Speaker 1 (00:00):
Little postage stamp sized states don't think of Rhode Island
very often. You can drive Rhode Island in an hour
from one end to the other end. Biggest city is
its capital of Providence is the home of Ivy League
Brown University, where tragedy struck over the weekend. Somebody went
into a classroom shot it up and we had believe
nine people when two people killed. We still haven't learned
(00:22):
a whole lot more about it. We've seen a lot
of press conferences. I will give the Mayor of Providence
credit for all the press conferences and police and everybody
else involved. They had a person, a person of interest,
supposedly in custody, but they've let that person go. So
whoever they're looking for is the shooter in this particular
case at this point, if they know who it is,
(00:46):
we don't know that they know who it is. And
as every hour takes by, of course, it becomes a
little bit more difficult in order to be able to
get the answers about who this guy is and where
he is. Farm FBI Special Agent and Navy Seal Jonathan
Gilliam joins us to talk about it. These cases oftentimes
get colder hour by hour after after in this case,
(01:07):
the shooting happens. Are you surprised they don't have anybody
in custody.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yet, Well, I'm surprised that they have not shown us
that they have more evidence that could lead them to
this individual. That is kind of appalling in this day
and age that we don't even have other angles of
you know, a fuzzy person walking by. You know, it's
all the cameras that we have. You think that they
(01:32):
would have some type of evidence that would put a
person in a certain place, whether it be the geolocating
that you do by using cell phones, where there's the
key cards to get in the building. You know, it
was four o'clock on a Saturday, and it was not
a soft target. It was not an area where there's
massive amounts of people congregated in an unsecured location, like
(01:55):
a special event or a food court. This was an
engineering building on a Saturday that usually I believe most
of the buildings there fq cars after hours, So I
can't believe. I don't know why this information is not
coming out on who these people were and who they
may have had contact with, because to me, this just
(02:18):
screams that person knew people or a person in that
area and he was targeting them.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, you would. You would think, first of all, I'm
shocked that there isn't, you know, video from the classroom
itself unless they have it and they are not saying
anything about it. You would think that they would have
video capabilities in all classrooms on any major university in
this day and age, wouldn't you.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah, I guess. I don't know what the legality is
of having it in the in the classroom itself, but
I know that they have it in the hallways or
they have it in the entrances. And also that university
is smacked down in the middle of a neighborhood with
other businesses and homes. I can't I just keep believing
nobody else has a ring camera or something that they
(03:03):
didn't have up there. And I'll tell you something else
that's really been bothering me is this we have and
all these incidents that we had. We'll have one good
brief and then we'll have like five absolutely horrific briefs
that don't do anything by politicians that don't know how
to brief and law enforcement that doesn't really know what's
going on. So there has to be some standardization in
(03:23):
how they give these briefs. People need to know certain
information and if the politicians can't feed it to us,
then law enforcement needs to be able to do that,
but it needs to be standardized.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Only have about thirty seconds, sir, but if you could
tell me, what do you think? Who do you think
from a profile standpoint, who do you think the FBI
is looking for?
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I think they're probably looking for somebody who's connected that building,
as though somebody worked there, somebody who took classes there.
And then the people that were killed. I would focus
very closely on those two individuals that were killed. The
other people were wounded, but those two people were children.
I think that they were the target.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Okay, well said, thank you, sir, appreciate your time as
always that former Davy Seal and former FBI Special Agent
