Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's continue a noun and welcome in Congressman
Roger Williams talk a little bit about these issues. Congresman,
good morning, how are.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
You, sir? I'm great, Good morning to you guys. I
want to add some of that three or fifty million
dollar power ball, don't we Yeah, that'd be nice, wouldn't it.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
We're, of course, we're clawing back as much of that
as we can through Dosh And that's a good thing.
It's kind of like, yeah, it's kind of like hitting
the power ball when they got those guys on the
job saving our money. Okay, Cotchman, let's talk about the
South Texas Immigration Detention Center. It was shuttered because of
high operating costs under Biden. It is reopening now to
house immigrant families under the Trump administration.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Can you tell us how it will be used. Well,
it's going to be used for that very thing. I mean,
if there's open beds, we need to we need to
use them. This facility was, as you said, shut down
by Biden because he said it was too expensive to run.
But there's no expense to keep bad people and out
of our out of our country and so forth. So
the detention center is going to be open to carry

(00:57):
twenty house twenty four hundred people. And with what we're
doing at the border with we're capturing people that want
to do harm to our country and there's families involved
with that. Also, this comes a good timing for us.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah, it does, indeed. And speaking of keeping bad people out,
that's what your new bill is about here, right, Identifying
potential Terrorists at the Border Act of twenty twenty five.
Can you tell us more about this bill?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Absolutely? You know, we know we've got we all guess
that what we got over here, But twenty million is
a pretty good figure of people are over here. We
don't know who they are, who they are, what they're about.
And then you take that, how many of those are terrorists? Right?
And this bill, what it does, identifies potential terrorists unless
the border patrol screen detained migrants until they're cross match

(01:43):
with a federal with the Federal Terrorists watch List. We
haven't had, we haven't had, we haven't been able to
do that before. It just makes it easier to detain
and find out who we're talking to. And look at
if you have twenty million people over here in their
gas at prideament where's one that might be a bad
a bad guy. We got to find these people and
this will help help do that, free freeze our border

(02:05):
patrol up to do what they're designed to do, Chison Williams.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Do we know how many? Roughly an estimate of how
many terrorists actually came into the country, both known and unknown,
meaning some were on the actual terrorist watch list, some
were terrorists but we're not on the watch list, but
we have identified we have an idea how many came
across during Biden.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Well, you see so many different numbers. I hate to
quote a number, but here's the thing, guys, if one
came as too many, right, and so as far as
how many we got, we don't know. That's one reason
here to begin to stop it and and understand who's
in our country trying to trying to harm our country,
and this lets the border patrol be able to do that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
I did see one one report that said during President
Trump's first term there were like maybe between two to
six encounters of these non US citizen terrasts in an
entire fiscal year, and under Biden there was an asked
for number. As I see something very generic here that
says the number jumped into the hundreds. Whether it's lower hundreds,
mid hundreds, or high, I don't know, but it's even

(03:03):
if you get to one hundred, from two to six
is what we had under Trump the first time.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
That's dangerous. No, it's totally dangerous. And if it's one hundreds,
it could be the thousands and so forth. So there's
no time like right now, and we've been letting. We've
had an open door policy for people want to come
in and harm our country. This bill will allow border
patrol to do their job on the border, keep our sovereignty,

(03:27):
get Texas back to where we need to be, get
America back where we need to be, where we have
legal immigration, where you come in and do it the
right way and not come through the ports of entry
and tarre it property and hurt people.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Congressman, that's going to sound like a dumb question, but
it shouldn't be because I feel like sadly there are
going to be a bunch of Democrats that oppose this,
like they post everything that we are doing to try
to strengthen our border. But do you have bipartisan support
or do you expect you will for this bill?

Speaker 2 (03:54):
You know, I expect that we will. I mean, I
think that all the time, and I continue to get
surprised by the way they act on certain things. But
I'm going to assume we're going to get some bipartisan
support on this because it's good for our country. This
is not this is not a Republican Democratic issue. This
is not a Trump issue. This is a save America issue.
So we're gonna be working it hard to see who

(04:15):
we can get on and make it by Parson, because
that's I'd like to get it. That way makes it
easier to pass. And understand it.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Do you have any support yet, in other words, you
drop in this bill with any co sponsors?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Well, we dropped it last night. We do have co sponsors,
and we'll be working at this week. We're gone, we're
coming back to Texas, but we'll be working with the
offices and with my colleagues, and we get back, we've
got a good bipartisan bill. They can have the border patrol,
have Texas help America and get the bad guys out
of the way and tell them we're a land of law.
We don't want you.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
This is a no brainer. Like I said, they should
be byparty, should be unanimous. Quite Frankly, I don't care
if you're a Democrat. I don't care how you feel
about illegal immigration. Here we're talking about terror risks, and
this keeps terror rists.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Do.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
We have to go back and remind everybody what terrorism
looks like in this country if we don't do the job. So,
hopefully you will get all kinds of support from the
other side too. I won't count on it, but I
will hope it and expect it. Congressman Roger Williams final
thoughts are go ahead.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
No, I think that. I think we're in thirty days.
We've seen a lot of changes in America. I think
we have sent a message to the terrorists and the
bad guys and as they say, there's a new sheriff
in town, don't come over here and want to kill
our people and destroy our cities. If you want to
realize the dream, you come between the pods of entry.
You do it legally, and we'll welcome you. If not,
you got to go back home.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
That is what it's all about. The Identifying Potential Terrorists
at the Border Act of twenty twenty five, introduced by
Representative Williams last night. Now we know is in the
pipeline congressman. Great stuff, Thank you, sir, We appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Okay, guys, thank you, God bless
