You know he's not that bad being number two, asked
jd Vance. I mean it's a pretty good spot to
be in now. He has not received the mantle of
air apparent yet anyway, Whereas in Trump says he doesn't
yet view JD Vance as his successor in twenty twenty eight.
But Buddy went on to say, but he's very capable,

mad Locke joins, us hosting Republican strategists. That probably doesn't
mean a whole heck of a lot at this point,
does it, Matt? I mean they did their usual straw
poll at Sea Pack and there was nobody within a mile,
nobody within one hundred miles of jd evans.

No, it doesn't mean a whole lot. I mean, we
all know that jd Vance is going to be the
guy in twenty twenty eight. We also know that Trump's
a strategist, and we know that right now Trump has
been plotting this last four years, trying to get all
of this done.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
So I think it's more of a deflection than anything else. Okay, deflection,
Why though, why do you think he needs to deflect
on Trump?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Sego? I don't think allows him to not be number
one and number two I think it's one of those
deals where you keep it out of the what I
call the state run media. You keep it from being
a story, you keep it from well, Donald Trump is
a lame duck. Nobody wants to be called that. We
know it's the second term of Donald Trump. We know
he's the second president ever to have non consecutive terms.

So in Trump's mind, I think it's more strategic than
anything else. It's a hurdle that he doesn't have to
deal with yet.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Okay, and might there be other strategies involved as well
as far as dealing with jd Vance, as far as
making sure the jd is fully on board with the
Trump policies. In other words, if you want to be
the next Republican standard bearer, you're going to need to
stand for what I stand for.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Maybe in a way, I don't know if it's a
litmus test per se. I think it's allowing jd Vance
to be jd Vance. He's very articulate, he's very smart.
He is a younger version of Donald Trump. He handles
the media very well, and there's really nothing that you
can say to the guy that he doesn't have a
very concise and inappropriate answer too.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
That's a good point. He certainly let the Europeans know
what he thought about him. He wasn't afraid, He was
not afraid to share his opinions on that was he Well, he.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Did light up X for a few days over the
fact that Europe maybe should carry a little bit of
their weight and stop crabbing about how the United States
does things since we're what seventy percent of NATO's funding.
So yeah, he made a little bit of stir in Munich.
But I think that's what Donald Trump wants him to do.
I think Donald Trump needs him to be the stick
that stirs the drink while Donald Trump's busy doing what
