Our time here in Houston's Morning News, I'm Jimmy Barrett.
Among our top stories this f are, we have a
jailed teacher released by Russia. Elon gives up an economic
lesson from the Oval Office. And coming up at seven
o eight, speaking of teachers, we have another local teacher
arrested for an inappropriate relationship with the student. Details in
the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First, we're
(00:41):
checking out that morning drive again with Skyline.
Speaker 6 (00:42):
All right, this two eighty eight. Things starting to become
a thorn now North Founder. It's just a minor kurp
puffle on the inbound at maccart and that's we'll call
it a laft line. But look at these backups now
coming up from Broadway pair Land.
Speaker 7 (00:55):
Watch out for that.
Speaker 6 (00:56):
If you could do the Golf Freeway as an option,
that Golf has its usual scoot at the south foot.
Speaker 7 (01:00):
But we don't have the wreck here yet.
Speaker 6 (01:02):
We've got a north loop six to ten problem that
is westbound or Jacknife eighteen wheeler at Fulton and a
Jim from a Taska Sita.

HI today about seventy Current temperature is sixty six at
your official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty k TRH.
It's timed out with the news. Here's Cliff Saunders, Thank
you very much, Jimmy seven oh two.
Speaker 7 (01:46):
We're sponsored by shopis John Dear in our top story
more winning.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
I feel like the luckiest man on earth right now.
Speaker 7 (01:54):
That is Mark Fogel, the Pennsylvania teacher freed by Russia
after being held since twenty twenty one one on drug charges.
Speaker 9 (02:01):
It's President Trump who pushes these buttons and gets these
things done, but Mark also gave credit to President Putin.
Speaker 7 (02:08):
Trump's Special ENVOYE. Steve whitcomf on Fox and Friends moments ago,
the President says another American hostage held elsewhere will be
released today. Trump is also doubling down on DOGE.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
I want to wait out the corruption.
Speaker 7 (02:22):
And Elon mus says, the American people gave Trump a
mandate in November.
Speaker 10 (02:26):
It's not optional for us to sit to reduce the
federal expenses. It's essential. It's essential for America to remain
solvent as a country.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Trump signed an executive order requiring agencies to work with DOGE.
By the way, we now have a dose tracker up
online at ktih dot com. Seven oh three. Despite losing
in November, Democrats are trying to block Trump's agenda with
activist judges.
Speaker 11 (02:51):
Biden set them up for this strategy by appointing a
record number of radical judges.
Speaker 12 (02:55):
All of those judges, if you look at their backgrounds,
they are the most left wing partisan ideologue that have
ever gotten on the federal bench.
Speaker 11 (03:04):
Hawns von Spakovski with the Heritage Foundation says GOP senators
need to do a better job of calling these judges out.
Speaker 13 (03:10):
They pay lots of attention to who's nominated for the
Spring Court. They pay no attention to who's nominated for
the district court or trial court level judges.
Speaker 11 (03:20):
Spakovski says those are the judges doing the most damage
to Trump's agenda. Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 7 (03:26):
Taddie Elon's got a possible solution. Fire the worst one
percent of these activist judges. Every year.
Speaker 14 (03:33):
The elected body should be charged with signing us who
those one percent are. This would weed out most of
the corruption and the incompetence. It's a great idea. I
think some of those ideas to be fleshed out.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
A little bit.
Speaker 14 (03:45):
But what we're seeing right now is it's got to.
Speaker 7 (03:47):
Stop Matt Margolis with PJ Media. But Texas Congressmanship Roy
has another idea. How about Congress get involved.
Speaker 15 (03:54):
They're using and abusing you know, the Administrative Procedures Act
to say they can do whatever they want, and the
fact is they can't. And that's one of the things
Congressman need to take a look at Roy.
Speaker 7 (04:03):
On Fox last night. There are ideas and then there's action.
The administration appealed a Maryland federal judge's ruling blocking the
executive order ending birthright citizenship, in order backed up with
legislation by Republican Congressman Brian Babbitt of Texas.
Speaker 16 (04:19):
It does not eliminate birthright citizenship, it clarifies it.
Speaker 7 (04:23):
There have been nine lawsuits filed against that order so far.
It's now seven oh five. If the first three weeks
or any indication, Trump's second term might be even more
effective than his first.
Speaker 17 (04:35):
And he also gets applause from political strategists like Texas
own vlad Davidiok, who says the president has learned the
lessons of his first term in office and is now
working so fast it's not giving his critics time to
land any blows.
Speaker 18 (04:49):
President Trump's decisions to target DEI, illegal immigration, a trade imbalance,
all of these things are going to build a foundation.
Speaker 17 (04:59):
And that's foundation has built. The video says on the
expert team Trump has put together Michael Shiloh News Radio
seven forty Kright.
Speaker 7 (05:08):
Meantime, the mainstream media double standard shows no ending, but
they're now being called out by one of their own
on their own airwaves.
Speaker 19 (05:16):
When Joe Biden said I will stop at nothing when
he lost his student long case, CNN didn't say, I
wonder if he's laying the groundwork.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
To the Father Court.
Speaker 19 (05:22):
We treat Republican presidence different than we treat the.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
Democrat presidents, CNN's Brad Todd. The Washington Post Jonathan K.
Park recently admitted to the double standard, telling PBS that
Joe Biden's executive orders were quote meant to help people,
while Trump's are quote trying to destroy the government on
the international front. You may have noticed the Democrats don't
seem to care that much about Ukraine anymore. So what
(05:46):
gives was it always just a political game?
Speaker 20 (05:48):
The Democrats have used Ukraine as a weapon, They've used
it as a piggybank, and that I think has come
to an end. And that was a consequence of Trump's
stunning election victory.
Speaker 7 (05:59):
GOP consult Matt mccoveac. Now, the left did call Trump
out for not ending the war on day one the
way he said he would, but they've ignored it now
just to concentrate on Elon Musk and their doge meltdown.
Seven h six, Houston police looking for multiple suspects who
shot and stabbed a twelve year old, fifteen year old
and a man and an apartment complex in southeast Houston
(06:20):
last night. All three are expected to survive. Meantime, a
fifteen year old girl is shot during a robbery spree
on the West Side. Turns out she was part of
the group of four that were the actual criminals. They're
all in custody. Despite Houston's financial mess being nearly broke,
Heir John Whitmeyer releases the results of a citywide efficiency
(06:41):
study this morning at City Council after a recent Texas
Supreme Court ruling. Though the city's got a budget shortfall
of nearly three hundred and thirty million dollars.
Speaker 21 (06:50):
If it has been administration after administration that has overspent
and under delivered, truly, they passed budgets that were never
structurally balanced.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
More years, Hi, Donald John Trump?
Speaker 4 (07:14):
What happens next?
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Who knows what happens next? Happens here on Youth Radio
seven forty.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
KTRH seven eight Our time, here in Houston's barn News.
One thing to be hot for teachers, another thing for teacher,
be hot for you. And in recent years I have
(07:43):
been amazed at the amount of cases. And in fact,
I think there have been more cases of female students
or female I'm sorry, female teachers getting busy with male
students than there have been of male teachers getting busy
with female students. And I'm not quite sure what the
heck is going on. Here's another local case, another local
(08:08):
case of a teacher involved with an underage student. Here's
the report from our television partner, KPRC two.
Speaker 22 (08:16):
A former Barber's Hill High School teacher is out of
jail after being booked this morning, accused of having sex
with a student.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Molly Colleen Spears spent.
Speaker 22 (08:24):
A decade as an educator in Texas, but resigned in
twenty twenty three amid the allegations of an improper relationship.
KPRC two has been aware of the allegations against Spears
since the summer of that year, when Barber's Hill is
ISD confirmed that she had resigned. Court records show that
in June of twenty three, twenty twenty three, Spears is
accused of having sex and sexual contact with a student. Tonight,
(08:47):
howerd Bryce Newberry spoke with Barber's Hill parents, who said
the district never notified them about those allegations.
Speaker 23 (08:54):
You need to open up and need to be transparent
about these things because it's our students.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
It's your job, star job to protect them of the self.
Speaker 23 (09:01):
So you're about to protect them as well, and part
of that is being transparent, like, hey, there's an issue.
Speaker 22 (09:06):
Wespair's also taught in Cold Spring and Texas City. She
is free tonight on fifty thousand dollars bond. Barbers Hill
has still not responded to our request for comment.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Oh, there's so many things you can say about this.
First of all, barbers Hill, you can run, but you
cannot hide. Okay, it happened under your watch, and at
some point in time you're going to have to send
somebody up in front of the microphones to talk to
the press. I realized it is the greatest fear, especially
now of local public schools, is to have a microphone
(09:37):
on campus with somebody asking questions about something like this.
But all you do by sticking your head in the
sand is is you create more problems for yourself. The
other thing that I find very interesting about this, and
I'd love to know more. Is the student himself? Are
we talking about an eighteen year old high school senior?
Are we talking about a fifteen year old? A sixteen
(09:58):
year old? What do we talk talking about here? As
far as who she was having sex with? And I
thought maybe initially thought well, maybe, you know, not that
makes it any better. But but I thought, well, maybe
she's just like a twenty one year old, twenty two
year old just out of college, you know, novice teacher,
and you know she's with an eighteen year old student
(10:19):
in the age difference, isn't that great? She's been in
education for more than ten years, so she's at least
in her thirties. So so we need to, I think,
find out a little bit more about this. And Martin Party,
why does this keep happening? I don't get it? Seven eleven.
Let's get the traffic and weather together, Sky Michael, what's
going on in high school? Don't don't talk about when
I was in high school because you already know the answer.
Speaker 6 (10:41):
We had little old ladies with beehive hairdoos. So let's
I had an Idaho French teacher. In all fairness, I
had a pretty decent home teacher. Let's go to the
Forgotten Freeway two forty nine.
Speaker 7 (10:52):
What up, dude.
Speaker 24 (10:53):
This is Kurf and Tomball in southbound on the Forgotten
free Way. Boom, there's a two car accident right at
nineteen sixty.
Speaker 6 (11:01):
All right, Kirk from Tomball with his first banana sticker
this morning, we've still got that two eighty eight scoots northbound.
It's minor, it's maccharten, but it's just it's throwing a
devil in our wrench.
Speaker 7 (11:11):
Here.
Speaker 6 (11:12):
Watch out from Broadway Onmpaarland northbound.
Speaker 7 (11:15):
The toll bridge suckage is real.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
Southbound, we had a wreck at two twenty five on
the East sam right after the bridge, and that has
got to be a thirty five minute wait coming down
from Wallaceville.
Speaker 25 (11:25):
Let's skip over to six ten.
Speaker 6 (11:27):
If the Hartman Bridge is an option, do that you
could take the tunnel or my secret hack Wayside super
sized ninjas have now pulled that truck off the north
loop sixth ten that was westbound.
Speaker 7 (11:37):
The jackknife has gone.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
Here we go back to full speed reset the jackpot.
We're basted up now from Lockwood going westbound. I'm Skymike
and the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 5 (11:46):
From r KTRH top tax Defender's twenty four hour where
the center. Terry is here, and now that supposedly daylight
is starting to happen, I can see.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Chuckles, I can see just how ugly it is out there, Terry.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 26 (12:00):
Yeah, it's a very gray morning for sure. A couple
of sprinkles here and there. The cold front, though still
back to the west. More rain is on the way, folks,
eighty percent chance of view getting wet at some point
over the course of the morning and into the early afternoon.
I think that front should be making its way into
southeast Texas this afternoon, so maybe that'll push most of
(12:22):
the rain out of here for the evening drive. Temperature wise,
I don't think we're going to see a lot of
change in our overall temperatures generally upper sixties to low
seventies today.
Speaker 27 (12:32):
Tomorrow you will see a change.
Speaker 26 (12:34):
The clouds are gone, we're dry, and it's cold to
mid fifties Tomorrow.
Speaker 27 (12:39):
Friday, mid fifties to mid sixties.
Speaker 26 (12:42):
Another col front with showers and thunderstorms Saturday, another dose
of very cold air. Sunday looks like upper forties to
upper fifties for highs on Sunday right.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Down sixty six at your officials, Severe weather station, News
Radio seven forty KRH seven twenty three at a time
(13:15):
here in Houston Sporting News. Texas has has power needs
we have. We have power needs that we're not delivering
on right now, and we just continue to grow. At
some point we're gonna have to add more power that's
not winding solar. Andy Myers joins us Ford Ben County
Precinct three Commissioner and a believer in nuclear energy. You
worked with the governor on this issue. How close do
(13:36):
you think we are too seriously installing small nuclear reactors
here in Texas?
Speaker 28 (13:44):
Uh, well, thank you for having me on. I that's
a difficult question to answer. I think we're probably yell
six years away. There's a lot to be done. One
of the things that we're trying to do. I'm actually
on my way to Austin to talk to the co
(14:05):
chair of the Texas Nuclear Caucus right now to help
develop strategy with regard to how do we get legislation.
It's necessary to make certain that we have the opportunity
to invite a whole lot of researchers and developers in
advanced nuclear to Texas and get them started.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
And to be clear, I don't think you're not talking
about you know, three Mile Island. You're not talking about
these huge nucular reactors that many of which have existed
for you know, for thirty or forty or fifty or
more years. We're talking about relatively small nuclear reactors capable
of powering what like an entire neighborhood, for example, or
maybe an entire city.
Speaker 28 (14:48):
Well, yes, they're called small vault of reactors. I'm a
big proponent what they call multi as salt reactors. And
the reason I'm a proponent of that is because multa
salt reactors can generate about two to three times thermal
energy that the current pressure azed are light water reactors
(15:10):
as are called can generate.
Speaker 29 (15:12):
Those reactors are very large.
Speaker 28 (15:14):
We've got two of the Texas Wanted South Texas project
in Mountagorda County the other Commission PEAT. But our focus
is on small mod's reactors that can be grouped together
to be the size if you want to produce as
much electricity as one of the larger ones, or you
(15:34):
can have them small that operated for you know, one city,
or you can have microreactors that guitar, say the Houston Medical.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
Center, Andy. What's the biggest thing standing in the way
of something like this? Is it the concern that the
public still has over things like nuclear power and nuclear
waste or is it more the regulatory environment.
Speaker 28 (15:57):
Well, I think it's combinations things. Obviously, one of the
things that I served, as you pointed out to Texas
the Governor's Texas and Danced New Congractive Working Group. I
was policy co chair. That group was charged with coming
up on a plan to make Texas leader in developing
(16:18):
nuclear power. We're the leaping in all forms of energy,
the leader on in gas, where the leader in the
wind and the leader in solar. Wind and solar is
proven that they're not as reliable as we need.
Speaker 29 (16:31):
That's one of the reasons that I'm.
Speaker 28 (16:32):
A big component of nuclear is a very reliable based
load generator. And the effort that we have right now
is to get necessary legislation introduced so that we can incentivize,
so to speak, are make the road a little easier.
(16:55):
One of the things I introduced legislation in twenty three
legislative session UH to put Texas on that path become
the leader.
Speaker 16 (17:03):
UH and UH.
Speaker 28 (17:05):
One of the things that that we did we met
with the duple of the Regulatory Commission. They're in favor
of the effort. They just want to make certain that
these plans are going to be ultra safe, and I
totally agree with that.
Speaker 30 (17:18):
UH.
Speaker 31 (17:19):
One of the things that the.
Speaker 29 (17:22):
Chair of the working group, the Nuclear Working Group did
is he appointed me.
Speaker 28 (17:26):
That gave me the responsibility of coming up with a
marketing UH and education plan. So it's makes we educate
first of all, our legislators know what's going on, then
our local elected officials and the business comedies and ultimately
the population at whole.
Speaker 29 (17:43):
Right now, this is this country is about tat safety.
Speaker 28 (17:46):
About ety percent of favor of nuclear, about fifty percent
are opposed to and a lot of it has to
do with there's a lot of misinformation, misunderstanding UH out there,
and that's that's a big company.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Block we got to run because we're running over as
we usually do. But I want to thank you for
your time this morning and keep working on this and
keep us posting if you would, sir, hope to talk
to you again soon about this. For ben County Precinct
three Commissioner Andy Meyers, seven twenty eight. Time to take
a look at your money. Here's Denise Pellegrinny.
Speaker 32 (18:12):
Good morning to Jimmy.
Speaker 23 (18:14):
President Trump saying on Truth Social this morning, interest rates
should be cut by the Fed. He said that would
go hand in hand with upcoming tariffs. And he says,
let's rock and roll America. Stock futures They're not exactly
rocking and rolling right now. Dell futures down twenty three,
S and P futures Flatnesdak futures up thirty three. Crude
oil futures lower this morning. From the Fidelity Bloomberg Business Tesk.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
More of what's happening now from the John Morris Services Studios.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
It is seven thirty one Houston's Morning News. I'm Jimmy Barrett.
Among our top stories this half are unvaccinated kids is
at least partly the responsibility of the CDC. Just like Louisiana, Texas,
schools are getting back to the basics and coming up
at seven thirty eighth. The head of the Office of
Management and Budget is a big doge fan details and
(19:18):
the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's morning news. First, let's
check out that drive again. Here's sky Mike Katie Freeway.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
We just cleared a wreck at Barker Cypress on the
inbound solid wall of breaks from Graham Parkway. The rest
of the media now knows about this wreck on two
forty nine. You knew it ten minutes ago. Inbound nineteen sixty.
We'll check two left lines, big backups from Jones Road
forty five north.
Speaker 7 (19:39):
That's Roger from Magnolia.
Speaker 34 (19:41):
Good morning, Scott, Mike at the HOV thing Lubis nanchor
is still here, Boob. It's bad and people are still
trying to get on at West Road.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
Don't get on the AHOV all right, outstanding advice. I'm
in the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
From r KTRH Generator Supercenter, twenty four hour Weather Center. Showers,
maybe a thunderstorm this morning arable clowns. A shower kind
of dissipates the afternoon wears on HI today right about
seventy looks like we're getting a little most of us
getting a little break from the rain at the moment.
We'll get the latest from Terry Smith. She's keeping an
eye on the radar. We'll talk to her in eight
minutes at the Weather Channel. Right now, it's sixty six
(20:16):
at your official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty
k TRH. It's time now for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.
Speaker 7 (20:23):
Thank you very much, Jimmy. It is seven point thirty
two on KTRH. Top story your kids and the mainstream
media isn't attacking Trump, They're attacking Texas. We've heard about
an uptick in measles cases lately, and while the mainstream
media claims it's in unvaccinated children, they're not telling you
the whole story.
Speaker 35 (20:42):
For instance, why and one reason why the state's measles
vaccination rate has dropped since COVID.
Speaker 36 (20:50):
It says to me that trust has been broken and
pairents don't know who to look for for sound buying.
Speaker 35 (20:56):
That's Jackie Schlegel with Texans for Medical Freedom.
Speaker 37 (21:00):
The CDC is.
Speaker 36 (21:01):
Going to have to work to gain back the trust
on their science and their data, and I think that
starts with confirming Bobby Kennedy.
Speaker 35 (21:09):
By the way, the measles were considered eliminated by health
agencies in the year two thousand. Jeff Biggs News Radio
seven forty kt RED.
Speaker 7 (21:19):
And then there's what your kids are learning at school.
A return to basics helped our neighbors in Louisiana increase
their education rankings. Texas is following suit. Education expert Sherry
Sylvester says the tea has made reading a part of
all courses now, and our variety of options like charter
schools also helps Texas.
Speaker 30 (21:39):
We've got over five million kids in school.
Speaker 38 (21:42):
We've got lots of different strategies for educating kids and
getting back making sure that kids get the basic skills
they need to succeed and to move on to acquire
more skills.
Speaker 7 (21:54):
She says, Texas is not just improving, but a getting
ahead of the game. The state is also making moves
against woke education. State Rep. Brian Harrison files a bill
to block any taxpayer funds from going to the American
Library Association.
Speaker 39 (22:07):
I'm not cutting off funding to libraries in this bill.
I'm cutting off tax dollars from going to Marxist socialist organizations.
Speaker 7 (22:15):
Also in Austin the latest tax cut in terms of
property taxes unanimously passes out of committee in the Senate.
State Senator Paul Bettencourt says SB four would raise the
homestead exemption to one hundred and forty thousand dollars.
Speaker 40 (22:27):
That does provide a huge savings of three hundred and
sixty three dollars for the average homestead.
Speaker 7 (22:33):
The bill now goes to the full Senate seven thirty four.
Mass deportations continue, as do the arrests of those here illegally.
That includes three Trendy Iragua members arrested in Houston yesterday
allegedly involved in a multi state sex trafficking ring. Paul
Francis is getting involved in the deportation fight, running in
a letter that illegal aliens should not be treated as
(22:56):
quote criminals ord doers. Our Tom Homan responded, this.
Speaker 41 (23:00):
Is a lifelong cafe, a baptized tag are the first
communion is a cafe confirmation of cafelic. Do you all
to fix the Catholic Chersey contry on his work the
lead border.
Speaker 7 (23:09):
Force that does, and there's this. The daily average of
known gnaways illegals who cross the border without being caught
is down to one hundred and thirty two a day,
a ninety three percent drop from the highest numbers we
saw during the Biden years. Seven thirty five, a key
Trump Cabinet pick, Tulsi Gabbard, as DNI has said, for
a final confirmation vote in the Senate this morning, and
(23:31):
as the Democrat freak out over Doze continues, Republicans are
standing firm.
Speaker 42 (23:36):
We are executing on that mandate, and I'll tell you
what what we're doing is widely applauded by the American people.
Speaker 7 (23:42):
That is how Speaker Mike Johnson there. Seven thirty five,
We've got the new inflation numbers and they're not good,
So thanks Joe Biden. Prices rose by zero point five
percent in January. That's higher than expected, and the year
over year number is now up to three percent, well
above the that's goal of two percent. And it comes
as Jerome Powell tried to spend by the nomics for
(24:05):
the Senate Banking Committee yesterday.
Speaker 43 (24:07):
Inflation has moved much closer to our two percent longer
run goal, though it remains somewhat elevated.
Speaker 7 (24:13):
Powell will be back on Capitol Hill today. Dow futures
right now they just tumbled four hundred points. Lowering interest
rates hasn't helped mortgage rates. They're still near seven percent.
As buyers look for the sweet spot on when to buy.
Home buyers keep watching for interest rates to come back down. Meanwhile,
home prices are doing anything.
Speaker 44 (24:35):
But these rates are hanging in a sixth sixth and
not okay. But if we were looking at houses last year,
those same houses are a little more expensive now this year.
Speaker 45 (24:44):
Real estate advisor Ashley Massive he believes the days of
three or four percent interest on a thirty year loan
are gone, even with close to a seven percent interest
rate right now, Freddie max Show's home purchase applications have
increased slightly compared to a year ago.
Speaker 7 (24:59):
Eric Sharp News k t RH seven thirty seven. The
Texas electrical grid needs more power. We all know that,
and a Fort Ben County commissioner says new forms of
nuclear power are among the best ways to help. Andy
Meyer says he's working with the governor to start rolling
out newer, safer plants.
Speaker 28 (25:17):
We created a plan for the for Texas to follow
that we believe we'll put Texas in the lead among states.
Right now, we probably rank about sixth or seventh in
the United States among the thirty states and very active
in advanced nuclear.
Speaker 7 (25:32):
Myers just joined Jimmy a few moments ago here on
Houston's Morning News. We'll get that interview up online shortly.
I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's News, weather and Traffic station
k t RH.
Speaker 46 (25:42):
Michael Berry only endorses Texas Renters dot com for property
management needs.
Speaker 27 (25:47):
I live in Spring, I live in Katie.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
You're reliable forecast next on the ten on seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 5 (26:13):
So I was talking earlier this morning about this Doge tracker.
I saw that, you know, keeping track of the money
that Elon Musk is saving us through these Doge cuts.
A billion dollars coming out of the Education Department budget
yesterday alone. We have a Doze tracker now at KTRH
dot com. It's right on the front page. Just go
there and you can keep track as they continue to
(26:34):
make cuts of how much taxpayer money is being saved
by Doge. In the meantime, the Director of the Office
of Management and Budget, Russ Voight, who was the director
during the original Trump administration, has returned to directed in
this second administration. He's a big fan of Doge.
Speaker 47 (26:52):
We have a great partnership. He's a patriot. We talk
a lot, We stay in close coordination. He's doing what
every business owner would do in the country, which is
to get a handle on what their expenses. Every family
does that. They get a handle on their expenses, what
is discretionary, what is wasteful, and they take a stock
of it. And what we are finding is that there's
(27:13):
tremendous not only waste, but a lack of control in
our federal agencies where money just goes out the door.
And all that's been done thus far is a programmatic review.
All of that is what is being done is to
say we want to make sure that the contracts are
consistent with what the president ran on, and getting DEI
out of things, and making sure we don't have radical
(27:33):
gender ideology being pushed throughout the federal government. That is
what this administration that Doge is doing, and he's he
is having a tremendous impact, and Omb is very excited
about coming along beside him and making these cuts permanent
in the long term. And all we're trying to do,
Doge and Omb at the behest of the President, is
to get a handle on the waste, the inefficiency, the fraud,
(27:57):
and quite frankly, the degree to which these agencies have
been weaponized against the American people and the USA idea
is a perfect example of that in terms of wasting
our taskpayer dollars to not only go and push ideologies
that the host countries don't want, but to literally destabilize
their foreign policy.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
That's just common sense.
Speaker 7 (28:15):
Why would we spend a dollar on that money?
Speaker 47 (28:18):
And that's what we're going to see at each and
every agency that we look and turn two to get
a handle on.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
All right again, Russvelt, he's the head of the Office
of Management and Budgement seven forty time for traffic and
weather together. That's you, skuy Mike plus behalf of it.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
Well, let's do let's do some visoring here Katie Freeway.
We cleared the record Barker Cypress solid wall O breaks
now from Grant Parkway West Park to Way. Those slowdowns
start at South Parker Cypress Southwest Freeway, dragging it a
bit at ninety and once again when you get to
West Park two ninety ups some breaks at Eldridge and
two forty nine. You were the first to know about
(28:54):
that record nineteen sixty inbound, nothing but breaks from Jones Road.
Speaker 25 (28:58):
Now we have a second problem. Six to ten northwestbound.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
We cleared the truck at Irvington at Fulton and now
behind it there's an accident going that way again right
at the Hardy Toll Road.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
I've got I ten east truck or Tim.
Speaker 48 (29:11):
Mike dude rolling each bound out here between Winnie and Beaumont,
multiple bags of onion.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Onion.
Speaker 48 (29:18):
Somebody brings some beltepper and slry and some garnic.
Speaker 14 (29:21):
We're gonna make a dumbbot.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
There we go, and you're right in front of the
crawfish form too, So I just watch out for other
stations listeners swerving. Two eighty eight, we cleared the northbound
wreck at McCart Terry Smith.
Speaker 7 (29:32):
I have two thoughts here.
Speaker 6 (29:33):
I'm scheduled to fly for Channel eleven today for news,
so am I gonna be able to get up with
this weather? And number two my second thought, I need
you to not get in a high speed police chaser.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
I have to film you.
Speaker 25 (29:44):
I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
From our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four hour Weather Center. Well,
this is the good news story. We've gone from mostly
fugly to partly ugly, which is at least an improvement
this morning.
Speaker 27 (29:58):
And I think we'll continue to improve.
Speaker 26 (30:00):
And if I do get into a high speed police chase,
please do film me I because I won't believe it
unless I see it. And will you be able to
fly depends on the visibility and the sun. Okay, so sure,
exactly it's a ceiling issue. You are correct about that,
and I have not looked to see, but we shall see.
(30:22):
I'm going to hold off on any predictions. I do
think we'll see more rain, an eighty percent chance of
those showers and thunderstorms until the front moves through. I
don't think it's going to be off the coast until
perhaps sometime tonight. So temperatures, clouds are hanging around, temperatures
upper sixties to low seventies.
Speaker 27 (30:40):
It's gonna be chilly.
Speaker 26 (30:41):
Tonight down into the forties. And Tomorrow's a cold day,
sunny load to mid fifties. Friday's only somewhat warmer, mid
fifties to mid sixties. Friday, another round of rain Saturday,
another dose of cold air Sunday.
Speaker 27 (30:56):
Lots of changes in our weather.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
Temperature right now, sixty seven at your official severe weather station,
news Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
What you need to know for the day ahead.
Speaker 46 (31:08):
This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
So we have a new outbreak of measles here in Texas.
Who's to blame for this? Is it the anti vaccine crowd?
Is it people having less confidence than the CDC? Is
it undocumented illegals who maybe were never vaccinated. More than
that story coming up next. First, we've got traffic and
weather together shutting with you. Skuy Mike, please do.
Speaker 6 (31:30):
I've got two forty nine arec clear nineteen sixty Golf
Freeway a stall before the loop and you've cleared it
at Barker Cypress Ktie Freeway backed up from Graham Parkway.
I'm SKYMIKEE and the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center from.
Speaker 5 (31:43):
Our KTRH Generator super Center twenty four aur Weather Center. Showers,
maybe a thundershower this morning, variable cloud showers diminishes the
day works on seventy four today part of the cloudy
colder fifty four tomorrow. Right now sixty seven at your
official severe weather station, news Radio seven forty KTRH stick
out some of our top stories.
Speaker 7 (32:01):

Texas Stock Exchange in Dallas, and an online petition launched

the very latest.
Speaker 30 (32:28):
All of this will change starting today on.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
The radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 29 (32:37):
There was a day when the bleazo struck.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
OUCH seven fifty three our time here in Houston's Warning News.
We used to laugh about the measles. It's not really
a laughing matter anymore. We'd bet brother, our kids don't
get it. Jackie Schleichel joins US Texans for Medical Freedom.
I mentioned some possible cause is why measles might be
on the rise. You know, undocumented immigrants who have didn't
(33:06):
get vaccinated. People, you know, the anti vaccine crowd, people
who don't trust the CDCs. It's some of the above,
none of the above.
Speaker 37 (33:14):
What do you think, Well, good morning, you know, I
do think at the end of the day, these things
do happen, and I trust our local medical professionals, our doctors,
and our parents to come together and to have these
discussions and then make the medical decisions for our children.
(33:34):
I do not believe that this is the role of
the CDC or anybody else. We've got to be having
these conversations in our doctor's offices and making the best
decision for our children.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (33:44):
I think the CDC had a lot of obviously bad
public relations as a related to COVID. They destroyed their
credibility with a lot of people.
Speaker 37 (33:53):
Oh one thousand percent, we were, you know, masking two
year old children. They told us masks don't work. They
do work. Everybody needs them.
Speaker 30 (34:03):
You know.
Speaker 37 (34:03):
There were so many things the shutdowns. People lost their livelihood,
their careers. And I absolutely think we are at a
turning point right now where parents and the American people
are saying, hey, you know, is the information they are
putting out there is a actorate Can I trust them?
I think the trust has been broken. I don't know
(34:25):
that that can be easily undone.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
Yeah, vaccines for measles and moms and jold their diseases
have been around for a long long time.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Do you have any concerns over them?
Speaker 37 (34:35):
Look, what I have concerns of is the seventy eight
doses of vaccines. And I think that's what most parents are.
If you listen to what RFK Junior saying, you're saying,
I'm not anti vaccine. What I want is parents who
have access to clear science that's free from conflict and interests,
(34:57):
that you know is sound. And I want parents to
have a choice. They want to go into their doctors'
offices and they don't want to be bullied. They don't
want to be mandated. They are smarter than that. They
can make the best decisions for their children. And I
think at the end of the day, we know mandates
do not work. So I stand with Texans who want
(35:19):
to make informed medical decisions for their children.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
Be old enough to remember measles parties, Jackie, I am
when when parents used to get kids with measles together
with other kids to get the thing over and done with.
Speaker 37 (35:33):
I think my generation was more along the lines of
the chicken pox parties. I don't remember any measles parties,
and you know, I just think again, coming back to parents,
need to be having these conversations with their doctors. The
mandates don't work. Parents can make the best decision for
their children when they have access to clear, biased science. Science,
(35:56):
and I stand with President Trump R. K. Junior saying
that's the direction we need to go. We are on
a path to make America healthy again. That starts with
informed consent. Informed consent is the risk and the benefits
in the ability to choose without consequence. This is incredibly
(36:20):
important if you are being forced, if you are being bullied,
if you are being pushed and backed into a corner
where you feel like you don't have a choice, that
is not informed consent, and it.
Speaker 44 (36:31):
Does not work.
Speaker 37 (36:32):
And we saw that with COVID.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
I agree, Jackie, thank you so much for Johnny's today.
Do appreciate it. Texans for medical freedom. Jackie Schlegel, y'all
have a great day. See tomorrow morning bright nearly five am.
I'll see the staffroom before, I hope. On AM nine
fifty KPRC is use Radio seven kt RH Houston everywhere
(36:55):
Now the latest newsweather, it's more of.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
What matter to you.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
From the John Morris Services Studios.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
Six am is our time here in Houston's Morning News.
I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories this have are
a jailed teacher released by Russia. Elon gives us an
economics lesson from the Oval Office. In coming up at
six o' eight, Papa John's Beth Bomb. It'll make you
smell like garlic, pizza sauce. Details in the minutes a
head here in Houston's Morning News. First, we're checking out
(37:25):
that morning drive again. Here's sky Mike.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
All right, looks like I wreck with the eighteen wheeler
south of Cleveland. That's Splendor of twenty ninety. Looks like
they've opened the southbound lanes. I've got a left lane
closed on the northbound. It's still quite a squish if
you're trying to leave town and try to get up
to the Stix North Gloop six ' ten westbound, that's
a jackknife eighteen wheeler. We're not as lucky here. Two
(37:48):
left lanes blocked at Fulton. This is westbound. It's nothing
but breaks from the east text. Unless you're hazardous, go
ahead and take the Katie Freeway instead. I'm Skymichael on
the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center from KTRH. Top
tax defenders twenty four hour Weather Center for today. Showers
may be a thundershower this morning, rebel clouds and shower
chants this afternoon, but they will taper office today progresses
(38:10):
HI today right about seventy. We'll get you the complete
forecast when we talk to Terry Smith of the Weather
Channel in nine minutes right now, sixty three, make that
sixty four at your official severe weather station, News Radio
seven forty k TRH. It's time now for the news.
Here's Cliff Saunders.
Speaker 7 (38:27):
Thank you, Jimmy. We are sponsored by All Star Construction.
It's six oh one our top story.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
I am not a hero in this at all. President
Trump is a hero.
Speaker 7 (38:36):
And as President Donald Trump securing the release of Pennsylvania
teacher Mark Fogel after four years of captivity in Russia,
and apparently there's more coming. Trump said that another American
being held prisoner elsewhere will be released today. The President
and Elon Musk also defending dose from Democrat attacks.
Speaker 10 (38:56):
If the bureaucray season charged and what meaning does democracy
actually have?
Speaker 7 (39:01):
Elon in the Oval office yesterday? And Trump says he's
got a mandate to follow through on he.
Speaker 50 (39:06):
Got elected to look over the country and to as
we say, make America great again.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
But you don't have the right to go and look
and see whether or not things are right that they're paying.
Speaker 7 (39:16):
So he signed an executive order requiring agencies to work
with DOJE six ZO two. Trump making that move because
of Democrat law there being used against him. So how
does he overcome that and the activist judges lined up
against him?
Speaker 13 (39:31):
Hopefully what will happen is that the most important cases
will eventually get overturned by the US Supreme Court.
Speaker 7 (39:39):
I think we will see that, as von Spakovski with
the Heritage Foundation, but that's going to take a long time. Meantime,
there are other ideas being floated out there to take
care of this problem and leave.
Speaker 35 (39:52):
It to Elon Musk to come up with a plan
to get rid of these activist judges.
Speaker 14 (39:57):
He's suggesting that the worst one percent of judg judges
should be fired every year.
Speaker 35 (40:02):
That's Matt Margolis, columnist for PGA Media.
Speaker 14 (40:06):
You know we have a judge now, is basically saying
that the executive branch can't do the work of the
executive branch, and that's just insane.
Speaker 35 (40:13):
He's not sure if Musk's plan will happen but like
a lot of things in Washington, the lawfair needs to stop.
Jeff Biggs, News Radio seven forty, Kat Reichs and.
Speaker 7 (40:25):
Jeff while Elon's suggesting that others are calling for Congress
to get involved.
Speaker 15 (40:29):
Congress, by the way, we need to make his executive
orders permanent. We need to pass laws to back up
his agenda.
Speaker 7 (40:34):
Texas Congressmanship Roy on Fox There, those are just ideas.
The White House is actually taking action. They have appealed
the ruling by a Maryland federal judge to block Trump's
birthright citizenship order.
Speaker 51 (40:47):
We are not going to allow rogue bureaucrats in this
city to obstruct the will of the American people.
Speaker 7 (40:54):
Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt. There have been nine lawsuits filed
against that one order, and we'll have more on the
efforts to secure the border and the mass deportation effort
at six thirty six zero four. The President has been
moving so fast it's even making political consultants. Had spin
strategist lad Davidyick says he's amazed at the efficiency with
(41:16):
which a Trump team has been acting, so he obviously
learned from his first term in office.
Speaker 18 (41:21):
President Trump has a lot of experience that he's learned
from the lessons of his first term, so he has
the experience he needs to navigate the bureaucracy of the
federal government, which allows him for more effective government.
Speaker 7 (41:34):
One of the reasons his second term could be better
than his first. But there is a downside another blatant
media double standard on display in the latest attacks on Trump.
Speaker 52 (41:45):
Washington Post an MSNBC reporter Jonthan k Pardt, appearing on PDS,
defended the outrage over President Trump's executive orders to cut
government waste, even as he was challenged over President Biden's
executive actions on student loans.
Speaker 53 (41:57):
Donald Trump is destroying President Iden pushed the limits of
executive action, but to the benefit of people who were
drowning in student debt. He did it in order to
help people, not to destroy the government.
Speaker 52 (42:10):
Even a CNN analyst said there's nothing unusual about what
Trump is doing, noting that President's taking executive action and
being challenged in court is quote as old as the presidency.
Cory Yolson, who's radio seven forty KTRH, You know what you.
Speaker 7 (42:21):
Haven't heard about in a while? Ukraine democrats always took
Trump to task for it, especially for not ending the
war on day one, but that's faded away and they
may have accepted that it's not just a winning talking point.
Speaker 20 (42:34):
It's pretty clear the American public doesn't want to continue
to see Ukraine get funded the way it has in
the last few years. So I think public opinion has shifted,
and Trump has played a significant role in the shifting
of public opinion on that issue.
Speaker 7 (42:46):
Republican strategist Met mcovey x as Democrats have now moved
on to dose because Americans are just over Ukraine. Six
ZHO six more crime in uston his HPD is looking
for multiple suspects who shot and stabbed a twelve year old,
fifteen year old and a man at an apartment complex
in southeast Houston last night. All three are expected to survive.
(43:08):
HPD is also looking into a deadly shooting on the
Southeast Side after a man shot and killed his father,
claiming self defense, and in Cyprus, the investigation continues after
a man shot and killed another man that was following him.
Despite Houston's financial crisis, Mayor John Whitmeyer releases the results
of a citywide efficiency study at city Council today. This
(43:31):
comes after the State Supreme Court ruling a couple of
weeks ago that increased the budget deficit to three hundred
and thirty million dollars, something officials like to or rather
let get out of control.
Speaker 21 (43:42):
Last year during the budget cycle, council members asked to
the budget director, are you guys setting aside money for
this potential one hundred million dollar settlement?
Speaker 1 (43:50):
And they said no.
Speaker 7 (43:51):
Charles Blaine with urban reform there six h seven, the
Houston Rockets host the Phoenix Suns tonight. Pregame starts at
six thirty on Sports Talk seven to ninety. I'm Clff
Saunders on Houston's news, weather and traffic station kat R H.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett.
Speaker 31 (44:11):
Oh, Godlick is a four Lovers.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
That's one of myadles.
Speaker 31 (44:23):
She's a nice sana sweet the girl who eats till
it's oo.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
Saying how are you polls.
Speaker 31 (44:34):
In a to fake or Framley in tweenkisubos, godlick is
four Lovers?
Speaker 7 (44:49):
I got mine?
Speaker 2 (44:51):
Have you got your old.
Speaker 4 (44:54):
Six of eighties? Our time?
Speaker 5 (44:56):
This guy definitely would want to order one of these things.
If you believe garlic is for lovers and you are
a garlic lover and My wife is a garlic lover.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
She's Sicilian. I don't know why I say that, because
it's not just Sicilians. The like garlic.
Speaker 5 (45:09):
And I'm not blaming the fact that she has Sicilian
on her loving garlic, although it might have something to
do with it. The woman loves garlic. She'll just eat
garlic clothes and that's not a problem. I like garlic too,
so I'll have a little garlic. It's not like we're
going to offend each other. The problem with her is
is that when she eats a lot of garlic, it
kind of metastasizes. The next morning she smells like bleach.
(45:34):
How does that do that? It's a bleachy smell. Anyway,
if you like the smell of garlic, Papa John's has
something you might want to be aware of, but you
have to be a really, really big garlic lover. They
are producing a limited edition, available only online, bath Bomb,
(45:57):
which smells or will make you smell like their garlic sauce,
their garlic pizza sauce. You put the bath Bomb in
the bath and you soak yourself in it, and before
you know what, you smell like the garlic sauce on
a Papa John's Pizza, the pizza chain announcing yesterday that
they are taking their special garlic dipping sauce to the
(46:19):
next level in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday.
Is an award to its fans, The restaurant chain has
created a limited addition bath bomb, inspired by the buttery
garlic sauce that comes with every pizza order. Papa John's
inspired to create the unique product by a series of
increasingly unhinged social media posts of people who are writing
I could bathe in their garlic sauce, or if I
(46:42):
were to buy enough garlic sauce to bathe in, it'd
be four hundred and seventy five dollars. So they thought, Okay,
there's some people out there who really like it. I
guess let's make something they can bathe in, and they
have case. You have to go to the Papa John's
website if you want to see if you can get
your hands on the stuff.
Speaker 4 (46:57):
Good luck.
Speaker 5 (46:58):
You have to prove yourself to be a super lover
of their garlic sauce to qualify six ten tyber traffic
and weather together. They have a friend with a Sicilian wife.
Speaker 6 (47:07):
Why is that sir, Well, if Cliff gets on my nerves,
then Elizabeth can have somebody take care of him.
Speaker 5 (47:11):
Yep, I'm sure you could. She always knows somebody that
has a Ford Ltd. Or a similar car that has
a very large trunk making offer. They like big trunks.
They cannot lie.
Speaker 1 (47:21):
I don't know what they're doing with that.
Speaker 25 (47:22):
Let's go with the North Loop six ten.
Speaker 7 (47:24):
Jimmy Barrett.
Speaker 6 (47:25):
It's north Loop six ten westbound at Fulton and I
got caught in this myself, which is good. I need
to feel your pain. One, two, three, right lanes are open.
That's a pretty good squish coming over from the east.
Speaker 31 (47:36):
Text.
Speaker 25 (47:36):
It was an eighteen wheeler Jackknife.
Speaker 6 (47:37):
Looks like everybody's okay, go ahead and take im to
Katie Freeway and get around this business. Unless you're hazardous Terry,
then you have to get on the South Loop six ten.
Speaker 25 (47:47):
We've got some big trouble in Splendora up in the sticks.
I sixty nine. I got Robert from Cleveland.
Speaker 6 (47:53):
That's a jackknife eighteen wheeler and at one point it
was blocking lanes both ways.
Speaker 48 (47:57):
Robert the south ound side, it is fine. All lanes
are open and northbound White Lane is open.
Speaker 7 (48:04):
All right, we'll call that a left lane.
Speaker 6 (48:05):
And I'm seeing a squish on the digital Sarah got
a little bit of that listening on the free iHeartRadio app.
You could take us anywhere in the world. Here's Ray
from Conrod.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
Hey guy, Mike, it's.
Speaker 34 (48:15):
Roughly forty degrees up here in the DFW area, rain
and all kinds of major uba stankery boom Terry.
Speaker 6 (48:24):
That's your word for the weather this morning, Generator Supercenter,
dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 7 (48:28):
Come on, huba stink stanker stankory.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
Yeah, do it all three ways, uber stink with stunk
oh oh yeah.
Speaker 7 (48:35):
The forums English smer uber.
Speaker 27 (48:37):
Stank, uber stank, uber stinkd.
Speaker 4 (48:42):
On stinkd.
Speaker 27 (48:45):
I uber stank you uber stank.
Speaker 5 (48:48):
Terry Smith is creating our own vocabulary this morning from
our kd RH dot Tax Defenders twenty four hour weather Center. Yeah,
it's it's not a fun drive for anybody in Texas
this morning. I'm not thinking probably not. I mean, we
had white a bit of rain actually overnight. Now I'm
not seeing a whole lot of wet weather at the moment.
Speaker 26 (49:05):
Some showers around Galveston Bay over toward League City up
near the Woodlands and Conroe as well. But the cold
front's still north of us, and as it gets closer,
we're going to see an increase in the showers and
maybe a few rumbles of thunder as well. We're gonna

(50:18):
But you know, there's some things that that Elon Musk
is trying to do, and he's not getting cooperation on
one of those things his activist judges. Elon Musk would
really like to see us get rid of activist judges.
There's an Obama or a judge that's preventing him or
even the Treasury Secretary from accessing information about the Treasury Department.
Speaker 4 (50:39):
How can you do that?
Speaker 5 (50:41):
Jared Woodfield, attorney and president of Conservative Republicans of Texas,
will join us to talk about that. Next first though,

Speaker 5 (52:40):
Judge during an executioner of the Doge program, I guess
that's what this guy thinks. He is federal judge Obama
era appointee, basically saying that, and he's not the only
activist judge who ruled this way, but basically saying that,
not only does Elon must not have the right to
look inside the treasury books and see where the money's going,
(53:00):
the Treasury Secretary doesn't either. What Jared Woodfield joins, US
attorney and president of Conservative Republicans of Texas.
Speaker 4 (53:08):
What in the world is this judge thinking.
Speaker 32 (53:11):
Well, Jimmy, it's great to be with you this morning,
but he's not thinking and really what it is. It's
obviously another form of lawfare.
Speaker 50 (53:17):
We saw this all throughout the election, where they did
everything they could through lawsuits and activist judges to try
to prevent President Trump from becoming president. That was not successful,
and so now they've taken it to another level. They're
using activist judges to try to prevent President Trump from
implementing his agenda.
Speaker 32 (53:35):
And it's exactly what you said.
Speaker 50 (53:37):
I mean, DOGE can't access essential data on federal payments.
The Treasury Department can't access data that it manages, our
data manage by its agency.
Speaker 29 (53:47):
So think about it like this.
Speaker 32 (53:49):
The Secretary of Treasury, who leads the Treasury Department can't
even look at the payments that are being made or
investigate payments being made by his own agency.
Speaker 50 (53:57):
Imagine the CEO of a private company not being able
to look at the books. And that's effectively what this
federal judge is doing, preventing the CEO or the Secretary
of Treasury from look at payments being made, for ripping
Doge from looking payment at payments that are being made.
Speaker 32 (54:13):
It's outrageous.
Speaker 5 (54:14):
Mike, My guess is he is this judge understands as
well as anybody else. I mean, he's not an idiot.
He may be an ideologue, but he's not an idiots.
I'm sure he would understand this would not probably pass
muster as it continues up the track. This is just
about delaying the process, right, that's exactly right.
Speaker 32 (54:30):
I mean, he knows ultimately that it's going to be overturned.
Speaker 50 (54:32):
And what makes it even more egregious is that he
did it ex partey, meaning he did it without the
other side being present. The Justice Department or the administration
was not present when the primari injunction was actually signed.
So now we have to go back and ultimately it
will be overturned. But look at the amazing things that
(54:54):
Musk is discovering. I mean, we found that there none
of these payments are being categorized, these titlement payments and
payments that are being made by the federal government.
Speaker 32 (55:03):
He's identified one.
Speaker 50 (55:04):
Hundred billion dollars a year being paid to individuals without
Social Security numbers. He's identified terrorist fronts that are getting
paid from our government, folks that are.
Speaker 32 (55:14):
On that do not pay lists, who are actually being paid.
And so he's he's effectively getting results.
Speaker 50 (55:21):
And the left doesn't like what he's discovered uncovering, so
they're using the judicial process to try to stop good
government from happening.
Speaker 5 (55:28):
Now Elon must put out this this this tweet on
X I'd like to propose that the worst one percent
of appointed judges, is determined by elected bodies, be fired
every year. I'm not sure which elected bodies he's talking about,
but it sure would be nice to be able to
fire people that just are either working against the law
(55:49):
or are complete activists. They're not working in any sort
of a bipartisan manner. They're just complete ideologues are passing
laws or rulings just based on what they want politically
to happen.
Speaker 50 (56:02):
Well, that's exactly right when the judiciary is politicized, when
it's used as a weapon to go after your political opponents,
or as an ideological branch of government to stop good
government from occurring, or government that's inconsistent with the will
the people from.
Speaker 32 (56:17):
Recurring, just based on politics. And those judges need to go.
Speaker 50 (56:21):
I mean, I know it's been they're talking right now
about creating a subcommittee on the Judiciary Committee in the
US House that investigates these judges. And we saw the
abuse occurring for the past three to four years with
respect to the law fair that was directed towards President Trump,
and that's no different than what's happening now. They're using
lawfare in an effort to stop President Trump from implementing
(56:43):
his agenda.
Speaker 5 (56:44):
All right, Jared, always a pleasure, Thank you. That's Attorney
and President of Conservative Republicans of Texas. Jared woodfilld. Six

He says the ALA has gone completely woke under their
recent left wing president.
Speaker 39 (01:00:26):
She wants libraries, in her own word, to become politically

most anti parent, anti Texas organizations.
Speaker 11 (01:00:35):
Representative Harrison says, Texans shouldn't have to pay for organizations
that oppose their values.
Speaker 39 (01:00:40):
We should be leading a fight against taxpayer funded indoctrination
and against dangerous Marxism and socialism. We sure as hell
should not be subsidizing it.
Speaker 11 (01:00:49):
Harrison says, if the Texas House is serious about being conservative,
they should pass this bill. Ethan Buchanan News radio seven
forty KTRH and you may have heard about Horizon measles
cases across Texas. But while the media blames it on
unvaccinated children, they ignore the fact that many parents just
don't trust the government or the CDC.
Speaker 36 (01:01:07):
I don't know that this trust can easily be regained.
Just look what we did to our children. We masked
up two year olds. None of that was based on bias,
and parents are really fed up. They're looking at the
entire roating system.
Speaker 7 (01:01:24):
Jackie Schlegel with Texans for Medical Freedom says President Trump
is trying to restore that trust, and a big step
will be confirming Robert F. Kennedy Junior. It's now six

can't have a wrong around in the United States. So
I wish he'd stick to the Catholic Church and fix
that and leave Border Force with us.
Speaker 7 (01:02:13):
Holman also told reporters that he's not quote satisfied with
the number of ICE arrests so far. In fact, to
ICE officials reportedly were reassigned for not meeting deportation goals.
It's now six thirty five. Trump's pick is DNI Tulsey.
Gabbard faces a final Senate confirmation vote this morning after
more Democratic delay tactics. By the way, a snowstorm also
(01:02:37):
prevented the vote from going down last night, and we're
also watching to see if Robert F. Kennedy Junior's nomination
as HHS Secretary is advanced out of committee today. Democrats
continue to complain about DOGE because they're wasteful. Spending has
simply been exposed.
Speaker 17 (01:02:53):
Everyone knows there's waste in government and should be cut.
Speaker 7 (01:02:56):
But DOGE is using a meat axe cutting things that
are efficient and effective. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, you
will hear from Trump and Elon at seven. After Trump
assigned an executive order requiring federal agencies to work with Musk. Yesterday,
there's even more waste exposed an investigation by the Media
Research Center showing that a George Soros backed censorship outfit
(01:03:21):

Speaker 43 (01:03:52):
The economy is strong overall and has made significant progress
toward our goals over the past two years.
Speaker 7 (01:03:58):
But inflation is still well a of his goal of
two percent. Mortgage interest rates are down in the sixes,
but home buyers are still waiting to see how long
they will go before buying. Real estate advisor Ashley Massey
says while buyers weight prices rise, we're never.
Speaker 44 (01:04:14):
Going to see them back in the three is if
we do there's some existential crisis happening around US.
Speaker 7 (01:04:22):

or not when it comes to energy nuclear energy, to

Speaker 17 (01:04:35):

new plans to start building the next generation of plants

Speaker 4 (01:05:40):
When I give while Pilzaba seven two so wild.
Speaker 5 (01:05:45):
Many other companies can, and the list is very long
of companies who are back off on their DEI policies.
Down at the Trump administration is in charge. Costco is
one of those companies that is doubling down. And maybe
one of the reasons why the executives at Costco is
so firmly behind it is there's a financial incentive for
them to enact these DEI policies. In fact, over the
(01:06:06):
course the last three or four years, a couple of
their executives have made over two hundred thousand dollars in
bonuses for meeting their DEI goals. They were talking about
this on The Big Money Show on Fox Business. It's
so picky, so so picky. Let me try one more time,
Big Money Show on Fox Business to throw a.

Speaker 44 (01:06:34):
What is your fasher.
Speaker 56 (01:06:36):
Responsibility of the corporation when you're just handing money out
for some goal that makes no sense to Kevin's point,
what exactly is the goal here to have that you want?
Fourteen or sixteen percent Blacks, nineteen percent Hispanics, two point
three percent Asian, so many Caucasies.
Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
I mean, what's the This is the ridiculous nature of
this and what does it advance?
Speaker 56 (01:06:58):
It also breaks up a common when you've got employees
who are questioning other employees because people do still talk
at the water cooler or whatever. It's like, why did
you get your job? I mean, do you really want
to be that person that gets a DEI hire?
Speaker 17 (01:07:13):
Well?
Speaker 57 (01:07:13):
The problem I have with it too is that it's
become so systemic in some of these organizations, they're now
financial incentives. So the fact that certain people are getting
bonuses if they hit their DEI metrics, or that the
CEO in twenty twenty three, according to a proxy statement,
got one hundred grand for achieving the necessary goals. Is
he doing it because he's doing the right thing for
the business and his fiduciary duty or is he doing
(01:07:35):
it because he just got a check for one hundred
thousand dollars. I will say this, even if it's not
like it was at Target or the advertising with bud
Light where it's like boldly in your face and really
offensive to most people, even if it's just within the
culture and the hiring practices. When people start reading about
that and hearing about it, people who are, you know,
(01:07:56):
on the right of the center, they're going to say
this is not okay. Will they put their discounts before
their ideals or vice versa. I think some people will
say I'm just not going to shop there.
Speaker 5 (01:08:08):
Well, and just like some people say they won't shop
if if you're talking about the company it's done away
of their DEI. Target is one of those companies, and
they're facing a protest from a Georgia based religious group,
the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Their founder is and
senior pastor has organized what he calls a forty day
economic fast against Target, calling on one hundred thousand black
(01:08:30):
con zimmers to all purchases into best stockholdings in response
to the company rolling back their DEI programs. So it's
kind of gotten where you have to pick a side,
right who you can do business with? Are you going
to do business with people who have beliefs similar to
yours or are you going to ignore those beliefs?
Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
All right? Todd for traffic and weather together.
Speaker 25 (01:08:50):
What was the name of that church?
Speaker 5 (01:08:51):

I want to go here there and I want to
go there to get preached at. I want to go
there and hear them play the organ. Something tells me
it sounds good. Let's go to two eighty eight.

So there's a new task force coming join veiled Government secrets. Wow,
I bet that the deep state has got to be
freaking out over this one. Representative James Comer announcing that
Anna Paulina Luna, the representative from Florida, will be heading
it up. Here is their press conference from yesterday, at
least a part of it.
Speaker 7 (01:14:25):
Thank you all for being here.
Speaker 49 (01:14:27):
Today is a great day for transparency in America because
today I'm proud to announce the creation of the Task
Force on the Declassification.
Speaker 4 (01:14:37):
Of Federal Secrets.
Speaker 49 (01:14:38):
This task force will be a part of the House
Oversight Committee and led by the very talented and persistent
Congresswoman from Florida and A. Paulina Luna. During her time
on the Oversight Committee, Representive Luna is a sledgehammer against
government secrecy. She is committed to throw and open the
windows for the American people to allow the sunlight of
(01:14:59):
truth sean on the federal government.
Speaker 51 (01:15:01):
When our founding fathers stood against tyranny, they did not
merely oppose taxes. They defended the sacred idea of individual sovereignty.
They declared that no government agency or title could infringe
upon the freedoms of speech, religion, thought, and the pursuit
of truth. For too long, the American spirit has been
dimmed by veil's secrecy, by a government that has grown
(01:15:22):
too comfortable in the shadows, denying us the transparency we deserve.
But today we stand at the dawn of a new
era where the light of truth begins to shine through.
A few weeks ago, President Donald Trump made a historic
announcement with the stroke of a pen. He committed to
declassifying the files concerning the assassinations of President John F.
Speaker 25 (01:15:42):
Kennedy, Robert F.
Speaker 51 (01:15:44):
Kennedy, and doctor Martin Luther King Junior, a decision not
just monumental.
Speaker 30 (01:15:48):
But pivotal.
Speaker 51 (01:15:50):
It is with profound honor that I have been entrusted
by Speaker Mike Johnson and Chairman James Comer to lead
the House Force or at the House Oversight Task Force
on Declassification of Federal secret Together with the help of
the White House, our intelligence allies, the Department of Defense,
the Department of Justice, we'll be conducting investigations into the
following the assassinations of JFK RFK and doctor Martin Luther King,
(01:16:15):
Unidentified aerial phenomena also known as UAPs, and I've identified
sub merged objects also known as USO's, the Epstein client List,
the origins of COVID nineteen, and the nine to eleven files.
This task force will be a beacon of bipartisanship on
the Republican side. Representatives Burchett, Bobert, Burlison, Crane, Gill and
(01:16:36):
Mace will be joining me, although I'd like to note
that I'm expanding this to the entire governing body and
we'll be allowing certain members to wave on. Our first
hearing is set for March. The date will be announced
soon and We've already initiated close to a dozen communications
with various agencies, to include Pambondi at the Department of
Justice and the Secretary of State.
Speaker 4 (01:16:56):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (01:16:56):
Okay, so here's my question today to you, What, if anything,
do you think this committee turns up, especially as relates
to the assassinations of JFK RFK Junior and Martin Luther
King Junior. Do you think they are going to find
a government conspiracy? What do you think we learn? Do
you think we learn anything from this task force or not?

Speaker 10 (01:21:12):
It's not optional for us to sit to reduce the

Speaker 7 (01:21:21):
Trump signed an executive order requiring agencies to work with Doge.
By the way, we now have a dose tracker up
online at ktih dot com. Seven h three. Despite losing
in November, Democrats are trying to block Trump's agenda with
activist judges.
Speaker 11 (01:21:37):
Biden set them up for this strategy by appointing a
record number of radical judges.
Speaker 12 (01:21:41):
All of those judges, if you look at their backgrounds,
they are the most left wing partisan.
Speaker 4 (01:21:46):
Idey lags that have ever gotten on the federal bench.
Speaker 11 (01:21:50):
Hans von Spakowski with the Heritage Foundation says GOP senators
need to do a better job of calling these judges out.
Speaker 13 (01:21:56):
They pay lots of attendents of who's nominated for the
spring courts. They pay no attention to who's nominated for
the district court or trial court level judges.
Speaker 11 (01:22:06):
Spikowski says, those are the judges doing the most damage
to Trump's agenda. Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 7 (01:22:12):
Buddy Elon's got a possible solution. Fire the worst one
percent of these activist judges. Every year.
Speaker 14 (01:22:19):
The elected body should be charged with seeing us who
those one percent are. This would weed out most of
the corruption and the incoonfidence. It's a great idea. I
think some of those ideas to be fleshed out a
little bit.
Speaker 7 (01:22:30):
But what we're seeing right now is it's got to
stop Matt Margolis with PJ Media. But Texas Congressmanship Roy
has another idea. How about Congress get involved.
Speaker 15 (01:22:40):
They're using and abusing you know, the Administrative Procedures Act
to say they can do whatever they want, and the
fact is they can't. And that's one of the things
Congress may need to take a look at.
Speaker 7 (01:22:48):
Roy on Fox last night. There are ideas and then
there's action. The administration appealed a Maryland federal judge's ruling
blocking the executive order ending birthright citizenship, in order backed
up with legislation by Republican Congressman Brian BABBITTT of Texas.
Speaker 16 (01:23:05):
It does not eliminate birthright citizenship, it clarifies it.
Speaker 7 (01:23:08):
There have been nine lawsuits filed against that order so far.
It's now seven oh five. If the first three weeks
or any indication Trump's second term might be even more
effective than his first.
Speaker 17 (01:23:20):
And he also gets applause from political strategists like Texas
own Vlad Davidio, who says the president has learned the
lessons of his first term in office and is now
working so fast it's not giving his critics time to
land any blows.
Speaker 18 (01:23:34):
President Trump's decisions to target DEI, illegal immigration, a trade imbalance,
all of these things are going to build a foundation,
and that.

Speaker 19 (01:24:02):
When Joe Biden said I will stop at nothing when
he lost the student long case, CNN didn't say, I
wonder if he's laying the groundwork to the father court.
We treat Republican presidents different than we treat the Democrat.
Speaker 7 (01:24:11):
Presidents, CNN's Brad Todd. The Washington Post Jonathan K. Park
recently admitted to the double standard, telling PBS that Joe
Biden's executive orders were quote, meant to help people, while
Trump's are quotes trying to destroy the government. On the
international front, you may have noticed the Democrats don't seem
to care that much about Ukraine anymore. So what gives?
(01:24:32):
Was it always just a political game?
Speaker 20 (01:24:34):
The Democrats have used Ukraine as a weapon, They've used
it as a piggybank, and that I think has come
to an end, and that was a consequence of Trump's
stunning election victory.
Speaker 7 (01:24:45):
GOP consultant Matt mccoveyac Now, the left did call Trump
out for not ending the war on day one the
way he said he would, but they've ignored it now

Our time here in Houston's born News. One thing to
be hot for teachers, another thing for teacher, be hot
for you. And in recent years I have been amazed
the amount of cases and in fact, I think there
have been more cases of female students or female I'm sorry,
female teachers getting busy with male students than there have
(01:26:43):
been of male teachers getting busy with female students, and
I'm not quite sure what the heck is going on.
Here's another local case, another local case of a teacher
involved with a underage student. Here's the report from our
television partner, KPRC two.
Speaker 22 (01:27:02):
A former Barbara's Hill High School teacher is out of
jail after being booked this morning, accused of having sex
with a student. Molly Colleen Spears spent a decade as
an educator in Texas, but resigned in twenty twenty three
amid the allegations of an improper relationship. KPRC two has
been aware of the allegations against Spears since the summer
of that year, when Barbara's Hill is ISD confirmed that
(01:27:24):
she had resigned. Court records show that in June of
twenty three, twenty twenty three, Spears is accused of having
sex and sexual contact with a student. Tonight, Hower Bryce
Newberry spoke with Barber's Hill parents, who said the district
never notified them about those allegations.
Speaker 23 (01:27:40):
You need to open up and you need to be
transparent about these things because it's our students.
Speaker 16 (01:27:45):
It's your job, it's our job to protect themself.
Speaker 2 (01:27:47):
You're about to protect them as.
Speaker 16 (01:27:48):
Well, and part of that is being transparent, like, hey,
there's an issue.
Speaker 22 (01:27:52):
Well Spears also taught in Cold Spring and Texas City.
She is free tonight on fifty thousand dollars bond. Barbaris
Hill has still not responded to our request for comment.
Speaker 5 (01:28:02):
Oh, there's so many things you can say about this.
First of all, Barber's Hill, you can run, but you
cannot hide. Okay, it happened under your watch, and at
some point in time you're going to have to send
somebody up in front of the microphones to talk to
the press. I realized it is the greatest fear, especially
now of local public schools, is to have a microphone
(01:28:23):
on campus with somebody asking questions about something like this.
But all you do by sticking your head in the
sand is you create more problems for yourself. The other
thing that I find very interesting about this, and I'd
love to know more, is the student himself. Are we
talking about an eighteen year old high school senior? Are
we talking about a fifteen year old? A sixteen year old?
(01:28:45):
What are we talking about here? As far as who
she was having sex with? And I thought maybe Initially
I thought well, maybe not that makes it any better.
But I thought, well, maybe she's just like a twenty
one year old, twenty two year old just out of college,
huge you know, novice teacher, and you know she's with
an eighteen year old student in the age difference, isn't
(01:29:06):
that great. She's been in education for more than ten years,
so she's at least in her thirties. So so we
need to, I think, find out a little bit more
about this. And Martin Poortley, why does this keep happening?
I don't get it? Seven eleven. Let's get the traffic
in weather together, sky Michael, what's going on.
Speaker 7 (01:29:22):
In high school?
Speaker 5 (01:29:23):
Don't talk about when I was in high school because
you already know the answer.
Speaker 6 (01:29:27):
We had little old ladies with beehive hairdoos. So let's
had an Idaho French teacher. In all fairness, I had
a pretty decent home teacher.
Speaker 25 (01:29:35):
Let's go to the Forgotten Freeway two forty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:29:38):
What up, dude?
Speaker 24 (01:29:38):
Hey, this is Kirk from Tomball southbound on the Forgotten Freeway. Boom,
there's a two car accident right at nineteen sixty.
Speaker 25 (01:29:47):
All right, Kirk from Tomball with his first banana sticker.
Speaker 7 (01:29:50):
This morning.
Speaker 6 (01:29:51):
We've still got that two eighty eight scoots northbound. It's minor,
it's macharten, but it's just it's throwing a devil in
our wrench. Here watch out from Broadway on night Pairland northbound.
The toll bridge suckage is real. Southbound, we had a
wreck at two twenty five on the East sam right
after the bridge, and that has got to be a
thirty five minute wait coming down from Wallaceville.
Speaker 25 (01:30:11):
Let's skip over to six ' ten.
Speaker 6 (01:30:13):
If the Hartman Bridge is an option, do that, you
could take the tunnel or my secret hack Wayside super

Speaker 26 (01:30:45):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's a very gray morning for sure,
a couple of sprinkles here and there.
Speaker 27 (01:30:51):
The coll front, though, is still back to the west.
Speaker 26 (01:30:54):
More rain is on the way, folks, eighty percent chance
of view getting wet at some point over the or
so the morning and into the early afternoon. I think
that front should be making its way into southeast Texas
this afternoon, so maybe that'll push most of the rain
out of here.
Speaker 27 (01:31:09):
For the evening drive.
Speaker 26 (01:31:11):
Temperature wise, I don't think we're going to see a
lot of change in our overall temperatures generally upper sixties
to low seventies today.
Speaker 27 (01:31:18):
Tomorrow you will see a change.
Speaker 26 (01:31:20):
The clouds are gone, we're dry, and it's cold to
mid fifties tomorrow. Friday, mid fifties to mid sixties. Another
col front with showers and thunderstorms Saturday, another dose of
very cold air Sunday. Looks like upper forties to upper
fifties for highs on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (01:32:02):
Texas has has power needs we have we have power
needs that we're not delivering on right now, and we
just continue to grow at some point we're gonna have
to add more power that's not winding solar. Andy Myers
joins us Ford, ben County Precinct three commissioner and a
believer in nuclear energy. You worked with the governor on
this issue. How close do you think we are too
(01:32:23):
seriously installing small nuclear reactors here in Texas?
Speaker 28 (01:32:31):
Well, thank you for having me on. I that's a
difficult question to answer. I think we're probably, you know,
six years away. There's a lot to be done. One
of the things that we're trying to do. I'm actually
on my way to Austin to talk to the co
chair of the Texas Nuclear Caucus right now to help
(01:32:55):
develop strategy with regard to how do we get legislation.
It's necessary that to make certain that we have the
opportunity to invite a whole lot of researchers and developers
in advanced nuclear to Texas and get them started.
Speaker 5 (01:33:15):
And to be clear, I don't think you're not talking
about you know, three Mile Island. You're not talking about
these huge nucular reactors that many of which have existed
for you know, for thirty or forty or fifty or
more years. We're talking about relatively small nuclear reactors capable
of powering what like an entire neighborhood, for example, or
maybe an entire city.
Speaker 28 (01:33:34):
Well, yes, they're called small VULNTI reactors. I'm a big
proponent what they call multi salt reactors. And the reason
I'm proponent of that is because multi salt reactors can
generate about two to three times thermal energy that the
current pressure I asked are light water reactors as are
(01:33:56):
called can generate. Those reactors are very large. Two of
the Texas Wanted South Texas Project in Mountagorda County. The
have the commission PEAT, but our focus is on small
mod's reactors that can be grouped together to be the
size if you want to produce as much electricity as
(01:34:18):
one of the larger ones.
Speaker 29 (01:34:19):
Or you can have them small that operated for one city,
or you.
Speaker 28 (01:34:25):
Can have microreactors at kaparer, say the Houston Medical Center.
Speaker 4 (01:34:31):
Andy.
Speaker 5 (01:34:32):
What's the biggest thing standing in the way of something
like this? Is it the concern that the public still
has over things like nuclear power and nuclear waste or
is it more the regulatory environment.
Speaker 29 (01:34:43):
Well, I think it it's a combination of things.
Speaker 28 (01:34:46):
Obviously, one of the things that I served, as you
pointed out, the Texas the Governor's Texas and Danced Nuclear
Reactor Working Group. I was policy co chair. That group
was charged with coming up on a plan to make
Texas leader in developing nuclear power. We're the leaping in
(01:35:06):
all forms of energy. We the leader on gas, where
the leader in the wind and leader in solar. Wind
and solar is proven that they're not as reliable as
we need. As one of the reasons that I'm a
big component of nuclear, it is a very reliable based
load generator.
Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
UH and UH.
Speaker 28 (01:35:26):
The effort that we have right now is to get
necessary legislation, UH interviews so that we can incentiviize so
to speak, UH are make the road a little easier.
One of the things I introduced legislation in twenty three
legislative session UH to put Texas on that.
Speaker 29 (01:35:47):
Path become the leader.
Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
Uh and UH.
Speaker 28 (01:35:51):
One of the things that that we did, and we
met with the Regulatory Commission. They're in favor of the effort.
They just want to make certain that these plans are
going to be ultra safe, and I totally agree with that.
One of the things that the chair of the working group,
the Nuclear Working Group did is he appointed me, gave
(01:36:13):
me the responsibility of coming up with a marketing and
education plan. So it makes we educate first of all,
our legislators know what's going on, than our local elected
officials and the business community, then ultimately the population at home.
Right now, this is this country is about titty safety.
About fifty percent of the favor of nuclear about fifty
(01:36:34):
percent are opposed to it, and a lot of it
has to do with there's a lot of misinformation, sure
misunderstanding right out there.
Speaker 5 (01:36:41):
And that's yeah, that's a big, big block we got
to run because we're running over as we usually do.
But I want to thank you for your time this morning,
and keep working on this and keep us posting if
you would, sir, I hope to talk to you again
soon about this. For Ben County Precinctree Commissioner Andy Meyers
seven to twenty eight. Time to take a look at
your money. Here's Denise Pelgrinny.
Speaker 23 (01:36:58):
Good pointing to Jimmy and Trump saying on Truth Social
this morning, interest rates should be cut by the Fed.
He said that would go hand in hand with upcoming tariffs,
and he says, let's rock and roll America Stock futures.
They're not exactly rocking and rolling right now. Dell futures
down twenty three, S and P futures flat, NESDAK futures
up thirty three, Crude oil futures lower. This morning from
(01:37:20):
the Fidelity Bloomberg Business Tesk. I'm Denise Pelgritty Bloomberg Business.
On News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 4 (01:37:27):
You are no Houston's News.
Speaker 33 (01:37:30):
Why there were traffic plus breaking news twenty four to seventh.
This is News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 2 (01:37:36):
Child Everywhere with the IRF.
Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
More of what's happening now from the John Morris Services Studios.
Speaker 5 (01:37:43):
It is seven thirty one Houston's Morning News. I'm Jimmy Barrett.
Among our top stories this half hour. Unvaccinated kids is
at least partly the responsibility of the CDC. Just like Louisiana,
Texas schools are getting back to the basics and coming
up at seven thirty eight. The head of the Office
of Management and Budget is a big Doge fan. Details
(01:38:04):
in the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First,
let's check out that drive again. Here's sky Mike Katie Freeway.
Speaker 6 (01:38:09):
We just cleared a wreck at Barker Cypress on the
inbound solid wall of breaks from Graham Parkway. The rest
of the media now knows about this wreck on two
forty nine. You knew it ten minutes ago. Inbound nineteen sixty.
We'll check two left lines, big backups from Jones Road
forty five north.
Speaker 7 (01:38:25):
That's Roger from Magnolia.
Speaker 34 (01:38:27):
Good morning, Scott, Mike at the HOV thing the Lubis
nanchory is still here.
Speaker 4 (01:38:31):
Boom.
Speaker 34 (01:38:31):
It's bad and people are still trying to get on
at West Road.
Speaker 6 (01:38:34):
Don't get on the AHOV all right, outstanding advice. I'm
in the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic.
Speaker 5 (01:38:39):
Center from r KTRH Generator Supercenter, twenty four hour Weather Center. Showers,
maybe a thunderstorm this morning, bearable clowns, A showers kind
of dissipates the afternoon. Where is on HI today right
about seventy looks like we're getting a little most of
us getting a little break from the rain at the moment.
We'll get the latest from Terry Smith. She's keeping an
eye on the radar. We'll talk to her in eight
minutes at the weather Channel. Right now, it's sixty six
(01:39:01):
at your official severe weather station. News Radio seven forty
k TRH. It's time now for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.
Speaker 7 (01:39:09):
Thank you very much, Jimmy. It is seven point thirty
two on KTRH. Top story, your kids and the mainstream
media isn't attacking Trump, They're attacking Texas. We've heard about
an uptick in measles cases lately, and while the mainstream
media claims it's in unvaccinated children, they're not telling you
the whole story.
Speaker 35 (01:39:28):
For instance, why and one reason why the state's measles
vaccination rate has dropped since COVID.
Speaker 36 (01:39:36):
It says to me that trust has been broken and
parents don't know who to look for for sound science.
Speaker 35 (01:39:42):
That's Jackie Schlegel with Texans for Medical Freedom.
Speaker 36 (01:39:46):
The CDC is going to have to work to gain
back the trust on their science and their data, and
I think that starts within confirming Bobby Kennedy.
Speaker 35 (01:39:55):
By the way, the measles were considered eliminated by health
agencies in the year two thousand.
Speaker 7 (01:40:01):
Jeff Biggs, News Radio seven forty k T raise. And
then there's what your kids are learning at school. A
return to basics helped our neighbors in Louisiana increase their
education rankings. Texas is following suit. Education expert Sherry Sylvester
says that Tea has made reading a part of all
courses now, and our variety of options like charter schools
(01:40:23):
also helps Texas.
Speaker 30 (01:40:24):
We've got over five million kids in school.
Speaker 38 (01:40:27):
We've got lots of different strategies for educating kids and
getting back making sure that kids get the basic skills
they need to succeed and to move on to acquire
more skills.
Speaker 7 (01:40:39):
She says Texas is not just improving but a getting
ahead of the game. The state is also making moves
against woke education. State Rep. Brian Harrison files a bill
to block any taxpayer funds from going to the American
Library Association.
Speaker 39 (01:40:53):
I'm not cutting off funding to libraries in this bill,
I'm cutting off tax dollars from going to Marxist Socialists organization.
Speaker 7 (01:41:00):
Also in Austin, the latest tax cut in terms of
property taxes unanimously passes out of committee in the Senate.
State Senator Paul Bettencourt says SP four would raise the
homestead exemption to one hundred and forty thousand dollars.
Speaker 40 (01:41:13):
That does provide a huge savings of three hundred and
sixty three dollars for the average homestead.
Speaker 7 (01:41:19):
The bill now goes to the full Senate. Seven thirty four.
Mass deportations continue, as do the arrests of those here illegally.
That includes three Trendy IRAGUA members arrested in Houston yesterday
allegedly involved in a multi state sex trafficking ring. Paul
Francis is getting involved in the deportation fight, running in
a letter that illegal aliens should not be treated as
(01:41:42):
quote criminals orders Our Tom Homan responded.
Speaker 41 (01:41:45):
I'm saying this is a lifelong Catholic baptized tag, the
first communion of Cafelic confirmation of Catholic. You all to
fix the Catholic Chersey contry on his work. They lead
border force that does.
Speaker 7 (01:41:56):
And there's this. The daily average of known gnaways illegals
who cross the board order without being caught is down
to one hundred and thirty two a day, a ninety
three percent drop from the highest numbers we saw during
the Biden years. Seven thirty five. A key Trump cabinet
pick Tulsi Gabbard, as DNI has said, for a final
confirmation vote in the Senate this morning, and as the
(01:42:17):
Democrat freak out over doze continues. Republicans are standing firm.
Speaker 42 (01:42:21):
We are executing on that mandate, and I'll tell you what.
What we're doing is widely applauded by the American people.
Speaker 7 (01:42:28):
That is House Speaker Mike Johnson there, seven thirty five.
We've got the new inflation numbers and they're not good,
So thanks Joe Biden. Prices rose by zero point five
percent in January. That's higher than expected, and the year
over year number is now up to three percent, well
above the Fed's goal of two percent. And it comes
as Jerome Powell tried to spend Biden nomics for the
(01:42:51):
Senate Banking Committee yesterday.
Speaker 43 (01:42:53):
Inflation has moved much closer to our two percent longer
run goal, though it remains somewhat elevated.
Speaker 7 (01:42:59):
Powell will be back on Capitol Hill today. Dow futures
right now, they just tumbled four hundred points. Lowering interest
rates hasn't helped mortgage rates. They're still near seven percent
as buyers look for the sweet spot on when to buy.
Speaker 45 (01:43:14):
Home buyers keep watching for interest rates to come back down. Meanwhile,
home prices are doing anything.
Speaker 44 (01:43:20):
But these rates are hanging in a sixth sixth and
not okay, but if we were looking at houses last year,
those same houses are a little more expensive now this year.
Speaker 45 (01:43:30):
Real estate advisor Ashley Massa he believes the days of
three or four percent interest on a thirty year loan
are gone, even with close to a seven percent interest
rate right now. Freddie max Show's home purchase applications have
increased slightly compared to a year ago. Eric Sharp News
Radio seven forty KRH.
Speaker 7 (01:43:48):
Seven thirty seven. The Texas electrical grid needs more power.
We all know that, and a fort Ben County commissioner
says new forms of nuclear power are among the best
ways to help. Andy Meyer says he's working with the
governor to start rolling out newer, safer plants.
Speaker 28 (01:44:03):
We created a plan for for Texas to follow that.
We believe we'll put Texas in the lead among states.
Right now, we probably rank about sixth or seventh in
the United States among the thirty states, and very active
in advanced nuclear.
Speaker 7 (01:44:17):
Myers just joined Jimmy a few moments ago here on
Houston's morning News. We'll get that interview up online shortly.
I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather and Traffic station
k t.
Speaker 46 (01:44:26):
R H Michael Berry only endorses Texas Renters dot com
for property management needs.
Speaker 27 (01:44:33):
I live in Spring, I live in Katie.
Speaker 1 (01:44:34):
You're reliable forecast Next on the ten on seven forty
k t r H.
Speaker 2 (01:44:42):
Yeah, fucking knife out. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:44:58):
So I was talking earlier this morning about this Doge tracker.
I saw that, you know, keeping track of the money
that Elon Musk is saving us through these Doge cuts.
A billion dollars coming out of the Education Department budget
yesterday alone. We have a Doze tracker now at KTRH
dot com. It's right on the front page. Just go
there and you can keep track as they continue to
(01:45:20):
make cuts of how much taxpayer money is being saved
by Doge. In the meantime, the Director of the Office
of Management and Budget, Russ Voight, who was the director
during the original trub administration, has returned to directed in
this second administration. He's a big fan of Doge.
Speaker 47 (01:45:38):
We have a great partnership. He's a patriot. We talk
a lot, We stay in close coordination. He's doing what
every business owner would do in the country, which is
to get a handle on what their expenses. Every family
does that, they get a handle on their expenses. What
is discretionary, what is wasteful, and they take a stock
of it. And what we are finding is that there's
(01:45:59):
tremendous non only waste, but a lack of control in
our federal agencies where money just goes out the door.
And all that's been done thus far is a programmatic
review all of that is what is being done is
to say we want to make sure that the contracts
are consistent with what the President ran on, and getting
DEI out of things, and making sure we don't have
radical gender ideology being pushed throughout the federal government. That
(01:46:22):
is what this administration that Doge is doing, and he
is having a tremendous impact, and OMB is very excited
about coming along beside him and making these cuts permanent
in the long term. And all we're trying to do,
Doge and Omb at the behest of the President, is
to get a handle on the waste, the inefficiency, the fraud,
(01:46:43):
and quite frankly, the degree to which these agencies have
been weaponized against the American people, and the usaidea is
a perfect example of that in terms of wasting our
taxpayer dollars to not only go and push ideologies that
the host countries don't want but to literally destabilize their
foreign policy. That's just common sense. Why would we spend
a dollar on that money? And that's what we're going
(01:47:04):
to see at each and every agency that we.
Speaker 16 (01:47:06):
Look and turn two to get a handle on.
Speaker 5 (01:47:09):
All right again, Russfold, he's the head of the Office
of Management and Budgement. Seven forty times four traffic and
weather together. That's you, skuy Mike close behalf of it.
Speaker 6 (01:47:19):
Well, let's do let's do some visoring here Katie Freeway.
We cleared a record Barker Cypress solid wall o breaks
now from Grant Parkway West Park Tollway. Those slowdowns start
at South Parker Cypress Southwest Freeway, dragging it a bit
at ninety and once again when you get to west Park.
Speaker 7 (01:47:36):
Two ninety ups some breaks at Eldridge and two forty nine.
Speaker 6 (01:47:39):
You were the first to know about that recordt nineteen
sixty inbound, nothing but breaks from Jones Road. Now we
have a second problem six to ten north westbound. We
cleared the truck at Irvington at Fulton and now behind
it there's an accident going that way again right at
the Hardy toll Road.
Speaker 25 (01:47:54):
I've got i ten East truck or Tim Mike Dude.
Speaker 48 (01:47:58):
Rolling each bound out here between Lenny and Beaumont, multiple
bags of onion, onions. Somebody brings some beltepper and sel
and some garnic. We're gonna make a dumboat.
Speaker 1 (01:48:08):
There we go.
Speaker 6 (01:48:09):
And you're right in front of the crawfish form too,
so I just watch out for other stations listeners. Swerving
two eighty eight, we cleared the north bound wreck at
McCard Terry Smith.
Speaker 7 (01:48:17):
I have two thoughts here.
Speaker 6 (01:48:19):
I'm scheduled to fly for Channel eleven today for news,
so am I going to be able to get up
with this weather? And number two my second thought, I
need you to not get in a high speed police
chase or I.
Speaker 4 (01:48:29):
Have to film you.
Speaker 25 (01:48:29):
I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 5 (01:48:33):
From our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four hour Weather Center.
Speaker 4 (01:48:36):
Well, this is the good news story.
Speaker 5 (01:48:38):
We've gone from mostly thugly to partly ugly, which is
at least an improvement this morning.
Speaker 27 (01:48:43):
And I think we'll continue to improve.
Speaker 26 (01:48:45):
And if I do get into a high speed police chase,
please do film me. I am because I won't believe
it unless I see it. And will you be able
to fly depends on the visibility and the center. Okay, God,
so sure exactly. It's a ceiling issue. You are correct
about that, and I have not looked to see, but.
Speaker 27 (01:49:07):
We shall see.
Speaker 26 (01:49:08):
I'm going to hold off on any predictions. I do
think we'll see more rain, an eighty percent chance of
those showers and thunderstorms until the front moves through. I
don't think it's going to be off the coast until
perhaps sometime tonight. So temperatures, clouds are hanging around, temperatures
upper sixties to low seventies. It's going to be chilly
tonight down into the forties. And Tomorrow's a cold day,
(01:49:31):
sunny load to mid fifties. Friday's only somewhat warmer, mid
fifties to mid sixties Friday, another round of rain Saturday,
another dose of cold air Sunday.
Speaker 27 (01:49:42):
Lots of changes in our weather.
Speaker 5 (01:49:44):
Temperature right now sixty seven at your officials, Severe Weather Station,
News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 1 (01:49:51):
What you need to know for the day ahead.
Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.
Speaker 5 (01:49:58):
So we have a new outbreak measles here in Texas,
Who's to blame for this? Is it the anti vaccine crowd?
Is it people having less confidence than the CDC? Is
it undocumented illegals who maybe were never vaccinated? More than
that story coming up next. First, we've got traffic and
weather together shutting with you.
Speaker 6 (01:50:15):
Skoy Mike, please do I've got two forty nine arec
clear nineteen sixty Golf Freeway a stall before the loop
and you cleared it at Barker Cypress KTIE Freeway backed
up from Graham Parkway. I'm skymikeel the Generator Supercenter dot
Com Traffic Center from.
Speaker 5 (01:50:29):

maybe a thundershower this morning, variable clouds, showers diminishes the
day works on seventy four today, part of the Cloudie
Colder fifty four tomorrow right now sixty seven at your

Speaker 1 (01:51:10):
Under the orders I sawn today. Keep it here for
the very latest.
Speaker 30 (01:51:13):
All of this will change starting today on.
Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
The radio seven ktr H.
Speaker 25 (01:51:23):
There was a day but the measel struck.
Speaker 5 (01:51:30):
OUCH seven fifty three our time here in Houston's Warning News.
We used to laugh about the measles. It's not really
a laughing matter anymore. We'd be brother. Our kids don't
get it. Jackie Schleichel joins US Texans for Medical Freedom.
I mentioned some possible causes why measles might be on
the rise. You know, undocumented immigrants who have didn't get vaccinated. People,
(01:51:54):
you know, the anti vaccine crowd, people who don't trust
the CDCs. It's some of the above, none of the above.
Speaker 37 (01:51:59):
What you think, well, good morning.
Speaker 50 (01:52:03):
You know.
Speaker 58 (01:52:03):
I do think.
Speaker 37 (01:52:05):
At the end of the day, these things do happen,
and I trust our local medical professionals, our doctors, and
our parents to come together and to have these discussions
and then make the medical decisions for our children. I
do not believe that this is the role of the
CDC or anybody else. We've got to be having these
conversations in our doctor's offices and making the best decision
(01:52:29):
for our children.
Speaker 4 (01:52:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:52:30):
I think the CDC had a lot of obviously bad
public relations as a related to COVID. They destroyed their
credibility with a lot of people.
Speaker 37 (01:52:39):
Oh one thousand percent, we were, you know, masking two
year old children. They told us masks don't work. They
do work. Everybody needs them.
Speaker 1 (01:52:48):
You know.
Speaker 37 (01:52:49):
There were so many things the shutdowns. People lost their livelihood,
their careers, And I absolutely think we are at a
turning point right now where parents and the American people
are saying, hey, you know, is the information they are
putting out there is an actor? Can I trust them?
I think the trust has been broken. I don't know
(01:53:11):
that that can be easily undone.
Speaker 5 (01:53:13):
Yeah, vaccines for measles and moms and child their diseases
have been around for a long long time.
Speaker 4 (01:53:17):
Do you have any concerns over them?
Speaker 37 (01:53:21):
Look, what I have concerns of is the seventy eight
doses of vaccines. And I think that's what most parents
are If you listen to like RFK Junior saying, he's
saying I'm not anti vaccine. What I want is parents
who have access to clear science that's free from conflict
(01:53:41):
of interest, that you know is sound. And I want
parents to have a choice. They want to go into
their doctor's offices and they don't want to be bullied.
They don't want to be mandated. They are smarter than that.
They can make the best decisions for their children. And
I think at the end of the day, we know
mandates do not work. So I stand with Texans who
(01:54:04):
want to make informed medical decisions for their children.
Speaker 5 (01:54:09):
Be old enough to remember measles parties, Jackie, I am
when when parents used to get kids with measles together
with other kids to get the thing over and done with.
Speaker 37 (01:54:19):
I think my generation was more along the lines of
the chicken pox parties. I don't remember any measles parties,
And you know, I just think again coming back to
parents need to be having these conversations with their doctors.
The mandates don't work. Parents can make the best decision
for their children when they have access to clear.
Speaker 1 (01:54:40):
Buyas science science.
Speaker 37 (01:54:42):
And I stand with President Trump R. K. Junior, who
are saying that's the direction we need to go. We
are on a path to make America healthy again. That
starts with informed consent. Informed consent is the risk and
the benefits in the ability to choose without consequence. This
(01:55:05):
is incredibly important if you are being forced, if you
are being bullied, if you are being pushed and backed
into a corner where you feel like you don't have
a choice. That is not informed consent and it does
not work, and we saw that with COVID.
Speaker 5 (01:55:19):
I agree, Jackie. Thank you so much for joining us today.
Do appreciate it. Texans for medical Freedom. Jackie Schlegel, y'all
have a great day. See tomorrow morning bright nearly five am.
I'll see the staffroom before I hope on am nine
to fifty KPRC.
