Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm fifty two. Now here in Houston's Morning News. Don't
hear about a lot of gun violence in Australia. They
have very very strict gun laws, but that didn't keep
this individual would be terrorist, as it turns out, from
accumulating six weapons which he used on Bondi Beach during
a Jewish celebration Honikah celebration to mow down just dozens
(00:23):
of people. Just a horrific side. Jeb Attica joins, us
director of the Warrior Defense Project at Saint Mary's Law School.
It's hard to know where to start with this one.
I've heard a lot of commentary coming out of Australia
and they're all saying the same thing that the government
has been allowing people who have anti Semitic tendencies to
emigrate to their country and it's causing trouble and they're
(00:45):
just turning a blind eye to all of it.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Yeah, that's true. I mean, there's been recommendations by select
committees by the Prime Minister. He ignored all the recommendations.
They have taken in more gas in any country in
the world since the October seventh attack, and the Gods
and people voted overwhelmingly to put Hamas into office. We
(01:10):
know that the children of Gaza are propaganda is from
a very early age with anti Semitism, hate Jews, kill Jews.
And you allow that type of mentality to come into
your country, what do you think is going to happen? Now?
We obviously know that this attack was directly related to
radical Islamic extremists and also in the wish to grow.
(01:34):
You add the fact that these idiots in Australia have
taken away guns from their people. So the way you
stop a bad guy with a gun is a good
guy with a gun. We saw one individual tackle on
the shooters, but that's not the way you divenge yourself.
That basically have disarmed their own people at the mercy
of criminals. It's insane.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Well, why would you disarm your own people and allow
somebody who em't graduate country, has extremist beliefs to colect weapons?
That make any sense? How this guy gets hand on
six guns if they're if their gun laws are so.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Tough, Yeah, criminals can always get guns. When you disarm,
you're disarming the citizens, the law abiding citizens, and statistics
show that when you allow people to carry arms at
the crime rate actually goes down, not up. A lot
of misprop propaganda about you know, gun ownership. Thank goodness,
our founders have the wisdom to you know, put into
the Second Amendment into our DNA. Yes there's going to
(02:26):
be accidents, Yes there's going to be mishaps, but that's life.
Life is dangerous, there's you know, that's and that's not
going to change. You're always going to have crime, You're
always going to have these types of issues that you
have to deal with. But this is clearly a terror attack.
And the Australian government is disoriented to reality. They cannot
conform their mind to objective reality. Therefore they're delusional. And
(02:48):
that's what the far left does.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
We get rid of.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Crime by get rid of the guns, get rid of
war by disarming our military. That's never worked. It's a
disorientation to reality.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Amen. All right, let's also talk as long as we're
on the topic of terrorism. We had several US troops
killed and injured in an ambush attack in Syria over
the weekend. The ones that were killed were members of
the Iowa National Guard. According to a US senior official,
an Isis gunman opened fire with an automatic weapon in
the central Syrian town of Palmyra, killing two Iowa National
(03:18):
Guard soldiers and the American civilian translator. Again that part
of the world, those things are always going to happen,
aren't they. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I mean the job of the military is extremely dangerous.
That's why I thank goodness we have Pete Hegseth and
the Department of War would have gotten rid of all
the woke nonsense. You've got to have people that are
the highest and the best qualified, not because of the
color of their skin, or their sexual orientation or all
this nonsense. This is life and death, and so we
expect casualties when you're in a wartime environment. That goodness,
(03:50):
President Trump has reduced our footprint in that area, and
I hope we reduce it further because again, you're not
going to stop rather Islamic extremists. The most you can
do is to continue to fight them. But you know,
we're basically putting our troops at risk, and you know,
what's the payoff is something that we have to ask ourselves.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
We're talking to Jeff Atticktt, director of the Warrior Defense
Project at Saint Mary's Law School. I want to ask
you quickly to Jeff for a couple of quick thoughts
of what happened to Brown University that is more of
But that's a lone gunman situation, at least we think
it might be a lone gunman situation. They had a
person of interest in custody. Yes, that person has been released,
so obviously the person they are looking for is still
on the loose. How difficult is going to be to
(04:33):
find this person seventy two hours afterwards.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Usually you captured these individuals within the first day, second
day at the most, so it's going to be very difficult.
I was very suspicious when the first Gulm clips came
out showing this individual because he had different clothes on
than what was described for the shooter, and so that
didn't make any sense. But you know, this is obviously
a terror attack. But when you when you look at terrorism,
(05:00):
it's a tactic. You've got to kind of figure out, well,
who's pauling the trigger, who's using the tactic. When you're
attacking a Jewish crowd, obviously it's anti Semitism. When we're
attacking a university, in many cases it's a discruntal student
or it's just some criminal nut job. So you know,
they'll find them eventually, but uh, you know, there's a
(05:21):
lot of a lot of confusion when these things occur.
And we've got some great, you know, great forensics and
our you know, our our law enforcement, the FBI is
all over this. They'll get the individual. It's going to
be it's gonna be a little bit more difficult, no question.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
All right, Jeff, thank you as always appreciate your time.
Director of the Warriort Defense Project at Saint Mary's Law School,
does Jeff Ettiquette. It's five fifty seven
