Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, I think the Lieutenant Governor thinks it's more than
just maybe being a little lazy. He thinks it's it
turns you into a murderous, rampaging, crazy individual, which is
a little over the top if you ask me, and
I'm a conservative, Mill Miller joins this political consultant. Do
you think the Lieutenant Governor is the least bit surprised

(00:21):
that the backlash use received on this so far on
the THC band.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Well, if he's not surprised, then I'm surprised that he's
not surprised. Let's say that it's pretty pretty darn wise
spread and pretty darn overwhelming. And I can say from
my own experience, I run into it in more places
for more people, and maybe any other issue that I
can recall memory, Well, it's just pervasive. It's it's something

(00:50):
that it's a big time issue. And I think at
least Governor Abbott, by not saying anything, is saying a
lot in violence. And I think that's kind of where
we are. And Patrick's been very quiet about it since
the famous press conference. So we'll see what we see.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
You know, when you have veterans groups that are coming
out to oppose something and that they were among the
first to come out and oppose this THHC band. You
know that that has a definitely has a snowball down
a hill effect for the rest of the cistence. We
are very pro military here in Texas, and when you
have veterans who are suffering from PTSD telling you how

(01:32):
this stuff has helped save their lives, it's a compelling story.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
So it's a it's more than compelling, it's it's as
persuasive an argument as can be made about any issue.
There's something is saving your life and allowing you to
live as a human being. What more can be said
about it? I mean that's as that's as reinforcing as
you can possibly imagine. And I think it's also as

(02:00):
probably is persuice toward what Abbott is prepared to do
between now and July twenty second as you can possibly
have out there, And he has to consider that in
all its seriousness.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, what do you think Governor Abbot ends up doing
on this? Do you think he signs it? Do you
think he vetos it? What do you think he does?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Well, he's got three choices. Of course, he can sign it,
he can veto it, or he can do nothing and
it becomes law and he has to do this one
of the three by June twenty second, next week from Sunday.
My prediction today is one. He's been quiet, which and
he says he's studying, okay, judicial temperament and all. But

(02:42):
I predict that he will veto the bill, and I
think he'll veto it for a couple of reasons. One
is the arguments that are made about how it helps military. Two,
it's a big time industry, whether you say that or
not or believe it, it's an eight billion dollar industry,
and that's a big deal in Texas. The Texas Miracle
is based on being recepted to businesses and growing their

(03:05):
businesses here. So I think they're compelling arguments for him
to be killed, and I think that's what he'll do.
But believe me, that's just my opinion. And you can
hear anything you want out there. Anyone's opinion counts right now.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
It certainly does. Bill Thank you, has always appreciated political
consultant Bill Miller,
