Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah. Don't you just love it when local government gets
involved in federal issues? Yeah? I do too. Seven twenty
two is their time here in Houston's Warning News. I
think that's also the opinion of the Parris County Precinct
three Commissioner Tom Ramsey, who doesn't think we have any
business suing the federal government over the fourteenth Amendment and
the birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens. Commissioner, I

(00:22):
don't mean to put words in your mouth, but you're
not supporting this lawsuit, are you? Oh?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Absolutely not, Jimmy. We've got enough issues in Harris County
to deal with without going to going to Washington and
injecting ourselves. We have nothing to offer to that conversation.
When you look at that birthright issue, I think it's
appropriate that President Trump put that on the table, had

(00:48):
the Supreme Court take a look at it because it's
obviously being abused. You got people setting up pope businesses
with come visit America for two weeks, have your baby,
and now they're a citizen. That's clearly an abuse and
needs to be looked at. And we don't have money
to waste in Harris County, So it's very disappointing to

(01:11):
see us get involved in that particular one to say
the least.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Well, we know the support of at least two individuals.
Is there enough votes to pass this? And if there
is enough votes to pass this, any idea what this
is going to cost Harris County taxpayers.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Don't know. Obviously, the county attorney has the ability to
go hire other attorneys to come out and help and
do different things. We had a conversation on the there
was a cord agenda item yesterday. This was discussed. I

(01:47):
of course did not support us getting involved in suing
the federal government. You know, if you look at our
record of suing the State of Texas in the last
two years, it's not very good. I think we're batting
about a thousand and losing every time. All we do
is waste money, waste's time, and we've really have other
issues in Harris County that needs to be dealt with.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
By the way, it's Harris County aturneing Christian Menafie and
Precinct two Commissioner Adrian Garcia, who wanted this lawsuit to
go on. All right, let's I want to talk to
you a little bit about Doge. I'm guessing you're probably
a fan of Doge. I certainly am. We're finding out
there's a story that has come out that not only
did the us ai D send millions of dollars to
political the state of Texas is spending hundreds of thousands

(02:32):
of dollars to liberal publications like the Dallas News, the
Houston Chronicle political and so we maybe need a state
Doge going on. And I'm kind of wondering, kind of
curious if we were to send Doge into Harris County,
what kind of ridiculous things would they find that we're
spending taxpayer dollars on in Harris County.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Well, I'm trying to spend effort and time and focus
on putting those kinds of issues on the table we
don't have time to talk about. For example, heart We're
spent ten million dollars over the last two years fifteen
thousand calls for mental health, but there weren't for mental health.
There is less than four percent for mental health. So, Jimmy,

(03:14):
there are case after case after case where we are
literally wasting money. Much like I think they're finding in Washington,
we got it in Harris County. We need to get
and I'll promise you I'll put a spotlight on as
much as that as I can find.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
And I promise you I will share all of that
information as you give it to us. I'll help you
shine the spotlight health. I'll throw a couple of batteries
in your spotlight.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Okay, all right, Well that'd be great, that'd be.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Great, all right, Commissioner, Always a pleasure, Thank you, sir.
