On this idea of mass deportations, and so this is
no surprise to the American people or the sanctuary leaders.
Speaker 36 (01:34:36):
This is what people voted for. They want to see people.
Speaker 26 (01:34:39):
Removed from the country, and now we're seeing a resistance
movement pop up across the country. I believe it was
San Diego last night that voted to codify its sanctuary
policies and refuse to work with the Trump administration on deportations.
You've got Massachusetts and then the city of Boston.
Speaker 36 (01:34:56):
You've got Chicago.
Speaker 26 (01:34:58):
You've got people in Philadelphia pushing for the mayor there
to reaffirm its sanctuary status. So it's all across the
country these sanctuary leaders, save for mayor Atoms in New
York City. Surprisingly, they're doubling down on their sanctuary policies.
But here's what's going to happen is Tom Homan has
said that these sanctuary cities are not going to stop
(01:35:20):
the Trump administration from doing its job to remove illegal
aliens from the country. Now, the best way to do
that when you're dealing with a criminal legal alien getting
out of jail is you send ice into the jail
where they can arrest the bad guy in the jail.
In the safety and security of that jail and easily
(01:35:42):
make that transfer. Doesn't put the community at risk at all,
doesn't put officers at risk, it doesn't put the illegal
alien at risk.
Speaker 36 (01:35:48):
It's a nice, peaceful transfer.
Speaker 26 (01:35:50):
Well, what happened if you don't comply is home and
will just send a team into the community to find.
Speaker 36 (01:35:56):
These illegal aliens.
Speaker 26 (01:35:58):
And that means that if you're searching for one guy,
well that one guy may be hold up in a
house and say there's five other illegal.
Speaker 36 (01:36:05):
Aliens living in that house.
Speaker 26 (01:36:07):
Well, now Ice isn't just going to take that one
illegal alien. They're going to take the others that are
living there too, which actually goes against what these sanctuary
jurisdictions are trying to do. So I think we may
actually end up seeing a shift as these immigration agents
are in the communities and they are conducting these searches
(01:36:28):
for illegal aliens. So be very curious to see how
it plays out. But I think it's clear that voters
rejected these.
Speaker 5 (01:36:34):
Policies, Oh no, no doubt about it. I guess the
question would be is does there need to be more
of a character stick approach? In other words, we're the
federal government. These people are breaking federal law. We have
every right to come in here and arrest them for
breaking federal law, assuming you know that they're in there.
I'm sure the local authorities will do their best to
keep that information from the Feds. But at the end
of the day, do federal tax dollars need to be involved?
(01:36:56):
In other words, we're not going to be sending any
more federal funds to you until you cooperate.
Speaker 26 (01:37:02):
I would not be surprised if we see that effort
in Congress to restrict federal funds for sanctuary cities, trying
to force their hand for them to cooperate. You know,
one of the big funders that's been an issue under
the Biden administration is the FEMA Sheltered and Services funds.
Speaker 36 (01:37:21):
It's like a.
Speaker 26 (01:37:22):
Flush fund for sanctuary cities, and you know, you could
see the next Congress pass an appropriations package that restricts
those funds, helps get them comply. The other thing that
I think that we could see happen is, you know,
sanctuary cities really go against the rule of law and
undermine federal immigration law. So it would be interesting to
(01:37:42):
see a lawsuit happen where eventually the whole idea concept
of sanctuary cities ends up in front of the Supreme Court,
where hopefully the Trump administration could build a rock solid
case and maybe we get the Supreme Court of rule
on it and outlaw them once and for all.
Speaker 5 (01:37:57):
Well, there's likely to be federal cases in both psyche,
so I appreciate it. Joey Chester, communication director at Fair

President elect Trump promising to declare a national emergency on
day one and begin carrying out mass deportations of criminal

the mass deportation and what it would have on the economy,
Republicans praise the move During Turnesday's hearing on Capitol Hill.

The American people are fed up with the lawlessness at

Speaker 7 (01:41:00):
Senator John Cornan says that there are more than one
million illegal immigrants who remain in the country despite a
final court order for removal that he says is a
good place to start. In recent years, sanctuary cities have
become another focal point of the vorder crisis.
Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
Thankfully, they could all finally be coming to an end soon.
Speaker 10 (01:41:17):
It looks like the Trump administration has plans to crack
down on these cities.
Speaker 26 (01:41:21):
Trump Adman may be planning to try to cut off

I know it hurts right now to rotate those tires

it's so much cheaper if you want to make a car.
Speaker 7 (01:44:45):
Last car Pro says delaying routine maintenance will end up
causing more expensive repairs in the long run, and to
battle the Biden inflation, a new report says more people
this year are doing part time holiday gigs.
Speaker 20 (01:44:57):
The biggest concerns people talk about are the economy and
worries about their personal finances. University of Houston professor Stephen
Craig says, part of the worry is that the world
seems more uncertain today than in the past. But working
a side gig to pay for the holidays is smarter
than running up the credit cards.
Speaker 24 (01:45:16):
People have been talking about how great the economy is,
but you know, I mean, in the political season that
we just went through, one of the things that the
government's I'm thinking about very much in general is that
on average, people are a lot more nervous than it
used to be. You know, just the world is unsettled.
Speaker 20 (01:45:32):
But the fact that the retail industry needs seasonal workers
could indicate optimism about the economy a good thing, Professor

Is there like an actual Time magazine strictly online? At
this point You'll have to forgive me. The only time
I ever think of Time Magazine is when their Person
of the Year thing comes out so I can make
(01:46:32):
fun of it, and this is one of those times.
Tomorrow they will announce their person of the Year. We
have now the announcement of their finalist in alphabetical order.
They are number one on the list, Kamala Harris. Yes,
why would Kamala Harris be the Person of the Year?
(01:46:53):
For I don't know, first spectacularly losing her election, for
I don't have no idea. Kate Middleton, he is on
the list. The Princess of Wales, according to Time, made
international headlines this year and stirred a conversation about privacy
and health for public figures when she was hospitalized with
planned abdominal surgery hang on. She went to the hospital
(01:47:16):
and had surgery and therefore she's Times per Huh. Elon
Musk made the list. I can see where Elon. Actually
Elon has been named Times First of the Year before,
so I don't think I need to explain that one.
Here's what Julia no novel Neyach, she's a Russian economist,
(01:47:38):
has been in the spotlight this year after her husband,
in the country's leading dissident, died in February. She announced
that she would continue her husband's dissident work. So she's
she's a dissident. The people on the progressive left love dissidents,
so she's on the list. Benjamin Nettan Yahoo, the Prime
(01:48:00):
Minister of Israel. Jerome Powell, chairman of the US Federal Reserve.
And here here's one. Here's a Claudia Sinbaum, the Mexico President.
I don't think she's why she on the list anyway,
because she's the first woman president of Mexico. I guess
I guess that's we still consider that a big deal
to be the first woman to do something. Okay, And
(01:48:23):
finally one that I would suggest that oh, Donald Trump.
Guess Donald Trump did make the list. Remember with Time magazine,
doesn't matter if you're good or evil, it's whoever had
the most impact in the last year. With that in mind,
I kind of like the last choice here, Joe Rogan.
It was a big year for Joe Rogan. The Joe

Well they picked they picked Hitler back in the day,
so you know, I guess they would say, well, see
he is like Hitler.

He's on the Time making Time magazine.

Yeah, I think we can call this guy a vigilante.
I think that's safe to say. Luigi Mangeon here is
former FBI counter terrism expert Phil Mudd and forensic psychologist
Katherine Ransland to talk about the mindset of this guy.
Speaker 38 (01:54:27):
There's a couple of things you've got to look at here.
It means a lot to me. The first is if
you're trying to study this from an enforcement perspective or
from an intelligence perspective, This distrust of institutions, whether it's insurance,
whether it's the military, which twenty years ago you were
to said, everybody trust the military. People say there's too
much DEI in the military. Federal courts. People don't trust
(01:54:48):
the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is trying to institute
ethics reforms.
Speaker 22 (01:54:52):
The Supreme Court, really people don't trust them.
Speaker 38 (01:54:54):
They don't trust their school teacher, they don't trust anybody.
So the first is a universal view that you can't
trust an institution. The second is this sense of vigilante
justice in this country. And I would link this it
seems a bit bizarre to January sixth.
Speaker 22 (01:55:09):
That is, the government's not going to solve.
Speaker 28 (01:55:11):
This for me.
Speaker 22 (01:55:12):
The Congress is dysfunctional. It's on me to solve the problem.
Speaker 38 (01:55:15):
Whether it's a stolen election or whether it's an insurance
executive that doesn't care about me. It's on me, as
an American vigilante, to solve this problem. When you put
those two together, the universal belief that institutions don't serve
me in the sense that it's on me to solve that,
and a violence is okay, Chris, You're talking about hundreds
of thousands, millions of people who knew that.
Speaker 22 (01:55:36):
Whether it's about insurance or whether it's about the.
Speaker 38 (01:55:38):
Government, this is a crisis in this country about a
lack of respect for institutions and a belief fundamentally that
violence is okay.
Speaker 3 (01:55:47):
Chris.
Speaker 38 (01:55:48):
If you're going to go over a ledge to say
I want to murder a husband and a father, that
ledge requires an incredible emotional commitment this individual, I'd be
curious to see when he started to go down over
that ledge.
Speaker 40 (01:56:01):
Well, there were several points about the manifesto that stood
out to me.
Speaker 22 (01:56:05):
One is there's a narcissism.
Speaker 3 (01:56:07):
I did this.
Speaker 40 (01:56:08):
It was it was brilliant. I'm the only one who's
involved in this, and so he's kind of the smartest
guy in the room. But I thought it really lacked
from other manifestos I've looked at.
Speaker 22 (01:56:20):
It really lacked rage.
Speaker 40 (01:56:23):
There was anger, for sure, but there was chattiness in it.
There were just some odd references. I actually expected to
see more passion in it. So that's one of the
reasons I'm not sure that we've really seen the inside
of this guy's mind just by looking at these scribbled
pieces of paper. I think there's more to the story
(01:56:45):
that is going is yet to be seen.
