I don't think it's supposed to be fun. Twenty three
our time here in Houston's Warning News. So Christine Omas
announced the DHS Registry for Legal Aliens that will require
you to register, to be fingerprinted, and to provide your
name and your address so they know where you're living.
I'm guessing there are fair amount of illegals out there
who are not going to do because they're going to

(00:21):
fear that it's going to lead to a knock on
the door from Ice. But we'll see. Joey Chester joins
this communications director at FAIR. I mean, this is what
is supposed to happen, right, This is what US law
says you're supposed to do if you are in this
country as an alien from a foreign country, you are
to register. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Look, it's great to be with you, and you're exactly right.
And I think that's what so many people, especially these
open borders advocates the least, is getting wrong about this.
This is not some new registry that the Trump administration
is inventing. This is a law that has been on
the books four years. But the Trump administration is simply
choosing to enforce the law. And enforcing the law should

not be controversial. Enforcing the law is the thing that
the president, as the executive is supposed to do, and
so I think that there's two ideas with this. One.
Of course, it is a tool that will allow the
government to know who the illegal aliens are in this country.

(01:26):
And then on the other hand, it also encourages self
deportation because the illegal aliens know that they have to register,
they know that the federal government will know their names
and where they are. And the Trump administration is telling
these aliens that, look, if you willingly leave the country,
if you self deport you may have an opportunity to

(01:49):
come to the United States again. But if you don't
leave and we have to come find you and deport
you your in violation of our law, then you're never
going to be able to come to America again. And
so I really think what they're doing here is encouraging
illegal aliens to self deport.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah, you know, Joey, speaking of self deportation, I saw
this story here in Houston yesterday where a illegal guy
caught up in a He's not a criminal, he's a
family man.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
He had some sort of a job. I'm not sure
exactly what he was. He was doing. But he is
here illegally. He got caught up in an ice raid.
He just happened to be collateral damaged in an ice
raid that did target criminals. And they were interviewing his wife, who,
along with their daughter's daughters, look happy and fine. You know,
dad's fine, being well treated, and they say, well, we're

(02:38):
all good. We're all going to go home to Guatemala. Okay.
That's that's kind of the definition of self deportation, right.
Nobody's trying to break up families. Nobody's trying to kick
somebody out of the country and and have the other
ones disappear into the ether. It's you know, you came
here illegally as a family, you go home as a family.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, that's exactly right. Look, we are, at the end
of the day, fundamentally a nation of laws, and those
laws have to be followed. And if you are here illegally,
even if you are not committing crimes while you're here
in America, you broke our immigration laws to come into
our country, and that is a matter of fact. And

(03:21):
if you are here working without authorization, you're also breaking
a law doing that. So even if you aren't one
of these violent offenders. Again, you're still in the country
legally and you are at risk for deportation. And so yeah,
if you're here as a family illegally and one of
your family members it gets caught by Ice, then yeah,

(03:43):
that's a decision that you have to make where, you know,
do you want to leave your family here or does
your whole family want to self deport and with those
family members self deport as the Trump administration has said,
those family members might have a chance to come back
to the United States one day and do it legally
because the Trump administration is going to allow that if

you are willing to leave the country on.
