Another violent weekend across the Euston area leaves two men
dead in separate shootings. In northeast Harrace County. Gunfire broke
out during a pack gathering at a gas station Saturday night,
one person killed, at least six others hurt. Hours later
on the city's west side of road, rage incident on
Highway six near Memorial Drive turned deadly when man was
gunned down after an argument. Both cases remain unsolved. Houston
(02:04):
Mayor John Whitmyer shining a light on part of the
rise in crime. At a recent city council meeting, the
mayor said that there were at least nine hundred accused
killers free on bond in Houston.
Speaker 9 (02:14):
This has been one of the biggest contributors to Houston's
rising crime problem.
Speaker 10 (02:17):
These are people on bond for murder. Once you kill someone,
there's nothing left for you out there. You're going to
either commit more crimes or you're going to end up
in prison or dead.
Speaker 9 (02:26):
Doug Griffith with the Houston Police Officers Union says many
of these accused killers shouldn't be getting bond at all.
Speaker 10 (02:31):
In ninety percent of these cases, the people that are
getting bonds are already on bond for something else.
Speaker 9 (02:37):
How is it that we're not revoking the first bond,
Griffith says, we need to start holding the light on crime.

of power. Sean Fleetwood of the Federalist says that the
holds he has put on the nominations require individual committee
approval of process that he once said he'd never use.
Speaker 12 (03:42):
Hypocrisy is part of it, but I also think it's hierarchy.
Democrats just don't think that they have to play by
the same rules. They view themselves as elites, that they
are greater than Republicans, greater than Conservatives, and they don't
have to abide by the same standards.
Speaker 7 (03:55):

We're very hopeful we're going to see a pathway to

Speaker 13 (07:33):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
But Dana White got me thinking about Dana White and
Dana White. Did you know this that Dana White and
the UFC fighters helped train law enforcement and cash Buttele
evidently is talking about creating some sort of a training
program in mixed martial arts for the FBI. Here's Dana
(07:54):
White speaking with Fox Cut five police. I forgot to
tell you, didn't I if my computer's still not fixed?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Cut five?
Speaker 5 (08:02):
If you can grab that real quick for Dana Way,
all right, one thousand and one thousand and two, you
get two seconds cut five Dana White.
Speaker 18 (08:10):
Yeah, Well, for people that don't know, I mean, UFC
fighters have been training law enforcement military guys for years,
so you know, when you talk about hand to hand combat,
these guys should know jiu jitsu, and they should know
you know, Mui thai and all the different things that
(08:30):
you know are the basics of mixed martial arts. Everybody
wants to make everything controversial. There's nothing controversial about it.
All of these guys should be trained in that, and
they should all be in shape and be able to
defend themselves. So Cash Betel was dead serious when he
said that, and he and I have talked about it.
Speaker 19 (08:47):
I think, you know, UFC fighters are certainly known for
their discipline, for their toughness. I think that would be
great reflected in the FBI. It is certainly an agency
that you know, people are looking to kind of improve
upon at this point right now.
Speaker 18 (09:00):
Yeah, and any of these guys that are in these
type of roles, any type of law enforcement, they should
be able to defend themselves without guns if that situation happens.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Hell of an idea.
Speaker 5 (09:11):

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Five twenty three, so at a time here in Houston's
boy News, Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, not Master
of the House, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. Over
the weekend got asked about, well, a lot of things,
not the least of which is passing a framework, if
you will, for a budget. It's not the budget per se,
it's a framework for a budget. That's how things work
(11:02):
or don't work in government. You pass frameworks for things.
He was on Sunday Morning Futures talking about passing that
blueprint and a few other items.
Speaker 21 (11:11):
Here he is, there's been a lot of deliberate negotiation,
a lot of hard work done for more than a year,
Maria to get to this point. We started this process
in March of last year. We expected and believed that
we would have unified government. We would come to this
moment a really incredible opportunity, and that is that we
would have alignment. We would win the White House, the Senate,
(11:32):
and the House, and we would be able to engage
in this process. The beauty of the reconciliation process is
because it's the one mechanism that allows you to get
around the necessity of sixty votes in the Senate, and
that's what's so important because we only have fifty three
Republicans there. But we have to get the Senate Republicans
and a House Republicans virtually every single one of them
aligned to make sure that while we extend the tax cuts,
(11:55):
to your point, we also pay for them. Because we
all know that the national debt isa be the greatest
single threat toward national security right now.
Speaker 22 (12:03):
So knowing that seventy six percent of the spending goes
toward mandatory spending Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, where are the offsets?
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Well, here's the key to all of it.
Speaker 21 (12:14):
The President has made absolutely clear many times as we
have as well, that we're going to protect Medicare, social Security,
Medicaid for people who are legally beneficiaries of those programs.
There are a lot of Americans who rely upon those
programs and we've got to ensure that they're safeguarded. That's
a big priority of the White House and the Republicans
in Congress. At the same time, we have to root
(12:37):
out fraudation abuse. We have to eliminate people, for example,
on Medicaid who are not actually eligible to be there
able bodied workers, for example, young men who should never
be on the program at all. When you have people
on the program that are draining the resources, it takes
it away from the people that are actually needing it
the most and are intended to receive it. You're talking
(12:58):
about young single mothers, you know, down on their fortunes
at the dad of moment, you know, the people with
the real disabilities, the elderly, and we've got to protect
and preserve that program. So we're going to preserve the
integrity of it in this process. We have lots of
categories of areas where the government is too large, it
does too many things, and the DOJE efforts and others
have highlighted that for the American people. So in this process,
(13:20):
you're going to see in eleven different committees of jurisdiction
across the House, members working hand in hand with their
sleeves rolled up, working to carve out those inefficiencies.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Yeah, okay, well and hopefully codified by by law, which
of course, you know, always takes a while when you're
dealing with speaking of government and efficiencies. Is there anybody
thinks that the House of Representatives has been efficient with
its time getting things passed not very not at all,
five twenty six. It is time to take a look
(13:52):
at your money. Good morning, Happy Monday to you, Jeff Bellinger.
Speaker 23 (13:56):
And happy Monday to you, Jimmy, if there can be
such a thing. All of the tariff turmoils stocks managed
to post solid games for all of last week. The
major averages had advances ranging from one and a half
percent to just over two percent on Friday. Investors are
encouraged by President Trump's decision to accept smartphones, laptops, and
(14:16):
other consumer electronics from his new tariffs, but the President
says no one is getting off the hook entirely and
the reprieve will not be permanent. Nonetheless, futures are looking
good this morning, with the Dow futures up three hundred

Speaker 25 (16:49):
From the standpoint of social security.

It's a horrible thing.
Speaker 25 (16:51):
From the standpoint of the strength of social security. When

it's going to make our system much stronger.

Go through the TSA line. Ain't that fun? You get
summer vacation coming up? Five thirty eight? Is that time
here in Houston's Warning News. You know, for almost twenty
years now, almost twenty years, we could only fly with
three point four ounce of containers.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
So you had to get the any bitty little deodorance.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
And you know, you couldn't carry the liquids because for
so long, thanks to the shoe bomber, I guess for
so long they were worried about explosive devices, they limited
the amount of liquids that you could you could bring
on board the plane. Well, now it turns out they've
decided evidently that that's no longer a problem for whatever reason.
(22:40):
So the TSA has eleven new rules going into effect

Speaker 5 (25:58):
It's just coming up on five to here. On Houston's
Morning News, there's an ai ad that's going on a
video that mocks the idea of Americans working in factories,
which of course is something that President Trump has promised
to restore US manufacturing. Why would they be mocking that?
Who's producing this video, one wonders. At any rate, we'll
talk to Gordon Shang about that, the author of the
(26:20):
coming collapse of China in just a moment. First by
fifty the little traffic and weather together as we check
out again the sky.

Here's Eric Good Morning five point fifty one on news
radio seven forty KTRH. Commerce Secretary Howard Lundnix says the
exemption of electronic devices from recently announced tariffs is not permanent.
You also confirmed the tariffs on pharmaceuticals will also be
announced separately. A Texas centate built to create a homeland
security division within the Department of Public Safety now goes
to the State House of Representatives. And the cost of
(27:32):
raising children is on the rise again at new steady estimates.
At three hundred thousand dollars is what it's going to
cost to raise a child from birth to the age
of eighteen and twenty twenty five. It's a twenty five

Speaker 5 (27:58):
Five fifty two, sir. Time Here in Houston's Warning News.
There's this AI video that has gone viral mocking the
ideas of Americans working in factories.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
It is.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
I can't elp, but notice that everybody in the video
is fat and very unhappy. Is if somehow factory work
is you know, for fat, unhappy people and not for
Americans in general. Also, it has this weird, little twiny
Chinese style music behind it, which of course makes me
wonder who produced this video to begin with. Gordon Chang
(28:30):
joins us the author of the Coming Collapse of China.
I could see China being behind something like this, Gordon.
The last thing they want is in the United States
to ratchet up its manufacturing.
Speaker 39 (28:41):
Well certainly, and you know, we have seen Chinese propaganda
become really insulting. You know, probably this was the work
of some neticine in China. But nonetheless, the fact that
it went viral means that the Chinese government isn't stopping it.
But we have seen some Chinese action, Chinese action really
bold recently. And we've got to understand that the Chinese
(29:05):
view this tariff war as we call it, They view
it as an existential threat to their economy.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
I've seen a lot of shows here lately, Gordon talking
about obviously talking about China and talking about the teriff war.
Here is you've watched this situation evolved. I thought it
was very interesting that President Trump said that he believes
that China would like to negotiate. They just don't know
how to negotiate it. You think that's part of the problem,
(29:33):
that they just they're not used to having to negotiate.
Therefore they don't know how to sit down and talk
about this stuff.
Speaker 39 (29:39):
Well, I think President Trump is right, and he's right
in this respect that C. Jimping has configured the Chinese
political system so that only the most hostile answers are
considered acceptable. So he cannot be seen as picking up
the phone and calling President Trump. Now, that would be
the economically rational thing for him to do right now,
(30:00):
But nonetheless, I don't think that it is politically acceptable
in China to do that. So while this trade war
hurts China so much more than it hurts the United States, Sigianping.
Speaker 8 (30:13):
Just won't do it.
Speaker 39 (30:14):
And he very well may be willing to take China
off the cliff because he doesn't want to jeopardize his
political position in the Chinese capital.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
All right, Well, by taking China off the cliff, what
are we talking about here? We talk about maybe some
aggressive action against Taiwan or some other part of the
world to kind of draw attention away from all this.
Speaker 39 (30:33):
Well, because there are no good answers for the Chinese economy,
Sijin Ping may decide that his only way out is
to do what you say, which is to start trouble someplace.
And you know, Jimmy, we've seen in the last couple
of weeks hostile Chinese maneuvers in the waters of South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Australia,
(30:54):
and of course Taiwan. So that really means that the
Chinese system is already lashing out and this is just started,
so it could get much worse.
Speaker 5 (31:02):
All right, what would be the tipping point do you
think for the Chinese? What would set this off?
Speaker 39 (31:08):
I think I think that if they see that the
United States won't cave in, then they might consider harsher measures.
The only way that China wins this trade war because
the objective factors all point into the US holding the
high cards. But the one thing that ci Jinping hopes
is that he can marshall American public opinion to get
(31:28):
Trump to back down. That's China's only help. If he
sees that that campaign is not working on President Trump,
then they may decide to go to harsher measures, but
we got to remember that this fight is something we
can't back down either, because China's been maliciously attacking our
economy and our people like fentanyl, like covid. So this
(31:50):
is a point where we have no room for maneuver either.
Speaker 5 (31:54):
All Right, Gordon Chang always a pleasure. By the way,
you can follow Gordon on Twitter at Gordon's z Chang

Seven seven Are time during. Houston's boring news art is a, very.
Subjective thing right there's some art that that passes FOR
art that i, JUST you, know, I go what i'm
Not a big i'm not a big fan. OF abstract
guard i don't you know to me that that seems
like something could be created, by virtually, anybody you know
(01:17:24):
by throwing a bunch of. Paint up there not that
it can't be. PRETTY or NICE i JUST i just
i question how much talent it takes to. Create abstract
guard show me somebody who can paint a, really, good
Portrait however and i'll be very. Impressed with that there's
a couple of Portraits At. The white house one just,
(01:17:45):
got taken down the other one just, got put up
and it has, the left well let's just say there
are a little out of sorts.
Speaker 4 (01:17:52):
On this one the portrait that used to be.
Speaker 5 (01:17:56):
In this, spot, you know anybody any occupant Coming Into,
the white house they can hang whatever pictures they.
Speaker 43 (01:18:00):
Want to.
Speaker 5 (01:18:00):
Hang pretty much they have, their own choices and it
varies from president to president as far as what kind
of art work. Is hanging there in, this one spot
there used to be A Portrait, of president, obama you
know kind of a he's, wearing a suit he's got
his right hand, in his pocket, and, he's posed yeah
kind of casually for the picture that, has been replaced
(01:18:24):
and evidently the left is noticed. Has been replaced i'm
not Sure Where the white house this is that everybody
notices that's. Been placed replaced there must have been, a
public area but it's been replaced by a Portrait Painted
of president trump in that defiant moment at the assassination
attempt where he's got his fist raised up.
Speaker 14 (01:18:42):
In.
Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
The air.
Speaker 5 (01:18:44):
Yeah that one that that's the picture That Has replaced,
president obama's portrait and that has got it's got the
left a little bit out of sorts.

Speaker 5 (01:24:35):
Morning news yup out of touch is a great way
To Describe the democrat, party right now even coming from
at least the moderates. Within the party the few, that
are left most of them have A Connection to bill clinton,
in some way, shape Or Form, including doug shane Who
Said the democrat. Party is rudderless they're not speaking. The
right language he Said That the donald trump is moving
(01:24:59):
the country in the direction that the country wants in terms,
of the budgets certainly in terms, of the border And
that the democrats don't have. Any Big ideas aaron evans
joins this President to. Winning republican strategies that's. PRETTY amazing,
thing i think maybe even more shocking than all that
ERON is that cnn there they're a little polster there
has been Driving their anchors crazy the other day came
(01:25:21):
up with a show to Polls showing that republicans Are
tied with democrats for under the question of who cares the?
Most about me and that was that was a category
that Was owned by democrats for a, lot of, people
you know who cares about the. Common everyday man democrats.
Always won that republicans are winning that. Now absolutely, no
and look there's been. A HUGE shift and, I think,
(01:25:42):
that i mean really if, you look Back, especially in texas,
AND you know i Grew up in virginia and it
was the same, thing there, where you know kind Of
the SOUTHERN democrats, that i mean their brand was protecting.
Blue COLLAR workers, and i mean what, have we, seen
you know really Happened With The democrat, PARTY and uh
(01:26:02):
i mean it's just so out of, touch with uh
with everyday uh, blue collar values out of touch with
common sense literally animous, to you know anyone working and trying.
To make money AND and and i think that, across the,
board you know, whether it's safety whether, it's people's wallets whether,
whether it's, morality you know and and just freedom and uh.
(01:26:28):
And common, sense You know the democrats have really went.
Off the rails it's it's no longer the, party.
Speaker 4 (01:26:32):
Of, uh You Know of bill.
Speaker 5 (01:26:33):
Clinton for certain so here's the one question that does seem.
To Come Up is president trump? MOVING too, fast i
mean he's a. Man of action he's, done a lot
done a lot, of things already but that seems to
we make at least a few people nervous that he's
acting at the speed. That he's acting others are just
ecstatic he's. Going, so fast, LOOK you know i think
four years is a really short. Amount of TIME and
(01:26:56):
and i think that the number one thing that everyone's
got a real member is. We're not guaranteed but two
because as crazy as As The the democrat, party has,
shifted you know but there's still no guarantees on how.
Speaker 43 (01:27:10):
Midterms turn out and, SO you, know, I Think look
president trump was Given a mandateh he's taken that. Mandate
extremely serious he's hit the ground running AND and and
i think he's doing exactly what The Majority of america's
americans voted for, him to do which is to go
in and actually make real lasting. Change and impact and
(01:27:34):
and and there's so much broken and there's so much,
that's been, ignored you know over the. Last, few decades
uh everything from our NATIONAL, debt to uh obviously what
we're seeing WITH those uncovering uh and the And the
waste froden abuse just done to, some common sense getting
back to the basics of what governance. Really is about
(01:27:54):
and so he's got a ton of work to do
in a very short. AMOUNT of time uh and. Any one,
term you know he's a. One TERM, PRESIDENT so uh
i think he's doing exactly what he.
Speaker 4 (01:28:04):
Needs TO.
Speaker 43 (01:28:04):
Do and, uh and, HONESTLY if, ANYTHING i wish i
wish he could. Move EVEN faster and i know that
he can't because he. Already doesn't sleep and he YOU
know if i think he sleeps about four hours a
night from. What he said but he's he's doing exactly
what he needs to do, for you know the massive
work he's got to accomplish in such a short. AMOUNT
of time i think he's. WORKING fast enough i could
(01:28:24):
Do something. About Congress stuff The republicans in congress need
to act with a sense OF urgency that i just.
HAVEN'T Seen, YET i look i. COULDN'T agree, MORE i
mean i think at the end, of the day the
BIGGEST concern that i personally have right now is not
What Not what, president trump's, doing but, uh you Know
ensuring that congress actually locks these meaningful changes in because
(01:28:47):
at the end, of The day if congress doesn't, do
their job and we get to the end of the president's,
term and we, uh you know will inevitably at some
Point have. A democrat again and and if it's, just executive,
orders you know what's done backpen.
Speaker 36 (01:29:02):
Can.
Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
Be reversed Batpan we need congress act and. Do their, job,
That's right sir thank. You Appreciate, It aaron Evans President Of.

salvador as far as their jails and in particular. Their, prison, SYSTEM.
Speaker 22 (01:41:38):
Well look i think, first of all The Relationship between
el Salvador And the united states has certainly at an.
All time high their cooperation is certainly.
Speaker 8 (01:41:49):
Absolutely something.
Speaker 22 (01:41:50):
That we need now could we, Have done this but
what we need to know and people need to know
in this country is that you if you are a
terrorist designated organization operating in the country and, you are
caught you will be Sent to the. Meximum security prison
we can, possibly do that that is the Prison There.
In el salvador and what's happening and you will see.
It every day they have taken people off the street

a beacon because what you're saying now is we'll see
What's happening in mexico with the terrorist organizations that have
been designated there that are, obsoally operating there feeding fentanyl
Coming in from china through the Ports Into. The united
states now what we have to look at is what
do we do with What's. Happening in mexico is This
(01:42:45):
something that. MEXICO should adopt. I think so i think
they need to get very serious about what's happening in.
Their own country over two hundred thousand homicides just. Last
year alone so this is something that's absolutely going to
affect what's going to HAPPEN. In the us trump needs
To push the mexican president to be able to do
something very. Similar like that They're Doing in el salvador to,
(01:43:06):
ensure that again if They're, operating in mexico which obviously
Operate In, the united states we're gonna put a stop

Seven to fifty five our Time here in. Houston's BORING
news as i, listened to that THE thing that i
find kind OF sad is i think a lot of
giant corporations have become. The same way they've become more
like the government and less. Like small, business you know
corporations have tried. To centralize everything you need to, get
something fixed you got to go through a centralized apartment to,
get it fixed and they hand it down to somebody
(01:47:38):
else who may or may not be in a hurry.
To fix it before, you know it it's a week
or two later and it's. Still not fixed it may
not be one hundred days like it Is For the,
united states government but. It's painful, nonetheless so please corporations and,
business in general don't be. Like the government be like. A, small,
business listen y'all have. A great day i'll see you
