Speaker 1 (00:02):
This, judge, have we let you loose?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Yeah, just post your bond five fifty three a time
here in Houston Sporning News. Now, Grant, like I said,
three million dollar bond is it's a lot of money.
I mean even ten percent is a lot of money.
But maybe they'll be able to come up with it.
In which case the second accused, you know, cop killer
gets out. This guy is the accused shooter. So we're
gonna ask judge. Hillary Hunger wants three million dollar bond.

(00:26):
But it's important that you know, everybody gets bond, evidently
in Hillary Hunger's world. Doug Griffith joins us, president of
the Houston Police Officers Union. I never thought we'd live
to see this kind of day, Doug, what about you?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
No, sir, this is the first time I can remember
in Harrison County where we have an alleged cop killer
that they're going to let out on bond. And what
kills me on this particular case. Yeah, they may have
given him a million dollar bond, but he made it.
He made that bond. And not only that he's asking
he's saying he's indigent, so he's asking county to represent him.

(01:03):
We're paid for his defense, but he hasn't mind to
bond out of bond.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah, that's assuming he sticks around. You know, if I
were exactly we'll see him again. That's one of the
reasons why you generally speaking, don't grant bond to somebody
who's an accused cop killer is that if they have
the opportunity to just leave and flee to Mexico or
go somewhere else, then chances you would think are probably
fairly high that they're going to do that, because, after all,

(01:28):
you face the likelihood of a death penalty if you're
found guilty.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yes, and you have to understand this, judge, this ain't
her first time. We have at least eight citizens of
Paris countdate are dead because of her. She has allowed
people to walk out on bonds at least eight times,
people with multiple piony bonds. She's given another bond, they
get out, and they kill someone eight. She doesn't care

(01:53):
about the citizens of Paris County. She doesn't care about
a law enforcement community she needs to.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Give so in her has she ever required a defendant
to stay over with nobanas. She ever denied bail or
bond anybody. As far as we.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Know, there as far as I know, no, And the
deal is she's using a law that she's misinterpreting because
this guy was on probation at some point, which means
he's obviously failed to comply with those restrictions, and she
still lets him out on bond. This has happened over

(02:31):
and Overraen Harris County, and she's one of the worst
offenders of this. Greg Glass, he was a volun He
let a guy out that killed one of our ulfcers.
She lets this person out kills one of our deputies
in Harris County. She needs to go the same way
of Greg Glass.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, well, and hopefully she will. Certainly she's going to
get her fair shore. I would hope of bad publicity
on this one. Now I'm on our website right now
and I'm ringing under her core belief. She says. It's
a former prosecutor and defense attorney. I have a uniquely
balanced perspective. Courts should find alternatives to incarceration with an
eye towards rehabilitation, a reduction of recidivism, and an increase

(03:09):
in community safety. Where's the increase in community safety when
you let the cop killer loose?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Absolutely, she is one of these radical judges that has
to go. We have to butter out in the next
selection and I'm going to do everything I can to
make sure that happens.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
And i will do everything i can to help you. Doug,
appreciate you joining us. Thank you. Doug Griffith, President of
the Houston Police Officers Union. It's five fifty seven.
